Latest / SEC Football Addiction / UF vs Missouri: Gators & Tigers have DANGEROUS Game & Experts Reveal Why!

- 0:00Speaker 1: First up, listen, even as a rival, I believe in
- 0:04Speaker 1: giving credit where credit's due. I'm leading this thing off
- 0:06Speaker 1: with the Florida Gators. I think Texas is the number
- 0:09Speaker 1: one team in the country right now based on resume.
- 0:11Speaker 1: There's not a team in this country that has a
- 0:13Speaker 1: more impressive resume outside of Texas than the Florida Gators.
- 0:16Speaker 1: So that's where we're starting. Even as the Florida hater,
- 0:20Speaker 1: I've been very impressed through four games with them. So
- 0:22Speaker 1: that's where we're starting. Presented by PrizePix2. Not to freak
- 0:26Speaker 1: them out, but they know this. They've lost three of
- 0:28Speaker 1: the last four on the road at Missouri. John Summerill
- 0:31Speaker 1: has come out and talked about this. I don't really
- 0:33Speaker 1: buy so much into the fact, like a lot of
- 0:35Speaker 1: these players were not even on the team the last
- 0:37Speaker 1: time they went and lost there. Some were, no doubt.
- 0:40Speaker 1: But these are new rosters. These are new teams. Some
- 0:44Speaker 1: of those streaks are kind of unlucky because they go
- 0:46Speaker 1: across several years. Florida's lost three of the last four
- 0:49Speaker 1: at Missouri because they haven't been a good team through
- 0:51Speaker 1: those last four years. That's the problem. They are a
- 0:54Speaker 1: good team now. However, I'm very intrigued to see if
- 0:57Speaker 1: Florida can avoid reading their own press clippings, all the
- 1:00Speaker 1: rat poison that Saban and Lane and everybody else talks about.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Can they avoid that? Because if they do, I think
- 1:07Speaker 1: they're the better team. Austin Simmons presents an interesting challenge,
- 1:10Speaker 1: but Cole, it's the SEC. Again, it's presented by PrizePix,
- 1:13Speaker 1: and we'll let you get us started.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yeah, you can never sleep on a matchup when you
- 1:16Speaker 2: have to play on the road following an emotional win.
- 1:19Speaker 2: And if you want to go ahead and take a
- 1:20Speaker 2: page out of the book, go look at what Ole
- 1:21Speaker 2: Miss did last week. An emotional win at home and
- 1:25Speaker 2: then an emotional loss on the road for an opportunity
- 1:28Speaker 2: with a team like Florida that has not only a pulse.
- 1:31Speaker 2: But honestly, it's been probably the most impressive offense with
- 1:33Speaker 2: Buster Faulkner leading the charge, being able to just show
- 1:36Speaker 2: everyone that they're legit. But now you've got to go
- 1:38Speaker 2: on the road to a place where, number one, it's
- 1:40Speaker 2: homecoming that weekend. Number two, Missouri invented homecoming. They'll let
- 1:43Speaker 2: you know that every opportunity that they get. And number three,
- 1:47Speaker 2: this is an offense that still, even in a loss
- 1:49Speaker 2: against Mississippi State, showed a lot of promise, at least
- 1:52Speaker 2: at the most important position, that could become a fault
- 1:55Speaker 2: for a team like Florida. So... Let's go ahead and
- 1:58Speaker 2: talk about it. What is the key asset for Florida
- 2:00Speaker 2: to win this football game? Number one, you gotta be
- 2:02Speaker 2: able to run the football, and you gotta be able
- 2:04Speaker 2: to do it with both Duke Clark and Jaden Bobb.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I understand that it's a lot easier said than done,
- 2:08Speaker 2: but let's be real. Until somebody gives you a reason
- 2:11Speaker 2: to doubt what 13 is doing and what Clark can
- 2:14Speaker 2: do as a number two... You continue to run those
- 2:16Speaker 2: plays into the ground and let them get yards after contact.
- 2:20Speaker 2: That is just something that I think is going to
- 2:21Speaker 2: be a preliminary. I don't think enough people are talking
- 2:24Speaker 2: about when it comes to like Jeremiah Smith and Kamario Taylor.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Jaden Baugh has done the most when it comes to,
- 2:29Speaker 2: I think, bolstering his Heisman stock. He has 11 rushing touchdowns.
- 2:33Speaker 2: to begin the college football season in the month of September.
- 2:36Speaker 2: He could finish with 28 to 30 touchdowns if he
- 2:39Speaker 2: continues on this path. You gotta run it. You gotta
- 2:42Speaker 2: be able to trust that you can put the offense
- 2:45Speaker 2: in short field positions to be able to attack this
- 2:48Speaker 2: Mizzou defense that has been known for giving up explosives.
- 2:51Speaker 2: both in the pass and in the run. Now, number two,
- 2:54Speaker 2: I think this is one of those games where you
- 2:55Speaker 2: want to be able to see one of the wide
- 2:57Speaker 2: receivers step on up and be that difference maker. And
- 2:59Speaker 2: it may not be Verno Brown or Dallas Wilson or
- 3:02Speaker 2: Eric Singleton. It could be Micah Mays. It could be...
- 3:05Speaker 2: Why am I blanking on his name, TJ? Number three.
- 3:10Speaker 2: You're muted, I think.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I got the Tom syndrome over here.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Is it Bailey?
- 3:16Speaker 1: Let's talk to.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Bailey Stockton, that was it. One of them can step
- 3:20Speaker 2: on up and be that enforcer that allows you to
- 3:22Speaker 2: be able to win with explosives downfield. We saw last
- 3:25Speaker 2: week that there wasn't one X-factor receiver. Eric Singleton led
- 3:29Speaker 2: the team with one catch for 34 yards, but seven
- 3:33Speaker 2: receivers caught balls and made plays in space. So can
- 3:36Speaker 2: you win with the ability to extend plays down the field?
- 3:39Speaker 2: The major element that I'm looking at defensively, though, in
- 3:41Speaker 2: this game... Can you stop Austin Simmons? Austin Simmons is
- 3:44Speaker 2: a good quarterback. Like he plays for Missouri and probably
- 3:47Speaker 2: because Missouri gets the short end of the stick in
- 3:49Speaker 2: every turn in college football, we don't talk about him enough.
- 3:52Speaker 2: But he's probably been one of the most improved quarterbacks
- 3:55Speaker 2: in college football with 11 touchdowns, zero turnovers. And he's
- 3:57Speaker 2: done a really, really, really nice job of finding a
- 4:00Speaker 2: rapport with Donovan O and Caden Lee. They're both explosive receivers.
- 4:04Speaker 2: And the one area that I still have questions for
- 4:06Speaker 2: when it comes to Florida's defense is that secondary allowing
- 4:10Speaker 2: explosives downfield. So are you able to force Austin Simmons
- 4:16Speaker 2: into pressures to where he is going to be throwing
- 4:19Speaker 2: off his front foot, missing open targets, and it can
- 4:21Speaker 2: lead to turnovers? For Missouri, I say if you're going
- 4:24Speaker 2: to go ahead and win this football game, do it
- 4:26Speaker 2: on the shoulder of Aaron Filo. If you're going to
- 4:29Speaker 2: lose this football game, lose because Aaron Filo just shows
- 4:32Speaker 2: up and he balls on out. Take away the run.
- 4:34Speaker 2: And that's a lot easier said than done because nobody's
- 4:36Speaker 2: been able to stop the combination of Clark and Baugh.
- 4:39Speaker 2: And for good reason. They're damn good running backs. That
- 4:41Speaker 2: offensive line has been phenomenal. But they got Hopkins coming
- 4:44Speaker 2: off the edge. That guy has six sacks on the year.
- 4:46Speaker 2: This will probably be the best defensive end this season ever.
- 4:51Speaker 2: maybe besides Cam Franklin, even still you can maybe say
- 4:53Speaker 2: that how it's looked so far, that Florida's offensive line
- 4:55Speaker 2: has seen. Can you take away the rushing attack? And
- 4:58Speaker 2: even if you are bailing on out, Corey Batun making
- 5:01Speaker 2: this offense one-dimensional could allow you to figure out either A,
- 5:04Speaker 2: a little bit more about your secondary, or B, really
- 5:08Speaker 2: kind of prove where Aaron Filo is as a quarterback. So,
- 5:11Speaker 2: I mean, like that to me I think is a
- 5:12Speaker 2: massive win. in Missouri side, if Aaron Filo is the
- 5:16Speaker 2: one that has to beat you, because even though he's
- 5:18Speaker 2: been good, he's been good in structure. What happens when
- 5:20Speaker 2: you're saying, hey, this is the moment that you need
- 5:23Speaker 2: to take on over the game. Third down coverage is
- 5:25Speaker 2: going to be really important. Time of possession, I think
- 5:27Speaker 2: will be an underlying stat. Explosive plays to the wide
- 5:30Speaker 2: receivers is really dire. But the main thing that I'm
- 5:33Speaker 2: looking for in this game is what are we going
- 5:35Speaker 2: to see in the fourth quarter from the play designs
- 5:36Speaker 2: of Eli Drinkowitz, Chip Lindsey, and then the flip side
- 5:40Speaker 2: Buster Faulkner.
- 5:42Speaker 1: I'll get right back to this clip from the Power
- 5:44Speaker 1: 2 on college football addiction. But first, I want to
- 5:46Speaker 1: tell you, we picked everything that you see right now.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I'll tell you, we all took the more on Jaden
- 5:51Speaker 1: Ball's touchdowns. We all took the more on Jeremiah Smith's touchdowns.
- 5:54Speaker 1: We all took the more on Jeremiah Smith and Jaden
- 5:56Speaker 1: Ball's rushing slash receiving totals that they have there. We
- 5:59Speaker 1: took the more on Malachi Toney. I took the less
- 6:03Speaker 1: on Ryan Coleman Williams. So go check out the show.
- 6:06Speaker 1: You can hear what our live predictions were. You can
- 6:08Speaker 1: hear our thought process behind all of them. and then
- 6:11Speaker 1: go get on the PrizePix app. Use our code HMA,
- 6:14Speaker 1: play $ 5, get $ 150 in lineups instantly when you win
- 6:18Speaker 1: if you place a $ 5 lineup and win using that
- 6:21Speaker 1: code HMA only. Make sure that you are on the
- 6:23Speaker 1: PrizePix app. All right, now back to the clip. Tom,
- 6:27Speaker 1: thoughts on this one?
- 6:28Speaker 3: I like Florida coming out of Bloody Tuesday. I think
- 6:31Speaker 3: John Summerall and company are fired up going into this.
- 6:34Speaker 3: I feel very confident in a Florida team that runs
- 6:37Speaker 3: the ball, plays with a lot of physicality and aggression
- 6:39Speaker 3: on the road against a team that is susceptible defensively.
- 6:43Speaker 3: I agree with Cole. I think Austin Simmons is going
- 6:45Speaker 3: to present a very interesting challenge for Florida because their
- 6:49Speaker 3: secondary is good, not great. They are susceptible, so I
- 6:53Speaker 3: do think Austin Simmons is going to be able to
- 6:55Speaker 3: connect on a handful of things. This is a game
- 6:57Speaker 3: where Mizzou would kill to have a mod Hardy would
- 7:01Speaker 3: love to have him out there. So this is something
- 7:03Speaker 3: where it makes them a little one dimensional because I
- 7:06Speaker 3: think Florida will just do whatever they possibly can to
- 7:09Speaker 3: limit Austin Simmons. And this one, we've talked about it
- 7:11Speaker 3: before with a number of different players throughout the sport
- 7:13Speaker 3: is that he's going to get his, he's got some
- 7:15Speaker 3: talented wide receivers and, Can Florida get pressure on him?
- 7:18Speaker 3: Can they have him make some mistakes that are going
- 7:20Speaker 3: to shorten drives or result in turnovers? I'm very curious
- 7:23Speaker 3: to see that. And if Mizzou does enough, to Cole's point,
- 7:27Speaker 3: to limit Florida running the football, then how does Philo respond?
- 7:31Speaker 3: And so far, he's done everything that they've asked him
- 7:34Speaker 3: to do, but he's not been put in a situation
- 7:36Speaker 3: where he has to put the team on his back.
- 7:39Speaker 3: I don't think that situation happens in Como. I don't
- 7:42Speaker 3: think that's going to happen this weekend. I like Florida
- 7:45Speaker 3: to cover, and I like the over on points. I'm
- 7:47Speaker 3: taking the Gators 34-24.
- 7:50Speaker 2: I will say real fast, the thing that I'm waiting
- 7:52Speaker 2: for is that moment that was very similar to Gunnar
- 7:54Speaker 2: Stockton last year in the Tennessee game, where it's like
- 7:57Speaker 2: you knew he was a good quarterback, but what if
- 8:00Speaker 2: we ask you to win us one? Can Philo do that?
- 8:03Speaker 2: I don't know if this is the game, but there
- 8:04Speaker 2: will come a game this year that the rushing attack
- 8:07Speaker 2: is limited. Maybe it is in Como. If this is
- 8:09Speaker 2: the one, I think what we're going to see is
- 8:11Speaker 2: a Philo actually stepping on up. Because as much as
- 8:13Speaker 2: we can give praise to what we have seen from
- 8:16Speaker 2: Austin Simmons, Philo has done his job. I think that
- 8:19Speaker 2: we've also seen Austin Simmons deliver in clutch situations in
- 8:22Speaker 2: a way that Philo hasn't yet. So maybe this is
- 8:24Speaker 2: the one, but I do agree with Tom on one thing.
- 8:27Speaker 2: If this is the game that you're banking on it
- 8:29Speaker 2: to happen, I wouldn't. But I would bank on the overhitting.
- 8:32Speaker 1: The biggest question I have, and my answer, if I
- 8:35Speaker 1: answered my own question, would be no. Can Missouri slow
- 8:39Speaker 1: down this running game? Can they make Philo get to
- 8:41Speaker 1: a point where he's got to go out and win
- 8:43Speaker 1: the game? Because I agree, Florida's checked a lot of boxes.
- 8:47Speaker 1: They checked the boxes of handling bad teams the way
- 8:49Speaker 1: you're supposed to. They checked the box of really, I
- 8:52Speaker 1: don't want to say dominating, but close to dominating an
- 8:55Speaker 1: SEC opponent on the road. I know Auburn scored a
- 8:57Speaker 1: couple times late there to make it close, and things
- 8:59Speaker 1: Florida has to clean up, certainly on defense still. But
- 9:02Speaker 1: check that box. Okay, now can you handle some success?
- 9:04Speaker 1: We ranked you. And we made you a home favorite.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Handled that against the top four team in a resounding way.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Is there a more impressive win in the country than
- 9:12Speaker 1: what Florida did to Ole Miss last week?
- 9:15Speaker 2: Maybe Texas because it is Ohio State, but the way
- 9:18Speaker 2: it looked.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe that, but they also looked clunky and they looked,
- 9:24Speaker 1: you know, turnovers and stuff. I'd probably say Florida has
- 9:27Speaker 1: the single best... Single most impressive win. If you want
- 9:32Speaker 1: to say best, because it was number one, I'll buy that.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Start getting that monkey off his back. So the next
- 9:40Speaker 1: question to me is, yeah, can Philo go win it?
- 9:42Speaker 1: Because I don't know if we get that answer this weekend,
- 9:44Speaker 1: but they've got to go to DKR in a few weeks.
- 9:46Speaker 1: They've got to go to Atlanta after that, after a
- 9:48Speaker 1: bye week, to play Georgia is where that game is
- 9:50Speaker 1: this year. Those will be questions that I have down
- 9:54Speaker 1: the road. Again, I don't know that Missouri, and credit
- 9:57Speaker 1: to them if they can, I don't know that Missouri
- 9:59Speaker 1: is the team that's built to limit this Florida rushing.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I mean, they had 300 yards last week. You want
- 10:05Speaker 1: to know why Singleton led with one catch?
- 10:09Speaker 2: Because they didn't have to throw the ball.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Every time I thought, okay, here's where Ole Miss might
- 10:15Speaker 1: come back, It was like, oh, there's another 13-yard run
- 10:18Speaker 1: by number 13. Or Duke Clark goes for a 20-yard run.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Clark was unreal. They didn't have to run it. Again,
- 10:29Speaker 1: I answered my own question, but I don't know that
- 10:33Speaker 1: many teams are built to slow down this rushing attack,
- 10:35Speaker 1: and I certainly don't know that Missouri would be the
- 10:37Speaker 1: one If you're Missouri, are you hoping for a shootout,
- 10:39Speaker 1: which is scary as hell against Buster Faulkner?
- 10:41Speaker 3: But I think that's the thing is that Florida has
- 10:43Speaker 3: given up points this year. So you will see Austin
- 10:45Speaker 3: Simmons and company connect. And they'll be able to move
- 10:47Speaker 3: the football through the air a little bit. But can
- 10:49Speaker 3: you bend but not break? I think Florida is still
- 10:52Speaker 3: going to give up some points because evidence has shown
- 10:54Speaker 3: that they will give up some points. It's just a
- 10:56Speaker 3: matter of giving up the back-breaking points, the back-breaking score
- 10:59Speaker 3: late in the game. Can you finish? And so far,
- 11:02Speaker 3: this Florida team can finish.
- 11:03Speaker 2: What's funny is that you guys are saying you want
- 11:05Speaker 2: to see Philo take on over a game to kind
- 11:07Speaker 2: of get that next chapter or that next box check.
- 11:11Speaker 2: I don't think that you ever have to have Philo
- 11:12Speaker 2: do that. I think it's secondary. giving up way too
- 11:17Speaker 2: many explosives is a bigger question that I have because
- 11:19Speaker 2: let's just say, humor me, you go on a run
- 11:21Speaker 2: and you are 11-1 and you make it to the
- 11:23Speaker 2: college football playoff and your reward for this epic season
- 11:27Speaker 2: is Ohio State with Jeremiah Smith. Can you shut down
- 11:29Speaker 2: wide receivers? That to me is what I'm looking for
- 11:32Speaker 2: in a game like this.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Yeah, and if you kind of think about how it
- 11:35Speaker 1: might line up, if Ohio State wins the Big Ten,
- 11:39Speaker 1: which they certainly seem like the favorite to do that now,
- 11:42Speaker 1: Florida might get that five seed.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Yep. right?
- 11:46Speaker 1: Which would put them up against Ohio State at some point. Now,
- 11:50Speaker 1: that'd be the semifinal, right? Or, yeah, if they beat
- 11:53Speaker 1: the four.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Yeah, semifinal.
- 11:54Speaker 1: That'd be the semifinal.
- 11:55Speaker 2: What if they're the eighth seed and they win that
- 11:56Speaker 2: first round against the ninth seed and then they play
- 11:58Speaker 2: the number one seed, Ohio State? Same thing?
- 12:01Speaker 1: So, it's a tough road when you get to the playoff. But,
- 12:04Speaker 1: I'll tell you, their offense would be fun to watch
- 12:05Speaker 1: up against anybody. I mean, what we need, and we'll
- 12:07Speaker 1: move on from this. Cole will get a prediction and
- 12:09Speaker 1: I'll do one too. What we need is a Miami-Florida
- 12:11Speaker 1: playoff game since they won't play each other. Florida won't
- 12:14Speaker 1: play them in the regular season. Like, I need that.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Florida wins 34-24.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Have you guys ever seen the movie, or have you
- 12:22Speaker 2: guys ever read the book Harry Potter and the Goblet
- 12:23Speaker 2: of Fire?
- 12:24Speaker 3: I've seen the movie.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I've read that one, yeah.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Okay, do you know in the book how they talk
- 12:28Speaker 2: about the Corinthians World Cup? Ireland wins, but Crum catches
- 12:31Speaker 2: the snitch?
- 12:33Speaker 3: Yes.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Okay, I think that Austin Simmons will be the more
- 12:36Speaker 2: impressive quarterback in this game. I think that we will
- 12:37Speaker 2: come away more positively looking at what Mizzou's offense can be.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Florida still wins by at least a touchdown. I'm going
- 12:45Speaker 2: to go 38-31.
