- 0:49Speaker 3: we'll get to later on.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Yeah, great story about You can take a tour of
- 0:55Speaker 1: the Star in Frisco for as little as forty bucks,
- 0:58Speaker 1: as much as ninety bucks. We'll get to that a
- 1:01Speaker 1: little bit later on. You can go through there. Well,
- 1:05Speaker 1: they're trying to work and get ready. Yeah, it seems
- 1:08Speaker 1: seems great. It seems like a great way to stay
- 1:10Speaker 1: focused on winning a title.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Uh. In the story, someone from Albamarle, North Carolina is there?
- 1:18Speaker 1: Yeah, go, I think that's what is that? Stanley County
- 1:22Speaker 1: remember that down there? Yeah, Albumarle the home of the
- 1:26Speaker 1: immortal North Carolina played by playboys Wooty Durham and his
- 1:30Speaker 1: son Wes Albemarle. That's where he was from. So anyway,
- 1:36Speaker 1: there's there's several things to get.
- 1:38Speaker 2: To on the program this afternoon.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Among those, we're gonna hear from Long Worrn's head coach
- 1:41Speaker 1: Steve Sarkisian from the SEC teleconference, so we'll have that.
- 1:47Speaker 1: We'll have the comments of sark from that SEC teleconference.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Also some more conversations with Long Worn players with our
- 1:54Speaker 1: Will Matthews, our Longhorn Radio Network from Learfield sideline reporter
- 1:59Speaker 1: and Will himself a lifetime Longhorn. Speaking of lifetime Longhorns, Tonight,
- 2:08Speaker 1: we have Longhorn Weekly coming your way at six o'clock
- 2:13Speaker 1: for the taping of the show with Long Worton's head
- 2:17Speaker 1: coach Steve Sarkisian from Pluckers the West Campus location that's
- 2:21Speaker 1: at twenty two to twenty two Rio Grand and we
- 2:24Speaker 1: have Derek Dochry as our special guest, lifetime Longhorn member
- 2:28Speaker 1: of Matt Brown's first recruiting class. He'll be our special
- 2:31Speaker 1: guest during the program tonight. So we'll look forward to
- 2:33Speaker 1: bringing that to you. And I should point out to
- 2:36Speaker 1: you that this is the first of back to back
- 2:40Speaker 1: nights of Longhorn Weekly because we will have a special
- 2:45Speaker 1: basketball preview show tomorrow night with Loghorn's head coach, Rodney Terry,
- 2:52Speaker 1: and we'll get a little.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Preview of the season.
- 2:55Speaker 1: The Longhorns have had a close scrimmage against TCU and
- 2:59Speaker 1: d They've got an another close scrimmage this Sunday, it's Colorado,
- 3:02Speaker 1: and they're drawing closer and closer to the start of
- 3:04Speaker 1: the regular season, which is a week from Monday, so
- 3:09Speaker 1: it's twelve days away. A week from Monday, the long
- 3:13Speaker 1: Worne will open the season in Las Vegas and the
- 3:16Speaker 1: Hall of Fame Classic against the Ohio State University. So
- 3:20Speaker 1: it'll be Texas and Ohio State in that one. So
- 3:22Speaker 1: we look forward to bringing you that game a week
- 3:25Speaker 1: from Monday. However, as we point out, there'll be a
- 3:29Speaker 1: special preview show tomorrow night, and then we'll have another
- 3:32Speaker 1: one a week from tomorrow night as well, So a
- 3:35Speaker 1: couple of preview shows before things really get rolling on that. Okay,
- 3:40Speaker 1: it was Opening Night in the NBA last night. How
- 3:42Speaker 1: much Opening Night NBA action did you watch?
- 3:45Speaker 4: I consume a lot all of it?
- 3:47Speaker 1: Did you really last night you watched Celtics just dismantle
- 3:51Speaker 1: the Knicks?
- 3:51Speaker 4: Mm hmmm.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Celtics look like a team that has had the same
- 3:55Speaker 3: core for the last I don't know, five six, seven years,
- 3:58Speaker 3: just want a championship together. And the next looked like
- 4:02Speaker 3: a team that made a couple of big maneuvers this season,
- 4:06Speaker 3: lost some key players, added some other key players and
- 4:09Speaker 3: are still figuring out how they all gell together.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, and then the second game Lakers and Timberwolves.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I got a chance to see a good chunk of
- 4:19Speaker 1: that one. I had MC duties last night for the
- 4:22Speaker 1: Texas Women's basketball welcome back dinner, which was a lot
- 4:26Speaker 1: of fun. You haven't lived until you've seen Texas women
- 4:31Speaker 1: basketball players do impersonations. Oh man, I wish they could
- 4:36Speaker 1: have been there was that was fun. He got up
- 4:38Speaker 1: and he shook his head. He goas, I have not
- 4:40Speaker 1: been a good role model. So it was a lot
- 4:44Speaker 1: of fun. A great crowd last night too for that one.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Close to five hundred people last night just for that
- 4:50Speaker 1: one dinner and getting ready. Their season starts November ten. Now,
- 4:55Speaker 1: they do have an Orange White game tomorrow night at
- 4:58Speaker 1: Moody Center.
- 4:58Speaker 2: It's free if you want to go out and watch that.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And then they have an exhibition game against you t
- 5:02Speaker 1: Tyler that will be a week from tomorrow night, So
- 5:07Speaker 1: they've got a couple of opportunities for you there before.
- 5:10Speaker 1: They opened the season on November tenth at home against
- 5:13Speaker 1: Southeast Missouri State. But I got home to watch some
- 5:16Speaker 1: of Lakers and Timberwolves. A good amount of it I missed,
- 5:23Speaker 1: apparently the grand entrance because by the time I got back,
- 5:26Speaker 1: it was well.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Into the second quarter.
- 5:28Speaker 1: So the moment when lebron James and Bronnie entered the
- 5:33Speaker 1: game together with like what it was it four minutes
- 5:36Speaker 1: remaining in the half or something like that, It had
- 5:38Speaker 1: just happened when I walked in through the front door.
- 5:41Speaker 1: So I missed out on that supposed to very historic
- 5:44Speaker 1: moment because it was first time in NBA history of
- 5:46Speaker 1: father and son had played together on the floor at
- 5:51Speaker 1: the same time for the same team. Yeah, I have
- 5:54Speaker 1: no comments. Craig, what do you mean you have no comments?
- 5:56Speaker 1: You watched the game. That's why I'm canvassing you here.
- 6:00Speaker 1: I'm I'm trying to I'm trying to get some feedback.
- 6:04Speaker 3: From beyond all of this on Brinny going over to
- 6:07Speaker 3: and being a minus five on the court and only
- 6:10Speaker 3: being on the court because of his dad. Yeah, okay,
- 6:13Speaker 3: I'm sure it's, you know, cool moment for lebron to
- 6:16Speaker 3: experience at age forty. But let's not compare him to
- 6:20Speaker 3: Ken Griffy Senior and Ken Griffy Junior, because those are
- 6:22Speaker 3: two of the best, including junior, and.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I remember that moment that was that was pretty fair
- 6:27Speaker 1: when they played for the Brownie.
- 6:28Speaker 4: But yeah, there's nothing to add there. We can we
- 6:32Speaker 4: can skip that.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Bronnie did say afterwards, he says, you know that stuff
- 6:37Speaker 1: is nice, and I try to block out all that
- 6:39Speaker 1: kind of stuff, and he said, just deal with being
- 6:42Speaker 1: a rookie. So have you have you seen the what
- 6:46Speaker 1: was it the skit? The commercial thing where lebron fills
- 6:50Speaker 1: up Bronny's car with cereal? Yeah, very cringe very opens
- 6:54Speaker 1: the door and cereal comes poring out.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Hey, rookie, don't be late. Yeah, that kind of do.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Now.
- 7:00Speaker 3: The real impact from a rookie on the floor last
- 7:03Speaker 3: night was Dulton Connect who had some good moments him
- 7:06Speaker 3: and Austin Reeves, you know, making us white boys look
- 7:09Speaker 3: good out there so they can shoot.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Enjoy that.
- 7:11Speaker 3: And Jackson Hayes had like I don't know, I think
- 7:13Speaker 3: he scored ten points in all.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Ten came on alley oops.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Where Rudy Gobert and the defensive player of the year
- 7:20Speaker 3: I think twice now, just not understanding that Jackson Hayes
- 7:24Speaker 3: literally is out there just to be a lob threat.
- 7:26Speaker 4: So interesting night for the t Wolves.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Yeah, there'll be more NBA tonight on Night number two,
- 7:34Speaker 1: including the Houston Rockets in action. I know Cam is
- 7:37Speaker 1: excited about that because it's the Rockets against the Charlotte
- 7:39Speaker 1: Hornets tonight.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Hey, I like the Rockets roster.
- 7:42Speaker 3: If you're a Houston fan, I think you feel really
- 7:44Speaker 3: good about this Rockets team. They just locked up Green
- 7:47Speaker 3: and seng Gooon. I think se Gooon is really underrated,
- 7:50Speaker 3: got big payday, but Rockets should be I think.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Fun to watch this season.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Okay, I'm in and Charlotte, you know, we'll see about
- 7:58Speaker 3: the Hornets. They're still in a long rebuilding process. They've
- 8:01Speaker 3: been rebuilding for about twenty years.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Yeah, it's been a while, you know, they've been going
- 8:04Speaker 2: for a while.
- 8:05Speaker 1: All right, Coming up, we're going to hear from Long
- 8:07Speaker 1: Horns head coach Steve Sarkisian from the SEC teleconference. We'll
- 8:12Speaker 1: hear some thoughts from him. Also, we should point out
- 8:16Speaker 1: obviously well we'll have Inconceivable later on this hour and
- 8:23Speaker 1: later in the program. In the four o'clock hour, we're
- 8:25Speaker 1: going to visit with Andrew Alligreta, who is the play
- 8:27Speaker 1: by play voice of the Vanderbilt Commodorees. We always visit
- 8:30Speaker 1: with the opposing team play by play voice during the
- 8:34Speaker 1: game week leading up to the game. And it's Texas
- 8:36Speaker 1: and Vanderbilt Saturday afternoon kickoff right around three twenty, and
- 8:42Speaker 1: we'll have our coverage beginning at noon with the Longhorns
- 8:47Speaker 1: game day programming from the hook them hangout at Bevo
- 8:51Speaker 1: Boulevard over at the wind Ship Circle. That's at noon
- 8:54Speaker 1: with Cameron Parker and my Cardball Horge and Mark Henry
- 8:57Speaker 1: that's at noon, and then at two o'clock the network
- 8:59Speaker 1: pre game kick off like right around three twenty I
- 9:02Speaker 1: think for Texas and Vanderbilt from Nashville. More on that
- 9:07Speaker 1: coming up, as we'll hear from head coach Steve Sarkesian
- 9:09Speaker 1: when we continue on this Wednesday and Sports Radio AM
- 9:12Speaker 1: thirteen under the zone of the iHeartRadio app
