- 0:06Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome
- 0:09Speaker 1: on this kind of a rainy day today.
- 0:11Speaker 2: But yes, but to.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Tell you what we've got that well looking at that
- 0:15Speaker 1: we got against in here. It's card talk and we've
- 0:18Speaker 1: got not only Brad duneus.
- 0:20Speaker 2: But you brought a friend. Thank you for joining us
- 0:23Speaker 2: this morning every morning.
- 0:24Speaker 3: To Kevin, Hey, good morning, great love you this morning,
- 0:28Speaker 3: nice rainy morning.
- 0:29Speaker 2: It is it's April showers.
- 0:31Speaker 4: I drove as I drove into the dealership this morning,
- 0:33Speaker 4: there were two geese sitting in the in the flower
- 0:36Speaker 4: bed Kevin. And a few days ago Mark Haskell sent
- 0:39Speaker 4: me a picture as he was coming into services Toyota
- 0:43Speaker 4: of geese out in the front parking lot. Oh, I'm
- 0:46Speaker 4: not sure what's going on, but you know there's a
- 0:48Speaker 4: kind of a pond over there behind the Walgreens. Yes,
- 0:51Speaker 4: and so they fly over and into that pond a
- 0:55Speaker 4: lot and I think they they must like our lead
- 0:58Speaker 4: certified Toyota for something.
- 1:01Speaker 3: And uh, we've learned the last few years we don't
- 1:04Speaker 3: turn down any rain anytime.
- 1:06Speaker 4: No, this is actually awesome today with the nice consistent Uh.
- 1:11Speaker 2: It is you know rain.
- 1:12Speaker 4: I know the the ponds out at the rancher still
- 1:15Speaker 4: have good water in them, but we definitely need need
- 1:18Speaker 4: to find her all full.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Yeah they're full, they're full. Okay today yeah today.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Okay, Well, but they are getting there now, so it's
- 1:30Speaker 4: beautiful to have that. We wrapped up a great march
- 1:33Speaker 4: at the dealership uh Strong US vehicle sales and high
- 1:37Speaker 4: demand for new toyotas.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Yeah, we're excited.
- 1:40Speaker 4: This afternoon for the Bartilesville Educator Hall of Fame. I
- 1:43Speaker 4: got this at four at the Community Center. We're honoring
- 1:47Speaker 4: Cheryl Finterest, Jane Sears, Cheryl Wansdown and Legacy and ductee
- 1:52Speaker 4: Betty Jane Johnson. That's a great group of Kevin, isn't
- 1:55Speaker 4: it it is? I mean, and people that have been
- 1:57Speaker 4: involved in our community will be out there. And thanks
- 2:01Speaker 4: to all the sponsors there and to Blair Ellis who
- 2:04Speaker 4: runs the She does a great job with the Barswell
- 2:08Speaker 4: Public School Foundation which does so much for our community
- 2:12Speaker 4: and the schools here.
- 2:15Speaker 2: And lots of interest this week on tariffs.
- 2:19Speaker 3: I was gonna ask a few questions about that because
- 2:22Speaker 3: the price.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Of vehicles and everything else.
- 2:25Speaker 4: You know what, Toyoda we had a meeting yesterday and
- 2:29Speaker 4: it's been reported on basically is right now, is telling
- 2:34Speaker 4: us they're going to keep shipping vehicles, manufacturing them doing
- 2:37Speaker 4: what they do. They they have the strongest balance sheet
- 2:40Speaker 4: in the industry, and they don't you know, they and
- 2:43Speaker 4: the carbons can't just adjust at a whim, I know,
- 2:46Speaker 4: And and.
- 2:48Speaker 2: So they're going to play it out.
- 2:49Speaker 4: They look at it as an opportunity to actually gain
- 2:52Speaker 4: market share and to grow the business, and I'm super
- 2:55Speaker 4: excited about that. They continue to plan to building vehicles
- 2:59Speaker 4: for us. They don't plan to raise prices at this point,
- 3:01Speaker 4: so you know, they're just going to be how it goes.
- 3:05Speaker 4: And that's probably a decent plan because you don't really know.
- 3:09Speaker 4: We're still a lot of uncertainty on the what they
- 3:11Speaker 4: call the stacking of these things and how multiple tariffs work.
- 3:17Speaker 4: And you know, I would think it's unlikely they stack
- 3:20Speaker 4: up on a part that might move borders a few
- 3:24Speaker 4: times and then get in a final assembly vehicle and
- 3:26Speaker 4: then move again, and.
- 3:28Speaker 2: You know, it just seems like that's that's uh.
- 3:32Speaker 3: We I did some research a couple of days ago
- 3:36Speaker 3: on the vehicles. Of course, Toyota has manufacturing facilities assembly
- 3:42Speaker 3: assembly people need, there's there's a difference in assembly and manufacturing.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Right both.
- 3:49Speaker 3: I know, I know, but I did a lot of them,
- 3:53Speaker 3: and some of the domestic brands, some of the whatever.
- 3:57Speaker 2: But you know, they talk about all this.
- 3:59Speaker 3: And Toyota, I forgot where their their assembly plant is
- 4:03Speaker 3: in Tennessee.
- 4:04Speaker 2: They have one Innessee, Mississippi.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Correct, And some of the parts are made overseas.
- 4:11Speaker 2: I get that.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Of course, you can't find any vehicle practically, I'm not sure.
- 4:17Speaker 2: We'll think about it.
- 4:18Speaker 4: When you're gonna build say you're gonna build a I
- 4:21Speaker 4: don't know, a radio or an airbag or or some something.
- 4:26Speaker 4: You you're actually gonna need parts exactly right. I need
- 4:30Speaker 4: transistors and.
- 4:32Speaker 2: And you look at this stuff right in here.
- 4:34Speaker 4: And all this, and and so I'm gonna have to
- 4:36Speaker 4: have parts to make a part exactly and I'm gonna
- 4:39Speaker 4: assemble that. Toyota likes to have those those those kinds
- 4:43Speaker 4: of parts assembled real closely to their plants. Correct, So
- 4:47Speaker 4: efficient to have that right next to Like in San Antonio.
- 4:51Speaker 4: I've been to the Great Thunder plant they have down there,
- 4:55Speaker 4: and almost every assembly part is right next to the plant.
- 4:59Speaker 4: So it's a huge complex. It's very efficient. They don't
- 5:02Speaker 4: have to store a lot of parts that way, which
- 5:04Speaker 4: reduces the cost of the manufacturing and it's very efficient
- 5:09Speaker 4: on building the tundras.
- 5:10Speaker 3: And probably shipping is one of the higher cost of
- 5:13Speaker 3: things today.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Well that's that's true. There is a chacosta and shipping
- 5:18Speaker 4: and it is one of those things that anyway we fight,
- 5:22Speaker 4: especially with Toyota's you know, they supply on the ground.
- 5:26Speaker 2: It's still among the lowest in the industry because of
- 5:28Speaker 2: the high demand for Toyotas and you know, particularly.
- 5:32Speaker 3: For the hybrids right now, which is interesting and I've
- 5:36Speaker 3: heard more and more speaking of hybrids that that's the best,
- 5:43Speaker 3: the best way to go about today's world.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Well it is.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Well, it gives a lot of great benefits to the
- 5:53Speaker 4: consumer and the driver, and you get better fuel economy,
- 5:56Speaker 4: get you still have power and performance and you you know,
- 6:00Speaker 4: and you're not tethered to a charger, which is difficult
- 6:04Speaker 4: when there isn't a large infrastructure a charging stage, live
- 6:07Speaker 4: in a rural area, the or you're traveling along way
- 6:12Speaker 4: you know. But these this the other side of it
- 6:15Speaker 4: is if you want to reduce carbon across in you know,
- 6:18Speaker 4: a world, and you have millions of combustion engine vehicles and.
- 6:23Speaker 2: It's going to take time to replace them.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Toyota was not was really the only that didn't jump
- 6:31Speaker 3: one hundred percent into the EV system.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Yeah, well, they understood that you could that you can
- 6:39Speaker 4: build a lot more hybrids than electric vehicles with the
- 6:43Speaker 4: resources we have, because it takes a lot of you know,
- 6:46Speaker 4: rare rent holes and things to make an electric vehicle,
- 6:49Speaker 4: and hybrids take a little less. And and so through
- 6:52Speaker 4: is they believe you can actually reduce more carbon if
- 6:55Speaker 4: that's your goal, or reduce consumption of castoline. I don't
- 7:00Speaker 4: know what you're after there necessarily, but you're you know,
- 7:02Speaker 4: you want to be more efficient and build better vehicles,
- 7:05Speaker 4: and that's that's what Toyota does.
- 7:07Speaker 2: That's the way they did.
- 7:08Speaker 3: It looks like is the way a lot of them
- 7:12Speaker 3: are going back to now. And they didn't buy all
- 7:14Speaker 3: into it.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Yeah, whe turns out to be the best system.
- 7:19Speaker 4: And that's an example of how they just didn't adjust
- 7:23Speaker 4: too quickly to something that that might not pan out.
- 7:27Speaker 4: They invested in electric because we have them, we have
- 7:29Speaker 4: I sell them today. We were great BZ four X.
- 7:32Speaker 4: We're coming with more electric vehicles and believe me, Toyota
- 7:36Speaker 4: will be a player in the in the EV market.
- 7:41Speaker 2: They they they make a great vehicle.
- 7:45Speaker 4: The we talked about what they manufacture in the US,
- 7:48Speaker 4: and you know as symbol or fully manufactured Camery, Corolla, Corolla,
- 7:52Speaker 4: Cross Highlander, Grand Highlanders, rab Force, Aquaias, Tundras and Siennas.
- 7:57Speaker 4: So a good spectrum of our vehicles. And right now
- 8:01Speaker 4: there's great lease deals on Toyotas. Everybody's hearing about the
- 8:05Speaker 4: rising prices and high interest rates that are still there
- 8:08Speaker 4: a little bit. But when you look at a at
- 8:11Speaker 4: a Toyota and the leasing's not for everybody. And these
- 8:14Speaker 4: are unspecific vehicles, but for instance, a Tundra, a great
- 8:18Speaker 4: pickup truck SR five four by two crew Max vehicle
- 8:23Speaker 4: four hundred and ninety nine dollars a month, Kevin, and
- 8:27Speaker 4: that that's a great payment. Actually, we've got another great
- 8:32Speaker 4: one on Camray. This is a Camera l E, a
- 8:35Speaker 4: hybrid Camray twenty twenty five. Actually all Cameras now are
- 8:39Speaker 4: hybrid only two hundred and ninety nine dollars.
- 8:42Speaker 2: A still number one vehicle still well.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Actually RAB four is Toyota's best selling vehicle today. Yes, wow,
- 8:49Speaker 4: And the Toyota RAB four l E lease payment is
- 8:52Speaker 4: three thirty nine a month. There is some money do
- 8:55Speaker 4: at signing thirty nine ninety nine on the camera and
- 8:59Speaker 4: the have four and on the tundra it's forty nine
- 9:02Speaker 4: ninety nine. But we can those are just examples and
- 9:06Speaker 4: we can help you, you know, so to speak, play
- 9:09Speaker 4: with those numbers. There's great tool on our website where
- 9:12Speaker 4: you can actually go and and compare a lease and
- 9:15Speaker 4: a purchase and look at the incentives, use our simple price,
- 9:19Speaker 4: market based pricing and seeing more and more people do
- 9:23Speaker 4: that as they are considering vehicles. It has been interesting
- 9:27Speaker 4: the last week. We've seen more more consumers asking about
- 9:30Speaker 4: the effects of tariffs and if it's gonna and you know,
- 9:34Speaker 4: there has been more a little bit of a surge.
- 9:37Speaker 4: I guess other people buying before the tariffs. So it
- 9:42Speaker 4: is really a good time to buy, I would think
- 9:45Speaker 4: before price adjustments happen, just you know, speaking across the
- 9:50Speaker 4: entire industry. As advice for folks, you know, if you
- 9:53Speaker 4: think about parts and you know, maintenance and vehicles and stuff,
- 9:57Speaker 4: you know a lot of prices are likely to go up.
- 10:00Speaker 2: And we're hopeful that this is not a long term. Yeah, no,
- 10:06Speaker 2: that for sure, at.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Least that's what we're all for. I don't and I
- 10:10Speaker 3: mean I don't even think the president is. I think
- 10:12Speaker 3: he's even.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Hopefully it's I know they everybody employment grows to the
- 10:17Speaker 4: point and exactly wages a gain and taxes go down.
- 10:21Speaker 2: I mean that's their plan, and that everybody comes to
- 10:25Speaker 2: the table and.
- 10:28Speaker 4: No, I think comes up with as usual. If we
- 10:30Speaker 4: are sincere partners, aligned, resilient, kaisen will all be superheroes,
- 10:36Speaker 4: right Sparks. Sparks will handle it.
- 10:38Speaker 3: But I know, as far as the tariffs, the biggest
- 10:42Speaker 3: thing people are talking about is vehicles.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it's been the target. It's a big ticket item
- 10:49Speaker 2: and and we'll see how that goes. But I'm glad.
- 10:53Speaker 4: So just to remind everybody, Toyota has not sam for now,
- 10:57Speaker 4: no price increases.
- 10:58Speaker 2: We've got a great good selection right now.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Say on the ground, we just ended the month when
- 11:03Speaker 4: they're typically at the end of a month, we don't
- 11:05Speaker 4: have that many and we did sell down to I
- 11:08Speaker 4: think about nine vehicles in stock at the very last
- 11:10Speaker 4: day of the month, but we got four more in yesterday.
- 11:13Speaker 4: There you go, and we go today we'll get our
- 11:16Speaker 4: new allocation. It happens twice a month with Toyota, and
- 11:21Speaker 4: we earn those cars based on what we've sold, and
- 11:24Speaker 4: so it's a mad race to try to get more.
- 11:27Speaker 4: And we've got we've got great stuff coming right now, Thunder, Tacoma, Forerunner,
- 11:33Speaker 4: land Cruiser, Sequoia, everything else that we've talked about before.
- 11:38Speaker 4: Even I got a Crown Insignia in yesterday, which is
- 11:41Speaker 4: what Kimberly's driving.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Now, that's a good one you should look at. That's
- 11:46Speaker 2: a great car.
- 11:46Speaker 4: It is, and used cars I mentioned, has been a
- 11:51Speaker 4: great business for us. It's just growing and I think
- 11:54Speaker 4: some of it is higher prices on the new cars.
- 11:57Speaker 4: People are looking at used options. So we are looking
- 12:02Speaker 4: to buy cars. If you've got something that you are
- 12:04Speaker 4: looking to sell, or an extra vehicle, or even if
- 12:07Speaker 4: you're training somewhere else, we'd be happy to make an
- 12:09Speaker 4: offer and make sure you get the most money for
- 12:11Speaker 4: your vehicle deal and we do have. We are Oklahoma's
- 12:16Speaker 4: oldest and we think the most trusted Toyota dealer, and
- 12:20Speaker 4: we're here to take care of you. We try to
- 12:22Speaker 4: make that complex purchase really simple and you know, fast,
- 12:26Speaker 4: feel good kind of experience. And our non commissioned sales
- 12:31Speaker 4: team they really are focused on the product they sell
- 12:34Speaker 4: and what you need and trying to match you up
- 12:36Speaker 4: with the right vehicle.
- 12:38Speaker 2: It is.
- 12:38Speaker 4: You really have to know the product these days to
- 12:41Speaker 4: sell to the others, because if they're not on the ground,
- 12:45Speaker 4: we're going to be talking about something that will be
- 12:47Speaker 4: here in a few weeks. And that's, you know, something
- 12:50Speaker 4: you kind of have imagination.
- 12:52Speaker 2: We've got.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Around here a long time. And we were talking baseball
- 13:00Speaker 3: this morning. Oh yeah, yeah, there's baseball season.
- 13:03Speaker 4: I was thinking about John John and what are we
- 13:06Speaker 4: going to do about that name?
- 13:11Speaker 2: I still.
- 13:14Speaker 4: The Dungeons fort Indians doesn't doesn't seem the same anymore.
- 13:19Speaker 2: All right, Dungeons it is now to be the Dungeons Indians.
- 13:23Speaker 2: That's true, to be Dungeons. We'll come up with a
- 13:27Speaker 2: how many years now eighty what, oh eighty six, eighty
- 13:32Speaker 2: six or seven years.
- 13:35Speaker 4: That's a long time and uh yeah, ninety five years
- 13:39Speaker 4: sewing cars in Oklahoma, Wow, and going into ninety six
- 13:43Speaker 4: and yeah, that's a long time.
- 13:46Speaker 2: And regenerations. And your grandfather.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Got the Toyota dealership and I know it was the
- 13:54Speaker 3: first one in the state.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Well it's actually it's the oldest. Now, there were some
- 13:58Speaker 2: others out there, but they what year was was I
- 14:00Speaker 2: was sixty eight or nineteen.
- 14:01Speaker 4: Sixty eight, it was it was out on the west
- 14:05Speaker 4: side of town by Murphy's and uh, we've got picture
- 14:09Speaker 4: of the dungeus Toyota out there and in its nineteen
- 14:15Speaker 4: seventies when the picture.
- 14:16Speaker 3: And basically the the vehicles they had then was only
- 14:22Speaker 3: a few.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Just a hand full of full.
- 14:26Speaker 4: And there was a I don't I try to name them,
- 14:30Speaker 4: but there were just two or three, and then they
- 14:33Speaker 4: came with a few more, you know, And and he
- 14:36Speaker 4: added other brands too. He added I think at one
- 14:39Speaker 4: point he had seven brands. He had a Suzu, oh really,
- 14:42Speaker 4: he had Deep and yeah, he had a lot of brands.
- 14:45Speaker 4: He was kind of a brand collector before that became
- 14:48Speaker 4: a thing.
- 14:49Speaker 2: And I think he did it mostly to upset four
- 14:54Speaker 2: collect He wanted to do it because he could, and
- 14:57Speaker 2: Ford didn't want him to do it.
- 14:59Speaker 4: And so that would that kind of challenge always appealed the.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Governor too. Yeah.
- 15:07Speaker 4: He was quite a quite a man and very visionary
- 15:10Speaker 4: and to the point where you know, I didn't really
- 15:13Speaker 4: I was a little bit of intimidated to follow in
- 15:16Speaker 4: his footsteps and didn't really want to when I was younger,
- 15:20Speaker 4: but you know, certainly when I was thirty five making
- 15:24Speaker 4: that decision. Looking back on it now, you know that
- 15:27Speaker 4: was about ninety five.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a good decision.
- 15:31Speaker 4: I'm glad we're you know that I came to Bartlesville
- 15:34Speaker 4: and that we kept this legacy going. You know, it's
- 15:37Speaker 4: something we'd like to make it to the fourth generation.
- 15:41Speaker 4: This last couple of weeks, I've been doing lots of
- 15:44Speaker 4: talking to people on the phone because we're I've got
- 15:47Speaker 4: to replace my Barbara Fry, who's our incredible office manager,
- 15:52Speaker 4: controller accountant type that runs runs that part of the business,
- 15:57Speaker 4: and a key member of the leadership team is retiring
- 15:59Speaker 4: and and she's already delayed that once for me and
- 16:04Speaker 4: need to help her get onto fishing more. But the
- 16:09Speaker 4: we've been I've been interviewing people and it's so amazing
- 16:12Speaker 4: to talk to people out there and this comes up
- 16:15Speaker 4: a lot. That's where I was going to the legacy
- 16:17Speaker 4: at the company, and it's so neat to talk such
- 16:20Speaker 4: quality people out there in our community and and it's
- 16:24Speaker 4: it's it's it's an interesting process.
- 16:26Speaker 2: And well they've been here ever since I've been here, well,
- 16:30Speaker 2: it's it's great.
- 16:31Speaker 4: I think that position if I think it's only had
- 16:36Speaker 4: since I've been here, that had three people in that
- 16:38Speaker 4: position in the last twenty five years, and before that,
- 16:42Speaker 4: I think there were only three more. So that's like
- 16:44Speaker 4: in Oklahoma and Bartlesville. Here the office manager role has
- 16:48Speaker 4: had six people have had that in eighty some years.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Pretty pretty neat, actually good important position. And you know
- 16:57Speaker 4: that that legacy. You know, I have the Joe and
- 17:01Speaker 4: fifty years of employment and working there for so long,
- 17:05Speaker 4: and you know he bakes cookies, fresh baked cookies every
- 17:09Speaker 4: morning for our customers and some employees, and then he
- 17:16Speaker 4: bakes popcorn at lunch, and yeah, of course he does
- 17:19Speaker 4: lots of other stuff too. But you know that's uh,
- 17:22Speaker 4: it's a great time come see us out there at
- 17:24Speaker 4: the dealership. We always hear from people, our vendors, customers.
- 17:29Speaker 4: You know, well, you guys are nice and really proud
- 17:33Speaker 4: of that. That was a we were a vendor yesterday
- 17:36Speaker 4: was complimenting us that, you know car gurus that we
- 17:39Speaker 4: you know, advertise on and put our cars on there.
- 17:42Speaker 4: And you know it's interesting they deal with all kinds
- 17:44Speaker 4: of dealers and they didn't have to say that exactly.
- 17:48Speaker 3: But you know, you've got a good You've got a
- 17:51Speaker 3: good line with Toyota, and it truly is.
- 17:57Speaker 2: I mean, I hate fool proof all amongst. They just
- 18:00Speaker 2: they just run well.
- 18:02Speaker 4: When they do have a problem too, they step up
- 18:04Speaker 4: like nobody else. I mean they've had and you know,
- 18:07Speaker 4: they have recalls and issues. I think back through the
- 18:10Speaker 4: years on the the there was a floorm addicts un
- 18:14Speaker 4: intended acceleration thing that happened, and Toyota responded so well
- 18:20Speaker 4: to that. They trained us all how to manage that.
- 18:23Speaker 4: You know, they they made sure their cars were safe.
- 18:26Speaker 4: There was In the last couple of years, there's been
- 18:29Speaker 4: some a few Taundras have had metal shavings end up
- 18:33Speaker 4: in the engines, and but rather than replacing, you know,
- 18:37Speaker 4: going at it and replacing part of it, Toyota is
- 18:40Speaker 4: sending a tire assembled engines, wow, to replace in every
- 18:45Speaker 4: one of those vehicles that has the problem.
- 18:48Speaker 2: And it's it's rare these things happened.
- 18:51Speaker 4: We have one that's on the retail, was traded in
- 18:53Speaker 4: just a couple of weeks ago, and it's got one
- 18:55Speaker 4: hundred and sixty thousand miles and drives like a dream.
- 18:58Speaker 2: So it, you know, but it's going to get a
- 19:00Speaker 2: brand new engine in it. The land Cruiser, they just
- 19:03Speaker 2: started making it again the last few years.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Yes, and that's we've you know, it's been really a
- 19:10Speaker 4: great Yeah. We sold a couple of them just this
- 19:14Speaker 4: last week or so. It is, you know, and it's
- 19:17Speaker 4: not quite what land Cruiser had kind of grown in
- 19:21Speaker 4: phases to be the flagship suv for Toyota. The previous one.
- 19:26Speaker 4: It started out more of like a a jeep. It
- 19:30Speaker 4: was one of those original Toyotas available in America. Yeah,
- 19:34Speaker 4: it was there in the in the sixties. Huh so,
- 19:38Speaker 4: but it looked it was more like a Willie's Ye
- 19:41Speaker 4: something like that. And it so it had evolved to
- 19:45Speaker 4: be this luxury suv and now it's kind of been
- 19:50Speaker 4: reset to somewhere in the middle.
- 19:52Speaker 2: I would say.
- 19:53Speaker 4: The Sequalia is actually the luxury suv too, are a little.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Larger U that land Cruiser is right there in the middle.
- 20:03Speaker 4: It's still a lot of car sixty seventy thousand dollars
- 20:07Speaker 4: in an MSRP, but it has lots of great technology.
- 20:11Speaker 4: You can get the low end one what they call
- 20:13Speaker 4: it nineteen fifty eight, around sixty thousand dollars, great technology,
- 20:18Speaker 4: great four by four.
- 20:19Speaker 2: It's really meant to be out there living your life.
- 20:23Speaker 4: Toyota built that one thinking people would buy it and
- 20:25Speaker 4: want to accessorize it themselves. Put new wheels, a lift
- 20:29Speaker 4: on it, some lights, you know how they do, and
- 20:32Speaker 4: you know, maybe tenths on top and all that stuff
- 20:36Speaker 4: that we see at the car shows. It's tempting. I
- 20:39Speaker 4: want to do it on my Squalia sometimes. But that, yeah,
- 20:45Speaker 4: land Cruiser has been great, so it's kind of a
- 20:47Speaker 4: blend there. And we've also just got a brand new
- 20:51Speaker 4: fur Erunner. Finally, we were kind of low on four
- 20:55Speaker 4: runners last year for a few months as they were
- 20:57Speaker 4: ramping up to build this all new one. It's the
- 20:59Speaker 4: first one in about twenty years, and that's fully redesigned
- 21:04Speaker 4: and it's got all the new stuff that's Aquia and
- 21:08Speaker 4: and the land Cruiser have to it's priced a little
- 21:11Speaker 4: bit lower than the land Cruiser. So now you've got,
- 21:15Speaker 4: you know, great suv choices there all the way rab
- 21:18Speaker 4: for Highland or the Forerunner, the land Cruiser, the Sequoia.
- 21:24Speaker 4: Great choices all performed differently and different sized vehicles, but
- 21:30Speaker 4: and different trim packages and styles that you may want.
- 21:34Speaker 4: And it's a great selection, really a good setup for
- 21:37Speaker 4: the suv line up. And of course Toya's still making
- 21:41Speaker 4: the great Sedans, Cameron and Corolla. You know, we we
- 21:45Speaker 4: they sell so fast, but they're you know still I
- 21:48Speaker 4: think when people ask me what car should I buy?
- 21:51Speaker 4: You know, and I just want something you know that's
- 21:54Speaker 4: going to last and have all the value. What would
- 21:58Speaker 4: I buy when I'm retired and and you don't want
- 22:03Speaker 4: to you know, I just want to be efficient and
- 22:05Speaker 4: my vehicle transportation, I'd probably be a Corolla, I know,
- 22:11Speaker 4: you know, there's such son nice and they are great value,
- 22:15Speaker 4: don't hardly lose any value.
- 22:17Speaker 2: They're just they make good vehicles. I know, I drive
- 22:23Speaker 2: one around and it's just h So, how how things
- 22:27Speaker 2: going in the radio business? Good? We've had.
- 22:32Speaker 3: We've had a good week and we had a big
- 22:33Speaker 3: farm show up and past week it was it was
- 22:38Speaker 3: a good it was one of our best shows was
- 22:41Speaker 3: and it was we had a good couple of days
- 22:43Speaker 3: there and so it went good and and so we
- 22:49Speaker 3: we had a good weekend and we've had a lot
- 22:51Speaker 3: of people already sign up for next year.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Ready to do it again. But our business has changed
- 22:59Speaker 2: over the years like everybody's and that we're on streaming.
- 23:03Speaker 3: I know that we have we have live video. We
- 23:07Speaker 3: have we've got sports not just on the radio, but
- 23:12Speaker 3: on live video. And actually the quality is.
- 23:15Speaker 2: I think it's escually awesome. Integreat staff. I mean, you
- 23:20Speaker 2: have more news people than any other radio station in
- 23:23Speaker 2: the state. Bro We have a lot of news people
- 23:26Speaker 2: and we try to cover a lot of things. And well,
- 23:30Speaker 2: thank you. I mean it's so important for Bartlesville and
- 23:32Speaker 2: we're we're we're all in in.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Our area Bartlesville, no wa Us, wherever it might be,
- 23:39Speaker 3: we're in and we want to serve them. Uh. Of course,
- 23:44Speaker 3: we've gotten in the video business. We're in the radio business.
- 23:46Speaker 3: That's our main business. We billboards, we're in the outdoor
- 23:50Speaker 3: business and in in billboards and.
- 23:54Speaker 2: So we.
- 23:56Speaker 3: And it's actually brought some people to us that normally
- 24:01Speaker 3: we wouldn't have had and we get to and now
- 24:04Speaker 3: they're on the radio too, and so we get to
- 24:06Speaker 3: talk to them about these things, and so that's that's
- 24:09Speaker 3: a good thing. And then a couple about a year
- 24:12Speaker 3: and a half two years ago, we hired a full
- 24:15Speaker 3: time digital person that takes care of twenty one digital
- 24:20Speaker 3: products that we sell and manage for people. And so
- 24:25Speaker 3: we're trying to do because some people, some businesses can't
- 24:33Speaker 3: have those people do it for them sure, and so
- 24:38Speaker 3: we want to be that person that can help them
- 24:40Speaker 3: and see where they want to get to go to.
- 24:42Speaker 4: And that's always changing. You've adapted to a whole new
- 24:45Speaker 4: media landswer exactly the car. We've done the same thing
- 24:48Speaker 4: in the card business, and you and your customers, I
- 24:53Speaker 4: know how hard it is. It's you know, we cars
- 24:57Speaker 4: are everywhere on the on the internet, Jack, go and
- 25:01Speaker 4: get a see you can search for a Corolla and
- 25:03Speaker 4: you're going to see him from you know, thousands of
- 25:07Speaker 4: miles away.
- 25:07Speaker 3: As I was just talking with a friend of mine
- 25:11Speaker 3: from Kentucky this morning that he has radio station, but
- 25:14Speaker 3: he also does something else.
- 25:17Speaker 2: The dashboard in the vehicles today.
- 25:23Speaker 3: I mean even from twenty twenty four to twenty twenty five,
- 25:26Speaker 3: they've completely changed.
- 25:28Speaker 2: They're changing and there's more and more in the dashboard.
- 25:32Speaker 3: And so he has a product now, and so we're
- 25:36Speaker 3: gonna talk to him about where. For example, if the
- 25:42Speaker 3: Dungeons commercial is playing on the radio, on the screen
- 25:48Speaker 3: interation it will come up and say Dungeons says zero
- 25:52Speaker 3: percent financing on.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Corollas whatever it might be me.
- 25:57Speaker 4: I got a video from William yesterday showing a brand
- 26:00Speaker 4: new car I won't name the brand model with where
- 26:05Speaker 4: you could see YouTube exactly on the screen that went
- 26:08Speaker 4: clear across the vehicle. And that sounds a little bit
- 26:11Speaker 4: dangerous to me, going want to watch YouTube while driving?
- 26:15Speaker 3: But I think the way I understand it, the way
- 26:18Speaker 3: I understood it while you're driving.
- 26:21Speaker 2: It won't. I'm sure that's the case now. I'm not
- 26:24Speaker 2: going to be one hundred percent sure, but I will.
- 26:26Speaker 4: I mean, we will eventually get to driver less or
- 26:30Speaker 4: cars that more drive themself than today.
- 26:32Speaker 3: And by the way, we won't mention the brand because
- 26:35Speaker 3: you sold it to us, but it does drive itself
- 26:38Speaker 3: in certain places.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Yes it does. No, that's right.
- 26:40Speaker 4: Blue crewse the Forward process that is a very similar
- 26:44Speaker 4: safety system, doesn't They don't quite go that as far
- 26:47Speaker 4: right now as Forward, but it's very close. And actually
- 26:50Speaker 4: I believe it's very comfortable to drive with and I was.
- 26:53Speaker 4: And actually, because Blue Cruise.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Is not available very much around us, it takes an
- 26:59Speaker 2: undivided for lane road. We're delighted for lane road. We
- 27:02Speaker 2: are totally out of time, aren't we Tom Just you
- 27:05Speaker 2: got about a minute or second. One minute's pretty neat
- 27:08Speaker 2: is It's all good stuff. And actually if it helps
- 27:12Speaker 2: you when you're tired, say it kind of keeps you
- 27:17Speaker 2: between the lanes. That is exactly my feeling on it.
- 27:20Speaker 2: It helps to keep it keep you going. And the
- 27:23Speaker 2: Toyota is the Toyota will have everything that anybody and
- 27:28Speaker 2: then some I promise you.
- 27:29Speaker 4: Thank you so much everybody for listening to us and
- 27:32Speaker 4: and we're so glad to be on your radio station, Kevin.
- 27:36Speaker 4: What you guys do for our community is awesome, and
- 27:40Speaker 4: that's part one of the themes of our show is
- 27:42Speaker 4: what the community.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Is and how rich it is and resources. But you
- 27:46Speaker 2: here being here and having media here and again we've
- 27:51Speaker 2: been partners a long time. We're going and thank you
- 27:55Speaker 2: all out there. Come see us. It done, just Toyota.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Thanks all right, you've been watching and listening to car
- 28:00Speaker 1: Talk right here on K one, the one you trust.
- 28:04Speaker 1: All right, stay tuned, we've got news coming up.
