- 0:00Speaker 1: Getting up presead for his podcast on the iHeartRadio app.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Now back to Mark Simon on wo R.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Well, Charlie Gasprino, the best business reporter on Earth. You
- 0:11Speaker 1: can see him on the Fox Business Thattwork. Read all
- 0:13Speaker 1: of his columns New York Post and make sure you
- 0:16Speaker 1: get his books. And if you're one of the few
- 0:18Speaker 1: people on earth it hasn't read his last book, Go Woke,
- 0:21Speaker 1: Go Broke. It's must reading. Go get the book Go Woke,
- 0:24Speaker 1: Go Broke by Charlie Gasprino. Charlie, how you doing?
- 0:29Speaker 2: No, Mark?
- 0:31Speaker 1: Uh? You know that book, Go Woke, Go Broke. A
- 0:37Speaker 1: lot of people in Minnesota might need to read that book.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Don't you think, Oh my god, what I never thought
- 0:43Speaker 2: the place was that insane? Yes, you know, I mean
- 0:45Speaker 2: it literally is if you I mean, I mean, obviously
- 0:49Speaker 2: we're getting a one sided view of just the protesters,
- 0:52Speaker 2: but it looks like it's ground zero for some of
- 0:55Speaker 2: the most bizarre, freaked out, emotionally disturbed people in the
- 1:00Speaker 2: world that have nothing better to do but to protest.
- 1:03Speaker 2: To think about it, like, you get up in the
- 1:04Speaker 2: morning and I'm like, there's no you have nothing better
- 1:06Speaker 2: to do. You don't have to go to a job.
- 1:08Speaker 2: You you know, you even before you take care of
- 1:11Speaker 2: your kids, you go out, you make time to protest.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I mean, think about that. I mean you would think,
- 1:18Speaker 2: by the way, we should point out that, you know,
- 1:21Speaker 2: I keep reading, well this country was based on protests
- 1:24Speaker 2: again against the little against government. I was like, well,
- 1:29Speaker 2: not really. I mean, you know, the guy that's like
- 1:32Speaker 2: president ran He was duly elected. He won a landslide
- 1:38Speaker 2: from the from the electoral college, and he won by
- 1:43Speaker 2: a couple of million votes in the on the popular vote.
- 1:46Speaker 2: But he ran on cracking down on immigration. How is
- 1:50Speaker 2: this like an uprising against tyranny? The guy ran on this. Yeah,
- 1:55Speaker 2: And so I think, you know, the and the media
- 1:57Speaker 2: just plays into this stuff. I mean, you know, are
- 2:01Speaker 2: we supposed to really think that the green and orange
- 2:05Speaker 2: color colored hair, colored people screaming at ice agents are
- 2:11Speaker 2: normal human beings?
- 2:13Speaker 1: Yeah? But the question are they insane or is it
- 2:15Speaker 1: just these universities and colleges have been indoctrinating them for
- 2:20Speaker 1: the last twenty years. Indoctrination and also they just spoiled brats?
- 2:23Speaker 1: Is that all it is?
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a combination of there's spoiled brats. They're insane.
- 2:30Speaker 2: I mean, you know, I mean, they got nothing going
- 2:32Speaker 2: for themselves. And you know, I mean just think if
- 2:36Speaker 2: you were a complete loser and you wanted to make
- 2:40Speaker 2: it on TV, you can go to a protest. And
- 2:43Speaker 2: you know, the media is also willing to give them
- 2:46Speaker 2: credence that this is some somehow a populist revolt of
- 2:51Speaker 2: the masses, when it's a vocal, freaky minority. And I
- 2:56Speaker 2: just thought, I think we've got to put this in context.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Who these people are. They're cause a lot of problems
- 3:00Speaker 2: in certain places, but they are as far they are
- 3:05Speaker 2: a vast, like a very small minority of the population.
- 3:10Speaker 2: And most people don't do this that even most liberals
- 3:13Speaker 2: don't do this. Let's be real clear here.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're Bill Clinton, a kind of common sense,
- 3:19Speaker 1: middle of the road kind of a Democrat, what do
- 3:21Speaker 1: you think he thinks watching this? What happened to his party?
- 3:24Speaker 2: I mean he I mean, it's really just flushing everything
- 3:27Speaker 2: that he did down the drain, which was kind of
- 3:30Speaker 2: return the party to something halfway decent, normal and uh
- 3:35Speaker 2: and and successful by the way legislatively and both politically.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I you know, listen, you know the Republicans might lose
- 3:43Speaker 2: the mid terms kind of the way mid terms grow go.
- 3:46Speaker 2: But I don't know, how do how do you? Uh
- 3:51Speaker 2: does a party survive this? You know, you know a
- 3:55Speaker 2: freak Just think if you're the party of the freak show.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Yeause it really is a freak show. You take a
- 4:01Speaker 2: look at.
- 4:02Speaker 1: These people, Uh yeah, the those ring women.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yeah, those rings. But just just the way they act
- 4:09Speaker 2: is just not how normal people act, particularly in public.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Do you want to do that in your house, go
- 4:16Speaker 2: for it, but I mean in public.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Hey, Charlie Gasprino, you're the best business reporter on earth.
- 4:22Speaker 1: What's going on Warner Brothers, Discovery, Paramounts Guidance. Is anything
- 4:26Speaker 1: going to happen there?
- 4:27Speaker 2: Well, I mean listen, it's kind of along the lines
- 4:29Speaker 2: that we reported, h and it happened today. I reported
- 4:33Speaker 2: that they were gonna there's a something known inside Paramount
- 4:37Speaker 2: as death con one. They think they have a much
- 4:40Speaker 2: superior did and they're gonna sue. And today they announced
- 4:46Speaker 2: that there's going to be a lawsuit. I really think that.
- 4:51Speaker 2: I mean, this is this is a great story on
- 4:53Speaker 2: so many levels that it's it's hard to really like
- 4:55Speaker 2: sort of just sort of encapsulated. Give you a Cliffmo version.
- 4:59Speaker 2: But you know, this is a big company called Warner Brothers.
- 5:02Speaker 2: It has the Jack Warner Studio, it has the HBO
- 5:06Speaker 2: Max streaming service, and there's a bidding war. And you
- 5:10Speaker 2: know what's interesting about it is that one of the
- 5:13Speaker 2: bidders involves Paramounts Guidance that wants to bring, from a
- 5:17Speaker 2: political standpoint, very centrist programming to everything, including CNN. You know,
- 5:22Speaker 2: CNN is part of the purchase. There's another one that
- 5:26Speaker 2: just wants it's called Netflix, that just wants the streaming
- 5:30Speaker 2: and studio, and you know, could create a monopoly of streaming,
- 5:35Speaker 2: which isn't the greatest thing in the world by combining
- 5:39Speaker 2: the number one streamer that they have with the number
- 5:41Speaker 2: three streamer which Warner Brothers has. So there's a lot
- 5:45Speaker 2: of interesting issues here, both politically consumer wise. I can't
- 5:50Speaker 2: tell you how this is going to end up. Right now,
- 5:54Speaker 2: Warner Brothers wants the Netflix, did uh. Paramount is trying
- 5:58Speaker 2: to upend it and doing all it can by making
- 6:01Speaker 2: arguments both the shareholders. It's gone hostile by doing so.
- 6:06Speaker 2: My my, my, I guess my my best device is
- 6:09Speaker 2: keep reading my coverage in the New York Post, because
- 6:12Speaker 2: I cover it basically day by day.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Yeah, he's the best on the subject. New York Post
- 6:17Speaker 1: or make sure you fall him on Twitter too, one
- 6:19Speaker 1: of the best tweeters out there. Uh hey, Charlie Gasprino,
- 6:22Speaker 1: you talked to all the business leaders. What's the what
- 6:24Speaker 1: are they thinking about mom Donnie after the first week?
- 6:28Speaker 2: I mean they're scared. I mean he's just a nightmare.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I mean he really is everything that you all, all
- 6:35Speaker 2: your worst fears is what he is. He's a communist
- 6:38Speaker 2: and and and a guy that's you know, I left
- 6:42Speaker 2: this communist, which is both Marxism in an economic sense
- 6:46Speaker 2: and cultural Marxism in you know, DEI and you know,
- 6:51Speaker 2: anti Israel, and he's really anybody that helped this guy
- 6:56Speaker 2: get elected, either tacitly or explicitly, but if they didn't
- 7:02Speaker 2: oppose him as strendly, as strenuously enough in many ways,
- 7:08Speaker 2: has you know, I don't want to say blood because
- 7:09Speaker 2: that's an overstatement, but you know, has A has a
- 7:14Speaker 2: has a lot of explaining to do, because he really
- 7:17Speaker 2: is as bad as we thought he is, and everybody
- 7:19Speaker 2: knew it, and it's it's it's it's actually frightening to
- 7:23Speaker 2: esk me. There's no, there's no other. By the way,
- 7:28Speaker 2: there's no other. You know, there's a way to fight
- 7:31Speaker 2: back against this, and that's called like you move out.
- 7:34Speaker 1: We don't want to do that. But some people think
- 7:36Speaker 1: he's kind of kind of Deblasio like him, that he's
- 7:38Speaker 1: a lot of talk. There won't be a lot of action.
- 7:41Speaker 1: He won't actually do much of anything. You think that's possible.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Now, there's already talking about doing it. I mean, they're
- 7:47Speaker 2: already he's doing it. He's planning to do it. He's
- 7:51Speaker 2: got all sorts of plans, he's got all sorts of
- 7:53Speaker 2: people in place, he's got hope, laquies and because the
- 7:57Speaker 2: state let because you know, they believe Democrat Party has
- 8:00Speaker 2: gone so far left that she'll give in. So I mean,
- 8:03Speaker 2: this is this is bad stuff, and it's it's gonna
- 8:06Speaker 2: get worse. And again, anybody who either tacitly or explicitly
- 8:11Speaker 2: supported this guy or you know, made it easier for
- 8:14Speaker 2: him to get in there has a lot of exploited
- 8:17Speaker 2: to do. As far as i'm this is not a
- 8:19Speaker 2: good thing.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Okay, but you wrote the book Go Woke, Go broke
- 8:22Speaker 1: the Left from Donnie to Minneapolis, going so far to
- 8:25Speaker 1: the left. Isn't your book going to hold up the
- 8:28Speaker 1: go woke, go broke? Eventually they'll have overplayed their hand
- 8:31Speaker 1: and it'll all come.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Cross played their hands. But look, Minneapolis is Minneapolis right now.
- 8:37Speaker 2: I mean, it's a it's a it's it's it's worrisome.
- 8:41Speaker 2: But look, what's going on there is understandable. But it's
- 8:48Speaker 2: gonna happen there and it could happen here. That doesn't
- 8:53Speaker 2: mean it's going to happen in ninety nine percent of
- 8:55Speaker 2: the country, which it won't. As a matter of fact,
- 8:56Speaker 2: quite the opposite's gonna happen. There's a revolt against that.
- 9:00Speaker 2: But make no mistake about it, Minneapolis is where New
- 9:04Speaker 2: York is going, and it's going there because we elect
- 9:07Speaker 2: the type of people that's gonna that want to bring
- 9:09Speaker 2: it there. And you know, once they get in office,
- 9:12Speaker 2: it's hard to get him out and they do what
- 9:15Speaker 2: they I mean, listen, so Mondammie's all talk. Why should
- 9:18Speaker 2: Mondombi be all talk when Jacob Fry is not all talk?
- 9:22Speaker 2: He I mean, the people, the leaders of Minneapolis, of
- 9:26Speaker 2: the elective officials have really have really destroyed that state
- 9:31Speaker 2: and that city in particular. That city is unlivable unless
- 9:34Speaker 2: you're like a lunatic lefty that just wants to indulge
- 9:37Speaker 2: in riots and protests all day. I mean, there's it's
- 9:40Speaker 2: really an unlivable place. So again, I say, anybody that
- 9:45Speaker 2: enabled this guy, either tacitly or explicitly, his got explained
- 9:50Speaker 2: to do. Because this guy is gonna reak havoc on
- 9:53Speaker 2: the city.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Well, I want to thank you for cheering us up
- 9:56Speaker 1: this morning. Everybody gets the book. It's one of the
- 10:00Speaker 1: best books ever written. Go Woke, Go Broke. It's Charlie
- 10:03Speaker 1: Gasprino's book. Get the book, Go Woke, Go Broke. Make
- 10:06Speaker 1: sure you follow him on Twitter, watch him on Fox Business,
- 10:09Speaker 1: read his columns in The New York Post. Nobody better

- 10:16Speaker 1: all right, take care, Uh hey, don't forget coming up
