- 0:55Thank you to Nathan for landing us Ken the Hammer Hamlin.
- 0:59He was sensational as always. All great guests and, and, and
- 1:03really behind the guests are Speedy and Nathan.
- 1:06So I want to thank our PR manager.
- 1:08I don't think he gets enough credit, but I'm going to give
- 1:10him credit as he always works hard and he does a lot of back
- 1:13end stuff for us. And thank you for landing us,
- 1:16Mr. Hamlin. Speaking of landing, we have a
- 1:19new segment and a new drop. We call this draft first, Google
- 1:25later. I lost the number one draft pick
- 1:28the night. Before the draft and now.
- 1:30Yeah, it's pretty simple. I win.
- 1:32Google me. Google me.
- 1:33Draft first, Google later. I had to laugh at that.
- 1:39It was pretty funny, all right? All right, here we go.
- 1:42Errol. This is what we drafted the a
- 1:46week ago. We made fantasy teams for the
- 1:50league for the rest of the year. So we're going to be able to pay
- 1:52close attention. But this isn't any fantasy
- 1:54league. We're going to do this in a kind
- 1:58of a horse fine format with FAFOF around and find out.
- 2:03We are going to challenge each other within the league, a game
- 2:08within the game some will call it and basically it goes like
- 2:12this. We are going to have an end of
- 2:14the year standings and whichever team has the most points is
- 2:17going to be the winner and we're going to talk about the rewards
- 2:20as we get into the season in the next couple of weeks.
- 2:23However, tonight we have some business.
- 2:25The first thing of order we have to do is handle guys that we
- 2:29drafted that are on the IR or injured for enough weeks that
- 2:33it's not going to make sense to keep them.
- 2:34So we're going to get add some players to the team to start,
- 2:36but then we're going to do what we do every week in FAFO Fantasy
- 2:40hoops. Draft first, Google later, Guess
- 2:43what? We're going to challenge
- 2:45somebody. So I'm going to start off the
- 2:47challenges. For an example, I challenge you
- 2:50Errol this week to make a lineup with your roster that you have
- 2:55access to on Yahoo. After I adjust it with your new
- 2:59players that you're going to get to have the most rebounds.
- 3:03Can you out rebound my team, try to make your team set up just
- 3:07for rebounds. Obviously there are other
- 3:10standings don't count. It's just going to be for the
- 3:12end of the year. It counts separately.
- 3:13Well, I will say this, if I have to pick players, I might have to
- 3:17move players to different positions, so I might have.
- 3:19You can do however you want for that.
- 3:21It's a completely different thing.
- 3:22This is within the game, within the game.
- 3:24Now here's the catch, if I spell FAFOI lose 4 times, I lose 500
- 3:31points from my end of season score.
- 3:34Of all of my players, that could be enough to cost me first place
- 3:37and the cherished championship prize.
- 3:41So it's time to draft first, Google later, F around and find
- 3:47out. So here's what we found out.
- 3:50I'm going to show you where we are with our rosters and we have
- 3:54a couple issues. Guys to bring this down and
- 3:57bring the rosters up. Just put it in a spreadsheet.
- 4:00I'll zoom in the best I can, but basically I have a few guys on
- 4:03IR. Errol, you have two guys on IR,
- 4:06Kyrie Irving. As soon as you draft them, they
- 4:08said that Kyrie take the rest of the year off and so bonus
- 4:12suffered a a season ending injury as well.
- 4:14So you will have to pick a point guard and then we're going to
- 4:17come back to you at the end to take a utility guy at the end of
- 4:21the draft of this like kind of fab draft that we have here.
- 4:25Speedy Franz Wagner's going to be out for about a month.
- 4:29That's enough. That's about half of the weeks
- 4:31left. We're giving you a bonus pick
- 4:34for Franz. Darius Garland hasn't played.
- 4:38I am going to get rid of him. He hasn't played all year
- 4:41basically since his injury. They said he was going to be
- 4:44back. It might take a little bit
- 4:45longer. I'm going to dump him and Tommy.
- 4:48Jalen Williams has another, has another hamstring issue.
- 4:51You have the option to dump Jalen Williams for a power
- 4:55forward and a power forward only.
- 4:57I have to and we have to get everybody at the position power
- 5:00forward for you to speak for Wagner.
- 5:03All right, so let's go through it.
- 5:05Let me show you who's available real quick.
- 5:08So here it is. At what position?
- 5:11I told you, Errol, you need a point guard.
- 5:12Here are the point guards that are available starting here.
- 5:17And this is their expected points for the rest of the
- 5:19seasons. And again, it has Garland, who I
- 5:22just dropped and Trey Young has also heard.
- 5:24But this is really the list here.
- 5:25Josh Giddy, Peyton Pritchard, Rollins, Tyler Hero, Emmanuel
- 5:30Quickly, Drew Holiday and Stefan Castle.
- 5:34All right, so I'm going to move Cooper Cup to my point card.
- 5:40All right, so you want so you want to guard is what you're.
- 5:48Saying yes now Darius Garland, how long is he out?
- 5:51Is he out of? He's he's, he's not coming back.
- 5:54That's why he was dropped. So he's not going to be back in
- 5:57time for it to matter. So here we go.
- 5:59These are your two guard options right here.
- 6:01Giddy Rollins hero quickly Holiday Castle ace Bailey looks
- 6:07like after that con Canupal and nebhard.
- 6:12Let me move up. I'm trying to see what I need
- 6:17for rebounds. Again, that's just this.
- 6:22Week, I know I I want to see what these who's 2 rebounders.
- 6:27Here that are the best look like Giddy and Ace Bailey, but again
- 6:35you keep them for the rest of the season.
- 6:37I know I'm trying to. I don't know, I guess give me,
- 6:47give me Josh Giddy. All right, Errol gets giddy with
- 6:51giddy. All right, we're going to come
- 6:55back to you at the end. Darrell next is speedy for a
- 6:59power forward to replace Wagner. Let's give you the power
- 7:02forwards that are available. Philipowski followed by Jabari
- 7:06Smith, Junior Ocongo, Miles Bridges, PJ Washington, OG
- 7:10Ananobi and Bailey is still there with their queen and
- 7:14Lowry. Mark, I'll.
- 7:16Take Smith 3 possessions. Yeah, Jabari.
- 7:20Well, again, we're not really moving positions, right?
- 7:22It's just a full year thing that's just for these call outs,
- 7:25which might be beneficial in the call out.
- 7:28So, all right, so you want Jabari Smith, Junior?
- 7:31Because I also think I I have don't I have Tara Eason too.
- 7:34I can it's a rocket stand them there works so.
- 7:38Yeah, Smith Junior. All right, now that goes to me.
- 7:44I need a replacement for point guard for Garland and I am going
- 7:53to go back to that list. I'm pretty sure I was going to
- 7:56take Hayden Pritchard. All right, so I'm going to take
- 8:00Pritchard and that gives us the Tommy for a power forward.
- 8:12Go back. Yeah, Go back to the power
- 8:13forwards again and you can also move Brandon Ingram, the power
- 8:19forward, I think, and you can get a three.
- 8:24You want to see the threes also? Yeah, let me see the threes.
- 8:30So the threes it adds OG in there, Canoople in there.
- 8:38That's really the only other additions.
- 8:41Jalen Green, you know what go down.
- 8:50Let me get Matheran Green, though Wiggins is available.
- 8:57You know what, let me do Wiggins move.
- 8:58Yeah, let me move. Who's my son off for again?
- 9:02It it doesn't really matter because they all they like
- 9:05Wiggins goes there now Errol, back to you for utility.
- 9:10So I'm going to bring it to util.
- 9:12So any position, Errol and again Gideon Pritchard are gone.
- 9:16So here it is. Rollins is the next guy.
- 9:19I would go with Hero. I'm I'm going to go.
- 9:21Hero. All right, And Errol, we'll add
- 9:23Tyler. Hero.
- 9:25OK, so Errol, I called you out. That leaves Speedy.
- 9:30You can call either Tommy out or Jabba's team out.
- 9:34All right, let me see the rosters again.
- 9:37No, you're just going to. You're just going to randomly do
- 9:40it. OK, randomly do it.
- 9:41All right, so I guess I lost power forward.
- 9:50All right, I'll call out Java's roster and I'll say assists.
- 9:56All right, so speedy. So I'm challenging Errol in
- 10:01rebounds and it's speedy versus Java in assists.
- 10:08And Tommy, that means you have to challenge somebody also,
- 10:12which makes this super hard. So you can get screwed having to
- 10:15make your team for two different types of categories.
- 10:18Tommy, here's the wild card. Who do you want to challenge?
- 10:21And then what? Again, the only challenges so
- 10:23far are me and Errol in rebounds and speeding job and assists.
- 10:27You know what? Let me challenge Errol's team in
- 10:32three pointers, all right? And three pointers.
- 10:35So total 3 pointers made. All right, so that's this how
- 10:40it's going to go here on draft first, Google later.
- 10:47Why don't I get a challenge? Why don't I get a challenge?
- 10:49Anybody. You guys get all three of you.
- 10:51Get You've already been. You've already been challenged.
- 10:54Oh so so I get challenged 2 times and I don't get a
- 10:58challenge. How do how do you get to
- 11:01challenge first? Why?
- 11:02What did you spin the wheel? Make the deal.
- 11:05How does that? We've never done it before.
- 11:08How does that work? How does that work?
- 11:10How you get to challenge me before I get to that's not fair,
- 11:15that's not fair, that's not. Fair.
- 11:18Not even here. We're challenging.
- 11:19But that's not fair. Why can't I challenge somebody?
- 11:23That's not fair. You will.
- 11:24You will next week. Already next week.
- 11:26Oh so I get challenged twice and I gotta wait until next week to
- 11:30challenge and I can? Only, yeah, whoever, whoever get
- 11:33gets phoned on having to do it twice that.
- 11:36Week don't think this is the one in charge.
- 11:38I don't think that's fair. Challenges next.
- 11:39Week I think everybody should get a challenge every single
- 11:41week that's that that's that's the way so.
- 11:45You know. Who gives you the right?
- 11:48No. Who gives you the right?
- 11:49Who gives you? The right Who gives you the
- 11:52right to get to challenge me? And I can't challenge anybody
- 11:56who gives you the right. Oh my God.
- 11:59Am I wrong? Am I wrong?
- 12:01They're out of out of all four, of all four of us being.
- 12:04Challenged twice. You want to challenge somebody?
- 12:07Absolutely, absolutely risk and risk getting another letter.
- 12:12The whole point is not to be challenged because you don't
- 12:15have any risk, so you don't really want to be challenged.
- 12:17Yeah, well, I, I want to challenge and I'm going to
- 12:20challenge you. Big mouth all.
- 12:22Right now, we're already challenging each.
- 12:24Other I'm going to challenge you with most points.
- 12:26I thought this game was really. Most points, most points I'm
- 12:31going to challenge your ass, big mouth and I'm going to knock you
- 12:34off on that because you have not a.
- 12:36Challenge. All right, fine.
- 12:38And total points. So guys, I'm going to fix those
- 12:42rosters tonight, set them however you want for tomorrow
- 12:46and I will make them stick and that will be draft first.
- 12:51Google later now wait a SEC. So we do it for the week.
- 12:55So how do where do we start? And we have to, obviously.
- 12:57Move. So it's a, it's a Monday to
- 12:59Sunday. It's going to be Monday to
- 13:01Sunday. So today I'll just, we'll set
- 13:02the rosters, but I can manually as the commissioner, go in and
- 13:06set it however we want. So it would be today into
- 13:09Sunday, correct? That's fine.
- 13:11Well, there's nothing really you could do.
- 13:12You can only play the guys that are starting so.
- 13:16There's well no you on that and that you can play whoever you
- 13:19want, but for the year long thing it's just who has the best
- 13:22roster. Right.
- 13:23But you're, you're challenging me.
- 13:25So I want to play as many players as I can.
- 13:28We can, you know, every single day because I want to win by
- 13:31rebounds. So that's how you have to go.
- 13:34I know, but now I also need points.
- 13:36So you now you, we basically need to hope that we have a lot
- 13:38of power forwards that get double, double S So I guess I'm
- 13:41throwing in beat out there this week.
- 13:43It doesn't matter. You're going to lose.
- 13:44So that's it. All right, so we have one more
- 13:47segment before dial IT up. The NFL Combine started today in
- 13:51Indianapolis, with measurements and team interviews taking place
- 13:56as soon as the players stepped into Lucas Oil Stadium.
- 14:01NFL Networks Tom Pelissaro reports that Alabama quarterback
- 14:05Ty Simpson, a projected first round pick, will throw at the
- 14:09NFL Combine, but Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza, the
- 14:14projected number one overall pick, will not throw as
- 14:17expected. The athletic Dane Bruggler
- 14:19believes that Penn State drew aller.
- 14:22LSU's Garrett Meyer, North Dakota State's Cole Peyton and
- 14:27Arkansas Taylin Green are the four quarterbacks that could
- 14:31make leaps into the second round based on the senior ball
- 14:35performances. The key measurement scouts look
- 14:38at for the quarterbacks that will be uncovered at the combine
- 14:43in hand size, closer to 10 inches is preferable, but under
- 14:489 is looked at as a red flag. Hand size is also important for
- 14:54receivers, and of the many possible first round receivers
- 14:58this year, Carnell Tate, Jordan Tyson projected to have a larger
- 15:03hand size, while Denzel Boston and Casey Concepcion and Kai
- 15:09Lemon are expected to have to be smaller for the online high.
- 15:15Expected first round picks from Utah tackle Spencer Fano and
- 15:21Caleb Lomu, as well as Miami's Francis Magoa all projected to
- 15:26be over the key red flag. Arm lengths of 33 inches.
- 15:31Who the hell cares? Closer to 35 is desired for for
- 15:35most tackles. Other projected first round
- 15:38picks projected to have smaller arm lengths as Alabama Kaden
- 15:42Proctor and Auburn's Connor Lou. Let's go to the quarterbacks.
- 15:46The only quarterback that's really desirable in this
- 15:49quarterback class, Fernando Mendoza, he's going one.
- 15:53The thought here is a Garrett Nussmeyer who could have been a
- 15:57first round talent two years ago before this year.
- 16:00This debacle of year with LSU and Brian Kelly being fired,
- 16:04he's fallen. Some people think he could fall
- 16:06to the third or fourth round even if he plays well in the
- 16:09senior ball. There's a lot of questions with
- 16:12his ability to move outside of the pocket, is he going to have
- 16:15the ability in the athletic ability to make the throws on
- 16:18the run in the NFL, which he had problems this year?
- 16:21So I think out of all these quarterbacks that we've
- 16:23mentioned is including the Penn State quarterback and Drew Aller
- 16:27and Cole Payton and and Taylon Green, I think that the second
- 16:32best quarterback in this class is Garrett Nussmeyer.
- 16:35I think he is the second best. Now Ty Simpson, I, I understand
- 16:39it's going to be a first round talent and, and a lot of people
- 16:41think that if the Steelers, if he falls to the Steelers, the
- 16:44Steelers will draft him because of Mike McCarthy and Mike
- 16:47McCarthy will let him sit either if they bring in a veteran
- 16:50quarterback. I don't know if Aaron Rodgers
- 16:52will be back, but if they decide to bring in a veteran
- 16:54quarterback besides Aaron Rodgers, they expect Ty Simpson
- 16:58to sit and ride the bench for at least a year, maybe even 2.
- 17:01So we'll we'll see. Maybe Kirk Cousins could become
- 17:04available and maybe he goes to Pittsburgh.
- 17:06They'll be a lot of teams looking to add Kirk Cousins to
- 17:09the roster. But none of these quarterbacks
- 17:12to me really stand out. Or you're, you're really taking
- 17:17a risk going in the second round of drafting one of these guys.
- 17:20Ty Simpson is a borderline first round draft pick.
- 17:24I think he should fall out. He's an early second round draft
- 17:27pick. But Garrett Nussmeyer is the guy
- 17:29that I would go if I'm any other team looking for a quarterback
- 17:33to ride the bench for at least six or seven weeks and see what
- 17:36you have with Garrett Nussmeyer. I I think that's, that's the way
- 17:39I go. As far as the wide receivers,
- 17:43obviously Carnell Tate is the big name and Jordan Tyson is the
- 17:47other guy. Jordan Tyson place for Arizona.
- 17:50He's the guy that everybody keeps talking about.
- 17:52The athletically gifted kid that can go up for the ball very
- 17:55long, has big hands. That's great.
- 17:58But I think Carnell Tate has the most, I think, upside out of all
- 18:02these wide receivers being where he is coming from, where he is
- 18:06played. And if he can stay healthy and
- 18:08stay on the field, he can make he makes the most sense.
- 18:11If there's a team in the top ten looking for a wide receiver, AKA
- 18:14the New York Giants, who's looking for a guy that can help
- 18:17out neighbors, especially neighbors who might not start
- 18:20the season until week seven, week 8, he's not going to be
- 18:23100% healthy even when he comes back.
- 18:25So I would go with Carnell Tate if I was the New York Giants,
- 18:28but he's the best guy. You know, I've I've heard about
- 18:31these guys, KC Kerception and and, and Mackay Lemon, all these
- 18:35guys. That's great.
- 18:36These guys are all going to fall to the second and third round.
- 18:39They're not first round talents and anybody that think that they
- 18:41are, you're really reaching. I think this is a class for pass
- 18:46rushers. I expect all the top pass
- 18:48rushers, which is 7 or 8 of them to be drafted in the top 25.
- 18:52I expect that to happen and whoever falls out of the top 25,
- 18:57they're going to be The Jets who are drafting first in the second
- 19:01round because they have the Cowboys draft pick.
- 19:03They're going to be sitting pretty because they can add a
- 19:06really, really good player in the first in the starting of the
- 19:09first second round. So the beginning of the second
- 19:11round, they could be sitting on a really pretty spot if if one
- 19:15of these guys fall to them. So I think that obviously you
- 19:19look at the situation in the hand side, I don't really think
- 19:22that matters with wide receivers.
- 19:24They said a lot, a lot about that with Najigba, with his size
- 19:27and his hand size and Kenneth work in the NFL and we've seen
- 19:31what Najigba has done over the last past year and a half.
- 19:34This guy is as explosive as any wide receiver in the league.
- 19:37He can run routes. To me, what I'm looking at is
- 19:40route runners who can make the most plays running their routes,
- 19:44who could stop and, and, and square off and, and, you know,
- 19:47be put in the slot and put on the outside and do things that
- 19:50otherwise receivers can't do. So if you would ask me, Jordan
- 19:54Tyson is probably the best route runner out of this class, but
- 19:57Carnell Tate has the most upside out of all the wide receivers in
- 20:02this class. As far as the O line is
- 20:05concerned, and I want to see that.
- 20:07I want to see what they do on the football field, how they run
- 20:09their combine. A Carnell Tate, there's a lot of
- 20:11questions with his injuries and he's been injury prone for the
- 20:14last two seasons. Let's see how he does it this at
- 20:17his combine, how he runs the cones, how he you know how he
- 20:20lifts. But if Carnell has a good, good,
- 20:24good combine, I don't see Jordan Tyson being drafted in front of
- 20:29him. I, I don't I think Tate is going
- 20:31to be the first one off the board as far as the O lines are
- 20:34concerned. I am not an O line guy, but I've
- 20:37I've heard it like that. The Francis Magoa, he's the guy
- 20:40that everybody keeps talking about from Miami.
- 20:43He's a guy that I could be the best tackle in this class and I
- 20:48expect him to be a very high draft pick.
- 20:50Maybe what maybe a top ten pick. We'll see how everything falls
- 20:54into place and how he does at the combine.
- 20:55Spencer Fano is another guy that I've heard a little bit about.
- 20:59So those are the two guys that really stand out to me.
- 21:01The other guys in Proctor. Proctor comes from Alabama.
- 21:04He's going to be, if he's not a first round talent, he'll be a
- 21:07late first round or early second round talent.
- 21:10I I expect him maybe to fall because of the fact that some of
- 21:14these Alabama offensive offensive lineman have not been
- 21:17successful. One of your guys, Evan Neil, has
- 21:19not been successful. Williams was not as good as they
- 21:23expected him to be when he was drafted by the Bengals.
- 21:25Cedric Wills with the Browns so recently.
- 21:27Yeah. So I, I think that because of
- 21:30these stipulations with the smaller arms and, and the arm
- 21:33length, I think Kaden Proctor could fall.
- 21:37Auburn's Connor Lou, I, I don't know much about him.
- 21:41I've heard, you know, different things.
- 21:44Upside. He's got a tremendous upside.
- 21:46We've, we've had some guys on the show that said that he's a
- 21:49first round talent last year. So expect him to be a first
- 21:53round, late first round draft pick.
- 21:54But the guys to watch is Miami kid Fano, Spencer Fano, those
- 21:59are the guys. Caleb Lomu, those are the guys
- 22:02that you're going to see probably drafting in the top 15,
- 22:04top 20 at best. Yeah, I could definitely see my
- 22:06goal even being a top ten pick as well because I think his his
- 22:09physicality at the line of scrimmage, I think.
- 22:11He's the best tackle in. I think so too.
- 22:14So if the giants off the tray back from 5:00 and.
- 22:16They're not doing that. Maybe they don't, but if they.
- 22:18Haven't heard anything with that.
- 22:20If they do that, that could be an option for them to consider.
- 22:22There's a Fano I think is a good second option, but I think he's
- 22:24probably a little less of likely to be a top ten pick.
- 22:27But I do I think he is good, I think technique wise.
- 22:28I'm going to tell you this, speedy if Carnell Tate has a
- 22:31good combine, he's going #5 to the New York Giants.
- 22:34Definitely possible. I I know Howard Cross was
- 22:37mentioning that was. And a lot of people, a lot of of
- 22:39the experts, the giant guys that I've heard, they're all
- 22:42predicting Carnell Tate to be a. Giant Yep, and again that's
- 22:45Howard Cross was mentioning too. I know he prefers them to go
- 22:47online and I again, I I would tend to agree, just tend to take
- 22:49on the right value, but be careful with the value.
- 22:52I like Tate a lot. Jordan Tyson I think is a little
- 22:54a little more of a route true right now that doesn't mean Tate
- 22:56can't improve. Maybe Tate obviously playing
- 22:58next to Jeremiah Smith, he's not as running as much of the.
- 23:00I think Tyson falls. I think he falls out of the top
- 23:04ten, maybe falls out of the top 15, and maybe goes late teens,
- 23:10early 20s. Interesting that would that
- 23:12would be an interesting thing if that would require probably too
- 23:15many. Pass rushers to pass.
- 23:16Not only that, it would probably require a guy like the The best
- 23:19defensive tackle in Peter Woods, the kid from Clemson.
- 23:21He might. There's a lot of speculation if
- 23:23he'll go top 10 or even he could fall all the way to 25 or
- 23:26something like that. And then Jeremiah Love, another
- 23:28big wild card. A lot of people are mocking him
- 23:30to the Chiefs at #9 does he go as early as that with his
- 23:34athletic grades? So that would be the only reason
- 23:36I think Tyson would fall out of the top 10 because there is a
- 23:38lot of teams that really need wide receivers.
- 23:40Is interesting though with the other receivers though because
- 23:42there's a lot of playoff teams this year that definitely lacked
- 23:44a wide receiver where I could still see Lemon going in the.
- 23:47By the way, I'm I'm reading what Christopher says, he says Tyson
- 23:50drew all double teams. Tate had more one on ones teams
- 23:54felt that that he. Was Tyson did play with?
- 23:57Jeremiah Smith, I'm going to, I'm going to tell you this right
- 23:59now, if Tate has a good combine, best believe he's going to be
- 24:03drafted in front of Tyson because.
- 24:05I think I think it's crazy to take him in the top ten though.
- 24:08Like the that's a great point by Chris.
- 24:11If he's not someone who demands, you know, that kind of like
- 24:15double coverage, he's not a top 10 receiver.
- 24:17Receiver shouldn't go that high ever.
- 24:20They really shouldn't. Fish, here's the counter that I
- 24:22have to that because I was actually skeptical of this with
- 24:25Crystal Lavey for the same reason Garrett Wilson and
- 24:28Najigba were the more talented guys got more attention and I
- 24:31was really down and so was Jeff on a Lavey at the time because
- 24:34of that and he's still been a productive receiver.
- 24:35Still not top ten though. At 12, it's OK because you're OK
- 24:40with that. And there's another guy who I
- 24:41keep hearing it tied to the Giants.
- 24:44It's the guy I've been wanting, but I don't like him at 5 either
- 24:47because I don't want a safety at 5:00.
- 24:49But Caleb Downs, John Harbaugh himself is raving about this
- 24:53guy. It sounds.
- 24:55He's obviously had a killer safety at that.
- 24:58You know, I'm thinking. We're the Browns drafting 6?
- 25:01I think they trade up at one of these spots, maybe with The
- 25:05Jets, and they get downs because I've been hearing that the
- 25:09Browns will do anything and they got a lot of draft stock because
- 25:12guess what they got? They traded guess who?
- 25:14The Gremlin last year. So they have a ton of draft
- 25:17stock. And if The Jets trade for them?
- 25:19And, and The Jets could see that at #2 they fall to number six.
- 25:23They still get the guy that they want at #6 and they get a ton
- 25:27back jumping, letting the the Browns jump from 6 to 2.
- 25:31And I best believe the Browns are going to be calling The Jets
- 25:34and and and expect us. This is the same thing, the same
- 25:37thing the Jacksonville Jaguars did at 5, jumping at 2 and gave
- 25:40up an enormous a toll of players and picks.
- 25:44And Downs is the guy. That's what I've been hearing.
- 25:46Downs is the guy the Browns want.
- 25:48So. And it makes sense for The Jets,
- 25:49too, because there's enough pass rushers in the first round where
- 25:51even if they don't get maybe Reese is probably the.
- 25:53Contest Bane will be there. I think Bane will still be
- 25:55there. Bane should be there because I
- 25:56would imagine Tennessee goes offense in some capacity.
- 25:59They could they offensive line, they might be the team that
- 26:01draft might go in the top five if anyone does.
- 26:04Arizona I've seen #3 but I think their offensive line is pretty
- 26:08good. I don't know if it's their
- 26:08biggest need. I think they go they could go
- 26:10defense too. So.
- 26:11Speedy like I there's a big thing that it's really clear
- 26:15what the giants are going to be doing in this draft if Jermaine
- 26:18Illuminar is with or without or not with this team.
- 26:21If they let Illuminar go in free agency because they didn't want
- 26:24to pay whatever probably around 13 to $15 million a year for him
- 26:29because he had he was a dominant right tackle.
- 26:31He was a top ten right tackle last year, you know, in most
- 26:34metrics. So they don't want to pay for
- 26:36that because maybe they don't want to pay for it.
- 26:38So now maybe you go get the Miami tackle who just, he's
- 26:42murdered everybody, the entire. He's going in the he's going in
- 26:46the top four, I think Mengo. Is but I I well, him or Fano?
- 26:49And Fano is a good prospect too. It just depends where they go.
- 26:52I think you're going to look at the top five.
- 26:54You're going to see Reese, you're going to see Bain, you're
- 26:57going to see Malgoa. Here's the problem, Mendoza.
- 27:00Here's the problem. Here's the Giants.
- 27:02They're losing Robertson in free agency.
- 27:04He's gone and they don't know when neighbors going to be back
- 27:07next year. So they don't and they don't
- 27:09have enough free agency market money.
- 27:11So they're I'm telling you right now, if Carnell Tate has a very
- 27:16good combine, he is going to the Giants you best.
- 27:19Believe it. But that's why I think it's a
- 27:21tackle, because you can get away with not having a slot receiver.
- 27:24You have to have a right tackle. There is no way John Harbaugh is
- 27:27going to go into his first season with the New York Giants
- 27:29with no playmakers. It's not going to happen.
- 27:31Well, I don't think well neighbors had look neighbors had
- 27:34the meniscus done at the same time as the ACL.
- 27:37So that means the recovery takes a little bit long.
- 27:38They're saying I'll be back for the start of the season, but no
- 27:41one's saying that he's going to miss it.
- 27:42They're saying, they're saying that he might miss five to six
- 27:45weeks and there's a very good. Chance of the preseason.
- 27:47No. Of the regular.
- 27:49Season of the preseason. Dude a 20.
- 27:51ACL I would be shocked if he if he would because it was like the
- 27:555th week of the season or something like that.
- 27:57I'm telling you, I'm telling you right now, I do not believe
- 28:01neighbors will start the season on that roster.
- 28:03I do not. And if the Giants rush him back,
- 28:06because that's what they're trying to.
- 28:07Do let me ask you a question. What if the team's going to
- 28:10suck? Why get a receiver that you know
- 28:13might not be worth that pick when you can get, you know, the
- 28:16tackle that you need for the future to protect your young
- 28:18quarterback? I just think tackle's way more
- 28:20valuable than a receiver because especially if it's a deep
- 28:22receiver draft, you know, go get somebody in the second and third
- 28:25round. You get someone better.
- 28:26Than that I don't know if this is a very deep receiving.
- 28:29They they say it's one of the deepest receiver drafts, like
- 28:32second, third deep, second, like third day guys in the middle,
- 28:34like it's supposed to be really good.
- 28:36I don't it's not the 2020. Draft.
- 28:38I'm not. I'm not betting on that.
- 28:39I'm not a top end guy, but it's for a slot receiver.
- 28:42Very rarely are slot receivers first round picks.
- 28:45It's only been, you know, in recent years where you see guys
- 28:48like Zay Flowers who play inside and outside, kind of go in the
- 28:50first round, but true slot receivers like Wandell Robinson,
- 28:53their second round picks. Where do we go from the giants?
- 28:56Of course. Fish goes right to the giants in
- 28:58in in all the conversations. NFL Draft is the Giants fans
- 29:02best day of the year every year. I don't know about that, not
- 29:05when we get now with Joe Shane drafting your.
- 29:08Guy Fish fish on Toby Draft, Eli Apple and Evan Neal.
- 29:11Well, it's not like I'm looking forward to the playoffs, Errol.
- 29:14What am I? What else am I supposed to look
- 29:16forward to? Well, you guys love the John
- 29:19Harbaugh move. We'll see how that works, but.
- 29:21I do. I John Harbaugh loves Caleb
- 29:24Downs. I love Caleb Downs.
- 29:26I'd be OK with that pick. Well, I think Caleb Downs,
- 29:29somebody's going to trade up for him.
- 29:30And I think The Jets sitting there at 2, I don't think The
- 29:33Jets care. What's the highest the safety's
- 29:35ever gone? Speedy feels like a trivia
- 29:38question we should have. I will say this, it doesn't it,
- 29:41it doesn't really matter. It it matters if if the guy's a
- 29:44playmaker and he can change the change your roster and, and with
- 29:48the Browns and what they're destined to do, they're brought
- 29:50in an offensive coordinator, an offensive mind.
- 29:53They want their defense to be shut down type of defense.
- 29:56And Downs is one of the best leaders as far as the secondary
- 30:00is concerned, as everybody says he is.
- 30:02And I, I've heard that the Browns are very connected, 2
- 30:06Downs and Caleb Downs could go to I, I could see him first of
- 30:10all, a lot of people think they go, he's going in the top five,
- 30:13but I think that he can absolutely somebody like the
- 30:17Browns would move up and, and snag him up.
- 30:19And, and by the way, they did enough in, at the at, in the
- 30:23draft last year to, to make that move.
- 30:25If they really like Downs, they like Downs more than the
- 30:27Gremlin. The last two safeties that got
- 30:30taken in the top five, number five overall were Eric Berry,
- 30:34who was phenomenal, and and Sean Taylor.
- 30:38That's how good, that's how good you have to be to go 5.
- 30:42And I think, and I think, and I think Caleb Downs is that guy.
- 30:46And I, and I do believe that. I think that the Browns are
- 30:49going to look at The Jets and a lot of teams are going to look
- 30:52at The Jets and say, well, what would you want for us to move up
- 30:56to two? You're still going to get your
- 30:58guy. The Browns are going to say, you
- 31:00listen, you're drafting right behind the Giants.
- 31:01You're still going to get a big time pass rusher and we'll give
- 31:04you an extra first round draft pick next year and a second
- 31:08round draft pick or a third round draft pick this year and a
- 31:10fourth this year. If if that happens, you don't
- 31:14think The Jets are going to do that 100?
- 31:16Percent The Jets are going to be incentivized as well because it
- 31:19wouldn't surprise me based on their draft history, too.
- 31:21They did Honey Badger, they did Isaiah Simmons, and Arizona
- 31:23takes him a three either. That's an interesting wild card
- 31:26to think. About I I do believe Downs is
- 31:28going to be a guy that he's the wild card and if he has a good
- 31:30combine, which a lot of people think he will, he could jump
- 31:34from maybe 7:00 or 8:00 where they're predicting him to beat
- 31:39all the way to 3 or maybe even 2.
- 31:41So, and I think I think it's the Browns.
- 31:44If there's anybody that's going to jump up from 6 to 2 and not
- 31:47have to give up a ridiculous ton, The Jets might ask for two
- 31:50first round draft picks for that.
- 31:52Are are the Browns willing to do that?
- 31:54Maybe. I mean, getting getting this
- 31:57year is in next year's draft pick or they got two first round
- 31:59draft picks this year, right? I think they do.
- 32:01Yeah, they have the Jags at the back like.
- 32:03They'll take the The Jets would say, listen, we'll take the Jags
- 32:0623 pick. We'll take we'll take your sixth
- 32:09round pick this year and we'll take another one of your first
- 32:12round draft picks next year. And then The Jets have four
- 32:15first round draft picks next year.
- 32:16They're still getting Bain or one of their top pass rushers
- 32:19that are going to fit that roster right now.
- 32:21They're still going to get their corner.
- 32:23And maybe, hey, Tyson could fall to them at 23 and they can get
- 32:26their wide receiver over there as well.
- 32:28The Jets could set themselves up very, very by the way, they have
- 32:32the Cowboys 1st pick in the second round, which is the
- 32:35number one pick of the second round so that The Jets could
- 32:38honestly get 4 or you know, four first round draft picks in the
- 32:42first picks this year. They could build their own.
- 32:45They could build their team in the next two years.
- 32:47I would also if he's there at 16.
- 32:49I mentioned Peter Woods from Clemson defensive tackle.
- 32:52I would consider that at 16 as well if The Jets get all those.
- 32:54Picks, I mean, the The Jets are going to be set up really,
- 32:56really well if they do that and I could see the Browns making
- 32:59that move if they really want. And I'm hearing, go read it up
- 33:02on any of the Brown stories that Caleb, Caleb Downs is the guy
- 33:07they want. If that happens, though, that
- 33:09means an elite talent falls to the Giants.
- 33:12It there's one of these guys like Reese, you know, some guys
- 33:17don't want to take someone off ball that high, right?
- 33:20But are the Giants going? To need Arizona will take.
- 33:22Reese yeah, Arizona will take. Reese But I think, I think so.
- 33:25And that's what we're hearing. But Arizona's a dumb franchise.
- 33:30Arizona's done really dumb stuff in the last couple of years.
- 33:34I mean, they have a new coach, maybe they have a new direction
- 33:36now, but teams that screw up screw up a lot.
- 33:40That's interesting. It's interesting and that's why
- 33:42we're we're speaking about it. And that's what's fun about, you
- 33:44know, getting ready for the draft and, and seeing where
- 33:47teams are going to be looking. And I'm telling you right now,
- 33:50out of all the teams drafting in the top five or top 6, The Jets
- 33:54are more likely out of all the teams being that they're not
- 33:57getting the quarterback they want to trade out of #2 full
- 34:01back four or five spots, still get a ton back for it.
- 34:04And they'll be sitting pretty this year and next year.
- 34:07Think about it this way. If The Jets trade down from 2:00
- 34:11to 4:00 and they get 2 first round draft picks this year and
- 34:15next year they will be getting their 6th and their 23, they'll
- 34:18have, they'll have four first round draft picks because
- 34:21they're drafting in the, in the top of the second round.
- 34:23Somebody's going to fall to them at, at 3233.
- 34:26Somebody's definitely going to fall them.
- 34:28And by the way, they have another second round draft pick
- 34:30early in the second. Round.
- 34:31I just don't know if you're going to get them.
- 34:33Anyone's going to really want to trade for the number two pick
- 34:35because there's no quarterback. It it with with the Browns and
- 34:39the Browns what they're saying about what they like about
- 34:41Caleb. I'm just saying like, no one's
- 34:43like taking a safety that high is one thing.
- 34:46Trading draft capital to move up to take a safety that high trade
- 34:51it's ever been done. They trade, it's never been
- 34:52done. I know.
- 34:53But that's, that's the crazy thing at #2 And that's why if,
- 34:56if you're to me, and I'll say this as a Jet fan, not as, as a
- 34:59person that's hoping this to happen.
- 35:02If, if the jet fan, if the jet organization is a very smart
- 35:05one, which I don't, that remains to be seen.
- 35:08But if they're a smart organization and I think they
- 35:11have the right GM in place and you've seen what he's done in
- 35:13the middle of a season and surprised and shocked a lot of
- 35:16people what he did. Don't be surprised if he has
- 35:19something in his back pocket. Sitting there at six or seven to
- 35:23let A-Team jump up just a couple more spots to get the guy they
- 35:27want. For them to get still the same
- 35:29guy they want and get a bunch more capital for next year.
- 35:33Because that's the year that The Jets are going to be sitting and
- 35:36looking for their future quarterback.
- 35:38If you're sitting with four first round draft picks next
- 35:40year, two of them in the top ten, possibly you're going to
- 35:43get the guy you really, really want.
- 35:45If you, if you want I, it depends on how everybody, what
- 35:50kind of season they have. If you want Manning, you want
- 35:53more, you want seller, you want one of these guys, you're going
- 35:57to get your pick because nobody's going to say, hey, we,
- 36:02you know, I'll give you 3 first round draft picks to move up to
- 36:05one or two to get the guy that I want.
- 36:07I think The Jets will be sitting really, really pretty to get the
- 36:09guy that they really want. So I think that's what I think.
- 36:13And and you know what, Jet fans, you can only hope that's going
- 36:16to happen anyways. We call this Dial it Up.
- 36:19We interrupt this regularly scheduled hot mix to bring an
- 36:21important news. We got a big broadcast to do
- 36:24here. We're about to dial it up, Chris
- 36:28says as a Jet fan, hard to pass up on Reese.
- 36:32And you're right, it is hard to pass up on Reese.
- 36:35But here's the thing, Chris, if you're sitting right now and you
- 36:39jump from 2:00 to 6:00 and you still get Bane, you're still
- 36:42getting a projected top end pass rushing talent at #6 So I
- 36:47wouldn't cry about that now. All right, let's dial it up.
- 36:51Everyone's favorite Lightning Round sports segment where we're
- 36:54going to get some stories Errol has not seen and then he's going
- 36:57to react and one of us will react to his comments.
- 37:00Here we go. Let's start it off, Errol.
- 37:02We got some good ones. Apparently I'm freezing up a
- 37:04little bit, so I'm going to bring it down and put it back
- 37:06up. Here we go.
- 37:08First one, we haven't talked about the MVP debate.
- 37:12Well, Lebron's talking about it. Errol LeBron endorses the
- 37:17Celtics, Jaylen Brown, who just gave him the business the other
- 37:21night in a game where the Lakers got torched by the Celtics for
- 37:26MVP. Well, I wanted you to to take a
- 37:29look at this because currently Jaylen Brown is sitting in 6th
- 37:33right now in MVP odds behind Shay Gil.
- 37:36Just Alexander who they're saying is having an even better
- 37:38year this year than he did last year.
- 37:41Second is Nicola Jokic and then Kate Cunningham is sitting in
- 37:453rd in MVP odds, followed by Wemby and Luka.
- 37:48Then at plus around 4000 to 5000, Jaylen Brown is in 6th.
- 37:54Errol, what do you think about Lebron's comments here?
- 37:56Dial it up. He's on.
- 37:58He's out of his mind. He's lost his mind because
- 38:01Nicola Yokich is the best player in the NBA.
- 38:03He should win his fourth MVP, should have won the MVP last
- 38:07year. He has the most triple double S
- 38:08right now in the league. I think it's 21 to 22.
- 38:10He's absolutely dominating. The Nuggets are not even a
- 38:13really good roster and he's still putting up ridiculous
- 38:16numbers. His shooting percentage is 1 of
- 38:18the highest it's been in the last three years.
- 38:20He's doing everything right for his team.
- 38:22He's making his team just, you know, staying afloat.
- 38:26And the Nuggets are still a top four, top five team in the
- 38:28Western Conference. You can't argue Nicola Yokich is
- 38:31the best player in all the basketball.
- 38:33He should have won last year and he will.
- 38:36He will win this year. There's no way Gilchus Alexander
- 38:40is going to win the MVP this year.
- 38:42You could book that. There's no way the NBA is going
- 38:44to steal this away from Nicola Yokich this year.
- 38:47I absolutely the MVP. Lebron's on drugs.
- 38:50He's lost his mind and maybe he just needs to retire.
- 38:52Step away, run away. So long, LeBron, take your pie
- 38:57of eating ass or whatever you want to do whatever you're doing
- 39:00in your offseason. And LeBron is one of the he has
- 39:02one of the craziest workouts, but he needs to eat something
- 39:06and put on some weight and and retire already.
- 39:08I don't want to see or hear any more of LeBron James's takes.
- 39:11Yeah, well, Jaylen Brown was the same guy that made him cry about
- 39:14his son because he took shots. That's what I was.
- 39:17Just going to say I think he'd always try to make up for it
- 39:20because he knows that obviously they're not going to face in the
- 39:22playoffs if they play in the Finals.
- 39:24But if they play in next year, if LeBron does go to back to
- 39:26Cleveland or go to Miami or whatever and has to face Jalen
- 39:28Brown in the playoffs now he said he needs to be a kissed ass
- 39:30like he's trying to be with everyone else, all of his
- 39:32generation of basketball players.
- 39:34So I yeah, I definitely think that's what it's going on in an
- 39:37angle. Jalen Brown was not thought of
- 39:38as a top five in anything that I've seen as far as an MVP
- 39:41conversation. You're looking at yeah, Leocha,
- 39:43you're looking at you'll get SGA, you're looking at Wendy.
- 39:45Like there's going to be other options before Jaylen Brown.
- 39:49All right, let's keep it rolling.
- 39:51Next one we're going to change sports.
- 39:53We're going to head to the Bronx.
- 39:54Errol Jazz Chisholm wants 35, not not thirty, $35 million a
- 40:05year on an 8 to 10 year contract for his next deal is expiring
- 40:12right now. His last season, it looks like
- 40:15his last season with the Yankees.
- 40:18Errol, that's pretty wild statement right there from Mr.
- 40:22Jazz. One of your favorite players?
- 40:24Dial it up. Mr. Jism needs to go and do
- 40:28whatever he does in the bathroom in his private life and his
- 40:30private time because there is no way in hell anybody is giving
- 40:35him an 8 to 10 year deal worth about $35 million.
- 40:38I don't care if he puts up 50 and 50.
- 40:40I know Nathan reached out to me over the weekend.
- 40:42Did you hear what Jazz is saying?
- 40:43That he's going to be one of the first, He's going to be the
- 40:45first player to do 50 and 50 or the second player?
- 40:48Because we know, you know, Tony did it.
- 40:50He, he, he's got something to prove this year.
- 40:52I don't care if he has 50505050 home runs, 50 stolen bases, it's
- 40:57not going to make a difference. There is no way anybody,
- 41:00including the New York Yankees are going to give him that, not
- 41:02even the Dodgers with deferred money.
- 41:04That will happen. He's going into a strike year,
- 41:06which is bad for him, and you're going to probably miss the
- 41:09season that you're going to get paid.
- 41:11So even when the strike is over, if it ends sometime next year,
- 41:15there is no way that the new cap or the salary cap or whatever
- 41:19they're going to be doing with the negotiations.
- 41:21Anybody is giving Jazz Jism an 8 to 10 year deal worth of $35
- 41:26million. There's no way in health,
- 41:28there's no way they're going to give a second baseman that kind
- 41:30of money, no matter how good he is in the Bronx, especially in a
- 41:33short porch and playing for the Yankees.
- 41:35Yeah, I don't know what what Jazz thinking here.
- 41:38I know he he talks and he had a good season last year.
- 41:42He's been really good with us, you know, the last year and a
- 41:44half or so. But you know, he's kind of got
- 41:48that, that moxie tomb, that swagger.
- 41:51So I wouldn't expect anything less from a guy like Jazz
- 41:54Chisholm. Now look, I don't mind it, but
- 41:58clearly no team, the Yankees, nobody's going to give them
- 42:01that. You don't mind hold on one
- 42:03second, Dom. You don't mind that the Yankees
- 42:05gave him an 8 to 10 year deal worth of 35?
- 42:08No, no, no, I don't mind. Like his moxie and swagger.
- 42:11I hate it. I take that chain of his and
- 42:14choke him with it. I can't stand that guy.
- 42:17I think his moxie, his personality doesn't fit in the
- 42:20Bronx. I don't care how how many
- 42:21people, how many players in that locker room loves him.
- 42:25I don't care what people are saying in the dugout, how much
- 42:27they love his dancing and prancing around and, and, and
- 42:30doing what he does on and off the field.
- 42:32I don't like it. I didn't like Nick Swisher when
- 42:34he did it and I definitely don't like jazz jism.
- 42:37OK, at least Nick Swisher was quietly doing it in the locker
- 42:41room. This guy is out there and about
- 42:43wearing his big ass chains and and doing things on and off the
- 42:47field and he's on social media yapping his big mouth and and
- 42:50pretty much making himself look like a complete moron.
- 42:53I don't like it. I don't like the moxie.
- 42:55I don't like his personality. It doesn't fit here in New York
- 42:58as far as I'm concerned. I don't know where does it fit
- 43:01Errol? Like where do you fit Jazz
- 43:03Chisholm, the. New York.
- 43:04Mets, what's a good place? The New York Mets.
- 43:06He's thinking he played with the Mets. 7th infielder.
- 43:08Oh yeah, the. Mets.
- 43:09It fits perfectly. The Mets will take him on.
- 43:11They'll pay him, and he can yap and dance around and prance
- 43:14around as much as he wants. I mean, maybe they move him to
- 43:18third base and they move Beau out to the outfield.
- 43:21In the long run, that could happen.
- 43:23I mean, that's typical what the Mets are going to do.
- 43:25And and they think they're smacking the Yankees in the
- 43:27face. They're making themselves like
- 43:29look like complete idiots. So Steve Cohen could say
- 43:32whatever he wants. It's complete ridiculousness for
- 43:34the New York Mets to do what they're doing right now.
- 43:36That's all. I'm going to say it.
- 43:38It just feels like Cashman is like, Oh no, don't take Luke
- 43:41Weaver. Don't you know?
- 43:45It just seems like they didn't try really hard.
- 43:46To dude, Cashman is laughing to the bank on what the Mets are
- 43:49doing. He's.
- 43:50Yeah, I think so too. Pretty ugly.
- 43:52Well, let's get into some Laker history.
- 43:55I heard about the Lakers unveiled Pat Riley statue of him
- 44:00raising his hand, which was a symbol to call to play to get
- 44:05the ball to Kareem so he could do the skyhook.
- 44:07That was literally what he would do and it was the best play call
- 44:10that you could have. It's just like a real simple
- 44:12thing that everybody knows about Pat Riley in his famous Armani
- 44:16suit. If you ever got saw that to see
- 44:18the movie Wall Street. The character Gordon Gekko is
- 44:23based off of Pat Riley in his hair.
- 44:26Actor Michael Douglas. I was watching something said
- 44:28that I was in the car with Pat Riley.
- 44:30I was in a convertible and his hair didn't move.
- 44:33I said that's what the characters got to be.
- 44:35And that's that's how Gordy Gekko ended up looking like.
- 44:37He did pretty crazy. Errol, I, I know that you're a
- 44:42big fan. He was a Knicks coach in the
- 44:4490s. Before that, the Showtime
- 44:46Lakers. Dial it up.
- 44:49The Knicks did them dirty because there should be a statue
- 44:51over there at Madison Square Square Garden, at Pat Riley.
- 44:54He should have gotten the GM job.
- 44:56He should have gotten the executive job.
- 44:57And maybe, I don't know, some of those guys would have decided,
- 45:01including LeBron James. Dwyane Wade might have been
- 45:03drafted by the Knicks because the Knicks would have sucked or
- 45:05he would have had some kind of game plan when it came to
- 45:08looking at him from Marquette. Maybe you bring Chris Bosh and
- 45:11maybe they have that trio for a couple of years and win multiple
- 45:15championships. Here's the thing.
- 45:17Pat Riley should have had a statue over there with the
- 45:19Lakers a long time ago. He's the greatest coach that the
- 45:24Lakers ever have. Yes, even better than Phil
- 45:26Jackson, because I'm going to tell you why.
- 45:28When you're talking about reevaluating this team and
- 45:31really developing Magic Johnson, he was the guy.
- 45:36He was the guy that developed Magic Johnson.
- 45:38He was the one that really put that team together.
- 45:41Kareem Abdul Jabbar to play his game the way Pat Riley wanted to
- 45:44run his offense and his defense defenses as good as Phil Jackson
- 45:48was in the time that he had Kobe Bryant, yes, and Shaquille
- 45:51O'Neal, Kareem Abdul Jabbar and we the 1:00 we call Magic
- 45:55Johnson, we're a better duo than Kobe and Shaq.
- 45:59I'm sorry. They were and and to me, the guy
- 46:02that really revamped that team and changed that team.
- 46:05And remember, he was an assistant coach that got offered
- 46:07the job because they fired the they fired a coach after winning
- 46:11a championship because they didn't think he fit the culture
- 46:14of the new the Lakers. Well, Pat Riley took over and
- 46:18did nothing but win. Pat Riley should have had a
- 46:20trophy. He stands for something greater
- 46:22than just the Lakers. He stands for brilliance.
- 46:26And he was a championship. Yeah, a championship college
- 46:29basketball player too. So this guy won everywhere he
- 46:32went. Won everywhere he went.
- 46:35So should have had. He should have a trophy a long
- 46:37time ago. You know, I got to watch those.
- 46:40That HBO show they did, they only had like a season of it
- 46:44where Adrien Brody played go. Look at Lakers dynasty.
- 46:47Go look at the. Lakers I watched, I watched the
- 46:49real stuff too, but I just thought it was like the whole
- 46:52point of that show was just like, because Pat Riley was so
- 46:55charismatic, you can make a whole show about it.
- 46:58Pat Riley was the man behind everything.
- 47:01He like he brought the Knicks to relevancy in the 90s playing a
- 47:05brand. He's like, this is this is what
- 47:06we're going to have to win. So this is what we're going to
- 47:08do. And that's what he and it was
- 47:10completely different than what he did in the 80s with the
- 47:12Lakers. He went to that Piston style of,
- 47:15you know, basically try to beat up Jordan, try to beat up
- 47:18everybody, slug it out low scoring games.
- 47:21He he did whatever it took to win.
- 47:23And obviously he was a champion. Not with New York,
- 47:25unfortunately, as many of us New York fans still have.
- 47:29Championship. He went to a championship.
- 47:31Championship. And not Yeah, he did.
- 47:34And we know what happened. Yeah, Charles starts that day.
- 47:37And Charles? Smith, who can't hit up a layup.
- 47:40Charles Smith was the year before but.
- 47:43He couldn't hit a layup. He couldn't hit a layup in five
- 47:46tries at the end of the game. It was one of the worst things
- 47:48in Knicks history. But Pat Riley was there for he
- 47:51was, it was just like an epitome of class out there.
- 47:54I thought. And you know, I'm a huge fan.
- 47:57I think everyone that's a basketball fan is a huge fan of
- 47:59Pat Riley. Most deserving statue anyone's
- 48:02ever gotten. It is kind of curious that they
- 48:04waited this long though. Errol.
- 48:06I don't know if it was an issue with the Bus brothers didn't
- 48:09like him. I would imagine since they're
- 48:12gone he seemed to get a statue pretty quickly as soon as they
- 48:14left. So that's my theory.
- 48:16Jeannie Buss is probably the best basketball mind besides her
- 48:19father, Doctor Buss that actually knows what she's doing.
- 48:23The the Bus family really after his their father died, ruined
- 48:27that organization and Jeannie was trying to keep it afloat so
- 48:31and now she's still the president of the organization
- 48:33and and LeBron James taking shots at her recently was just
- 48:36absolutely pathetic. It just shows you how stupid he
- 48:38really is so. LeBron is pretty dumb.
- 48:42Here's a dumb one as well. Lindsey Vonn.
- 48:45We taught this following up on a dial it up from 2 weeks ago when
- 48:48Lindsey Vonn crashed when she went down the downhill.
- 48:52One of the the most dangerous ones in the world they say with
- 48:57a torn ACL. As expected, she wiped out.
- 49:01She apparently wiped out so badly Errol that she had to have
- 49:05numerous surgeries to save her leg from being amputated after
- 49:11the crash. It is in one of the most
- 49:14disgusting things I've ever seen.
- 49:16Again, she took somebody's place on the Olympic team in order for
- 49:19her to just to put her life in danger.
- 49:22It says she had the injuries went far beyond the complex
- 49:26tibia fracture in her leg. It led to compartment syndrome
- 49:31in her leg. High pressure builds up from the
- 49:33muscle, the bleeding and it gets worse, blah blah blah.
- 49:37They had the filet or open. It's just disgusting this entire
- 49:41article I I I just don't understand why someone would try
- 49:47to do this, in the Olympics no less.
- 49:50Dial it up. Well, Alex Smith came back from
- 49:53that horrendous injury. We saw how bad that looked and
- 49:56and nobody thought he was going to come back after having
- 49:59multiple surgeries and some people thought he was going to
- 50:01lose his leg. Has anybody seen Alex Smith's
- 50:04his leg? How do you like how ugly it
- 50:06looks? It looks like somebody beat it
- 50:08with a pipe and then beat it with an axe and it looks
- 50:12horrible. But Lindsey Vonn, she's a, she's
- 50:15a born winner. She wants to compete and she
- 50:18wanted to win another medal. And she thought that she compete
- 50:20with can compete with a torn ACL because of her skills and her
- 50:24ability to to do what she has done at a top level for such a
- 50:28long time. She went out there and she tried
- 50:30to prove it with a 20s. Could you imagine if she won a
- 50:33bronze or a silver with a torn ACL?
- 50:35How how much she can go out there and say that on the
- 50:37Leno's, there's no Leno anymore, but the felon show or the Kimmel
- 50:41show. Well, I did this on a torn ACL.
- 50:44I mean, and I won, I won against the best in the world.
- 50:47So she only wanted to go out there and prove that she can do
- 50:50it at a high level. And, and obviously she couldn't.
- 50:52It's horrible to see and to to hear all the different surgeries
- 50:55she had something done with her hip and all the different stuff
- 50:59that needed to be, you know, fixed for her to keep her leg.
- 51:02It's it's a hard and she's they're saying she needs
- 51:04multiple more surgeries to make sure that she's going to be
- 51:07healthy enough to walk again. So it's horrible.
- 51:10And her father came out and said, how could the Olympic team
- 51:13absolutely let her skate, ski, ski with, with all these
- 51:18different problems she's had going into this Olympic training
- 51:21and an Olympic championship, you know, run.
- 51:24So her father was upset about it and says she's definitely not
- 51:28going to ski ever. Yeah.
- 51:29Yeah, yeah. You can't take the competitive
- 51:31spirit out of somebody, especially with somebody pushing
- 51:33as hard as it was. It was unfortunate with the
- 51:35timing of the first injury just happening two months before
- 51:38that. And I guess because she's fought
- 51:40so hard to get to this point, to even get to there, you, you
- 51:43didn't want to take it out of her, but obviously you knew the
- 51:45risk that was run. The Alex Smith analogy is
- 51:46perfect because you're dealing with somebody that was later in
- 51:49their career too. And again, I think with
- 51:52Vaughn's, her sports a little more dangerous.
- 51:54Obviously, like you said, the mountain was very dangerous.
- 51:55Too, Alex. And you're going to see Lindsey
- 51:57Vonn. She's going to be a broadcaster
- 51:58for the Olympics, Olympics, you know, in four years she's going
- 52:01to be the voice of the ski team and United States skiing because
- 52:05she's loved by everybody. And she she's a beautiful woman.
- 52:09I mean, she's really something to look at still at the age of
- 52:1241. So she's going to get another
- 52:13opportunity to at least go out there and and be something in
- 52:18the future as long as she can walk.
- 52:19But horrible to see somebody that almost was one of the
- 52:24greatest skiers of all time to almost lose her leg because of
- 52:27her coach saying that. Well, her practice run, she made
- 52:30it down the hill so she could do it in competition.
- 52:34That's ridiculous. You have to go faster and on on
- 52:36one of the worst and one of the hardest hills to ski in the
- 52:38whole world. She did it on a torn ACL.
- 52:41It's tough with the snow sports because of how much different
- 52:44types of I guess like different platforms that you have where
- 52:47you have the the moguls with the snowboarding is different than
- 52:50the slopestyle from that. And both of them have skiing
- 52:52variations too. But the downhill one with the
- 52:55with the turns is particularly hard.
- 52:57And it's not a surface that is really sustainable either.
- 53:00And if it's done that badly, as we've seen it do, it's always a
- 53:03big risk. But again, you just just spat of
- 53:05the spirit out of her. So she was going to try and it
- 53:07just sad. Glad that she didn't have her
- 53:09leg amputated. But hopefully these other
- 53:11surgeries are just as successful because it's it's really, really
- 53:13scary. Hey, just like they said in
- 53:16Friday Night Lights, you want to win, put Boobie in.
- 53:19I can't believe she they let her do this.
- 53:22You know, it was, it was like somebody who just needed to be
- 53:25told, no, you're in your 40s and you're really banged up.
- 53:30No, what are you doing? You're going to kill yourself.
- 53:33She's a beautiful woman, but she, it might be the most
- 53:35beautiful one legged woman. You know, if this doesn't go for
- 53:38her way. It's just really sad that people
- 53:40in decision making not only let her do this, but it's also the
- 53:44Olympics. They could have been some 18
- 53:46year old kid that could have gotten a shot instead of putting
- 53:49this woman up to risk. So we got one story left.
- 53:51Let's cheer it up because this one made me laugh so many times.
- 53:55I had to put it in to dial it up.
- 53:56Errol, I don't know if you saw this, but it was inside the NBA
- 54:00after the in the Knicks during the Knicks game.
- 54:04And Oh my God, I'm going to play it for you.
- 54:07Well, Barkley made quite a faux pas in this game, Shaq and Kenny
- 54:13Smith couldn't stop laughing. Neither could I.
- 54:16Well, he basically says instead of the Knicks, he says Dicks and
- 54:20he says it over and again, and they can't stop laughing.
- 54:24It would have been cooler if I could play it, but the Internet
- 54:27doesn't love me right now. Errol, I need you to tell me
- 54:31what is the funniest thing that you've ever seen in a broadcast
- 54:39or you've been a part of in a broadcast That was a accidental
- 54:43saying that didn't get anyone fired, right?
- 54:45Has to be funny because we know about a whole ones that have
- 54:48gotten people fired over the years.
- 54:51Well, well, Mikey see, I mean we going back and forth one show
- 54:56and we were sitting there and they were people on our iPads
- 55:01because we were on we were on a couple of platforms and he
- 55:05started talking about dating girls and and what he does
- 55:08dating girls. And I said, well, what is the
- 55:10craziest thing you ever did? And he told me, he says, well, a
- 55:14couple of dates, he stuck a couple Oreo cookies up his ass.
- 55:17And if the girl, if the girl can grab it with his her mouth and
- 55:21and grab more than five out of his ass, that she's a must.
- 55:26She's a must. She's like a must win girl that
- 55:28he could take home and sleep with.
- 55:30So he, he, he judged the girl by sticking Oreo cookies up his ass
- 55:35and having them grab it with his mouth without using their hands.
- 55:39They're her mouth without using her hands.
- 55:41That was the craziest thing I've ever heard.
- 55:43And he was serious about it too. And I'm, and he's to this day,
- 55:47he's always serious about it. If you hear, if you ask him,
- 55:50he'll tell you. He used that many, many times on
- 55:53the show. And, and he said that, listen,
- 55:56you don't know what kind of girl you have until they can do
- 55:58something crazy. So I, I couldn't believe it.
- 56:04And I sat there and I was like, so you stick Oreo cookies up
- 56:07your ass? And he said yeah.
- 56:10And he said, and they actually eat them.
- 56:12He says, I don't know if they eat them, but they grab them, so
- 56:15I guess they eat them. It's disgusting, but that's the
- 56:18craziest thing. As far as Charles Barkley is
- 56:20concerned, He doesn't like the Knicks.
- 56:23We all know we don't like the Knicks.
- 56:25So he's got a lot of weird things and weird takes about the
- 56:28Knicks. So instead of calling the
- 56:29Knicks, he calls him the Dicks. So I I guess that's his take to
- 56:33it. Even when the Knicks were great,
- 56:35playing great basketball last year in the playoffs, but he
- 56:38picked the Knicks to lose against the Celtics in four
- 56:41games. And then when the Knicks won
- 56:43like 3 games in a row, he was like well he's like I guess the
- 56:46Knicks are going to win this series.
- 56:48He's like the the Celtics, they they're just too many injuries
- 56:51and things aren't going their way.
- 56:52He will never give the Knicks any credit for the what they've
- 56:55built and how much talent they have because he doesn't want to
- 56:59see the Knicks ever win a championship.
- 57:00Because for some reason, I think I know he's friends with Charles
- 57:04Oakley and for some reason he just doesn't like the
- 57:07organization and or he always wanted to be a Knick and the
- 57:10Knicks never wanted him. So I think that's that could be
- 57:14the reason why I don't know, Charles Barkley has his own, you
- 57:17know, agenda hidden agenda. So that's it.
- 57:19Isn't it like a nightmare though, Speedy?
- 57:21Like you say something like that by accident.
- 57:24You don't even realize it. I mean, we all make mistakes
- 57:26when we're talking. That's pretty bad.
- 57:28He said Dicks, you said numerous amount of times, so he knew what
- 57:31he was saying. No, no, like he didn't realize
- 57:34he said it. And then I I think he might have
- 57:37slipped back in the Knicks. He just had no idea he said it.
- 57:39And Shaq did like one of those things where he's still talking
- 57:42and being serious. He also said another thing where
- 57:45he he does, he does a lot of these like talking about banging
- 57:49in the post. He he he gets a little too into
- 57:52talking about that. Well, I don't know what's up
- 57:54with Chuck sometimes. I was gonna bring up the Brett
- 57:57Musburger one. Probably the weirdest 1 though.
- 58:00But go after I've heard Mikey C is probably as far as the
- 58:05craziest thing on air. I think he said some of the
- 58:07craziest stuff, the weirdest stuff I've ever heard in my
- 58:10entire life. And Tyler Harrison with some of
- 58:13his weird tapes, some of the weird takes he's ever had has
- 58:18been one that some that I can never forget.
- 58:21So but Mikey C is is to me one of the most unique individuals
- 58:26when it comes to women and his take on his way of picking a
- 58:32good one and and not picking the right 1.
- 58:35So it's some of the weirdest takes I've ever heard on on a
- 58:40radio show. Thank you to all the fans tuning
- 58:42in and listening to us every single day on Spotify and Apple
- 58:45video and audio. We were ranked 56th in the

- 58:57all the fans out there tuning and listening to us.
- 58:59Thank you to Siobhan, our marketing guy working and
- 59:03working his tail off to get our stuff out there.
- 59:05So thank you to him. Thank you to all the TikTok and
- 59:09apple. I'm sorry, TikTok X Instagram,
- 59:13Facebook, all the the platforms, YouTube, we have a new YouTube
- 59:17channel, YouTube New York. I'm sorry, YouTube New York, a
- 59:21job in the mouth New York. So check that out.
- 59:24It is up. All our New York takes will be
- 59:26up there moving forward. And also we still have the job
- 59:29in the mouth, you know, channel. We also have worldwide Sports
- 59:33Radio network channel if you want to check that out as well.
- 59:37Who do we have on on Thursday? Nobody.
- 59:39Yet nothing yet. And if it's working on something
- 59:41I should. I'm going to reach out to Neil
- 59:42Smith as well, try to get him on.
- 59:44Yeah, I definitely like to hear Neil Smith's take on Team USA
- 59:47hockey. And Neil Smith is a Canadian, so
- 59:50I'm sure he didn't like the fact that USA won the Olympic gold
- 59:55medal. But by the way, what Team USA
- 59:58did with Goudreau and Johnny Goudreau and his family for him
- 1:00:02and his brother was sensational. It shows the heart and soul of
- 1:00:06this. A United States hockey team and
- 1:00:08how how much and how important the Goudreau family meant to
- 1:00:12every single player from, you know, from top to bottom, the
- 1:00:15youth and and and the future of Team USA hockey stands for
- 1:00:19something. When you see Johnny Goudreau's
- 1:00:22United States 15 jersey being held up while they're skating
- 1:00:26around the ice and celebrating. So it was sensational, it really
- 1:00:30was. And seeing his kids get a chance
- 1:00:32to be on there. It is speedy.
- 1:00:34I mean, not Speedy Fish is posting up on a social media.
- 1:00:38All the kids are on the ice, but the players taking pictures with
- 1:00:41the team. So it was nice to see and shout
- 1:00:44out to Bill Garen, John Van Beeasbrook and Team USA Hockey
- 1:00:48for doing and, and really doing something special like that and
- 1:00:53inviting the Goudreau family to celebrate this unbelievable
- 1:00:57feat, which took 46 years to do. So a long, long time.
- 1:01:01And hopefully it doesn't take that long again because we do
- 1:01:05remember 1994 for the New York Rangers and it's been a long 1A
- 1:01:08long one for you Ranger fans. Neil Smith knows all about it.
- 1:01:12Yes, he. Does.
- 1:01:13Because he's the one that built that team and the Rangers pretty
- 1:01:16much threw the Wolves, threw them to the Wolves.
- 1:01:19And he was the one that traded John Van Biesburg.
- 1:01:21And we had our conversation. So I love Neil now.
- 1:01:24He he kind of made me feel good about why he traded John Van
- 1:01:27Biesburg. And he gave me his his take on
- 1:01:29it. So thank you to Neil.
- 1:01:30Thank you to all the fans. We will be back on Thursday.
- 1:01:33Until then, this is Arrow and the the clan of job in the mouth
- 1:01:38saying goodnight and we'll talk to you then.
- 1:01:39Goodnight, everybody. You're you're, you're listening
- 1:01:41to the Worldwide Sports Radio Network.
