  through Knoxville, TN and I see the Rusty Wallace billboards

  everywhere. It looks like you got a lot of

  dealerships. And then of course, the second

  part is we're down here in Ormond Beach at the Broken Spoke

  your and Steven motorcycles company, Southern Country

  Customs. So give everybody, if you don't

  mind, what you up to. Well, you talk about the

  motorcycles, that's been a lot of fun.

  That's been a lot of fun. I do not own Southern Country

  Customs. Steven owns 100% of it now.

  Wow, that's news to me. Awesome.

  Well, you know, we got started a long time ago, but I turned the

  business over to Steven couple years ago at least and it's all

  his. But I, you know, I love going

  with him to all the rallies. I support him.

  We build all kind of cool bikes. I'm at the office back in North
• 2:33
  Carolina about every day that I can be.

  But that is just a blast. I don't think I've had more fun

  doing that than anything. And my wife loves it, the family
• 2:45
  loves it, and it's just really, really cool.

  Now. People always want to know what

  I'm doing. We never see it, man.

  We never see it. Believe it or not, I'm out

  there, but I'm just doing different things instead of

  being at a racetrack every single week.

  I got 6 grandkids now and they all like having some fun.

  There's four dogs here. They they jump up and they like,

  I see two of the dogs. They're all over you.

  We got, you know, many dogs. I got how many?

  Selena, Selena, Selena. She's a sweetheart.

  Oh yeah, And her all Chihuahuas are mixes, but yeah, Patty's the

  one behind it all. I mean, she loves dogs.

  She loves taking care of animals and you know, it's saving them.

  We got, we got one dog that's blind.

  We got one dog that's got three legs.

  She gave one a bath last night, was that?

  That's nugget Nugget, little bitty dog.

  Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, we do that.

  But you know, the motorcycle thing, I tell you, I've had

  backed at it. We do these rallies, we don't do

  many. We do Daytona in March, that's
• 4:03
  the biggest, biggest 1:00 and then we do the Sturgis
• 4:06
  Motorcycle Rally. Then we do the Lake Lake at
• 4:09
  Ozarks, Missouri. That's a really good one.

  It's got better and better. And then we come back to Daytona
• 4:14
  in October and do that one. Let me interrupt you once.

  I was at Circa of the America in Austin and I saw Mike Helton.

  Mike Helton really enjoys his time with you.

  You do a lot for the NASCAR Foundation and MM Helton's face

  got real serious and he goes, oh, Rusty's wonderful.

  So I'll be with you in Sturgis. I know we're at Bike week in

  Daytona, but since we don't get to talk to you a lot, tell me
• 4:42
  about the Rusty Wall Rusty's ride in.

  Sturgis the Rusty Ride is official name of is the Buffalo
• 4:50
  Chips Rusty Wallace Ride presented by Harley-Davidson.

  And what happened was the Buffalo Chip is the world's
• 4:57
  largest biker bar with the biggest entertainers in the
• 5:00
  world show up at that place to entertain.

  There's 20 to 30,000 people a night at the Buffalo Chip.

  They called me about nine years ago and said hey, we'd love to
• 5:11
  you be in our ride that we do. It's called the Legends Ride and
• 5:17
  you like to we'd like you to be like a Grand Marshall.

  Someone out there had a lot of fun.

  Did it. It's kind of low key.
• 5:24
  I was staying low key, but they got a hold of me.
• 5:26
  The owner did. So you ever thought ever thought
• 5:28
  about doing your own ride? I said no, I never really did.

  He said, well Mandy said I love your attitude, I love how much
• 5:35
  you love motorcycles and, and I said I'd love for you to have
• 5:40
  your own ride. I said all right, what do you
• 5:42
  got in mind? He said, how about we call it
• 5:43
  the Buffalo Chips Rusty Wallace ride.
• 5:46
  I'm like wow, OK, let's do it. So we took off.
• 5:51
  Now we've been doing this will be the 8th year for the ride and
• 5:55
  the first year we raised about $125,000.
• 5:57
  And by the way, half of the money goes to the NASCAR
• 6:01
  Foundation supporting all children's causes and needs.
• 6:04
  The other half of the money goes to Special Olympics, Special
• 6:07
  Olympics of South Dakota. That's a really neat deal there
• 6:11
  too. So we just take the money right
• 6:13
  down the middle and we we don't keep a dime for nothing.
• 6:16
  So it raised about 120 grand in first year, second year about
• 6:19
  150 grand. It went to 180 grand and it was
• 6:24
  a good, good ride, but we knew it could be better.
• 6:26
  So Mike Skinner got a hold of me and Skinner, Skinner, Mike
• 6:31
  Skinner got a hold of me. So I know my wife Angie could
• 6:33
  really help. She's a go getter.
• 6:35
  So and she took over operating the ride and Oh my God, the
• 6:40
  first year she got involved we raised like $470,000.
• 6:45
  She's really good. And then last year we raised
• 6:47
  $507,000 big money. And so this will be the 8th year
• 6:54
  it's going to take off from Deadwood, SD on August the 14th,
• 6:58
  the day of my birthday. Oh, damn, about that.

  Yeah, I'll be there. I'll be there.

  And Rusty has me come for dinner like on Wednesday night and I'm

  like Vanna White. I go around the room because you

  always do some nice things, like you make a special wine bottles

  engraved, and I'll go around the room showing who does that for

  you. I think those are great

  keepsakes. ZD Wine Company.

  We use ZD Wines and there's a local engraver there in South

  Dakota that does the engraving on the.

  Bottles. Those are really nice.

  Well, they, you know, we're trying to do everything we can

  to raise as much money as possible in each one of those
• 7:38
  bottles sold for $2000 at least that wasn't great.

  So we raised a lot of money doing that stuff and gosh, I

  tell you. But you know this whole

  motorcycle. Thing.

  Yeah, it started like 19 years ago, Yeah, when NASCAR vice

  president Mike Hilton took me and a host of other drivers to

  Sturgis to ride motorcycles. We would leave after the Pocono

  race and one of the races I won at Pocono, I won Pocono then got
• 8:05
  right to. Got it.

  Yeah, got into NASA. It's got to feel good.

  One Pocono got in the NASCAR airplane went straight out to
• 8:11
  South Dakota, Sturgis and rode for four days.

  We did that for a long time, but now that's 19 years ago.

  Yeah. 19 years. Oh, Cabo Dan, my buddy Dan.

  Yeah, Dan runs. OK, so this is coffee with Kenny

  like you are growing in leaps and bounds.

  Right now we got 10 dealerships, wow and 520 some employees right

  now. Holy moly.

  You know, we got 3 Kias, 2 two Hyundai, Toyota, Honda,

  Chevrolet, Nissan, the list goes on and on and it's been really,

  really good for us. GMC Truck We're getting ready to

  build our 11th dealership right now, A brand new two-story Kia

  dealership in Morristown, TN. Those Kias, man, Tellurides,

  yeah. They're beautiful, those.

  Tellurides are awesome. And by the way, this, our 10th

  store was our new Hyundai, our second Hyundai store also in

  Morristown, TN where I actually we started the business.

  My God, thirty. I've been in the car business

  now for 35 years with my great partner Ray Huffaker and he is

  like a superstar. The original.

  When I hear Morristown, I think of Rusty Wallace.

  Pontiac. Yeah, that brand back in the

  day. And how people say, how did all

  the dealerships end up in Tennessee?

  It all happened because of all the wins I had in Bristol.

  Yeah, nine wins. And what happened was there was

  a Pontiac dealer, they would come to the races really like

  the way I drove. And with the victories, they got

  a hold of me through a guy named Remember Chopper with MRM Oh.

  Oh, he just passed. Away.

  Jim Phelps. Jim passed away.

  Yeah, man, I miss him already. Yeah, about a week.

  Ago he used to want to start this whole thing.

  He he got me and Ray together and we started this business

  partnership 35 years ago. Damn, he said.

  You ever thought about the car business?

  I said, yeah, I'm a car guy, but I don't know crap about the

  business. So we started learning about the

  business. He had one store.

  Then we got a second store, which was a Honda, a Honda

  dealership. Then we got a third store, which

  it was a Toyota store and it went on and on and on and on.

  But it's 30, five years ago now. Yeah, we got a lot of billboards

  up. There a.

  Lot of billboards in Knoxville, TN area in Morristown, TN and

  that's how I ended up being in Tennessee.

  Look at there, 11 minutes and 50 seconds.

  That is about as much as we can go.

  But boy, when they're this good, we can keep going longer.
