- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jack Wars fans, welcome in to Dove All Daily, presented by GenJag.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Aluga, thanks so much for being here Saturday, September 6th.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: Happy birthday.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: My step to that, Stephen.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: Hope you have a great one.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be celebrating later.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: So, Jack Wars, Panthers, week one.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: We are one sleep away from the Jack Wars and their regular season opener for 2025.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: At the bank, one PM, Jack's Panthers, Battle of the 1995 Cats, Battle of the former Buccaneers Offensive Coordinators, Battle of the ETS, Battle of the former, Number 1 overall picks at quarterback.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: Right now we've got board predictions and I'm really excited to get into them.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: Talk about this football game, talk about the Jack Wars entering the 25 season for the last time, you know, before the actual season starts.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: I'm really excited.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's a lot to get into.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: Got a lot of bold predictions and just want to talk about this season and we'll offer a score prediction and talk a little bit about chargers and chiefs last night as well because both of those teams are on the Jaguar schedule.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to get into it.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: You can also check out gymjag.com slash shop pick up some new dooval gear like the hat I am wearing right now.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: That's good stuff up on the site.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: So Travis Hunter.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: kind of start with Travis Hunter, right?
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: What do I expect from Travis Hunter and Game One?
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: Putting a number on things is always like silly, but this is the bold prediction show, so that's exactly what we're gonna do.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm expecting seven catches, and why do I say seven?
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'm expecting double digit targets for them.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: And I think a lot of them are going to be screen type things.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I should say seven catches slash,
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: carries like seven touches for Travis Hunter.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: Either way, I think they're going to get him the ball early, often, quick.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: And then they'll utilize him as well down the field at times.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think very strategically and specifically, but I have him with seven catches, a touchdown.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: and a pass break up on defense.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: This guy and zone defense, which is that's what they're gonna primarily be running.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: So so good.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: He's gonna play both sides.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: I know their goal is probably to do similar what they did in college, where it was about 80% plus on both sides.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how realistic that is every single week, but I think he will play 80% offensively and then over 50% defensively.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully he picks it.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully he does, but at least a pass break up defensively for Travis Hunter.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: So I think he's going to get off to a nice start in this football game.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: I also think Brian Thomas Jr.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: is going to get off to a nice start.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: I have him with five catches over a hundred yards and a touchdown.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: JC Horn is a tough matchup, but
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really worry about Brian Thomas Jr.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: having a tough matchup like he went against a lot of tough corners last year and balled out.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: And now he's in a situation where they're going to be more creative and let's be real.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: Doug Peterson lacked a lot of things down the stretch last year.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: but he was creative with getting Brian Thomas due to the football after Trevor Lawrence got hurt.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: That is a fact.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's gonna be in that type of situation again, getting creative, but now he's got a running mate.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: We Travis Hunter and some of the other guys as well.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that I've talked about this.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's gonna be a lot of games where Travis Hunter has more catches,
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: and Brian Thomas Jr.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: has more yards.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: I just think he's more of that vertical threat right now and Travis Hunter's more of that game the ball and let him work in space type of guy right now.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think both of them can do a lot though.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguar's offensive line keeps Trevor Lawrence very, very clean.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: A lot goes into this, right?
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: Part of that is Liam Cohen's scheme.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: part of that is Liam Cohen and this offensive staff's coaching of the offensive line, the play calling, the play sequencing, keeping the defense off balance.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: Part of that is I think that the Panthers, they have what could be one day a pretty good defensive front, but you look at this defensive front right now.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: You have Derek Brown coming back first game from injury, he's a good football player.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: for the sake of, you know, my analysis of this game, I'm just assuming he is 100%.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: Is that likely?
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm just assuming he's 100%.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: Then you have some nice veterans, right?
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: Asian Robins Center, Sean Warden, Bobby Brown.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: None of those guys are like, true game records.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: They're pretty good players.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: I like Cam Jackson out of Florida as well.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: But I just don't see the past rush.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: They're two most talented past rushers.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: Two guys I really liked on the draft, but they're rookies and you know that that just does not present the biggest challenge in week one in my opinion And yeah, they have Patrick Jones and DJ one.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm neither of those guys is scaring you off the edge not to say they can't make plays But this isn't Realistically going to be one of the worst defensive fronts the Jaguar's play all year outside of Derrick Brown
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: So I think they're going to handle business upfront.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think that what they have done Jaguar's coaching wise with this offensive line group, the competition, they've created, the depth they've created, all that stuff is going to go a long way in a game like this.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: I've talked about the offensive line, and I think that there's going to be times when they have opponents that are able to rattle them a little bit.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the Panthers are one of those opponents.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: And on the opposite side, I don't think the Panthers offensive line does the same for Bryce Young.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they have a great past blocking group.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: They will not have an all likelihood.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: He came a quantum, I left tackle.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: Look, Damian Lewis, Robert Hunt, even it came a quantum, really, really good rum blockers.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: tone centers.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't think that they have the past pro group to really handle some of the games, some of the blitzes, some of the sim pressures, some of the one on ones with Josh Hines Allen and Trayvon Walker.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: Eric Armstrong said I think he's going to have a good football game.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to make Jack Wars fans proud beyond just like his off-field, you know, endeavors and, you know, earning Walter Peyton Man of the Year, I think he's going to make Jack Wars fans proud on the field.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I'm not going to predict it, but I think the Jack Wars are going to have a really good day.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: I am predicting, I think the Jack was going to have a really good day rushing the passer.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: I really want to see Josh Hines Allen get that franchise record.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: He needs two and a half sacks to do it.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think he can do that in this game.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: Asking any player to get two and a half sacks and a given game that was like that's a lot, right?
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: But it's possible.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: He could do it this week.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: If he doesn't do it this week, they've got the bingles in week two,
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, I expect him to do it by the end of week two, but hopefully he can do it tomorrow.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: I've traveled Lawrence with a hat trick, and he only had one last year, but I expect him to have three touchdowns, whether that'd be passing two running, two passing one running, whatever it may be.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: I expect him to have a hat trick.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: I expect him to have a good game.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the Panthers have a very good defense, and as much as I respect a zero-everro.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: This was the worst defense in the NFL by a wide wide margin.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: And you look back at the Jaguar's defense last year and how bad they were, they did not compare to how bad the Panthers were.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they've upgraded some things.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, Derek Brown is back.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: I still don't see a good defense.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, I really believe in Liam Cohen's offense.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: I really believe in Trevor and the receiving weapons he has.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: And as much as I believe in the Panthers running game, I think the Jaguars are built to stop the run.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: You look at the edge players they have, and I know they were not good against the run last year.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: You look at the edge players they have though.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: Trayvon Walker, Josh Hines Allen, both really good run defenders.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: They have a lot of good interior run defenders, Devon Hamilton.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: Colin Saunders, Austin Johnson.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: Eric Armstrong said is a good interior run to Fender 2.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like all these guys can get the job done on the interior.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: And then at the second level, those are really good run defending linebackers.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: Foye, Devon, Ventrell.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: Those are good run to Fender's.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: Tyson Campbell is a good run to Fending Corner.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think Dewey and Eric Murray are going to be quality against the run.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's one thing to be a running team like the Eagles where you have, I mean, the best running back in football and one of the best running quarterbacks in football, Chewba's a good player.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he can put the whole thing on his back, right?
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: And like Bryce is a good player, but I don't think rushing he can put the whole thing on his back.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: And it sounds like I'm just having the panther score and nothing against, and it's a complete blowout.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have that happening.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: We'll talk about it a little bit more, but I just don't think that Chuba Hubbard can carry this offense against the Jaguar's defense.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: willing it into existence, a real 70 yard kick from Camlittle.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, you can't predict that, but I really want to see it.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to see that, and I'll call it.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'll call it.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: 70 yard kick from Camlittle to end the first half.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jag war is lose a fumble.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: That's just something the Jag war is like to do, whether it be tank bigsby, bashedle two in, Trevor Lawrence,
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: Tell me, Brown has fumbled a lot in his career.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: Travis E. T.N.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: fumbled week one last year, and I do want to give E. T.N.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: credit because he's only fumbled once in the last two seasons.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, give the guy a freaking break.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: If you're a team that can't overcome one fumble in week one, then you're not a good football team in the first place.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think they lose a fumble.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think they will have a couple boneheaded mistakes, and that's why I don't have them beating the brakes off the panthers.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars have a more talented coaching staff.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they have much better talent at Edge, wider-sever, quarterback, corner-back.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: Some of these real big, tent-pole positions in the NFL today.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think they went 31 to 20.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: And I think, again, if they didn't make some of those mistakes,
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: I can respect the direction of the Panthers.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think when they traded Dillon, having Coca-Cola go down with an injury was like the second worst thing that could happen to them at wide receiver outside of T-Mack going down with an injury.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a tough break for sure.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: They want to be a tough physical ground
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: It can be difficult to do that if you don't have a good defense.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think they have a good defense.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: I hope I'm not wrong, right?
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, Jag wars kind of have some of these mistakes, just mental mistakes where they beat themselves a little bit in this one.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: The Panthers have them, you know, having a couple drives where they look pretty good offensively.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think Bryce is a talented young quarterback.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think Tedero McMillan is a talented receiver.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_00]: Xavier Legat is someone who can pick up a chunk play here and there, but overall I just think the Jaguars are a better team.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think there are motivated team.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: I really feel that.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think Liam Cohen and this coaching staff just has such a great way about them that this team connects with the coaching staff.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I think this team makes you forget about the red zone crap from the past.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're gonna be able to score in the red zone.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: Part of that is being able to run the ball better.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen, part of that is talent, you know, having to do that.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: the real red zone targets that I think you can rely on, Brian Thomas Jr.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter, Britain Strange, the running game, the play calling and creativity, all that stuff.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, Jaguar is 31, Panthers 20.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's my score prediction.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: Do I feel great about all this?
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: Like feeling this good about the Jaguar is no, obviously.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_00]: So many times in the past you felt good about
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: Falling out, you know, face first, just disappointing as hell, right?
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: But I feel good about this group.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: Honest evaluation analysis, the talent is there, the coaching is there for this to be a good football team.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, I thought that last year could be a good football team.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that they could make the playoffs.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll be honest with y'all all the time.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: I always tried to be honest with y'all.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_00]: I thought last year they could make the playoffs.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: I did not think that they could do anything in the playoffs and I thought that they would always be capped by their leadership at General Manager and I realized very quickly last year that they were also going to be capped by their coach.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that that's happening anymore, right?
- 15:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like James Gladstone is going to do everything he can to make this football team as good as he can.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_00]: and he'll continue to pursue that every single day.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen, there's so many reasons.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: He's a better coach than Doug Peterson right now.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's better offensive coach, because I mean, he's willing to call plays and put that out there.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: He's willing to take ownership.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: But he's creative.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: All the stuff that we talk about, the offensive, the pre-snap motion, the motion at the snap, the misdirection, the jet sweeps, the screen game, the play sequencing, the understanding of how he's affecting the defense, all those things.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: But he's also able to connect with this generation of player.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: And Doug Peterson, Ryan Nielsen, these guys, they just weren't able to connect with this generation.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I can't speak to Nielsen, but I can't speak to Doug, he was not willing to try to connect with this generation of player, this generation of player who had an IL money, who came in and maybe wasn't the same type of people that he had been around for the last 20 or so years in coaching.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: He was unwilling.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: And that's a problem, that's a big problem.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: So Liam Cohen just, even though he's an offensive coach and Doug Peterson's offensive coach, he's kind of like the antithesis of what Doug Peterson was last year.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm fired up for it.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: I cannot wait for tomorrow.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: Jack Wars hosting the Panthers regular season, week warne.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what y'all are thinking in the comments section and that's not going to do it because I did want to talk a little bit about the chiefs and the chargers game.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's so early.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, even though the jags and chiefs play in week five, that's like a lifetime away from in terms of football coaching and the way things can change.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that the chiefs past rush was a bismal.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_00]: Truly a bismal.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: I thought they had a really tough time just figuring out how to deploy their coverage.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_00]: Um, like, I don't know why Trent McDuffie wasn't on Lath McConkey the whole game.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I thought that my homes was unbelievable.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_00]: I thought Herbert did exactly what he's going to do when you give him time, like he had all day to throw you, most of those drawbacks.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, he shredded.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's a really good quarterback when he's got a clean pocket like that for sure.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: Believer, I think Jim Harball, very good coach, I think Jesse Mentor, very good coach.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Chiefs just flat out got out coached outplayed.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_00]: I still barely lost the game.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they still were right there in it.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_00]: So I still expect the Chiefs to be one of the teams at the top of the AFC.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: I still expect that to me an incredibly difficult matchup for the Jaguars in week five, Monday night football.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: But they've got some work to do for sure.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: And then Chargers-wise, I mean, that game's not for a while.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's also in Jack's and Bill, which is a good thing for the Jack's.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_00]: But obviously, I mean, they'll have to affect Herbert much more than the Chiefs did, or they're going to be toast, as well, I think.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_00]: And then, Cleo Mack was really, he was like the game record for the Chargers, which is what you expect.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_00]: They were moving him all over the place.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_00]: So that's something when the Jaguars get to that one.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: They'll have to deal with for sure.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: But those are just some quick thoughts on chargers and chiefs.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I have the Jaguars win in this one 31 to 20.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think if they didn't make any big mistakes in this game, several big mistakes, they could win this game by a lot more.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're much better coached and more talented.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: And that's no slight to Dave Canales, as you ever owe.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're like a middle of the pack coaching type of group.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're good.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think they connect with their players, all that stuff, but I think Liam Cohen takes it to the next level.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: Offensive coaching wise, I believe in Anthony Camponele as well.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to see him in his first action as a defensive coordinator, you know, in the regular season in the NFL.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_00]: And I just think they have better talent.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: Straight up.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: So, let me know what y'all think in the comment section below.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all have a good one.
