- 0:00Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:03access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:43Hi, it's Adam here. And you're about to listen to a
- 0:46hypnosis session all about living a dream life.
- 0:51And I know that term gets thrown around quite a bit, but I was
- 0:56working with a client that was very, very competent, very
- 1:00intelligent, but had found themselves stuck in a bit of a
- 1:04rut where they can do certain things, they could get paid for
- 1:08certain things, but they weren't passionate about the things that
- 1:11they were doing. And this session, he uses
- 1:16elements of regression to go back to a time where they felt
- 1:20full of energy, full of enthusiasm, full of passion,
- 1:23full of optimism to harness that.
- 1:26And in NLP, we would call that anchoring.
- 1:29We want to identify that resourceful state, anchor that
- 1:32state and then enable it to be triggered, but also future paced
- 1:37at a context where it would be helpful.
- 1:41And then there's an element of timeline therapy.
- 1:44This particular client had a time when they felt very
- 1:49optimistic at a time when they were in Vegas.
- 1:51And in that time when they were in Vegas, it was there for a
- 1:55mastermind to pick the brains of people, get all these different
- 1:59strategies. So they felt optimistic there.
- 2:01But while they were there, they met up with a friend that was
- 2:04working with a very famous musician that had a mansion in
- 2:08Vegas. So when they were in Vegas, they
- 2:11got a sense of the randomness, but also the opportunities of
- 2:17what can happen when people really pursue a dream and, and
- 2:20impact the world. So I use that mansion as part of
- 2:24a, a symbol in many ways to do some timeline therapy.
- 2:29And the timeline therapy enables them to experience three
- 2:33different futures. So it's not quite like Scrooge
- 2:37in A Christmas Carol where it's kind of like the past, the
- 2:40present and the future. This is 3 different futures.
- 2:44Door 1 represents the future of the status quo, and the status
- 2:48quo is things going on as they have been going.
- 2:52And it's really important that you put that on the table
- 2:55because a great philosophy is that what you're not changing,
- 2:59you're choosing. And most people don't realize
- 3:01that if they just continue doing what they're doing, that that
- 3:04also isn't a choice. It is, of course, a choice to
- 3:07remain the same. So Door 1 is the same.
- 3:11It's their life as it is, continuing in that way, but
- 3:14starting to notice the consequences of that life with
- 3:18less passion, less enthusiasm. Door 2 is pretty much their life
- 3:24as it is, but with certain changes that would give them the
- 3:28ability to have more enthusiasm, more passion.
- 3:33Obviously their income would go up because when you're more
- 3:35passionate and enthusiastic about something, you do it with
- 3:38more intensity. You think about it more.
- 3:42You tend to work with clients or or people in a different way
- 3:45when you've got that level of enthusiasm.
- 3:47So that's door #2 is life as it is, but with the elevated
- 3:52enthusiasm and passion. And then Door 3 represents this
- 3:56Rockstar life, like if they took some real risks, if they did
- 4:00some real big changes, if they really leaned into that dream
- 4:04that they always had, what would that look like?
- 4:08And what's important is to entertain the possibility that
- 4:12what if Door 2 becomes a stepping stone to door three,
- 4:16that actually, if you take these wild risks, it can go well.
- 4:21But that's the equivalent of being in Vegas and putting your
- 4:23whole life savings on red and hoping that you double your
- 4:27money. That's a risky thing to do.
- 4:29So improving your life, having the fortress, having that
- 4:32security, and then taking risks to get the upside could be a
- 4:37more strategic way of doing things.
- 4:39And I don't make the choice for the client.
- 4:41I just give them the options. They can stay the same.
- 4:44They can make some small changes, or they can make some
- 4:47small changes that can lead to radical changes that would give
- 4:49them something that they consider a more fulfilling life
- 4:53for them. So there's a bit going on, but
- 4:56because it uses metaphor, it uses symbolism, it uses timeline
- 5:01therapy. This would also be beneficial
- 5:04that even if you didn't visit a Rockstarz mansion in in Vegas,
- 5:09it's just a symbol for something that represents the the
- 5:13trappings of success, the benefits of pursuing a dream.
- 5:17So there probably has been a time in your past where you felt
- 5:20very optimistic and very enthusiastic.
- 5:22Great. We can harness that.
- 5:24And there probably is an idea of what your life looks like if you
- 5:28don't change what it looks like, if there's more passion.
- 5:31And what if it looks like if you took some real risks and and
- 5:35pursued your dream. Life doesn't have to be being a
- 5:38Rockstar. That's just a metaphor for
- 5:41pursuing that thing that you kind of have an idea would be an
- 5:46amazing life for you. It was created for an individual
- 5:51client. If you like the idea of working
- 5:52with me directly, there will be a link in the description where
- 5:55you can schedule a free consultation course to explore
- 5:58working with me. You don't have to do that.
- 6:00You can just enjoy all of the free content that I I put out
- 6:04there in the world. But if you like the idea of
- 6:05working with me, that's how you would do it.
- 6:07Go into the description, book that free consultation call for
- 6:10now. And apologies.
- 6:12By the way, I've got a bit of a croaky voice, so if you hear my
- 6:15voice quaver a little bit Again, I do a lot of recordings, but
- 6:19all the recordings are real client sessions.
- 6:21So I can't just decide not to see a client because I've got a
- 6:24bit of a croaky voice. So they are authentic, they are
- 6:27real. So with that in mind, find a
- 6:31quiet, comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 6:33Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in and as you
- 7:24breathe in, breathe in that slow, long, relaxing breath and
- 7:32as you exhale, that's it. Just allow your eyelids to
- 7:35close, and as they close, feel a sense of release, breathing and
- 7:43relaxation and exhaling tension. That's it.
- 7:49And as you breathe in, breathe in deeper than you normally
- 7:57would. And as you exhale, just exhale
- 8:02for longer, breathing in that wonderful feeling of resourceful
- 8:08relaxation and releasing tension on that outward breath.
- 8:16I want you to scan your body for
- 8:29any clues of tension, stress. It might be tightness.
- 8:36It might be a sensation of aches.
- 8:44When a muscle is tense for a long period of time, it can feel
- 8:49tight or sore, almost like you're scanning your body from
- 8:56the very top of your head all the way down.
- 9:00Just check if there's any tension in your forehead, around
- 9:04your temple, around your mouth, your jaw, and each time you
- 9:13detect even an echo of tension, just decide on that outward
- 9:20breath that it can be released. Doesn't have to be released, it
- 9:28just can be released. And then scan lower, perhaps
- 9:34your neck and your shoulders. I want you to imagine a
- 9:43colourful inflatable balloon, kind of balloon that a small
- 9:49child might hold on a piece of string and just imagine how it
- 9:56would feel as if your head was as light as that inflatable
- 10:01balloon, almost like it's floating, and just release any
- 10:06tension around your neck and your shoulders because your head
- 10:11can just support itself. That's it.
- 10:17And then scan down and maybe there's tightness in a bicep or
- 10:23a forearm. Just allow your arms to feel
- 10:27limp, loose and heavy like the limbs of a puppet with no
- 10:32string. That's it.
- 10:39Another clue of tension is your breathing.
- 10:43Shallow breaths from your chest mean that there are subtle
- 10:47muscles that are tight that don't need to be tight.
- 10:50So take a really long outward breath, creating a vacuum in
- 10:58your diaphragm, and then when you breathe in, feel like you're
- 11:05breathing from the belly, not from the chest, as you allow all
- 11:10the muscles around everything connected to breathing to relax
- 11:17from your nostrils, your mouth, your windpipe, your chest, all
- 11:23the way down into your diaphragm.
- 11:25I want you to get to that rhythm where the breathing is happening
- 11:30for you. You don't need to force a breath
- 11:34in or force a breath out. Breathing's long, low, relaxing
- 11:42breaths. Deeper and deeper down.
- 11:46That's it. But you don't have to do
- 11:49anything. Your unconscious already knows
- 11:53how to breathe. You don't have to remember how
- 11:57to breathe when you sleep. So just imagine having the most
- 12:04relaxing sleep possible. Long, slow, deep breaths.
- 12:09That's it. And the deeper you breathe, the
- 12:15more relaxed you become. And the more relaxed you become,
- 12:20the deeper you breathe. And as your body relaxes, your
- 12:27imagination awakens. And I want you to imagine the
- 12:34bright lights of Vegas. Those bright lights could be the
- 12:43colourful lights, the bright light of the sun, and I want you
- 12:50to see that skyline like you're an adventurous bird flying in
- 12:57the sky. But I want you to seek out the
- 13:06two tallest buildings there, in the centre of the Strip, not
- 13:13near the Old Town, near the Stratosphere.
- 13:15I'm talking about the centre of the Strip, near the Bellagio.
- 13:23I want you to see the Vidara and the Aria, those two large
- 13:30reflective buildings just getting higher and higher and
- 13:36higher. I want you to imagine what it
- 13:40would be like to be a bird flying up to the very top of one
- 13:45of those buildings, maybe the suite in the Verdara or an
- 13:53elegant room in the Aria. And when you find the right one,
- 13:59just imagine being that bird that can fly through that
- 14:01window. Couldn't happen in reality, but
- 14:06this is just your imagination and the moment you fly through
- 14:12the window, you become you, but not you.
- 14:21On a day when you're feeling tired, stressed or worried, Feel
- 14:27like you. You're most relaxed and
- 14:31optimistic. I want you to imagine walking
- 14:46around that place and there's no one else but you.
- 14:51This whole suite is for you. I want you to see the stylish,
- 15:00elegant decor, the furniture, notice the quietness, comfort of
- 15:13that air conditioning, and I want you to see the incredible
- 15:19views through those tinted glass that enable you to see almost
- 15:29all of Vegas. That's it.
- 15:35And I want you to imagine it was a piece of furniture that you
- 15:45could sit on or lie on that enables you to look out at that
- 15:51impressive skyline. The skyline of not just the
- 15:57buildings, people below, cars and the freeway, but off in the
- 16:06distance, deserts and mountains. You can see so much and maybe
- 16:16you see a comfortable sofa, a reclining chair, or even a bed
- 16:22with a view. Just decide to make yourself
- 16:26relaxed on that piece of furniture, positioning your body
- 16:31in a way where you can feel relaxed.
- 16:35But see that view when you're at that place.
- 16:40Let me know about nodding your head.
- 16:45And just imagine allowing this pair, this sofa, this chair to
- 16:51take on all of your weight. Feel that you're sinking deeper
- 16:56down into that furniture, feeling so relaxed that you
- 17:01don't need any tension anywhere in your body.
- 17:06So don't be surprised if your jaw loosens, your arms and legs
- 17:11feel heavier and heavier. You're sleeping energy starts to
- 17:18become activated. You know that energy, the energy
- 17:25of just before you go to sleep or your eyelids feel heavy.
- 17:35Sometimes your head nods forward.
- 17:40That's it, Feeling deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 17:46And then imagine drifting off into a dreamlike sleep.
- 17:54And in that dreamlike sleep, I want you to imagine travelling
- 17:59back in time to a time in your past where you felt full of
- 18:10optimistic vibrations, that kind of positive, where you just know
- 18:18things are going to work out fine.
- 18:23A place where you had deep conviction in your abilities,
- 18:28motivation and desire to move forward.
- 18:34Maybe there was a time that it felt like a fresh start, a new
- 18:41chapter. I want you to go back to that
- 18:45memory, seeing how you were back then, paying attention to your
- 18:52vibe. And there are clues to a vibe,
- 18:59how you smile, how you breathe, glistening in your eyes and
- 19:06energy in your voice. And if you can see that time in
- 19:11the past where you vibrated that wonderful, resourceful energy,
- 19:16let me know by nodding your head.
- 19:21Then imagine playing the game we play as children of mimicry.
- 19:27I want you to mimic that version of you.
- 19:31Breathe the way they're breathing, smile the way they're
- 19:35smiling. Have the same level of energy.
- 19:45Mimic everything about them, how tense they are.
- 19:52When you feel you've got as close to it as you can, then
- 19:54step into that version of you like a final puzzle piece.
- 20:03Being placed in that perfect spot on the puzzle board.
- 20:09That's it. And I want you to feel you are
- 20:15reawakening all of the neural pathways connected to this
- 20:21vibration of energy. Call it a cocktail, a concoction
- 20:32of wonderful resources, the right amount of optimism,
- 20:38belief, motivation. I want you to feel then you are
- 20:47activating this concoction within you now.
- 20:56And from this place it's easy to make decisions because your
- 21:02standards are higher and you have belief that things will be
- 21:06fine. It's easy to say no to those
- 21:12things that don't align with who you are and what you want.
- 21:19I want you to imagine a shape somewhere in your body that is a
- 21:27representation of this feeling. Think of a three-dimensional
- 21:32shape, like a sphere, a cube, a pyramid.
- 21:40I don't want you to point to that location of where it feels
- 21:43like it is this feeling of vibration.
- 21:49That's it. Make that shape colourful and
- 21:54then make it glow. And then notice.
- 22:01Notice if it moves, because when people find a vibration, it's
- 22:09normally a dynamic motion like a rotation or pulsation, a
- 22:16frequency. And if the shape is moving, just
- 22:21make it move that way, faster, as fast as it can, before you
- 22:28get diminishing returns. Make it glow bigger, vibrate
- 22:33more. And whenever you think of that
- 22:39shape in that color, vibrating in that way, in that location,
- 22:44you will reactivate this wonderful feeling, a feeling of
- 22:52reservoirful optimism, a vibration of positivity.
- 23:08Feel that wonderful feeling and keep that glowing, moving shape
- 23:12with you as you imagine what it would be like to be teleported
- 23:21to the mansion of a rock star, but no one else is there.
- 23:28You've got the whole place to yourself.
- 23:33And because it's a mansion, there's big rooms and many
- 23:39rooms, and I want you to imagine finding the largest room.
- 23:47And maybe, maybe this room represents what it feels like to
- 23:57pursue a dream because a rock star ignored what they should
- 24:03do. They did what they wanted to do,
- 24:08they leaned into their passion, they became highly competent.
- 24:14They lived their dream. Why is it that children say they
- 24:22want to be rock stars and movie stars, footballers and athletes,
- 24:31but many of them end up doing things that they should do?
- 24:37We're told to do, not what they wanted to do.
- 24:44And in this place of passion and dreams, I want you to imagine
- 24:49there is a wall with three doors.
- 24:55Imagine standing in front of the first door.
- 24:57And when you're standing in front of that first door, let me
- 25:03know by nodding your head. And these could just be wooden
- 25:08doors, but this is the mansion of a rock star.
- 25:15They could be jewel encrusted doors.
- 25:20They could be made of mirrors. You get to decide.
- 25:25But the first door represents your life as it is now,
- 25:31continuing with the status quo. This is what happens if you
- 25:39carry on as you have been. As you open the door and walk
- 25:45through, you see yourself like you're someone else, carrying on
- 25:50with the life as you have been living it.
- 25:54See the level of avoidance, the self sabotage, the apathy of
- 26:05having all the knowledge but not the passion.
- 26:10See that you can get by. See that life is OK, but see
- 26:17something missing. As the months turn into years,
- 26:23you're smiling less, you're settling more.
- 26:31You can consider this an OK life, but you start to question
- 26:40whether an OK life is OK for you.
- 26:50See where it leads to kind of friendships, relationships,
- 26:57quality of life. Do you wake up each day with a
- 27:02spring in your stare, or do you just get by?
- 27:11And sometimes seeing yourself like someone else makes it so
- 27:17easy to know what to change. There's people you've known,
- 27:22friends and family members. Their life isn't right and it
- 27:28seems strange to you because if you were them for a week, you
- 27:31would change their life. But they don't see it because
- 27:36they're in it. So as you start to see your life
- 27:41as it is carrying on, don't be surprised if it becomes obvious
- 27:48what to change. Things you have been doing that
- 27:53you don't want to do anymore, and things you're not doing that
- 27:59you will start doing not because you have to, because you want
- 28:05to. Real value of seeing life as it
- 28:11is is not to keep it that way, but to know what to keep and
- 28:18what to change. And if you feel you've extracted
- 28:24that inside, let me know by nodding your head.
- 28:27That's it. To see that version of you
- 28:30walking backwards through that same first door and find
- 28:35yourself in that Rockstarz mansion, this time standing in
- 28:40front of the second door And the second door represents your life
- 28:52as it is now, with added passion and enthusiasm.
- 28:59This isn't everything changes. This is you're adding the
- 29:06essence, passion and enthusiasm. You may be living in the same
- 29:12place, doing the same kind of things, but you're doing it with
- 29:15a different vibration, a different energy, a different
- 29:20intensity. This is a future of tiny tweaks,
- 29:28but the right tweaks not shaking up your whole life, changing
- 29:33what is necessary to make it so much more fulfilling, so much
- 29:40more empowering for you to start to walk through that second door
- 29:51and again see yourself like you're someone else.
- 29:55But notice your vibration is different.
- 29:57Notice that shape glowing in that location, vibrating in that
- 30:02location. A lot of your life is the same,
- 30:08but with a different intensity, a different energy.
- 30:12Small changes at first. Sometimes small changes can take
- 30:19you to very different places. If you are on a boat in the sea
- 30:28and you changed the direction the boat was travelling by just
- 30:33one degree, after a year or two you'd be in an entirely
- 30:40different part of the world. A small change can lead to
- 30:45magical differences to look for what is slightly different.
- 30:55Maybe it's how you think about what you're doing.
- 30:59Maybe it's doing it from a place of thinking of the impact you
- 31:04will make beyond the benefit to you.
- 31:08The benefit becomes the side effect, not the function.
- 31:13Maybe it's creativity. There's just more ideas
- 31:19happening in this future. Maybe you're taking more risks.
- 31:26Maybe you believe in yourself more.
- 31:31See that futurist Days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months,
- 31:35months turn into years. And notice you can tell you're
- 31:41happier in this future. You're impacting the world more
- 31:46in this future. And some people believe that
- 31:53income is a reflection of the value you create in the world.
- 32:00And because you're creating more value in the world, in this
- 32:03future, see yourself with a higher income, a better quality
- 32:08of life. The money you make is evidence
- 32:16you're doing something important, which empowers you to
- 32:22make you want to do it even more.
- 32:28And if this future seems more appealing, more desirable, more
- 32:31fulfilling, let me know about nodding your head.
- 32:36Step into that version of you, just for a moment, just to feel
- 32:41how good it feels. Notice that vibration is still
- 32:47there, perhaps even more intense now, like trying on a piece of
- 32:53item in a clothing store. You're testing it to see if you
- 32:57like it, and if you like it now you know.
- 32:59And then imagine walking backwards through the second
- 33:03door and now standing in front of the third door in this
- 33:07Rockstarz mansion. And the third door.
- 33:14Let's call this a wild card. Let's call it shaking things up.
- 33:21This is a future not of small changes, but of radical changes.
- 33:29Big risks haul in, doing something that could lead you to
- 33:37a very different place. But it is a future even more
- 33:42fulfilment, even more passion, even more impact.
- 33:51So imagine walking through that third door, seeing yourself like
- 33:55you're someone else, seeing that future.
- 34:01Maybe it's something like a whole different career for you,
- 34:05a different business. Maybe you're living in a
- 34:10different part of the world. Maybe there's a different way of
- 34:14working, of being. Maybe you look different.
- 34:20Consider this an identity shift. This is the version you were
- 34:25always meant to be. You don't need permission to be
- 34:30this person, you can just decide it.
- 34:35This is the most authentic, true, empowered, emboldened you,
- 34:46the version of you with the most passion, the most enthusiasm,
- 34:50creating the most impact for the world.
- 34:56This is the Rockstar version of you.
- 35:01And you don't need to be a Rockstar to be a Rockstar of
- 35:03what you do and get a sense of what this looks like.
- 35:11You don't need to know all the details because the details
- 35:13don't exist, just an essence of what it could be.
- 35:19You come to a conclusion. What if door 2 is a bridge to
- 35:29door 3? Imagine walking back through
- 35:35door three with what feels like an easy choice.
- 35:43You can continue with life as it is.
- 35:48You can make changes that make you feel more passionate, to
- 35:52create a runway, A springboard into what could be your dream
- 35:58life. It's time to leave this
- 36:04Rockstarz mansion. Finding yourself back there in a
- 36:08high rise hotel, looking out over Vegas and deciding it's
- 36:13time to leave that place. Coming back to the present, so
- 36:18take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
