And today, we're going to talk about time again, but in a different way. Days of the week. Luna: Ohh, I've been waiting for this. I always mix up the days when I try to say them. Lucas: Well, today we'll start with two days. Monday and Tuesday. In Amharic, Monday is ሰኞ. Luna: ሰኞ. Lucas: Good. Say it with me. ሰኞ. Luna: ሰኞ. Lucas: And Tuesday is ማክሰኞ. It's a bit longer. ማክሰኞ. Luna: ማክሰኞ. That rolls off the tongue. Lucas: It does. Now, how do we ask what day it is? You say ምን ቀን ነው? That means 'What day is it?' Luna: ምን ቀን ነው? Lucas: Perfect. And to answer, you can say ዛሬ ሰኞ ነው. Today is Monday. Luna: ዛሬ ሰኞ ነው. Today is Monday. Lucas: Great. And if you want to say tomorrow is Tuesday, you say ነገ ማክሰኞ ነው. Luna: ነገ ማክሰኞ ነው. Lucas: Now, let's try a little scene. Imagine you're at work, and someone asks you, ምን ቀን ነው? Luna: Okay, I'd say, ዛሬ ሰኞ ነው. Lucas: Exactly. And if it's Tuesday, you'd say, ዛሬ ማክሰኞ ነው. Luna: ዛሬ ማክሰኞ ነው. Lucas: See, that's easy. Now, let's say you're planning your week. You might say, ነገ ማክሰኞ ነው. Tomorrow is Tuesday. Luna: ነገ ማክሰኞ ነው. So if I want to say 'Tomorrow is Tuesday', I just put 'ነገ' in front. Lucas: Exactly. You're picking it up quickly. Now, let's practice a bit more. How would you ask what day it is? Luna: ምን ቀን ነው? Lucas: Nice. And how would you answer if it's Monday? Luna: ዛሬ ሰኞ ነው.
