- 3:36Carter. As we open our story, Nick is talking with a young friend
- 3:40of his whom Patsy has just brought in. But if it's not a criminal
- 3:44case, John, why come to me? Because it's the next thing to
- 3:46it, Nick, Well, all right, let's hear it. I better
- 3:50take notes, Patsy in case we want them later. Go ahead, Nick,
- 3:53I killed a man this morning. What always an accident, of course,
- 3:57but he's dead just the same. Tell me about it. What happened?
- 4:00Well, I was shooting in the old gravel pit back of my place
- 4:01on the highway. I've been shooting there a lot, getting ready for the
- 4:04pistol meat this coming up. Well, this morning I was practicing out there
- 4:08when one of my slugs hit something in ricocheted. I never dreamed that ricochet
- 4:12could get out of the gravel pit, but this one did and traveled as
- 4:15far as the mark was the state you mean that Clara Marky the day,
- 4:17that's right, And the man I killed was her son, Randolph. Well,
- 4:21that certainly ought to make front page copy. I should say, so
- 4:25Betsy got me her file out of the fireroom. Coming right up, now,
- 4:29John, where was Randolph when it was hit? At the back of
- 4:30the estate, helping one of his nephews rebuild the fence. The nephew,
- 4:34Dave Barton, said he heard the shot and then the whine of the bullet,
- 4:36and then Randolph fell over. He died instantly. Our file on Clara
- 4:41Markley. Thanks Betsy. Now let's see lives in a rambling, old red
- 4:46brick mansion a mile out of town along the highway. No servants. That's
- 4:51funny. With all her money, relatives living with her take the place of
- 4:56servants. Her sound Randolph X as general handy man on the estate. She
- 5:01handles all business matters herself. Jolly. Also, I should say, no
- 5:05one ever accused old Claire Marcus of being jolly. I've tried to get better
- 5:09acquainted with her granddaughter, Teresa, but the old lady won't let me take
- 5:12her out or go there to see her. I only know Teresa from what
- 5:15little I've seen her around town a few times I've driven her home. Now
- 5:18that I've killed her father, I suppose I'll never see her again, wouldn't
- 5:21be in love with her with you? No, do you think I can
- 5:26be sued for Randolph's dead? What's the coroner's verdict? You know? Well,
- 5:30he told me he was going to report it was an accident. John,
- 5:32How far is it from the graph a bit where Randolph was killed about
- 5:35a quarter mile the Brundage places in between. Old man Brundage was out picking
- 5:41berries in the back of his place. He says he heard the bullet whine
- 5:44over his head. I suppose there's no doubt about the time. No,
- 5:46No, sheriff checked on that Randolph was killed while I was shooting in the
- 5:49pit, No mistake about that. I see where the bullet identified is coming
- 5:54from your gun? Not exactly. It was too badly mutilated, the sheriff
- 5:58said, to be identified as having come from any particular gun. It was
- 6:00all flattened and twisted. Well, from what you tell me, John,
- 6:03Folks, as if you're responsible all right for the funeral expenses and so on?
- 6:08At least, oh, I know that, Nick. I just want
- 6:10to be sure I don't get hooked for what money I've got saved by damned
- 6:13suit later on. That's why I want you to investigate this for me right
- 6:16away. I want to have it proved an accident so that nothing can come
- 6:19up later to put me in the wrong more than I am now as I
- 6:21say what you mean, John, you want me to be sure that we
- 6:25know now all there is to know. Then we file that information away and
- 6:29hope we never need it. Right. That's it exactly, Nick, Will
- 6:31you do it? I certainly, John, if nothing else on my hands
- 6:33for the moment. Shouldn't be a long job or a difficult one. At
- 6:36first. I want to have a look at your grab a bit all right.
- 6:40I won't be there, but mother, I'll let you in. I
- 6:43I don't suppose there's any chance I didn't file the shot that got rand on.
- 6:46The chances are you did, John. I want to determine the degree
- 6:50of negligence involved. If there's none on your part, you can hardly be
- 6:54held liable for the accident. Okay, Nick, I'll leave it to you,
- 7:00right John, And don't worry. I think I can clean this up
- 7:02for you. It doesn't seem possible that a forty five bullet could get out
- 7:15of that gravel pit, and especially not going fast enough to travel a quarter
- 7:19of a mile afterwards, Strange things happened with bullets sometimes, Patsy, I
- 7:23suppose you heard what mister Browdie said. Yes, according to him, about
- 7:27as many bullets come out of the gravel bitter stay In did. He's heard
- 7:30them whizzing over his head many a time, and he was probably exaggerating,
- 7:33but there's no question but what he heard. The one that killed Randolph Mark
- 7:36was this morning, said it went only about a foot or so over his
- 7:40head. Is that possible only? Oh? Yes, indeed perfectly possible.
- 7:44And from the way John May's target is set up in the pit, a
- 7:46bullet that did get loose might very well come right across Bruddage's berry patch.
- 7:50Well, I suddenly hope you'll find some way to prove mister May didn't do
- 7:54it. He's such a nice fellow. I don't expect to prove that,
- 7:57Patsy, you don't. By the way, how well do you know Teresa
- 8:01Marquis not too well? Think you could use her name to get us in
- 8:05to look over the grounds case the old ag objects. Oh gosh, Nick,
- 8:09that's a big order. Nobody has any say around there but all Claire
- 8:11herself. So I understand. I'll try it. What can we lose?
- 8:16I had a girl that's attack him from all sides at once. It's so
- 8:28nice of you to say us, Miss Marquis. This is Nick Carter.
- 8:31He's acting for John May. You can tell John he's made it. We
- 8:35won't make him any trouble for the death of my father. I knew you'd
- 8:39feel like that. You can also tell him that I never want to see
- 8:43him again. Teresa, I'm afraid you're blaming John May for something he couldn't
- 8:46help. We've just been to look over his gravel bit and it seems utterly
- 8:50impossible that a bullet could get out of there and travel so far after getting
- 8:54out. I'm sure you're trying to tell her what happened wasn't May's fault.
- 8:58You can get going right now, How do you do I'm merely trying to
- 9:03find out just how it did happen, mister Carter. But this is my
- 9:05cousin, Dave Barton. He was with my father when he was killed.
- 9:09You're in charge of mister Barton. I'd like your permission to examine the grounds
- 9:11around where Randolph was killed. Nobody's got the right to say who can snoop
- 9:15around here? But Claire Marcus herself. Surely you could have no objection to
- 9:18you. Let to get out. If you won't show mister Carter around,
- 9:22I will. I know grandmother wouldn't mind. You're a fool, Teresa,
- 9:24But well, come on, I think I can do anything else for you.
- 9:28Let me know. We were putting up a new fence here. Brandy
- 9:45and I. We've been working out here for several days. We could hear
- 9:48Young May shooting down in that pit of his all the time. This morning
- 9:50it was different. The shots sounded the same, only this time I heard
- 9:54the wine of the bullet right after it. There here's where Randy was standing.
- 10:01I was down there the time I got to him, was dead in
- 10:05the door, Nail. I could get my hands on that Young May garden,
- 10:09that fence over there, about thirty feet the edge of your property.
- 10:11Yes, the bush is there on Brundage's side. He was picking berries out
- 10:16there somewhere this morning when Randy was killed. Nick, would you hear the
- 10:18shot before you heard the wine of the bullet going back? Certainly, patri
- 10:22he would. With an Army forty five, which John was using, because
- 10:26with the size of the bullet, its velocity is slower than that a sound,
- 10:28so you'll hear the report before you get the bullet somewhat too. Grandmother
- 10:33is very ill. We sent for the doctor, but she heard that you
- 10:37were here, and for some strange reason, wants to see you right now,
- 10:41says Mark West. Wants to see me. You sure, very sure,
- 10:45And mister Carter, she insisted, can you come right away please?
- 10:56I've heard about you, Nick Carter. I never thought i'd have any reason
- 11:01to hire you, but it's a strange world. I think Heaven sent you
- 11:05here today. Well, missus Mark Wis, I've been called many things,
- 11:09but Heaven sent no. You are this time. My time has come at
- 11:15last. I know it that the Sudden always said a shock would finish me,
- 11:18and Randolph's death has done it. I know nonsense, Missus Mark Wis,
- 11:24you'll live for years yet rubbish, I'll be dead by tomorrow, and
- 11:28I I want you to make the will before I go. That's why I
- 11:33wanted to see you alone like this. I'm not a lawyer. I know
- 11:37what you are, and I know you're honest. You you can draw up
- 11:41a will, can't you? Yes? Of course I can very well then
- 11:45do it. I've never had a will, and I want one. Very
- 11:50well. You'll tell me what this position you want made of your property.
- 11:52I'll row it up for you. That's easy. Half my estate goes to
- 11:56Teresa. The other half is to be divided between my other five grandchildren I
- 12:01see, and who's to be executive. Theresa is the only one of the
- 12:05whole bunch i'd trust. Of course, I'll have to have the names of
- 12:09the five grandchildren push Will, Push Will. They're Buttons, David, Burst
- 12:16and Jack. The twins Myrtle and Hazel. Very well, missus marquis,
- 12:20I'll have this ready for your signature in the morning. Well, morning,
- 12:22nothing. You'll have it ready for me just as soon as you can get
- 12:26it written down on paper. There's an old typewriter in the library you can
- 12:30use, Nanda. Hurry up, mister Carter, and let's get this over
- 12:33with me. May I come in neck? You've been writing out the old
- 12:52ladies will? What makes you think that? I can't think of any other
- 12:56reason why you should lock yourself up in this musty old library and spend an
- 12:58hour pounding on a typewriter. You're quite right, Patsy, I'd keep it
- 13:03to yourself, does she take good care, Teresa. None of your business,
- 13:07my inquisitive young assistant. All right, suit yourself. I came to
- 13:11tell you the doctor's here, he says. You'll have to wait before you
- 13:13can see Clara. She's lapsed into a coma. Why so she may come
- 13:16out and she may not, But if she does, her mind will be
- 13:20clear enough to sign the wills in case that was what you wanted. What
- 13:24a bunch of mind readers around here. Okay, I'll wait. Oh,
- 13:28by the way, Nick, we're invited to dine with the Bartons tonight.
- 13:31Oh good, I'm getting hungry. You haven't seen the rest of them yet.
- 13:33Maybe you won't be so happy about it when you do. Why you've
- 13:37seen them, I'll say I have. Besides Dave Barton, the man we
- 13:41met when we first got here, there's Forrest. He's done sort of a
- 13:45dope, apparently. And there's Jack, a rather good looking kid of about
- 13:48twenty. And last, but not least, there are the twins Merphle and
- 13:52Hazel. They cute, cute. There's thirtieth. They're a day they look
- 13:58forty and act fifty. Are a pair and no mistake. And incidentally,
- 14:03we're eating in the kitchen if it interests you where we eat a secondary Patsy,
- 14:05it's the eating part of it that really interests me. That kitchen is
- 14:09something too. I just saw it the most homelike part of the whole house,
- 14:13cozy and comfortable. I don't think it's a bit bigger than Madison Square
- 14:18garden, and with a shotgun behind the door to add just the right touch
- 14:22a passy. I want you to take care of this will. I've drawn
- 14:24up a moment old Clare comes to have her sign it, and if you're
- 14:28fond of Teresa, pray that the old lady does come to before she dies.
- 14:33All right, Nick, I'll take care of it. Good. Now
- 14:35I'm going to call John May tell him to come here to the Marqui's estate
- 14:39about eight o'clock. Well, why do that? Nick? You may start
- 14:41something maybe, but I think it's the wise thing to do. I want
- 14:46you to find Teresa and persuade her to go and meet him in the drive
- 14:48when he blows his horn twice. Now that's important, okay, Nick,
- 14:52She's to meet him in the drive when he blows his horn twice. I
- 15:09still don't get it, Nick, couldn't you find a better time and place
- 15:11for me to meet Teresa. A better time perhaps, but not a better
- 15:15place. John, I want you to take Teresa away from here at once.
- 15:20Are you kidding? I am not. They add sir that you'll be
- 15:22saving her life to good morning. She may be in deadly peril. Lave
- 15:26me, okay, Nick, I'll take her if she comes. John,
- 15:33Teresa, Oh, darling John, which is my cue? Early this morning
- 15:46a shot rang out and Randolph Marks fell dead once again. A shot has
- 15:50startled the Marks household. Who is dead this time and what will be its
- 15:54effect on Nick Carter and his attempts to learn the real facts behind Randolph's death

- 17:18our story. The report of the shotgun, which startled Nick and the rest
- 17:22of the Marquis household, seemed to come from the room where Clara Marquis lay
- 17:25dying. Nick and Patsy raced to the door of the room, only to
- 17:27find the twins Myrtle and Hazel standing in the doorway, staring fascinatedly at the
- 17:33old lady's bed. What happened? Ghastly face has been blown away? Why
- 17:38she's for doctor Sutton, Doctor Suckon? What's happened to him? Nick?
- 17:42Why I'll blow in the back of the head, I should say, doctor,
- 17:48what's happened to you? Doctor? I don't know. I alone here
- 17:53with the patient piece. Something hit me, that's all I know. I
- 17:57don't even know where whoever hit me came from? Was whoever hits you did
- 18:02for the old lady? All right? Did either of your girls see anything?
- 18:06No? They are your brothers. Why were they when this happened?
- 18:10Oh? Come on, you might as well tell me if you know?
- 18:14All right, I'm going to call the Sheriff's office. You suppose you too,
- 18:18could sort of stay here with the body until someone gets here. Will
- 18:22stay? Well, there's nothing more I can do for her now, and
- 18:26go get some fresh air. One to step outside with means to Cutter?
- 18:32Why, of course it'll be right by you. Oh, Patsy, Will
- 18:34you pack up the doctor's things and bring them out to the car. All
- 18:38right, doctor, and let's get out of here. Terrible thing, mister
- 18:42Cutter, terrible, Yes, it is, old lady. She wouldn't have
- 18:48blasted the night anyway. What I wanted to tell you was this, Betsy
- 18:52said. It was very important to Theresa to get that will signed. So
- 18:56I gave the old lady an injection which revived go alone and to read the
- 19:00will, and she signed it, and Patsy and I witnessed it was that
- 19:03right, perfect, doctor, perfect? You have the will now? No,
- 19:07I gave it to Betsy. What well you trust to do with it?
- 19:11So I did. Clara's murderer finds Patsy has it. Patsy will be
- 19:14the next victim. Come on, wonders to still in Clara's room? Or
- 19:18we left her? I didn't know I should have Patsy. Patsy, she's
- 19:22not here. Either of you twins know where she went? No, she
- 19:26left. We thought she was with you, didn't we merdle Yes, we
- 19:32thought she was with you. Come on, doctor, I've got to search
- 19:34the house. There's no time to lose doctor. We've been through this house
- 19:45from cellar to radic. She's not here anywhere. I don't like it.
- 19:51How about the carriage house. There's a light upstairs there A yes, so
- 19:56there is. Well, let's have a look up there. That's fun.
- 20:00John May's car is still here. Didn't take Teresa away? After all?
- 20:03I wonder why? I hope we find Patsy up here. Merciful heavens bid
- 20:12and stop that let John alone. You keep out of this. This dirty
- 20:17murderer is getting what coming to him. The law won't do nothing to John
- 20:19May, but we will widen. If you touch him again, I'll shoot
- 20:22to kill. You. Wouldn't have the Nils plenty of nerve for cors like
- 20:26you. All right, you're on top of now, but we'll get him
- 20:30later. See if we don't, are you too? Bors and Jack let
- 20:33Terrasa go? All right? That god guy got up her mouth. Take
- 20:37quick about it, mister Carr, I thank Heaven you've come. Oh doctor,
- 20:44you better have a look at me. He's pretty badly beating up.
- 20:47Only thing holding him up with the ropes tying him to that post is they
- 20:52must have hit John at least twenty times. What happened, Teresa? They
- 20:56got John right after you left. It made me come with him. They
- 21:00brought us up here and tied John to the post so that he couldn't defend
- 21:03himself. Then they gagged me. You mean that all three of them,
- 21:07Borist, Jake and Dave had been with you since right after I left you
- 21:11with John. Yes, why has anything happened? Take care of thanking doctor.
- 21:17I've got a job to do. How where is she? Why have
- 21:32you gon her? What have you done with her? And in the closet?
- 21:36I suppose what why that son? Drop that gun. Don't be a
- 21:41fool. Take that shotgun out of the middle of my back. You're the
- 21:45fool. Drop that gun very well? Yeah it is. The body in
- 21:52the closet is that of old Claire? I suppose you must have Patsy under
- 21:56that sheet on the bed. Yes, what have you done with? Not
- 22:00much? We had to twist her arm a little to make her tell us
- 22:03where she puts the will. That's all, isn't it, Mertle? Yes,
- 22:07we have it now, it's torn in little pieces. All right,
- 22:11you've got what you wanted. Now let us go. No, we got
- 22:15us a lawyer too. We know you and your girl could go to court
- 22:18and tell what the will was, and that would be as good as a
- 22:21will. Yes, we aim to take care of you both. You can't
- 22:25get away with us, I warn you, Yes we can. Easy.
- 22:29We'll say Teresa did it, Yes we will. You didn't, suspect dosneither
- 22:33will anyone else. We'll blame Teresa. Well, Patsy, I've heard about
- 22:38it enough, haven't you. Oh you don't sorry to hit a woman.
- 22:45All right, Patsy, that takes care of the twins for now. Now
- 22:49let's see what you look like under that sheet. Wait a minute, Wait
- 22:55a minute, we'll I get this gag out of your mind. I thought
- 23:00you'd never get here. How'd you ever get away from that gun she was
- 23:03holding in your back? I've studied command of tactics, Betsy. One thing
- 23:07I learned was that if someone is holding a gun at your back, you
- 23:08can twist away from the gun faster than then someone can pull the trigger.
- 23:12Try it sometime, thanks, I'll take your word for it, gladly.
- 23:15So, with Hazel or Myrtle not cold from the recoil of that ten gage
- 23:19shotgun and Myrtle or Hazel out cold from the sock on the jar, I
- 23:23was forced to give it. We have peace, temporarily peace, blessed peace,
- 23:29even temporary peace. I hope the sheriff gets here pretty soon. Now.
- 23:33I'd like to get rid of these two vipers vi viparesses before they try
- 23:40biting someone else. We had to pulled completely at first, Sheriff. I
- 23:55didn't believe either of those twins could handle as big a gun as a ten
- 23:56gage shotgun. Yet I felt sure, as soon as I saw that shotgun
- 24:00that the forty five bullet that killed Randolph Marquis came from its barrel. But
- 24:04why old man Brandage said he heard it wine over his head. Well,
- 24:07the wine of a ricocheting bullet, John is one of the most deceptive sounds
- 24:11in the world. You can't tell really where it comes from. But I
- 24:15was right with Randy. I didn't hear any gun fired close. Was fired
- 24:18from the gravel pit, and the bullet came whining. Of course it did,
- 24:21Barton. The twins were clever enough to pick a mutilated bullet out of
- 24:23the gravel pit where John May shoots. They loaded it into a ten gage
- 24:27shelf and fired it from behind the bushes On branded his property. The bushes
- 24:33acted as his silencer. Probably both Brandage and Dave heard the wine that's set
- 24:37up and assumed it was a ricochet from the pit. Who'd ever think a
- 24:40woman would figure out a way to load a ten gage with a banged up
- 24:42bullet and then lay for a guy and shoot when somebody else shoots a quarter
- 24:47mile away. Why did they do it? Mister Carter? Money Teresa money,
- 24:51they'd inherit from your grandmother Clara Marquis. But I don't get it,
- 24:53Nick. Howard Randolph being dead benefit the twins. His daughter would get his
- 24:59shoe, wouldn't she not? If Claire didn't leave a will. That's the
- 25:03point around which everything else revolves, Patsy. But how did that work out?
- 25:06Mate? According to the law of the state, if the old lady
- 25:10left no will, Randolph would inherit one half the estate, and the five
- 25:14Bartons would inherit the other half, or one tenth each. And if Randolph
- 25:17was dead. With Randolph dead, the five Bartons and Teresa, Randolph's daughter
- 25:21would each inherit equally or one sixth of the estate apeace. How much difference
- 25:25would that make? We'll figure it out, Pantsy. If the estate amounts
- 25:29to three million dollars, as I understand it does, each twin would get
- 25:33three hundred thousand dollars if Randolf were alive, but with him dead, they
- 25:37would each get five hundred thousand dollars or two hundred thousand dollars more. Wouldn't
- 25:41that be worthwhile for them? Gosh, that is some difference, isn't it.
- 25:45So when they found that old Clara was about to make a will,
- 25:47they had to stop it. Of course, the new Teresa was a favorite
- 25:51that would get most of the money, so they killed Claire before she could
- 25:53sign the will. I drew up. Well, then they must have found
- 25:56out afterwards that old missus Marklis had signed the will before or she was killed.
- 26:00How they learned that now that John will never know. Somebody said too
- 26:04much or too little. At any rate, they found out just enough to
- 26:07know that Patsy had their will and that it was signed, So they bited
- 26:11that time and got it away from Patsy. Then they laid for me.
- 26:15They get rid of any possible witness to the existence of a will. Do
- 26:18you suppose they would have killed me, mister Carter, No, Teresa,
- 26:22not if they had got rid of Patsy and me. I asked John to
- 26:25come here and take you away because I didn't know which way the cat was
- 26:26going to jump, and I was afraid the killer would try to nullify the
- 26:30effects of the will by killing you. But fortunately the dear twins elected Patsy
- 26:34and me as the victims, and you for the logical suspect. Well,
- 26:37anyway, I'm glad you asked John to come over here. No matter what
- 26:41the reason was. It settled things for him and me very nicely. It's
- 26:45just the way I wanted it to be, Nick, although I hadn't hoped
- 26:48to get it for a long time yet, which proves that you never know
- 26:52where your blessings are coming from or something or anyway. Good luck to you
- 26:56both. In just a moment, Nick and Patsy will bring you a preview
- 27:07of next week's exciting case. But first, here's the suggestion. On a

- 28:34now let's hear from Nick Cartter himself. What about it? Nick, have
- 28:40you an exciting story for next week? Well, next week, Ken,
- 28:42I want to tell you what happened when I stopped off in a little town
- 28:45upstate to tell a rookie cops family how sorry they were that he'd been killed
- 28:48in line of duty. Well, that doesn't sound very exciting to me.
- 28:52It was what happened after Nick stopped off there that makes the story. He
- 28:56found a household rule by fast, fear and hate, a mad old woman
- 29:00at the head of it who was convinced that she had been divinely appointed to
- 29:03set the world right. Oh that's very different, Nick, Where did you
- 29:07come into it? Nicked up the well laid, planned to commit wholesale murder,
- 29:11save the daughter of the House of Fortune, running into the million just
- 29:14because the killer forgot to quote the right Bible verse at the right time.
- 29:18What do you call it? And I for an Eye or the Mystery of
- 29:22the Upstate Murders. And that's all for now, So long, so long,
- 29:26everybody solong to you both, Nick and Patsy. We'll be seeing you
- 29:29again next week. Next week, at the same time, listen to another
- 29:44curious experience of Nick Carter Master Detective entitled and I for an Eye or Nick
- 29:51Carter and the Mystery of the Upstate Murders. Nick Carter Master Detective is featured
- 30:02in Street and Smith magazines. Lon Clark is starred as Nick with Helen Chotis
- 30:06Patsy. Original music is played by Lou White, and the programs are written
- 30:11and directed by Jack McGregor. Nick Carter Master Detective is presented each week at
- 30:17this time and over these same stations by the three Great Linux Home Bright News,
- 30:21Linux Clear Gloss Varnish, Linux Cream Polish and Linax Self Polishing Wax created
- 30:26by Acme America's great producer of ACME Fine Quality Paints. This is Ken Powell
- 30:33speaking for the thousands of Linux dealers all over America and saying, so long
- 30:37until next week. This is mutual welcome MAC certainly an involved scheme. I
- 31:02do have to admit that anytime somebody bets on Nick Carter not being willing to
- 31:10do something or not having the guts to do something, they really are placing
- 31:15a very poor beat. As he continued to show in this episode. I
- 31:19actually will say for myself that I suspected the twins all along. They were
- 31:26just acting so sinister throughout the story, though I guess Nick did have his
- 31:33own point for why he didn't suspect them all Right. Well, now we
- 31:37turn to listener comments and feedback, and we have this from Matthew, and
- 31:44Matthew writes in at the end of every show, I always enjoy to hear
- 31:48your criticism of what you thought of the show, and always seemed to agree
- 31:51on and mention something that I didn't pick up. I couldn't ask for a
- 31:55better host. Keep up the great work at him. What are your thoughts
- 31:57on the Avengers with Johnson? If you ever can even consider him a detective
- 32:02and we'll ever showcase the series. Thank you well, thanks so much for
- 32:07the question, and I'll be honest with you, Matthew. There are three
- 32:10categories of detective programs. There are those which I have obsessively watched every episode
- 32:16or in the process of doing some. There are those that I saw as
- 32:21a child growing up and have some remembrance of. And then there are those
- 32:25I don't really know about, and The Avengers unfortunately falls into that category.
- 32:30I tend to be very much a completest and so I'll watch a series all
- 32:36the way through before I take a look at something else, and so I've
- 32:40not quite gotten to The Avengers. I've heard some interesting things about it and
- 32:45would certainly be willing to watch it, but yeah, I could not answer
- 32:49that question in terms of showcasing the program. The only Avengers radio series that
- 32:54would be a possibility was the South African radio version of The Avengers, and
- 33:04since I am unfamiliar with South African copyright law, I pretty much wouldn't do
- 33:09a South African program. But thank you so much with suggestion, and I'll
- 33:15keep it in mind. There were so many great programs in the nineteen sixties
- 33:19that I'd love and even some of the seventies I'd love to really watch through.
- 33:25Well, that will do it for today. We will be back tomorrow
- 33:30with yours truly, Johnny Dowler and Manhunt, and then join us back next
- 33:34Thursday for another episode of Nick Carter. In the meantime, send your comments
