- 0:00Welcome to our latest briefing on urban innovation
- 0:02and sustainability. So today, we're looking at
- 0:06a pretty major milestone in Dubai. Oh, definitely.
- 0:10It was the recent high -level tour of Al -Shera,
- 0:13which is the new headquarters for DEWA, the Dubai
- 0:17Electricity and Water Authority. It was quite
- 0:20a momentous gathering. Senior officials and ministers
- 0:23toured what can really only be described as an
- 0:26architectural masterpiece. Absolutely. It's actually
- 0:31the tallest, largest, and smartest net positive
- 0:34government building in the world. It really is
- 0:38a remarkable feat. During the visit, the delegation
- 0:41was briefed on DEWA's strategic milestones, including
- 0:44their clean energy initiatives. Right. A standout
- 0:48mention was the 250 megawatt Hata hydroelectric
- 0:51power plant. It's actually the first pumped storage
- 0:54hydroelectric power plant in the Arabian Gulf
- 0:57region. And alongside that physical infrastructure,
- 1:00Dewa's digital transformation is totally reshaping
- 1:04the utility sector. Through their digital arm,
- 1:07Digital Dewa, they're integrating advanced AI
- 1:10into everything they do. Wow. Yeah, they even
- 1:14own the world's largest solar -powered green
- 1:17data center, according to Guinness World Records.
- 1:19And all of that technological prowess is built
- 1:22right into the walls of their new headquarters.
- 1:25Alshara introduces this really innovative concept
- 1:28for sustainable buildings. It's based on the
- 1:31integration of smart solutions within a comprehensive
- 1:34cognitive system. This system literally senses,
- 1:38analyzes, and responds to its environment. That
- 1:41cognitive approach is exactly what makes it the
- 1:44world's smartest government building. Yeah, for
- 1:46sure. It's all enabled by the Internet of Things,
- 1:49big data analytics, and AI. Speeding over 2 million
- 1:53square feet, it's designed to achieve top -tier
- 1:56sustainability standards, including LEED Platinum
- 1:59and Well Gold certifications. In the end, Alshara
- 2:02aims to establish a new global benchmark for
- 2:05net positive buildings. They actually generate
- 2:08more clean energy than they consume. At the same
- 2:11time, they provide a smart and sustainable working
- 2:14environment that places people right at its heart.
- 2:17It is truly a global model for future developments
- 2:20that combine AI, resource efficiency, sustainability,
- 2:24and quality of life. Now, here's a question we'd
- 2:27like you to think about. If our buildings can
- 2:29generate more clean energy than they consume
- 2:31while actively responding to our needs, how will
- 2:35this transform the way we design the cities of
- 2:37tomorrow?
