- 0:12Speaker 2: Don't touch that dial.
- 0:18Speaker 3: It's showtime.
- 0:19Speaker 4: The following feature has been rated R by the Motion
- 0:22Speaker 4: Picture Association of America.
- 0:23Speaker 3: It is intended for mature audiences, and parental discretion is advised.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Million kilowatts of power.
- 0:59Speaker 5: Provide more cooling in the containment chamber. To your stations,
- 1:02Speaker 5: we have a movie meltdown.
- 1:03Speaker 6: Now get back in the theater, you nitty hammers!
- 1:06Speaker 1: And remember, I know who you are, and I saw
- 1:09Speaker 1: what you did.
- 1:10Speaker 6: Now scat! What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown.
- 1:22Speaker 5: I'm Brian.
- 1:23Speaker 7: I'm Misty.
- 1:24Speaker 6: And I'm Jake. And we're coming to you live via
- 1:26Speaker 6: digital recording from the Bastion of Awesomeness.
- 1:28Speaker 7: Hell yeah, we are.
- 1:30Speaker 6: So, how's it going?
- 1:33Speaker 7: It's going. We swept the floor specifically for this episode.
- 1:37Speaker 6: Well, this is special. I know, right? A very special episode.
- 1:41Speaker 7: It's probably like a pile behind that pile of boxes
- 1:43Speaker 7: over there.
- 1:44Speaker 6: You with stuff? That seems unlikely. I know.
- 1:48Speaker 7: You tried to kill me with an avalanche of my
- 1:50Speaker 7: own cereal boxes.
- 1:52Speaker 6: Well, I mean, if there's a way to go, it's
- 1:54Speaker 6: crushed under Count Chocula boxes.
- 1:56Speaker 7: I suppose.
- 1:57Speaker 6: So, any new developments in the world of Misty and Jay?
- 2:05Speaker 7: We haven't watched that much lately because we've been slacking.
- 2:08Speaker 7: Because I've been working like crazy because that's what I
- 2:11Speaker 7: do during the Christmas season.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Same here.
- 2:14Speaker 6: You've escaped the holidays.
- 2:15Speaker 7: As much as they could be escaped before Valentine's Day comes.
- 2:19Speaker 6: Then it gets all crazy.
- 2:20Speaker 7: Yeah, stupid Valentine's people. I did watch the second season
- 2:26Speaker 7: of Scream Queens finally finished. I guess they just did
- 2:29Speaker 7: the season finale.
- 2:30Speaker 6: Last week, maybe.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Awful.
- 2:36Speaker 6: So you love it.
- 2:37Speaker 7: See, that's what pissed me off. I really, really loved
- 2:40Speaker 7: the first season of Scream Queens. It's hilarious. The whole
- 2:45Speaker 7: plot makes sense, sort of. It's very well written. Emma Roberts,
- 2:51Speaker 7: she's just the craziest little bitch that's ever bitched. I
- 2:53Speaker 7: swear to God, she's so adorable. And when she gets
- 2:56Speaker 7: all mad and she walks and her little arms go flailing,
- 2:59Speaker 7: you're pretty sure something's going to snap off. And she's
- 3:01Speaker 7: just so adorable. But she's just so mean. And it's
- 3:06Speaker 7: so funny, though, because she's just.
- 3:08Speaker 6: She's pretty entertaining, I've got to say. It is.
- 3:10Speaker 7: She's adorable.
- 3:11Speaker 6: Somebody I didn't know what to think of when she
- 3:13Speaker 6: started making movies. She's like, she's totally come around. I
- 3:17Speaker 6: am completely on board now.
- 3:18Speaker 7: See, I wasn't familiar with her that much. I didn't
- 3:21Speaker 7: see her. Was she on Disney? Was she a Disney girl?
- 3:24Speaker 6: I think I didn't see much of her then.
- 3:27Speaker 7: She had a show, but I can't remember if it
- 3:29Speaker 7: was Disney or not. I don't remember whatever show it was. Whatever.
- 3:34Speaker 7: She sings, too, because I think she sings on the show.
- 3:36Speaker 6: But, uh.
- 3:37Speaker 7: It was also like a Game Boy game for whatever
- 3:40Speaker 7: show she was on, too.
- 3:40Speaker 6: I can't remember if it was Scream 4. It was
- 3:43Speaker 6: like the first thing I really remember paying attention to.
- 3:47Speaker 6: But even then, I liked her.
- 3:48Speaker 7: I don't really remember it. I've seen it once. I
- 3:50Speaker 7: was like, I need to go through and revisit the
- 3:52Speaker 7: entire series. But still, it's like she was just another
- 3:54Speaker 7: random person at that point. It wasn't until I watched... Oh, no.
- 3:57Speaker 6: She is crazy. You should totally watch it again.
- 4:00Speaker 7: I need to go back through and watch it again.
- 4:01Speaker 6: Because that's what makes it for me. I have so
- 4:04Speaker 6: many problems with the middle part and them kind of
- 4:06Speaker 6: repeating themselves. The only thing that makes me like it
- 4:09Speaker 6: in the end is the whole addition of her.
- 4:13Speaker 7: It's been so long. I saw it and I'm like, oh, okay.
- 4:16Speaker 7: Then I just kind of forgot that she existed, I guess.
- 4:20Speaker 6: She all kinds of exists in that movie.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:23Speaker 7: She's so great. I was remade aware of her during
- 4:28Speaker 7: American Horror Story because she was in the Coven season,
- 4:32Speaker 7: which is one of my favorite seasons. which I've gone
- 4:35Speaker 7: on and on about how great that season is. And
- 4:36Speaker 7: I was just like, holy shit, she's so amazingly crazy.
- 4:40Speaker 7: I love her. And then it's just gone on and
- 4:44Speaker 7: on from there because she was in the least favorite
- 4:48Speaker 7: season of American Horror Story as well. This freak show
- 4:51Speaker 7: was just... But anyways, yes, the first season of Scream Queens,
- 4:57Speaker 7: one of my favorite things of all times is that
- 5:00Speaker 7: entire first season. So I was super excited when the
- 5:03Speaker 7: second season was coming out. I was like, There's going
- 5:05Speaker 7: to be a second season. I'm like, there's not going
- 5:07Speaker 7: to be a third season. After watching this. It's just
- 5:10Speaker 7: a clusterfuck of just, what is going on? Is anybody
- 5:14Speaker 7: actually writing this? Or are they just making it up
- 5:16Speaker 7: as they go along?
- 5:18Speaker 6: Isn't that Glee, dude? Yeah. That's part of it. He's
- 5:22Speaker 6: just a weird writer.
- 5:23Speaker 7: But he also did all the American Horror Stories.
- 5:25Speaker 6: Again, the fact that he does Glee and American Horror Stories.
- 5:28Speaker 6: He's a weird dude. But the first one was so good.
- 5:30Speaker 7: It's like he did the first one. So it's like,
- 5:31Speaker 7: I'm like, I expected it to be... closer to the
- 5:35Speaker 7: first season of scream queens and it was it they
- 5:41Speaker 7: turn they change the characters because she goes from just
- 5:43Speaker 7: being like this complete like she's just a bitch and
- 5:46Speaker 7: to more she's like the butt of the joke now
- 5:49Speaker 7: i guess she's well that's different it is the whole
- 5:54Speaker 7: running gag is that her boyfriend would rather sleep with
- 5:57Speaker 7: old as the fucking hill jamie lee curtis than sleep
- 6:00Speaker 7: with her and i'm just like It's getting old really fast,
- 6:03Speaker 7: Uncle Jesse. Come on now. And that's the other thing.
- 6:09Speaker 7: At least the first one had, like, one steady plot.
- 6:11Speaker 7: This one, there's just, the doctor has the hand of
- 6:14Speaker 7: a serial killer, and it's killing people, and this guy,
- 6:16Speaker 7: he thinks he's the dead, and he's a, I'm not,
- 6:19Speaker 7: it's got fucking Tyler Watner in it, and it's just,
- 6:23Speaker 7: I'm like, what? You're just, there's so much shit that just,
- 6:26Speaker 7: you're just throwing stuff against the wall to see if
- 6:28Speaker 7: it'll stick at this point. It's just, It's a mess.
- 6:33Speaker 7: It had Kirstie Alley and nobody wants to see that.
- 6:35Speaker 6: She made a comeback. She seems less crazy these days.
- 6:39Speaker 7: No, you haven't seen her in this one.
- 6:40Speaker 6: Well, she's supposed to be crazy in the show.
- 6:42Speaker 7: Yeah, she's supposed to be, but she's an annoying kind
- 6:44Speaker 7: of crazy where you're just like, whoa.
- 6:46Speaker 6: She's fallen far from summer school.
- 6:49Speaker 7: Yeah, she's fallen far from fucking humanity.
- 6:51Speaker 6: She's fucking weird.
- 6:54Speaker 7: But anyway, so yeah, season two of Scream Queens was
- 6:56Speaker 7: not a thumbs up. I did not approve. I will
- 6:59Speaker 7: probably not be purchasing it on DVD. I will rewatch
- 7:02Speaker 7: the first season on a loop until they make a
- 7:06Speaker 7: season that doesn't suck, which might be a while considering.
- 7:08Speaker 7: I don't think they're going to get a third season
- 7:10Speaker 7: after this because I would not vote for a third
- 7:12Speaker 7: season after this because it was not good.
- 7:14Speaker 6: Why don't you just make your own third season and
- 7:16Speaker 6: see if you can lure Emma over here and you're
- 7:18Speaker 6: going to shoot it on your phone in the backyard
- 7:20Speaker 6: and be like, Hold this knife. You're a crazy person now.
- 7:24Speaker 7: It would probably be better.
- 7:25Speaker 6: And then we'll go braid each other's hair.
- 7:27Speaker 7: I would totally braid her hair.
- 7:29Speaker 6: I figured that was coming.
- 7:31Speaker 7: She's so adorable. Actually, my favorite part of the second
- 7:36Speaker 7: season was Billy Lord. Is that how you say her name?
- 7:38Speaker 7: Billy Lord? Is it just Lord?
- 7:39Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 7:41Speaker 7: It looks like it would be Lord. L-O-U-R-D.
- 7:44Speaker 6: Where do we know this person from?
- 7:45Speaker 7: Billy Lord, come on now. I have nothing to talk
- 7:48Speaker 7: about her from the last couple of days because I
- 7:50Speaker 7: think she better watch her ass.
- 7:51Speaker 6: I haven't seen her.
- 7:52Speaker 7: Oh.
- 7:53Speaker 6: Well, that's true, but... I don't know what the hell's
- 7:57Speaker 6: going on with that family.
- 7:58Speaker 7: Yeah, that family's a big old mess right now.
- 8:00Speaker 6: She's got.
- 8:02Speaker 7: I feel bad for her. I feel bad for Lady Lord. She's...
- 8:06Speaker 7: She was. She was the high point of this. She
- 8:08Speaker 7: was the only thing that made this season worth watching.
- 8:10Speaker 7: Because they made... Whatever they did with Emma Roberts' character,
- 8:13Speaker 7: she wasn't in it near as much as she should be.
- 8:15Speaker 7: And when she was, it was just kind of like
- 8:16Speaker 7: a sad.
- 8:17Speaker 6: She's got to shoot seven shows somewhere else, or she's
- 8:20Speaker 6: making movies now.
- 8:21Speaker 7: Anyway, Billie Lourd was awesome. She plays... She's Chanel No. 3,
- 8:27Speaker 7: I guess, in this one, because there... Yeah, there was
- 8:31Speaker 7: Chanel No. 1, which is the main Chanel, and Chanel No. 2,
- 8:33Speaker 7: who was Ariana Grande.
- 8:35Speaker 6: They iced her quick.
- 8:37Speaker 7: They did, like, first episode. She had it coming.
- 8:40Speaker 6: But.
- 8:42Speaker 7: I don't know what happened before. I think she got
- 8:43Speaker 7: meningitis and died or something. She's not even in the show.
- 8:47Speaker 7: She's carrying the opening monologue or not even the monologue.
- 8:50Speaker 7: She had meningitis and died because whatever. But anyways, number three,
- 8:54Speaker 7: Billie Lourd with her earmuffs. She's the best in this season.
- 8:58Speaker 7: And that still is not enough to save it.
- 9:01Speaker 6: Good, didn't it?
- 9:03Speaker 7: I feel bad for her.
- 9:06Speaker 6: We'll save that for a future Dead Person episode. Which
- 9:09Speaker 6: I guess we're doing, right? At this point, I was like,
- 9:12Speaker 6: do we.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Even want to?
- 9:13Speaker 6: It's just overwhelming this time around. I guess we will.
- 9:17Speaker 7: I think we'll take a second to discuss the fact
- 9:20Speaker 7: that she will at least be taking care of the dog,
- 9:22Speaker 7: so I don't have to worry about that anymore.
- 9:24Speaker 6: I hope so. That's the saddest thing ever.
- 9:27Speaker 7: I was okay. Just a brief thing. I was okay.
- 9:30Speaker 7: I'm not being a super big Star Wars fan. I
- 9:32Speaker 7: wasn't like, oh no, Princess Leonardo. It sucked. It was sad.
- 9:36Speaker 7: It's sad because she seemed pretty cool, but I'm not like,
- 9:39Speaker 7: I mean, I guess I just wasn't on the same
- 9:41Speaker 7: boat as everybody else with Star Wars. It sucks. And
- 9:43Speaker 7: I was okay until I saw her dog's Twitter page.
- 9:46Speaker 7: And then I was like, oh my God, I'm going
- 9:48Speaker 7: to cry. And I was like, oh my God.
- 9:50Speaker 6: It was ridiculous. I described that photo to someone today
- 9:54Speaker 6: and they were like, I think I'm going to cry.
- 9:56Speaker 6: I was like, exactly. That photo is just ridiculous. It's
- 10:01Speaker 6: sad beyond all other sad things. OMG.
- 10:04Speaker 7: I was going to cry. I spent the entire rest
- 10:06Speaker 7: of the evening going to cry, going to cry over
- 10:10Speaker 7: this stupid Twitter page for this dog who can't even type.
- 10:14Speaker 6: Or this dog I don't know.
- 10:16Speaker 7: We saw that dog once. We saw it.
- 10:18Speaker 6: Was she carrying it around?
- 10:19Speaker 7: No, it was running around, around her feet. It was like,
- 10:21Speaker 7: they saw the dog first.
- 10:22Speaker 6: I'm like, there's a dog. It's a puppy.
- 10:25Speaker 7: Oh my God. To me, every dog is a puppy.
- 10:27Speaker 7: It could be like 80 years.
- 10:28Speaker 6: Old and like. Well, I know she did when she
- 10:31Speaker 6: was here in town doing her appearance like two years
- 10:34Speaker 6: ago or whatever it was. Like I do remember them
- 10:36Speaker 6: saying like she kind of went off and left the line.
- 10:39Speaker 6: To go shopping downtown with the dog. Like she was
- 10:42Speaker 6: walking around downtown shopping with the dog.
- 10:45Speaker 7: Gary wants to go look at stuff.
- 10:46Speaker 6: Well, you know what I mean.
- 10:47Speaker 7: Well, anyways, the whole point was Billy Lord will be
- 10:50Speaker 7: taking over the parenting responsibility of Gary, the dog. I
- 10:53Speaker 7: hope so. Apparently she has a dog of her own
- 10:56Speaker 7: and they will be getting along.
- 10:57Speaker 6: They can hang out and be super friends. Okay.
- 11:00Speaker 7: So sad. We love you, Gary.
- 11:04Speaker 6: Gary is pretty awesome. I'm sure he listens to shows
- 11:07Speaker 6: like this. You just have to have special earbuds to
- 11:09Speaker 6: fit in dog ears.
- 11:10Speaker 7: Do they have those? Just like the big clip-on, like
- 11:12Speaker 7: the big.
- 11:13Speaker 6: Giant DJ headphones.
- 11:14Speaker 7: Hell yeah.
- 11:15Speaker 6: DJ Gary.
- 11:16Speaker 7: Other than that, we haven't really watched anything else. Aside
- 11:20Speaker 7: from watching hours and hours of Christmas Story and nitpicking
- 11:23Speaker 7: things that I never noticed before, which I probably shouldn't
- 11:24Speaker 7: get into because that would just take hours.
- 11:26Speaker 6: Probably.
- 11:28Speaker 7: We re-watched Krampus because we had not seen that since
- 11:31Speaker 7: the theater. So that had been quite some time. My
- 11:34Speaker 7: boyfriend wanted to watch a movie with his kid for Christmas.
- 11:38Speaker 7: And he decided, first of all, that he wanted to
- 11:40Speaker 7: make a tradition out of watching Die Hard because he
- 11:42Speaker 7: has never seen Die Hard. What the hell?
- 11:46Speaker 8: Never got a chance to sit down and watch Die Hard.
- 11:49Speaker 6: I mean, normally I don't pull that like, how the hell?
- 11:52Speaker 6: Because there's so much shit that nobody gets around to.
- 11:54Speaker 6: So I usually, but again, I would assume at some
- 11:58Speaker 6: point you would have made your way to Die Hard.
- 12:00Speaker 6: So did you make it through this year?
- 12:02Speaker 7: No, because we realized we did not have Die Hard.
- 12:05Speaker 6: I have a copy of it if we need to
- 12:07Speaker 6: plan for next Christmas.
- 12:08Speaker 7: It was not on the instant watch.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I may have to think a little bit ahead of
- 12:11Speaker 1: time next time.
- 12:12Speaker 7: Instead of waiting until Christmas Eve and being like, hey,
- 12:13Speaker 7: you know, we should start a new Christmas tradition of
- 12:16Speaker 7: watching Die Hard. Oh, wait, we don't actually have Die Hard.
- 12:19Speaker 6: I have multiple diehards if you'd like to get a
- 12:21Speaker 6: whole series going.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:24Speaker 7: So we're like, what else do we have?
- 12:25Speaker 8: I'm usually really, really busy. And this isn't the thing
- 12:29Speaker 8: where it's like, oh, all of a sudden I'm busy.
- 12:30Speaker 8: It's like I'm always busy. I've been busy ever since
- 12:33Speaker 8: I moved out of my parents' house at 18. Yeah,
- 12:38Speaker 8: I just never got a chance to.
- 12:40Speaker 6: It's definitely worth seeing. And a holiday classic.
- 12:43Speaker 8: I've seen snippets of it here and there. You know,
- 12:46Speaker 8: when I've gotten to settle down for a second and
- 12:48Speaker 8: I'll catch it.
- 12:49Speaker 7: It's like I can understand you not having seen The
- 12:51Speaker 7: Last Unicorn or Dirty Dancing.
- 12:55Speaker 8: Yeah, because I like action films and I just haven't
- 12:58Speaker 8: gotten to see Die Hard.
- 12:58Speaker 6: I think that's the part I was just like, yeah,
- 13:00Speaker 6: I would assume you would have made your way to
- 13:01Speaker 6: Die Hard by now.
- 13:03Speaker 7: Or at least with the group of friends that you
- 13:04Speaker 7: had that you would have seen it at some point,
- 13:06Speaker 7: you know.
- 13:07Speaker 1: No, we just never.
- 13:09Speaker 8: I mean, it's like I haven't seen all the Lethal
- 13:11Speaker 8: Weapon movies.
- 13:13Speaker 6: Truthfully, I think I'm down one. I stand by most
- 13:18Speaker 6: of those earliest ones, but I think that fourth one,
- 13:21Speaker 6: I'm still like, that was a whole lot of people
- 13:23Speaker 6: crammed in one movie, and I just still haven't gotten
- 13:25Speaker 6: around to it.
- 13:25Speaker 8: I mean, and I just, you know, I just wasn't
- 13:27Speaker 8: a huge Bruce Willis fan, not saying that I don't
- 13:30Speaker 8: like Bruce Willis. I like Bruce Willis. I like him
- 13:32Speaker 8: in a lot of different movies. Death Becomes Her, you know,
- 13:37Speaker 8: that was.
- 13:37Speaker 1: A great movie. How did I watch that movie? I
- 13:39Speaker 1: don't know.
- 13:40Speaker 7: And not Die Hard.
- 13:41Speaker 8: And not Die Hard. But, you know, that and his
- 13:44Speaker 8: role in Pulp Fiction and, There's a bunch of different
- 13:47Speaker 8: other roles. But for some reason, I guess because.
- 13:54Speaker 1: I just never got around to watching it.
- 13:57Speaker 6: Again, even, I'd say especially if you like action movies,
- 14:01Speaker 6: only because this is one of those that's kind of
- 14:03Speaker 6: amazed me because I saw it in the theater. I
- 14:06Speaker 6: loved it from day one. So it's funny that everyone
- 14:09Speaker 6: else came online. It's funny how even super snobby film
- 14:14Speaker 6: nerd kind of people will be like, Well, I don't
- 14:17Speaker 6: really like action movies. Well, okay, except Die Hard. It
- 14:19Speaker 6: is so perfectly structured as an action movie that even
- 14:24Speaker 6: to this day, it still holds up and you see
- 14:28Speaker 6: the fact that every action movie after it started kind
- 14:31Speaker 6: of ripping it off or taking that basic structure and
- 14:34Speaker 6: just doing their own dumb thing on top of it.
- 14:36Speaker 6: So just for how well put together it is as
- 14:40Speaker 6: a movie.
- 14:41Speaker 7: And the first one has Alan Rickman, doesn't it?
- 14:43Speaker 6: It does. He's pretty damn impressive. So you can't go
- 14:45Speaker 6: wrong with Alan Rickman.
- 14:46Speaker 7: And the second one's the second one that has Jeremy Irons,
- 14:48Speaker 7: who I adore.
- 14:49Speaker 6: No, that's the third one. I don't know. See, I'm
- 14:51Speaker 6: a sucker for the third one. Most people would have
- 14:53Speaker 6: written off the series by then. The second one is
- 14:57Speaker 6: William Sadler? Hmm. There might be somebody else mixed in there,
- 15:01Speaker 6: but I feel like he's sort of in there as
- 15:04Speaker 6: a badass military dude at some point.
- 15:06Speaker 7: So as our not being able to watch Die Hard
- 15:09Speaker 7: for lack of having Die Hard... We decided to go
- 15:12Speaker 7: with Krampus instead.
- 15:14Speaker 6: Almost the same note.
- 15:16Speaker 7: It's what we had. And this year was the first year.
- 15:19Speaker 7: It's only the second year we've been. Went to Krampus Fest.
- 15:23Speaker 7: In Bloomington, they have the parade of the Krampi.
- 15:26Speaker 6: Again, I do want to go. I would be up
- 15:28Speaker 6: for doing a whole Krampus-themed episode from the craziness.
- 15:32Speaker 7: I don't know. It's really cold out there.
- 15:35Speaker 6: Maybe next year it won't be so cold.
- 15:38Speaker 7: Anyway, so we figured since it was the first year,
- 15:39Speaker 7: because last year it was just me and the boyfriend,
- 15:41Speaker 7: and this year we took the kid with us, so
- 15:43Speaker 7: we took her, and I got switched.
- 15:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 15:47Speaker 7: It hurt.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Well, you were naughty, so.
- 15:50Speaker 6: I was like, wait, at birth? No. Yeah.
- 15:52Speaker 7: Well, because when you go to the Krampus Fest, they
- 15:55Speaker 7: give you a sticker. You can either have the naughty
- 15:56Speaker 7: or the nice.
- 15:57Speaker 6: I mean, now it does make sense, and yes, obviously
- 15:59Speaker 6: you should have gotten switched.
- 16:01Speaker 7: I had the naughty sticker. So boyfriend was like, She's
- 16:04Speaker 7: over here! And, like, it's, like, trying to beat her ass!
- 16:08Speaker 7: And he did, and I thought for sure it was
- 16:10Speaker 7: going to leave a welt! Like, really, you're hurt!
- 16:12Speaker 6: Like, he switched me really hard!
- 16:13Speaker 7: Well, you shouldn't be so damned evil! I know, I
- 16:15Speaker 7: can't help it, though. So, yeah, so we figured since
- 16:18Speaker 7: this was the first year we took the kid, we're like, well,
- 16:20Speaker 7: we have, it's one of the few Christmas-related movies we have,
- 16:24Speaker 7: so we will sit down and we will watch Krampus.
- 16:27Speaker 7: So I watched it, and still, some parts of it
- 16:29Speaker 7: were just like, oh my god.
- 16:30Speaker 6: It's still uneven, just as I remember it from last
- 16:33Speaker 6: year in our whole big kid discussion. I'm like, the
- 16:35Speaker 6: parts that are creepy are awesome, and the parts that
- 16:37Speaker 6: are silly are really fucking silly.
- 16:38Speaker 7: I don't think that the kid enjoyed it one bit,
- 16:40Speaker 7: because it wasn't near as scary as she thought it
- 16:42Speaker 7: was going to be. Yeah. But it's like, the gingerbread
- 16:44Speaker 7: men were still stupid.
- 16:45Speaker 6: That whole little 20 minute segment is pretty ridiculous.
- 16:49Speaker 7: All the toys and that little angel doll thing. And again,
- 16:53Speaker 7: I like the overall look of the Krampus, but just
- 16:56Speaker 7: the static face really pisses me off.
- 16:58Speaker 6: His big drooly mouth.
- 16:59Speaker 7: It just stays open. There's no movement to it. It's
- 17:02Speaker 7: just like... I'm just like, oh my god.
- 17:04Speaker 6: I don't know if you made that noise the whole time.
- 17:09Speaker 1: It's almost like watching Puppet Master.
- 17:12Speaker 7: I would have rather watched Puppet Master, I think.
- 17:14Speaker 6: That can be arranged.
- 17:17Speaker 7: Overall, I liked Krampus, and it's not like I'm opposed
- 17:19Speaker 7: to ever watching it again. I'll probably watch it again,
- 17:21Speaker 7: and I'll probably enjoy it, because there are some parts
- 17:22Speaker 7: that I do enjoy still, even though I'm second viewing.
- 17:24Speaker 7: I still liked it.
- 17:26Speaker 6: Adam Scott's always fun.
- 17:27Speaker 7: Yeah, he's okay. I like him pretty much.
- 17:29Speaker 6: It's pretty damn entertaining.
- 17:30Speaker 7: I like the beginning where the, when the, when the
- 17:32Speaker 7: girl first disappears, when the, it's, she's underneath the vehicle
- 17:36Speaker 7: or whatever. And you see, you know, you hear, yeah,
- 17:38Speaker 7: you know, and the kid was like, well, I didn't
- 17:40Speaker 7: like her anyways.
- 17:43Speaker 6: Well, yeah, you're rubbing off on her slow.
- 17:47Speaker 7: But, uh, yeah, other than that, I mean, we haven't
- 17:50Speaker 7: really been watching that much. Uh, we have, we have
- 17:52Speaker 7: the Roku. So I'm pretty excited cause I've been watching
- 17:54Speaker 7: the Penn and Taylor fullest cause it's on there like
- 17:56Speaker 7: all of the last season.
- 17:57Speaker 6: So, so yeah, it, It seems weird at first that
- 18:02Speaker 6: you like them, but all they do is trash magicians,
- 18:04Speaker 6: so it kind of makes sense.
- 18:06Speaker 7: I know. Everybody who's out there who knows me knows
- 18:09Speaker 7: that I fucking hate magicians. But, Penn can juggle like
- 18:14Speaker 7: nobody's business.
- 18:15Speaker 8: Yeah, that's right.
- 18:16Speaker 7: My love for jugglers.
- 18:17Speaker 6: Sucker for juggling.
- 18:18Speaker 7: And he's such a smartass, and he's an atheist, and
- 18:22Speaker 7: I adore him, and he's just so funny. They're funny.
- 18:25Speaker 7: And a lot of the comedians, or a lot of the,
- 18:28Speaker 7: magicians who try to do the comedian and funny and magic.
- 18:32Speaker 7: I usually just want to punch him in the face.
- 18:34Speaker 7: But there's just something about him. I don't know. He's funny.
- 18:37Speaker 6: He has charisma, too. He really can command the stage.
- 18:41Speaker 6: And it works when you pair it up with Teller, too.
- 18:43Speaker 7: Aside from being eight foot tall. He's really tall and
- 18:45Speaker 7: he can juggle. And it's fantastic. The juggling. I can't
- 18:49Speaker 7: help it. I'm a sucker for jugglers. I can't help it.
- 18:53Speaker 7: I just can't.
- 18:53Speaker 6: You're a strange character.
- 18:55Speaker 7: I know I am and I'm okay with it. I
- 18:59Speaker 7: love making fun of them, too. Because before, we had
- 19:02Speaker 7: our whole little routine for Friday. We would eat our dinner,
- 19:04Speaker 7: watch Jeopardy, and then, what's the one with Dean Cain?
- 19:09Speaker 7: Master of Illusions? No, Master of Illusions would come on,
- 19:13Speaker 7: and we would watch Master of Illusions, and I'd make
- 19:15Speaker 7: fun of them, because there would be poor man Charlie Sheen,
- 19:18Speaker 7: and what was his girl? Was she poor man Celine Dion?
- 19:23Speaker 7: I can't remember.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it was poor man Celine Dion.
- 19:26Speaker 6: I like your, this, like, 80 year old life that
- 19:29Speaker 6: you we have our dinner at a 4 30 and
- 19:32Speaker 6: then we watch the.
- 19:33Speaker 7: Jeopardies no jeopardy comes out at 7 30 and we're
- 19:35Speaker 7: usually eating dinner by then so we are eating around
- 19:37Speaker 7: the 7 7 30 time frame right.
- 19:38Speaker 6: There and then it's a time for bed.
- 19:41Speaker 7: No not on the weekends so yeah that's when i
- 19:47Speaker 7: first got suckered into the Penn & Teller Fool Us,
- 19:49Speaker 7: because that came on after the... Oh, my dear God,
- 19:53Speaker 7: is that Dean Cange?
- 19:56Speaker 6: He ain't super no more.
- 19:57Speaker 7: He is not super no more. Super doughy. His face
- 20:04Speaker 7: don't move no more. He's been going wherever Sean Patrick
- 20:07Speaker 7: Flannery went.
- 20:08Speaker 6: They got a package deal.
- 20:09Speaker 7: Apparently. I recommend them and get a discount.
- 20:14Speaker 6: Just say my name. Everybody there knows me. Don't you worry.
- 20:19Speaker 7: But yeah, other than that, we really haven't watched that much.
- 20:22Speaker 6: My only holiday since we're doing the post-holiday wrap-up here.
- 20:27Speaker 6: But it was funny. It is one of those, I
- 20:28Speaker 6: think I forgot there was a tie-in. So I hadn't
- 20:32Speaker 6: watched it in years and I always meant to because
- 20:34Speaker 6: I loved it anyway. But then I was like, oh yeah,
- 20:37Speaker 6: there is Christmas involved.
- 20:39Speaker 7: L.A.
- 20:39Speaker 6: Confidential starts on Christmas. I mean, the whole beginning scene,
- 20:44Speaker 6: I forgot this, too. Like, when Russell Crowe's kind of
- 20:47Speaker 6: waiting at that, like, white beater dude's hanging out there.
- 20:49Speaker 6: And he, like, goes and rips the Christmas lights off
- 20:51Speaker 6: the house to get him to come out of the
- 20:53Speaker 6: house so he can beat his ass.
- 20:55Speaker 7: I thought I still had your copy of L.A.
- 20:57Speaker 6: Confidential. I had it, so I guess not.
- 20:59Speaker 7: Oh.
- 20:59Speaker 6: You might have stolen someone else's.
- 21:00Speaker 7: It's a good possibility.
- 21:02Speaker 6: I actually just, again, I was like, I know I
- 21:03Speaker 6: have it. It's lost in a box.
- 21:05Speaker 7: I can't.
- 21:06Speaker 6: Probably don't feel like digging for it so i guess
- 21:08Speaker 6: i'm not gonna end up oh my god it's on
- 21:09Speaker 6: top of the box like it was the first one
- 21:11Speaker 6: when i opened the lid so i lucked in to
- 21:14Speaker 6: be able to find my own copies the sad state
- 21:16Speaker 6: of my living situation so i was like well that's
- 21:19Speaker 6: a christmas miracle i guess i'm watching this so Yeah,
- 21:22Speaker 6: I re-watched Ellie Confidential. God damn, that movie is good.
- 21:26Speaker 7: It is a good movie. It's been so long since
- 21:27Speaker 7: I've seen it, like at least 20 years.
- 21:29Speaker 6: That was mine. I've seen it, again, I saw it originally,
- 21:33Speaker 6: and then I bought it on DVD, and I watched
- 21:35Speaker 6: it once or twice, maybe right after I got it,
- 21:37Speaker 6: but I don't think I've watched it since then. So
- 21:40Speaker 6: it has been a long stretch, and I still had
- 21:42Speaker 6: it in my mind that it was awesome, and I
- 21:44Speaker 6: was like, it's been a while, let's re-watch it and see.
- 21:46Speaker 6: God damn, it holds up. Like, it is so solid.
- 21:50Speaker 6: It's funny, though, I I guess now I'm so used
- 21:52Speaker 6: to seeing him now. I'm like, Russell Crowe is so young.
- 21:56Speaker 6: I'm so used to seeing now Russell Crowe. No offense
- 21:58Speaker 6: to him. He seems like he's still a fine actor
- 22:01Speaker 6: when he has the right role.
- 22:01Speaker 7: He seems like he might punch you in the face.
- 22:04Speaker 6: He punches everybody in the face.
- 22:05Speaker 7: Yeah, he does.
- 22:06Speaker 6: But I mean, he's definitely got 20 years since then.
- 22:09Speaker 6: So I mean, he's an older dude. And then I
- 22:11Speaker 6: kind of forgot it was that much time. So I
- 22:13Speaker 6: look back and I'm like, oh, good Lord, he's like 12.
- 22:15Speaker 6: I was so.
- 22:15Speaker 7: I was like, shit. Remember when I was so in love.
- 22:18Speaker 6: With Russell Crowe? Oh, my Lord, you were so in
- 22:19Speaker 6: love with Russell Crowe.
- 22:20Speaker 7: I know Gladiator totally did it for me.
- 22:22Speaker 6: Gladiator still kind of works in my mind. I know
- 22:24Speaker 6: people don't like it as much these days. It suffers
- 22:28Speaker 6: from the big Horry Ridley Scott-ness. But I'm like, I
- 22:32Speaker 6: think it works.
- 22:33Speaker 7: I'm still looking at the movie and it unleashed the
- 22:36Speaker 7: love that I had for Russell Crowe.
- 22:38Speaker 6: You were entertained.
- 22:40Speaker 7: I was very entertained. Well, eventually they get old.
- 22:46Speaker 6: Eventually they get old and you don't care anymore.
- 22:48Speaker 7: I don't.
- 22:50Speaker 6: You'll find some new young stud.
- 22:52Speaker 7: I know, right?
- 22:53Speaker 6: That was the other thing, though. I was like, Guy
- 22:54Speaker 6: Pearce still kind of looks the same in my mind. Like,
- 22:57Speaker 6: I don't know. I feel like I've seen him recently
- 22:59Speaker 6: and stuff, but I don't feel like there was a
- 23:01Speaker 6: drastic change between him and he's equally as much. He's
- 23:05Speaker 6: kind of co-lead, too. I'm just like, he seems like
- 23:08Speaker 6: he kind of looks around the same, but like Russell
- 23:10Speaker 6: Crowe just looks massively different now. He just looks like
- 23:13Speaker 6: such a kid in the L.A.
- 23:14Speaker 5: Confidential.
- 23:15Speaker 7: I need to watch that again, but I don't know
- 23:17Speaker 7: if I can get Boyfriend to watch it.
- 23:20Speaker 3: What?
- 23:20Speaker 7: LA Confidential.
- 23:21Speaker 6: I don't know. It's worth watching. It's good. You just
- 23:24Speaker 6: have to remember everybody's names. I forgot. I remember the
- 23:27Speaker 6: first time I saw it going, wait, what? It's one
- 23:30Speaker 6: of those, yeah, you might want to make a list
- 23:31Speaker 6: as you're going through. Because they're constantly referring to people
- 23:33Speaker 6: by their last name. And I'm like, wait, who was
- 23:35Speaker 6: that guy? And it all makes sense and is structured
- 23:38Speaker 6: perfectly if you know everybody's last name. But I'm like, wait,
- 23:41Speaker 6: which guy are they going to find now? But yeah,
- 23:44Speaker 6: it's a great. And again, it was kind of cool
- 23:47Speaker 6: seeing because it is Christmas in L.A. So it's like,
- 23:51Speaker 6: it's seeing this weird little seedy part of L.A. back
- 23:53Speaker 6: in the day. It's a cool, again, everybody gives that
- 23:58Speaker 6: pass to Kevin Spacey. Well, now he's kind of become
- 24:01Speaker 6: silly because he makes movies where he turns into a cat.
- 24:04Speaker 6: But at the time, he was like so cool. And
- 24:07Speaker 6: then again, you go back and watch him in the
- 24:09Speaker 6: right role, like I'm like, damn, he is really fucking
- 24:12Speaker 6: cool in this movie. Like he had that persona.
- 24:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:16Speaker 6: He's almost kind of beat it to death at this point,
- 24:18Speaker 6: but that was sort of right in that stride of
- 24:21Speaker 6: him really finding his own, and everybody's starting to love him,
- 24:24Speaker 6: and he's really good in it, too. Everybody's just so
- 24:27Speaker 6: damn solid. So, thumbs up. Heliconfidential still holds up.
- 24:32Speaker 7: Hell yeah, it does. I guess so. Like I said,
- 24:34Speaker 7: it's been at least 15 years since I've seen it.
- 24:35Speaker 6: I can let you borrow it since you thought you
- 24:37Speaker 6: stole it anyway.
- 24:38Speaker 7: I might have a mysterious copy in there somewhere.
- 24:40Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 24:41Speaker 7: Maybe I did buy a copy. I don't remember.
- 24:43Speaker 6: It is worth owning. I need to upgrade to blue
- 24:45Speaker 6: right now.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Crazy. Chances are you'll probably have to watch it by yourself.
- 24:49Speaker 7: Why will you not watch it?
- 24:51Speaker 1: Why will you not watch Warriors of the Rainbow?
- 24:52Speaker 6: I think you've answered your own question.
- 24:56Speaker 7: You just said earlier that it was a historical drama.
- 25:00Speaker 7: That answers the.
- 25:00Speaker 6: Question right there. Maybe Warriors of Virtue, you can come
- 25:04Speaker 6: together and.
- 25:06Speaker 7: I don't know what that is. I feel like I do,
- 25:08Speaker 7: but I don't.
- 25:09Speaker 6: Have you seen that? I didn't watch it.
- 25:11Speaker 8: Is it that horrible one where the kids were like.
- 25:13Speaker 7: They're kangaroos.
- 25:14Speaker 6: Kangaroos, yeah.
- 25:16Speaker 7: I remember the action.
- 25:17Speaker 6: You might both be sucker enough to fall into that trap.
- 25:19Speaker 6: You told me.
- 25:20Speaker 7: This movie was depressing.
- 25:22Speaker 8: It is depressing, and it's sad, and it's historical, and
- 25:25Speaker 8: there's lots of beheadings.
- 25:27Speaker 7: And all kinds of crazy stuff. See, I'm okay with
- 25:29Speaker 7: the beheadings, but it's the sad and historical part that
- 25:32Speaker 7: you know you done lost. Well... And I don't like
- 25:34Speaker 7: depressing stuff.
- 25:35Speaker 1: I need to watch it.
- 25:36Speaker 8: So parts that I saw were awesome. So it was
- 25:40Speaker 8: beautiful shot beautifully. So, but if anybody wants to know,
- 25:44Speaker 8: there's a movie called warriors of the rainbow dealing with, uh,
- 25:49Speaker 8: the Japanese occupation of Taiwan, um.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Before world war two.
- 25:56Speaker 8: Um, and it's just about the Japanese, uh, basically going
- 26:01Speaker 8: in and, uh, Trying to take over Taiwan and them
- 26:07Speaker 8: losing pretty horribly because all the, I guess the tribe's people.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Pretty much beat them in the jungle. And the Japanese can't,
- 26:22Speaker 1: they can't hang with them in the jungle.
- 26:25Speaker 7: Was there a rumble?
- 26:26Speaker 1: There was a rumble in the jungle.
- 26:28Speaker 6: They didn't really have jungles, did they?
- 26:30Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 26:30Speaker 8: And so, yeah, the Japanese just kind of was like, well, fine,
- 26:34Speaker 8: then we'll just, you know, bomb you guys.
- 26:36Speaker 1: And so they apparently.
- 26:37Speaker 7: They worked for us.
- 26:38Speaker 6: Yeah, they... That was sort of their move. It's funny, like,
- 26:41Speaker 6: they didn't have a huge military because they're a tiny island, but, like,
- 26:44Speaker 6: their air force was pretty badass back in the day.
- 26:47Speaker 8: Well, I mean, compared to Taiwan, I mean, these were mostly,
- 26:52Speaker 8: you know, tribe people with spears and knives who went
- 26:55Speaker 8: up against guys with you know, guns and stuff.
- 26:58Speaker 7: Um, I'm going to get hate mail for saying that
- 27:00Speaker 7: worked for us. I don't know.
- 27:01Speaker 1: What?
- 27:03Speaker 7: You said bomb on my wall. It worked for us.
- 27:05Speaker 7: I'm still going to get so much hate mail over there.
- 27:07Speaker 1: From what?
- 27:08Speaker 6: A lot of people bomb things.
- 27:09Speaker 1: It's our, yeah, whatever.
- 27:11Speaker 6: It's our, our world is built around bombing each other. Yeah.
- 27:15Speaker 8: But no, it's, uh, from what I've seen of it,
- 27:19Speaker 8: actually one of my friends turned me on to it.
- 27:20Speaker 8: It looks like it's a very good movie and just
- 27:23Speaker 8: really powerful. Um, if you're into those kind of things,
- 27:27Speaker 8: which I am. So I'm probably going to watch it
- 27:30Speaker 8: whenever I get some time, free time.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Maybe this weekend. I can sit and watch it with
- 27:36Speaker 1: my mom, and she can yell at the screen.
- 27:39Speaker 6: Which I hear she does.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Yeah, she does that a lot.
- 27:45Speaker 6: All right. Are we going to go watch a movie now?
- 27:48Speaker 7: I suppose we can. Nothing historical or documentarial. It might
- 27:56Speaker 7: be an actual film. We can't say bad things about films.
- 28:00Speaker 6: This one I think you can speak freely about.
- 28:03Speaker 7: I don't have to be like knowing stuff.
- 28:07Speaker 3: No.
- 28:07Speaker 6: Not if you want to watch the one I brought.
- 28:14Speaker 6: We should go figure out what it.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Is we're going to watch.
- 28:16Speaker 6: We'll decide and then it'll be a surprise for you
- 28:19Speaker 6: if you didn't look at your player before you push play.
- 28:24Speaker 5: We'll be back.
- 29:23Speaker 3: Why not add to your enjoyment with a delicious confection
- 29:26Speaker 3: and drink at our attractive refreshment stand?

- 34:02Speaker 6: Amen.
- 34:09Speaker 5: It's time for Sofa Theater.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Don't answer it.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Don't answer it. Don't answer it. Your name is in
- 34:29Speaker 3: this book. It could happen to you. It starts as
- 34:34Speaker 3: a game. And there's no end in fright. Go ahead.
- 34:38Speaker 6: Close your eyes and pick a name. Pick a name?
- 34:40Speaker 7: Any name.
- 34:43Speaker 8: I saw what you did. And I know who you are.
- 34:48Speaker 3: I saw what you did.
- 34:49Speaker 7: I know who you are.
- 35:11Speaker 3: The dial clicks.
- 35:15Speaker 1: And the terror mounts.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Don't answer it.
- 35:24Speaker 7: See it.
- 35:26Speaker 2: If you hear a click when you answer the phone....
- 35:48Speaker 8: If you think somebody.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Followed you home.
- 35:55Speaker 7: In lipstick on the.
- 35:56Speaker 8: Mirror, the message.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Is clear Better.
- 36:03Speaker 7: Watch what you say, cause the walls have ears.
- 36:07Speaker 2: The weapon was love The victim, my heart Passion, the crime,
- 36:22Speaker 2: done in the dark. You think that you got away,
- 36:29Speaker 2: but there's one thing you missed. Cause I know who
- 36:37Speaker 2: you are and I saw.
- 36:42Speaker 7: What you did. Episode of, or not episode, but a
- 36:46Speaker 7: Fear Street book.
- 36:48Speaker 6: Yeah, didn't you say, oh yeah, it's the 50s. You
- 36:51Speaker 6: didn't say the year on this, right?
- 36:53Speaker 7: 65?
- 36:53Speaker 6: Yeah. It's just cheaper to use black and white film.
- 37:00Speaker 7: See, listen. It begins as an innocent prank when Dina
- 37:02Speaker 7: Martinson and her best friend, Jade Smith, make sexy phone
- 37:05Speaker 7: calls to the boys from school. But Dina's half-brother, Chuck,
- 37:07Speaker 7: catches them in the act and threatens to tell their
- 37:10Speaker 7: parents unless the girls let him in on the fun.
- 37:12Speaker 7: Chuck begins making random calls, threatening anyone who answers. It's
- 37:15Speaker 7: dangerous and exciting. They've been enjoying the publicity, the uproar
- 37:18Speaker 7: they've caused, until Chuck calls a number on Fear Street.
- 37:21Speaker 7: To his horror, Chuck realizes that he has called the
- 37:23Speaker 7: wrong number. The jokes are over when murder is on
- 37:26Speaker 7: the line. The murderer knows who they are and where
- 37:28Speaker 7: they live. And they have nowhere to call for help.
- 37:30Speaker 6: Dun dun dun.
- 37:32Speaker 7: Isn't that totally like.
- 37:33Speaker 6: Fear Street.
- 37:35Speaker 7: I'm telling you. See, I mean, look at him. It's
- 37:37Speaker 7: two girls, scantily clad, making phone calls late at night.
- 37:42Speaker 6: Dun dun dun.
- 37:43Speaker 7: There's no brother, but they had a sister in that one. See,
- 37:45Speaker 7: it's the same damn thing. R.L. Stine was watching this movie,
- 37:49Speaker 7: I'm pretty sure.
- 37:53Speaker 6: All right, we're back, and you fell right into my trap,
- 37:56Speaker 6: because we did watch the movie I brought. Suckers.
- 37:59Speaker 7: This is why I've been fighting it for so long, too.
- 38:01Speaker 7: That was a goddamn mess.
- 38:03Speaker 6: This week's Sofa Theater feature is I Saw What You Did.
- 38:08Speaker 6: But not I Know What You Did, and I Know
- 38:10Speaker 6: Who You Are, I mean. The year is 1965, even
- 38:15Speaker 6: though we said it looked like the 15th. And the
- 38:20Speaker 6: director is the impressive William Castle. And they plot, according
- 38:25Speaker 6: to IMDb.
- 38:26Speaker 7: There was a plot to this? They didn't just leave
- 38:28Speaker 7: the camera roll?
- 38:30Speaker 6: Teenagers Libby and Kit innocently spend an evening doing random
- 38:34Speaker 6: crank calls. These calls lead to murderous consequences.
- 38:42Speaker 7: It was the most cheerful murder and music i've ever experienced.
- 38:46Speaker 6: That was what i'm saying like that's what little i
- 38:49Speaker 6: had started watching this that first time i was just
- 38:51Speaker 6: like this is the most uneven tone of a thing
- 38:54Speaker 6: ever we said.
- 38:55Speaker 7: This movie was 65 yes her teenage friend was played
- 38:58Speaker 7: by a 26 year old so this follows in the
- 39:00Speaker 7: tradition of 90210.
- 39:02Speaker 6: Of all teen movies and.
- 39:04Speaker 7: Shows, of having people that are way into their 20s,
- 39:07Speaker 7: sometimes 30s.
- 39:08Speaker 6: Didn't I say that? As they were standing there, I
- 39:10Speaker 6: was like, what is she, 27? I was pretty close. Yeah.
- 39:14Speaker 6: Which one, though?
- 39:15Speaker 7: Her friend.
- 39:15Speaker 6: Libby or Kit?
- 39:16Speaker 7: Kit.
- 39:16Speaker 6: Because Kit definitely looked older.
- 39:18Speaker 7: Yeah, she was a friend. She was born in 1949.
- 39:22Speaker 6: Libby was like 20-something.
- 39:24Speaker 7: They don't have her age listed on here.
- 39:26Speaker 6: You don't need to know what Libby's age was.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Spoiler!
- 39:30Speaker 7: Alert!
- 39:30Speaker 6: Spoiler alert! We're going to totally run this movie.
- 39:33Speaker 7: But it's from 1965. So get on it.
- 39:36Speaker 6: Go watch it beforehand. You have been warned.
- 39:38Speaker 7: This movie was a train wreck. I don't even know
- 39:42Speaker 7: what the fuck happened.
- 39:43Speaker 6: I don't know. I enjoyed these films. old-timey train wrecks.
- 39:48Speaker 7: I do when they make sense or they have fun
- 39:50Speaker 7: or this is just like, what the fuck are we
- 39:51Speaker 7: even watching?
- 39:53Speaker 6: Sometimes the what the fuck part is the best part. Oh,
- 39:58Speaker 6: I mean.
- 39:59Speaker 2: I'm normal.
- 40:00Speaker 7: No, honey, back it on up.
- 40:02Speaker 6: I thought we decided you were the Libby of this bunch.
- 40:06Speaker 8: You were the Tess.
- 40:07Speaker 7: Tess. I'm not as annoying as she is, but.
- 40:12Speaker 2: I don't know about her.
- 40:13Speaker 6: You seem to think you're normal, but we all know better.
- 40:16Speaker 2: I know.
- 40:16Speaker 6: She was.
- 40:17Speaker 7: She was pretty.
- 40:18Speaker 6: I'm totally normal.
- 40:20Speaker 7: She even got me beat. I can't read those thermometers.
- 40:23Speaker 6: That's true. You're very special, but she was normal.
- 40:27Speaker 7: She seemed to think so.
- 40:28Speaker 6: As annoying movie kids go, I actually kind of liked
- 40:32Speaker 6: her by the end. She's ridiculous. And I will give them, like,
- 40:37Speaker 6: they kind of played off being sisters pretty well because
- 40:40Speaker 6: they were really insulting and, like.
- 40:43Speaker 7: You idiot.
- 40:44Speaker 6: They didn't, like, she didn't beat her the whole time.
- 40:46Speaker 6: It wasn't like they come down to fisticuffs, but they
- 40:49Speaker 6: were constantly.
- 40:50Speaker 7: She kind of had it coming, so.
- 40:51Speaker 6: They were constantly bickering just enough to be like, yeah,
- 40:54Speaker 6: I'm at least on board with the sister thing. They're
- 40:57Speaker 6: pulling that part off.
- 41:00Speaker 7: I like the goat.
- 41:02Speaker 6: That's his own thing right there. So, yeah. Just in general,
- 41:10Speaker 6: I think the whole tone of it is so weird
- 41:14Speaker 6: and inconsistent. The fact that, like, first of all, the title. Like,
- 41:18Speaker 6: is this the first time? Because I feel like I've
- 41:20Speaker 6: seen that. I know what you did and I saw
- 41:23Speaker 6: who you are. And every variation of that has turned up.
- 41:26Speaker 7: There's been like 50 billion different versions.
- 41:28Speaker 6: In tons of horror movies as, like, 70s and 80s
- 41:30Speaker 6: went on. So I was like, is this really the
- 41:32Speaker 6: first time that happened? I'm sure somebody will come through
- 41:35Speaker 6: with an answer to that question.
- 41:36Speaker 7: But.
- 41:37Speaker 6: In general, it still starts off as this very ominous,
- 41:40Speaker 6: very creepy, horror-themed kind of thing. And then immediately we get.
- 41:46Speaker 7: That was the most cheerful-est, teeny-bopper-est.
- 41:50Speaker 6: And the teeny-boppers on the phone.
- 41:51Speaker 7: Let's go to the beach music is what that was.
- 41:53Speaker 6: It's like teeny-boppers on the phone talking to each other.
- 41:56Speaker 6: We're going to have a sleepover.
- 41:57Speaker 7: Except for not, because her dad was pretty strict. He
- 41:59Speaker 7: didn't want to stay until 11.30. He was harsh.
- 42:02Speaker 6: Let me talk to him. I'm pretty persuasive.
- 42:05Speaker 7: I'm like, whoa.
- 42:06Speaker 6: What kind of a movie is that?
- 42:08Speaker 7: I thought it was going to be that kind of movie.
- 42:10Speaker 6: I would have brought my goat.
- 42:14Speaker 7: We already had their goat.
- 42:14Speaker 6: It's okay.
- 42:17Speaker 7: No need to bring your own goat. There was a
- 42:19Speaker 7: goat provided by this movie.
- 42:24Speaker 6: The fact that we get into that and it kind
- 42:26Speaker 6: of rides that out for 20 minutes or so of
- 42:30Speaker 6: goofy kids hanging out, even the prank phone calls. So
- 42:34Speaker 6: then we cut.
- 42:35Speaker 7: Little lamest prank phone calls, by the way. Fucking homeworking
- 42:39Speaker 7: phone calls is what them were.
- 42:40Speaker 6: That was a little uncalled for, yeah. As you realize,
- 42:42Speaker 6: they're just getting dudes into trouble all day long. And
- 42:45Speaker 6: some of them weren't even guys that did anything.
- 42:47Speaker 7: Bill never saw it coming.
- 42:50Speaker 5: No.
- 42:50Speaker 7: Bill has no idea what he's walking into when he
- 42:52Speaker 7: gets home.
- 42:53Speaker 6: He's screwed.
- 42:54Speaker 7: He is walking into a world of trouble.
- 42:56Speaker 6: But this also goes to prove just how bored kids
- 43:01Speaker 6: were back in the day.
- 43:02Speaker 7: I mean, it was 65. There was no internet. Holy shit.
- 43:05Speaker 6: If you had an iPad, those kids would all be distracted.
- 43:08Speaker 7: This whole shenanigans could have been avoided.
- 43:12Speaker 6: Tess would be off playing a video game, and the
- 43:15Speaker 6: other two would be watching YouTube videos or making YouTube videos.
- 43:19Speaker 6: I don't know. They'd all be doing their own thing
- 43:21Speaker 6: on their own iPad.
- 43:23Speaker 7: They'd be on Pinterest trying to look up how to
- 43:24Speaker 7: do their horror makeup a little bit better.
- 43:26Speaker 6: At least, I mean. But yeah, the more I watched this,
- 43:30Speaker 6: I was like, this really was the way that kids
- 43:32Speaker 6: operated back in the day because there was nothing to do.
- 43:35Speaker 7: I'm not even going to lie. I think me and
- 43:38Speaker 7: my cousin Aaron did the same kind of bullshit when
- 43:39Speaker 7: we were kids.
- 43:40Speaker 6: This does not surprise me.
- 43:41Speaker 7: I know.
- 43:41Speaker 6: The tales of Aaron precede him.
- 43:43Speaker 7: Yeah, I know. There were many an afternoon of calling
- 43:46Speaker 7: random numbers to very angry people because we'd call the
- 43:49Speaker 7: same number over and over and over again.
- 43:51Speaker 6: Jerks.
- 43:53Speaker 7: And we would deny. I don't know what you're talking about.
- 43:55Speaker 6: I'm looking for Steve. Is Steve there?
- 43:57Speaker 7: You just called. No, we didn't call. I swear we
- 43:59Speaker 7: didn't call.
- 43:59Speaker 1: You guys actually did that? Yeah.
- 44:01Speaker 6: Once again, kids that are not very good at this.
- 44:04Speaker 6: So this movie isn't that far-fetched.
- 44:06Speaker 7: We were the worst. We never got any killers that
- 44:09Speaker 7: I'm aware of.
- 44:09Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 44:11Speaker 7: You never know.
- 44:12Speaker 6: But that's the thing. So we were so knee-deep in
- 44:16Speaker 6: the dumb teenage nonsense.
- 44:18Speaker 7: I feel dumber for having heard their conversations.
- 44:21Speaker 6: But then we get to the other end of the
- 44:23Speaker 6: phone one time, and all of a sudden it's like,
- 44:27Speaker 6: Horrible murder. It's so dark compared to the nonsense we've
- 44:32Speaker 6: just had with the teenagers.
- 44:33Speaker 7: Let's take a second and talk about that lady's ass.
- 44:35Speaker 6: All right.
- 44:36Speaker 7: It was bootylicious.
- 44:39Speaker 6: My favorite was just that look she gave when she
- 44:41Speaker 6: was like, but I have to talk to him. And
- 44:44Speaker 6: she just looked at the phone like.
- 44:46Speaker 7: Bitch, I will choke you through this landline.
- 44:49Speaker 6: I am so sick of this dude anyway.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Fine.
- 44:51Speaker 6: Hold on. Let me go get him.
- 44:53Speaker 7: Like.
- 44:54Speaker 6: In that one look, like, she conveyed so much annoyance,
- 44:57Speaker 6: it was pretty impressive.
- 44:59Speaker 7: And she stormed away, and it's like, damn!
- 45:02Speaker 6: Misty was all about that ass.
- 45:03Speaker 7: I'm telling you, it was phenomenal. When you think of
- 45:05Speaker 7: 60s asses, you think of sad 60s asses. You don't
- 45:09Speaker 7: think of, like, it was round.
- 45:12Speaker 5: But now.
- 45:12Speaker 7: It was a but now ass.
- 45:15Speaker 6: You know?
- 45:16Speaker 7: Usually when you see people in the 50s and 60s,
- 45:18Speaker 7: they were not known for their shapely curves.
- 45:20Speaker 1: They were kind of flat.
- 45:21Speaker 7: They were kind of flat, misshapen.
- 45:23Speaker 1: And I think part of that was due to the underwear.
- 45:26Speaker 6: Well, they didn't have the.
- 45:28Speaker 7: Are you saying this lady was going commando? Is that
- 45:30Speaker 7: what you're trying to imply?
- 45:31Speaker 1: Quite possibly.
- 45:34Speaker 6: I mean, no wonder Steve was into her.
- 45:36Speaker 7: But apparently not for long because she was leaving him.
- 45:38Speaker 6: Well, everybody was kind of a jerk in this movie.
- 45:42Speaker 6: And crazy.
- 45:43Speaker 7: Steve, will you rush it up? I want to get
- 45:46Speaker 7: my things up.
- 45:58Speaker 6: You ape. You belong in a cage.
- 46:02Speaker 8: And you wonder why I'm leaving you.
- 46:06Speaker 7: You're not jealous.
- 46:08Speaker 2: You're not that normal. You're insane!
- 46:15Speaker 6: No! But that's the thing. It's such a weird tone
- 46:23Speaker 6: shift right there. It's like we get to the phone
- 46:26Speaker 6: and it cuts to that house and she's screaming at
- 46:29Speaker 6: him and he's being a jerk and then within seconds
- 46:32Speaker 6: he's murdering her and I'm like, wait, wait, wait. Why
- 46:34Speaker 6: are we just sitting on the floor having a peanut
- 46:36Speaker 6: butter sandwich? What's going on here? So... That's the part
- 46:41Speaker 6: the first time I was just like, what the hell
- 46:44Speaker 6: am I watching? Like, it's just so weird.
- 46:46Speaker 7: I said that repeatedly throughout the entire movie. What the
- 46:49Speaker 7: hell am I watching?
- 46:50Speaker 6: And then we haven't even gotten to the star of
- 46:53Speaker 6: the movie.
- 46:54Speaker 7: The goat? We already talked about the goat.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 46:56Speaker 6: The second billed star of the movie.
- 46:58Speaker 7: The dog?
- 46:59Speaker 6: The one that probably got this whole movie made. Miss
- 47:02Speaker 6: Joan Crawford.
- 47:04Speaker 7: Her cameo that... got stretched into the title character. She's
- 47:10Speaker 7: the main picture on this poster right here. She was
- 47:12Speaker 7: the headlining star, and she was in there for, what,
- 47:15Speaker 7: maybe 10 minutes tops?
- 47:17Speaker 6: Eh, it was probably 15, if you cut them all together.
- 47:20Speaker 6: But there was a stretch of a good 15 minutes
- 47:22Speaker 6: where she was really creepy.
- 47:24Speaker 7: It's pretty bad.
- 47:25Speaker 6: It's just her in general. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 47:27Speaker 6: It's pretty bad when she's out creeping the guy. You
- 47:30Speaker 6: just watched murder someone. You're just like, oh, oh, no,
- 47:34Speaker 6: you're way all up in his business, lady. Back off.
- 47:38Speaker 6: Just let him murder people in peace. God.
- 47:41Speaker 7: She had it coming, what happened to her.
- 47:43Speaker 6: But I mean, before we even got to that, like
- 47:45Speaker 6: as she walked in, I was like, what is she wearing?
- 47:49Speaker 6: It'd be different if there was some sort of context
- 47:52Speaker 6: because it just it looks like evening wear. It looks
- 47:54Speaker 6: like she's going out to a fancy ball of some sort,
- 47:57Speaker 6: even if you're just talking about the dress. Not to
- 47:59Speaker 6: mention the giant chandelier necklace that she's got going on
- 48:03Speaker 6: that is just huge that I believe you told me
- 48:06Speaker 6: as we were watching.
- 48:06Speaker 7: I looked up the trivia on the movie as we
- 48:09Speaker 7: were watching and apparently she supposedly supplied her entire wardrobe.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Her that dress.
- 48:15Speaker 7: Her that dress and that jewelry is from her own,
- 48:19Speaker 7: it's her own shit.
- 48:20Speaker 6: Haki collection. Mostly just the necklace. The dress might have been,
- 48:24Speaker 6: but again, it's like without that necklace, it's a huge
- 48:27Speaker 6: neckline area.
- 48:28Speaker 7: Maybe she had to wear that necklace to counterbalance the
- 48:30Speaker 7: weight of that hair that she had going on there.
- 48:33Speaker 7: The necklace going forward because the hair was pulling back
- 48:35Speaker 7: and without one or.
- 48:36Speaker 6: The other, it was just going to tip over. It
- 48:37Speaker 6: was semi-beehive-y, so yeah.
- 48:38Speaker 7: But it was beehive-y towards the back. It wasn't like up.
- 48:41Speaker 6: It wasn't straight up.
- 48:42Speaker 7: It was rear-facing.
- 48:43Speaker 6: Counterbalanced. Maybe it was.
- 48:45Speaker 8: It was like an alien head. I don't mean like
- 48:49Speaker 8: a Close Encounters alien. I mean like a alien xenomorph head.
- 48:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it kind of went way back.
- 48:56Speaker 6: It was really weird when that little head popped out
- 48:58Speaker 6: of her mouth.
- 49:00Speaker 7: She's always been weird looking. Has she ever been like hot?
- 49:05Speaker 6: She always kind of.
- 49:05Speaker 7: Looked like Joan Crawford. Poor thing.
- 49:09Speaker 6: But it is funny that this is like the tail
- 49:12Speaker 6: end of her career.
- 49:13Speaker 7: From what I read, this is also her last American
- 49:15Speaker 7: appearance in film. I think she did a couple, from
- 49:18Speaker 7: what I read on the internet, she did two more
- 49:19Speaker 7: You films after this, but this is her last hurrah
- 49:23Speaker 7: for the American film audience, and that's just.
- 49:25Speaker 6: There's a way to go out in style with Mr.
- 49:28Speaker 6: William Castle.
- 49:30Speaker 7: And that necklace.
- 49:33Speaker 6: But that's the thing. Why is she wearing that? It
- 49:36Speaker 6: makes no... Within the context.
- 49:38Speaker 7: Of what's going on... Does she wear the gloves in
- 49:40Speaker 7: the movie, too? I can't... On the cover, she's wearing
- 49:43Speaker 7: the gloves that go with the... And from here, it
- 49:45Speaker 7: looks like she's wearing a turban. Is her hair red?
- 49:47Speaker 7: It's red, yeah. I can't really tell what's going on.
- 49:50Speaker 1: No, she's wearing a turban.
- 49:51Speaker 6: It's black and white. You can't tell what her hair
- 49:53Speaker 6: looked like in that.
- 49:54Speaker 8: But.
- 49:57Speaker 6: Yeah, the fact that she's just sort of hanging around
- 49:59Speaker 6: her house... in an evening gown and giant necklace. I'm like,
- 50:05Speaker 6: if she would just come back from some sort of
- 50:06Speaker 6: event or something, it would make sense.
- 50:08Speaker 7: I think that's just what she does.
- 50:09Speaker 6: That's what I'm saying. It's even more disturbing that Joan
- 50:12Speaker 6: Crawford just sits around the house wearing this evening gown
- 50:15Speaker 6: and necklace. No, because I'm.
- 50:16Speaker 7: Pretty sure that's what Joan Crawford did, not just her
- 50:19Speaker 7: character later.
- 50:20Speaker 6: Oh, I'm sure.
- 50:21Speaker 7: I'm pretty sure that was the life that Joan Crawford,
- 50:24Speaker 7: when she wasn't busy beating her daughter with wire hangers.
- 50:27Speaker 6: Wire hangers. Because it's weird time-wise. You can never really
- 50:30Speaker 6: figure out what time it is in this movie anyway.
- 50:33Speaker 7: Like, as far as the time in the evening?
- 50:36Speaker 6: Yeah, the time frame of when it starts. Because even then,
- 50:40Speaker 6: like at the beginning when she comes in, I'm like,
- 50:41Speaker 6: what time is it? It's not like it's like a,
- 50:45Speaker 6: you know, it's different being dressed up all the time.
- 50:48Speaker 6: Because I made that comment when the dad drops off
- 50:50Speaker 6: What's her face? Kid. I'm just like, I'm just driving
- 50:53Speaker 6: around town in a full suit. Don't mind me.
- 50:55Speaker 7: That's what they did.
- 50:56Speaker 6: I'm an old dude. That's what we do. That's 65.
- 50:59Speaker 6: But this was like above. It's not like the June Cleaver. Like,
- 51:03Speaker 6: I'm dressed to the nines to make cookies. It's a
- 51:07Speaker 6: very different evening look. So I'm like it. it has
- 51:10Speaker 6: some sort of reason that you'd be dressed like that,
- 51:12Speaker 6: but she's just.
- 51:13Speaker 1: Sitting in her own house.
- 51:16Speaker 6: I know, drinking. And then, like, okay, at that point,
- 51:18Speaker 6: I'm like, well, maybe it wasn't that late. But after
- 51:21Speaker 6: he comes back from the Berrien drive, I'm like, it's
- 51:24Speaker 6: gotta be 10 o'clock at night. Why are you still
- 51:26Speaker 6: wandering around the neighborhood in this dress and giant necklace?
- 51:29Speaker 6: It makes no sense. Like, at least put some sweats on,
- 51:35Speaker 6: crazy old lady.
- 51:36Speaker 7: I don't think Joan Crawford owned sweats.
- 51:38Speaker 6: Probably not, but Still, there's got to be some sort
- 51:42Speaker 6: of evening attire that's a little more... Comfy? Relaxing.
- 51:46Speaker 7: Should I have a comfy bedazzled necklace or anything?
- 51:49Speaker 6: You know, you want to put on something to relax
- 51:51Speaker 6: in and make yourself a drink and narrate your life. Oh,
- 51:54Speaker 6: hold on.
- 51:55Speaker 7: During its original theatrical release, some theaters installed seatbelts so
- 51:59Speaker 7: you couldn't be shocked out of your seat by this film.
- 52:02Speaker 6: From what? From all the shockiness of their phone calls.
- 52:08Speaker 6: That creepy peanut butter sandwich.
- 52:11Speaker 7: Apparently Joan Crawford was paid $ 50, 000 for four days work.
- 52:16Speaker 6: William Castle, he knows what he's doing. He got the
- 52:19Speaker 6: name on the poster that he wanted.
- 52:20Speaker 8: $ 50, 000 for four days work?
- 52:24Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
- 52:24Speaker 7: Which is 1965, apparently.
- 52:26Speaker 6: 1965.
- 52:26Speaker 1: That's a pretty good rate. Yeah.
- 52:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:30Speaker 6: But yeah, just her.
- 52:33Speaker 7: In that.
- 52:33Speaker 6: Four days worth of work. The fact that everything she
- 52:36Speaker 6: does is so weird.
- 52:36Speaker 7: She out-creeps the killer.
- 52:38Speaker 6: I know. Well, it's just like I said, her narrating things.
- 52:42Speaker 6: She does it. It was so funny.
- 52:44Speaker 7: I'm going to pour this glass of scotch, and I'm
- 52:47Speaker 7: going to pour my... I'm going to join you, and
- 52:48Speaker 7: I'm going to have a drink. And I'm going to
- 52:49Speaker 7: drink it, and we're going to toast.
- 52:51Speaker 1: Yeah, and you almost feel bad for the killer.
- 52:53Speaker 6: No, you do.
- 52:54Speaker 8: You're like, dude, how did you get hooked up with
- 52:56Speaker 8: this bat shit crazy bitch?
- 52:58Speaker 6: I was like, you just stabbed what we assumed was
- 53:00Speaker 6: the terrible woman in your life. Turns out she was
- 53:03Speaker 6: probably the level-headed one, and according to Misty, had a
- 53:05Speaker 6: badow ass. Hell yeah, she did. So you killed the
- 53:09Speaker 6: more tolerable of the two, and now this crazy old
- 53:11Speaker 6: woman who lives next door to you... You're now stuck
- 53:14Speaker 6: in a sort of relationship with that we still.
- 53:16Speaker 8: She's trying to make out with him right after he
- 53:18Speaker 8: fucking gut stabs her. She is, because she leans forward
- 53:23Speaker 8: like she's trying to kiss him, and he's just kind
- 53:24Speaker 8: of like.
- 53:26Speaker 1: Get off me. Yeah, he kind of revolves his back like, whoa.
- 53:29Speaker 6: Crazy old lady, get off me. Why do you think
- 53:31Speaker 6: I stabbed you? You're a crazy old lady. But yeah,
- 53:35Speaker 6: it is like she's so pushy and so controlling. Literally,
- 53:40Speaker 6: I'm in control now.
- 53:42Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah.
- 53:42Speaker 1: She's like trying to blackmail him.
- 53:43Speaker 7: She literally says that.
- 53:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:45Speaker 6: I'm like, really?
- 53:45Speaker 7: You want to blackmail the guy that you know just
- 53:48Speaker 7: stabbed his soon-to-be ex wife?
- 53:49Speaker 6: From either end. As she throws out that scenario, I'm like, wait.
- 53:54Speaker 6: Why do either of you want to be in this
- 53:56Speaker 6: relationship right now? First of all, from her perspective, you
- 53:59Speaker 6: know he just murdered at least one person. He's a killer.
- 54:02Speaker 6: This is who you want to get hitched up with?
- 54:05Speaker 6: How desperate are you to not be a single 60-year-old woman?
- 54:08Speaker 6: But obviously pretty damn desperate. But on top of that,
- 54:11Speaker 6: I'm just like from his end, I'm like, she's like,
- 54:15Speaker 6: she's you're not even together and she's controlling everything you do.
- 54:20Speaker 6: So you're OK with even like before the blackmail. I
- 54:22Speaker 6: was like, why were you in a relationship with this woman?
- 54:25Speaker 6: She's so creepy and on top of you every second
- 54:29Speaker 6: of like, what are you doing now? Where are you going?
- 54:32Speaker 6: She was so creepy and in his business the whole time.
- 54:35Speaker 6: I'm like, how did it even get to this point?
- 54:37Speaker 6: Maybe you got drunk and hooked up one night, but
- 54:40Speaker 6: you need to distance yourself from your creepy ass neighbor. Yeah.
- 54:46Speaker 7: Yeah. She had it coming.
- 54:49Speaker 6: Well, we skipped the first murder because we also get
- 54:51Speaker 6: a reverse psycho. He's in the shower. He pulls her
- 54:54Speaker 6: in and murders her, the fully clothed person in the
- 54:57Speaker 6: shower while he's naked. So like five years later, William
- 55:01Speaker 6: Castle was always kind of like so wanting to be
- 55:04Speaker 6: a Hitchcock. So he wanted, that's why he kept gimmicking
- 55:07Speaker 6: up his.
- 55:07Speaker 7: Tell me she ain't a honey. Come on now.
- 55:10Speaker 8: Then he threw her through the shower door.
- 55:14Speaker 6: Which really just caused more problems than anything else.
- 55:15Speaker 7: That's the chick with the butt.
- 55:17Speaker 1: I can't really tell because she's sitting on it.
- 55:20Speaker 6: At that point, yeah, it's like she was already dead.
- 55:22Speaker 6: What's the point of throwing her through the shower tonight?
- 55:24Speaker 6: You just made a big mess for you to clean up.
- 55:26Speaker 7: It was glass made out of sugar back then because
- 55:28Speaker 7: everything fucking broke like that. Everything was instantaneously. You look
- 55:31Speaker 7: at that fucking window wrong.
- 55:33Speaker 6: It broke. I see you over there gnawing on the
- 55:37Speaker 6: glass now.
- 55:40Speaker 8: Get off of it.
- 55:40Speaker 6: We're trying to. Never mind.
- 55:43Speaker 7: But yeah, the murder scene was all right for. I
- 55:46Speaker 7: was disturbed because the angle of the shower head, the
- 55:50Speaker 7: water was hitting above where the tile was. I'm like,
- 55:53Speaker 7: that's going to lead to mildew and mold. And you're
- 55:55Speaker 7: going to end up with black mold and you're going
- 55:56Speaker 7: to end up with health issues that are probably not
- 55:59Speaker 7: covered by your insurance.
- 56:01Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, we would worry if you weren't already
- 56:02Speaker 6: a murderous bastard.
- 56:04Speaker 7: You got that too, I guess.
- 56:08Speaker 6: But yeah, I mean, that was... Again, it's so aping Hitchcock.
- 56:13Speaker 6: Even the cuts, they have to strategically cut on him, too,
- 56:16Speaker 6: because he's naked the whole time. But you still have
- 56:20Speaker 6: to get to the point that you can tell that
- 56:22Speaker 6: he's actually stabbing her, so they have to keep it
- 56:25Speaker 6: context enough that you can see what's going on, but
- 56:28Speaker 6: cut back and forth enough that you don't have to
- 56:29Speaker 6: look at that weird dude naked.
- 56:32Speaker 7: But he was so mysterious and sexy.
- 56:34Speaker 6: Mysterious. That became our running theme the whole time. It's like, Well,
- 56:38Speaker 6: you were like, why do these girls think that guy's anything? Like,
- 56:41Speaker 6: because he's mysterious.
- 56:43Speaker 7: Because a lot of times, the people from the 30s
- 56:46Speaker 7: and 40s and 50s, they had a different look.
- 56:48Speaker 6: It's definitely a different look for everybody.
- 56:50Speaker 8: At that era.
- 56:51Speaker 7: And sometimes you go like, I don't understand, because is
- 56:53Speaker 7: that supposed to be attractive? I don't, what?
- 56:57Speaker 6: Again, there's different criteria when you're a teenage girl in 1965. Basically,
- 57:02Speaker 6: all you need is a dude who can drive. And
- 57:04Speaker 6: be mysterious. And a deep voice. And not really old
- 57:08Speaker 6: like 40. Oh, my God. Gross. Later, they were like, ugh,
- 57:13Speaker 6: he's like 40. Gross.
- 57:14Speaker 1: And then we realized we're over 40. I didn't think
- 57:17Speaker 1: about that either.
- 57:18Speaker 6: I was like, ew. God, he's 40.
- 57:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I was like, dude, that guy's old.
- 57:22Speaker 6: That guy's really old.
- 57:24Speaker 2: Oh, wait a minute.
- 57:25Speaker 6: This movie's not fun at all now.
- 57:28Speaker 7: He looked at least like three or four years older
- 57:30Speaker 7: than you guys.
- 57:31Speaker 1: He looked like he was 60.
- 57:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 57:33Speaker 6: Well, that balances out the fact that Joan Crawford looked
- 57:37Speaker 6: like she was 80 and she was only 60.
- 57:38Speaker 1: Good Lord, yeah.
- 57:39Speaker 6: That's what I said. I was like, she does always
- 57:41Speaker 6: look like that. Like, she came out when she was
- 57:44Speaker 6: 20 looking like she was 45. So, like, it's a
- 57:47Speaker 6: sliding scale of looking old.
- 57:48Speaker 1: I mean. She was constantly pawing at him.
- 57:51Speaker 7: Yeah, she really.
- 57:52Speaker 6: Like, again, like. The fact that she out-creeps the murderer.
- 57:55Speaker 6: I know. The whole time you're like, oh, that poor Steve.
- 57:59Speaker 6: I know he just killed two women, but still.
- 58:01Speaker 1: When's he going to kill her?
- 58:02Speaker 6: Come on, just kill her. Just kill her. And he does.
- 58:07Speaker 1: And you're like, see? That took care of it. Good
- 58:10Speaker 1: for you, Steve.
- 58:12Speaker 7: And he was actually, the guy who played Steve was
- 58:14Speaker 7: actually 50 in this, not 40. So you ought to
- 58:17Speaker 7: feel a little bit better. Maybe, but not really.
- 58:20Speaker 6: Ew, really old. Like 23. Oh my God.
- 58:24Speaker 1: My favorite one is the, ew, you're like somebody's dad.
- 58:30Speaker 6: What? Yeah, actually. Dilf, is that a thing?
- 58:35Speaker 7: Hold on. Here's one of his quotes from, this is
- 58:38Speaker 7: not at all related to the movie. At age 45,
- 58:41Speaker 7: on his affair with 16-year-old Tuesday Weld, if there wasn't
- 58:44Speaker 7: such a difference in our ages, I'd have asked her
- 58:46Speaker 7: to marry me. That and her mother are the only
- 58:49Speaker 7: things that stop me.
- 58:50Speaker 6: Oh, and her mother with a shotgun are really the
- 58:53Speaker 6: only thing that stopped our loving relationship.
- 58:56Speaker 7: He was 45, she was 16.
- 58:58Speaker 1: Oh, good lord, that's too young.
- 59:00Speaker 6: That seems fine.
- 59:01Speaker 7: It was Tuesday Weld, though she was gorgeous.
- 59:03Speaker 1: Who's Tuesday Weld?
- 59:05Speaker 7: She was in an Elvis movie. That's what I like
- 59:06Speaker 7: to think.
- 59:07Speaker 6: I don't remember.
- 59:08Speaker 7: She was really pretty. I'll look her up.
- 59:11Speaker 1: Yeah, look her up, because I don't feel like looking
- 59:12Speaker 1: her up.
- 59:13Speaker 7: I mean, she was like a cute kind of pretty.
- 59:16Speaker 7: She was like, you probably won't think she's cute. I'll
- 59:18Speaker 7: find a good picture. None of these are good pictures.
- 59:24Speaker 8: She's really cute, but none of these are good pictures
- 59:26Speaker 8: of her.
- 59:27Speaker 7: Well, you're not going to think she's cute because she's blonde.
- 59:29Speaker 7: You usually don't like blondes.
- 59:30Speaker 1: It depends.
- 59:33Speaker 7: I think she's adorable.
- 59:34Speaker 1: Thank you, but she's 16.
- 59:34Speaker 7: I don't know if she's 16 in this picture.
- 59:37Speaker 1: Yeah, she's okay.
- 59:40Speaker 6: She's all right.
- 59:43Speaker 8: I like my girls to at least have maybe a job.
- 59:46Speaker 1: She had a job.
- 59:48Speaker 7: She was acting.
- 59:48Speaker 1: And a car.
- 59:49Speaker 7: She might have had a car.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Be old enough to vote.
- 59:52Speaker 6: How can I freeload off her if she doesn't have
- 59:54Speaker 6: a job? I'm going to crash on your couch for
- 59:57Speaker 6: the next year. A little bit of responsibilities. Is that okay?
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: You know? Me and one of my buddies had a
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: discussion about this a couple days ago. Just about maybe.
- 1:00:10Speaker 8: Maybe it's just us as far as not really going
- 1:00:12Speaker 8: after really young girls just because they're.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: Generally kind of annoying.
- 1:00:17Speaker 7: You go after old ladies like me.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: You're not. I was still younger than me. But, uh, yeah.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Gotta have your own job. Maybe a house. House would
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: be cool. Checking count.
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: I'm fine with 16-year-old Tuesday. Well, if that's a, I mean,
- 1:00:42Speaker 6: if you can hook that up, but I feel like
- 1:00:45Speaker 6: that's not gonna work out these days.
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: No.
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: Not gonna happen. So, we didn't really get into, um,
- 1:00:55Speaker 6: The Viking pirate.
- 1:00:57Speaker 7: The Viking pirate. I was like, so like, what? I
- 1:01:00Speaker 7: don't even... Leaf Erickson? Isn't that like a... Wasn't that
- 1:01:05Speaker 7: a Viking? Or was that like.
- 1:01:06Speaker 6: He was a discoverer.
- 1:01:08Speaker 7: Is he related to Leaf Garrett?
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: No.
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: A young Leaf Garrett. Yeah, for some reason we decided
- 1:01:16Speaker 6: that it wasn't just that he was a Viking. Somehow
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: he was also a pirate. Oh, yeah.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: I don't remember how that.
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: Viking pirate.
- 1:01:22Speaker 7: And that's all the name and I'm like, it's like
- 1:01:24Speaker 7: a pirate but from like Viking times, yeah.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: She just kind of muddled.
- 1:01:29Speaker 6: It all together.
- 1:01:31Speaker 7: I'm like, if there can be vampires, there can be
- 1:01:33Speaker 7: Viking pirates or something like that. It's been a long
- 1:01:39Speaker 7: day and I've had a lot of candy.
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: What do you want?
- 1:01:42Speaker 7: Apparently, Leif Erikson was in a lot of movies.
- 1:01:46Speaker 6: Wouldn't you be if your name was Leif Erikson?
- 1:01:48Speaker 7: I wonder what his real name is. It sounds fake.
- 1:01:52Speaker 8: No.
- 1:01:52Speaker 7: It is fake.
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: What's his name?
- 1:01:55Speaker 7: William Y. Wycliffe.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: I was going to say Fred Williamson, but.
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: I think that one's taken.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Yeah. Fred Williamson.
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: Leif Erikson is Fred Williamson. As.
- 1:02:12Speaker 7: I have a question.
- 1:02:14Speaker 6: Raise your hand. Misty?
- 1:02:16Speaker 7: What the fuck was that? Was that the barn door?
- 1:02:19Speaker 6: Yeah. Ghost barn door?
- 1:02:20Speaker 8: They didn't really get into the barn door being always
- 1:02:24Speaker 8: just slamming by.
- 1:02:26Speaker 6: Itself yeah it'd be different if it like was one
- 1:02:29Speaker 6: like they set it up so that you watched it
- 1:02:31Speaker 6: do a kind of normal like oh that door just
- 1:02:34Speaker 6: sort of closes on its own and it sticks or
- 1:02:36Speaker 6: like some level because the barn's on a hill but
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: like it specifically saying like it slammed closed like it
- 1:02:42Speaker 6: was an episode of scooby-doo and.
- 1:02:43Speaker 7: I can understand i can understand almost if the door
- 1:02:46Speaker 7: opened outward where the wind could catch it and blow
- 1:02:48Speaker 7: it shut but the door opened inward.
- 1:02:51Speaker 6: And a pony pushed it.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:02:53Speaker 7: You don't blame Gypsy for this. Gypsy had nothing to
- 1:02:56Speaker 7: do with that door. And they would even reference the
- 1:02:59Speaker 7: door and then it would slam shut. And I'm like,
- 1:03:02Speaker 7: what the fuck just happened? Is there a ghost in
- 1:03:04Speaker 7: this barn that we don't know about? What the hell
- 1:03:06Speaker 7: is going on?
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: No, the door is one of the characters.
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: Ghost barn.
- 1:03:10Speaker 7: That was one thing that kind of bugged me. I'm like,
- 1:03:12Speaker 7: are they going to go somewhere else with this? Is
- 1:03:13Speaker 7: there going to have a supernatural door element?
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: No, it's just so that you know that the door slammed.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: locks itself.
- 1:03:21Speaker 6: But why?
- 1:03:22Speaker 7: What was the point of the door shutting?
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: Absolutely no point.
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: I mean, the most we could come up with is
- 1:03:27Speaker 6: the kid couldn't get out of the barn when they
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: were looking for her because the door was stuck.
- 1:03:32Speaker 8: Yeah, because when you have a bad dream and you're scared,
- 1:03:36Speaker 8: what you want to do, you run outside to the
- 1:03:39Speaker 8: edge of the field.
- 1:03:40Speaker 7: Through the woods.
- 1:03:41Speaker 8: Through the woods in an old creepy barn where the
- 1:03:43Speaker 8: door slams shut and you hang.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: Out with a horse.
- 1:03:47Speaker 6: Gypsy will protect you.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: In the dark. With no flashlight.
- 1:03:52Speaker 7: That kid was normal.
- 1:03:53Speaker 6: Normal.
- 1:03:54Speaker 7: She's totally normal.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: That kid was stupid.
- 1:03:57Speaker 7: As her sister told her frequently throughout the movie.
- 1:04:00Speaker 6: Yeah, you're stupid. Idiot.
- 1:04:02Speaker 7: Idiot. Yeah.
- 1:04:04Speaker 6: Well, I also liked while we're out there in that
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: creepy barn, the creepy fog was pretty awesome.
- 1:04:09Speaker 7: Yeah, the one that just kind of sat there.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: I think the house made the fog.
- 1:04:12Speaker 6: Oh, you did?
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: It just kind of rolled out from the house, yeah.
- 1:04:15Speaker 6: There was a lot of creepy fog in this movie,
- 1:04:16Speaker 6: I have to say. The whole second half became lots
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: and lots of creepy fog, and I'm okay with that.
- 1:04:22Speaker 7: It's built right underneath Joan Crawford.
- 1:04:24Speaker 6: Right there, yeah. A film by William Castle starring Joan
- 1:04:27Speaker 6: Crawford and Creepy Fog.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: And Gypsy the Horse.
- 1:04:29Speaker 6: Special guest appearance by Ghost Door.
- 1:04:34Speaker 7: Did the fog close the door? Is that what happened?
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: It might have been. Maybe this was like a precursor
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: to the fog. Like it was ghost vikings that were
- 1:04:42Speaker 6: hiding in the fog.
- 1:04:45Speaker 7: Oh, Lord. That was such a mess.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: These kids are just stupid.
- 1:04:48Speaker 7: Everything about these girls was stupid.
- 1:04:50Speaker 6: It was stupid.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: I was actually sad that they didn't get killed.
- 1:04:54Speaker 7: I kept waiting. I'm like, please, please. If there is
- 1:04:57Speaker 7: a reason for me to watch this movie, it will
- 1:04:59Speaker 7: be complete knowing that one of these girls has been murdered.
- 1:05:02Speaker 7: And I'll be damned.
- 1:05:03Speaker 6: It never happened.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: I'll root for Steve. Kill them all.
- 1:05:06Speaker 6: That was the thing. As we got towards the end,
- 1:05:08Speaker 6: I was like, Steve seems pretty level-headed for a murderer.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: As he came and brought the thing back, and then
- 1:05:15Speaker 6: he realized, oh, it is just dumb kids playing a prank,
- 1:05:17Speaker 6: and they really don't know what I did. He was
- 1:05:19Speaker 6: just like, well... All right, I guess there's no point
- 1:05:22Speaker 6: in telling your parents over just a silly prank. So
- 1:05:25Speaker 6: you stay off the phone, kid.
- 1:05:26Speaker 8: I like his no use turning this into a federal case.
- 1:05:29Speaker 6: He really became pretty cool. Not only was he the adult,
- 1:05:34Speaker 6: but he was the cool adult that was kind of
- 1:05:36Speaker 6: going to let stuff slide. He's like, all right, you
- 1:05:38Speaker 6: rascally kids, you just stay out of trouble then. And
- 1:05:41Speaker 6: then had she just shut her mouth, that would have
- 1:05:44Speaker 6: been the end of it. He just would have left.
- 1:05:45Speaker 6: But then- She had to get on the phone and
- 1:05:47Speaker 6: go be like, wait a minute, the one 40-year-old dude
- 1:05:50Speaker 6: in the county probably killed somebody.
- 1:05:53Speaker 7: The one tallish 40-year-old dark-haired man in all the world.
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: There's only one.
- 1:05:58Speaker 8: And I turned around and tried to call the operator.
- 1:06:01Speaker 6: Hello, operator, give me the cops.
- 1:06:03Speaker 7: With the open window that's made of, like, fucking.
- 1:06:07Speaker 7: Seriously, he barely touched. The thinnest glass. He barely touched
- 1:06:10Speaker 7: that window.
- 1:06:11Speaker 8: But the funny thing is, he still had a really
- 1:06:13Speaker 8: hard time getting in the window.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: He almost fell. It looks like he tried.
- 1:06:16Speaker 6: To get in and fell out.
- 1:06:17Speaker 7: The frame was trying to attack him.
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: It was like the whole frame fell off at once.
- 1:06:21Speaker 6: I'm like, who hung that up, Dad? Should we barracks
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: and put.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: That up there?
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: That makes sense, because the damn doors broke, too.
- 1:06:30Speaker 7: The goat hung the window up.
- 1:06:33Speaker 8: And then she's trying to sneak around from the guy,
- 1:06:35Speaker 8: you know, the normal... The killer's out there. The killer's
- 1:06:40Speaker 8: out there. You know he's out there.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: What do you do?
- 1:06:42Speaker 6: Where are you?
- 1:06:43Speaker 8: Tess!
- 1:06:45Speaker 6: Quick!
- 1:06:46Speaker 8: Get to the car!
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: Nobody can see me or hear my big, loud yelling.
- 1:06:51Speaker 7: The fog muffled it for her.
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: The more, by the end, again, I was like, no.
- 1:06:59Speaker 6: I mean, as much as your comment is they're stupid, yes,
- 1:07:03Speaker 6: they are. But I'm like, this is kind of the
- 1:07:05Speaker 6: stupid shit kids did. And still do. Now it's just
- 1:07:08Speaker 6: a little more complicated because now kids would just knife people.
- 1:07:12Speaker 6: I don't know. They would just be way more horrible.
- 1:07:14Speaker 6: I feel like I did a lot of stupid stuff.
- 1:07:17Speaker 6: I'm not saying I don't do it now, but We
- 1:07:19Speaker 6: did a lot of dumb stuff when we were kids.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: I did dumb stuff, but.
- 1:07:22Speaker 7: It wasn't to this degree. Well, you couldn't do this
- 1:07:23Speaker 7: level of dumb shit now because everybody has caller ID.
- 1:07:26Speaker 7: I guess you could find a way to block your
- 1:07:28Speaker 7: number or anything. But most kids today that would do
- 1:07:30Speaker 7: stupid stuff like this to begin with aren't smart enough
- 1:07:32Speaker 7: to block their own number.
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: I mean, again, this image just hit me. Me and
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: one of these kids that lived on my street that
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: would have been another idiot kid were trying to figure
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: out which houses on the street were haunted. Again, I
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: can see my influence of Scooby-Doo. But, so, there were
- 1:07:48Speaker 6: several of them that we had decided were haunted houses.
- 1:07:50Speaker 6: But one of them was, like, the next street over,
- 1:07:52Speaker 6: there was this huge old house. It really probably was, like,
- 1:07:55Speaker 6: the house that owned all the land around it at
- 1:07:57Speaker 6: one time. Because it was, like, five times bigger than
- 1:07:59Speaker 6: all the other houses around it. But it was.
- 1:08:02Speaker 7: Didn't you take me by there one time?
- 1:08:03Speaker 6: Like, a long... Now it's condos. Big surprise. But probably, yeah,
- 1:08:07Speaker 6: it was, like, a really cool old house. And it
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: was way bigger than the rest. So that one was
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: definitely the main haunted house.
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: But.
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: Not just once, like, repeatedly, we would go over there
- 1:08:18Speaker 6: by ourselves, like, I don't know where my parents thought
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: I was supposed to be, hell if I know. Again, now,
- 1:08:23Speaker 6: helicopter parents are all over their kids, but I just
- 1:08:25Speaker 6: went out and played, and I was gone.
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: Oh, shit.
- 1:08:28Speaker 6: So, I was a street over, sneaking around their house,
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: mind you, in the middle.
- 1:08:32Speaker 7: Of the day.
- 1:08:32Speaker 6: Like, we were just like, let's go see what's back
- 1:08:35Speaker 6: behind the house, and like. If I looked out now
- 1:08:37Speaker 6: and there were kids running through my backyard, it's okay
- 1:08:40Speaker 6: to shoot them, right? Because I'm pretty sure that's how
- 1:08:42Speaker 6: that would go down now, but.
- 1:08:43Speaker 7: You'd at least have the BB gun.
- 1:08:44Speaker 6: We were all over their property.
- 1:08:47Speaker 8: That's why I got the airsoft, so I can't kill anybody.
- 1:08:51Speaker 6: That's what I'm saying, though. I'm like, we did a
- 1:08:53Speaker 6: lot of stupid stuff.
- 1:08:54Speaker 7: We did the same thing when.
- 1:08:54Speaker 6: We were kids. Yeah, just for the sake of... We
- 1:08:56Speaker 6: were kids and we were dumb and we were bored.
- 1:08:58Speaker 7: We'd go exploring on the property of the Coon Hunters Club.
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: Good idea.
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: They seem level-headed.
- 1:09:05Speaker 7: Yeah, we'd go out there. Because we lived out in
- 1:09:08Speaker 7: the woods. We lived on the country. So it's like
- 1:09:10Speaker 7: we were on everybody's property.
- 1:09:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:09:13Speaker 7: All the time. When you're a kid, you're dumb. You
- 1:09:16Speaker 7: just do stupid shit like that. It was different when
- 1:09:19Speaker 7: we were kids. We could do stuff like that.
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: They're even more beyond your years.
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: I've got shot at by rock salt a couple times.
- 1:09:26Speaker 7: Are you a demon?
- 1:09:27Speaker 8: No, that's what farmers used to load their shotguns with,
- 1:09:31Speaker 8: rock salt.
- 1:09:31Speaker 7: And that's what Sam and Dean shoot demons with.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: They would shoot you.
- 1:09:34Speaker 8: You might be a demon.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: It wouldn't kill you. It would hurt like hell.
- 1:09:39Speaker 8: It would hurt like fucking hell, and you would stay
- 1:09:42Speaker 8: off their fucking property. But when we were kids, we
- 1:09:45Speaker 8: used to do that shit, because we were ninjas.
- 1:09:47Speaker 6: This is the 80s now. You obviously were a child
- 1:09:49Speaker 6: of the 80s.
- 1:09:50Speaker 8: We got swept up in the huge ninja craze.
- 1:09:53Speaker 7: Ninja mania. Me and Aaron would sit on the side
- 1:09:54Speaker 7: of the road and throw pebbles at cars as they
- 1:09:56Speaker 7: would go by.
- 1:09:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: You guys are cool.
- 1:09:58Speaker 6: And moon churches.
- 1:09:59Speaker 7: Yeah, that was Aaron. Aaron mooned the church. Because there
- 1:10:02Speaker 7: was one car that came back after us after Aaron
- 1:10:04Speaker 7: threw a slightly bigger than a pebble at it.
- 1:10:06Speaker 6: It was a boulder.
- 1:10:07Speaker 7: We ended up hiding in like the, I don't know if...
- 1:10:10Speaker 7: If you remember going out towards Grandma's house, there would
- 1:10:12Speaker 7: be like these culverts that went underneath the road.
- 1:10:14Speaker 8: Did you guys hide in a culvert? We did.
- 1:10:19Speaker 7: Because you could hear them like yelling for us from
- 1:10:22Speaker 7: the road. I'm like, God, how did we not get
- 1:10:23Speaker 7: hurt at some point? Yeah, my cousin Erin did move
- 1:10:26Speaker 7: in the church once.
- 1:10:28Speaker 8: That was a small church.
- 1:10:29Speaker 7: It was a tiny church. It was like, Smaller than
- 1:10:32Speaker 7: our house, probably. Yeah. Because, like, the podium's faced. There's
- 1:10:36Speaker 7: a fire and brimstone.
- 1:10:38Speaker 8: Yeah, paint me an image. It's one of those old-fashioned
- 1:10:42Speaker 8: Southern Baptist one-room churches that.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not very big.
- 1:10:48Speaker 8: Maybe enough to seat, what, like 20 people?
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: 30 people?
- 1:10:52Speaker 6: Maybe. It's tiny.
- 1:10:54Speaker 7: And it's like.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: Doors were open.
- 1:10:57Speaker 7: And it's like... The pulpit. Is it a pulpit?
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the pulpit.
- 1:11:00Speaker 7: And she's right there preaching, and I'm like, this isn't
- 1:11:03Speaker 7: a big neighborhood. She's going to know who that is.
- 1:11:05Speaker 6: They know who those two troublemaking kids that throw rocks
- 1:11:08Speaker 6: at their cars are anyway.
- 1:11:11Speaker 7: And for him to just walk up there, moaned her
- 1:11:13Speaker 7: right in the middle of the service, and then we
- 1:11:15Speaker 7: ran off giggling like, they're never going to know who
- 1:11:17Speaker 7: it was.
- 1:11:18Speaker 6: Giggling teenagers. We had a lot of that in this movie.
- 1:11:20Speaker 7: I'm not even sure we were teenagers yet at this point. Yeah,
- 1:11:25Speaker 7: good times.
- 1:11:26Speaker 6: People do stupid things. I was thinking some of the
- 1:11:29Speaker 6: stuff I did when I wasn't even a kid anymore. Like,
- 1:11:33Speaker 6: I had a job, and I'm thinking of some of
- 1:11:34Speaker 6: this stupid shit. When we went investigating the sewer system. Yeah,
- 1:11:40Speaker 6: that's really stupid, by the way. Don't do that.
- 1:11:43Speaker 8: Stuff I was doing would put me on a terrorist
- 1:11:48Speaker 8: watch list for all the crap that I blew up.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: I mean, we were making.
- 1:11:54Speaker 8: bombs, rockets, RC bombs, all kinds of stuff.
- 1:11:58Speaker 7: You set a field on fire?
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: I set a field on fire one time. Yeah, that
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: was crazy.
- 1:12:02Speaker 8: But we were, this is like a pre-9-11, you could
- 1:12:05Speaker 8: do this stuff.
- 1:12:06Speaker 6: Oh, could you?
- 1:12:07Speaker 7: Could you now?
- 1:12:08Speaker 6: Obviously you could.
- 1:12:09Speaker 8: No, we could because like, we were blowing stuff up.
- 1:12:13Speaker 7: Is this stuff you're going to want the world to know?
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Ah, they don't care.
- 1:12:16Speaker 8: You know, this happened a long time ago when I
- 1:12:17Speaker 8: was doing this dumb kid stuff. Yeah, dumb kid stuff.
- 1:12:21Speaker 8: This isn't firecrackers now. This is, like taking tree stump
- 1:12:24Speaker 8: remover and making full-on bombs. But to give you an
- 1:12:30Speaker 8: idea of the time period, we were blowing stuff up
- 1:12:34Speaker 8: in the backyard. I think three houses down from my
- 1:12:38Speaker 8: friend's house, there was a cop that worked night shift.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: Woke him up out of a dead sleep.
- 1:12:45Speaker 8: He comes outside and goes, what the fuck are you
- 1:12:47Speaker 8: kids doing?
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: We're out there.
- 1:12:49Speaker 6: We're like, we're making bombs. We're blowing stuff up.
- 1:12:51Speaker 8: And he was like, just shook his head. And he goes, kids,
- 1:12:55Speaker 8: just don't hurt yourselves.
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: And then he went back to sleep.
- 1:13:00Speaker 6: Ah, the 80s.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: Ah, the 80s. We set the creek on fire. I
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: remember that.
- 1:13:06Speaker 6: Did you put anything in it, or was it already
- 1:13:08Speaker 6: so poisoned with chemicals that it just lit?
- 1:13:11Speaker 8: We dumped a lot of gasoline in the creek and
- 1:13:15Speaker 8: then set it on fire.
- 1:13:16Speaker 7: And now the EPA is.
- 1:13:17Speaker 6: Very socially conscious of you.
- 1:13:19Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: Socially conscious. There was no such thing back then.
- 1:13:23Speaker 7: Obviously not. They were building a house two doors down
- 1:13:27Speaker 7: from where my grandma lived, and all they had was
- 1:13:29Speaker 7: the frame and the foundation, and Aaron went in there
- 1:13:31Speaker 7: and pooped. Right in the middle of the floor.
- 1:13:35Speaker 6: He was a classy, classy boy.
- 1:13:38Speaker 8: Somebody probably thought it was a dog or something.
- 1:13:44Speaker 6: Like, look at that big dog turd.
- 1:13:46Speaker 7: The chances are he went and got some, like, leaves
- 1:13:49Speaker 7: and spelled words in it or something.
- 1:13:53Speaker 6: This dog can spell!
- 1:13:54Speaker 8: Holy shit, literally.
- 1:14:01Speaker 7: Here's the reason I'm the only one that survived my childhood.
- 1:14:04Speaker 7: That's true.
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: It's the sad thing. Because you're normal.
- 1:14:12Speaker 7: I'm not the one eating weird caramel corn with cheese.
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: My mom made.
- 1:14:22Speaker 7: This. Chocolate, nuts, caramel corn, cheese.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: And white cheddar cheese that's in it. I love my
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: mom to death.
- 1:14:30Speaker 8: But sometimes she makes some really weird foods.
- 1:14:34Speaker 6: You were gifted this for the holidays.
- 1:14:36Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:14:37Speaker 8: I'm surprised this doesn't have hot peppers in it.
- 1:14:39Speaker 7: You just haven't gotten to that piece yet.
- 1:14:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: I haven't gotten to that piece yet.
- 1:14:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: It's caramel corn.
- 1:14:46Speaker 8: I think any nuts that were left over in the cupboard.
- 1:14:49Speaker 8: Cause there's peanuts, cashews, almonds.
- 1:14:54Speaker 6: Um, I like the look of what the fuck is that?
- 1:14:58Speaker 8: I'm not sure what this is. It's a chunk of something.
- 1:15:00Speaker 8: There was a piece of chocolate in here.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: White cheddar Cheez-Its.
- 1:15:07Speaker 7: One of these things is not like the other.
- 1:15:09Speaker 6: All of these things are not like the other.
- 1:15:11Speaker 7: I was like, what is this?
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: It's chocolate.
- 1:15:12Speaker 7: At least most of these things I can kind of
- 1:15:14Speaker 7: see together, like the caramel corn and the nuts and
- 1:15:16Speaker 7: the chocolate and maybe. The cheddar cheese, the cheese, it's not.
- 1:15:21Speaker 6: So much, actually, no.
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: The taste does not blend. Because I thought, I was like,
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: you know what? I'll give my mom the benefit of
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: the doubt.
- 1:15:27Speaker 7: Maybe she knows something you don't know. Maybe she knows
- 1:15:29Speaker 7: a secret.
- 1:15:29Speaker 8: Maybe she knows something that I do not know.
- 1:15:32Speaker 6: Sweet and savory mixture is going to come together and
- 1:15:34Speaker 6: you won't believe it.
- 1:15:35Speaker 8: Well, no, Thai food is a lot like that because
- 1:15:38Speaker 8: it's like, there's a lot of hot and You know,
- 1:15:42Speaker 8: sweet and sour and spicy and, you know, a lot
- 1:15:46Speaker 8: of that stuff goes on.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: And it works.
- 1:15:48Speaker 7: How about this? Does this work? Does this work? Is
- 1:15:51Speaker 7: this good? Is it delicious?
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: This is like an AMC pacer. It looks good on paper.
- 1:16:00Speaker 7: No, it doesn't. There's no way that even.
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: Okay, it doesn't even look good on paper.
- 1:16:03Speaker 6: Well, again, look at your face. It doesn't look good.
- 1:16:05Speaker 7: No.
- 1:16:06Speaker 6: It looks like it might be functional as a thing.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: Yeah, you're like, this might work.
- 1:16:10Speaker 6: This bowl might be a snack.
- 1:16:11Speaker 7: This might work.
- 1:16:12Speaker 6: I could eat it. Yeah. And then you get midway in,
- 1:16:14Speaker 6: you're like, no. No.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: It's not working.
- 1:16:16Speaker 6: Something ain't working.
- 1:16:19Speaker 7: Which reminds me, what was peanut butter in 65 beta?
- 1:16:21Speaker 7: Because it was really smeary and gross looking.
- 1:16:24Speaker 6: I think she'd already pre-mixed it with the jelly.
- 1:16:26Speaker 7: Oh, is that what it was?
- 1:16:27Speaker 6: It was a very smeary jelly.
- 1:16:29Speaker 7: She didn't mention it being jelly. She just said she
- 1:16:31Speaker 7: had a peanut butter sandwich.
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: It could be like.
- 1:16:32Speaker 6: I think she did bring up peanut butter and jelly.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: Think about it. Think about it. Peanut butter. Okay.
- 1:16:37Speaker 8: You know the peanut butter that I get. It's natural
- 1:16:39Speaker 8: peanut butter. It's not processed peanut butter. So in the 60s,
- 1:16:43Speaker 8: it was probably natural peanut butter. They probably had the
- 1:16:47Speaker 8: oils and shit like in it. And it was real runny.
- 1:16:49Speaker 8: That's the way my peanut butter is.
- 1:16:51Speaker 6: I'm pretty sure there were two jars sitting out that
- 1:16:53Speaker 6: second time she was in the kitchen making this up one.
- 1:16:57Speaker 8: She was getting peanut butter and jelly that time.
- 1:17:00Speaker 7: Because I was trying to tie it back into the movie. Oh,
- 1:17:02Speaker 7: now you look even more confused. Was there something else
- 1:17:06Speaker 7: in there? Did you find the hot peppers?
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: I think this is peanut butter.
- 1:17:12Speaker 6: Speaking of, what are the odds you just hit a
- 1:17:16Speaker 6: chunk of peanut butter in your... Fiddle faddle.
- 1:17:19Speaker 8: I don't even know if I want to call it
- 1:17:21Speaker 8: fiddle faddle.
- 1:17:22Speaker 7: Fiddle faddle cracker dip?
- 1:17:23Speaker 6: DIY fiddle faddle. How do you even make peanut butter
- 1:17:32Speaker 6: chunk itself?
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: I have no idea.
- 1:17:38Speaker 6: Just be thankful.
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: And that's milk chocolate.
- 1:17:41Speaker 6: Just be thankful you're not eating those fruitcake cookies in
- 1:17:44Speaker 6: front of me.
- 1:17:45Speaker 7: We're saving those for you.
- 1:17:46Speaker 8: My mom is under the assumption that everybody loves fruitcake.
- 1:17:51Speaker 6: I thought we all decided as a country we all
- 1:17:53Speaker 6: hate fruitcake, and we don't ever eat it. We just
- 1:17:55Speaker 6: re-gift it to other people and then, like, laugh to ourselves.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: She didn't get that memo.
- 1:18:00Speaker 6: Oh.
- 1:18:01Speaker 8: We really should send that back around. She doesn't understand
- 1:18:03Speaker 8: the concept of, you know, oh, fruitcake.
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: Okay, send it to the Johnsons.
- 1:18:05Speaker 7: Great. He knows you want one. There's a whole bag
- 1:18:16Speaker 7: of them right there. Fruity deliciousness.
- 1:18:18Speaker 6: It might not be fruitcake.
- 1:18:19Speaker 7: What might it be then?
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: It could be gummy bears.
- 1:18:22Speaker 7: I wouldn't put it past your mom to make gummy
- 1:18:24Speaker 7: bear cookies.
- 1:18:25Speaker 6: You would be. Having just made weird cookies, I don't
- 1:18:28Speaker 6: know that gummy bears are going to work very well
- 1:18:30Speaker 6: in cookies.
- 1:18:31Speaker 7: Will they maintain their consistency?
- 1:18:32Speaker 6: Probably not. I feel like they're going to melt and
- 1:18:34Speaker 6: be a big gooey mess and screw up your batter.
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:18:40Speaker 6: Stick with the Wookiee Cookies.
- 1:18:42Speaker 8: No, mine and my mom, because they live out in
- 1:18:44Speaker 8: the middle of nowhere. So instead of going to the store,
- 1:18:46Speaker 8: she'll look around in the cupboard and go, oh, this
- 1:18:48Speaker 8: will make a good cookie.
- 1:18:51Speaker 6: Speaking of that, once again, as soon as I got
- 1:18:53Speaker 6: to this movie, I was just like, what the.
- 1:18:55Speaker 7: Hell does this guy do?
- 1:18:56Speaker 6: Because that's a nice ass house out in the middle
- 1:18:59Speaker 6: of nowhere. Like it's. 15 minutes for her just to
- 1:19:02Speaker 6: describe the directions on how to get there, but I'm like, that.
- 1:19:05Speaker 7: And this girl was not taking notes, so there's no
- 1:19:07Speaker 7: way that she could have got there.
- 1:19:08Speaker 6: That's why I was like, just Google Maps it.
- 1:19:09Speaker 8: Well, it must have been something big because he had
- 1:19:11Speaker 8: to drive.
- 1:19:12Speaker 6: 90 minutes? No, it was longer than that, wasn't it?
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: No, he said it was an hour away.
- 1:19:17Speaker 7: Yeah. They went 90 minutes to go just to hang
- 1:19:19Speaker 7: out with their friends.
- 1:19:19Speaker 6: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: Oh, I thought he went to a business meeting.
- 1:19:22Speaker 6: But it was business and pleasure.
- 1:19:24Speaker 7: Is that what they spent the night?
- 1:19:26Speaker 6: Swingers. Swingers.
- 1:19:27Speaker 7: Is that what that was?
- 1:19:30Speaker 6: That's why they were upset that these damn kids were
- 1:19:32Speaker 6: interrupting their evening out. Oh, ew.
- 1:19:36Speaker 7: Parents doing it.
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: 60s, key party.
- 1:19:39Speaker 6: This was the 60s. Mm-hmm. Those are the most buttoned
- 1:19:46Speaker 6: down people I've ever seen. This was the least interesting
- 1:19:49Speaker 6: key party ever.
- 1:19:51Speaker 7: I bet Joan Crawford was a swinger.
- 1:19:53Speaker 6: Oh, I'm sure she was. Just based on her weird
- 1:19:56Speaker 6: performance here.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: My friend's parents were into that.
- 1:20:01Speaker 8: The key parties and swapping and stuff.
- 1:20:03Speaker 6: Swinging.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: Swinging.
- 1:20:05Speaker 8: Back in the late 70s, early 80s. Of course, I
- 1:20:10Speaker 8: knew it, but he didn't know it because we were
- 1:20:13Speaker 8: at that age where I kind of already knew about
- 1:20:17Speaker 8: sex and stuff like that, and he was still kind
- 1:20:19Speaker 8: of like, you know.
- 1:20:21Speaker 7: Oblivious.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: Oblivious. He was still Tonka Trucks and Go-Bots.
- 1:20:24Speaker 6: Amen to his bliss.
- 1:20:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:20:26Speaker 8: What's this weird keychain that my parents got, you know?
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: Guys playing leapfrog.
- 1:20:31Speaker 6: Don't ask any questions, Tommy. Don't ask any questions.
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: It's not what they're doing.
- 1:20:38Speaker 8: Mommy and Daddy have a special photo album that I'm
- 1:20:40Speaker 8: not allowed to look at.
- 1:20:40Speaker 7: It's all their friends. Girls.
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: Well, I'm pretty sure he turned out to be a
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: serial killer, so.
- 1:20:52Speaker 6: Well, you got that going for you.
- 1:20:54Speaker 7: Your friend or the.
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: My friend.
- 1:20:57Speaker 6: Oh, it was. Judy.
- 1:20:59Speaker 8: No names.
- 1:21:00Speaker 7: Beep it out.
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: Tommy.
- 1:21:02Speaker 6: Judy. Judy. No name.
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: He might actually be a serial killer, for real.
- 1:21:09Speaker 6: That really is our bleep, by the way.
- 1:21:10Speaker 8: No, no, for realsies, he might be, because, like, last
- 1:21:14Speaker 8: I heard, he was, one of my friends was one
- 1:21:17Speaker 8: of his instructors in college, and he was telling me that,
- 1:21:22Speaker 8: my friend that was his instructor was telling me that
- 1:21:24Speaker 8: he was following girls home.
- 1:21:27Speaker 6: He's just making sure they got home safe.
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: All the way to Bardstown, Kentucky.
- 1:21:31Speaker 6: He's like a guardian angel.
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. Drives like two hours out of his way.
- 1:21:36Speaker 6: He's a creepy guardian angel.
- 1:21:37Speaker 8: That shows up at their places of work.
- 1:21:40Speaker 6: He's just thorough.
- 1:21:41Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:21:42Speaker 5: Creepy guardian angel.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: Yeah, really.
- 1:21:48Speaker 7: Good times.
- 1:21:49Speaker 6: So, I like that in the end we get lessons.
- 1:21:54Speaker 6: We do.
- 1:21:54Speaker 7: Don't mess around with the phone.
- 1:21:56Speaker 6: You kids stay off the phone. And quit your screwing around.
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: Stay out of my damn yard.
- 1:22:03Speaker 6: Get your act together, and then you can grow up
- 1:22:05Speaker 6: and get a job like your dumb parents.
- 1:22:08Speaker 7: I like how it's like they just survived this incident.
- 1:22:11Speaker 7: She's in the middle of getting choked. Spoiler alert. This
- 1:22:14Speaker 7: movie's from 1965. If you haven't seen it, whatever. He's
- 1:22:17Speaker 7: in the car choking her, and he gets shot. And
- 1:22:20Speaker 7: it's all like, ah! And then they start laughing. Because
- 1:22:25Speaker 7: they've learned their lesson. Oh, we'll never use the phone again.
- 1:22:28Speaker 8: And then the happy music kicks in.
- 1:22:31Speaker 7: It does, like, instantly. I'm like, what the?
- 1:22:33Speaker 8: Meanwhile, you just about got your fucking life snuffed out.
- 1:22:37Speaker 8: The bad guy's in the backseat bleeding out from a
- 1:22:39Speaker 8: gunshot wound in your car.
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: You know, but all, you know, hunky-dory.
- 1:22:46Speaker 7: Because we're never going to use that phone again.
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: Daggone it.
- 1:22:50Speaker 7: I'm like, that's really how you're going to end this?
- 1:22:53Speaker 7: With them giggling like a bunch of little school girls?
- 1:22:56Speaker 7: They are a bunch of little school girls that learned
- 1:22:59Speaker 7: their lesson. Oh, my God. To not go peeping in
- 1:23:03Speaker 7: weirdos' windows?
- 1:23:05Speaker 6: I don't know. Everybody was kind of a weird peeper
- 1:23:07Speaker 6: in this movie.
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: She was.
- 1:23:08Speaker 7: Everybody was.
- 1:23:09Speaker 6: The girl was when she got to his house, and
- 1:23:12Speaker 6: then he was when he got there, and Joan was
- 1:23:14Speaker 6: peeping on him the whole damn movie. Every scene that
- 1:23:18Speaker 6: she was in, which was one and a half, She
- 1:23:20Speaker 6: was peeping on that dude.
- 1:23:21Speaker 7: Libby was the worst peeper, by the way. She was
- 1:23:23Speaker 7: knocking shit over. Then getting accosted by crazy-ass Joan Crawford.
- 1:23:33Speaker 7: You little tramp.
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: But Tess was a good hider.
- 1:24:05Speaker 7: Not really. She was a shitty hider. I want to
- 1:24:07Speaker 7: hide in this closet, and then as soon as he
- 1:24:08Speaker 7: turns around, I'm going to peek back past him. I'm
- 1:24:10Speaker 7: going to make him back and hang out here.
- 1:24:11Speaker 6: That was the best shot of the movie, probably. That
- 1:24:14Speaker 6: weird forced perspective deal of, like, except, like, Tess is
- 1:24:19Speaker 6: staring at the camera the whole time. Which I was, like,
- 1:24:23Speaker 6: trying to decide, was that on purpose, or was he
- 1:24:25Speaker 6: just not paying attention?
- 1:24:28Speaker 7: Are you dying?
- 1:24:29Speaker 6: Maybe.
- 1:24:30Speaker 7: Do you need some peanut butter? Whatever the fuck that is.
- 1:24:35Speaker 4: No.
- 1:24:36Speaker 7: There's some peanut butter brittle. There's peanut brittle up there, too.
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 1:24:39Speaker 6: That might kill somebody.
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: If you can put weird stuff in the peanut brittle.
- 1:24:43Speaker 7: Is there jelly in there?
- 1:24:44Speaker 6: No. That would save you a step. There's chocolate.
- 1:24:49Speaker 7: Is there any Cheez-Its in.
- 1:24:50Speaker 6: The peanut brittle?
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: And almonds, I think.
- 1:24:53Speaker 6: Here's a Dorito.
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:24:55Speaker 7: Mine's got egg in it. Yeah.
- 1:24:57Speaker 6: I found a nickel.
- 1:25:00Speaker 7: Here's a rock in mine.
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: I'm just happy there weren't a lot of Cheez-Its in
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: this one.
- 1:25:08Speaker 7: You got some of mine that.
- 1:25:09Speaker 6: Looks Cheez-It free.
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: No, yours is Cheez-It free.
- 1:25:12Speaker 7: Oh, I don't deserve Cheez-Its? Is that what you're telling me?
- 1:25:14Speaker 6: No, she knows you're.
- 1:25:15Speaker 8: Not as daring as I am. You're not as open
- 1:25:20Speaker 8: to the experience.
- 1:25:21Speaker 7: Of Cheez-Its.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: Of Cheez-Its and your fiddle fowl.
- 1:25:25Speaker 6: Man, you're really a swinger.
- 1:25:28Speaker 7: You're a food swinger.
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: Milk chocolate and peanut butter.
- 1:25:35Speaker 7: You got some on your lip.
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: And popcorn.
- 1:25:39Speaker 7: What the hell was that?
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: I don't even know what that taste was.
- 1:25:46Speaker 6: What a wonderful new taste you've created.
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: You're right.
- 1:25:51Speaker 6: So, anything else to pass along about this fine film
- 1:25:55Speaker 6: that we've decided to go with? This is a creepy
- 1:25:59Speaker 6: poster here.
- 1:26:01Speaker 7: Judging by that poster, none of that stuff happened.
- 1:26:04Speaker 6: They hold a phone at one point.
- 1:26:06Speaker 7: There were no people in phones.
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: Nope.
- 1:26:08Speaker 6: This girl right here that doesn't look anything like her
- 1:26:11Speaker 6: is getting strangled, which did happen.
- 1:26:13Speaker 7: Let me see this.
- 1:26:14Speaker 6: There are eyeballs.
- 1:26:15Speaker 8: For a couple seconds.
- 1:26:17Speaker 6: People have eyeballs.
- 1:26:19Speaker 7: None of those eyeballs look familiar.
- 1:26:20Speaker 6: It does not look anything like Libby, though, does it?
- 1:26:21Speaker 3: No.
- 1:26:23Speaker 7: It looks like Ginger from Gilligan's Island.
- 1:26:26Speaker 6: She can get strangled. Yeah.
- 1:26:27Speaker 7: She kind of got to come in. She's a bitch.
- 1:26:29Speaker 6: But Marianne is awesome.
- 1:26:31Speaker 7: She looks like Tina Louise, but she's not Tina Louise.
- 1:26:33Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: It doesn't look right.
- 1:26:36Speaker 7: She doesn't look like a small child. Well, not really small.
- 1:26:38Speaker 7: She's like a teenager played by a 40-year-old.
- 1:26:42Speaker 5: Ew, gross.
- 1:26:42Speaker 6: 40.
- 1:26:44Speaker 7: Well, she's got man hands, too.
- 1:26:45Speaker 8: Dude, I'd be pissed.
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: Fucking calling up here.
- 1:26:49Speaker 8: Causing problems.
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: Getting you in trouble over stupid shit.
- 1:26:53Speaker 7: Oh, can you imagine the amount of trouble you would
- 1:26:55Speaker 7: be in if your fake girlfriend... Hi, is Jay there?
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:26:59Speaker 6: He's so mysterious. You got the right dude.
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: Pissed off.
- 1:27:04Speaker 6: Did he threaten to stab you? Because that's more.
- 1:27:06Speaker 7: Accurate, actually.
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: Shit pisses me off. It's like one of my friends
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: posted this fucking video, okay? I like car stuff, you know?
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: And so he posted this video. It was supposed to be...
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: It was.
- 1:27:19Speaker 8: exhaust system on a hot rod. And it was like,
- 1:27:23Speaker 8: turn it up, because it sounds awesome when he opens
- 1:27:26Speaker 8: the baffles.
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: And I was like, hell yeah, man. I had baffles
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: on my hot rod. I want to hear it.
- 1:27:30Speaker 6: Is there a screaming ghost?
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: No, it was.
- 1:27:34Speaker 6: I hate those videos so much.
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it's worse. It's the car, and it's like.
- 1:27:40Speaker 8: And then he goes to open the baffles, and you're
- 1:27:42Speaker 8: waiting for this awesome exhaust note.
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: And it's... Some.
- 1:27:49Speaker 8: Girl who's... I'd say a moaning whore.
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: A moaning whore, yeah.
- 1:27:53Speaker 8: Probably a screaming orgasm is what it is, basically. So
- 1:27:57Speaker 8: you've got your.
- 1:27:58Speaker 6: So you're fucking a car. That's hot.
- 1:28:00Speaker 8: Basically, you're listening to the car, so I'm hearing engine
- 1:28:04Speaker 8: noises and then Misty in the other room is hearing.
- 1:28:07Speaker 7: What are you listening to?
- 1:28:08Speaker 6: Are you watching porn?
- 1:28:09Speaker 8: I'm like, no.
- 1:28:10Speaker 6: Yes, but that's not the point.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: Not that kind of porn, damn it.
- 1:28:13Speaker 7: It's usually gun porn or car porn, motorcycle porn.
- 1:28:18Speaker 6: You might be doing it wrong. So this is why
- 1:28:22Speaker 6: they invented caller ID.
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: What's that callback thing?
- 1:28:27Speaker 6: Internet. What is that?
- 1:28:29Speaker 8: It used to be able to like Star 69.
- 1:28:31Speaker 6: Is that what it was?
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: 6ix9ine would call back?
- 1:28:36Speaker 6: That's it. Say we roll on out on Star 69
- 1:28:38Speaker 6: and get out of here.
- 1:28:39Speaker 8: Hell yeah.
- 1:28:41Speaker 6: Because i think that's i think that's my takeaway with
- 1:28:43Speaker 6: this movie is it's it's cheesy and somehow because it's
- 1:28:49Speaker 6: 1965 it's more charming Charming, really? Yeah. Again, that's why
- 1:28:53Speaker 6: I like the creepy fog and the cheesy William Castle direction.
- 1:29:01Speaker 6: Modern movies that are bad just get on my nerves
- 1:29:03Speaker 6: and I can't handle them. But something about older bad
- 1:29:06Speaker 6: movies or arguably bad movies, there's just something fun about
- 1:29:10Speaker 6: them that I'm on board with. I think that's my takeaway.
- 1:29:17Speaker 6: And you loved it.
- 1:29:19Speaker 7: I'm still not really sure how I feel about this movie.
- 1:29:23Speaker 7: There are a lot of movies around the same time
- 1:29:25Speaker 7: that came out in the same genre that I enjoyed
- 1:29:27Speaker 7: way more than this movie.
- 1:29:29Speaker 6: I would also agree with that. But this one's fun
- 1:29:33Speaker 6: because it's ridiculous.
- 1:29:35Speaker 7: I like that she kept calling her sister stupid. That
- 1:29:37Speaker 7: part was pretty fun too. The whole thing about the
- 1:29:40Speaker 7: sister insisting that she's normal was probably the highlight of
- 1:29:44Speaker 7: the film. And knowing how much I dislike kids, that
- 1:29:47Speaker 7: tells you something.
- 1:29:48Speaker 6: It's also because you're normal. You're totally normal.
- 1:29:53Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:29:54Speaker 6: Thank you for joining us on this fine I Saw
- 1:29:58Speaker 6: What You Did episode. Otherwise, that about does it. We
- 1:30:01Speaker 6: will return next time, same geek feed. Thanks for listening.
- 1:30:31Speaker 7: I saw what.
- 1:30:32Speaker 6: You did, and I know your name.
- 1:30:38Speaker 8: And I'm sorry, baby, but I'm giving you the blame.
- 1:30:45Speaker 7: Don't you go on lying.
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: Trying to.
- 1:30:53Speaker 7: Put me down.
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: Just because you love a man, and when I run
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: around crying.
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: I can't understand it.
- 1:31:07Speaker 6: You put up a fight.
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: You don't want your man to walk the streets at night.
- 1:31:18Speaker 6: I just gotta watch.
- 1:31:21Speaker 7: Till you say it again.
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: Yes, I'm nobody's fool. And I know your name. Yeah.
- 1:31:32Speaker 6: I know your name.
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Oh, you're cool now Yeah, I'm putting it
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: on the line I've made some.
- 1:32:22Speaker 7: Mistakes now I've got a decision in my mind But
- 1:32:28Speaker 7: I feel.
- 1:32:30Speaker 6: Sorry for you So I try.
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: And explain Yes, I saw what you.
- 1:32:40Speaker 7: Did Anything else on your colon paper?
- 1:33:04Speaker 6: How?
- 1:33:06Speaker 7: What?
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: Colon pal.
- 1:33:08Speaker 7: That's horrible.
- 1:33:11Speaker 6: You gave me colon paper. I did.
- 1:33:14Speaker 7: Thank the health fair.
