There are two kinds of almost.
The one where you gave everything you had and it still wasn't enough to make them stay. And the quieter one — the love that was available, real, right there — that some part of you kept just far enough away to survive losing it.
Both of those are grief. Tonight I'm sitting with both.
No fixes. No challenges. Just a few minutes in the dark with the question that lives underneath all of it — and the thing the wound has been working very hard to keep you from knowing.
