- 0:00Dave Hamilton: Business Brain, episode 765 for Casual Friday. I June 26th, the National Food Truck Day, 2026.
- 0:10Dave Hamilton: Welcome back to Business Brain. We got to get the lyrics back in here, Shannon.
- 0:15Shannon Jean: A little bit.
- 0:15Dave Hamilton: We need a little bit of the lyrics, I think.
- 0:17Shannon Jean: And I love food trucks, man.
- 0:18Dave Hamilton: Oh, same. Yeah, it's a, I like food truck pods where there's multiples and you
- 0:25Dave Hamilton: can kind of, everybody in the family gets to pick a different thing to eat and
- 0:29Dave Hamilton: like it's a it's a social experience
- 0:31Dave Hamilton: absolutely yep yes yep yep do you have food truck pods in california is that
- 0:36Dave Hamilton: all over man okay everywhere
- 0:38Shannon Jean: You go you.
- 0:38Dave Hamilton: Have we have one
- 0:40Shannon Jean: We have a big one here called off grid where they they they uh swarm up to certain
- 0:45Shannon Jean: areas and have them in the evening and i i love them but i will tell you one
- 0:49Shannon Jean: thing a good food truck is not fast.
- 0:52Dave Hamilton: Oh no not necessarily it takes a while yeah
- 0:54Shannon Jean: It takes a while because it's like a restaurant but maybe even harder to create
- 0:57Shannon Jean: a good you know great experience but i love it yeah i'm a huge fan.
- 1:01Dave Hamilton: Now we have we have a place near us that really reminds me of what you get in oregon uh
- 1:07Dave Hamilton: and it was definitely inspired by the the food truck pods that are permanently
- 1:12Dave Hamilton: placed it's called tideline public house it's a mile from my house which i love
- 1:15Dave Hamilton: because i can walk there they have
- 1:17Dave Hamilton: a tap room there nice i love it and then the food trucks outside and it's just
- 1:21Dave Hamilton: a vibe it's it's a great thing that's so cool yeah Yeah. Yeah. It's a good thing.
- 1:26Shannon Jean: I love it.
- 1:28Dave Hamilton: You want me to do you want me to start things here for Friday? I have a question.
- 1:32Shannon Jean: Yeah. Yeah. Ask me that. Ask me the question.
- 1:34Dave Hamilton: So is the question I've been asking us, you, me, you know, our listeners here.
- 1:42Dave Hamilton: Well, I'm about to is is AI stealing our creative, immersive, digital time.
- 1:50Dave Hamilton: And I don't mean is AI taking the jobs of of creative professionals?
- 1:56Dave Hamilton: That's a different conversation, but that's not what I'm asking here.
- 1:59Dave Hamilton: But what I'm what I'm asking is, is AI so is such a.
- 2:05Dave Hamilton: Compelling distraction that like social media, it's taking the time that we're
- 2:11Dave Hamilton: on our devices that we could be creative with and we're simply doing something else.
- 2:20Shannon Jean: Yes. Great. Thanks for the show, folks. Have a good weekend.
- 2:24Dave Hamilton: We'll be finding theme music again.
- 2:26Shannon Jean: Yeah, that's right. Yes. I also think, and I'm not sure if you mean this,
- 2:31Shannon Jean: but I have seen a lot of this in the last six months with clients and members
- 2:36Shannon Jean: in our mastermind where they are,
- 2:39Shannon Jean: building something in AI instead of taking action to really get something done.
- 2:48Shannon Jean: Instead of like in my mastermind is full of resellers, right?
- 2:52Shannon Jean: So instead of focusing on reselling and listings and taking pictures and buying
- 2:57Shannon Jean: stuff to sell, they're building an app.
- 3:01Shannon Jean: They're going down a rabbit hole. And some of them, it's great.
- 3:05Shannon Jean: And even halfway done, it could be very helpful and productive.
- 3:10Shannon Jean: But I have seen some of them using it as another barrier.
- 3:14Shannon Jean: I need to learn one more thing. I need to get it to this next level,
- 3:18Shannon Jean: then I can go, you know, it's set.
- 3:20Dave Hamilton: Wouldn't it be cool if I could do X with AI, right?
- 3:25Dave Hamilton: And all of that can live under the guise of this is productivity.
- 3:33Dave Hamilton: Yeah, that's correct. Some of it can be.
- 3:35Dave Hamilton: It's fake productivity. It's faux-ductivity.
- 3:41Shannon Jean: Faux-ductivity. I love that. Okay. It's a big takeaway for the day. But yeah, it is.
- 3:48Shannon Jean: Because now it's not to say that there aren't really great things and that we
- 3:53Shannon Jean: talk about here every week that you can get done.
- 3:55Shannon Jean: But if you, I think you have to be self-aware. If you're one of these types
- 4:00Shannon Jean: of people and I find myself doing it too, not pointing fingers at you, not at you.
- 4:05Dave Hamilton: You can point them at me. I'm sure it's true. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:09Shannon Jean: Yes. It is easy to sit down and,
- 4:14Shannon Jean: you know, go through these motions and prompts and try to make things and do
- 4:19Shannon Jean: all this stuff instead of doing, because it's not as hard as it used to be,
- 4:25Shannon Jean: instead of doing the hard work that you know needs to get done or action you
- 4:30Shannon Jean: have to take pick it but god forbid picking up the phone because nobody wants
- 4:35Shannon Jean: to do that anymore yeah you can get lost in it and i think it does steal your attention.
- 4:39Dave Hamilton: It that's not so sure that's what i'm asking is is it like just like social media
- 4:44Dave Hamilton: i think for different reasons maybe different reasons i don't know might all
- 4:47Dave Hamilton: be related to the dopamine i mean the thing is like ai can and i've said it
- 4:53Dave Hamilton: before and i will say it again it remains true that ai
- 4:57Dave Hamilton: not just can be for me is the single biggest procrastination eliminator i've
- 5:02Dave Hamilton: ever found because i can be thinking i don't want to do that stupid grunt work
- 5:07Dave Hamilton: or whatever and then i ask ai about it
- 5:10Dave Hamilton: and now i'm in it right it just it's a trick it's a brain hack to get me in
- 5:14Dave Hamilton: it and sometimes it's actually helping me with the thing but yeah sometimes
- 5:19Dave Hamilton: it's not but it doesn't matter because it's got me started on the thing right
- 5:22Dave Hamilton: or I've gotten myself started with it.
- 5:24Dave Hamilton: The problem is it's a fine line between am I going to like, I'm at this point
- 5:31Dave Hamilton: where I don't want to do the thing.
- 5:33Dave Hamilton: And so I use AI and I ask it basically help me with blank page syndrome,
- 5:37Dave Hamilton: you know, in whatever context that matters in that particular moment.
- 5:41Dave Hamilton: And sometimes it gets me right on the path and I'm good to go.
- 5:45Dave Hamilton: And other times it's like, or you could be productive with this other path.
- 5:51Dave Hamilton: And now I'm lost, right? And so I think we need to be aware of that.
- 5:58Dave Hamilton: And again, this isn't new with AI. We like computers in general,
- 6:04Dave Hamilton: screens, television did this to us too, right?
- 6:07Shannon Jean: Oh yeah, yeah, there's a million things. And, but I think to,
- 6:12Shannon Jean: yeah, it is easy to, I mean, social media is the worst, right?
- 6:16Shannon Jean: Easy to lose an hour just like, oh shoot, what time? Oh my gosh,
- 6:20Shannon Jean: I just got lost and all this Instagram or whatever you're looking at. But...
- 6:26Shannon Jean: You got to be careful that,
- 6:30Shannon Jean: it's asking yourself that question. Is this the best use of,
- 6:33Shannon Jean: what are you trying to achieve?
- 6:34Shannon Jean: Like my thing I ask every single day, what's the most important thing to do to generate revenue?
- 6:41Shannon Jean: Because every day I started zero. In the morning, zero. So I'm like,
- 6:44Shannon Jean: okay, what is the most important thing to do?
- 6:47Shannon Jean: It may be spending an hour with an AI.
- 6:51Shannon Jean: Correct. With Claude figuring stuff out. And I have some examples of that we're
- 6:55Shannon Jean: going to talk about later on this episode. Or it may be, you know what?
- 7:00Shannon Jean: I need to get up and go out and record some video.
- 7:03Shannon Jean: Or I need to get on the phone because I have this problem I need to get resolved.
- 7:06Shannon Jean: Or, you know, something you really don't want to do. Like, man,
- 7:10Shannon Jean: I got to call the IRS back or I have to deal with the county or I got to deal
- 7:13Shannon Jean: with those things we all just hate.
- 7:18Shannon Jean: I think it is just another distraction.
- 7:20Shannon Jean: Like I'm not a huge fan of telling people to read business books.
- 7:24Shannon Jean: I like reading business biographies. I happen to think they're more impactful
- 7:29Shannon Jean: to me because they're more story driven and I retain them better.
- 7:33Shannon Jean: But nuts and bolts, figuring out strategies and stuff from a book,
- 7:37Shannon Jean: it's just not for me. And I think it's just a way, another way to procrastinate.
- 7:42Shannon Jean: And I think you can do the same thing with AI for sure. In a heartbeat.
- 7:46Dave Hamilton: I love this. And if you have thoughts on it, folks. Feedback at businessbrain.show.
- 7:50Dave Hamilton: I have a question, though, that came to me while we were having this conversation.
- 7:54Dave Hamilton: You mentioned your mastermind.
- 7:56Dave Hamilton: Why don't we have a business brain mastermind? And when I say brain and I stretch
- 8:01Dave Hamilton: the word out, I mean, B-R-A-I, capital A-I-N.
- 8:07Dave Hamilton: This seems to be right in our wheelhouse. Like, this is the mastermind for us to create, I think.
- 8:15Shannon Jean: Yeah, I would agree.
- 8:17Dave Hamilton: This would be for you listening. So you got to let us know if this is something
- 8:22Dave Hamilton: that resonates with you. But I think there's a world here for us.
- 8:26Shannon Jean: Yeah. I would, I love it. If we had, if there was demand where people wanted
- 8:31Shannon Jean: to come speak and be a part of a community and all those kinds of things, I think it's a great,
- 8:39Shannon Jean: vehicle for everyone to learn and to help out. And I've seen it with my mastermind
- 8:44Shannon Jean: over and over again. The key is velocity.
- 8:49Shannon Jean: Can you get enough active members involved that will drive it?
- 8:54Shannon Jean: Because it doesn't work if it's driven by you and I.
- 8:56Dave Hamilton: No, no, no, no, no, no. It's a community.
- 8:58Shannon Jean: It truly is a community.
- 8:59Dave Hamilton: We drive it first, and then the community starts to become the value. Of course, yes.
- 9:06Dave Hamilton: I say, of course, because I've built communities before. But if you haven't,
- 9:11Dave Hamilton: then maybe that's not self-evident. And so, yes, thank you for saying that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 9:15Shannon Jean: Awesome.
- 9:15Dave Hamilton: Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, we'll look into that. But let us know.
- 9:18Dave Hamilton: Feedback at businessbrain.show.
- 9:20Dave Hamilton: All right, we have more to talk about with AI. The next thing that I want to
- 9:24Dave Hamilton: do is talk about our sponsors.
- 9:27Dave Hamilton: As we often say on this show, right? Every business is in the content business.
- 9:32Dave Hamilton: It doesn't matter if you sell software or sandwiches, the way you reach people,
- 9:36Dave Hamilton: build trust and keep them coming back runs on content. And once you learn that,
- 9:41Dave Hamilton: the next question gets interesting.
- 9:44Dave Hamilton: If you're already making content, why aren't you earning from it directly?
- 9:48Dave Hamilton: And that, my friends, is what caught my attention about our sponsor, FanView.
- 9:54Dave Hamilton: Fanview is a creator monetization platform where you can build,
- 9:58Dave Hamilton: grow, and earn from your own digital content business.
- 10:02Dave Hamilton: You share exclusive content with subscribers. They support you directly,
- 10:06Dave Hamilton: and you turn an engaged audience into real recurring income.
- 10:11Dave Hamilton: And here's the part that fits our charmed life conversations perfectly.
- 10:14Dave Hamilton: The barrier to entry is almost nothing. No existing audience required,
- 10:19Dave Hamilton: no prior experience, and it works across any niche.
- 10:23Dave Hamilton: Fitness, cooking, business coaching, whatever your lane is, that's you, right?
- 10:28Dave Hamilton: The AI analytics give you clear visibility into what's actually earning and growing.
- 10:33Dave Hamilton: So you're building on data instead of on guesswork. I love this. It scales on your terms.
- 10:39Dave Hamilton: Heck, I'd monetize the sound of my own keyboard if enough people subscribed.
- 10:42Dave Hamilton: So if you've been creating value for an audience and watching everyone else
- 10:47Dave Hamilton: capture it, this is worth a look.
- 10:49Dave Hamilton: Are you ready to start your own creator journey and make it big visit fanview.com
- 10:55Dave Hamilton: today and launch your career that's fanvue.com
- 10:59Dave Hamilton: Go check it out i think you're going to like it just as much as we did and our
- 11:03Dave Hamilton: thanks to fanview for sponsoring this episode
- 11:06Dave Hamilton: And a quick question for the road warriors out there. When's the last time you
- 11:10Dave Hamilton: did real business on like coffee shop Wi-Fi, right?
- 11:14Dave Hamilton: When did you last check the company bank balance from, say, an airport lounge
- 11:19Dave Hamilton: or, you know, sent a contract from a hotel network that you'd never seen before? Right.
- 11:24Dave Hamilton: I'm raising my hand for all these. We all do it. That's the modern entrepreneur's
- 11:28Dave Hamilton: charmed life, right? We get to work from anywhere.
- 11:31Dave Hamilton: The problem is anywhere is exactly where your data is most exposed.
- 11:36Dave Hamilton: And that's why Bitdefender, our sponsor, stands out to me.
- 11:40Dave Hamilton: Bitdefender is a global leader in cybersecurity, and their ultimate small business
- 11:45Dave Hamilton: security is built for businesses of 25 or fewer employees who don't have an IT team on standby.
- 11:52Dave Hamilton: And one of the things I really like is they're unlimited VPN.
- 11:55Dave Hamilton: So you and your whole team can work from anywhere without leaving your data
- 11:59Dave Hamilton: like sitting out in the open.
- 12:01Dave Hamilton: On top of that, you get AI-powered scam and fraud protection tuned for small
- 12:05Dave Hamilton: business attacks, identity and dark web monitoring, password management,
- 12:10Dave Hamilton: and one simple dashboard to run all of it. No security degree required.
- 12:16Dave Hamilton: Keep your small business safe with Bitdefender Ultimate Small Business Security
- 12:20Dave Hamilton: and save 30% when you go to bitdefender.com slash brain.
- 12:25Dave Hamilton: That's bitdefender.com slash brain for 30% off. Check it out.
- 12:30Dave Hamilton: I think you're going to like it.
- 12:31Dave Hamilton: And our thanks to Bitdefender for sponsoring this episode.
- 12:36Shannon Jean: Okay, man.
- 12:36Dave Hamilton: Okay. What do you got?
- 12:38Shannon Jean: What do Rick Rubin, LL Cool J, and Claude have in common?
- 12:44Dave Hamilton: Rick Rubin, music producer, LL Cool J, music producer, and artist.
- 12:53Dave Hamilton: Singer, yeah. I mean, Rick could arguably be there. Claude, I'm assuming we're
- 12:57Dave Hamilton: talking about the Claude from Anthropics. Yes, we are.
- 13:00Dave Hamilton: Yes. It's a non-corporeal thing.
- 13:04Shannon Jean: I don't know what that word means.
- 13:05Dave Hamilton: It means it has no body. It has no body.
- 13:07Shannon Jean: It has no body.
- 13:08Dave Hamilton: Not human. Yes.
- 13:10Shannon Jean: Okay. So, Rick Rubin, I was listening to something about his biography or whatever.
- 13:18Dave Hamilton: Yes.
- 13:18Shannon Jean: He famously, when he produced LL Cool J's first big hit called I Need a Beat
- 13:26Shannon Jean: and his album Radio, and he listed himself as the reducer, not the producer.
- 13:33Shannon Jean: And he that's his role I'm not a producer, I'm a reducer and I've been using
- 13:40Shannon Jean: Claude for the last few weeks to improve my newsletter, so I use kit.com to run my newsletter,
- 13:49Shannon Jean: for my personal newsletter we've got about 22,000 subscribers and,
- 13:54Shannon Jean: But I've seen my.
- 13:59Shannon Jean: Click-through rate drop, and I've seen the open rates drop. And so I said,
- 14:02Shannon Jean: wow, that's interesting.
- 14:03Shannon Jean: I'm going to get Claude in because we talked about MCPs last week.
- 14:09Shannon Jean: So Kit came out with an MCP link. I put it into Claude in the connection section.
- 14:14Shannon Jean: I link it. I log in. So Claude's into all my data in Kit.
- 14:18Shannon Jean: And I pull it up. Hey, what's going on?
- 14:23Shannon Jean: I don't do big, giant prompts as much anymore. I have conversations more in
- 14:28Shannon Jean: a sense of I tell it, this is what I want to achieve. I need you to ask me questions.
- 14:34Shannon Jean: We need to narrow down what's going on.
- 14:37Shannon Jean: And the biggest thing Claude did for me was acting as a reducer.
- 14:43Shannon Jean: It eliminated so much of,
- 14:48Shannon Jean: it asked me, what do you want to achieve? I do two newsletters a week.
- 14:51Shannon Jean: Tuesday is a story newsletter, and Thursdays are a deal newsletter. They each.
- 14:58Shannon Jean: Are supposed to achieve different things. The story newsletter shows you results
- 15:03Shannon Jean: and how reselling has impacted my life and my mastermind members' lives.
- 15:08Shannon Jean: It's to get you to join the mastermind.
- 15:10Shannon Jean: The deal newsletter is different. It's to get you to register for deals or to
- 15:15Shannon Jean: come follow me on YouTube where I do deal deep dives.
- 15:18Shannon Jean: But it turns out, Claude was very good at pointing out, he's like,
- 15:22Shannon Jean: you're confusing people. You've got way too many links.
- 15:26Shannon Jean: You've got too many options. You've got too many calls to action.
- 15:30Shannon Jean: And by going back and forth, and it was Claude quizzing me and really look at,
- 15:36Shannon Jean: we reduced the CTAs down to a single CTA for each newsletter.
- 15:43Dave Hamilton: Yep.
- 15:44Shannon Jean: And while we did that We also worked on subject lines And previews Came up with
- 15:49Shannon Jean: a particular I fed it It had all my data And it's like Well,
- 15:53Shannon Jean: these were good And then they started to drop And so In the last,
- 15:59Shannon Jean: Two editions of the newsletter, my open rate went from 43.9% to the first one
- 16:08Shannon Jean: went 51%. The next one went a little over 52%.
- 16:14Shannon Jean: And my click rate has doubled.
- 16:17Shannon Jean: And all by making things smoother, by thinking of it as a journey that someone's
- 16:24Shannon Jean: reading down the page. Where are we leading?
- 16:26Dave Hamilton: You're telling them in one place.
- 16:28Shannon Jean: One place. What do you want to achieve? Not, well, I'd like him to do this and
- 16:32Shannon Jean: that and then this and that, because it's too much. It's just, it's too many choices.
- 16:37Shannon Jean: And so the takeaway here is that think about simplification, right?
- 16:45Shannon Jean: Most of us want to make things overly complex. Most of us want to achieve too many things at once.
- 16:50Shannon Jean: And leaning into AI, watching it just reduce, reduce, reduce,
- 16:55Shannon Jean: and highlighting what you really want to achieve. It's just made a big difference
- 16:59Shannon Jean: for me. I'm just looking at it right now on my stats for my newsletter. It's amazing.
- 17:03Dave Hamilton: So I love this. There's long been talk.
- 17:07Dave Hamilton: I mean, since I got involved in the podcast world, I mean, you know,
- 17:11Dave Hamilton: 20 whatever years ago, there's always been discussion of this,
- 17:15Dave Hamilton: like what's your call to action for your listeners for the episode, right?
- 17:19Dave Hamilton: You'll notice each of our sponsors has one call to action, right?
- 17:23Dave Hamilton: They're not telling you, go check this out here or visit us or, or, right.
- 17:28Dave Hamilton: And there's been discussion about that in shows, you know, should you ask people
- 17:31Dave Hamilton: to leave a review? Should you ask people to send in feedback?
- 17:34Dave Hamilton: Should you ask this? And and like there's a lot of discussion about whether
- 17:39Dave Hamilton: how much what's the right what's the right amount? Is it one? Yeah.
- 17:43Dave Hamilton: Is it more than one? And I think there's a there's a conversation to be had
- 17:47Dave Hamilton: there because it's nuanced. However, for something like a newsletter,
- 17:52Dave Hamilton: it makes perfect sense to narrow down to one.
- 17:54Dave Hamilton: But what the difference is between Rick Rubin and Claude is that Rick is reducing
- 18:03Dave Hamilton: based on his gut feelings and his experience.
- 18:07Shannon Jean: His experience, yes.
- 18:08Dave Hamilton: Which is great. Claude, I think you're going to be best served to do exactly
- 18:14Dave Hamilton: what you did, which is feeding Claude all of the data. And when we say Claude,
- 18:19Dave Hamilton: we mean whatever LLM you choose to use.
- 18:21Shannon Jean: Whatever, yeah.
- 18:22Dave Hamilton: Doesn't matter. matter uh i mean it might matter but you know choose your llm
- 18:25Dave Hamilton: go and feed it all the data you have and then let it reduce not based on a gut feeling or based
- 18:33Shannon Jean: On your data.
- 18:34Dave Hamilton: Your specific data absolutely yeah absolutely and i think that's the really
- 18:39Dave Hamilton: smart way to do this we have all of this data
- 18:42Dave Hamilton: we've had all of this data for a very long time what we have today is a data cruncher
- 18:50Dave Hamilton: that is better than anything anyone has had for decades.
- 18:56Dave Hamilton: Right. Yeah. It's really interesting.
- 19:00Dave Hamilton: Apple Computer, when they created their bug tracking system,
- 19:04Dave Hamilton: right, for like software, you know, they make software and they have a bug tracking system.
- 19:09Dave Hamilton: And they created, as they created it, they named the system Radar.
- 19:15Dave Hamilton: And, like, if you sit and talk amongst developers that write for,
- 19:21Dave Hamilton: you know, third-party apps or whatever, they'll talk about, oh,
- 19:24Dave Hamilton: yeah, I filed a Radar on that. I filed a Radar on this.
- 19:26Shannon Jean: Oh, I turned it into a verb.
- 19:28Dave Hamilton: Yes. Well, a noun, even, right? A noun. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:32Dave Hamilton: But what's interesting is where that word came from, it came from Radar O'Reilly. on Mesh. Oh, yeah.
- 19:41Dave Hamilton: Because Apple had this idea
- 19:44Dave Hamilton: They were going to get lots of bug reports about things, and they needed a system
- 19:48Dave Hamilton: that could synthesize all of this together and look for patterns and not just respond to one report.
- 19:55Dave Hamilton: But we needed the system itself to tell the humans what to go work on next.
- 20:00Dave Hamilton: Right. And and so it was looking at patterns and they've been doing this for a very long time.
- 20:04Dave Hamilton: Now, radar has gotten smarter over the years, but it's this concept of machine
- 20:09Dave Hamilton: learning, which is really what's at the core of what we call AI today,
- 20:14Dave Hamilton: is that is this pattern matching thing.
- 20:16Dave Hamilton: But I can only imagine what radar is able to do today based compared to,
- 20:20Dave Hamilton: say, what it could do 10 years ago or even 20 years ago. Right.
- 20:23Dave Hamilton: So but we have this all of us at our fingertips for twenty dollars a month or
- 20:30Dave Hamilton: less. Sometimes more. It's incredible. It's incredible.
- 20:34Dave Hamilton: And if you're not taking all the data from your business and feeding it in,
- 20:38Dave Hamilton: there's one of two reasons for it. One of three, maybe one, you haven't thought
- 20:41Dave Hamilton: to do it yet to you have privacy concerns that you need to sort out that deal with fine. Yep. Great.
- 20:48Dave Hamilton: And there's ways to get around that.
- 20:51Dave Hamilton: Yeah. Yeah. You do it all local and then it starts getting easier.
- 20:53Dave Hamilton: Right. And and then number three, you just know to do it, but you're not.
- 20:59Dave Hamilton: You've chosen not to do it for another reason. I don't know what that would be.
- 21:02Dave Hamilton: But like otherwise go do this because it's incredible, your superpower that you can leverage.
- 21:09Dave Hamilton: And if it just like everything else with AI that actually is productive,
- 21:13Dave Hamilton: not productive, uh, you are, uh,
- 21:18Dave Hamilton: You're, you are choosing to let your competition do it regardless you can join them or not.
- 21:25Shannon Jean: Yeah. And it's the thing about it is you're not asking it to like,
- 21:30Shannon Jean: Hey, I want you to write this thing and automate this for me.
- 21:32Shannon Jean: So I don't have to do any of this stuff. No, I want to write these things because it's my voice.
- 21:37Dave Hamilton: Yes.
- 21:37Shannon Jean: But you're just asking, you're asking infrastructure and, and layout and,
- 21:46Shannon Jean: you know, logistical questions about how this works and what's going on.
- 21:50Shannon Jean: And, you know, it's night and day. I could just see it right in front of me.
- 21:54Shannon Jean: The numbers are, and I think of Claude as my, you know, one of my employees.
- 21:59Shannon Jean: And I took a snapshot of the stats and I uploaded this morning.
- 22:02Shannon Jean: I'm just like, right on, dude, check this out.
- 22:04Shannon Jean: Look at these numbers. And it came back and then it pointed out a couple of
- 22:07Shannon Jean: things. It was like, let's not get ahead of ourselves yet. Don't think that
- 22:10Shannon Jean: this is this and that, We still have to work on this. Your unsubscribes,
- 22:14Shannon Jean: it went up a little bit. You got to work on it. So it's great. I love it.
- 22:16Dave Hamilton: Yes. Yeah. Yeah. It doesn't get caught up in its own emotions. Yeah.
- 22:21Shannon Jean: You got to get away from that sycophant relationship with Claude or whoever
- 22:25Shannon Jean: you're using. You just got to tell it. I don't want to yes AI. No.
- 22:28Shannon Jean: I don't want to hear that. I want you to point me. I don't want,
- 22:30Shannon Jean: you know, tell me why I'm wrong.
- 22:32Dave Hamilton: Tell me what doesn't work. And it will. It happily will. I feel like that's
- 22:36Dave Hamilton: one spot where all of the LLMs have gotten better.
- 22:38Dave Hamilton: They've gotten better, right? In the last year. Yeah, I don't get so much of
- 22:42Dave Hamilton: the yes man thing out of it, even though I don't tell it that anymore.
- 22:45Dave Hamilton: Yeah, I think they've realized these need to be tools.
- 22:48Dave Hamilton: But use them to challenge your gut feelings. You'll have a gut feeling about
- 22:52Dave Hamilton: something, and your gut feeling is valid.
- 22:55Dave Hamilton: Challenge it. Feed it all the data. Have it tell you what you should do. And then...
- 23:01Dave Hamilton: You can have a conversation with it. Well, my gut says to do this and it'll
- 23:05Dave Hamilton: like, it'll talk to you about it.
- 23:06Dave Hamilton: I mean, at some point it will sort of fall apart, but now you've got the results
- 23:12Dave Hamilton: of the LLM looking at your data and you've got your gut feeling and then you
- 23:16Dave Hamilton: can make a judgment call, go with it, not whatever. It's all good. Yeah.
- 23:20Shannon Jean: So it's great.
- 23:21Dave Hamilton: All right, Shannon. We, I have a, we have a question to ask of ourselves and
- 23:26Dave Hamilton: that is what is this episode's big takeaway?
- 23:31Shannon Jean: Uh i think the big takeaway is is what we talked about don't let the ai be another
- 23:39Shannon Jean: barrier that keeps you from getting.
- 23:42Dave Hamilton: Stuff done yeah don't be productive
- 23:44Shannon Jean: Yeah don't be fud up productive i think that's great and,
- 23:49Shannon Jean: um it's easy to just one more thing you know we did a whole episode i call it
- 23:53Shannon Jean: beware the once's right oh once i get this done i can do this once i do these
- 23:59Shannon Jean: those are just barriers you know uh so you just got to be careful and watch it's a fine line.
- 24:04Dave Hamilton: I i agree with this for this one and and here's here's our takeaway right here's
- 24:09Dave Hamilton: here's your call to action
- 24:10Dave Hamilton: we've got this big takeaway we are now going to build the business plan we call
- 24:15Dave Hamilton: it our business blueprints but is the business plan of this uh
