- 0:00Speaker 1: 97.1 Hank FM with Annie and Cole. Yeah, one day down.
- 0:05Speaker 1: If you're counting down to the weekend, just four more
- 0:09Speaker 1: to go.
- 0:09Speaker 2: So close.
- 0:09Speaker 3: So close. You know, it's bad if on a Tuesday
- 0:13Speaker 3: you're already like, is.
- 0:14Speaker 4: It the weekend already?
- 0:15Speaker 3: You know what?
- 0:16Speaker 4: I have said this so many times that I think,
- 0:19Speaker 4: I don't think Monday is the weekend. Or Tuesday's the
- 0:21Speaker 4: worst day of the week. I think Wednesday's the worst
- 0:22Speaker 4: day of the week.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Because you're just there and you're like.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Because I think, yeah, Monday you still got a little
- 0:26Speaker 4: bit like of energy from the weekend. Tuesday, you're just
- 0:29Speaker 4: kind of like figuring out what's going on. Wednesday's just
- 0:31Speaker 4: dumb in the middle. But Thursday, you see like the
- 0:34Speaker 4: light at the end of the tunnel.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Okay.
- 0:36Speaker 1: All right.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Well, it's Annie and Cole. Thank you for starting your
- 0:38Speaker 3: dumb Tuesday.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Wednesday's dumb. Tuesday's okay.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Tuesday's confusing. Tuesdays are confusing. I think we just decided.
- 0:45Speaker 1: But we're bribing you. We're bribing you with good things
- 0:49Speaker 1: to wake up and get your day started.
- 0:50Speaker 5: Money.
- 0:51Speaker 4: New Country Cash.
- 0:52Speaker 3: $ 8. 50 this morning.
- 0:53Speaker 4: We'll tell you what time to be listening. For your name,
- 0:55Speaker 4: we have transfer. You're in orchestra tickets. Don't forget, we've
- 0:58Speaker 4: got Hanksgiving tickets this weekend at a ticket drop. All
- 1:01Speaker 4: those details on our website, hankfm.com.
- 1:03Speaker 5: Annie and Cole. They did what?
- 1:07Speaker 4: A woman in Pennsylvania arrested after a bizarre confrontation that
- 1:13Speaker 4: she had with an Uber Eats delivery robot, where she
- 1:19Speaker 4: repeatedly blocked the robot's path and ignored multiple commands from
- 1:23Speaker 4: officers to move and let the robot do its thing. Uh,
- 1:29Speaker 4: it is one of my favorite, like running jokes in
- 1:32Speaker 4: a TV show. Um, platonic with seth rogan and rose
- 1:37Speaker 4: burn right yeah where he is always like kicking over
- 1:42Speaker 4: delivery robots it's funny every.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Time i told a story when you're out last week
- 1:47Speaker 1: that i had to go to the hospital to go
- 1:50Speaker 1: get a test done i'm okay but i had to
- 1:52Speaker 1: go get a test done and they scheduled me at
- 1:53Speaker 1: 7 0 5 p.m.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Not AM.
- 1:56Speaker 1: And so when I went in, there was no one
- 1:59Speaker 1: working in the hospital, like no one at the information desk,
- 2:01Speaker 1: no one anywhere. It was just a bunch of cleaning
- 2:04Speaker 1: robots cleaning the floor. Every time I turned, there was
- 2:07Speaker 1: a robot coming at me, and it was the creepiest thing.
- 2:10Speaker 3: I could see why you might try to fight one.
- 2:13Speaker 2: $ 1, 000.
- 2:13Speaker 1: That is where the New Country Cash jackpot sits today.
- 2:19Speaker 3: $ 1, 000 Tuesday.
- 2:20Speaker 4: I mean.
- 2:25Speaker 4: That's great.
- 2:26Speaker 3: I want to win it.
- 2:27Speaker 4: I know we couldn't quite kick off your week with
- 2:30Speaker 4: $ 500 yesterday, but like a day later and double the money.
- 2:34Speaker 4: That sounds pretty nice too. A thousand bucks up for
- 2:36Speaker 4: grabs today. Eight 50. We'll tell you when to be
- 2:38Speaker 4: listening for your name.
- 2:39Speaker 3: I saw this list, and I want to put us
- 2:42Speaker 3: both to the test.
- 2:43Speaker 1: How boomer do you think you are when it comes
- 2:46Speaker 1: to your purse or wallet? They have eight things that
- 2:50Speaker 1: boomers and Gen X still have in their purse or
- 2:52Speaker 1: wallet that younger people don't.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:56Speaker 4: I have a couple of thoughts. I can think of
- 2:59Speaker 4: one right off the bat that I probably do have
- 3:01Speaker 4: in my wallet. I don't know if this is part
- 3:03Speaker 4: of the list. I'll wait. I'll wait.
- 3:05Speaker 5: Okay.
- 3:05Speaker 3: I'm looking at this. I'm going to guess you have
- 3:07Speaker 3: two out of eight.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I might have more. We'll get to it coming up.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Be an inkhole.
- 3:15Speaker 5: So shocking it'll make your jaw drop. He clicked on
- 3:18Speaker 5: it so you don't have to. It's Clickbait Cole on
- 3:23Speaker 5: Hank FM.
- 3:23Speaker 3: I'm stealing your.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Your thunder there. What the heck?
- 3:28Speaker 4: I did it while you were gone, too.
- 3:29Speaker 3: I was like, Cole's not even here, and I'm going
- 3:31Speaker 3: to click on this. I'm putting you to the test, Mr.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Clickbait Cole.
- 3:34Speaker 1: This is something usually you would be flipping through and
- 3:36Speaker 1: testing me, so I want to test you this morning.
- 3:40Speaker 3: There's this list.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Going around saying if you have these eight things in
- 3:44Speaker 1: your wallet or your purse, you are a boomer.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Okay. I think I can guess... Why? Here's my other
- 3:53Speaker 4: one that I don't know if it's on the list
- 3:54Speaker 4: because it's not technically in anything. But is it like
- 3:57Speaker 4: the wallet itself? Because I feel like I have this
- 4:00Speaker 4: like big old foldable wallet that I'm always my wife's
- 4:04Speaker 4: always making fun of me for. But I like it.
- 4:07Speaker 4: And I feel like the new thing is just a
- 4:09Speaker 4: clip or something on the back of your phone.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Also, I mean, yours isn't that thick, so it's OK.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Like usually when you have that old ones, they.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Get thicker and thicker and thicker. The Seinfeld joke.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Um, no, the old wallet isn't on there.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:22Speaker 4: My other guess is the one that I do have
- 4:26Speaker 4: on here is I have cash in my wallet. That's
- 4:28Speaker 4: definitely on the list. Young people don't carry cash.
- 4:30Speaker 3: No, they don't even know what cash is.
- 4:32Speaker 4: No, I do have cash in my wallet. Okay.
- 4:34Speaker 3: So I knew you would have that one.
- 4:36Speaker 5: Okay.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I guess you'd have two out of eight. Let's see
- 4:38Speaker 1: if you have any of the other ones. Obviously you're
- 4:40Speaker 1: not going to fit a checkbook in your wallet.
- 4:42Speaker 2: No.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Do you own a checkbook?
- 4:45Speaker 5: Yes.
- 4:47Speaker 4: I think I know where it's at.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:50Speaker 3: So not very boomer of you. I don't even have
- 4:53Speaker 3: a checkbook.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Yeah. If it's not a digital check that I'm sending,
- 4:56Speaker 1: you ain't getting a check. I remember I had to
- 4:58Speaker 1: ask my mom to write me a check to get
- 5:00Speaker 1: my passport because I didn't have any checks. Physical photos.
- 5:04Speaker 1: This is what I was borderline on you for.
- 5:10Speaker 5: Yep.
- 5:11Speaker 4: There's one of me and my wife. Boomer.
- 5:14Speaker 5: All right.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Paper receipts.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Uh, okay.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Hold on. I, I don't know if this counts, but
- 5:22Speaker 4: I had like, I just took it out this morning.
- 5:25Speaker 4: I'm not even kidding. Cause I had some trash in
- 5:27Speaker 4: my car. It's just real quick. And I had like
- 5:29Speaker 4: a baggage receipt from a flight we took recently in
- 5:32Speaker 4: my wallet to like, you know, reclaim your baggage in
- 5:35Speaker 4: case you lose it. Typically no. Okay.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Uh, business cards. Cole, are you more boomer than I
- 5:42Speaker 3: thought you were?
- 5:43Speaker 4: I have a business card in my hand.
- 5:44Speaker 5: All right.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Business cards.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Check.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Loyalty punch card of some sort.
- 5:47Speaker 4: You do not have this.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I don't think so. I was like, that's mostly digital
- 5:52Speaker 3: right now.
- 5:53Speaker 5: I don't.
- 5:53Speaker 4: There is a coffee shop I like that does a
- 5:55Speaker 4: physical punch card, and I'm always kind of sad that
- 5:57Speaker 4: I forget it.
- 5:58Speaker 5: Okay.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Paper insurance card.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Cards no no that's all on my phone now.
- 6:03Speaker 1: In case of emergency contact information.
- 6:06Speaker 3: All right so what do we got we had uh
- 6:09Speaker 3: i had more than.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I thought yeah you had business cards cash receipts what
- 6:13Speaker 1: i'm giving you even though you took it out of
- 6:14Speaker 1: this morning physical photo yeah oh no boomer Well, if
- 6:25Speaker 1: last year, like, man, I really wanted to go to
- 6:26Speaker 1: Morgan Wall and Sand in My Boots Music Festival and
- 6:29Speaker 1: I just couldn't get tickets. They did announce that it
- 6:32Speaker 1: is happening again once again in 2027. Gulf Shores, Alabama
- 6:36Speaker 1: in May. They have not dropped the festival lineup yet.
- 6:40Speaker 1: So they're going to do it in November.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Oh, okay. They're just confirming that it's happening.
- 6:46Speaker 4: You say that and I'm like, November?
- 6:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:49Speaker 5: Geez. Wow.
- 6:50Speaker 3: That's so far away.
- 6:52Speaker 4: When in May? You remember?
- 6:54Speaker 3: I don't. I don't remember when. I just see May
- 6:57Speaker 3: of 2027.
- 6:58Speaker 4: For me, personally, and I would imagine a lot of
- 7:00Speaker 4: other people here, it's tough to leave Indianapolis during.
- 7:04Speaker 5: The month of May.
- 7:05Speaker 3: I clicked on the full story and it still just
- 7:07Speaker 3: says May 2027. What are the exact dates?
- 7:12Speaker 4: Announced in November as well.
- 7:14Speaker 3: You'll also find out then. Do you think.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I know FGL, I think they had their own music
- 7:20Speaker 1: festival at one point, but they've been doing only festivals
- 7:22Speaker 1: in 2027.
- 7:23Speaker 3: This is a big one.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Maybe we might see them.
- 7:26Speaker 2: On that one.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a good guess.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I also saw rumors that Billy Ray Cyrus is engaged
- 7:30Speaker 1: to Elizabeth Hurley. I don't know if this is accurate
- 7:34Speaker 1: or not. They've been publicly dating since Easter of this year.
- 7:39Speaker 1: She was seen on set with a big old rock
- 7:41Speaker 1: where that would be. And so some are speculating that maybe...
- 7:46Speaker 1: They might be engaged. We'll have to wait and see.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Do you really want to know? Annie and Cole want
- 7:52Speaker 5: to know.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Do you have a skip it holiday? And here's what
- 7:58Speaker 4: I mean, because 83% of boomers are not doing anything
- 8:02Speaker 4: to celebrate Halloween this year.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Are we bashing boomers?
- 8:06Speaker 1: I know.
- 8:07Speaker 5: I called you a boomer.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Now you're like, I'm going to find a.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Way to call you one.
- 8:10Speaker 4: Well, you are not skipping Halloween. That is your favorite.
- 8:13Speaker 3: No, but you have a skip it holiday.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Okay, which one and why?
- 8:20Speaker 1: Every time I say it, I'm like so afraid of
- 8:23Speaker 1: people coming at me for this one.
- 8:24Speaker 3: But if I could skip Christmas.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:27Speaker 5: Gone.
- 8:28Speaker 3: The pressure of having to get people gifts.
- 8:30Speaker 4: You have said this before.
- 8:32Speaker 1: I'm usually traveling 87 different places to see family, and
- 8:36Speaker 1: it never feels like I have enough time settled in
- 8:38Speaker 1: and all that sort of stuff.
- 8:40Speaker 3: And I get it. That's not really the reason for
- 8:42Speaker 3: the season. But that's what it's become.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Just pressure and nonsense.
- 8:48Speaker 3: I want to see my family.
- 8:49Speaker 5: I love them.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I don't want the pressure of doing this gift thing.
- 8:52Speaker 5: I do agree.
- 8:53Speaker 4: I was thinking ahead to Christmas. I agree that it's busy.
- 8:56Speaker 4: I don't want to skip it. I love Christmas. But
- 8:58Speaker 4: I do agree that it's busy because I was thinking
- 9:00Speaker 4: ahead to our Christmas and I was already like, oh, man.
- 9:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Everywhere. Everywhere.
- 9:05Speaker 4: And it's going to like you are not going to
- 9:07Speaker 4: get a chance to breathe. It's going to be very busy.
- 9:09Speaker 4: But I personally still love it. I love Christmas.
- 9:13Speaker 1: So I know your parents just moved to Florida, so
- 9:15Speaker 1: I'm assuming this year they're coming back.
- 9:17Speaker 4: They are coming back. We might go down after Christmas.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Okay, that's what I was wondering. When are they going
- 9:23Speaker 3: to flip it?
- 9:23Speaker 1: Like, hey, do you guys want to have a warm
- 9:26Speaker 1: beach Christmas?
- 9:27Speaker 4: Okay, here is actually what we're thinking because I'm putting
- 9:30Speaker 4: this on my list for Skip It Holidays. I do
- 9:33Speaker 4: not care about New Year's Eve.
- 9:35Speaker 3: You know, the older I get, I don't think I
- 9:37Speaker 3: do either.
- 9:38Speaker 4: We didn't even stay up last year.
- 9:39Speaker 3: And I don't know.
- 9:39Speaker 4: We stayed up the year before either. Whatever. It's going
- 9:42Speaker 4: to happen. So we might go down there for New
- 9:47Speaker 4: Year's Eve to try to do something for New Year's Eve.
- 9:50Speaker 4: I still don't think that I'll make it to midnight anyway.
- 9:54Speaker 4: I would put New Year's Eve on that list. I.
- 9:59Speaker 5: You got more.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Would maybe put Halloween.
- 10:02Speaker 5: On that list.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, are you in this?
- 10:05Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:06Speaker 3: I get it. Your birthday.
- 10:08Speaker 5: I know.
- 10:08Speaker 4: I have a weird thing about Halloween and my birthday
- 10:10Speaker 4: because they're so close together. And a lot of times
- 10:13Speaker 4: people wanted to dress up for Halloween for my birthday.
- 10:16Speaker 4: And I'm like, no, I want them to be separate things.
- 10:18Speaker 4: I would imagine there's a lot of people who feel
- 10:20Speaker 4: this way about their birthday and Christmas.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Listen, my birthday is close and so is Baby Josie's
- 10:24Speaker 3: to Labor Day. You don't see us hating Labor Day.
- 10:27Speaker 5: Okay.
- 10:27Speaker 4: And I feel like I'm going to start to like
- 10:29Speaker 4: Halloween a little bit more when she really gets into
- 10:32Speaker 4: trick-or-treating and stuff like that.
- 10:34Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 10:35Speaker 1: So I guess the question is, what is your skip
- 10:38Speaker 1: at holiday?
- 10:39Speaker 5: Something you want to say? Give Annie and Cole a call. 317-663-9797. Hey, guys,
- 10:44Speaker 5: it's Julie. Hi, Julie.
- 10:47Speaker 3: What's up?
- 10:49Speaker 6: Oh, my God. If I could skip a holiday, it'd
- 10:53Speaker 6: be Halloween.
- 10:54Speaker 3: No, that's my favorite.
- 10:56Speaker 5: Tell me why.
- 10:57Speaker 6: Listen, listen, Linda. As a single mom teaching... And then
- 11:03Speaker 6: you have to come home and then you have to
- 11:06Speaker 6: dress two children and not answer the door. And the year,
- 11:12Speaker 6: I'll tell you what happened. The years of my children
- 11:14Speaker 6: were Peter Pan and Captain Hook.
- 11:18Speaker 2: They were like four and six. They both have a weapon.
- 11:25Speaker 6: They both have a hat. Captain Hook has a hook.
- 11:31Speaker 6: They both have buckets.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Guess who's hand wearing and holding all of.
- 11:36Speaker 6: That stuff by the end of the night.
- 11:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:40Speaker 3: And then you get the.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Added bonus as a teacher to go in the next
- 11:42Speaker 1: day and all the kids are hopped up on candy
- 11:44Speaker 1: at Halloween.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Yes. But it got better through the years because in
- 11:49Speaker 2: the neighborhood, at least we took the wagon and our
- 11:53Speaker 2: friends had alcohol.
- 11:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Our neighborhood has a couple of houses that have like
- 11:58Speaker 1: trick-or-treating for adults and kids.
- 12:00Speaker 6: But that's the year it went down.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Peter Pan and Captain Hook.
- 12:03Speaker 6: That's the year that Halloween was done.
- 12:06Speaker 3: It was pretty early on, too.
- 12:09Speaker 4: You still had like another decade to go.
- 12:12Speaker 3: All right. Halloween's on the list. I'll take it, Julie.
- 12:16Speaker 6: All right. Love you guys.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Love you, too.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Love you.
- 12:20Speaker 5: Okay.
- 12:20Speaker 4: So I'm not alone with Halloween. You are not alone
- 12:23Speaker 4: with Christmas. There's a couple on the Armour Air list.
- 12:27Speaker 4: text line at 317-663-9797 for Christmas. And this one says Christmas.
- 12:33Speaker 4: I was born on Christmas Day.
- 12:35Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 12:36Speaker 4: That's terrible. That's tough.
- 12:38Speaker 3: You're sharing your birthday with a pretty big name. That's tough.
- 12:42Speaker 1: I was like, this is me. Too much pressure on Christmas.
- 12:46Speaker 3: That is it. There's so much pressure that comes with Christmas.
- 12:50Speaker 3: That is why if you don't want Halloween, I don't
- 12:52Speaker 3: want Christmas. I nominate Thanksgiving.
- 12:54Speaker 4: As the best holiday. I do love Thanksgiving.
- 12:58Speaker 5: I follow. I like. I share. Annie and Cole on
- 13:02Speaker 5: Hank FM.
- 13:03Speaker 4: I think one of my wife's pet peeves is saying,
- 13:06Speaker 4: let's put something on TV, and then I'm just scrolling
- 13:10Speaker 4: through endless options on streaming services, and I can't make
- 13:13Speaker 4: a decision.
- 13:14Speaker 3: I can never pick.
- 13:16Speaker 5: We are not alone.
- 13:17Speaker 4: The average U.S. streaming subscriber spends 110 hours a year
- 13:21Speaker 4: just looking for something to watch. That's crazy. It's because
- 13:26Speaker 4: we have so many choices, it leads to decision fatigue.
- 13:31Speaker 4: And it makes you exhausted before you even press play.
- 13:34Speaker 4: At this point, we are a little more behind than
- 13:37Speaker 4: anything else. Just like we don't have time to watch
- 13:39Speaker 4: TV with baby Josie. So when we do, we are
- 13:42Speaker 4: behind and we have things to watch. But before her, yeah, like,
- 13:46Speaker 4: oh my, we would spend, I would spend so much
- 13:48Speaker 4: time just, I would scroll through watching trailers and like, eh,
- 13:51Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 13:52Speaker 3: We'll do that.
- 13:53Speaker 1: And then my husband would be like, just click it. Like,
- 13:55Speaker 1: stop watching this or just click it. If it's not great,
- 13:58Speaker 1: we'll turn it off. We'll start something else. I'm like,
- 14:00Speaker 1: I don't... Yeah, but then I.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Wasted like 30 minutes.
- 14:01Speaker 4: I don't want to waste my pick.
- 14:03Speaker 3: On that, right?
- 14:03Speaker 1: Do you have a... Oh, you said you're behind on shows.
- 14:06Speaker 1: One show that we just started, but again... I start
- 14:10Speaker 1: these shows with my husband, Rob. We get off of
- 14:12Speaker 1: work a lot earlier and I want to go home
- 14:13Speaker 1: and I want to watch the next episode. We'll have
- 14:15Speaker 1: to wait for him. And then we get busy and
- 14:17Speaker 1: we're watching sports. We started the show Below on Netflix.
- 14:21Speaker 1: There's Josh Harnett in it.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Hello.
- 14:24Speaker 1: One of the guys from Stranger Things in it as well.
- 14:28Speaker 1: And I still don't know what's happening.
- 14:30Speaker 3: We're on episode four, I think.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Okay.
- 14:33Speaker 3: And I'm still confused, but it's weird and it's kind
- 14:35Speaker 3: of good. And I'm like, when are we going to
- 14:37Speaker 3: watch the next episode?
- 14:38Speaker 4: We just got caught up on Ted Lasso.
- 14:41Speaker 3: We finished.
- 14:41Speaker 4: I think we are caught up because it just started
- 14:44Speaker 4: with Abbott Elementary. I haven't started watching the second season
- 14:48Speaker 4: of Scrubs yet. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. We're behind.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Well, that show is confusing because you don't know. We
- 14:56Speaker 3: just dropped some episodes. They don't have like any. They're
- 14:59Speaker 3: just like, yeah, we got bored. We made some more episodes.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Go watch them.
