- 3:12Okay, So I got this crazy idea. I don't know of anybody this
- 3:17past week caught those free books from I think it's called reader appreciation Black Association
- 3:23reappreciation. First of all, thank you guys. I have discovered so many
- 3:30new authors, and some of them I'm going to have on my show next
- 3:34season season two, which I'm very excited for. But it gave me like,
- 3:39Hey, you know what, this would be cool if I do a
- 3:44buyer's guide, because people come to my job and it's like, hey girl,
- 3:49what you're reading today? Or pull me off the shelf something, And
- 3:53I'm thinking, you know what, since y'all asked, I'm going to deliver
- 3:58so I can create a slash of ten books. There are children's, there
- 4:02are young adults, there are poetry, there are self help and their actual
- 4:09fiction books. So you guys, look at this. This is a holiday
- 4:13buying guy for sc book gals and friends chat. So we're gonna go on
- 4:16the first slide. And the reason why this book is first, she guys,
- 4:20is because I am in the book myself along with all these beautiful women,
- 4:29and I think there's some brothers in there too. But this book is
- 4:31called Solently Hurting Inside Hurt No More Finding Love. This is book three of
- 4:39the Finding Love series. Nickname of this book all These Shades of Bread.
- 4:45It's a topic of black mental health and wellness in our visionary Queen Angela,
- 4:49who's our producer. She brought thirty nine talented poets and me from across the
- 4:58world and we our voices to poetry. But you guys, guess what.
- 5:03You need to jump on this one now because the book doesn't drop till December
- 5:09thirty first, but you can get it now and do your pre order for
- 5:14ninety nine cents through Amazon, So go ahead, jump on it. We
- 5:21talk about how we found love after everything that we have gone through. And
- 5:26no, it doesn't actually have to mean love of a man or love of
- 5:31a mate. It could be self love or finding yourself again. So write
- 5:38the title silently hurting a side hurt no more Finding Love Book three. Okay,
- 5:46so we're gonna go to our next side, you guys, and this
- 5:49one I think you guys mean like a little bit too, so you know
- 5:54I had to bring the spice, of course, but you guys, this
- 5:58one brings she missed thee thriller, suspense, and a quick read. Okay,
- 6:04so I got two by this author right here. This author inboxed me
- 6:10and say, hey, how about you try out my book? And I
- 6:12say, you know what, I'm gonna give it a try, but I'm
- 6:14gonna do you better. I'm gonna put it on my holiday buying guy so
- 6:17my friends can try it with you. So the first one, this one's
- 6:20called Hotel Celeste Room two thirty eight. Okay, so we got Stone.
- 6:29He's a bouncing The bodyguard said, y'all know that means this this my candy,
- 6:33well mental eye candy, cause you can't physically see him unless you know,
- 6:38y'all know something I don't know. But he's been in South Angela gild
- 6:45and he hooks up with this famous club promoter and they serving drinks, fine
- 6:50whining. And then here's where it comes in, top shelf cocaine. Y'all,
- 6:59if you are a lover of earth fiction, but you want a little
- 7:02mystery, a little thriller, a little suspense that you don't have all day
- 7:08to sit down and read, check this one. Oh okay, Hotels are
- 7:13Less Room two thirty eight ninety nine cents on Amazon, and it's only an
- 7:18ebook form. But the next slide we're about to go to is part two.
- 7:26This call Hotels are Less. We're going down to the first floor's room
- 7:30one forty six. This one just came out this past June, and you
- 7:34guys, it's the same exact thing. Mystery, thriller, suspense short stories.
- 7:43Okay, so now we got Shade Adobe day together their roommates, Okay,
- 7:48they went to the university together and they chemistry majors. But guess what
- 7:55they came out with This crazy druggy guy that's like hallucinogenic and it gives you
- 8:03that infort A Hoighy call in for it, Hi, and it keeps you
- 8:09there. But now you got a whole new water people that are coming for
- 8:16it because you can't have something like this and think you're gonna get away with
- 8:20it. So let's think of this. Think of if you guys, no
- 8:24power that's out right now. When homegirl found this new drug and her and
- 8:28Tommy started working together. That's your idea. Hotel Celeste one, room one
- 8:37ninety nine cents Amazon ebook only. Grab it. So next slide, you
- 8:45guys, this one. It's a little bit out of my genre, but
- 8:52I'm very happy that I read it. I kind of stopped reading young adults
- 8:56for a second, but then I came back to it. And this is
- 9:00by my podcast sister Black Diamond. Y'all know her. She has the turnouf
- 9:05the lights. Oh that's her candle commercial. But this she's actually an author
- 9:13also, so she's on here twice, you guys. She's bringing in a
- 9:18young adult era. So her book Entitle thirteen eighty Prospect Avenue, not another
- 9:24Bronx tail. This is for those young adults in your life. You're looking
- 9:28for those that are between the ages of twelve to sixteen. Okay, So
- 9:35after the mother of its parents, the younger sister Soap, Satin and Swedely
- 9:43are first taken by their crew. An uncle is shipped to this village.
- 9:46Okay, some facility for boys. Now y'all know that means they gotta go
- 9:54in survival mold, so which means they have to decide between the past their
- 10:00lives with the morals that was given to them by their appearance or the street
- 10:05knowledge. So many kids can can actually relate to this book in some way
- 10:11or another. So this is a great book to be a stalking stuffer for
- 10:16your teen Every year, I make sure that my daughter gets a book,
- 10:20even my son, and he's about to be turning twenty one. Happy birthday,
- 10:24Jeans. But start that tradition. Let's get literacy back in the African
- 10:31American community, not even African Americans. Let's just get literacy back in the
- 10:37color diversity. Let's get these kids into books. I'm telling you, it's
- 10:43a whole world of creativity. So here's your chance to start that in new
- 10:50tradition by grabbing this one. Thirteen eighty Prospect Avenue, not another Bronx sale,
- 10:58okay, by author Black Diamond. It was published two years ago,
- 11:03three years ago. But guess what, Like I always tell everybody, an
- 11:07old book is always a new book to someone, So e book two ninety
- 11:13nine. But if you want to get a paperback sixteen thirty cents. That's
- 11:20about a quarter of the price you pay for these games nowadays. And her
- 11:24books are found on Amazon, Walmart Online, and even her website at author
- 11:30black diamond dot com. So y'all grab that one. Okay, We're gonna
- 11:35go to one more before we take a break, So let's hit to the
- 11:39next slide. This one, Oh you guys, I think this might be
- 11:46the one that I get my baby. It's the series. It's called the
- 11:50Stacey Series. This one is also by author Black Diamond. Just is great
- 11:56for our children, okay, this genre of course, like I just said,
- 12:01children, it's a four books series. Okay. The first one that
- 12:05says she named me Stacy. Then there's Stacy f My Forever Mommy, a
- 12:13temporary home for Stacy, and then there's a coloring book and activity guide.
- 12:18So Stacy is shuffle between worlds when she becomes adopted. You know, social
- 12:28workers, lawyers, doctors, all of this is going on. And the
- 12:35reason why I chise this book is because it's also very dear to what me
- 12:39and my sisters are working with this holiday season. We're doing a toy drive.
- 12:48So and the toy drive is for those who are in the kindership kinship.
- 12:52You're thinking, what is that? Kinship is when you have the grandparents
- 13:00taking care of their grandkids because of other situations. Situations doesn't matter, but
- 13:05they're they're taking care of their grandkids. This is a great series. This
- 13:09would be able to help children adapt, to let them know that, guess
- 13:13what, someone loves you and you can overcome anything. So you guys again
- 13:20the Stacey series by author Black Diamond. It is available on Amazon, Woman
- 13:28Online and also at a website author black diamond dot com. So right now
- 13:33we're gonna take a break. You know, we gotta play some commercials and
- 13:37guess what. You can have your commercial on it too. Hit us up
- 13:41and we'll give you more inform me one two, it's my shine, It's
- 14:03not to live, it's welcome back. You guys, we're going to keep
- 14:45on going to our next side. And this one, Oh my god.
- 14:52I've had two of these authors on my show, okay, and it was
- 14:58so much fun. Short stories. If you notice, I am a big
- 15:03fan of short stories because it's something that I can read just like that.
- 15:07Okay, But don't get it wrong. Now, I love me a good
- 15:09novel. But these short stories that coming up nowadays, they give you the
- 15:16meat, potato, dessert, and your appetizer all together. It in fifteen
- 15:20minutes. That's what I'm talking about. So you guys grab this one.
- 15:26It's called a free Style Cipher. This is an anthology from a Facebook group
- 15:33where a bunch of ladies in the Facebook group and they always sent out these
- 15:37little prompts and they would come up with bull fletched stories. So it was
- 15:43like, what are we gonna do with these stories? One of them say,
- 15:48hey, let's put it in a book, and here we have the
- 15:50free Style Cipher. So I have a couple of these authors on my reading
- 15:58lists and a couple of them I've been on my show from other previous novels
- 16:02that they had. This one came out on September first, twenty twenty three.
- 16:07So, like I said, this is short stories that are about love,
- 16:14murder, deception, and redemption, but different stories all on the one
- 16:21pen. The name of their Facebook group is called that I See You Reading
- 16:26and Chatting. This came from their weekly challenge, So I challenge you guys
- 16:32to grab this one. Okay. It came out September first, so you
- 16:36know it's good and fresh. The e book by ninety nine, a paperback
- 16:42fourteen ninety nine, and then they also have it a hardcover, so you
- 16:48know it has to be good because I can't tell you how many African American
- 16:52novels or anthologies that I see in hard cover, but twenty four to ninety
- 16:56nine. Their books can be found at One and Amazon, and their genre
- 17:02is just African American fiction. Okay, so we're gonna head over to the
- 17:07next slide, you guys. This one is from my dear friend. Her
- 17:15name is Simone Doxy aka my cousin, and I thought that this would be
- 17:19a great way to build a relationship between a mother, a father, a
- 17:26parent, a guardian in that shop. So this is two books, you
- 17:30guys. One is for the child is one that's for the adult. It's
- 17:36called Understanding your millennial kid and kids. For you, it's called Understanding your

- 17:48tell you I got a twenty one year old and I got an eight year
- 17:52old. It's totly different. And this is a stepping stone to make those
- 18:02hard conversations easy, to help you to understand. Because when I was growing
- 18:07up and my son was growing up, social media wasn't really really big,
- 18:11especially for their age. Now I have an eight year old who knows more
- 18:15about youtubeer TikTok than I know sometimes, But instead of us attacking what's in
- 18:25front of us, let's embrace it and inform our kids and also inform ourself.
- 18:32This book came out July seventeenth of twenty twenty two, and it's still
- 18:37reads as a great source for parent and kids alike. Okay, independently published
- 18:45five dollars for an ebook, ten dollars in paperback. Okay, y'all grab
