- 0:07We just praise God that were able to have a conference this
- 0:10year with the craziness that's going on in the world.
- 0:13And as much as there are different, political opinions
- 0:17about what's happening in America and across the nation's.
- 0:20One thing is, for certain, we are experiencing a dress
- 0:23rehearsal for the end times. You better believe it, and Jesus
- 0:29said something to the religious leaders of his day.
- 0:31He said, you know, you can tell when this summer is coming.
- 0:35When you study the the Fig Tree, you see the leaves budding and,
- 0:40you know, that the time is near. He's like, but you couldn't, you
- 0:44couldn't tell you couldn't see the signs for the coming of the
- 0:47Messiah, with all the prophecies and all the specific,
- 0:52articulations concerning my arrival, to this earth, you
- 0:55couldn't see it. And I believe in the same way
- 0:59this generation is not interpreting the signs
- 1:02correctly. And if they miss the first
- 1:05coming don't you think that it's possible for believers to miss
- 1:09the second? I think it's possible and that's
- 1:12why we must be grounded in the word of God.
- 1:15The grass withers, the flower Fades, but the word of our God
- 1:18will stand forever. If you have your Bibles, please
- 1:21turn with me to the book of Song of Solomon Chapter 5.
- 1:26Again, we're so blessed that you're here.
- 1:28We're so thankful for every single person that contributed
- 1:31to making this conference happen if you notice there's new chairs
- 1:34this year because we want you to feel a little bit uncomfortable
- 1:38and feel, what the persecuted Church gets to feel all the time
- 1:42but then that concern because they're just caught up in the
- 1:44glory of God. No, I'm just kidding.
- 1:47That's not the reason why, but we're appreciative of your
- 1:50understanding The book of Song of Solomon, who here has read
- 1:55it. It's an interesting book because
- 2:00it is unlike really any other book in the scriptures.
- 2:03The reason being is that the content doesn't present itself
- 2:06as Redemptive history. You don't see a storyline of
- 2:09events taking place at describe God's working in the world that
- 2:11lead up to the coming of Jesus Christ.
- 2:14It's also not a book about prophecies, whether a judgment
- 2:19or the coming of the Messiah or the second coming of the
- 2:21Messiah. And it's not a book like we see
- 2:24in the Epistles and even the gospels where we get direct
- 2:26teaching and commands. But our faith and practice.
- 2:30The book of Song of Solomon is a romantic dialogue between a man
- 2:34and a woman who are pursuing marriage pursuing that Covenant
- 2:38with one another and you and I get a glimpse into their passion
- 2:43for one another. And this book, many don't read
- 2:48it for different reasons. And one of the reasons it makes
- 2:50them blush really and teacher shy away from teaching from it,
- 2:54because it doesn't seem to offer much except that one facet of
- 2:57your life, where you are pursuing a woman or, or being
- 3:01pursued by a man to come into that relationship of marriage.
- 3:05And if you read it carefully, you understand?
- 3:07At least one thing God, cherishes, this gift called
- 3:11marriage and he actually wants it to be enjoyable.
- 3:14I know that's a hard thing to understand.
- 3:17Especially for those who are in marriage.
- 3:19They kind of lose that wine as as it happened in the wedding of
- 3:24Cana. They lose that joy and that
- 3:27celebration and this book. Contradicts, all of that, this
- 3:30book shows us that you can actually no true desire for
- 3:34someone else. And you can cherish one another
- 3:36and you understand that God has provided that person as a gift
- 3:39to you. But is that it is this book just
- 3:44all about giving you some language.
- 3:47Men, if you're not good at communicating your emotions,
- 3:50this book will help you, but is that it?
- 3:54No, it's not it. I am of those who believe that
- 3:57you can find Christ in every book of the Bible.
- 4:01Because we are told in the last chapter of the Gospel of Luke,
- 4:05when Jesus had a personal Bible study with two people on a
- 4:09seven-mile journey to Emmaus, that beginning with Moses and
- 4:13the prophets, he began to interpret all the scriptures
- 4:18concerning himself, beginning with Moses and the prophets, he
- 4:23began to draw out of not some of the scriptures, all of the
- 4:27scriptures. Concerning himself.
- 4:31Can you find Jesus in The Book of Song of Solomon?
- 4:34You sure can with wisdom, you sure can with a balanced, you
- 4:37sure can. Here's a, here's a simple
- 4:40illustration to help us understand that this is not such
- 4:42a difficult idea to grasp did not the Holy Spirit, inspired
- 4:46the Apostle Paul to describe the relationship with Christ and the
- 4:50church through the imagery of what a passionate bridegroom
- 4:54pursuing and cherishing a bride. And so in some sense, you can
- 4:58come to this book and you can see some not all because some
- 5:01people get wild and crazy with interpretation, right?
- 5:04But you can see some Shadow and some kind of indication of how
- 5:08we can relate what we see in this book to our relationship
- 5:11with the Lord, Jesus Christ. And the principle of all of that
- 5:15is this you and I have something called, We Tell it to people all
- 5:18the time. Don't we a personal relationship
- 5:21with God? Personal not corporate, not a
- 5:25relationship through your pastor who spoon feeds you sermons
- 5:28know, a personal relationship with the Living God.
- 5:33And one example, I believe we see here is in chapter 5 of this
- 5:36book. Here's what's happening.
- 5:40At this point, the woman, the unnamed woman apparently has a
- 5:44dream in this chapter and she is describing the dream that she
- 5:47has and the description of this dream really centers around this
- 5:51experience. That her beloved Solomon
- 5:56approaches her door, approaches her room to be in close
- 6:00proximity with her but she ignores it and she misses the
- 6:03opportunity and she realizes the foolishness of her laziness to
- 6:07not answer that door. And so she is On a quest.
- 6:10Now to find him. And so she gets up, she leaves
- 6:15her home and she goes to the city.
- 6:17This is all the dream that she's describing as she goes to the
- 6:19city and she begins to desperately and frantically try
- 6:22to find this man and she is so panicky that she begins not to
- 6:28kind of go to other people. Have you seen him?
- 6:29Have you seen him? Have you seen him?
- 6:32Finally, there's this group called the daughters of
- 6:35Jerusalem. Who observed This Woman's
- 6:38passion and her distress that they put her aside and they
- 6:43inquire there's something there's something about this
- 6:46man, clearly that is making this woman act this way and say these
- 6:49things. And so, finally, this these
- 6:52Outsiders inquire of this woman and come to verse 9 and see what
- 6:56they say, What is your beloved? More than any beloved other
- 7:03beloved. All most beautiful among women.
- 7:06What is your beloved more than another beloved that you thus a
- 7:10juror us? Let me read one more time.
- 7:13What is your beloved more than another beloved?
- 7:16All most beautiful among women? What is your beloved more than
- 7:19another beloved that you thus a juror has in essence?
- 7:23What they're saying is, hey what's so special about this
- 7:27guy? What's what about in that is
- 7:30making you so crazy running around in these streets and
- 7:32trying to find out where he is. Why leave the comfort of your
- 7:36home? Why?
- 7:37Come in the middle of the night? Why are you going up to
- 7:40strangers and are asking them for their Direction?
- 7:42What about this man is causing you to be this way?
- 7:48And I can't help but read these verses and immediately examine
- 7:51my own heart and ask how would I answer these types of questions
- 7:55as somebody were to ask me about my personal relationship with
- 7:58the Lord Jesus Christ? What's the big deal about Jesus?
- 8:07Why do you choose to worship Him among other gods?
- 8:11I see your social media, I see what you do on weekends.
- 8:13Why do you Center your entire life around someone that you
- 8:16can't even see. Why have you surrendered your
- 8:22way of life? I knew who you were before.
- 8:24This whole thing called being born again, I know who you are.
- 8:27Why are you different now? Why are you letting go of your
- 8:29friends? Why are you letting go of your
- 8:32past patterns? Why are you not going where you
- 8:34used to go? Why are you not being with who
- 8:35you used to be with what did this men do to you for you to
- 8:38speak this way and act like this?
- 8:42How would you answer that? How would you answer that?
- 8:49I think some people would answer this way.
- 8:52Well, you know, I grew up in the church and You know, just grew
- 8:57up in the church and mom and dad knew Jesus and I just thought,
- 9:02you know, this is what I'm used to.
- 9:03This is what I know. So yeah, just I go to church and
- 9:08are you able to respond in such a way in which you don't have to
- 9:12pair it? Someone else's words.
- 9:15Are you able to actually? Are you able actually Express
- 9:19who he is? In a manner in which it would
- 9:23cause people to question their unbelief in your Jesus.
- 9:28What does he mean to us or is he just theology?
- 9:32Is he just Doctrine? You know, there are a lot of
- 9:35people who are theologians that will be in Hell one day.
- 9:39You can have your theology on blackboard and have your heart
- 9:41empty of the Holy Spirit. Doesn't take much to memorize
- 9:45some truths and be able to share it with others.
- 9:47Passionately. You got to know the person of
- 9:49Jesus Christ. Who is he to you?
- 9:53What has he done for you? And this woman here is about to
- 9:59answer. She's about to answer in a
- 10:02specific way, but hear me in this.
- 10:04As we begin this conference, many people perhaps even in this
- 10:07room have reduced their Christian experience to do's and
- 10:10don'ts That's what it is. But I would ask this if we're
- 10:17going around telling people that Christianity is not a religion,
- 10:19it's a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- 10:22Let's humbly, ask this question to ourselves.
- 10:23How much of the person do I know?
- 10:26Do I claim with others that I have a relationship with He's a
- 10:31person. He's a person.
- 10:35And it's amazing how this woman answers.
- 10:38Look what she says in verse 10. My beloved is radiant and Ruddy
- 10:44distinguished among 10,000. His head is the finest gold.
- 10:48His locks are wavy black as a raven.
- 10:51His eyes are like doves besides streams of water.
- 10:54Bathed in milk, sitting beside a fool, pull pool.
- 10:58His cheeks are like the beds of spices mounds of sweet-smelling
- 11:02herbs. His lips are lilies dripping
- 11:04liquid myrrh. His arms are rods of gold set
- 11:07with jewels. His body is polished.
- 11:09Ivory bedecked with sapphires. His legs are Alabaster columns,
- 11:14sometime basis of gold. His appearance is like Lebanon
- 11:18Choice as The Cedars. What an answer?
- 11:23What an answer, she could have just said, you know, we're
- 11:27planning to get married, he's my fiance.
- 11:29Have you seen him around? No, nothing of the sort, the
- 11:32moment. These people ask who is this guy
- 11:35that makes you do this and feel this way she explodes, she
- 11:41explodes. You just you just Twisted the
- 11:45top now and I'm going to let it all out.
- 11:47Let me tell you how wonderful he is.
- 11:50And you know what? She does read carefully.
- 11:53She Grab some from head to toe. She goes from his hair to his
- 11:59eyes, to his cheeks, to his lips, to his arms, to his body,
- 12:03to his legs, from head to toe. Let me tell you, just why he
- 12:07magnetizes me and now, wonderful, he is, and what's so
- 12:13amazing about this is that you can clearly tell that this woman
- 12:16studied her beloved She didn't give some quick insignificant
- 12:22answer. No.
- 12:24She began to tell you spontaneously without
- 12:26preparation, who this man is And I'm afraid that modern
- 12:32Christianity especially in the west because of our Biblical
- 12:34illiteracy. We know how to give general
- 12:36answers, I knew how to do it. I'm telling you, I've come to
- 12:39conferences like this, maybe a younger age and we would break
- 12:42out into groups and they would. And, I would answer those things
- 12:44like I would even get scripture references.
- 12:48But there is no reality. There is no praise.
- 12:53There's no worship. There was no devotion.
- 12:58And I wonder how much of Jesus do we really know?
- 13:03How much of Jesus do? We really know with all the
- 13:05facets that we are? Given in the scriptures with all
- 13:07the angles that we are provided see what this woman is saying is
- 13:10whether you're from far up close, you'll realize something
- 13:13he is beautiful from head to toe, he is incomparable.
- 13:17In fact, she says, he is distinguished among 10,000.
- 13:21There is no one like this man. How much of Christ do we know in
- 13:27terms of him being savior? And saving work.
- 13:31Oh, he died on the cross. Great.
- 13:33What did that mean? Why did he die on the cross?
- 13:35What did it mean for him to die on the cross?
- 13:37What did it do for Humanity for him to die on the cross?
- 13:39What did his blood do in your life?
- 13:43He saved me from hell. That's wonderful.
- 13:44He doesn't just save you from how he saves you from sin.
- 13:48What did he save you from? What sins?
- 13:50Did he save you from? Can we stand before an
- 13:52unbelieving world and say, look, I want to tell you what, Jesus
- 13:54Christ saved me from this is who I was before.
- 13:57This is who I am now. I'm not perfect, but I'm walking
- 13:59in Victory. You see what I'm trying to say?
- 14:02Hope I'm trying to communicate this.
- 14:04Clearly, how much do we know of them as high priest?
- 14:07His Priestly work. Now we think Jesus ministry is
- 14:10over. No, he's actually high priest in
- 14:11heaven as we speak. When was he ordained as a high
- 14:15priest? Why high priest?
- 14:18What does it mean for Jesus to be king?
- 14:20What will it look like when he does come to this world and Rule
- 14:23and Reign for a thousand years? What does it mean for Jesus to
- 14:25be king of my life? Now what does he do for you as
- 14:27king? Who is he, as healer?
- 14:31What does he heal from? Is he able to heal it?
- 14:33Does he heal all things? What does it mean for him to
- 14:35keep his promises? What kind of promises has he
- 14:37given you? What a kind of promises?
- 14:38Do you see what I'm trying to say?
- 14:41She begins to just Ramble On on and on and on and then it's
- 14:47almost as though she runs out of language and just comes to this
- 14:51point in verse 16 his mouth is most sweet and he is altogether.
- 14:56Desirable This is my beloved look what she saying.
- 15:00This is my beloved. I didn't learn this in seminary.
- 15:04I didn't just get this for my favorite teachers on YouTube
- 15:06though. They help.
- 15:07This is my beloved and this is my friend mine.
- 15:15O Daughters of Jerusalem. and like with Christ take any angle,
- 15:24Look at any aspect of who he is and you will come to this
- 15:28conclusion. He is altogether.
- 15:30Lovely. He is altogether desirable.
- 15:34Look at him in his Holiness. Look at him in his love.
- 15:37Look at him in his mercy and his grace.
- 15:38Look at him and his judgments, you know, a lot of people today
- 15:41are uncomfortable with the doctrine of hell with the
- 15:43doctrine of God's Wrath. Do you realize in the Book of
- 15:46Revelation? How much of the themes of
- 15:47worship songs are his judgments? You know, in heaven, people are
- 15:54actually going to be singing and praising God with hallelujahs
- 15:57for him judging the wicked. Because no matter what point you
- 16:02take just like a diamond no matter what face you turn it
- 16:04towards it will radiate his Beauty And His Majesty he is
- 16:08infinitely glorious. He is altogether desirable.
- 16:13I mean, you can use any example, you can go to any portion of the
- 16:17scripture and you will find something of just how wonderful
- 16:20he is. Let me give you an example, with
- 16:22the genealogies of Jesus Christ, the things that we skip over The
- 16:27genealogies of Jesus Christ. You can see his majesty right
- 16:30there, how? Matthew, and what's the other
- 16:33book? Luke correct Matthew, why did
- 16:37Matthew give us the genealogy of Jesus Christ?
- 16:39Was audience was a Jewish audience and he wanted to show
- 16:43the people he want to show the nation of Israel that Jesus
- 16:47Christ son, of Joseph, son of Mary, Jesus Christ is what he
- 16:53is, the legal heir to David's throne.
- 16:57And so he reels back the lineage, through David to
- 17:00Abraham to show that he is a Jew and he is in fact a descendant
- 17:03of David Therefore, as a descendant of David, he must and
- 17:07he will occupy the throne and he will deliver the people of
- 17:10Israel, he will deliver the Jews.
- 17:13Not politically one day, he's going to do it in a real sense
- 17:16where he's going to come into this world and he's going to
- 17:18occupy a throne in Jerusalem. But more importantly, for the
- 17:22soul, he will liberate your soul.
- 17:24He will set you free once and for all the nation of Israel
- 17:27must realize through that genealogy, Jesus Christ is in
- 17:30fact, a descendant of David, the son of David.
- 17:32Also, the root of David. He is King of the The Jews.
- 17:36Luke now, Luke comes in with a genealogy and Luke is not
- 17:39concerned necessarily about a Jewish audience.
- 17:42You read look carefully and Luke chapter 3.
- 17:44And you realize that he does go through Mary's line, some debate
- 17:49that. But I believe that is to be
- 17:50true. He goes through Mary's line,
- 17:53because Mary also is a descendent of David, but through
- 17:56a different son of David, you got to read that carefully to
- 17:58see it, but Luke is not concerned about how Jesus was a
- 18:04Jew. Luke reels, the lineage all the
- 18:09way back to. Who Who.
- 18:15Adam. He goes all the way to the
- 18:18Garden to the first man who have ever existed and saying son of
- 18:22Adam, Son of God. Why did Luke do that?
- 18:26Again, Luke is not concerned about a Jewish audience.
- 18:30Luke wants to show that the humanness of Jesus.
- 18:33Yes, but he goes back to Adam to declare what Jesus didn't come.
- 18:36Just to save the Jews. He came to save the whole human
- 18:38race. Jesus came to redeem man from
- 18:43The Curse of Adam and he is the last Adam and he will reverse
- 18:47everything that has happened in the garden and he was establish
- 18:49a new Garden for all eternity. He is the greater and the final
- 18:53Adam What about the other genealogies?
- 18:57There isn't any why? That's by Divine Design?
- 19:02You come to the Book of Mark and you realize.
- 19:04Where is his genealogy? There's any deserve another one.
- 19:07Maybe so. But what's marks concern?
- 19:11Marks, concern isn't necessary, they show the humanness of
- 19:15Jesus, or that Jesus was the king of the Jews.
- 19:17March concern is to show the world that Jesus fulfilled, the
- 19:20Prophecies of the suffering servant in Isaiah. and this is
- 19:25how you know it you read Mark and if you've read mark There's
- 19:29a is a word that occurs over and over again.
- 19:31Does anybody know the word immediately?
- 19:36Go to your room tonight and just scan Through The Book of Mark
- 19:39and you'll see this word over and over again, immediately,
- 19:42immediately immediately immediately immediately, Mark
- 19:44isn't concerned about showing the depths of divine truth.
- 19:47Like, in different gospels, he's not even concerned of giving
- 19:51Parables as much as Matthew and Luke, he wants to show how Jesus
- 19:55was eager and willing to serve the father.
- 19:58So, immediately he heals and immediately, he goes to this
- 20:00place and immediately returns and immediately he walks on
- 20:02immediately immediately, like a good servant?
- 20:05No. Hesitation Obedience.
- 20:08But here's the thing in that humble is State.
- 20:11We have to understand that. Even, in ancient times servants,
- 20:14were not worthy to have their genealogies recorded.
- 20:18There was nothing significant about who they were.
- 20:20There was no great inheritance to pass down.
- 20:22So Jesus, as a humble servant is irrelevant.
- 20:27Concerning a genealogy. He's just a good servant.
- 20:34John. What is John's concern
- 20:38concerning Jesus is the show that he was a king.
- 20:42Is that the show that he was a son of man in terms of being a
- 20:45human was, at the show that he was a suffering servant.
- 20:49Where is John's genealogy of Jesus?
- 20:51Well, John's concern is to demonstrate one thing.
- 20:53He's the son of God. He is God in the flesh.
- 20:58He's the Eternal one who came into this, temporal world, and
- 21:02he radiated, the divine nature. We know that in the Book of
- 21:05John, you see, those wonderful I am statements.
- 21:08So you want to know where the genealogy of Jesus says in John,
- 21:11there isn't any. Why?
- 21:11Because he's God. In the beginning was the word
- 21:15and the Word was with God and the Word was God, no need for
- 21:18genealogy. He always was.
- 21:21He always will be Jesus. Christ is forever.
- 21:24God Genealogy does not your heart burn within you just to
- 21:30realize the Masterpiece of the genealogies of Jesus Christ.
- 21:33And we haven't even got to his work in his words yet.
- 21:39He is altogether desirable He's altogether.
- 21:42Wonderful. And that's the point of this
- 21:45conference. This is the greatest enemy to a
- 21:47preacher by the way. A giant clock.
- 21:50How wonderful nice to meet you again friend, every year?
- 21:54I see that thing I'm like, oh, great.
- 22:01This is the whole point of the conference for one single
- 22:03purpose. One single purpose, prayerfully
- 22:06to be understood that you and I would fall in love with the
- 22:08person of Jesus Christ. Because that is the whole Crux
- 22:13of the matter. And when you real, if I can use
- 22:17this language when you see him head to toe, I mean this weekend
- 22:21will not do justice because here's what it is when you come
- 22:24to the realization of who he is, it's like entering into a door.
- 22:27When you come to a certain portion of scripture or you hear
- 22:29a certain truth, you enter into a door.
- 22:31And here, this room filled with jewels and gems and diamonds and
- 22:34you examine them and I can tell you this from just 10 years of
- 22:37walking with the Lord and you think you figured it all out,
- 22:40you memorize them. You place them in nice little
- 22:42cases. You memorize certain thing and
- 22:44you're like wow this is amazing. What a wonderful Discovery and
- 22:47an offer sudden you look up and you see a wall another door and
- 22:51you open that door, you enter. And it's a bigger room and you
- 22:53thought, I thought I was over. I thought I realized all that I
- 22:55need to realize and then you see all these brand new jewels and
- 22:58gems and diamonds and coins and chest, and you open them up and
- 23:01you think after a few years I think I got it.
- 23:03I think I understand then you look up and you see another door
- 23:05and you open that door and there it is.
- 23:07Another big room filled with all these wonderful things.
- 23:09That's what it's like to know him.
- 23:11Anything well, where does it end?
- 23:12Well, I'll tell you where it ends one day, you'll come to a
- 23:14room, you'll open that door. And that door is going to lead
- 23:16you into a place called heaven. And when you get to heaven it's
- 23:20not going to have a door. It's not going to have walls.
- 23:23It's going to be an endless space where you will discover
- 23:25that the vine glories of God. For all eternity thousand years
- 23:30will pass by and you would only scratch the surface of just how
- 23:34wonderful he is. But we need help.
- 23:41We need help. Because we're clogged with so
- 23:44much dirt and filth and distractions.
- 23:47I'm telling you, this generation will have it on its Tombstone
- 23:50death by Distraction. We need help and Paul himself
- 23:56knows that the church needs help.
- 23:57That's why he says in Ephesians 1 16, 17.
- 23:59I do not cease. To give, thanks to you.
- 24:04Remembering you my prayers at the god of our Lord.
- 24:07Jesus Christ. The father of Glory, may give
- 24:09you the spirit of wisdom. And Revelation in the knowledge
- 24:13of him. Church of Ephesus.
- 24:17I am fully aware that you and I need the power of the Holy
- 24:21Spirit, his wisdom, his Revelation to come to the
- 24:24knowledge of who he is. You see tonight, the holy spirit
- 24:29is eager to glorify the Son of God because that's what he was
- 24:33sent to do. But the Holy Spirit meets a
- 24:36heart that is hungry. See Paul was hungry, not just
- 24:40for him but for the church to understand him so he prays and
- 24:44the Holy Spirit when he sees a heart that says I want to know
- 24:48him more, he'll meet it and he'll do it in different ways.
- 24:51I'm telling you, do it in your personal reading.
- 24:53He'll do it through a sermon. He'll do it through
- 24:55conversations. He finds marvelous ways to
- 24:57reveal the Majesty of the person.
- 24:59You and I claim to be savior. What's the result?
- 25:04I'm closing now? What's the result of this many
- 25:07things? You'll know deeper worship a
- 25:09deeper devotion? And something happens in the
- 25:12world things begin to get, strangely, grim and gray and
- 25:17they lose their flavor. you know, once in a while I hear
- 25:20about Trends and stuff and I just kind of want to peek into
- 25:23what's You know, happening in the world.
- 25:25So I dip my toe in it and I look into him like this is what
- 25:28people are crazy about this stuff.
- 25:33This is what people are obsessed with and millions of views are
- 25:35going towards. I'm like no, thank you.
- 25:36And I close that door and I go back to that room.
- 25:38That Jesus open. So yes, you will know a deeper
- 25:42love from a deeper revelation of Us near sense of his presence.
- 25:45But look, at chapter 6, verse 1, of Song of Solomon, look at what
- 25:50the people who initially asked this woman, what's the big deal
- 25:53of your beloved? Look, what happens to them?
- 25:56Where has your beloved gone? O?
- 25:57Most beautiful among women. Where has your beloved turn?
- 26:01That we may seek him with you? You see what happens here.
- 26:08So you have these inquires, you have those that are asking and
- 26:12then the moment, the woman describes the man, they are now
- 26:16persuaded to search for him as well.
- 26:21They are now not just curious about This Woman's relationship
- 26:26with this men. They are now curious to discover
- 26:28the man for themselves. You know what this generation
- 26:32needs more than anything, real Christians, like real
- 26:35Christians, real Christians. Possessed with a love and
- 26:39Obsession for this person. Jesus Christ to the point where
- 26:42it's contagious to the point where I actually makes people
- 26:45wonder why is it that you don't do all these things and you're
- 26:49so consumed with this person and you seem like a person who's
- 26:52mentally stable, you seem like a person who's educated, you don't
- 26:55seem like you're off the grid. You seem like a sensible person.
- 26:58So why is it that you are so different?
- 27:02And perhaps it's possible that you and I can come to a place
- 27:04where we are so, so captured and enthralled by him, that
- 27:10evangelism is just a natural outcome of our personal worship.
- 27:14And people wonder what is happening here.
- 27:16And then they begin to wonder, and they begin to make their own
- 27:18Quest. You want to see happening in the
- 27:20New Testament, I assure you, this is over after this.
- 27:23Matthew Chapter 2, what happens in Matthew chapter 2 Look at
- 27:28verse one, you're familiar with this.
- 27:30Matthew 21. Now, after Jesus was born in
- 27:33Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod, the king behold, wise
- 27:37men from the East came to Jerusalem saying, look at this.
- 27:41Where is he? Where is he who has been born
- 27:47King of the Jews for? We saw his star when it Rose and
- 27:50have come to worship Him. Contrary to the manger scene
- 27:58that you see up in Christmas, there was, I believe more than
- 28:00three. There was enough wise, men to
- 28:01come into Jerusalem and cause a Ruckus.
- 28:03It says, all of Jerusalem was disturbed by these men coming in
- 28:07and Desiring to know where the Messiah is.
- 28:12So they come and they say where is he?
- 28:15We want to know where this king of the Jews were ready to
- 28:18worship Him. Here's my question, how do these
- 28:22wise men from the East have any understanding of a Jewish King?
- 28:27Who would be born at this time? I understand if Israelis at this
- 28:32time would say, hey, where is he?
- 28:34We've studied the books. We realize that he can be coming
- 28:37any moment now, and we want to know where he's at.
- 28:39We want to worship and you have men from the East traveling
- 28:42miles upon miles to come to Jerusalem to inquire.
- 28:46What's the relationship? How do these wise men?
- 28:48These Magi have any comprehension that there would
- 28:51be a messiah born as a child. Here's what I believe.
- 28:58If you scan scripture, your realize that there is a heavy
- 29:00load of evidence of these people called the Magi, the wise men
- 29:03and a specific book in the Old Testament, which one is it?
- 29:06The Book of Daniel? The Book of Daniel.
- 29:11And what's amazing about Daniel who is taken from Israel with
- 29:14his friends because of God's judgment upon the nation brought
- 29:17to which place Babylon. There brought their right before
- 29:20Babylon and Daniel has such an influence.
- 29:23He is so filled with the spirit. He is now promoted early on in
- 29:28the Book of Daniel, to be chief of who the Magi chief of the
- 29:33Wiseman. And I believe Daniel had gained
- 29:36such respect such Authority that those who were under His
- 29:41tutelage those who are under his supervision heard about this
- 29:45Messiah through his own Lips Read Daniel, how much does he
- 29:49get about the revelation of the Messiah to come the son of man
- 29:53the one who's about to come in a certain amount of years and I am
- 29:56sure that with Daniel pass along to the Magi as a person of great
- 30:02impact on their culture, these Magi passed down from one
- 30:05generation to the next one. Generation to the next one.
- 30:08Generation to the next to the point of this.
- 30:10This generation with a magi realize, he should be here any
- 30:13moment now and they come because of one person who worked in a
- 30:18governmental position. They had the audacity in the
- 30:22boldness to speak about the Wonders, the coming Kingdom of
- 30:26the true king that would destroy all other kingdoms and
- 30:28governments. Imagine that one man's testimony
- 30:32had generational effects. I'm sure Daniel though, he was
- 30:36prophetic didn't understand the implications of what he would
- 30:38share in his office and what he would share in those courtrooms
- 30:44and all for a sin. You have these men of the East
- 30:45as says that great teacher, Daniel hundreds of years ago,
- 30:48told us about this Messiah. Now, we want to come and see
- 30:50him. Where is he?
- 30:52We want to worship. And so you and I have an
- 30:57opportunity to deepen our understanding of Christ to
- 30:59worship and truly to love him, to see him through the lens of
- 31:02the scripture in such a way. When we go back into that world,
- 31:07we will have a new Fresh seal and sharpness to our testimony
- 31:11of Christ. The other people would say I've
- 31:14been pretty miserable my whole life.
- 31:19Where is he? I want to know him more.
- 31:24I'm excited for this weekend. I hope you are too.
- 31:28This is a deep. Well that never runs dry.
- 31:31Never been disappointed. Sometimes this word punches me
- 31:36in the gut with conviction and other times, it showers me with
- 31:39comfort that the Living God is watching.
- 31:42Over me, he's for me, is with me.
- 31:44He would lead me to the end. I would like to say so much
- 31:48more, but we'll leave it for this weekend.
- 31:51Let's pray together, shall we? And just set your heart to ask
- 32:07what Paul asked of the spirit of wisdom and revelation.
- 32:12Lord, help me. See Christ.
- 32:14My eyes have been dull for a while.
- 32:17My heart has been hard. Lord your word.
- 32:20If I'm honest has been collecting dust instead of
- 32:23collecting my affections. Heavenly Father.
- 32:39Lord we are humbled in this place.
- 32:44Lord, we want to partner with you, to know the depths of who
- 32:48Jesus is. Low.
- 32:51We don't want to just no General things or take us up close.
- 32:58Help us see him in his Humanity. Help us, see us.
- 33:00See him in his divinity. Help us.
- 33:03See us in him. Help us see us without him.
- 33:06Lord in this place. You know, the hearts that know
- 33:10you, you know, the hearts that have yet to come to know you but
- 33:12we pray that together in this place, we would all have an
- 33:16encounter with Christ and that we would all get in our cars and
- 33:20leave this place by the end of the week and knowing that we
- 33:22have met with the Living God. Do we pray against the works?
- 33:26Of Satan, we pray against the things that would distract
- 33:30people from seeing Christ and that could be as simple as
- 33:33sickness Lord. We pray that every person in
- 33:36this place would be Heavenly minded with all the joys of
- 33:39fellowship and games and all these wonderful things.
- 33:43We pray that one thing would be true that you would be the
- 33:45Supreme desire of our hearts. And Lord if that's not the case.
- 33:52When our hearts this weekend, transform us.
- 33:56Because Lord, we know that, when we see you rightly, we see other
- 33:59things, everything the way we're supposed to see them.
- 34:03And so Lord, in this place we commit this week and every
- 34:05session all the times in between that you would be in the midst.
- 34:09We pray for profound Fellowship, we pray for life-changing
- 34:14sessions, we pray, Lord, that if this book is true that we would,
- 34:20we would love you the way you deserve to be loved and we know
- 34:23that you're able to bring us there.
- 34:25We commit these things into the hands of the living Christ in
- 34:28Jesus name we pray. Amen, and amen.
- 34:31God bless you, the stand and Worship the Lord together.
