Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Hey everyone, it's Ryan from the future, uh, seven or 18 days in the future.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: You are going to be listening to me and Brian talk about Pokemon Legends Arquise and other Nintendo games.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: The episode is kind of like,
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's like in between.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel like it's not super positive and then maybe it's not super negative I just feel like It's it was really tough to talk about it because one I think Brian so I said finish legends arc.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and then my self I only have like 30 hours on the game I didn't finish the polka dex.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't get the shiny charm and that's kind of like a big deal for me and polka my game It's the problem is I just haven't felt it which says a lot about the game itself like I haven't felt like I should complete it
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: So take that for what you will.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: And then also while recording this episode, I was one day away from proposing to my girlfriend who is now my fiance.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: So I was just kind of on edge stressed out, anxious to make sure like the proposal went right.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: And
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, you know, I still have a job.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: We got to make sure everything's going well at work It was just a lot, so and I mean a lot as in like I probably shouldn't have recorded the podcast But yes, she said yes We're engaged.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: I honestly couldn't be happier.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: She is definitely the one for me and I'm just so excited to
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: share that with any of you who still listen to this but yes i do want to give some clarity to this episode it was it was off the cuff which is what the i want this podcast to be but i feel like there's some things we may have missed i'll let you be the judge of that um i'm really excited to play Kirby donkey Kong and Metroid Prime 4 which comes out this week
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: to do like an overall switch, the 2025 switch to review.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: So basically my goal is to get like five hours into every switch to a game that I have.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: I'm ready almost there in terms of like Donkey Kong and Mario Kart already put like 30 hours into.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: To give like my general like review of like the console, it's launch lineup in terms of like the year it came out because I actually have like a theory on that.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: That's pretty much it.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: We have Fallout Burning Springs coming out December 2nd, which I can't wait to talk about and play and share with everyone.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: Just a lot of really cool stuff.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: I also launched a brand new page on TikTok called, it just works TCG Hub.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be a place where I talk about the hobby.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: My favorite cards, I open packs.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you talk about the Godzilla TCG or the Halo Legacy Collection and then eventually when I get them to review them.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: the Monster Hunter Secret Layer from Magic the Gathering.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: Just a lot of really cool stuff in the works.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: The problem is the consistency of posting, so bear with me on that.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: But now we'll get back to the show.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you guys enjoy the episode, and I can't wait to talk to you on the next one.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a Black Friday.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: Happy Cyber Monday to you all, and I'll talk to you later.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_02]: His esteemed gowns, the voice of Master Chief, Spartan 117, with an incoming message for Ryan Green, and all who listen to the podcast, it just works.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_02]: Let's finish the fight.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_02]: Listen up, Chief, out.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Adjustments podcast.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: I'm your host Ryan, and today, Brian is back on the show to talk about all things in the Tendo Pokemon, and just kind of catch up on everything that's happened recently.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's been a long time since we've had him on and had the time to talk about leaks, announcements, trailers, and then Legends EA as a game overall.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: So Brian, how you doing, man?
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing great, I'm glad to be back.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot to,
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: Talk about a lot of Pokemon and Nintendo stuff in general to catch up on, so glad to be here to talk about it.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: there really is a lot to catch up on.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: We're definitely going back to just doing things off the cuff.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't really know how much we're going to remember.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: So if we miss anything I had a time, just let me know and I'll talk about on the next episode because I'm feel like there's going to be something.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: But we'll start off with the new Super Mario movie, Super Mario Galaxy, the movie.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: They released the trailer today, so because we're recording this on Wednesday,
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be honest, because the other day we were on the phone and Brian made a good point, like who's going to be the voice actor of Yoshi, and I was terrified inside because I just realized every other character talks now, because of the first movie, so I'm like, oh my god, I have to hear someone talk as Yoshi, and I'm not looking forward to it.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: So I was like, all right, let's just release the trailer and get this over with, but sure enough, he's not even mentioned even remotely.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: Um, well, first thing that I don't think that he's gonna have a voice, but I just think it would be funny if he did have a voice and How weird it would be so it's gonna be so I'm surprised we didn't see a single screenshot of Yoshi.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's like the trial trailer was trying to like hide it as if we didn't already know, but I mean, it's already out there.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: So But overall, it was a cool trailer.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of expected a little bit more.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: We only really got the reveal of Rosalina, which
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's a galaxy movie.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: We knew Rosalina was going to be in it.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: Then we got Bowser Junior, which I was a little bit surprised by Bowser Junior, because I can't remember off top of my head, but I don't know if Bowser Junior wasn't galaxy.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know either.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't believe so, but we also found out about the actors and at first I was like, pretty larson, and then I listened to her like a couple clips and I'm like, she sounds pretty good as Rosalina.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: I'm happy with that as well and then yeah I forget the other guy's name Ben he's been in the last movie he's an author gamer he's an uncut gem the bad guy and happy you'll more too I know that he's an happy Gilmore too he sounded really good as Bowser Jr's well I I like the trailer because I forgot that at the ending of the last movie that Bowser's tiny
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: So, him having like a tiny fucking castle, I thought was so cool, I know some people probably like see thing at the mouth though because Bowser has been kind of reduced to like just the comic relief and like not not that he was ever like extremely villainous like on screen in the games and stuff.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's more like the lore that makes him more of a villain.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's just
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: He's not, I don't know, he's not really antagonizing.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's more of just kind of funny and like, it's cool to happen there.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: But it is funny for him.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: This is like, say, hi, Luigi, and then like, Mario's given him like the side eye.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: So I want to throw the painting.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: The painting was pretty funny.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm really interested to see that dynamic more.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: There might not be more to it because it's not about Bowser.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: I thought Brie Larson,
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: You know, obviously we think about her recently in Hollywood and she's kind of annoying, but she is no doubt like a major fan of Nintendo.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: Like, she is a 100% of fan of Nintendo.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: She's been in commercials even before that.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: She was posting matters to which and stuff and like, it's a no related posts.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, I think she sounds really good as a Rosalina.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think it's a good fit.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: I hope it all works out in, you know, in terms of the writing for the character.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: But you've been safty as well.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: It sounds really good.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's Bowser Junior.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: Um, obviously on your Taylor joys back as a peach and she's looks like she's going to have some pretty cool moments.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: I know this is like kind of cheesy, but as a kid growing up, and they kind of like alluded to it with obviously the first film and obviously the games do.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: But it would be cool to see more of like the peach and Mario relationship kind of explored.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you feel that way, but I think because of the way they've designed these characters in the world.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's like a mature enough to where you couldn't kind of have those moments.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, like a, like a, like a whimsical like Han Solo and like Princess Leia kind of aspect where it's not overtly obvious, but like you know that they like each other or like that they would do anything for each other kind of thing.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: I thought somebody at Nintendo came forward like last year and they said that their relationship is like not romantic.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's strictly like their friends.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: I remember that being a big thing and a lot of people like reporting on it.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of always saw them as a couple.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: Why wouldn't you, but Well, I mean, he's really got like heart eyes for her and stuff.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like, well, no, that is a real thing.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, yes, you are actually correct.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: That was like a statement made.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it was made by like me a moto or someone else that's like actually important.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it's like someone who just works there and gave their opinion and someone ran with it.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't remember, but I do remember like it existing.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't remember who said it.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think for me it's like, well, obviously Sunshine's my personal favorite Mario game.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: You say that's wild.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's wild.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm kind of in the camp where it's like, it's an okay Mario game.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's definitely different compared to the other ones, but I, I just haven't talked to a lot of people that pick that as their favorite.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: So that's just different for me to hear.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think it'd be that or suit Mario 64 DS and I would say DS because I think it's so cool to play as the other characters.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: The multiplayer was really fun.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think that actually might be a wild take as well for some period's out there.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: But if you were, if you were like,
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: like maybe more traditional mario and probably be see mario 3d land on the 3ds.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: I remember not about that for me.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: I was like a full grown adult.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: But she bought it for me for my birthday anyways.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: She just saw it and said, you know, hey, I bought this for you.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, okay, never played it.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like the 2d mario.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: So I didn't know what to expect.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: And that game, I know life the fuck out of it.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: Well, like 3d mario is my heart.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: 2d mario suck unless it's 2 mario wonder.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: No, I think that's the first game I've ever like 100% got like every single thing you could do in that game and Also proud of myself on that after you do that the entire map turns into the like Halloween world and it was really cool No, I'm good.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's wild.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: I like Yoshi's Island better I do like Yoshi's Island a lot too.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't I don't I beat that one.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: I don't remember if I hundred percent But I I played the game board of ants poured as a kid not the super Nintendo one
- 10:40[SPEAKER_00]: And played the port, and then I played the DS version where they added like the other Mario characters as babies.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: Is that one a remake or was it a like sequel?
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like essentially a remake of the original, just with different abilities with the babies.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: And it was like pre-sick.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: And then all the other ones, topsy-turvy 3DS, the 3DS one has the same song the entire game.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's a fantastic, it's pretty horrible.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: For what ever reason, they can't really figure out the Yoshi games.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like, even the new one that's coming out next year, I'm going to get it, but I'm not even excited for it.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm going to get it because that's my boy, and I got to support him.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: I adore like Yoshi's Island, but every Yoshi game, like after Island, just hasn't hit the same.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: But there's some cool ones.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: Woolly World looks really nice.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: Woolly World's fine crafted world is sick as fuck.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: if you have a kid.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have a kid, but I play it on the switch.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a world made of paper.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, actually kind of cool.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's all 2D, 2.5.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: We're cutting where you are Yoshi in the movie, man.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: That's, you have to be stoked.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think it's design looks perfect.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: Not that you would really like fuck it up, but it just looks like the way it should.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like how I would imagine it.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I know we kind of got to have track, it's just but in sunshine, Mario literally has heart eyes for like peach and they go on a trip, I don't know.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like the media, in terms of the games, have kind of always alluded to it.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: So I felt like it should be like a natural thing.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's literally him saving the princess.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: Like, Mario is like, Nintendo's like Disney character.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like he's gonna save the princess.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's what his job is.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's what his goal is.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's kind of shitty if it's not the case.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying the movies I'm just saying in general is like a character lore.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder what they will go for in the movies though.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder he's kind of like have a crit.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: Well, didn't he already kind of have a, no, he just, when he was running down the hallway, didn't he just like see her and like get hard areas or something like that?
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: Something like that.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't remember.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: They definitely alluded to it in the movies and then Daisy and Luigi are kind of like a thing.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's a fucking thing, dude.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's a thing.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: No, not really.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: He's so fucking forgetable.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, anyways, the trailer look good.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to shit for it.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_00]: I agree with what Eric put in our chat.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: I saw the first movie with the kids.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: I'm definitely going to make sure I'm there for the next premiere.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited, but I'm still kind of shocked that for the second one, they went with Galaxy instead of like the third one.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm kind of bummed out about that, too.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: They definitely, I agree with you before I cut you off.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah, I think they must have a plan because the last movie ends with the Yoshi eggs.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, okay, well, maybe get like a Yoshi's Island backstory or I guess for you, like, Sumario World.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: Galaxies kind of out of left field for me.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that was the working title for the second movie wasn't it like the Super Mario World movie or so I don't know.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: I could be wrong.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm very curious to see how they pull this off and like what how it ends and like what like if it alludes like I keep saying alludes like I stop saying that.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: But if they like make a point like hey this is the direction we're going
- 14:12[SPEAKER_00]: I got to admit that I don't even know if I care because the first movie was so good.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like I was so impressed with like, it wasn't like an nostalgia bait.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: It was like, hey, we know you're a fan.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: Here's what we're going to do.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: But we're also going to make sure it's good for kids, new generation, and like bring in these characters to life through animation.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: I really liked the first movie, but it was very, they played everything safe that they absolutely could.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I can't complain because it was a good movie and I didn't enjoy it, but some parts just felt kind of bland and just, it's exactly what you would expect a whole Mario movie.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: If you told me 10, 20 years ago, hey, there's gonna be animated Mario movie and I will, I've would have guessed that.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing really like surprised me other than like, maybe the little cameo's and stuff, but that shouldn't even surprise me.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think the only thing that surprised me is like at the T's at Luigi Mansion, Luigi's Mansion when he's walking by himself after they get separated by the pipes.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that'll be a thing.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: Didn't intend to also recently say that they're really going to ramp up on doing like more movie properties and stuff like that movie properties and then they're like yeah and then stuff for like other characters like they're definitely trying to focus on games and other characters now.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see if there's like a Metroid bounty hunting.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: So funny because Brie Larson has set on record.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: I think two or three times that if they ever do a Metroid movie, she wants to play Samus like She wants to so Who is I talking to about it today?
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: They were like oh maybe she's up a zero so it's Samus from all the ones.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: She's like maybe She's doing a favor for them playing Rosalina so she could play Samus down the line.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Who knows?
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: Anything else on it?
- 16:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it opens spring 2026 and I honestly can't wait to see it.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: I'm really looking forward to it.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: Next up, we'll talk about keeping it like towards the general Nintendo audience Metroid Prime 4.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: They recently launched another trailer about a week ago, I think.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_00]: And I got it same and I'm really looking forward to this game as someone who like, which is they committed to Metroid Prime games more.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: It just looks like a good, like,
- 16:29[SPEAKER_00]: killer app for the switch to a good sci-fi shooter like I like the Metroid universe I really do I just wish I would have more time to care about it as in like finish the remaster which looks also really good um but I think like the beginning of the trailer just showing like different planets or like different uh biomes and um just the combat I just really really like the way it
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's funny though Sam is does the Akira bike move, but I'm hoping those open world bike segments aren't so
- 17:08[SPEAKER_00]: empty.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they definitely need more there and they could just be that specific spot because it seems to be the same spot we've already seen before.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: So there's nothing saying we can't go through like a jungle or a valley that has, you know, something to offer more than just sand in the desert.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, that game comes out in December and I wish it had multiplayer, like Metroid Prime Hunters, because Blvd on my favorite game is that one from Metroid.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: I played the fuck out of it because I always thought it was like cool.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's like halo, but I can't help.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_00]: But what do you think of Metroid Prime 4 so far, Brad?
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think for the most part it looks really good.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really excited.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe it's less than a month away.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: But those desert scenes that you brought up on the bike leave me a little worried because it just looks like just bland just a desert of nothing.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: And that just looks like
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I'm so used to the all the mature games in the past, just looking like absolutely stunning and beautiful for like the systems they're on at the time, but just seeing Samus ride the bike through the desert and it's just like absolutely nothing out there.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of a little worrisome, but I'm sure it's going to be a great game retro, always there's a really good with the franchise.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: I am worried about how much it's going to sell though, because I feel like
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: They haven't barely been promoting it.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: There's less than a month, and I feel like with ZA and other Nintendo games, there's like a lot more promotions.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: This one's kind of been quiet.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: I was hoping we would get a rent, I can't talk, prime four direct, kind of like how they did with air riders, and they did with other games in the past.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_01]: Just give us a little like 30, 40 minute direct show this game to people.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like,
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: I want this game to succeed so bad, but so far the marketing has been like awful.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully it sells well, hopefully it's the best selling matured because I think Dred is currently the best selling one.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_01]: The games have never really done that well as far as sales.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: They've always done respectable, but nothing like Zelda and Mario not even close, but I'm excited, man.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe it's here because it's been
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: Like five years, six years.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: Well since I played Metroid Prime 3, it's been like, I think, 1718 years.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think, you know, the thing is to base off like the last trailer and I think this is why the last trailer made me so excited for it.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_00]: It kind of gives me the breath of the wild Odyssey vibe.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like there's definitely something there that attracts me.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: That makes it feel like this is like them trying to really push for a somewhat fresh take on the Metroid Prime series.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: I could be wrong as someone who didn't play two in Ecos.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_00]: Um, wait, Ecos is the third one right?
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that one is multiplayer.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I don't know for sure like compare to those games if this one looks that different but to me it does and I'm very curious to see how it plays out and
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm really hoping, just like you said, man, I really hope this game is good and it's successful.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_00]: I hate to see that these other big, first party IPs not do good, because I feel like Metroid Prime and Star Fox and probably technically Yoshi, because you never really hear anything about them after they come out.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: I hope that they don't really fall into that category anymore, like,
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: I would hope that Nintendo really looks at Odyssey, Donkey Kong Bananza, Breath of Wild, tears of the Kingdom, and go, okay, like we need these refresh games for these characters.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: And I think they all deserve it.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: And Metroid Prime is such a huge franchise.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: Like people who love Samus are like, that's my fucking character right there.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I totally am all for it.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_00]: I do think Nintendo needs its sci-fi shooter.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think every franchise,
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: like kills them should come back for fucking, I'm sorry, kills them in a resistance should come back for PlayStation and I think this is a great opportunity for them to kind of get away from Splatoon and mean they're only like shooting type game.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I'm rooting for this so hard.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait to play it and like talk about it, especially with you of course, I will be buying this day one so there'll be some type of
- 21:26[SPEAKER_00]: uh... discussion on it for sure i i plan on at least dumping as many hours as i can until i figure out why i can't stick to the trip prime games uh... for whatever reason hunters is like the only one that's really grab me and like i couldn't let go but in my defense hunters as a launch title for the three ds was actually like pretty impressive i'm sorry ds was actually like pretty fucking impressive
- 21:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's the only time I played Hunters.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: I had the demo game that was the demo on the original gray brick in Sendo DS, but I never bought the full on Metroid Prime Hunters.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: I played like almost every mentor game, but that's one of them that just alluded to me.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_01]: Now you got me saying alluded.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, sorry.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_00]: I used to play it online all the time on the DS and I played the heck out of that campaign.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how it holds up today, but that game is is magnificent and I really hope that Prime 4 brings me in.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see the primary master kind of got me interested.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't know what it is about that first segment before you get the rocket.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: So I just lost interest in everything I've made of which game look that fucking beautiful.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_00]: Which is why it pisses me off that I haven't played it because it looks so good.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_01]: It needs to be studied because
- 22:42[SPEAKER_01]: Retro does some amazing shit with the hardware they work on like that game.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: What's fucking incredible for us Which should play it?
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I beat that one.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_01]: It was really yeah so much fun.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah Anything else son that trade for I saying when I'm gonna say no we just all hope it does well
- 22:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, man, I hope it does great.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: Please if you're if you're curious about it, you have a switch to buy this fucking game support it.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_00]: It looks really good, and it's a fantastic character.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: That's very well known.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_00]: But before we dive into Pokemon links and legends EA.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_00]: I actually just finished because the new one came out.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_00]: I finished Hyrule Warriors age of calamity.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_00]: Say forgot that I didn't finish it.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: I was literally three quests away from being done with the main quests.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_00]: So I went back and played that.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if you've ever played Hyrule Warriors or Dynasty Warriors with those games are some of the most satisfying games of the play.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_00]: Like you could just fucking turn your brain off and just have fun.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was the second one I played
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: the newest one is based off tears of the kingdom was the last one before based off worth the wild yeah i played that one and i wish i could get into it but it's literally like
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: No, no hate say anybody who likes that, but it's just like needless just hack and slash and that's what it is.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like it just felt very repetitive to me and I wish I put more time to do it because if I'm being honest, I've probably put 30, 40 minutes into it, and I'm sure it gets better, but I just was not impressed.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's one of the few switch games I've sold because I never swelts sell my night keeping the mic to your mouth.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_00]: App.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think you should have gave it more time because you, I mean, no matter what if hack and slash isn't for you, you're not going to like the game, so that doesn't change.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_00]: But I think the best part about that franchise is not only does it give you extra content to the Zelda games that have been life changing for a lot of us in terms of game perspective and like what we appreciate, it gives so much backstory to every single character and not only that, you can play as every single character.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like I unlocked the king and he was so fucking sick to play as.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, oh shit, I know you can unlock everyone in that game.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_00]: I just didn't, I didn't care to do the extra content right now.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_00]: And then I beat Hyrule Warriors way back in the day on the Wii U.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_00]: And I forgot that the definitive edition came out on the switch.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: I actually bought it because it was more expensive physically than digitally.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think because the game's just so old, now it's just kind of too expensive to buy the cart cartridge.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_00]: And actually, that game ran at 60 frames on the switch.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_00]: So on the switch too, it looks fucking phenomenal.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like it plays so well, and that game, if you don't know, is like their own original take on the Zelda franchise, like obviously the goals the same, but it has assets and the music from every single game before Breath of the Wild.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_00]: and then there's DLC expansion packs for almost every major game.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's a Skyward Sword expansion, Twilight, Auckland at the time.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think Majora's mask as well.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_00]: Windwaker, so I get to play all of that.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I was, I just forgot how amazing this franchise is.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like it made me so happy to play high rewards definitive edition for like two hours of a day.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_00]: But needless to say, age of imprisonment came out, I've heard it's actually really good.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen some of the cutscenes again.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: It just adds a ton of backstory to tears of the kingdom.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_00]: So my plan now is to actually play age of imprisonment and then finish tears of the kingdom.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_00]: Since that's going to be the last mainline Zelda we have for a really long time.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, there's my high-roll warriors chat.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna go back to those games.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: I need to find some second hand copies and maybe give them a chance again.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I would say like, if you're looking for a really fun
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: like Zelda experience, I think Hyrule Warriors definitive additions the way to go, like it I just sat a really good time and I remember I beat the Twilight Princess DLC back in the day and it's just sick as fuck man to have a game where it combines all these characters, all the music sound like all the soundtracks, it's it's very satisfying actually now that I think about it the first one came out on the Wii U right?
- 27:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I have it downloaded them because I I modded my way and there's this shop where you can just download anything for free that was on the shop, and I downloaded hyper warriors plus they had DLC right Had a ton of DLC.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I downloaded all that too.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I could test it out today if I want to you.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like I don't know how it runs, but I'm telling you right now, man, like the thing about the hack and slides is just like metric right where you keep leveling up your character, you get web better weapons, you can get better stats and
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: for sure we'll do.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, that's the main line that tendo discussion.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_00]: I reward you if you like it.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know if you don't like it.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what you have to say about it because I wish more of these major franchises had spin outs like Halo and everything else.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_00]: But let's talk about Pokemon.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: So before Legends EA came out,
- 27:57[SPEAKER_00]: tear a leak to finally got revealed because I forgot that they said this year ago that they were purposely going to wait until a certain moment in time this year and it just turns out it was going to be the month before Legends EA comes out and we saw essentially that like game freak and the people who work over there are still just as creative as ever in my opinion
- 28:24[SPEAKER_00]: with some of the ideas they have, whether execution and the development of obviously textures and now it's been very clear across the board voice acting with the fan base.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_00]: They had some really cool ideas, so I'll just go ahead and like spit some of the ideas I'll Brian, if I miss anything, let me know if you want to touch stop at one of them after I'm done and like talk about it, go ahead.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_00]: So I would say the biggest things that I saw were the legend's Galler region, where you can see the Dynamics or Gigant to Max Pokemon in the wild, and it looks epic.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_00]: I would tell you that if you're listening, you haven't seen this.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: Basically, it just looks like legends are keys to be completely honest when you're fighting, what's his name?
- 29:08[SPEAKER_00]: The fucking ice titan.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's the rock.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, obu, obu look.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_00]: When you fight the giant obu look,
- 29:17[SPEAKER_00]: with the, um, fucking coal fire Pokemon that I actually do like I'm forgetting the name of right now.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: I like that one, but I forgot its name.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's the one where it's in the background and it's like a giant one and they're fighting it, right?
- 29:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I like the idea of it too because that was going to take us back in time again, and I love the idea of like these like bare bones regions, and it kind of suits them anyways, and so they give us bare bones games in terms of detail, but I like legends, but I was saying reminds me of shadow of the colossus when you're just fighting these like, oh, yep, that's the vibe it gives me looked precisely like that.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_00]: That's actually true.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I like Legends Arcus a lot, so I think the Legends series needs to continue desperately.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_00]: Um, it's definitely going to because the sales of Legends EA have completely surpassed all expectations.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so all of our complaining and all the people getting a super mad online, you might as well just shut the fuck up.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's not going to change anything, but you should keep critiquing.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying critiques are good.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_00]: Not complaining over stupid shit.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_00]: Um,
- 30:21[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I think that game looks fine.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_00]: And then one of the other ideas, I'll try to make this faster, sorry, was a new game where I believe it was Sino and Ho and Region were connected with another region.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_00]: It was like a bigger, more MMO, liking game.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_00]: And in one of the test footage, or I'm sorry, test photos of what would have been probably footage for the Leaker.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: was the donzo.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think they were surfing or it's just the donzo in the water, but you could see through the water like the diving mechanic was going to come back.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_00]: The game looked like 2.5D if I'm correct.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like the BDSP remakes, but in terms of like in the lake, I'm sorry, more like let's go.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'll say that.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_00]: It looks more like let's go in terms of like,
- 31:09[SPEAKER_00]: uh... the art style and the way the camera looks uh... i thought that game looked really fucking sick and i love the idea behind it and then there is just like the leaks of scarlet and violet like they were planning on doing dinosaurs at one point or like making it more dinosaur focused and like i think for me i'm forgetting a lot brine because it's been so long as since i've looked at these uh... i think for me though it's just cool to see like the behind the scenes it really lets you know
- 31:39[SPEAKER_00]: uh... the struggles of development coming up with concepts pre-production i've already learned a lot as a halo fan if you look into all of the stuff that's come out about the halo games last ten years the amount of cut content and like concept ideas that would have been game changing but couldn't be done because of uh... crunch time and overtime and just uh... the hardware itself not being able to support it uh... it's very disappointing
- 32:05[SPEAKER_00]: So I think for me, it makes me more understanding, especially since like I really look into like how hard game development is and like all these documentaries essentially that I talk about the failed releases.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: It does make me feel bad for them to some degree, because according to, I don't know if it's been confirmed or not, but like legends EA's budget was like 30 million dollars and that is that is fucking nothing.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_00]: in this current day and age, but Brian, go ahead and tell me how you feel about everything.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man, what's the leaks?
- 32:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think as far as the leaks, I think the whole water thing with the Dodonzo looked really good and some of the screenshots we saw were really cool.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: I really feel like in this switch to era of Pokemon that we're going to be getting fairly soon.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't really count ZA because that is cross platform.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it was designed as a switch to
- 33:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, my bad dude, but no, it's my fan.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: I thought you were talking.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it was designed as a switch to game.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: So I want to see Game Freak in the Pokemon company make a game that's specifically for the switch to when I really feel like Gen 10 is gonna be make it or break it.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think they're at Pokemon's never gonna go down
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that's ever going to happen, but I think for a big chunk of people, Gen10 is a make it a break at moment.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_01]: And if they put out another lackluster unfinished game,
- 33:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think like shit's going to hit the fan and people are just going to be fed up.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_01]: There was already enough controversy with Scarlett and Violet.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_01]: I can't imagine that happening again.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm hopeful for the future, but with all the weeks, I feel like I haven't seen enough.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's mostly been concept art and a little bit of like screenshots of unfinished gameplay.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm hopeful for the future, but.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_01]: I really want them to step it up because when I look at other consoles and then I look at Pokemon it's like it's wild because I have a close friend who does not fuck with Nintendo at all and every time he sees me play Pokemon or he sees game play he's like people actually fucking like play this like genuinely like this is so I just want them to step it up.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like which friend is that like like what is in like, I'm sorry, I didn't even ask that question properly like is it like because he plays playstation is there is a different console station he plays playstation um he's not really like the biggest Pokemon fan he like knows about it obviously, but I was he seen clips of Z a and he's like that's wild, but this is like a 20 25 game and it cost $70 and
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's just mind blowing to him.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we'll talk about it at the legend and the Z8 part.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_00]: We'll just probably jump into that after this and jump.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm jumping around, I'm jumping around, but overall I'm just, I'm hoping they write the wrongs that they've done in the last couple years of, I don't think the Switch era overall was that great.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was easily probably their weakest generation out of all the other
- 35:37[SPEAKER_00]: I would argue that if the gimmick in Sword and Shield was just more mega's, no one would be bitching about that game.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_00]: There's nothing wrong with that game.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think visually Sword and Shield looks like a beefed up 3DS game.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, I know.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know it's not running on a 3DS.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: I know that.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: But just visually it does not look like go like a breath of the wild.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: That looks like I know that's what you game technically But that looks like a switch game.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: That looks like something that came out For it's time Pokemon's always behind and I'm like kind of getting burnt out on and I want them to release a game I don't want it to look like a fucking I don't know.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_01]: I just want it to look good, but it doesn't have to look over the top good Yeah, I think that's like my issue is
- 36:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like, sort of shields fine, but it does look like a glorify 3DS game, there's no doubt, like, why isn't there more textures and, like, on the trees, I remember the trees in the wild area, people are like, what the fuck is this?
- 36:39[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's, I think, like, legends, EA's a different thing beast and we'll get into that, but when I look at sort of shield, I'm just like, this game could have just used a little bit more time in the oven a little bit more polished, but that's the thing.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_00]: they don't polish their games and like it bothers the fuck out of me because i'm like all right are you just gonna keep making these 3d games that have like these great ideas but execution are very uh... like mid like they're not that great uh... and that's a thing um
- 37:17[SPEAKER_01]: the upcoming generation 10 is getting a extra year of development time and I don't know if that's specifically because of the backlash to that scarlin vila got but I know they did they respond you'd I know they know the controversy around it and they did give themselves an extra year so I'm really hoping we get something that's like better than what we're getting honestly
- 37:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think Pokemon means like the whole breath of the wild treatment too where it's like they go back You know, they build a game from the ground up.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_00]: They really focus on like these these kind of textures These kind of graphics and like kind of stick to it.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like They're just pushing out like college level like Fucking shit.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even I don't even know what to think anymore I am personally and I'm okay to admit it like it is what it is like
- 38:13[SPEAKER_00]: I look at my time to spend and value differently than other people, which is what we're going to get into when it comes to legends, EA and your friend talking about the price point, but I just think, I just don't think it's ever going to change.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I think I don't see how it does.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_00]: They're the number one IP in the world and probably 20% of what makes that IP what it is is the video games.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's actually the merch, the trading cards, it's actually everything else that makes Pokemon what it is as of today.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_00]: Don't get me wrong, the games help a lot.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: I honestly think they're burnt out on like making Pokemon games, but they print money.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: Why would you stop because Game Freak is totally capable of making beautiful games.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: I forgot that game that was announced at the PlayStation or Xbox, whatever.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_01]: They announced some Game Freak game and it looked absolutely stunning and you put that next to Pokemon and then
- 39:13[SPEAKER_01]: You could tell, nobody would ever guess that's the same company.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's absolutely mind-blowing.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_01]: So I honestly think they're just phoning in everything Pokemon related, they're doing what they got to do and they're making their money.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_01]: But I bet you most of the people involved, like, they're hard to not in it.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 39:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_00]: There are hards definitely not into it because you, you look at Scarlet and Violet, you know, just like, dude.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like, don't get me wrong.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_00]: I was really happy to play such a...
- 39:43[SPEAKER_00]: I was happy to play just like kind of a different like full switch game, even though it may not have looked like a switch game, like a good one.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_00]: I agree with what you said, like Sword and Shield is no doubt just like a game that almost feels like it could have been on the 3DS, but just couldn't handle it.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think there's any denying that.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_00]: And then you go to Let's Go.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_00]: And then you get Scarland Violet, which is like completely new.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_00]: Might have to turn a screen on because it's so dark in here now.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_00]: You look at Scarlett and Violet and go, okay, okay, this this is cool.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_00]: But then the trailer comes out and like what the fuck are those graphics like do you remember that first trailer.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_01]: I do I think I mean biggest beef with um Scarlett Violet other than glitches and visual Like problems was that it was it was um
- 40:36[SPEAKER_01]: announced as an open world game, but they still want you to go on a linear path because in any other open world game, you would suck scales to whatever your level you're at.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_01]: But in Scarland Violet, nope, there's still eight gyms and all the levels are going to be in that order.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: So if you want to make your way all the way to the last gym, it's going to be crazy levels.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: And if it was true open worlds, the levels would scale as you go.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like that would have made the game so much better, so much better.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_00]: I know there's other franchises that do it, but I think the Pokemon company is really struggling to
- 41:20[SPEAKER_00]: have like that power creep have like that kind of like you just said like a real a true balance.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_00]: So it's so funny you say that.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_00]: I explore the entire right side of the map in Scarlett and Violet.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_00]: I actually started collecting gyms backwards because of where I was at in levels.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like my Skellege urge was ready ready to go and kick ass.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I think they really are terrified to challenge us in like the actual, like, whether it's a being quest, whether it's the gym leaders, or just the trainers themselves.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_00]: Like, when you play something like Pokemon Radical Red, that game is fucking hard, dude, it's so hard.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not saying it needs a beat to that scale, but
- 42:08[SPEAKER_00]: The games are almost too easy, like they're almost like too easy.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_00]: And then Scarland, Violet, like you didn't even have to battle anyone.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_00]: You literally didn't have to battle a single train around side of the gems and the teams.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you remember that or not, but yeah, you have to think of it.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_01]: Because you just walk by him and you have to initiate the battle.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: We have to talk to them right?
- 42:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, as the first game ever that they didn't get, they got rid of the lock on like the eyes lock on system.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: I like the eyes lock on as annoying as it is sometimes.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's just Pokemon man.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_00]: want to train your seas you they battle that's what it is like and i don't think i battle any fucking trainers because i don't know it should the lock on things should never go that's just part of pokemon well it's crazy i remember at the time i was just excited to kind of like explore this quote unquote open world and i didn't really give a fuck about battling because i knew my skeleton was overpowered anyways
- 43:02[SPEAKER_00]: Luna, stop, can I just record a podcast and piece?
- 43:06[SPEAKER_00]: I got phone calls coming in, I got my internet connection is apparently unstable, I don't know how to do it.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: Let me or you, I thought it was going in.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_00]: It said my connection was unstable.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_00]: Regardless, I didn't care at the time, but playing Legend's EA, I was like, oh my god.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_00]: Like battling is so fucking fun.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_00]: I love it so much.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I'm battling.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I'm not that good at it.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like with Pokemon, I'm so used to battling like the way it is.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_01]: So changing it is really fun.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm having fun.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: There was a couple of those row magas that I think it was only one or two that I had to try a couple times.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like,
- 43:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not used to like having some sort of Challenge in a Pokemon.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's not that much.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's not that much challenge, but the fact that I had no Definitely a challenge.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like did you finish it yet?
- 43:56[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm towards the end.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'm at like ranked C or B. Oh, yeah, you haven't even done like the challenging part yet.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_01]: Oh Lord.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, is it like is it like Spoiler's click off is it like the A where you have to I don't even think I fall RCS and Z. I don't you have to catch everything to unlock that
- 44:15[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Arkeas, yeah, to do what?
- 44:19[SPEAKER_01]: How do you fight Arkeas in?
- 44:21[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, or you have to, you have to come, yeah, I think you have the 100% the game.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, see, that's why I didn't fight it.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_00]: That's why.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm talking about to finish the main quest for Legends EA.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there's a part where it couldn't be more obvious that it's challenging.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: You haven't done it yet.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_00]: You'll know when you're there.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_00]: No, I think about it because I didn't think about it in the moment.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_00]: They kind of go to the arqueous route where like the mood changes and like you have to get through this segment Nice.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_01]: I started going around to different Open areas or wild zones or whatever they're called and catch our catching everything so you get that little gold crown because I really want to catch everything No, I mean to you.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm actually
- 45:06[SPEAKER_00]: I've actually been having fun going back to the wild zones and trying to 100% of them.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_00]: I want the shiny jar.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_00]: Bad.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like, the fact that the odds you go from 4,000 to 1,000 is just a gigantic difference.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know some people probably don't think so, but trust me, it is.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's someone who's shiny hunted with full odds out of 8,000 and it's disgusting.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, 1,000 is great.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I would love to just kind of shiny hunt a little bit more.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_00]: I never have a friend who like farms for like eBay and shit.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_00]: that I don't have to work for, which is Alpha Fraugator and Alpha Shiny Charizard, which is cool, because their alphas are massive.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there's a beyond noticeable difference.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's so- Do you make total rely, or did you tell me you picked something else?
- 45:50[SPEAKER_01]: I don't remember.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_00]: No, total rely all day.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, that's what I thought.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't mind, make a Fraugator.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't know why they thought his hood couldn't be more like- like it literally sits like a toilet.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it's copium because toted out is one of my favorites, but I don't mind it.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't mind it either.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_00]: I've always wanted a water dragon fralligator, like I've always wanted him.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's had a such a great move full since I believe heart gold, definitely black and white.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_00]: He's just a badass Pokemon.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_00]: I love the whole line so much.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Totodile from the show to the toys, the only toy I've ever stolen my life that I still have.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_00]: I know this is crazy.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_00]: From a toys or us in Victorville, California, I still have till this day.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's just Totodile.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_00]: When golden silver first came out, I stole that shit.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_00]: You're a bad man, hell yeah, it's pretty much the only thing I've stolen ever, but I'm very proud to still have it and yeah, I don't think it's copium like when you use him he's a fucking badass he's the I think he's got the highest base or mega base static or attack stat in the game
- 47:03[SPEAKER_00]: When I, oh, that's the other thing.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_00]: We'll get into it.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_00]: We'll talk about legends.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yay now.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_00]: Fuck everything else.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_01]: We pretty much like walking in the ZEA.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we definitely get out of where we even had it.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we definitely walked into it.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's really good.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to talk about the price point now.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_00]: But price point is like, dude, I'm like 35, 40 hours in and I have no regrets about buying a game.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: What do you expect for like a, I know it's kind of a spin off.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of main line, but for a major Pokemon game, like I'm not surprised that it's $67 dollars.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's not shocking to me at all.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_01]: If it was 80, I'd be like, I don't know about this, but I'm not vision about the price point.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_00]: So here's my thing.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_00]: The game is focused on the Pokemon, the main quests, the side quests, the ranked battles.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_00]: uh, the battle system itself and the wild zones, right?
- 48:03[SPEAKER_00]: That's what you're buying this game for, and all of that is an easy eight or nine out of ten, because I did the ranked battles.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_00]: So one of the things that was announced before the game was released is that all the callos starters are now mega's, and all of their stones are going to be tied to being unlockable, not paid for unlockable because people making the argument that, oh, I have to
- 48:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like you all happen online membership, eat my ass.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_01]: And did you buy physical or digital digital?
- 48:36[SPEAKER_01]: I could have swore there was like a paper there that gave you like it was either seven or 14 days of free online.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_01]: So if you really want to bitch about it, grind and get it for free.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_00]: That's just, it's okay.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_00]: So here's the thing.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_00]: I could tell you firsthand, Brian, it's not even a grind.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_00]: I had Grinja in 45 minutes.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_00]: It took me 45 minutes to get his makeup stomp.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_01]: See, I haven't read here giving free online.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I think that argument is so fucking true.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_01]: You get seven days free.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_00]: There we go.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_00]: You get seven days.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_00]: Eat ass.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_00]: I, I don't know.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_00]: It personally you bought it as me because like,
- 49:16[SPEAKER_00]: When you think of all the other online games that people are playing today and paying for their stupid $20 costumes is like really like that's the stance you're going to take you're going to be mad That the games are asking you to play their fucking game mode just like so many other games before it halo three being one of them that I personally love like
- 49:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's always been a thing that people love to tie their multiplayer to unlockables.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's like Mario Kart, I'm sorry, Mario Combat.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_00]: Mario Combat?
- 49:44[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_00]: Mortal Kombat 1, I had to play the ranked mode to get a certain scorpion outfit that I wanted.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, ranked fighting games?
- 49:53[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty fucking stressful if you ask me.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_00]: But you don't see me bitch in about it going, oh, I had to have Xbox live for this, like my camera is really flicking up.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_00]: Um, it's so dark in my room.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I just, I really dislike that argument.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's such a cop out and then it made me really mad when I took 45 minutes.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_00]: And I wasn't using those Pokemon that I got from my friend.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_00]: I was using my starter, make a frowl gator that I play the whole game with, and uh, and uh, the Charmander you get to choose.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the Pokemon I use plus Dragonite and in 45 minutes I had my Megastone and they gave me to you right away That was a big thing people were really upset that you couldn't get those stones without Playing online, but I don't I don't think it was that big of a deal like you said I feel like 80% if not more of the people buying the game
- 50:45[SPEAKER_01]: are you have online and if you don't they literally give you seven days so art set seven days.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_01]: You got nothing complaining about seven days to live.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you can get yeah, I just think I personally am not about that argument.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's such a bit argument for people who can't fucking think straight.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_01]: The game has like always, I don't think it's a perfect
- 51:15[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's definitely worth it.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_00]: Did they cut corners?
- 51:18[SPEAKER_00]: Is there a lack of textures?
- 51:19[SPEAKER_00]: Am I finally on board with the fact that we need voice acting 100%?
- 51:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I'm with you guys.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk, let's fucking protest it.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_00]: I just think like,
- 51:31[SPEAKER_00]: when I look at Scarlet and Violet and I look at this grounded experience that's meant to try new things and like test out new systems.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think the game is a solid eight out of ten.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_00]: Now don't get me wrong.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_00]: Those two points that I'm taking away from it are the fact that there's like so one of the other arguments is
- 51:53[SPEAKER_00]: The fact that the buildings have painted on windows and stuff, I personally don't care about that because I wasn't playing this game to enter buildings.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_00]: I do think that there is an issue when you decorate or I'm sorry, when you clearly animated and designed very specific looking buildings and we can't go in them, we can't do anything with them.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even figure, I don't even know what the point of that is, like City Hall or I think I think that's what the building was.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_00]: You can't even go in there.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_00]: But the building looks like, hey, you should come in here.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_00]: Like it looks inviting like, hey, we design this specifically so you could.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought that was a little lame.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think the windows are that big of a deal, but something that I do not like about the game is that the world itself feels very bland and repetitive.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_01]: I know it takes place in one city, and you do go underground in the sewers for a couple parts of the game.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_01]: But overall, the city is,
- 52:47[SPEAKER_01]: not very diverse, it all kind of all feels samey to me, extremely samey.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I wish they would have put a little bit more time into making the city feel more vibrant.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_01]: And that's not, that has nothing to do with like the windows and stuff.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_01]: Just, I don't know, it all feels the same.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_00]: No, I, you and me were talking about that before the game came out, when the game was announced and, you know, we got the game play trailer.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_00]: completely agree with that argument still like I don't get me wrong.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_00]: I have enjoyed playing in the city and It did in some ways surpassed my expectations But the fact that we can't go outside to like the neighboring cities as well or like even just the area outside Something about it feels really wrong
- 53:39[SPEAKER_00]: And I can't shake that feeling and it doesn't ruin my experience by any means, but I hope that in terms of like a game being just made into a city like never comes back.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't I don't want that again.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_01]: I was kind of when I was really curious when they first announced that it was all going to be in one city.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, how are they going to have a variety of different Pokemon like how are they going to do that in a city like space and they kind of really just
- 54:03[SPEAKER_01]: made it happen they just said oh here's a wild area who knows what the fuck's inside a good look so and I don't
- 54:10[SPEAKER_01]: The world is very bland and when they first like I said when they first announced it it was going to be in one city I kind of at hope because I was like there's other games that take place in like one city for the most part GTA's one of them and I know this game is absolutely nothing like GTA but GTA's in one city and there's multiple areas that have their own like vibrant filling and they feel different and that memorable but this game You can go from one side of the map all the way to the other side and
- 54:38[SPEAKER_00]: it looks exactly the fucking same they might have a couple ice areas couple underground areas but for the most part it all looks the fucking same yeah i almost feels like they were afraid to take risk in like making the city look very different because i know it's based off Paris but like you didn't have to make the city look the same all around like maybe one city can like have a have a i mean you can't now because the region already exists i think that's the issue is that the region already exists and all that's around it
- 55:07[SPEAKER_00]: you know, grass areas, and if you look at the map.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_01]: But what if the city for the starting era, we couldn't even leave the city for the DLC.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_01]: When I saw that DLC trailer, I'm like, holy fuck, it's the same city.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_01]: They just made this guy black, and I'm like, that's pretty fucking bad.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I would love to be wrong, but I couldn't agree with you more as of right now.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_00]: Megadimensions doesn't really look all that impressive to me.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty disappointed that we didn't go to like some different like distortion world or... Is it 10 to 10?
- 55:41[SPEAKER_01]: Is it 10 to 10 or something?
- 55:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, dude, like honestly, they could have done something here and I don't know why they didn't.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, we'll have to play it and see what happens.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I read it wrong or if I am just stupid, but I could have swore when the DLC was first announced that they said it was coming out on the same day as the game.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I was kind of surprised on the day the game came out.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_01]: The DLC wasn't out.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_01]: I know I still have to beat the main game, but I thought it was coming out the same day.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know it was coming out December.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't have bought it.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_01]: I would have waited until December.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, you're definitely wrong in what you heard, but I think it's just because you can get the the the X and Y outfits like the neon pink and the neon blue outfits or whatever.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_00]: Those were day one.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I think like hearing day one just made you like fixate on that in terms of like, oh, when you look back at it.
- 56:36[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, day one, of course.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't say available 11 16 or whenever the game came out, I forgot the day, but 11, it didn't say the exact same day.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_00]: I could have swore I saw that now, it's just me that no, a lot more people would be mad of that too, if that was the case.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I don't know, the polka dex is fine, but we only have like 200 something Pokemon.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's tough because I do think that there's a lot of valid critiques out there.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think I think a lot of people have every reason to be fed up to some degree and, um,
- 57:14[SPEAKER_00]: It I just have a defeatist attitude man like I don't I don't think it's going to change.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't I think it wasn't for the battling being different.
- 57:24[SPEAKER_01]: I would not play.
- 57:24[SPEAKER_00]: I'll tell you what if the battling wasn't different.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_00]: This game would suck.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_00]: It would be a five out of 10.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_01]: I know that kind of the point of the legend series there.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_01]: changing aspects of prior game play and doing something different.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like it's where they can put in more creative ideas compared to the main series.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of the whole point of the legend sub series, but yeah, I can if it was just regular battling in ZAA, I would I would have stopped after 30 minutes.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_00]: I would have played the whole game, but I don't think it would have changed my mind on the game at all.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because some of like, for instance, Mal, make a fralligator's charm in his design, like comes from like the way he is in the overworld.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_00]: Like the game is more alive because of the way they've designed it with the battling system in mind, or like they can follow you run around with you, and then you can battle instantly, or, you know, like, this game relies on the battle system.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_00]: This game wouldn't exist without the battle system.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think they would have even bothered if they
- 58:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, it's the point of the legend series, but, no, no.
- 58:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's kind of hard to be positive about it, because I think that it's still a missed opportunity that they made this one of the futuristic game.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_00]: But that's the thing.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_00]: When you play it, like it being a sequel to X and Y with some of the ways that things are tied together towards the end, I'm sorry, at the end, is for me personally very satisfying,
- 58:52[SPEAKER_00]: I always thought X and Y story was like kind of gay, um, I actually didn't realize there was a side secret quest with the looker, uh, detective looker, I didn't even realize that was the thing back in the day.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so like looking back at that and then seeing how it's all connected to this and like what happens in this game, I was like really, really impressed and like really happy with it.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_00]: that like the story telling is good.
- 59:19[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't done all the side missions, but I can tell you right now, there's like fucking three side missions that made me really smile as a Pokemon fan.
- 59:28[SPEAKER_00]: One of them's meant to like be someone of like a haunting.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_00]: One of them's a bunch of Pokemon causing a racket and they just want something stupid and simple, but it's so cute and then also another one would involve trash.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_00]: So those are just three of like the hundred.
- 59:43[SPEAKER_00]: So if it can add
- 59:47[SPEAKER_00]: I would say they did their job and I think that's my take away for this game is that I think we're continuously moving forward to like the actual Pokemon feeling alive and not being so robotic and it makes me really happy.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's fine for what it is.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_01]: I would be a lot more upset if this was a switch to exclusive game.
- 1:00:08[SPEAKER_01]: But this was made as a switch one game.
- 1:00:11[SPEAKER_01]: This was made as a switch.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_01]: They just gave it a little
- 1:00:16[SPEAKER_01]: If this was a switch to only game and it released like this, I would be pretty upset.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_00]: But I still think we're doomed, but there's no doubt that this game was held back because the switch one and so is Metroid, you know, it's going to be held back.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:00:31[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't also believe that just because of that reason alone, like Generation 10's going to knock our socks off.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to be wrong, by the way.
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_00]: I want them to have their
- 1:00:42[SPEAKER_00]: all the shortcomings we've had.
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't see it happening then.
- 1:00:46[SPEAKER_00]: They're so focused on fucking suing power.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, yeah, I don't want it to like knock my socks off or blow my socks off or blow my cock off.
- 1:00:54[SPEAKER_01]: I just want something fucking respectable because a lot of the games on the entire switch era were like,
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_00]: pathetic if I'm being honest they were pretty fucking pathetic like in the world gaming that we live in now there's no excuse for a the biggest media franchise in the world to put out a game like that yeah i think it's almost disrespectful to like the OG creators and developers and then also the games themselves to keep releasing games like this that just feels so half-baked you know i just think it's
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_00]: And so, again, that's why I understand, like, hey, some critiques are extremely valid and, you know, I feel so bad for those fans because you can tell when someone like truly cares about Pokemon, but they're just simply fed up with like these, like bullshit games that should easily be more impactful and full of content, um, beautiful graphics like it's not that a game has to have beautiful graphics it's just like why not.
- 1:02:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like why wouldn't you want that building to have these crazy looking windows and the actual window Like they pop out and you know you got balconies like why wouldn't you want to give that detail to your fans?
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_00]: You're creating a world that you want them to Invest their time in and it doesn't feel like they're investing in us
- 1:02:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just feel like it's important to call them out on their bullshit when they do stuff like this because I see some people in the Pokemon community and they're just glazed glazed glazed.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_01]: They can do no wrong.
- 1:02:30[SPEAKER_01]: You're not like that.
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_01]: But I try not to be.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen people like that and it like I love Pokemon and I just want them to do better, man.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like I want the games to be like I said, I want them to blow my cock off, but I want them to be good.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_01]: I want them to be good.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_01]: I want
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Scarland Violet was like the star of the broke the camel's back and I really hope they learn from that and they put out something that's like decent for you, and 10.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think they need to look at the switch to patch for Scarland Violet.
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_00]: Look at legends, Arquise.
- 1:03:03[SPEAKER_00]: Look at let's go and go.
- 1:03:05[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, we did three.
- 1:03:06[SPEAKER_00]: We did some really impressive things here with these three games in their own way, but they all fall short and
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like, bring back Megas for good.
- 1:03:18[SPEAKER_00]: Don't ever get rid of it again.
- 1:03:20[SPEAKER_00]: But also make the game like a fucking hog, like make it a performance-based game with a really good story.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I just, I think the tough thing too is like, I almost don't care to see the turn-based system come back.
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_00]: And that's going to be really hard.
- 1:03:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still going to, I don't want you much to not go back, but yeah, I didn't even think about that for Gent and do I want to keep what we have in ZA.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think they'll keep what we have in ZA.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think their whole game series is set in stone being turned based.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't think they'll keep it.
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_01]: They'll keep it in legends where they have their experimental stuff.
- 1:04:03[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll go back to them.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, we probably are for sure.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't I don't see how we don't either But yeah, then the day I still like legends.
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, if you're if you're out there And you like the Pokedex like you like the book monitor and you love Megas and you love battling Like this game is still for you like if you but if you want Like a game that's in a showcase a console that should be like the most best graphics and performance you've ever seen
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_00]: hate to say it.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't even buy the game.
- 1:04:35[SPEAKER_00]: I would just wait until you can get a second ant copy off eBay for like a low price.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_01]: I like it for what it is overall.
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_01]: I don't hate it like some people, but it's a solid six or seven.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'm leaning more towards seven for me.
- 1:04:50[SPEAKER_01]: Did you say eight?
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's an eight for me again.
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like,
- 1:04:55[SPEAKER_00]: There's small moments in it that have been things I would have liked to see my entire life as a Pokemon fan, they do, that make things feel more realistic in terms of the interactions of the Pokemon.
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_00]: And then just again, the sequel connection, the Mega Evolutions have never felt so good.
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think some of the new ones are sick of shit.
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_00]: The ranked battling is fun, the battle systems create.
- 1:05:16[SPEAKER_00]: The game does get repetitive at times and I think it falls short because of that too.
- 1:05:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think you can go all day, but at the end of the day, it's like, you either like this or you don't.
- 1:05:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think I don't think there's a really a middle ground for a lot of people.
- 1:05:33[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 1:05:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's solid, six or seven for me, and no, everybody listening, that is not a six, seven joke, that's genuinely my opinion.
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_00]: And so, yeah, I think that's pretty much it, man.
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_00]: Polka Pia will wait for a little bit more details to come out, and then we'll kind of touch up on that.
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, now I'm not buying it.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like is it's on a key card?
- 1:05:56[SPEAKER_01]: $70 for a key card, Nintendo kiss my wide ass.
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really understand this whole hate on the key cards, because PC games have been that way since the Donut time.
- 1:06:06[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, this other company is doing something terrible, so it's okay if somebody else does not.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_01]: If I buy something, I want to own it, and I want it to be in the card.
- 1:06:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm not saying it's like, okay, I guess.
- 1:06:16[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, no, this is not new people are acting like it's like, I don't know, the apocalypse and it's like every single PC game you have.
- 1:06:25[SPEAKER_00]: Has a license to it.
- 1:06:26[SPEAKER_01]: I would rather than just keep it digital only than hand me a key card because I feel like key cards are straight up disrespectful.
- 1:06:34[SPEAKER_01]: You're not giving me a physical copy.
- 1:06:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's a bullshit fake empty cart like don't make a physical copy unless you're going to give me a physical copy.
- 1:06:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm okay with that.
- 1:06:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think that should be the standard note out like if it if it's not going to like be on the on the cartridge than why even bother like this isn't a PC.
- 1:06:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's always done this forever like why start this now.
- 1:06:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think I haven't even seen game play, but it doesn't look like it's worth $70.
- 1:07:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:07:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:07:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:07:08[SPEAKER_00]: I still really want the game.
- 1:07:10[SPEAKER_00]: There's something about it that really interests me.
- 1:07:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's just because it's fun.
- 1:07:14[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like it's really fun, but yeah, I mean, I'd like to see gameplay to make me feel more justified for that price point.
- 1:07:19[SPEAKER_00]: Because when they announce it, I was like, oh, this would be like a cool 40-50 bucks.
- 1:07:22[SPEAKER_00]: But it's not... Mario, when we're getting a trailer?
- 1:07:27[SPEAKER_00]: Is that what people said or something?
- 1:07:29[SPEAKER_01]: No, I think they said this week we're getting a trailer.
- 1:07:32[SPEAKER_01]: I want to say it's tomorrow.
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I didn't know that.
- 1:07:37[SPEAKER_00]: I guess it is coming out pretty soon so they probably want to showcase it so that way that 30th anniversary could maybe be focused on Gen 10 or something It's either tomorrow we're Friday and I don't think they put out trailers on Friday, so it has to be tomorrow How about this?
- 1:07:50[SPEAKER_00]: Just give me a Pokemon call a CM on the my fucking game cube Oh, I forgot about that.
- 1:07:54[SPEAKER_00]: Where are those?
- 1:07:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:07:57[SPEAKER_00]: They released a Chibi Robo Luigi's Mansion There's two more other ones that I don't remember
- 1:08:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think there's like one more that I'm forgetting.
- 1:08:09[SPEAKER_00]: But We need those games, man.
- 1:08:13[SPEAKER_00]: I want to play Coliseum.
- 1:08:14[SPEAKER_00]: So bad on my switch to.
- 1:08:16[SPEAKER_01]: I've never played it and I have like a little handheld emulator.
- 1:08:20[SPEAKER_01]: One that runs like pretty well, but those two games always have like emulation issues and like flickering.
- 1:08:25[SPEAKER_01]: So I've never like properly played them.
- 1:08:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm pretty excited to play the switch.
- 1:08:29[SPEAKER_00]: me too.
- 1:08:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'd rather have those honestly than a brand new bugling game.
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_00]: I know it sounds crazy, but that's just the truth about it.
- 1:08:36[SPEAKER_01]: I just wish they had an option to like fill the screen or stretch it or just do some, I don't hate those black bars on the side.
- 1:08:46[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:08:46[SPEAKER_01]: I like complaining about little nothing.
- 1:08:48[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, yeah, I just realized that.
- 1:08:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like you could plan about a lot of little
- 1:08:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like the fact that the switch to case has more text than on it than the switch.
- 1:08:58[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that one I can totally see is like a me bitching about nothing.
- 1:09:03[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I feel like the black bars on the screen is too.
- 1:09:06[SPEAKER_00]: But I think there should be an option though to make it full screen.
- 1:09:09[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm just talking about how the switch I bought.
- 1:09:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't buy the switch to game boxes because they look hideous.
- 1:09:16[SPEAKER_01]: So for the AI bought the switch one version and just bought the upgrade test.
- 1:09:20[SPEAKER_01]: Just because of the box art.
- 1:09:22[SPEAKER_00]: yeah, there you go.
- 1:09:26[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah, I don't know.
- 1:09:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's a long one.
- 1:09:30[SPEAKER_00]: What's a longer one.
- 1:09:31[SPEAKER_00]: But I guess it's just like a dark episode.
- 1:09:32[SPEAKER_00]: I know it.
- 1:09:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's nice to be realistic.
- 1:09:36[SPEAKER_00]: I, you know, I intended to be a lot more positive about legends.
- 1:09:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, to be honest with you.
- 1:09:42[SPEAKER_00]: But I think about it overall.
- 1:09:45[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of shadow.
- 1:09:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I know you you enjoyed it a lot more than me.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_01]: I liked it.
- 1:09:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's cool.
- 1:09:53[SPEAKER_00]: I just I don't know man like I'm I'm not the one changing the Pokemon franchise if someone else really wants to try that hard go ahead But I'm gonna just have fun with it.
- 1:10:03[SPEAKER_00]: I you know Pokemon
- 1:10:04[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Pokemon isn't like what I live and breathe.
- 1:10:07[SPEAKER_00]: You know, there's other games I play in terms of games.
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_00]: In terms of games, there's a lot of other games I can play and have a lot of fun with, like, I play Legends EA to have fun and not give a shit.
- 1:10:18[SPEAKER_00]: There's like high-row warriors.
- 1:10:20[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of Xbox games I play that are way more serious and, I think it's good to have a balance of both.
- 1:10:25[SPEAKER_00]: So, I think my argument sucks because I have something else I can go to.
- 1:10:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's a higher quality and I enjoy it a lot.
- 1:10:31[SPEAKER_00]: Whereas,
- 1:10:32[SPEAKER_00]: maybe switch users or just like, man, what the fuck?
- 1:10:36[SPEAKER_00]: Which I could understand that.
- 1:10:37[SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't imagine just being a switch owner.
- 1:10:41[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how I would do.
- 1:10:42[SPEAKER_01]: That's me.
- 1:10:43[SPEAKER_01]: There's just not, I just love the Nintendo IPs too much.
- 1:10:47[SPEAKER_01]: And when it comes to a lot of the other console IPs, I don't have a lot of experience with them.
- 1:10:53[SPEAKER_01]: I had a PlayStation 1 and 2.
- 1:10:55[SPEAKER_01]: I've never owned an Xbox.
- 1:10:57[SPEAKER_01]: I just never kept going with those consoles.
- 1:11:01[SPEAKER_00]: But, yeah, um, yeah, Brian will be back for the Metroid Prime discussion.
- 1:11:10[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to talk about that, like first impressions, doesn't even have to be a long episode.
- 1:11:14[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I think that'd be really cool.
- 1:11:16[SPEAKER_00]: Because it kind of goes hand in hand with this conversation of like, you know, like, what are we doing with these franchises?
- 1:11:22[SPEAKER_00]: Are they going to get the upgrades they deserve?
- 1:11:24[SPEAKER_00]: The switch to while it's not the most powerful console out there.
- 1:11:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's very successful.
- 1:11:29[SPEAKER_00]: It can do things that this which one can.
- 1:11:33[SPEAKER_00]: And so like I would love to see what Nintendo's future looks like.
- 1:11:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I think, you know, Metro Prime 4 is a Metroid Prime 4 is unfortunately going to hurt too a little bit from being developed for both consoles.
- 1:11:43[SPEAKER_00]: But I would love to see if they still kind of, you know, hit the home run here with the release of that game.
- 1:11:49[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll definitely talk about that.
- 1:11:51[SPEAKER_00]: And then I'd love to bring back like the music episode.
- 1:11:53[SPEAKER_00]: Talking about music throughout the year because this year has also been pretty jam packed
- 1:11:58[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I think that'd be really fun.
- 1:12:01[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, Brian, is there anything else you'd like to share before you take off?
- 1:12:05[SPEAKER_00]: No, I think we're going to share something.
- 1:12:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, I agree.
- 1:12:08[SPEAKER_00]: And sorry for some of the technical issues we had and just.
- 1:12:12[SPEAKER_00]: some of the interruptions, definitely throw off the episode for me a little bit, but I appreciate any of you for listening.
- 1:12:18[SPEAKER_00]: If you've made it this far, you are an absolute legend.
- 1:12:22[SPEAKER_00]: Can't wait to talk to you guys again soon about Warhammer, Space Marine, and Predator, the movie, and just so much other stuff.
- 1:12:28[SPEAKER_00]: So, thank you for listening and have a good day or night.
- 1:12:32[SPEAKER_00]: Peace.
- 1:12:34[SPEAKER_01]: Bye, have a beautiful time.
- 1:12:38[SPEAKER_00]: Bye, forget it.
