- 0:00Welcome to Voices of Life, a journey through
- 0:03faith, history, and the future of America as
- 0:08we move beyond her 250 -year story and into the
- 0:12chapters still being written. Today, we enter
- 0:17week six of our series, America After 250, The
- 0:22Story Continues. Our focus is one of the most
- 0:27important foundations of any nation. The family,
- 0:31its strength, its calling, its legacy, its future.
- 0:38Proverbs 22 .6 declares, Train up a child in
- 0:43the way he should go. A reminder that the destiny
- 0:47of a nation is shaped first in the heart of a
- 0:50home. And guiding us through this powerful message
- 0:54is our host, Pastor David. teacher, storyteller,
- 1:00and voice of clarity for families seeking direction
- 1:03in a changing world. Prepare your heart, prepare
- 1:09your mind, prepare your spirit as we explore
- 1:14the family after 250, what it means, why it matters,
- 1:20and how God is calling families to rise again.
- 1:26This is Voices of Life. This is week six, and
- 1:33now, Pastor David. Welcome to Voices of Life
- 1:44Podcasts, a ministry of the Church for Life,
- 1:47where faith, history, and the future of America
- 1:49meet. I'm Pastor David. Today begins week six
- 1:53of our series, America After 250. This story
- 1:57continues. Our theme today is the family after
- 2:01250. And the scripture, Proverbs 22, verse 6.
- 2:06250 years after America's founding, we pause
- 2:10to ask a question that echoes through every generation.
- 2:13What happens to a nation when its families forget
- 2:16their foundation? The answer is not found in
- 2:20politics, economics, or technology. It is found
- 2:23in the home, in the quiet places. where values
- 2:26are taught, where character is shaped, and where
- 2:30faith is spoken. Family is the seedbed of civilization.
- 2:33It is the first government. It is the first school,
- 2:37the first church. Every great revival begins
- 2:40not in the halls of power, but around the tables
- 2:44of families who choose to honor God. Proverbs
- 2:4822, verse 6 is not a suggestion. It is a divine
- 2:51strategy. It tells us that training begins early,
- 2:55continues daily, and bears fruit eternally. The
- 3:00Hebrew word for train carries the meaning of
- 3:03dedicate, to set apart, to prepare, to concentrate.
- 3:08When we train a child, we are not merely teaching
- 3:13behavior. We are dedicating destiny. We're shaping
- 3:17a worldview that will outlast trends and survive
- 3:21trials. Family is the first classroom of character.
- 3:25It is where truth is taught, values are shaped,
- 3:28and destiny is discovered. When families thrive,
- 3:31nations stand. When families falter, nations
- 3:35stumble. The family is not an invention of culture.
- 3:39It is a creation of God. From Adam and Eve to
- 3:43Abraham and Sarah, from Joseph and Mary to every
- 3:48home that bears his name. God has always worked
- 3:52through families to accomplish his purposes.
- 3:55Family is not merely biological. It is conventinal.
- 4:00It is God's design for generational continuity.
- 4:05Abraham was promised descendants, not institutions.
- 4:10God builds nations through families, not bureaucracies.
- 4:14The covenant of family is sacred. It binds hearts
- 4:17across generations. It teaches that love is not
- 4:21a feeling, it is a commitment. It reminds us
- 4:24that marriage is not a contract, it is a covenant.
- 4:29And covenant means permanence, purpose, and promise.
- 4:35When families understand covenant, they stop
- 4:38measuring success by possessions and start measuring
- 4:41it by faithfulness. They stop asking, what do
- 4:45we have? And begin asking, Who are we becoming?
- 4:51In colonial America, family was the center of
- 4:54life. Homes were the schools, the sanctuaries,
- 4:57the small economies. Parents taught scripture,
- 5:01trade, and civic duty. Children learned that
- 5:04freedom required discipline. The strength of
- 5:06the republic began at the dinner table. The founders
- 5:10understood that liberty without virtue would
- 5:13collapse. They believed that the home was the
- 5:18training ground for citizenship john adams wrote
- 5:21the foundation of national morality must be laid
- 5:25in private families he was right the republic
- 5:29was sustained by homes that honored god respected
- 5:32authority and valued education those early families
- 5:36were not perfect but they were purposeful they
- 5:40believed that raising children was not a burden
- 5:44it was a calling And today, many families are
- 5:47fragmented. Technology connects us globally,
- 5:49but disconnects us personally. We have replaced
- 5:51conversation with consumption. We have traded
- 5:55presence for performance. We have allowed schedules
- 5:58to replace Sabbath. The modern family often lives
- 6:03together, but grows apart. We share space, but
- 6:06not spirit. We share meals, but not meaning.
- 6:09We share devices, but not devotion. Renewal begins
- 6:14when families rediscover the sacred rhythm of
- 6:18togetherness. When we turn off the noise, sit
- 6:22at a table, and listen again to the voice of
- 6:25God and to one another. Fathers are not optional.
- 6:29They are foundational. They are called to lead
- 6:32with love, guide with wisdom, and protect with
- 6:36courage. A father's presence shapes identity.
- 6:40His absence leaves a void. In scripture, fathers
- 6:43were not passive observers. They were active
- 6:46teachers. They blessed their children, spoke
- 6:48destiny over them, and modeled faith through
- 6:52obedience. America's renewal must include a restoration
- 6:56of fatherhood. We need men who will stand in
- 6:59the gap, who will pray over their families, and
- 7:01who will not lead by dominance, but by devotion.
- 7:05A father's voice can silence fear. A father's
- 7:09faith can anchor generations. And a father's
- 7:11love, can heal wounds that time alone cannot.
- 7:16Mothers are the heart of the home. They are the
- 7:20nurturer, faith, model, compassion, and anchor
- 7:24stability. Their influence is quiet but powerful.
- 7:27The unseen force that holds generations together.
- 7:33From Hannah dedicating Samuel to Mary, treasuring
- 7:37the words of the angel, to countless mothers
- 7:40who have prayed, their children through storms
- 7:45the story of redemption is filled with the faith
- 7:48of women who refuse to give up when mothers are
- 7:51honored families flourish when mothers are silenced
- 7:54society suffers the voice of a godly mother is
- 7:58one of the most powerful sounds on earth every
- 8:03home is a ministry every meal is a communion
- 8:05every conversation is a Training up a child is
- 8:12not a one -time event. It is a lifelong calling.
- 8:15The family altar must be rebuilt. Prayer must
- 8:19return to the living room. Scripture must return
- 8:21to the breakfast table. And worship must return
- 8:25to the daily rhythm of life. When families make
- 8:28faith their foundation, they become living testimonies
- 8:33of grace. They become light in dark places and
- 8:38hope in hopelessness. and hope in hopeless times.
- 8:45We declare America's families will rise again.
- 8:49Homes will become holy ground. Parents will teach
- 8:52truth. Children will walk in wisdom. And Proverbs
- 8:5422, verse 6 will become the anthem of renewal.
- 8:59The Spirit of God is calling the families back
- 9:02to covenant, back to connection, back to compassion,
- 9:06and back to Christ. We lay down the foundation.
- 9:09Family is God's first institution. The cornerstone
- 9:13of culture and the classroom of character. The
- 9:15renewal of America begins with the renewal of
- 9:18the home. And renewal of the home begins with
- 9:20the return of faith. Generations are supposed
- 9:25to be connected, linked by memory, strengthened
- 9:29by shared experience, and united by purpose.
- 9:33But in America 250, but in america after two
- 9:37fifty many families feel a widening gap between
- 9:40generations parents and children often live in
- 9:43different worlds different values different expectations
- 9:46different pressures and different definitions
- 9:49of truth and yet proverbs twenty two verse six
- 9:53reminds us that The calling of family is generational.
- 9:57It is not about raising children for the moment.
- 9:59It is about shaping souls for a lifetime. The
- 10:02question before us is simple. How do we build
- 10:04a bridge strong enough to carry faith from one
- 10:07generation to another? Let's talk about legacy.
- 10:13The gift you send forward. Legacy is not what
- 10:16you leave behind. It is what you send forward.
- 10:19Every generation inherits something. Beliefs,
- 10:22habits, stories, wounds. strengths and expectations
- 10:25some inherit courage some inherit fear some inherit
- 10:30faith some inherit confusion legacy is the invisible
- 10:35architecture of the future it shapes how our
- 10:38children see god how they see themselves and
- 10:41how they see the world when proverb 22 verse
- 10:456 says train up a child in the way he should
- 10:48go it is speaking to legacy to the long arc of
- 10:54influence that stretches far beyond childhood.
- 10:57Legacy is not accidental. It is intentional.
- 11:00It is crafted through repetition, reinforcement,
- 11:02and example. And then it's sealed in love. A
- 11:08nation's future is not written by its politicians.
- 11:12It's written by its parents. Today's generational
- 11:16divide did not appear overnight. It grew slowly,
- 11:20quietly, and often unnoticed. Several forces
- 11:23widened the gap. Technology. Well, children now
- 11:27grow up in a digital world their parents never
- 11:29experienced. Screens replaced stories. Algorithms
- 11:32replaced elders. Entertainment replaced engagement.
- 11:36Even sometimes when they sit at a table, everybody's
- 11:39looking down at their phones, including the parents.
- 11:43Culture tells youth to reject tradition and tells
- 11:47elders to retire their influence. It celebrates
- 11:50independence but discourages inheritance. Let's
- 11:56look at busyness. Families are overscheduled,
- 11:59overcommitted, and underconnected. We have time
- 12:02for everything but each other. And then there's
- 12:05fear. Parents fear losing influence. Children
- 12:08fear disappointing expectations. Both fear...
- 12:12being misunderstood. The result? Generations
- 12:17that love each other deeply but understand each
- 12:19other poorly. But scripture offers a remedy.
- 12:23Malachi 4 verse 6 declares that God will turn
- 12:29the hearts of fathers to children and the hearts
- 12:32of children to fathers. That is not nostalgia.
- 12:35That is renewal. So let's talk about truth in
- 12:41a changing world. Truth does not change because
- 12:45times do, but the way we teach truth must adapt
- 12:48to a world our children inhabit. The early American
- 12:53family taught truth through daily scripture reading,
- 12:55shared labor, community worship, and constant
- 12:58conversations. Today's families must teach truth
- 13:02through intentional time. discernment in media,
- 13:07guided digital habits, and conversations that
- 13:10connect scripture to real life. Children need
- 13:14more than rules. They need reasons. They need
- 13:18to know not what is right, but why it is right.
- 13:25Truth must be taught relationally, not just informationally.
- 13:29A child trained in truth becomes an adult anchored
- 13:33in wisdom. I'm sure you've had parents that tell
- 13:37you stories from long ago. And stories do work
- 13:40very well. It's like a salesman comes up to you
- 13:43and tries to sell you a car. Well, I can give
- 13:46you the facts and the numbers, and there are
- 13:48people that just like that. But if I tell you
- 13:50a good story, stories sell. And the reason why
- 13:53is because facts tell, but stories sell. We have
- 13:56to sometimes listen to our parents' stories because
- 13:59there's some meaning, some lesson to be learned
- 14:02from that. And if you listen closely, you'll
- 14:04listen and you'll hear it. Now let's talk about
- 14:08the role of grandparents, the living archives.
- 14:11Grandparents are the living archives of faith.
- 14:13They carry stories that textbooks can't tell.
- 14:17They carry scars that sermons cannot explain.
- 14:20They carry wisdom that Google cannot provide.
- 14:24In America's early centuries, grandparents were
- 14:27central to the family life. They lived nearby,
- 14:30shared meals, told stories, reinforced values.
- 14:34Today, many grandparents feel sidelined, treated
- 14:38as optional instead of essential. But scripture
- 14:42paints a different picture. Psalm 78 says, We
- 14:46will tell the next generation the praiseworthy
- 14:49deeds of the Lord. Grandparents are the storytellers
- 14:53of God's faithfulness. They are bridges between
- 14:57memory and mission. They remind families where
- 15:00they came from so that they can understand where
- 15:02they are going. When grandparents speak, generations
- 15:05listen, and destinies shift. Let's talk about
- 15:12the family table. This is where generations meet.
- 15:17The family table is more than furniture, it is
- 15:20fellowship. It is where generations meet, where
- 15:23gratitude is spoken, where stories are shared,
- 15:25and where faith is passed down. In America's
- 15:28early years, the table was the center of the
- 15:31family life. Meals were moments of connection,
- 15:34conversation, and community. Today, many families
- 15:37eat separately, quickly, silently, and I said
- 15:41sometimes looking down at their phones. But renewal
- 15:44begins when the families reclaim the table. when
- 15:47parents ask questions the children share hearts
- 15:49when grandparents tell stories and scripture
- 15:52becomes part of the convention when parents ask
- 15:57questions when children share their hearts when
- 16:00grandparents tell stories when scripture becomes
- 16:03part of the conversation the table is where generations
- 16:07learn to understand each other it is where legacy
- 16:11becomes a lived experience and it's a place Where
- 16:16we should put our phones down and sit without
- 16:20them and look at one another and talk to one
- 16:23another and feel what the other person is feeling.
- 16:30The church and the family, we're the partners,
- 16:35not replacements. The church does not replace
- 16:38the family in any way. It reinforces it. The
- 16:41home is the first church. The church is... the
- 16:44extended family. When families and congregations
- 16:47work together, discipleship multiplies. Children
- 16:51grow faith. Parents grow in wisdom. Grandparents
- 16:54grow in purpose. But when families outsource
- 16:59spiritual formation entirely to the church, faith
- 17:04becomes fragile. The strongest faith is formed
- 17:07through partnership. Parents teaching at home,
- 17:09pastors teaching at church, and communities supporting
- 17:12both. A nation is strongest when its families
- 17:16and churches walk in unity. Purpose and truth.
- 17:21And here's the generational blessing, the passing
- 17:25of the torch. Psalm 145 verse 4 says, One generation
- 17:30shall praise your works to another. This is the
- 17:35rhythm of renewal. It is the passing of the torch.
- 17:37It is the handing down of faith, values, stories.
- 17:40and identity generational blessing is not automatic
- 17:43it is intentional it requires time conversation
- 17:48prayer example and consistency when generations
- 17:53worship together revival becomes inheritance
- 17:55when generations pray together faith becomes
- 17:59legacy when generations serve together Purpose
- 18:04becomes destiny. The generational blessing is
- 18:07the heartbeat of Proverbs 22, verse 6. And here's
- 18:11the prophetic declaration, the bridge will stand.
- 18:14We declare generations will connect, families
- 18:17will rediscover purpose, elders will mentor,
- 18:20youth will honor, and the bridge of legacy will
- 18:25stand strong. The Spirit of God is turning hearts
- 18:29again. He is restoring conversation. He is healing
- 18:32misunderstandings. He is rebuilding trust. He
- 18:34is renewing connection. The generational divide
- 18:37will not define America's future. The generational
- 18:42bridge will. So, we remember that renewal is
- 18:50generational. Faith must be transferred, not
- 18:53just taught. Legacy must be intentional, not
- 18:56accidental, and connection must be cultivated,
- 18:59not assumed. The future of America after 250
- 19:02depends on families who build bridges strong
- 19:05enough to carry from one generation to the next.
- 19:10Now let's reflect. When families shape society,
- 19:14every nation is shaped by its families, not by
- 19:18the institutions, not by the politics, not by
- 19:20its technology, but the values. that live inside
- 19:25that's home. We just spoke in the last little
- 19:29bit about the foundation of the family. We talked
- 19:32about the generational bridge. Now we're going
- 19:35to go into the cultural impact because the truth
- 19:40is simple. Families do not exist inside society.
- 19:43Society exists inside families. Every law, every
- 19:47school, every community, every tradition is downstream
- 19:50from the home. When families are strong, society
- 19:54is stable. When families are weak, society is
- 19:56fragile. Let's explore how the family shapes
- 19:58the world around it and how the world tries to
- 20:02reshape the family. The family is the cultural
- 20:07anchor. This culture is always changing, but
- 20:10the family is meant to keep it anchored. In America's
- 20:14early centuries, families taught discipline,
- 20:16respect, responsibility, and reverence. Children
- 20:19learn that freedom requires self -control. They
- 20:24learned that character mattered more than comfort.
- 20:28They learned that truth is not a suggestion,
- 20:31it was a standard. Today, culture often teaches
- 20:35the opposite. It celebrates impulse over integrity,
- 20:39emotion over wisdom, and convenience over commitment.
- 20:43But families can anchor culture by teaching values
- 20:46that do not shift with trends. A family that
- 20:49honors God becomes a lighthouse in a storm. A
- 20:52family that practices forgiveness becomes a refuge
- 20:55of fractured world. A family that lives with
- 20:59purpose becomes a compass for a confused generation.
- 21:04Culture may influence families, but families
- 21:06define culture. and the home the first classroom
- 21:12we mentioned that earlier education begins long
- 21:15before a child enters a school building it begins
- 21:19in the home in conversations and habits and expectations
- 21:22and examples the children see every day proverbs
- 21:2729 verse 6 reminds us that training is relational
- 21:30not institutional schools can teach information
- 21:33but families teach identity Schools can teach
- 21:38skills, but families teach character. Schools
- 21:41can teach facts, but families teach faith. In
- 21:46America, after 250, education must return to
- 21:50the original partnership, the home and the school
- 21:52working together, not competing with each other.
- 21:57Parents must be involved, engaged, informed.
- 22:00Children must be supported, encouraged, and guided.
- 22:06must be honored, respected, and empowered. When
- 22:09families take responsibility for education, children
- 22:12thrive academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
- 22:15Families are economic engines. They model stewardship,
- 22:20generosity, discipline, and diligence. In early
- 22:24America, children learn financial wisdom at home,
- 22:27how to save, how to work, how to give, how to
- 22:30manage resources with gratitude. Today, many
- 22:34families struggle financially, not only because
- 22:36of economic pressures, but because financial
- 22:38wisdom is no longer taught at home. It's not
- 22:41even taught in the schools. So we have a stewardship
- 22:44responsibility. Stewardship is a spiritual discipline.
- 22:49It teaches children that money is a tool, not
- 22:51a master. It teaches that generosity is a strength,
- 22:54not a weakness. And it teaches that diligence
- 22:56produces stability, not stress. When families
- 23:01honor God, With their resources, provisions follow.
- 23:06When families practice stewardship, peace follows.
- 23:09When families teach financial wisdom, future
- 23:12generations walk in stability. And the family
- 23:15and the media, we have to guard the gates, because
- 23:18media shapes minds, but families shape hearts.
- 23:23In America after 250, media is everywhere. Phones,
- 23:27screens, streams, feeds, notifications, endless
- 23:30content, podcasts. what you're listening to today.
- 23:33Children are disciplined by what they consume.
- 23:37Their worldview is shaped by what they watch.
- 23:40Their identity is influenced by what they hear.
- 23:43Families must guard the gates. Discernment is
- 23:47the firewall of faith. Boundaries are not restrictions.
- 23:50They are protections. Parents must teach children
- 23:53how to navigate media wisely, how to recognize
- 23:57truth, how to... reject deception, how to filter
- 24:01content, and how to guard their hearts. Media
- 24:06is powerful, but families are stronger. Media
- 24:11is charged through our Constitution to report
- 24:15the truth, to be a safeguard for government.
- 24:18But in today's media, many sensationalize, invent,
- 24:23they call it investigative reporting, they make
- 24:27up things, they take... segments and shape it
- 24:30into what they want. You have to be able to see
- 24:33through that. Now, there are some media outlets
- 24:35that do tell things just as they are and leave
- 24:38it to you to make the decision. And you know,
- 24:40that's the purest form of media. Report the facts.
- 24:45Let me figure out what I need to know. And when
- 24:48you do the same, you figure out what you need
- 24:50from the fact. Moving on to the family and government.
- 24:54roles and limits. Government cannot replace family.
- 24:57It can protect, but it cannot parent. It can
- 25:00legislate, but it cannot love. And it can regulate,
- 25:04but it cannot raise children. In America's early
- 25:06centuries, government assumed families would
- 25:08teach values. Today, government often tries to
- 25:12fill the gaps left by broken homes. But scripture
- 25:16is clear. The responsibility of raising children
- 25:18belongs to parents, not to politicians. Government
- 25:22can support families. but it cannot substitute
- 25:25for them. It can create policies, but it cannot
- 25:27create character. It can provide resources, but
- 25:31it cannot provide relationship. A nation's strength
- 25:34is measured not by its laws, but by its home.
- 25:38You know, in schools, they say a school has the
- 25:41term loco parente, which means that in the absence
- 25:44of the parents, the school acts as the parent.
- 25:48But the school is still government. Whether it's
- 25:50a private school, public, it's still government.
- 25:52And there's only a certain amount of things they
- 25:54can do. If it's not reinforced in the home, what
- 25:57is said in those six, seven hours falls by the
- 26:00wayside. So think about that. Reinforcement.
- 26:03Remember we always taught about trial and error.
- 26:05We learned something by making our mistakes.
- 26:07But we had someone there. Our parents were there
- 26:10to reinforce why. They told us the why. And then
- 26:16we understood. Let's talk about the family and
- 26:19community. The heartbeat of society. Families
- 26:23are the heartbeat of the community. They create
- 26:25neighborhoods, shape traditions, and build social
- 26:28trust. When families serve together, communities
- 26:31heal. When families volunteer together, cities
- 26:34strengthen. And when families worship together,
- 26:36the culture shifts. Community is not built by
- 26:39programs. It is built by people. And the strongest
- 26:42communities are built by families who choose
- 26:44to live with purpose. In America after 250, communities
- 26:48must rediscover the power. of the family involvement,
- 26:51mentoring, coaching, serving, supporting, and
- 26:54connecting. When families engage, communities
- 26:57flourish. The family was the first pulpit. Faith
- 27:03is not inherited by genetics. It's cultivated
- 27:05by example. Children learn what they see. They
- 27:10learn how parents pray, how parents worship,
- 27:12how parents forgive, and how parents endure trials.
- 27:16The home is the first pulpit because parents
- 27:18preach with their lives, grandparents preach
- 27:21with their stories, and siblings preach with
- 27:24their compassion. Churches can reinforce faith,
- 27:27but families must plant it. When faith becomes
- 27:32part of the daily life, not just weekly attendance,
- 27:35children grow into adults who walk with God.
- 27:39Faith is not taught once, it is lived continuously.
- 27:44And here's the prophetic declaration about families
- 27:48will shape the future. We declare families will
- 27:52influence culture, homes will become havens of
- 27:55truth, communities will reflect compassion, schools
- 27:59will partner with parents, media will not overpower
- 28:02morality, government will support families, not
- 28:06replace them, and America will rediscover its
- 28:09moral compass. The Spirit of God. It is raising
- 28:13families who will stand in truth, walk in wisdom,
- 28:16and live in purpose. The future of America after
- 28:20250 will be shaped, not by institutions, but
- 28:24by families who honor God. So we discussed that
- 28:27the family is not isolated. It's influential.
- 28:30It shapes culture, education, economics, media,
- 28:34government, and community. When families live
- 28:37by faith, societies learn by example. When families
- 28:42walk in wisdom, culture follows. And when families
- 28:44honor God, nations rise. Let's talk about the
- 28:49future of the family. We have looked backward.
- 28:52We have looked inward. We have looked around.
- 28:57Now let's look forward. What will American family
- 29:01look like in the next century? What pressures
- 29:04will shape it? What opportunities will strengthen
- 29:06it? What spiritual battles will comfort it? What
- 29:11cultural forces will challenge it? And most importantly,
- 29:15what must families do now to prepare for the
- 29:21future God intends? The future of America after
- 29:24250 will not be determined by technology, politics,
- 29:27or economics. It will be determined by the strength
- 29:30of families. Families who choose faith over fear,
- 29:33purpose over passivity, and covenant over convenience.
- 29:38The family... has to navigate through a technological
- 29:42world. Technology will continue to evolve at
- 29:45breathtaking speed. Artificial intelligence,
- 29:48automation, virtual reality, and augmented reality,
- 29:53and digital ecosystems will reshape how families
- 29:57live, work, learn, and communicate. But technology
- 30:01cannot replace relationship. It cannot substitute
- 30:04for presence. It cannot imitate compassion. It
- 30:09cannot replicate covenant. Families must learn
- 30:13to use innovation without losing intimacy. The
- 30:18danger is not technology itself. It is distraction.
- 30:21It is the disconnection. It is the slow erosion
- 30:24of attention, affection, and awareness. The future
- 30:27family must be intentional, intentional about
- 30:30time, intentional about conversation, intentional
- 30:34about boundaries, and intentional about digital
- 30:35habits. Technology must serve. the family, and
- 30:40not swallow it up. The families who thrive in
- 30:43America after 250 will be those who master technology
- 30:47without allowing the technology to master them.
- 30:50The family and faith formation, resilience in
- 30:54a shifting culture is where we have to go next.
- 30:57The future will require spiritual resilience,
- 31:00not shallow faith, not occasional faith, not
- 31:03inherited faith, but resilient faith. that withstands
- 31:08pressure, faith that endures opposition, faith
- 31:10that remains anchored in truth. Children will
- 31:14grow up in a world where truth is contested,
- 31:17identity is debated, and morality is fluid. Families
- 31:22must teach children how to stand firm in a shifting
- 31:25culture, how to discern truth from deception,
- 31:27how to recognize God's voice, how to resist cultural
- 31:31pressure, how to walk in holiness, how to live
- 31:36with conviction and compassion. Faith must be
- 31:40personal, practical, and powerful. The future
- 31:45family must be a training ground for spiritual
- 31:48strength, a place where scripture is lived, where
- 31:51prayer is practiced, and where worship is natural,
- 31:55and the obedience celebrated. Resilient families
- 31:59produce resilient believers. Let's talk about
- 32:02identity. Identity will be one of the greatest
- 32:05battlegrounds of the next century. Culture will
- 32:08continue to redefine identity, gender, purpose,
- 32:12morality, belonging, and truth. But families
- 32:14must restore what culture has confused. Children
- 32:18must know who they are, not because culture tells
- 32:23them, but because God tells them. They must know
- 32:27they are created with purpose, designed with
- 32:30intention, and loved with eternity. Identity
- 32:34is not discovered. It is received. It is not
- 32:38invented. It is inherited. And it's inherited
- 32:41from the Creator. Families must teach children
- 32:46you are made in the image of God. You are fearful
- 32:50and wonderfully made. You are chosen. You are
- 32:55called and loved. You are not an accident. You
- 32:57are an assignment. Identity is the foundation
- 33:02of destiny. The future family must prepare children
- 33:06not just for careers, but for callings. A career
- 33:10is what you do. A calling is why you exist. Families
- 33:15must help children discover their gifts, their
- 33:18passions, their strength, their spiritual purpose.
- 33:21The next generation must be trained to serve,
- 33:24to lead, to innovate, to create, to heal. to
- 33:29build, and to bless. Proverbs 22 verse 6 is not
- 33:34about forcing a child into a path. It is about
- 33:37guiding them into God's design for them. The
- 33:42future family must be a launching pad for destiny.
- 33:45America after 250 will face crisis of trust.
- 33:48Trust in institutions, trust in leaderships,
- 33:51trust in systems, trust in one another. We've
- 33:55seen this in schools where teachers or college
- 33:58professors indoctrinate our children and turn
- 34:01them into something we can't even recognize.
- 34:04Families have to be there to rebuild that social
- 34:09trust. Trust is learned at home. Children learn
- 34:13trust through consistency, through honesty, through
- 34:15compassion, through forgiveness. When families
- 34:18model trust, communities heal. When families
- 34:21practice integrity, society strengthens. When
- 34:24families live with honor, culture shifts. The
- 34:28future family must be a beacon of trust in a
- 34:31world struggling with suspicion. The future will
- 34:35bring cultural pressure, pressure to conform,
- 34:38pressure to compromise, pressure to remain silent,
- 34:41pressure to abandon truth. You may even be chastised.
- 34:46because of your thoughts, because you expressed
- 34:48yourself, because you disagreed with somebody.
- 34:50But that is your belief. And no matter how many
- 34:53times they tell you something else, you have
- 34:56to follow your faith. Families must teach children
- 35:01how to stand firm without growing hard. Strength
- 35:05without bitterness. Conviction without cruelty.
- 35:08And boldness without arrogance. Truth without
- 35:11hostility. The future family must raise children
- 35:14who can stand in truth and walk in love. This
- 35:18balance will be essential for the next century.
- 35:21And the family must embrace hope because there's
- 35:26power in the prophetic vision. Families must
- 35:29become the carriers of hope. Hope is not optimism.
- 35:33It's expectation rooted in God's promises. The
- 35:37future family must speak hope, pray hope, live
- 35:40hope, and pass hope to the next generation. Hope
- 35:44is the fuel of perseverance. Hope is the anchor
- 35:47of faith. And hope is the light that guides families
- 35:50through darkness. Families must teach children
- 35:52that God is faithful and that his promises endure.
- 35:55And that his plans prevail and that his presence
- 35:58remains. Hope is the inheritance of the righteous.
- 36:02We declare families will rise in strength. Homes
- 36:07will become havens of truth. Children will walk
- 36:09in wisdom. Parents will lead with courage. Grandparents
- 36:13will speak with authority. Generations will stand
- 36:16together. Faith will flourish. Identity will
- 36:19be restored. Purpose will be discovered. Hope
- 36:22will be ignited. And America after 250 will be
- 36:26shaped by families who honor God. The Spirit
- 36:29of God is calling families into the future. Not
- 36:33with fear, but with faith. Not with anxiety,
- 36:35but with authority. And not with confusion, but
- 36:38with clarity. The future family will rise. This
- 36:43last part reminds us that the future of America
- 36:45will be written inside the homes. Family must
- 36:49prepare for technological change, cultural pressure,
- 36:52identity confusion, economic shifts, and spiritual
- 36:57battles. But families must also prepare for revival,
- 37:01renewal. restoration, and generational blessing.
- 37:05The future begins at home. And the home begins
- 37:09with Proverbs 22, verse 6. Let us pray. Heavenly
- 37:18Father, we pause in this moment to acknowledge
- 37:21your hand upon every family listening today.
- 37:24Lord, you are the author of identity. You are
- 37:28the one who formed us, named us, called us. before
- 37:32we ever took our first breath we ask you now
- 37:36restore identity where it has been confused heal
- 37:40identity where it has been wounded and strengthen
- 37:43identity where it has been shaken let every child
- 37:47every parent every grandparent hear your voice
- 37:50above every other voice the voice that says you
- 37:53are mine you are loved you are chosen you are
- 37:57created with purpose father guide our families
- 38:01as we prepare the next generation for the world
- 38:04they will inherit give us the wisdom to teach
- 38:08courage to lead and compassion to listen help
- 38:11us raise children who know who they are because
- 38:14they know whose they are and lord as we look
- 38:19toward the future let your presence fill our
- 38:22homes your truth shape our hearts and your calling
- 38:25direct our steps We trust you with our families.
- 38:29We trust you with our future. We trust you with
- 38:32generations to come. In Jesus' name, amen. Thank
- 38:38you for listening to Voices of Life, a ministry
- 38:41of the Church for Life. And I'm your host, Pastor
- 38:44David. Until next time, God bless you and God
- 38:48bless the United States of America. You've been
- 38:51listening to Voices of Life. Today's episode,
- 38:54week six. The family after 250 has reminded us
- 39:00that the future of America will not be written
- 39:03by institutions, but by families who choose faith,
- 39:07purpose, and covenant. From the foundation of
- 39:11the home, to the bridge between generations,
- 39:14to the influence families carry in society, to
- 39:18the future God is preparing, every hour has pointed
- 39:22us back to the truth of Proverbs 22 .6. Train
- 39:27up a child. Shape a destiny. Strengthen a nation.
- 39:32Pastor David's message calls us to rebuild the
- 39:35family altar, restore generational connection,
- 39:38and prepare our homes for the world our children
- 39:42will inherit. Join us next week as America, after
- 39:472 .50. The story continues moves forward into
- 39:50its next chapter. Until then. Stay prayerful,
- 39:55stay hopeful, and stay committed to the calling
- 39:58God has placed on your family. This has been
