- 0:00SPEAKER_01: All right, as we get ourselves out the door again, back to school.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: Remember, and I've said this before, I'll say it again.
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: You're getting into the busy time.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: There's gonna be buses, there's gonna be walkers.
- 0:08SPEAKER_01: It's still dark.
- 0:10SPEAKER_01: Has it been getting darker earlier this year?
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: Or is the calendar so I know the calendar's a little weird this year.
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: Normally, Labor Day would have been last weekend.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: But it was this weekend.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: And uh it just feels like it's been getting darker earlier and staying darker longer than it normally would this time of year.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: And I've already preached this.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: I think we're in for a hell of a winter.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: Oh, don't say that.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: That sounds I have to say it.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: That sounds terrible.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: No, I do.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: I think we're in for it.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: We had no real we had one teeny hot spell in summer.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: I mean, there were hot days, but it was like one teeny like where was the dog days of August?
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: That we didn't have 90 degree uh days all the way through.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: I took Lydia to the last day the West Elmira pool was open a week ago Sunday?
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: What uh the very well, whatever that date was.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: The last Sunday in August.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: That water was flipping frigid.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, yes.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: And I even when we went into Seneca Lake in August, and usually in August, okay, it starts to warm up.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: You you get to it near Balmy 60.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: No, no, but nowhere close to it.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Guys, I'm I'm telling you right now.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Well, don't say that because I within the past year bought a house without a garage, which sucks.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: I hate- Well, this is the second time.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, you used to have the car cover.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Yes, I hate not having a garage.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: And also, my car, my car battery, like on my phone, yeah, is completely busted.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: There's no recovering from this.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: It got so corroded inside of the key that's you know, you can buy a whole new one.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: They're not cheap, but you can get a whole new one.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: My car is so old, I don't want to do it.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: So, were you here when I had to break into my car?
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: So now I'm to the point where I thought about that this morning.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: It's a little chillier.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: We in order for me to have my remote car starter, my car has to be locked.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: Well, now I have that means I have to break into my car every single time I want to lock my car and the remote car starter.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: Because I mean, it sounds weird that I don't lock my car, but I'm like, I have nothing, nothing of value is ever in my car.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: If you break into my car, guess what you're gonna get?
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: A bunch of propel bottles.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Some reusable.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Oh, there's nothing of value in there, let me tell you.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Absolutely nothing of value.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: You're gonna get my friend Ashley's dog leash.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: Oh, and you're going to get still got that.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: I still have that.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Some workout clothes.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: Hers or yours?
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: Uh, my workout clothes.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: And her leash.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: I got it.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: But I told Zach, now that we have this cooler weather, because we felt it this morning, now that we have this, I'm gonna have to start locking it and breaking into my car every single day because I want to use my remote car starter.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Another thing that's happening is And you could just replace the fob.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: I mean, we could have this argument over with.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but at this point in time, like, how long is this car really gonna last?
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: What's throwing a hundred bucks at the thing at this point so you can be warm?
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: I wonder if that's one of those things that I can get on like Facebook Marketplace or something.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: No, absolutely not.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: They're coded to each vehicle.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: So that's why you'd have to contact Ford and be like, here's my VIN number.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: I wonder if it's even available because my car is a little bit more than a few years.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: And if it is on marketplace, your car is a minute away from being stolen.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: Which they'd bring back immediately anyway.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: Like nobody wants this car.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: This car has so many miles.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: You you will get nowhere with this car.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: You will literally make it every day.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: I pretty much am like Fred Flintstone and like on foot with this whole thing.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: But anyway, but here's my other idea.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: And I think this is a great idea.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: You know what today is?
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Today is the tax auction for houses where people haven't paid their taxes.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: Oh, is it really?
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: And there is a property that I am well aware of, and I had said I have this great idea.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: It's a little bit of a money-making scheme.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: I don't know if Corning would allow it, but the one thing that Corning Well, why not?
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: They have their own money-making scheme with that odd even parking.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Tell me about it.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: So let's go.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Let's hear it.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: So there is a very limited amount of garages in Corning.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: So what if I purchased one of these, totally excavated the whole thing, and then I got people, and then put a oddly enough that I have people that can knock down buildings.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: I wonder who that well, tell me off the air.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Uh, and then put up a four-bay garage, rent out three, probably three of them.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Zach said he doesn't care if he gets a bay or not.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: I'm like, really?
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: This is perfect.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: Why would this be a problem?
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Uh, I don't know if you're allowed to in the city of Corning.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: I really haven't gotten it.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Well, just make it look nice.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: Just don't make it look like a parking garage.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: No, it would definitely look like a nice garage because my other thought was, and then put an apartment on top of the garage.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: Oh, there you go.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Airbnb it.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Don't have to do it all the time.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Just do it whenever I want to do it.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: You can't, I can I just stop you for one minute.
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: You can't save enough money to get to New Orleans.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: How are you gonna get an excavator knocked out a property?
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: I mean, believe me, I'm you're giving someone a great idea that has$50,000 sitting around.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: That's the thing.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: With the tax auction, this is what my understanding is.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: Because that's only phase one.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: You have to have the cash ready up front, which I don't have.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: All right, can we get another hazy days remote for Allie?
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: She needs some cash up front right now.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Come on, just I mean, listen, the idea is great.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: The idea is great.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: It's only going to affect maybe four if it's a four-bay garage.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: It's only going to affect four people uh that are in close proximity because I'm not walking six blocks down to get to my car.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: Some people use these garages for things like it might be a little bit of storage or it might be an old-a boat or a car or something like that.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: It really is Or just not to get a not even parking ticket.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: So there is one.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Well, that too, but I think most people would be using them for a little bit more of the storage type thing.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: If you had it already and you were doing this, the practicality is totally there.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Like if you owned a house, you know how some people own a house and they own the property next to it?
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: If you had that, because this is what, a few doors down.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: This is in the neighborhood.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: Let's go with that.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: I I know exactly what you're talking about.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: I'll just do that.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: How about you be a little bit more anonymous?
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: I got you.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: You just can't help but tell people where I live, can you?
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: One, two, three.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: No.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: Jesus.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: So, yes, I see what you're doing, but the problem is, is if it was a situation where it was extended right onto yours, you might be a little easier to do it because you could do it all over some time.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: You'd have to buy the first you have to buy the place.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: Then you have to get it knocked down.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: Then you have to get the building supplies.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: You have to get the people.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: This is going to take years to pay off.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: Now, for somebody that owns the land around it or whatever, if they did it or if they had it already, that's a great idea.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: I wish I would have gotten into real estate earlier in my life.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: If there was one thing I could redo, it would be You'd become Ally Trump?
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Well, yeah, it would be something like that.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: Then that way I could because making money off of a garage, what do you gotta do?
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: Nothing.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: It's so easy.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: I mean, keep it insured.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: Yes, exactly.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: So, Neil's sick.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: The tax auction, but the tax auction is today.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: Does anybody want to let me borrow$50,000?
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: Just a quick little borrowing.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Just a little$50K.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Just because you love me.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: When the credit union says no, we ask you.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: Well, I didn't even try the credit union because what I'm hearing is that you have to have the money like today.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: Oh, you can do that with a credit union.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: I thought you had they're just gonna give me$50,000 today.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: They call it a note.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: Oh, I might have to do that.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: I might have to call the credit union after the show.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: I mean, you might get it.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: I can't guarantee they'll give you a note.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: I doubt it.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: You'd have to lean it against your house.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, not alone.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: Okay, this idea's done.
