- 0:08Speaker 1: Hi, this is Shawnee Smith and you're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 0:20Speaker 2: It's showtime. The following feature has been rated R by
- 0:24Speaker 2: the Motion Picture Association of America. It is intended for
- 0:27Speaker 2: mature audiences and parental discretion is advised.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 1:06Speaker 4: I'm the babysitter. He's not a real babysitter.
- 1:09Speaker 5: He's a do-whatever-I-say-or-I'll-kill-you type of babysitter.
- 1:22Speaker 6: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown. I'm Brian.
- 1:24Speaker 7: I'm Misty.
- 1:25Speaker 8: I'm Jake.
- 1:26Speaker 6: And we are back at the bastion of awesomeness.
- 1:28Speaker 7: Yes, we are.
- 1:29Speaker 6: We were just so excited to get back into it
- 1:34Speaker 6: that we decided to continue on and watch a movie.
- 1:37Speaker 7: And I was just super comfy and I didn't want
- 1:39Speaker 7: to get up.
- 1:41Speaker 6: So a whole other episode. There you go. So that
- 1:45Speaker 6: was one of the other things in putting this little
- 1:47Speaker 6: 2020 reunion together. Because one of the, I don't know
- 1:54Speaker 6: if it was one of the last ones. I don't know.
- 1:56Speaker 6: It's been a while since we were here. We've watched
- 1:59Speaker 6: at least one since that.
- 2:00Speaker 7: I need to make a quick amendment to the last episode.
- 2:05Speaker 7: I have Phantasm 4 on VHS, and I don't want
- 2:09Speaker 7: anybody to get like, oh no, Misty, no.
- 2:11Speaker 6: 4 is way older, because I remember watching it on VHS.
- 2:15Speaker 6: So 4 did come out at least a long time ago.
- 2:19Speaker 6: I think it was still a delay past that 1, 2,
- 2:22Speaker 6: and 3.
- 2:23Speaker 7: I just wanted to clarify in case anybody thought there's like, no.
- 2:27Speaker 7: phantasm 5 is not out on vhs.
- 2:29Speaker 6: Well see i assume they did like a retro vhs
- 2:32Speaker 6: release because some of them try to do that when
- 2:34Speaker 6: they're super cool and he has been making movies since
- 2:37Speaker 6: the vhs days so i thought maybe it was like
- 2:39Speaker 6: a special promo vhs he had made up so i
- 2:42Speaker 6: didn't really doubt it for geek reasons but i did
- 2:46Speaker 6: go over and look at it and it says four
- 2:47Speaker 6: so it.
- 2:48Speaker 7: Says ivy I got the phantasm IVs.
- 2:52Speaker 6: Is that a disease?
- 2:54Speaker 7: Maybe.
- 2:54Speaker 6: Is that what's taking over in 2021? The phantasm IV?
- 2:59Speaker 7: Couldn't be worse than we had so far. Anyways.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Anyways.
- 3:04Speaker 6: All right. So I assume there's plenty.
- 3:08Speaker 7: It's been quite some time because the first one came
- 3:10Speaker 7: out two years ago. Yeah.
- 3:12Speaker 6: Of the much math problems.
- 3:14Speaker 7: There was so much math.
- 3:15Speaker 6: There was a lot of math problems in this movie.
- 3:19Speaker 7: I think it legit did come out two years ago, though,
- 3:20Speaker 7: didn't it?
- 3:21Speaker 6: I think so. So yeah, we didn't do much last year.
- 3:25Speaker 6: I think we watched one in between then. So one
- 3:27Speaker 6: of our most recent episodes of sitting down to watch
- 3:30Speaker 6: a movie was the original The Babysitter. So now, once
- 3:35Speaker 6: we saw it was coming out, I was like, that
- 3:37Speaker 6: does seem like a good excuse for us to come
- 3:39Speaker 6: back and do a whole other episode.
- 3:41Speaker 7: Because I did love the first one.
- 3:43Speaker 6: And here we are.
- 3:44Speaker 9: It's time for Sofa Theater.
- 3:48Speaker 6: Growing up is worse than a near-death experience. I can
- 3:52Speaker 6: confidently tell you that.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Because two years ago, my babysitter and her friends tried
- 3:57Speaker 3: to kill me.
- 4:01Speaker 6: The worst part is, nobody believes me. And now, everybody
- 4:06Speaker 6: thinks I'm crazy. But I miss her. You're a weird
- 4:09Speaker 6: little dude with a crush on a murderous, fictitious babysitter.
- 4:11Speaker 6: We just gotta get you laid.
- 4:13Speaker 1: That's your advice?
- 4:14Speaker 9: That's what the f * * * just came out
- 4:15Speaker 9: my mouth, ain't it?
- 4:17Speaker 7: You're my best friend.
- 4:18Speaker 6: You're not crazy. It's this place.
- 4:21Speaker 1: We're all going to the.
- 4:22Speaker 6: Lake this weekend. Just come with me.
- 4:23Speaker 7: I already took my dad's car.
- 4:36Speaker 8: It's just you and me.
- 4:40Speaker 4: We're back!
- 4:47Speaker 8: Oh!
- 4:47Speaker 4: Let's go, Cole!
- 4:49Speaker 6: Oh!
- 4:49Speaker 4: You okay?
- 4:50Speaker 10: You look like you've seen a gorgeous black ghost.
- 4:53Speaker 7: Don't worry, guys.
- 4:55Speaker 11: I'm good.
- 4:56Speaker 12: Where's Sonya?
- 4:57Speaker 7: Getting cookies.
- 4:58Speaker 4: I want you all die!
- 4:59Speaker 7: We are dead.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Duh! Clearly you guys are into some heavy cosplay.
- 5:07Speaker 7: Just leave it be.
- 5:10Speaker 4: Oh, shit!
- 5:11Speaker 13: Oh, no!
- 5:12Speaker 7: It's all gonna get dumb again!
- 5:16Speaker 9: Update me on the Psycho Breakfast Club.
- 5:18Speaker 6: Basically, they're a blood cult, and they made a deal
- 5:21Speaker 6: with the devil. They only have three hours to complete
- 5:24Speaker 6: the ritual.
- 5:25Speaker 3: We could hide out till sunrise.
- 5:27Speaker 6: We finish this, we have to go back down to Limbo.
- 5:36Speaker 7: I love you, Cole.
- 5:45Speaker 4: Finally found my neck, Cole!
- 5:48Speaker 6: Could this night get any more erotic?
- 5:54Speaker 7: Hey, Cole.
- 5:56Speaker 11: You're my killer of the night!
- 5:59Speaker 6: I get killed first. That's some post-Jordan Peele era horror
- 6:02Speaker 6: movie progress.
- 6:04Speaker 7: And I'm not gonna lie, I love this movie.
- 6:13Speaker 6: What movie is it, you say? Well, this week's summer
- 6:16Speaker 6: theater feature is The Babysitter colon Killer Queen. The year
- 6:21Speaker 6: is 2020. See, this is what happens in 2020. They
- 6:25Speaker 6: let you make movies like Killer Queen. The plot, I
- 6:28Speaker 6: don't know, wait. The director. Is it McG? As I'm
- 6:32Speaker 6: sure we will go into, or at least I will, McG.
- 6:36Speaker 6: And the plot, according to IMDb, two years after Cole
- 6:41Speaker 6: survived a satanic blood cult, he's living another nightmare. high school,
- 6:45Speaker 6: and the demons from his past still making his life hell.
- 6:50Speaker 6: Oddly worded, as always, IMDb. Thank you. So, spoiler alert,
- 6:55Speaker 6: we're going to ruin the hell out of this. You
- 6:57Speaker 6: know that by now.
- 6:58Speaker 7: We do. That's what we're here for. That's what you're
- 7:00Speaker 7: here for. That's what we're all here for.
- 7:02Speaker 6: Go watch it. You probably already have that streaming service
- 7:06Speaker 6: and you can watch it for free, so might as well.
- 7:08Speaker 6: Why the hell not? Then you can hear us dive
- 7:10Speaker 6: into this mess and or fun It's both, really. So,
- 7:18Speaker 6: let's see. Where shall we begin?
- 7:23Speaker 7: Time discrepancies?
- 7:25Speaker 6: That's probably the main one.
- 7:27Speaker 7: What age are you typically a junior in high school?
- 7:30Speaker 6: Older than 12?
- 7:31Speaker 7: He's 14. He was 12 in the first one, right?
- 7:33Speaker 6: Yes, he was 12 in the first one, so two
- 7:34Speaker 6: years later, we're at 14. 14, should he be a junior? See,
- 7:42Speaker 6: if they at least made him super smart and he
- 7:44Speaker 6: was jumping up, skipping some grades, something like that, but
- 7:49Speaker 6: he's actually having horrible mental issues, so he probably is
- 7:53Speaker 6: not doing great in school. Why wouldn't they just make
- 7:56Speaker 6: him slightly younger so that it matches? Or why not
- 8:00Speaker 6: make this set four years in the future and make
- 8:02Speaker 6: it match?
- 8:03Speaker 14: Or five years.
- 8:04Speaker 6: Or any number of these readjustments that don't cause these
- 8:07Speaker 6: big problems. I don't think anybody thought about that. I did.
- 8:10Speaker 6: We did the whole damn movie. We kept going, but
- 8:13Speaker 6: why is he? I don't understand.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Maybe they already had it made and somebody was like.
- 8:17Speaker 6: Wait a minute.
- 8:18Speaker 7: And they were like, eh, fuck it.
- 8:20Speaker 6: We already put the title at the beginning that said
- 8:23Speaker 6: two years later. That's a lot of work to put
- 8:26Speaker 6: more words in the beginning of this movie. Never mind.
- 8:30Speaker 6: Let's double check the release on this. Kind of three-ish.
- 8:37Speaker 6: IMDb has The Babysitter as 2017. So within the plot
- 8:42Speaker 6: of the story two years, I guess it's more like
- 8:45Speaker 6: three in the real world.
- 8:48Speaker 7: I was just Googling McG and I just learned things
- 8:51Speaker 7: that I don't know that I knew, but if I did,
- 8:52Speaker 7: I forgot.
- 8:54Speaker 6: I've got a lot to say about McG, but go ahead.
- 8:57Speaker 7: He produced Sugar Ray's first album and co-wrote several of
- 9:00Speaker 7: the songs on their second. I'm not sure that I
- 9:04Speaker 7: knew that. I mean.
- 9:06Speaker 6: I don't know that I know that, but am I surprised,
- 9:09Speaker 6: first off, that someone named McG produced the Sugar Ray album?
- 9:13Speaker 6: Matt sounds about right. That McG produced the Sugar Ray. Yeah,
- 9:18Speaker 6: that seems about right, too, actually.
- 9:21Speaker 7: I touched Mark McGrath's underpants.
- 9:23Speaker 6: I figured that was also coming. We hear that every
- 9:26Speaker 6: single time.
- 9:28Speaker 7: Anytime I can work that in there, I want to
- 9:30Speaker 7: make sure nobody forgets. In 1997, he was awarded the
- 9:34Speaker 7: Pop Or the Billboard's Pop Video of the Year Award
- 9:37Speaker 7: for Smash Mouth's Walking on the Sun. And Music Video
- 9:41Speaker 7: Production Association's Pop Video of the Year Award for Sugar
- 9:45Speaker 7: Ray's Fly. Which, I don't even give a shit. Fly
- 9:49Speaker 7: is fucking rowdy.
- 9:50Speaker 6: Oh no, as much as I'll talk smack about Smash Mouth,
- 9:53Speaker 6: as everyone does, Sugar Ray, in their day, when they
- 9:57Speaker 6: did what they did well, they did it exceptionally.
- 10:00Speaker 9: Well.
- 10:01Speaker 6: So if you like that kind of music, that's an
- 10:03Speaker 6: awesome album.
- 10:04Speaker 7: He also is responsible for one of my favorite early
- 10:08Speaker 7: 2000s shows, which had my crush of 2002.
- 10:14Speaker 6: In the blurry 2002 era. As previously mentioned on the
- 10:18Speaker 6: previous episode.
- 10:19Speaker 7: According to the Wikipedia. In 2002, blah, blah, blah. Meanwhile,
- 10:23Speaker 7: he developed and co-created a television series with John McNamara
- 10:28Speaker 7: called Fastlane.
- 10:30Speaker 6: We knew that. Because that's the only reason you know
- 10:32Speaker 6: who McG is. It's because there was a Fastlane... I
- 10:36Speaker 6: loved Fastlane. I remember it.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Never even heard of it.
- 10:40Speaker 7: Oh, it was, oh.
- 10:41Speaker 6: I remember it, and I remember you being super worked
- 10:43Speaker 6: up about it.
- 10:44Speaker 7: I loved that show. Because it had Peter, I can't
- 10:47Speaker 7: say his name. I can't say his last name right.
- 10:49Speaker 7: Peter Fettianelli? Fettianelli?
- 10:50Speaker 6: That dude from the vampire movies? This was before he
- 10:54Speaker 6: was a vampire.
- 10:56Speaker 7: Back in the good days. What was I infatuated with
- 11:02Speaker 7: him from before this? He was in Can't Hardly Wait.
- 11:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:07Speaker 7: But I don't think that's what I had a crush
- 11:09Speaker 7: on him from.
- 11:09Speaker 6: I think it was mostly Fastlane that triggered it.
- 11:14Speaker 7: It's a good possibility. Can't really wait. It was amazing, though. Okay, sorry.
- 11:21Speaker 7: Let's get back to it. You don't want to discuss
- 11:27Speaker 7: McG yet? Is that what it is? No, I don't know.
- 11:29Speaker 6: I was like, that's the thing. Should we just go
- 11:31Speaker 6: ahead and jump on the McG train? Because... That's where
- 11:35Speaker 6: I have most of my issues with the movie. There's
- 11:37Speaker 6: a lot of pretty entertaining comedy, and I like fun
- 11:42Speaker 6: demon stuff, and most of the actors are pretty damn enjoyable,
- 11:45Speaker 6: so he's just such a cheese ball.
- 11:50Speaker 7: I enjoyed this movie fully. I enjoyed myself, and I
- 11:54Speaker 7: do not regret the last two hours of my life.
- 11:56Speaker 6: I don't either. I mean, I'm glad I've watched it,
- 11:58Speaker 6: but like.
- 12:00Speaker 6: He's just so ham-fisted about everything that he does.
- 12:05Speaker 7: But I enjoyed that. Sometimes I don't need subtlety. I
- 12:10Speaker 7: don't want the hidden meaning of a movie. I just want,
- 12:13Speaker 7: you know what? In this year, goddammit, I want something
- 12:16Speaker 7: to be easy. I want my comedy to be easy.
- 12:19Speaker 6: McG is easy. Everything about McG is easy. It's confounding, perhaps.
- 12:26Speaker 7: I don't want to have to put too much thought
- 12:28Speaker 7: into a lot of shit right now.
- 12:29Speaker 6: See, and I feel like this, I can't remember if
- 12:32Speaker 6: it was this bad in The Babysitter, number one. I
- 12:35Speaker 6: guess I need to go back and listen to our episode.
- 12:38Speaker 6: But this was the same thing. I also somewhat recently
- 12:42Speaker 6: watched Rim of the World.
- 12:43Speaker 4: Nope.
- 12:44Speaker 6: Did you see? It was another one that I think
- 12:47Speaker 6: was financed by Netflix because that's where he's found his
- 12:50Speaker 6: bankroll at this point is Netflix. But it's basically a
- 12:54Speaker 6: bunch of relatively young kids are banding together and trying
- 13:00Speaker 6: to save the world from aliens. So it's like all
- 13:03Speaker 6: these say like suddenly because I'm looking back before that
- 13:08Speaker 6: he just did like regular grown up stuff. But now
- 13:11Speaker 6: suddenly as he becomes an old man, he's like, 12-year-olds
- 13:15Speaker 6: are the coolest. I just want to make movies about
- 13:18Speaker 6: 12-year-olds to 16-year-olds.
- 13:20Speaker 7: I think Stranger Things made a difference, too.
- 13:22Speaker 6: Probably. Yeah, because the Room of the World was definitely
- 13:28Speaker 6: trying to tap into that same thing. It's a bunch
- 13:30Speaker 6: of goofy kids.
- 13:31Speaker 7: Well, because it's fucking huge. Why would you not want
- 13:32Speaker 7: to ride on those coattails a little bit?
- 13:35Speaker 6: But that's what's weird. This is what I don't think
- 13:40Speaker 6: works for him. Or for me, from him. Because there's
- 13:44Speaker 6: tons of other people out there making this stuff. And
- 13:47Speaker 6: they can weave in this mass amounts of pop culture references.
- 13:52Speaker 6: But sometimes.
- 13:54Speaker 7: There was a lot of movie references.
- 13:55Speaker 6: There's so much of it. I mean, it's 99% just
- 13:57Speaker 6: references to other shit. And there are other people that
- 14:00Speaker 6: can kind of make that. Like old school Kevin Williamson.
- 14:04Speaker 6: was like, that's half of what Scream is. But it
- 14:08Speaker 6: works right, and the characters that deliver it, they're geek
- 14:12Speaker 6: enough that you kind of buy it coming from them.
- 14:15Speaker 7: I just want to know what the other three movies
- 14:18Speaker 7: whose sequels.
- 14:19Speaker 6: I told you two of them. Because again, that's in
- 14:21Speaker 6: Scream 2. two isn't it like they make that same
- 14:26Speaker 6: reference so again it's mcg kind of stealing from kevin
- 14:29Speaker 6: williams because.
- 14:30Speaker 7: He referenced with terminator and then i said aliens and
- 14:33Speaker 7: yeah there's two out.
- 14:34Speaker 6: Of four so she said four movies where the sequel
- 14:38Speaker 6: surpasses the original so with a lot of people you're
- 14:41Speaker 6: gonna go with terminator and aliens or terminator 2 and
- 14:44Speaker 6: aliens so what else do you want to work on
- 14:48Speaker 6: the other two i want i.
- 14:49Speaker 7: Just want to know what your what your uh um
- 14:53Speaker 7: opinion would be I don't think it's Scream 2, because
- 14:56Speaker 7: that one kind of sucked.
- 14:59Speaker 6: Again, everything else about Scream 2 is great. The end
- 15:01Speaker 6: is just off.
- 15:04Speaker 7: Was Halloween 2 any good?
- 15:06Speaker 6: Yeah, but not near the original. Halloween 3 is in
- 15:11Speaker 6: its own world.
- 15:14Speaker 7: Freddy?
- 15:17Speaker 6: I mean, 3 is pretty good, but still, I don't
- 15:19Speaker 6: think I'd put it. I mean, the original, you kind
- 15:21Speaker 6: of can't touch. I wonder if we can, what sort
- 15:27Speaker 6: of nonsense like that goes on on the internet. Let's
- 15:31Speaker 6: see what the Googles tells us. Okay. All right. See,
- 15:36Speaker 6: we're not going old school enough. I've heard this argued,
- 15:40Speaker 6: but many people still say Godfather 2 better than Godfather.
- 15:44Speaker 6: So there's your old school one.
- 15:45Speaker 7: Is 3 the one that had Sofia Coppola.
- 15:47Speaker 6: In it that everybody hates?
- 15:48Speaker 9: Yes, it is.
- 15:49Speaker 6: But everybody likes Sofia Coppola now. They just don't like
- 15:52Speaker 6: her in that movie.
- 15:53Speaker 7: They don't like her in... They like her behind the camera.
- 15:56Speaker 6: Yeah, which she should be. She's awesome.
- 16:00Speaker 7: Unpopular opinion. I didn't care for the fucking Godfather movies.
- 16:05Speaker 6: It's one of those every... I constantly feel like I
- 16:08Speaker 6: need to go back and re-watch them. Even though I
- 16:10Speaker 6: know that I've watched them, but my brain gets fuzzy.
- 16:14Speaker 6: I'm like... I don't have those feelings. I know the
- 16:16Speaker 6: scenes I need to know. I know the references, but
- 16:18Speaker 6: there's so much of the rest I'm like, I feel
- 16:20Speaker 6: like I need to watch it again.
- 16:23Speaker 7: I'm looking at my stack of movies to see if
- 16:24Speaker 7: I have anything that could possibly be a sequel to
- 16:26Speaker 7: the original.
- 16:26Speaker 6: I mean, if we get into your superhero stuff, people
- 16:30Speaker 6: really like Spider-Man 2 or even X-Men 2, but I
- 16:35Speaker 6: feel like those aren't high caliber enough in the film world.
- 16:39Speaker 7: Sleepaway Camp 2?
- 16:40Speaker 6: No, that's not quite up there.
- 16:43Speaker 7: X-Men 2?
- 16:43Speaker 6: Dawn of the Dead? I feel like that's a tie.
- 16:46Speaker 6: Because I love Night of the Living Dead, so.
- 16:48Speaker 7: I can see that one.
- 16:49Speaker 6: It's kind of a tie.
- 16:51Speaker 7: So that's the four of them? Or was Aliens correct?
- 16:54Speaker 6: I don't know. I mean, we're kind of making this up, but.
- 16:56Speaker 7: Well, I didn't know there was an official four movie list.
- 16:59Speaker 6: It just puts a whole bunch of options on the
- 17:02Speaker 6: Googles here. Fury Road. I'd say, you know, that first
- 17:08Speaker 6: one's such a weird.
- 17:11Speaker 7: Was Beyond Thunderdome better than Mad Max?
- 17:13Speaker 5: No.
- 17:15Speaker 6: But I guess... Road Warrior could be considered better than
- 17:18Speaker 6: Mad Max, so maybe that. If you don't count Fury Road,
- 17:22Speaker 6: because it took a long time. Blade 2.
- 17:29Speaker 7: No, because the first Blade 1 was awesome because.
- 17:32Speaker 6: Of Stephen Dork. Because it's got your dude in it. Dude!
- 17:34Speaker 7: Can you just have a list of every year of
- 17:37Speaker 7: my crush?
- 17:39Speaker 6: You just need to make a catalog.
- 17:41Speaker 7: Stephen Dork was a couple years, probably.
- 17:43Speaker 6: Batman Returns. It's pretty awesome for hardcore geeks. Which one
- 17:48Speaker 6: was that one? Didn't do near as well at the
- 17:49Speaker 6: box office.
- 17:50Speaker 7: Which one was Batman Returns?
- 17:51Speaker 6: The... Again, it's the even... The one with Catwoman? Yeah,
- 17:54Speaker 6: it's Catwoman. It's way more German expressionist. It's like old
- 17:59Speaker 6: school pulling from silent movies, which is why nobody else
- 18:03Speaker 6: liked it. But it was Tim Burton like digging into
- 18:06Speaker 6: his thing. So I kind of prefer that. And I
- 18:10Speaker 6: like the first one, but.
- 18:12Speaker 6: Dark Knight versus... Batman Begins.
- 18:17Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 18:17Speaker 6: I don't know if there's just four. I think he
- 18:20Speaker 6: just made that up. She's full of shit.
- 18:24Speaker 7: Well, I just wanted to know. I want to fill
- 18:25Speaker 7: in these holes in my movie. It's like, don't tell
- 18:28Speaker 7: me there's four of them and then only give me
- 18:29Speaker 7: like one.
- 18:30Speaker 6: It does seem, again, that's sort of sloppy writing because
- 18:33Speaker 6: most movies that set up that kind of thing, like
- 18:36Speaker 6: the end of the movie will be the other end
- 18:38Speaker 6: of that deal.
- 18:38Speaker 7: Maybe they were just wanting to set up a dialogue.
- 18:41Speaker 7: They were wanting this from us and we fell right
- 18:43Speaker 7: into it.
- 18:44Speaker 6: Fell right into their trap.
- 18:46Speaker 7: Maybe there's a deleted scene it's on the editing room
- 18:50Speaker 7: floor is.
- 18:52Speaker 6: This exactly can't afford to shoot extra scenes on this
- 18:57Speaker 6: oh but see okay that's the part that i feel
- 19:00Speaker 6: like is super like slapped together about the way that
- 19:03Speaker 6: he does it because again you look at like somebody
- 19:06Speaker 6: like tarantino takes pieces of everything, but weaves it into
- 19:12Speaker 6: this new thing that is its own weird Tarantino through
- 19:18Speaker 6: and through. You cannot question anything that is his. It's
- 19:21Speaker 6: still him above everything else that he steals from.
- 19:24Speaker 7: Which is not necessarily a good thing sometimes.
- 19:26Speaker 6: It depends on the movie. But the McG stuff is
- 19:31Speaker 6: so hammered together awkwardly Like, it feels like he's just
- 19:37Speaker 6: doing it for himself. Because the references don't even make
- 19:41Speaker 6: sense for these characters. Like, does he think all 12
- 19:45Speaker 6: to 14 year olds are referencing shit that 50 year
- 19:48Speaker 6: old dudes like? No. it's just making old man references.
- 19:53Speaker 7: How many times did they reference Terminator 2?
- 19:55Speaker 6: You're dealing with a bunch of dumb kids. I know
- 19:58Speaker 6: we're starting to lose that generational thing because of the internet.
- 20:03Speaker 6: Because kids now are born into having access to everything.
- 20:07Speaker 6: It is weird sometimes you'll find kids that are into
- 20:10Speaker 6: stuff that's way older that they probably wouldn't have been,
- 20:12Speaker 6: but not across the board.
- 20:14Speaker 3: No, not across the board.
- 20:16Speaker 6: Not every kid that's 14... I don't know, though, because,
- 20:19Speaker 6: you know, even.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Well, my kid's not 14.
- 20:22Speaker 7: She's, like, in her 20s, but.
- 20:24Speaker 6: She's all grown up.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Yeah, her friends actually have a movie night where they
- 20:28Speaker 3: get together and they all watch movies together. Online?
- 20:33Speaker 7: Online.
- 20:34Speaker 6: Well... Like, I saw... Were they doing this before the pandemic?
- 20:37Speaker 6: Because I feel like kids were. They were doing this
- 20:39Speaker 6: before the pandemic. Like even the stupid social media. There's
- 20:42Speaker 6: the watch parties that was kind of a thing before
- 20:46Speaker 6: the pandemic. And that's the thing.
- 20:48Speaker 3: They all get together and they've got their little... She
- 20:50Speaker 3: doesn't do a webcam, but a lot of her other
- 20:52Speaker 3: friends have webcams where they can look at each other
- 20:55Speaker 3: and talk. And they make comments to the movies.
- 20:58Speaker 6: But some of the movies that she.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Watched, I was like, wow, really? Like they went back
- 21:03Speaker 3: and they watched like, uh, John Carpenter's the thing, you know? Uh,
- 21:08Speaker 3: they've went back and watched a lot of like original
- 21:11Speaker 3: horror movies, you know, which I was like, wow, that's,
- 21:13Speaker 3: that's awesome that you guys are actually.
- 21:15Speaker 6: Going through it. So I think there is a part
- 21:17Speaker 6: of that that's happening now, but I don't feel like
- 21:19Speaker 6: that's what we're getting here. I think we're just getting
- 21:22Speaker 6: an old dude. It's like, dude, these are my references
- 21:25Speaker 6: and they're awesome. Like, so everything he's pulling from, like, ah,
- 21:31Speaker 6: I don't even know where to begin. It's just so
- 21:33Speaker 6: many cheesy movie references that no kid would get. hammered
- 21:38Speaker 6: together with don't get me wrong an awesome soundtrack but
- 21:42Speaker 6: a bunch of just kind of random songs that again
- 21:45Speaker 6: an old dude like him would have grown up listening
- 21:48Speaker 6: to yeah because i was like they're playing the cramps
- 21:51Speaker 6: you know and then they play dead kennedys the whole
- 21:54Speaker 6: soundtrack is great but i'm just like it doesn't fit
- 21:57Speaker 6: with these kids no what's going on it's just slapped
- 22:00Speaker 6: together because he thinks those songs are cool which again
- 22:03Speaker 6: i'm like That's kind of what Tarantino does, too, but
- 22:07Speaker 6: he does it with lesser-known stuff, and he kind of
- 22:09Speaker 6: puts a different spin on it. I don't specifically understand
- 22:13Speaker 6: the difference.
- 22:14Speaker 7: Maybe I just like it because it makes it more
- 22:15Speaker 7: relatable to me, because I'm like, oh, I get that reference.
- 22:21Speaker 6: You're not quite as old as McG. But I had
- 22:23Speaker 6: to check, though. I was like, is he even that old?
- 22:25Speaker 6: I felt like he was a little younger when he started,
- 22:27Speaker 6: but I checked. Nope, he's a 50-year-old dude. He's 52 now. So...
- 22:33Speaker 6: He's making old man references for his movie about a
- 22:37Speaker 6: bunch of 14-year-olds.
- 22:39Speaker 7: But that makes it relatable to us. Which is weird, though.
- 22:44Speaker 7: I don't want to relate to current 14-year-olds. That's impossible.
- 22:48Speaker 6: That's why I'm like, who is he making? Is it
- 22:51Speaker 6: only going to connect? Because I feel like it's going
- 22:53Speaker 6: to be dumb kids scrolling through the Netflix going, oh,
- 22:56Speaker 6: what's this? And they're not going to get it. So
- 22:59Speaker 6: he only has to pinpoint and target. Okay, are you
- 23:02Speaker 6: kind of old?
- 23:03Speaker 7: You'll like this.
- 23:04Speaker 6: You'll get these references. Look, there's a queen reference right
- 23:08Speaker 6: in the title.
- 23:13Speaker 7: And is Samara Samara? Is that her name?
- 23:16Speaker 6: I don't know if I've ever heard it properly from
- 23:19Speaker 6: her or anyone who knows.
- 23:21Speaker 7: Samara?
- 23:22Speaker 6: The babysitter?
- 23:23Speaker 7: The babysitter.
- 23:24Speaker 9: The babysitter.
- 23:25Speaker 7: Has she had any health issues lately? Because it seems
- 23:27Speaker 7: like she is like a skeleton of herself. And I'm
- 23:30Speaker 7: not saying that to be mean or anything. It's like
- 23:32Speaker 7: It was.
- 23:32Speaker 6: Genuine concern when you said it there.
- 23:36Speaker 7: She looks skeletal and not like as in that's part
- 23:39Speaker 7: of her role in the movie. I haven't seen anything
- 23:42Speaker 7: of hers lately. I know she did that one movie
- 23:45Speaker 7: somewhat recently where she's fighting a family. What movie is that?
- 23:48Speaker 6: That's really good. Ready or not?
- 23:50Speaker 7: I've not seen it. I want to see it. It's
- 23:51Speaker 7: on my list.
- 23:52Speaker 6: I think you will totally get it. You will be
- 23:54Speaker 6: on board.
- 23:55Speaker 7: Did she seem healthier in that movie?
- 23:56Speaker 6: Yeah. I was also like Is it coincidental? She's also
- 24:02Speaker 6: gotten much bigger now, so I'm like, is that why
- 24:04Speaker 6: they couldn't get her to be in the entirety of
- 24:05Speaker 6: the movie? And they found a 14-year-old stand-in version? Because
- 24:10Speaker 6: that girl is so like the villain version.
- 24:13Speaker 7: She was a character of Chloe Moritz, whatever.
- 24:16Speaker 6: Chloe Grace Moritz. She does look like.
- 24:20Speaker 7: A badly drawn... Yeah, like.
- 24:21Speaker 6: If somebody was trying to come up with a version
- 24:23Speaker 6: of her, but you couldn't afford her, but you get
- 24:26Speaker 6: her cousin that went Through a caricature machine.
- 24:30Speaker 3: I have no idea what you're talking about.
- 24:32Speaker 6: The blonde girl in this movie.
- 24:33Speaker 3: I know, but I don't know who the other person
- 24:35Speaker 3: you're talking about.
- 24:35Speaker 7: Yeah, you do.
- 24:36Speaker 2: What?
- 24:37Speaker 6: Who?
- 24:37Speaker 7: Chloe... I'd say.
- 24:39Speaker 6: Hit girl, but I mean, she was a child then,
- 24:41Speaker 6: so it's hard to... Yeah, I don't know. If you...
- 24:44Speaker 6: She looks like... No. Hold on.
- 24:48Speaker 7: Chloe Grace Moritz.
- 24:49Speaker 6: She's in a bunch of stuff.
- 24:50Speaker 7: She's in the new.
- 24:51Speaker 6: She's in the new Suspiria, but she's not in it much,
- 24:54Speaker 6: which is one of the downfalls of it, if you
- 24:56Speaker 6: ask me.
- 24:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess.
- 24:57Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 24:58Speaker 6: She definitely kind of has a look of like similar ish. So, yeah,
- 25:05Speaker 6: that's what I was trying to decide. Is it just
- 25:06Speaker 6: because Samara is more popular now and it's harder to
- 25:11Speaker 6: get her to be in the movie because she's actually
- 25:13Speaker 6: got like a full schedule? Or was she having health issues?
- 25:18Speaker 7: I don't know. I'm not trying to sound like an
- 25:19Speaker 7: asshole saying that, but she just her her cheekbones were
- 25:23Speaker 7: very angular. Oh, she was in Bill and... Was she
- 25:26Speaker 7: in the new Bill and Ted?
- 25:27Speaker 6: Yeah, she's the new... She's the new... She's the daughter.
- 25:31Speaker 7: Maybe she's just going for the angular look now.
- 25:33Speaker 11: I don't know.
- 25:34Speaker 7: I don't know. Is that hot this year?
- 25:38Speaker 6: Looking almost dead is so 2020.
- 25:39Speaker 7: Dude, the way this year's going.
- 25:45Speaker 6: That's what I'm saying. But yeah, I don't know. Just
- 25:49Speaker 6: like everything about it was just.
- 25:54Speaker 6: I mean, there was a hammer reference for God's sake.
- 25:57Speaker 7: That was pretty great.
- 25:57Speaker 6: I was like, what kid is going to get a
- 25:59Speaker 6: hammer reference? There's so many times when I'm like, I
- 26:04Speaker 6: don't even know who you're making this for except for Miggy.
- 26:09Speaker 6: And a handful of old dorks that'll just be like, well,
- 26:11Speaker 6: I get that Planet of the Apes reference, but why
- 26:14Speaker 6: am I watching this movie?
- 26:24Speaker 13: Hungry?
- 26:29Speaker 6: Thirsty?
- 26:45Speaker 2: The refreshment stand is open with everything to satisfy your
- 26:49Speaker 2: taste buds.
- 26:50Speaker 7: Here's the menu.
- 26:51Speaker 2: The hottest, freshest, crunchiest popcorn. Each kernel popped to its
- 26:55Speaker 2: fullest with that real movie time taste. Cold drinks. You'll
- 26:59Speaker 2: find your favorite ice cold, tasty and thirst quenching. And
- 27:03Speaker 2: hot dogs, hamburgers and candy too. Now a short intermission
- 27:07Speaker 2: so you'll have time to make your selection before the
- 27:10Speaker 2: show begins.
- 27:29Speaker 6: So, guess what happened the other day?
- 27:30Speaker 12: I have no idea.
- 27:33Speaker 6: I went into a store. I know it's hard to
- 27:36Speaker 6: go out into the world, but I actually went into
- 27:38Speaker 6: a place, and I brought my goods up to the register,
- 27:42Speaker 6: and they went to ring me up, And damned if
- 27:45Speaker 6: it didn't say 666. Ooh. Fantastic. And the woman behind
- 27:51Speaker 6: the counter went, oh, God. Like, she kind of responded.
- 27:54Speaker 6: And I was like, nah, that seems about right. It's fine.
- 27:58Speaker 6: So it's obvious that we're in tune with the dark
- 28:02Speaker 6: forces of the universe.
- 28:04Speaker 12: Clearly.
- 28:05Speaker 6: And, you know, one of those things is probably because
- 28:09Speaker 6: we're always rolling 20-sided die.
- 28:12Speaker 7: We can't stop.
- 28:14Speaker 6: So I, you know, as you may or may not know,
- 28:18Speaker 6: each time we roll the die, we open up a
- 28:21Speaker 6: portal to some sort of demon dimension and evil forces
- 28:24Speaker 6: come and go and do as they please. So just
- 28:27Speaker 6: if you, if you didn't know that at home, this
- 28:29Speaker 6: is one of the things we're doing now is opening
- 28:32Speaker 6: up demon portals. And we also kind of watch horror movies,
- 28:36Speaker 6: but this is one of the benefits, you know, fringe
- 28:40Speaker 6: benefits that comes with, you know, Setting up a show
- 28:43Speaker 6: that rolls die and brings in horror movies and evil forces.
- 28:48Speaker 12: It's the whole reason I joined.
- 28:51Speaker 6: And you too can join and be part of this
- 28:53Speaker 6: evil madness. So go to MovieMeltdown.com. Click on that link
- 28:58Speaker 6: right there at the top that says join the horror club.
- 29:00Speaker 6: And you can enjoy all the fun and games that
- 29:03Speaker 6: comes along with the demon dimensions that we're opening up.
- 29:07Speaker 6: And we talk about horror movies on occasion.
- 29:10Speaker 12: Sometimes. So, Brian, what's the minimum to join up for that?
- 29:15Speaker 12: Two bucks.
- 29:17Speaker 4: Two bucks.
- 29:17Speaker 12: Two American dollars and you can get all this and more.
- 29:21Speaker 6: Two measly dollars and you can have access to all
- 29:24Speaker 6: of the episodes. Now, granted, you can throw some more
- 29:27Speaker 6: at us and we'll come up with some other crazy things,
- 29:29Speaker 6: but you get two dollars in and you can listen
- 29:33Speaker 6: to every one of the bonus episodes, all horror related,
- 29:36Speaker 6: all just for you. And on top of that, our
- 29:39Speaker 6: little promo we've got going now is the previously mentioned
- 29:43Speaker 6: rolling of the die. If you join up, you get
- 29:46Speaker 6: to give us a movie to put on the list
- 29:49Speaker 6: and then we'll roll the die and potentially get to
- 29:52Speaker 6: your movie down the line. We never know when. That's
- 29:54Speaker 6: part of the evil forces that live inside the 20-sided die.
- 29:58Speaker 6: But you can be part of that if you just
- 30:00Speaker 6: join the club and then you can get your movie
- 30:03Speaker 6: on the list and listen as we crack open the
- 30:07Speaker 6: thin little membrane that's containing evil on the other side
- 30:10Speaker 6: of the void. Each week we're poking at it with
- 30:14Speaker 6: a stick. You can be part of that magic.
- 30:18Speaker 4: Evil magic. Dark magic.
- 30:23Speaker 6: For two dollars. Follow me.
- 30:26Speaker 12: You are probably just going to throw that money in
- 30:28Speaker 12: the garbage anyway.
- 30:30Speaker 6: Probably. I mean, you don't need anything to do with
- 30:33Speaker 6: it now. You can't go anywhere. You can't do anything functional.
- 30:37Speaker 6: I was lucky to come up with enough to scrape
- 30:39Speaker 6: together to get $ 6. 66 worth of goods because I don't
- 30:43Speaker 6: go anywhere. I don't do anything now. It's the wonderful
- 30:45Speaker 6: world we live in. So now you've got that extra
- 30:48Speaker 6: two bucks to throw towards something important like this show.
- 30:54Speaker 6: That did actually happen, right? It was at a Walgreens.
- 30:59Speaker 6: And the woman was like, Oh Lord.
- 31:01Speaker 12: That's happened to me a handful of times. And I'm
- 31:04Speaker 12: always like, fantastic. I was somewhere. I don't remember what
- 31:08Speaker 12: it was.
- 31:09Speaker 15: And the lady actually told me like when the amount
- 31:13Speaker 15: rang up, she's like, Oh, we'll just round this up
- 31:15Speaker 15: to six 70. I was like, you can round it down.
- 31:20Speaker 15: I was like, but you're not going to rip me
- 31:22Speaker 15: off just because the, you know, cash register was, bring
- 31:25Speaker 15: up an evil quote unquote evil number.
- 31:28Speaker 6: Satan says you give me this for free. Yeah.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:31Speaker 12: There you go.
- 31:33Speaker 6: Well, there you go. You, you don't have to round
- 31:36Speaker 6: up if you want, you can just leave it an
- 31:38Speaker 6: even two bucks.
- 31:39Speaker 9: So there you go.
- 31:41Speaker 6: You want to round it up to a hundred dollars.
- 31:43Speaker 6: Feel free. I have a, a God level set up
- 31:46Speaker 6: just for crazy people that want to throw a hundred
- 31:48Speaker 6: dollars at us, but you don't have to do that.
- 31:51Speaker 6: We're really looking for like crazy millionaires that want to just,
- 31:56Speaker 6: Throw money at something weird out there, and we are
- 31:58Speaker 6: those weirdos. So it's certainly an option if you're looking
- 32:02Speaker 6: for that. But assuming you're not a millionaire, two bucks
- 32:05Speaker 6: is all you need.
- 32:07Speaker 12: And we will take your $ 6. 66 if you have it.
- 32:10Speaker 6: That's true. If you want to throw that in there
- 32:13Speaker 6: every month just to get on board with the evil,
- 32:16Speaker 6: feel free. We are more than happy to go with
- 32:19Speaker 6: that evil number, unlike that lady behind the counter.
- 32:23Speaker 15: Well, let's say you buy something for $ 3. 34 and all
- 32:27Speaker 15: you have... Am I doing this math right? I don't
- 32:29Speaker 15: know if I am or not.
- 32:30Speaker 6: I don't bother with math.
- 32:31Speaker 12: Well, let's say your change comes back for whatever reason, $ 6. 66,
- 32:35Speaker 12: and you're scared to death of what's going to happen.
- 32:38Speaker 12: You send it to us and you get all this
- 32:40Speaker 12: great stuff.
- 32:41Speaker 6: There you go. We're saving your soul. Yeah. The only
- 32:44Speaker 6: hope for you is to give us money so that
- 32:47Speaker 6: you can go on to some sort of afterlife that
- 32:49Speaker 6: you will enjoy as opposed to the evil forces that
- 32:52Speaker 6: live within our episodes.
- 32:54Speaker 7: Turned so televangelist.
- 32:58Speaker 4: Get out your pocketbooks.
- 33:00Speaker 6: You know that you want to give. That's what we're
- 33:06Speaker 6: looking for. Some sort of demon televangelist. It's the ultimate level.
- 33:13Speaker 9: We're going for, for this.
- 33:17Speaker 6: So go to movie meltdown.com. Click on the horror club
- 33:19Speaker 6: link on the right side of the page and join
- 33:21Speaker 6: the club. With your help we can keep this 20-sided
- 33:24Speaker 6: die rolling.
- 33:35Speaker 9: This commercial is based on a true story.
- 33:38Speaker 6: Hello?
- 33:38Speaker 3: Tracy?
- 33:39Speaker 7: No, we don't need a babysitter tonight. Thanks anyway.
- 33:42Speaker 2: After a family bought an Atari video game, they had
- 33:44Speaker 2: no trouble getting babysitters.
- 33:46Speaker 12: Oh, my God.
- 33:47Speaker 6: Hello?
- 33:48Speaker 2: Kate?
- 33:48Speaker 7: No, we don't need a babysitter tonight.
- 33:50Speaker 13: Bye.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Everybody enjoys Atari because Atari has so many different games
- 33:54Speaker 2: to enjoy.
- 33:55Speaker 4: Hello?
- 33:56Speaker 3: Karen?
- 33:57Speaker 11: No, we don't need a babysitter tonight.
- 33:59Speaker 2: No other company offers you as many different video game
- 34:02Speaker 2: cartridges as Atari.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Hey there, this is John Doe. You're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Glad you are, because otherwise you'd be wasting your time
- 34:22Speaker 1: playing some stupid video game.
- 34:35Speaker 6: It's part of.
- 34:36Speaker 13: Your problem, you know.
- 34:41Speaker 9: You haven't seen enough movies.
- 34:42Speaker 14: All of life's riddles are answered in the movies.
- 34:46Speaker 2: And now, on with the show.
- 35:27Speaker 6: Would you like to talk about our lead dorky kids' clothes?
- 35:30Speaker 7: They're awful. It's like, if you already have fucking problems,
- 35:33Speaker 7: don't set yourself up to have more problems. Like wearing
- 35:36Speaker 7: a corduroy fucking three-piece suit. Don't do that to yourself.
- 35:41Speaker 7: I mean, the vest itself wasn't corduroy, but the jacket
- 35:45Speaker 7: and the pants. Even those little dorky ass... Me and
- 35:48Speaker 7: Boyfriend were discussing these the other day. The elbow patches.
- 35:52Speaker 6: See, I don't get elbow patches. Never did. That always
- 35:55Speaker 6: seems stupid to me. I'm all for corduroy, though. I'm
- 35:58Speaker 6: down with some corduroy pants. Not going to bother to
- 36:01Speaker 6: wear the vest. I'm probably not a jacket under most circumstances.
- 36:05Speaker 7: And the shirt and tie. It's like, dude, you're just.
- 36:08Speaker 6: You.
- 36:08Speaker 7: Already got enough fucking issues. Don't do this to yourself.
- 36:12Speaker 7: And if you're going to do this self, bring the
- 36:14Speaker 7: entire fucking look together. Do not wear your New Balance
- 36:18Speaker 7: fucking running sneakers and then complain that they're not for running. Motherfucker,
- 36:22Speaker 7: that is their exact fucking purpose. They are New Balance...
- 36:26Speaker 7: running shoes and they were blue don't wear blue New
- 36:30Speaker 7: Balance running shoes with your goddamn brown corduroy three-piece suit.
- 36:36Speaker 6: Yeah I'm all for going against the norm but not
- 36:39Speaker 6: like that you're doing it wrong dude something about all
- 36:43Speaker 6: of that just did not work especially if you.
- 36:45Speaker 7: It's like you seem like you don't really want to
- 36:47Speaker 7: be drawing attention to yourself but here you are.
- 36:50Speaker 6: But you're in a regular old high school it'd be
- 36:52Speaker 6: different if everybody had to wear like uniforms and ties
- 36:55Speaker 6: or something, but high school. Yeah. Yeah.
- 36:59Speaker 3: I don't think I remember anybody in high.
- 37:01Speaker 9: Well, this was in the eighties.
- 37:02Speaker 6: So I was going to say, I don't skinny task,
- 37:05Speaker 6: you know?
- 37:05Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 37:06Speaker 3: You know, there was a, I was going to say, uh,
- 37:08Speaker 3: I don't remember anybody ever wearing like suit jackets and, uh,
- 37:13Speaker 3: But then now that I think about it, actually, you know.
- 37:16Speaker 6: The punk kids, they were wearing them for the wrong reasons.
- 37:18Speaker 3: Yeah, my friend Chris, he always wore, like, jeans, and
- 37:21Speaker 3: he wore, like, a button-up shirt with a skinny tie,
- 37:24Speaker 3: and he wore the jacket.
- 37:25Speaker 6: It's kind of preppy, too, for the 80s. But the
- 37:26Speaker 6: sleeves were pushed up, you know, and the collar was popped.
- 37:29Speaker 6: That's very preppy.
- 37:30Speaker 3: And he had buttons on his jacket, so I guess
- 37:33Speaker 3: that's ties.
- 37:33Speaker 6: Between punk and preppy, you got a lot of crossover there, yeah.
- 37:36Speaker 3: Yeah, it was between punk and prep, because he wasn't
- 37:38Speaker 3: a prep.
- 37:39Speaker 6: But they definitely made use of all that stuff.
- 37:41Speaker 3: They did, yeah.
- 37:43Speaker 6: He wasn't really a punk either. So again, he's dressing
- 37:48Speaker 6: for a guy who is 50. Like, this is what
- 37:52Speaker 6: high school kids wear, right? Yeah, they wear suits, right?
- 37:56Speaker 6: In 1984, what is wrong with you, dude?
- 37:57Speaker 7: And not only did he wear it once, he wore
- 37:59Speaker 7: the exact same outfit at least two days in a row.
- 38:01Speaker 6: Yeah, that's not cool. I don't care what school you
- 38:03Speaker 6: go to, that's not cool.
- 38:05Speaker 7: Because they didn't show him doing laundry.
- 38:08Speaker 6: That would have been a gripping scene. He wore that
- 38:10Speaker 6: outfit to the lake. Yeah, I thought that too. Once
- 38:14Speaker 6: he jumped in the car, I was like, do you
- 38:15Speaker 6: want to stop and get a bag or something? Or
- 38:18Speaker 6: bring some jeans and a t-shirt?
- 38:19Speaker 7: Parents were planning on sending him away to crazy camp,
- 38:22Speaker 7: so he had to go.
- 38:23Speaker 6: Buy some new clothes. I don't know. Yeah, but at
- 38:25Speaker 6: least take your fucking jacket off. Roll your sleeves up. Dork. Yeah.
- 38:30Speaker 6: Loosen that tie.
- 38:31Speaker 7: And I was kind of peeved by the comment where
- 38:33Speaker 7: she was like, He do have soft elbows. And I'm like,
- 38:35Speaker 7: he's wearing a fucking three-piece... Are you feeling his elbows
- 38:41Speaker 7: through his fucking elbow patches?
- 38:42Speaker 6: That's what it is. He's got soft elbow patches.
- 38:45Speaker 7: Oh, dude.
- 38:46Speaker 6: He lubes his elbow patches every night.
- 38:51Speaker 7: There's a whole scene about lotion and lube and all
- 38:53Speaker 7: that shit. And he's got very fucking dry skin. And
- 38:57Speaker 7: I'm just like, you can't... I'm picturing her shoving her hands...
- 39:03Speaker 7: It's really.
- 39:03Speaker 6: Yeah, it would be, I mean, a jacket, especially with
- 39:06Speaker 6: a shirt and a jacket, that leaves not a lot
- 39:09Speaker 6: of room to be shoving your hand up there. I'm sorry.
- 39:11Speaker 7: Where are you going? Maybe she had tiny little hands.
- 39:13Speaker 7: She had tiny little demon hands. Spoiler alert.
- 39:17Speaker 6: She had.
- 39:20Speaker 7: A big old lollipop bobble head, too.
- 39:23Speaker 6: She was an odd gal. I don't know what to
- 39:25Speaker 6: do with her. Was that the same girl? That was
- 39:28Speaker 6: one of the questions we were trying to decide. on.
- 39:30Speaker 6: Let's see.
- 39:31Speaker 7: And I love their flashback scenes as to how they
- 39:33Speaker 7: all met Bea. And I love that the shirtless guy
- 39:38Speaker 7: was still shirtless guy.
- 39:40Speaker 6: At his, like, fry cook job. Still wearing the name tag.
- 39:44Speaker 6: That's the best part. At least he had a hairnet on.
- 39:48Speaker 6: No shirt, but hair now.
- 39:49Speaker 7: Well, it doesn't look like he had chest hair.
- 39:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 39:51Speaker 7: You know? And I want to take a second to
- 39:53Speaker 7: look up, or that I looked like a guy up,
- 39:55Speaker 7: and he is the first cousin of Stephen Amell from,
- 39:59Speaker 7: what did I say? Green.
- 40:00Speaker 6: Green Arrow?
- 40:01Speaker 7: Green Arrow, the CW show, I'm pretty sure. I was
- 40:06Speaker 7: pretty fascinated with that, because I'm like, oh, Amell, that's
- 40:09Speaker 7: not a very common name. But apparently they're all Canadian.
- 40:12Speaker 6: It's just Jones in Canada.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:16Speaker 6: Um, yeah, I believe she was Melanie in the original babysitter.
- 40:20Speaker 6: She's just all grows up now.
- 40:22Speaker 7: He grows up and he grows up.
- 40:24Speaker 6: Which again, they made that reference. Didn't they? Another 25,
- 40:28Speaker 6: 30 year old movie. What was that from? Uh, swingers.
- 40:35Speaker 6: He grows up and he grows up.
- 40:38Speaker 3: I think I remember that. But, uh, my friend, uh,
- 40:40Speaker 3: I have a friend Rocco actually posted out a thing about, uh,
- 40:45Speaker 3: swingers this morning he was like swingers yay or nay
- 40:48Speaker 3: i was like yay i liked swingers when it came
- 40:51Speaker 3: out as.
- 40:51Speaker 6: I remember it it's been a long time since i've seen.
- 40:54Speaker 3: That one yeah i may have to go back and
- 40:55Speaker 3: re-watch it and then.
- 40:56Speaker 7: I might be like sure that it will have not
- 40:58Speaker 7: aged well.
- 40:59Speaker 3: It probably won't but at the time when it came
- 41:01Speaker 3: out it came out it's just so.
- 41:03Speaker 6: Like yeah so much of that is around that same
- 41:06Speaker 6: time not just the like new push of that music
- 41:10Speaker 6: and scene movement but also like there's a huge scene
- 41:14Speaker 6: that hinges on him leaving a message on her answering
- 41:18Speaker 6: machine so like yeah all of that stuff like makes
- 41:22Speaker 6: no sense now it's as dated as you know any
- 41:25Speaker 6: other old timey movie.
- 41:26Speaker 7: So answering machine what's that exactly.
- 41:28Speaker 6: So i have a movie for you then if you
- 41:32Speaker 6: like old timey references have you seen the babysitter colon
- 41:36Speaker 6: killer queen Oh!
- 41:38Speaker 14: Shit!
- 41:39Speaker 7: Oh my god!
- 41:40Speaker 6: Oh my god! You just killed Bambi?
- 41:41Speaker 7: Boo hoo. Watch a kid's movie. The parents always die.
- 41:46Speaker 12: Shit!
- 41:48Speaker 6: God!
- 41:49Speaker 5: Too bad he's not here to blow my head all
- 41:52Speaker 5: over your face like a Bugaki movie.
- 41:55Speaker 6: Allison.
- 41:56Speaker 5: Allison, wait.
- 41:57Speaker 6: Wait.
- 41:59Speaker 15: Think.
- 42:00Speaker 6: Think of the journalistic opportunity. Go on. Young, hot journalist
- 42:05Speaker 6: saves two teens in Spooky Canyon. Right?
- 42:09Speaker 15: Right?
- 42:11Speaker 7: Right?
- 42:12Speaker 2: Right?
- 42:12Speaker 4: Oh, oh yeah.
- 42:13Speaker 7: Yeah, you totally give me like a young Kelly Ripa vibe.
- 42:17Speaker 6: That's who it is!
- 42:17Speaker 16: With that little bit.
- 42:18Speaker 6: Of Barbara Walters.
- 42:19Speaker 7: Uh-huh, like the look? Your verbal acuity is unparalleled.
- 42:22Speaker 6: Exactly. Allison, you, you are ready for prime time.
- 42:26Speaker 7: Prime time?
- 42:26Speaker 6: You are a star. You think I'm a star? A shining,
- 42:31Speaker 6: bright star. Exactly.
- 42:34Speaker 7: If I let you guys go, you do that for me?
- 42:36Speaker 12: For me?
- 42:37Speaker 7: We could walk away from all this and forget it
- 42:39Speaker 7: ever happened.
- 42:39Speaker 6: Uh-huh.
- 42:41Speaker 7: That's my line, eh, cops?
- 42:45Speaker 6: Oh, my food! Fuck me again!
- 42:50Speaker 7: You little shit, where'd you go?
- 42:52Speaker 6: Loaded with things like.
- 42:54Speaker 7: Crack-headed fucking Bella Thorne. I love her, but she is
- 42:58Speaker 7: not quite right.
- 42:59Speaker 6: I was just thinking this the other day for specific reasons,
- 43:04Speaker 6: which we'll get to, but When I was watching Shake
- 43:09Speaker 6: It Up, which, yes, I am arguably, I'm using quotes,
- 43:12Speaker 6: a grown-up who has watched many, many children's shows over
- 43:16Speaker 6: the years. But as I was watching that one, between
- 43:19Speaker 6: the two, like, Bella stole that whole show. Like, she
- 43:22Speaker 6: was the focus of that show.
- 43:25Speaker 7: I've honestly never seen it.
- 43:26Speaker 6: And Zendaya's just kind of like, there. I was just
- 43:29Speaker 6: kind of, she's boring. Who would think, fast forward... The
- 43:35Speaker 6: train wreck that Bella has become versus... Well, I will at.
- 43:38Speaker 7: Least never say that Bella Thorne is boring.
- 43:41Speaker 6: Zendaya is now like in Oscar caliber movies, is in
- 43:46Speaker 6: giant tentpole Marvel movies, has just taken home an Emmy recently.
- 43:53Speaker 6: She is like a... She's the... I just, again, going
- 43:56Speaker 6: out to a store today. She's like the... the cover model,
- 44:00Speaker 6: the spokesperson for L'Oreal or one of the, like, Lancome
- 44:05Speaker 6: or one of those giant, huge makeup companies. I'm like,
- 44:09Speaker 6: who would have ever thought, like, she would be at
- 44:11Speaker 6: the top of her game? Zendaya. Didn't see it coming, man.
- 44:17Speaker 7: We're proud of you. Whereas Bella Thorne is a... Bella Thorne!
- 44:20Speaker 7: Isn't she producing porn at some point?
- 44:23Speaker 6: I believe she was going to release something on porn. Uh-huh,
- 44:25Speaker 6: it was directorial.
- 44:26Speaker 7: She was directing.
- 44:27Speaker 6: Of course. She's... big money now i mean she's a director.
- 44:31Speaker 7: Well she because it's uh announced that she's making her
- 44:34Speaker 7: directorial debut.
- 44:36Speaker 6: On pornhub of course where you want to break out
- 44:38Speaker 6: into the scene the internets oh bella what has become
- 44:46Speaker 6: of you not that she's not amusing in this movie
- 44:48Speaker 6: because hold.
- 44:49Speaker 7: On here's a quote from her regarding her movie that
- 44:52Speaker 7: she made My initial idea was to create a Christmas
- 44:55Speaker 7: horror movie, Thorn 21 said in a new promotional video,
- 44:58Speaker 7: but instead I made a beautiful ethereal film.
- 45:02Speaker 6: On Pornhub. Bella, we need to have a talk. A
- 45:09Speaker 6: long talk.
- 45:12Speaker 7: I don't know how much long talk. There's not deep
- 45:14Speaker 7: thoughts in there, I don't think.
- 45:16Speaker 6: But that made it even funnier in this movie because
- 45:19Speaker 6: every time she fell down or shot herself or anything
- 45:23Speaker 6: she did i was like yeah this is just a
- 45:25Speaker 6: regular old day for bella thorne we're not talking about
- 45:28Speaker 6: the character this is just a tuesday for bella thorne
- 45:33Speaker 6: she is a piece of work i'm.
- 45:35Speaker 7: Not gonna lie but she is hilarious she is.
- 45:38Speaker 6: Very funny in this movie again i wish she could
- 45:42Speaker 6: make maybe better artistic decisions To put herself in better stuff,
- 45:47Speaker 6: because I think if you use her right, she's great.
- 45:50Speaker 7: Maybe she needs to call Zendaya up.
- 45:52Speaker 6: Zendaya needs to hook her up with a job. At
- 45:56Speaker 6: least be like a PA on her new show or something,
- 45:58Speaker 6: because girl needs some help. Get her some better stuff.
- 46:05Speaker 6: I just can't get over the references. What 14-year-old is
- 46:10Speaker 6: gonna know Jenny? None of them. None of them are
- 46:14Speaker 6: going to know the number to type into the boat.
- 46:17Speaker 6: Maybe they heard it once on their retro channel when
- 46:19Speaker 6: they were streaming it on the internet, but there ain't
- 46:22Speaker 6: no way in hell they're going to remember 8-6-7-5-3-0-9. Which is, yeah,
- 46:25Speaker 6: it's not possible. Which is what all the old people
- 46:29Speaker 6: in the audience were like, oh yeah, just type in Jenny.
- 46:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I know.
- 46:33Speaker 3: That's as soon as I saw the boat that said Jenny,
- 46:35Speaker 3: they were like, It's one of those that needs a code.
- 46:37Speaker 6: I was like, 8-6-7-5-3-0-9. You immediately got it. I know
- 46:41Speaker 6: the code. Were you 14? You would not have spouted
- 46:44Speaker 6: that out. No.
- 46:46Speaker 7: That did lead to a great scene when the boat
- 46:50Speaker 7: took off and shirtless guy... What the fuck is shirtless
- 46:54Speaker 7: guy saying?
- 46:54Speaker 6: See, that's the other thing. Like, The rest of this
- 46:56Speaker 6: cast is hilarious. Like shirtless guy is never not funny.
- 47:01Speaker 6: It's always fucking hilarious.
- 47:04Speaker 7: I want a movie just with him. I love that guy.
- 47:07Speaker 7: And when they take off in the boat, at first
- 47:10Speaker 7: I thought maybe it was, it was tied to the dock.
- 47:12Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 47:14Speaker 7: And it was tied to a fucking energy. He jumps
- 47:18Speaker 7: in that motherfucker. And he, first he strikes a pose.
- 47:22Speaker 6: He was, he was pretty cool with the pose.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:26Speaker 6: And then he's just having a good old time as
- 47:28Speaker 6: he's jackass-ing his way up again. And really old reference.
- 47:35Speaker 6: No kid knows what the hell a jackass is now.
- 47:38Speaker 6: There's an idiot doing a YouTube video that's very similar now,
- 47:42Speaker 6: but they wouldn't reference Jackass.
- 47:44Speaker 7: Yeah, every fucking line he said in there, I'm like, dude, that's...
- 47:47Speaker 7: I laughed.
- 47:47Speaker 10: I laughed.
- 47:48Speaker 6: Nothing beats the finale. Yeah, nothing beats the finale. Which
- 47:53Speaker 6: I got that. I was like, I think they're totally
- 47:55Speaker 6: going to monster squad it. I was like, I'm pretty
- 47:57Speaker 6: sure that's how they're going to get out of this pact,
- 47:59Speaker 6: is that scene where we cut away.
- 48:01Speaker 7: Sure, this guy's got NARS.
- 48:02Speaker 6: Jumping, yeah, jumping at, well, probably. We got that scene
- 48:05Speaker 6: as well.
- 48:06Speaker 9: Yeah, we did.
- 48:07Speaker 6: So, but yeah, I was like, as soon as, again,
- 48:10Speaker 6: not to jump to the end, but just for that
- 48:11Speaker 6: line alone, like at that point, everybody's coming to the
- 48:14Speaker 6: realization that he's not a virgin anymore. And what does
- 48:20Speaker 6: shirtless dude serve us up?
- 48:22Speaker 7: Not even mad at you, bro.
- 48:22Speaker 6: Not even mad.
- 48:23Speaker 7: He's like, dude, you are stunned.
- 48:26Speaker 6: Not even mad, bro. God damn, he's funny. All of them,
- 48:35Speaker 6: except for the weird flamethrower girl. She's annoying. But all
- 48:39Speaker 6: the rest of them, like, the other guy's funny, too. Like,
- 48:42Speaker 6: he hung around the whole time this time. He didn't
- 48:44Speaker 6: have to be the first guy killed, which was his
- 48:45Speaker 6: joke last time, wasn't it?
- 48:47Speaker 14: Like.
- 48:48Speaker 6: How come I gotta be the first one to get it? Oh, yeah.
- 48:51Speaker 6: He was through the whole movie, pretty much. Again, just
- 48:55Speaker 6: consistently funny. Everybody else in this is funny. It's like,
- 48:59Speaker 6: you just need to hand this rough draft over to
- 49:03Speaker 6: another writer to be like, let's smooth out some of
- 49:06Speaker 6: these edges and come up with a few references that
- 49:09Speaker 6: make sense in this movie.
- 49:10Speaker 7: I still liked it. I fully enjoyed myself. I laughed.
- 49:19Speaker 6: I laughed i enjoyed a lot of it but i
- 49:21Speaker 6: cannot turn off the part of my brain that's like
- 49:24Speaker 6: dude what are you doing like i know you like
- 49:28Speaker 6: risky business but I had to check before. I was like,
- 49:32Speaker 6: I am 99% sure that cheesy theme music they kept
- 49:37Speaker 6: playing when it was the romance. But I'm like, there's
- 49:40Speaker 6: a very specific scene, other than dancing in his underwear,
- 49:44Speaker 6: the other scene that everybody remembers from that is there's
- 49:48Speaker 6: a scene on a subway and Rebecca DuMornay comes along
- 49:53Speaker 6: and it's a big, for 1983 or whatever the hell
- 49:56Speaker 6: that was, steamy love scene where that Tangerine Dream is
- 50:01Speaker 6: playing in the background there, which is what they kept
- 50:04Speaker 6: throwing in the back of this babysitter movie. Every time
- 50:06Speaker 6: the guy was alone with the cute girl, they were
- 50:10Speaker 6: playing some Tangerine Dream.
- 50:11Speaker 7: Which one was that?
- 50:13Speaker 6: The one I played earlier.
- 50:15Speaker 7: Oh, that little techno-y song?
- 50:16Speaker 6: Yeah, that's what's playing in the background in Risky Business,
- 50:21Speaker 6: and he worked in at least twice in this movie.
- 50:23Speaker 6: Every time it needed some sort of Cool, heavy, romantic
- 50:28Speaker 6: music for them to get close to.
- 50:30Speaker 7: I thought you were talking about the Kemosabe Jump On
- 50:32Speaker 7: It songs.
- 50:32Speaker 6: Oh, God.
- 50:33Speaker 7: Or Apache.
- 50:34Speaker 6: Because, again, that's something that 14-year-olds would get. Even the
- 50:39Speaker 6: jam box sitting there. I'm like, at least he made
- 50:43Speaker 6: reference to the fact that it was old. But still, like,
- 50:45Speaker 6: I don't know. You're losing your jam box audience these days.
- 50:50Speaker 7: Yeah, it was the Sugar Hill Gang you asked earlier.
- 50:53Speaker 6: Yeah, I was trying to figure out who.
- 50:54Speaker 7: Did that song. I think they did a dance scene
- 50:57Speaker 7: on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air with Will Smith and Carlton.
- 51:03Speaker 7: They did a dance routine that my sister then did
- 51:07Speaker 7: at her wedding. Notice she did not ask me if
- 51:10Speaker 7: I wanted to be part of this routine.
- 51:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 51:13Speaker 12: No.
- 51:13Speaker 6: I mean, she knows you enough not to waste her time.
- 51:15Speaker 3: Didn't the DJ try to come get... No, we.
- 51:18Speaker 7: Went and hid. We went and hid in the bathroom, Mary.
- 51:21Speaker 6: That sounds about right.
- 51:22Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 51:23Speaker 3: I'm not getting up and dancing, not for somebody's wedding.
- 51:26Speaker 3: I fucking didn't get up and dance for my wedding.
- 51:29Speaker 3: I sure as fucking getting up and dancing for somebody
- 51:31Speaker 3: else's wedding. I'm sorry, but we're party poopers.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Oh.
- 51:35Speaker 7: I'm not a public dancer. Nope.
- 51:37Speaker 6: I regularly... I'm not even a private dancer. I'm not
- 51:41Speaker 6: even dancing for a moment.
- 51:42Speaker 7: Oh, please. I've seen your Santa Claus dance.
- 51:45Speaker 6: That's a Santa Claus dance. Leave that alone. Anyway, I'm
- 51:51Speaker 6: assuming you'd like me to move on.
- 51:53Speaker 3: I forgot about that.
- 52:01Speaker 7: She snorted. Why are we acting surprised that I snorted?
- 52:07Speaker 7: Happens all the time.
- 52:08Speaker 6: Above and beyond. So happy to see Jenna Ortega is
- 52:13Speaker 6: the new girl that comes in here. The one that
- 52:15Speaker 6: killed her parents. Again, these are the only shows I watch.
- 52:21Speaker 7: I don't even know who she is.
- 52:23Speaker 6: She's stuck in the middle. Again, another show made for 11-year-olds.
- 52:28Speaker 6: I'm working the other way.
- 52:29Speaker 7: I can't wait for her to be the bad person.
- 52:31Speaker 7: I didn't trust her.
- 52:32Speaker 6: I told you, that comes in the trilogy.
- 52:34Speaker 7: Okay.
- 52:35Speaker 6: Because last time... the girl that he thought was his friend,
- 52:39Speaker 6: then comes out to be trying to kill him.
- 52:42Speaker 7: So I guess really, if he was going to stick
- 52:43Speaker 7: with this pattern, in the third one, she makes a
- 52:46Speaker 7: deal to get her parents back.
- 52:48Speaker 6: And has to kill him and drink his not-so-virgin-y blood.
- 52:52Speaker 7: Maybe he's the sacrifice now. They have to find another virgin,
- 52:56Speaker 7: but he's the sacrifice.
- 52:59Speaker 6: See?
- 52:59Speaker 7: I worked it around, too. I can write this shit.
- 53:02Speaker 7: I can throw out some references that nobody who will
- 53:06Speaker 7: watch it will get. Is it Ken Marino? Is that
- 53:11Speaker 7: his name?
- 53:11Speaker 6: See, that's another. Like I said, everybody in this. I
- 53:14Speaker 6: can watch him in anything. He is so damn entertaining.
- 53:18Speaker 7: Was he on.
- 53:20Speaker 6: He was on The State originally. That's where I know
- 53:22Speaker 6: him from. I'm assuming your go-to is Veronica. But... Oh
- 53:28Speaker 6: my god. He is always funny. No matter what ridiculous
- 53:32Speaker 6: thing they put him in, he is so damn entertaining.
- 53:35Speaker 7: Yeah, I never watched The State. I always watched Kids
- 53:37Speaker 7: in the Hall.
- 53:38Speaker 6: Also amazing, but two totally different approaches.
- 53:44Speaker 7: What are you looking up?
- 53:45Speaker 6: Well, in the middle of the movie, you said you
- 53:49Speaker 6: didn't think you'd seen A Death by Surfboard before. Yeah.
- 53:52Speaker 6: I was thinking it was Point Break. It's Lethal Weapon 2.
- 53:56Speaker 7: Which I've never seen.
- 53:57Speaker 6: Features a decapitation by surfboard. But I knew. I was like,
- 54:00Speaker 6: I know I've seen that in something before.
- 54:02Speaker 7: Which I can still say that I've never seen a
- 54:04Speaker 7: movie with a decapitation by surfboard because I've never seen
- 54:07Speaker 7: Lethal Weapon 1 or 2. How many does it make?
- 54:09Speaker 6: I'm just saying, I'd seen it somewhere and I was like,
- 54:12Speaker 6: it's some action movie. What the hell was it? So
- 54:14Speaker 6: I had to try to go figure that out. It
- 54:17Speaker 6: may also be in Surf Nazis Must Die. I saw
- 54:21Speaker 6: that movie a long time ago.
- 54:21Speaker 7: Was there any decapitation by surfboard?
- 54:23Speaker 6: I don't remember.
- 54:24Speaker 3: It's been so long since I've seen that movie.
- 54:28Speaker 6: Also, maybe on an episode of Dead Like Me.
- 54:31Speaker 7: I love Dead Like Me.
- 54:33Speaker 6: Possibly Licensed to Kill. There's a lot of them listed here,
- 54:35Speaker 6: but we did have a death by surfboard in this movie.
- 54:40Speaker 6: There's a large Marge reference.
- 54:42Speaker 3: Yeah there's a large margin which.
- 54:44Speaker 6: Don't get me wrong i make large margin references all
- 54:47Speaker 6: the time yeah i'm an old man and i think
- 54:49Speaker 6: peewee's awesome so like to me that was funny but
- 54:54Speaker 6: i'm just like.
- 54:54Speaker 7: What i appreciated the reference because i got it i
- 54:58Speaker 7: did too but if they make references about 14 year
- 55:01Speaker 7: olds i'm not gonna get it so i appreciated this
- 55:04Speaker 7: movie it just needs.
- 55:05Speaker 6: To be a leveling out like you can work some
- 55:07Speaker 6: of those in but it's just gotta it's gotta make
- 55:10Speaker 6: sense where you Shove them in there, McG. Come on now.
- 55:14Speaker 7: Nope, no sense.
- 55:15Speaker 6: Obviously not. I will say, once it gets to the
- 55:21Speaker 6: sillier parts, it becomes a cartoon.
- 55:24Speaker 7: The fight scene?
- 55:26Speaker 6: When the boulder falls on her.
- 55:28Speaker 7: Oh, that was hilarious. I was like, this is.
- 55:30Speaker 6: Just Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote now.
- 55:32Speaker 7: I was just questioning how they pulled their head off
- 55:34Speaker 7: so easily.
- 55:35Speaker 6: Again, very gory cartoony, but a little more Tom and
- 55:39Speaker 6: Jerry there. But yeah, I was like, when it gets
- 55:41Speaker 6: to those levels, it's very fun in a super over-the-top
- 55:46Speaker 6: cartoony cheeseball.
- 55:49Speaker 7: Video game fight.
- 55:50Speaker 6: Video game fight. Once again, what normal movie would do that? Luckily,
- 55:56Speaker 6: this is not a normal movie because that also wouldn't
- 55:59Speaker 6: put things on the screen like, what the fuck? Again?
- 56:05Speaker 6: On the screen it said that. In the middle of
- 56:08Speaker 6: this movie.
- 56:08Speaker 7: You're not bringing me down. You're logic. Trying to point
- 56:11Speaker 7: out the logic is not going to ruin my experience.
- 56:13Speaker 6: There's no place for logic in a McG movie.
- 56:16Speaker 7: That's what I'm saying. Quit trying to force it in there.
- 56:18Speaker 7: Quit trying to shoehorn it in there. Quit trying to
- 56:21Speaker 7: make it fit. Because I enjoy things the way I
- 56:25Speaker 7: enjoy things. You can't talk me.
- 56:27Speaker 6: Out of it. I'm not trying to. I just question
- 56:30Speaker 6: the decisions of McG. I think everyone has since that
- 56:37Speaker 6: Terminator movie.
- 56:39Speaker 7: Which one did he make? The Terminator movie?
- 56:41Speaker 6: Yeah, that's exactly. All of everyone went, wait, no, I'm sorry.
- 56:46Speaker 6: We're not going to.
- 56:46Speaker 7: Which one did he make?
- 56:47Speaker 6: The fourth one.
- 56:49Speaker 7: Which one was that? I don't remember.
- 56:50Speaker 6: The one that doesn't tie to, it's the going back
- 56:52Speaker 6: in time, put Christian Bale yelling at people in it.
- 56:56Speaker 7: Oh, he yells at people anyways. I literally only watched
- 56:59Speaker 7: two Terminator movies.
- 57:01Speaker 6: Those were the good ones. I enjoyed these last two,
- 57:04Speaker 6: but no one else seems to. So I don't try
- 57:06Speaker 6: to force it on people. I'm just like, fine, don't
- 57:08Speaker 6: like them. I don't care. They're entertaining. Again, those are
- 57:12Speaker 6: ones that I'm on board for. And people want to
- 57:14Speaker 6: try to point out all the problems in those. And
- 57:16Speaker 6: I'm like, I don't care. It's a fun time at
- 57:19Speaker 6: the Terminator. So that's what we get here. Fun times
- 57:21Speaker 6: with the babysitter.
- 57:23Speaker 7: Yeah, even though she's only very briefly.
- 57:26Speaker 6: She's in a lot of flashback seconds. Very few seconds sometimes.
- 57:30Speaker 6: And then we kind of get a scene at the
- 57:32Speaker 6: end there. Which is why I was like, she's just
- 57:35Speaker 6: massively unavailable, I guess. Because I kind of, I saw
- 57:39Speaker 6: the trailer.
- 57:39Speaker 7: She's like chiseling those cheekbones down to a point.
- 57:41Speaker 6: I saw the trailer, I was like, so they just
- 57:43Speaker 6: couldn't get the babysitter to come back to the babysitter movie?
- 57:46Speaker 6: Because that seems like that could be an issue. But
- 57:50Speaker 6: they worked around it. They found a stand-in, and they
- 57:52Speaker 6: got her to do a nice cameo, plus some extra
- 57:55Speaker 6: little mini cameos, so.
- 57:58Speaker 7: I'm truly not trying to talk shit about her. She
- 58:00Speaker 7: just does look massively different. I've only seen her in that,
- 58:06Speaker 7: the first movie. I don't know if this has been
- 58:10Speaker 7: an ongoing thing. If this was her end result. If
- 58:14Speaker 7: she's trying to audition for Skeletor in the new movie.
- 58:17Speaker 7: I don't know these things. That sounded like an asshole
- 58:21Speaker 7: thing to say.
- 58:22Speaker 6: You're going to have a hard fight trying to beat
- 58:24Speaker 6: out Frank Langella. That dude dialed it to 11.
- 58:28Speaker 7: I've never seen the movie.
- 58:30Speaker 6: It's the reason to watch it. Skeletor is awesome. The
- 58:34Speaker 6: rest is ridiculous. It's another one of those that's more
- 58:38Speaker 6: of an 80s movie than the actual product that it's
- 58:41Speaker 6: supposed to be based upon.
- 58:43Speaker 7: Well, Dolph Lundgren's pretty hot in it, isn't he?
- 58:46Speaker 6: I guess, but he tries to say lines and he
- 58:48Speaker 6: shouldn't really deliver lines. He should just pose.
- 58:52Speaker 7: He was a hottie.
- 58:53Speaker 6: He must break you. That's all he needs to say.
- 58:56Speaker 7: What did you make me watch that had Dolph Lundgren
- 58:58Speaker 7: in it?
- 59:00Speaker 6: Fucking Universal Soldier. I knew what it was. I was
- 59:03Speaker 6: just taking a guess. Knowing you, I'm going to guess
- 59:07Speaker 6: Universal Soldier. Oh, yeah. yeah.
- 59:11Speaker 7: Because then we watched it and we were like, how
- 59:12Speaker 7: many more of these did they make? And holy shit,
- 59:14Speaker 7: the list kept on growing.
- 59:16Speaker 6: Oh yeah. Ones that nobody knew about. I'm like, I'm
- 59:18Speaker 6: not even sure the actors knew they came out with
- 59:20Speaker 6: some extra ones. I think they just shot some scenes
- 59:23Speaker 6: on the side while they were at lunch or something
- 59:25Speaker 6: and were like, look, we slapped another one together.
- 59:27Speaker 7: But then they eventually brought them all back for like,
- 59:30Speaker 7: I guess they pretended the middle ones didn't exist.
- 59:31Speaker 6: Eventually everybody just gets desperate and they're just like, what
- 59:33Speaker 6: else have I got to do? Fine. They haven't made
- 59:36Speaker 6: Creed yet. I need to do something.
- 59:39Speaker 7: Good times. I enjoyed this movie. I give it two
- 59:42Speaker 7: thumbs up.
- 59:44Speaker 6: I will say possibly the best joke in the whole
- 59:48Speaker 6: thing because it was subtle and understated. Hold on.
- 59:52Speaker 7: Wait a second. Nothing in this movie.
- 59:55Speaker 6: Well, you might have missed it. So it was at
- 59:57Speaker 6: least quieter than the rest of them. Because when the
- 1:00:03Speaker 6: fake stand-in babysitter blonde girl, when her dad is going
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: on and on about his car, and they're driving up
- 1:00:10Speaker 6: there to get it, and they're on the phone with
- 1:00:12Speaker 6: the state guy's wife, and they're like, no, we found him.
- 1:00:16Speaker 6: We're on the way to go get him. And she's like, oh, God,
- 1:00:18Speaker 6: you found him? Is he okay? And the dad goes...
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: Was he ever really okay? I was like, okay, that
- 1:00:25Speaker 6: was funny. Because let's be real, that kid was a
- 1:00:27Speaker 6: mess before. There's no okay. I mean, he's alive, but okay.
- 1:00:34Speaker 6: So that may be the best joke in the entire movie.
- 1:00:37Speaker 7: But then I'm like, I'm wondering because, okay, the dad
- 1:00:41Speaker 7: saw the babysitter. Spoiler alert. What happened in that whole scenario?
- 1:00:47Speaker 6: Black smoke.
- 1:00:49Speaker 7: How fucking high was the dad?
- 1:00:52Speaker 6: See, I assumed that would be his out later. He's
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: trying to explain it to mom and he's like, you
- 1:00:56Speaker 6: had the pot. You're on the pot.
- 1:00:59Speaker 7: Did you take the pot?
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 1:01:01Speaker 6: He's on the pot. Yeah. But they very specifically gave
- 1:01:06Speaker 6: us a lead in for the triology. We saw that
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: book that they mentioned that I kind of forgot all
- 1:01:13Speaker 6: about from the first movie because it's been two or
- 1:01:15Speaker 6: three years. So, yeah, they did a little... Stinger at
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: the end of a book that could very easily bring
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: us a third movie in this series. Dare to Dream.
- 1:01:27Speaker 7: I'll watch it.
- 1:01:28Speaker 6: I will too. I mean, that's what I said when
- 1:01:30Speaker 6: I saw this one. I was like, I don't know
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: that they needed to do another one, but I'll watch it.
- 1:01:35Speaker 7: I'll have to make up a new email address so
- 1:01:38Speaker 7: I can get another free trial on Netflix.
- 1:01:43Speaker 6: Oh, Netflix.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: Yeah, but they use your phone number too. Damn.
- 1:01:47Speaker 6: You're going to have to keep getting a lot of.
- 1:01:48Speaker 7: You got a burner phone?
- 1:01:49Speaker 6: Yeah, we'll use my burner phone. Burner phones for your Netflix.
- 1:01:54Speaker 6: I got to get my Netflix feed. It's okay.
- 1:01:58Speaker 7: I mean, is it going to watch The Haunting of
- 1:02:00Speaker 7: the Bly Manor? Is that what the new one is?
- 1:02:03Speaker 7: Have you seen the trailer for it?
- 1:02:04Speaker 6: Is this another one of those remakes of that same story?
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: Is it The Turn of the Screw Again?
- 1:02:09Speaker 7: It's The Haunting of Hill House or whatever. But it's...
- 1:02:12Speaker 7: I guess they're... Some of the actors are the same.
- 1:02:14Speaker 6: Well, but isn't it though? I thought the... second season
- 1:02:18Speaker 6: was going to be essentially an adaptation of turn of
- 1:02:21Speaker 6: the screw turned into which is again the same story
- 1:02:25Speaker 6: told over and over now.
- 1:02:27Speaker 7: I loved the first season i was very very impressed
- 1:02:30Speaker 7: with that and i was kind of bummed that we
- 1:02:32Speaker 7: weren't going to be able to watch the second season
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: because we have canceled on the netflix but i got
- 1:02:36Speaker 7: a free trial i'll say free sample free sample you
- 1:02:40Speaker 7: want sample sample simple because i mean yeah I didn't
- 1:02:46Speaker 7: realize there was stuff I wanted to watch on Netflix
- 1:02:47Speaker 7: until we aren't going to have Netflix anymore. I don't know.
- 1:02:50Speaker 7: I'm curious about Ratchet. Have you seen Ratchet?
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: I've seen the promos for it. I mean, she's a
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: great actress. Again, do we need this whole spinoff series
- 1:03:01Speaker 6: on a character that not everybody was thinking of these days?
- 1:03:06Speaker 6: If you can do something interesting with it, go for it. Again,
- 1:03:08Speaker 6: you've got a great actress. We'll see. Everybody seems to
- 1:03:12Speaker 6: like it so far. Awesome. Alright, we have definitely covered
- 1:03:17Speaker 6: our McG action for the night. Maybe I'll see you
- 1:03:21Speaker 6: again before 2021. I don't know.
- 1:03:22Speaker 7: How it is.
- 1:03:23Speaker 6: There's no guarantees the way it's going.
- 1:03:27Speaker 7: There's a few more conventions that might happen.
- 1:03:30Speaker 6: We'll see. Those are a thing of the past, or
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: hopefully the future, but I don't know. We shall see.
- 1:03:36Speaker 7: There have been a couple of conventions that have actually
- 1:03:38Speaker 7: happened this year. We just didn't go to them.
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: Because we had some common sense. Not much, but some.
- 1:03:46Speaker 7: I'm lacking in common sense. If they actually bring one
- 1:03:48Speaker 7: close enough, I'm like, fuck it, I'm going to go.
- 1:03:50Speaker 6: I mean, again, eventually, hopefully, the world will pan out
- 1:03:57Speaker 6: or enough people will just keel over that we'll start
- 1:04:00Speaker 6: over and we'll have to start a new society or
- 1:04:02Speaker 6: whatever the hell happens. I don't know. But eventually, hopefully,
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: far enough down the line, we'll be able to have
- 1:04:08Speaker 6: some sort of normal life again. That's yet to be seen.
- 1:04:13Speaker 6: On that cheery note, I'd say we're rounding this one out. Otherwise,
- 1:04:17Speaker 6: that about does it. We will return next time. Same
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: geek feed. Thanks for listening.
- 1:04:20Speaker 7: Bye.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: Bye.
- 1:04:34Speaker 8: This party's over for me Fellas, I've got to go
- 1:04:41Speaker 8: There's a little girl waiting for me To walk through
- 1:04:45Speaker 8: her door I've got to hurry So my baby won't worry.
- 1:04:53Speaker 16: Cause she's my pure delight.
- 1:05:00Speaker 11: And my baby is my lady And my lady is
- 1:05:02Speaker 11: my baby I'm babysitting I'm babysitting I'm babysitting tonight Yeah.
- 1:05:11Speaker 13: Yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:28Speaker 16: I'll hold her close to me, give her my protection,
- 1:05:37Speaker 16: all that she needs.
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: I'll tell her that she's so sweet, kiss her on
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: her cheek, then I'll.
- 1:05:51Speaker 11: Cause my baby is my baby And my baby is
- 1:05:56Speaker 11: my lady.
- 1:05:57Speaker 13: My baby's sitting down My baby's sitting down My baby's
- 1:06:02Speaker 13: sitting down My baby's sitting down Oh.
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: Yeah Well, I know just how.
- 1:06:22Speaker 13: To soothe her. If she starts to cry, I'm going
- 1:06:31Speaker 13: to give her a pacifier.
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: I'm really going to sign this fire.
- 1:06:37Speaker 13: I can make her feel good inside. Oh, yeah. Two, two, two.
- 1:06:46Speaker 10: No, no, no.
- 1:06:47Speaker 7: Uh-huh, uh-huh.
- 1:06:50Speaker 13: I'm gonna rock-a-bye my baby till she won't stop.
- 1:06:56Speaker 4: Sing her lullaby and I'll make her pray to rock.
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: And she won't anything at all.
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: Anything at all.
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: At her beck and call. At her beck and call.
- 1:07:07Speaker 14: To make everything all. Cause my baby, she's my lady.
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: And my lady, she's my baby. I'm babysitting you. I'm
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: babysitting you.
- 1:07:29Speaker 13: I'm babysitting you.
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: I'm babysitting you tonight. Oh, I'm babysitting you.
- 1:07:35Speaker 13: I'm babysitting you.
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: I'm babysitting you tonight.
- 1:07:50Speaker 13: The cat and the fiddle The cow jumped over.
- 1:07:55Speaker 10: The moon Tonight Girl, don't you have no fear Tonight
- 1:07:58Speaker 10: Stand right here
- 1:08:14Speaker 10: .
- 1:08:16Speaker 11: .
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: .
- 1:08:33Speaker 11: .
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: .
- 1:08:37Speaker 7: .
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: Stayed at home tonight.
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: Tonight.
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: And a good night.
- 1:08:47Speaker 8: I'm babysitting y'all.
- 1:08:49Speaker 13: Tonight.
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: Wrapping my baby. Stayed at home tonight.
- 1:08:55Speaker 13: Tonight.
- 1:08:51Speaker 10: What the hell was that?
- 1:09:03Speaker 7: Were you running through the desert in fuck me pumps?
