- 1:25Speaker 1: people always recognize me too.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Everybody knows who you are, but you don't know whoever.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Exact I learned this.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I I my brother is a politician, and instead of
- 1:33Speaker 2: saying nice to meet you, says nice to see you,
- 1:35Speaker 2: because whether or not they've met you in the past,
- 1:37Speaker 2: it's easy to say nice.

- 3:09Speaker 1: excited to be here to give you your ten day
- 3:11Speaker 1: forecast and talk to some of my other weathermen.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Hey, now, Memphis, I gotta ask right off the gate,
- 3:17Speaker 3: is that a stage name? Or were you born with that?
- 3:19Speaker 1: Would you believe it? I was born with it?
- 3:21Speaker 5: You were born with that?
- 3:22Speaker 1: NT me tell you? Because we grew up in the
- 3:25Speaker 1: same town.
- 3:26Speaker 2: And I know your mom, Deborah light too, and I
- 3:28Speaker 2: know your father Derek Heavy Rain, Yes, and they married
- 3:32Speaker 2: each other.
- 3:32Speaker 5: It's a feminist household.
- 3:35Speaker 1: For absolutely feminists. You can tell it's feminist because we
- 3:38Speaker 1: share a last name. It's a dead giveaway for it hyphened, yes,
- 3:45Speaker 1: So light to heavy Rain is a birth name. It
- 3:48Speaker 1: kind of felt, you know, sometimes the weather chooses you.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Sometimes you choose the weather. Sometimes the weather chooses you,
- 3:54Speaker 1: And so me jumping into weathering is just a meteorology.
- 3:58Speaker 1: It just felt right once I was born like that, Memphis,
- 4:02Speaker 1: Light to Heavy Rain. It just fell right in my hand,
- 4:05Speaker 1: right in my pocket. Are all yours real names or
- 4:07Speaker 1: what are you guys doing? Albuquerque is not.
- 4:10Speaker 2: My original name is Donald, but I went to school
- 4:13Speaker 2: at the University of New Mexico, Go Lobos, and I
- 4:16Speaker 2: of course adopted it because I just love the culture there.
- 4:20Speaker 2: I love the Mexican influences, I love the Native American influences.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Big your house, I love your house in Native American art.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Yes, you really do.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I love so ethically sourced. It's definitely ethically sourced, but
- 4:35Speaker 1: somehow still feels.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Still feels a little off the way.
- 4:39Speaker 5: You're doing it and un ethically.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Listen, the people I bought it from wanted me to
- 4:43Speaker 1: buy it, you know, that's all that matters.
- 4:45Speaker 3: That's all that matters. All that matters, That's all that matters. Well,
- 4:49Speaker 3: I could say that my birth name dirty little secret.
- 4:52Speaker 3: This is a stage name, Seattle Cloud. My original name
- 4:55Speaker 3: was Seattle Sunshine, and that wasn't quite as marketable for
- 4:59Speaker 3: the web they I got from the station.
- 5:04Speaker 1: So for you, Sunshine just wasn't rainy enough for you.
- 5:07Speaker 3: No, it wasn't rainy because I'm sorry as a weather people.
- 5:10Speaker 3: And this is another dirty little secret. We are craving drama,
- 5:15Speaker 3: right and as much as I love.
- 5:17Speaker 1: A hot day.
- 5:18Speaker 3: There's no drama in sunshine.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Cats out of the bag, and it's lipping up, lapping
- 5:22Speaker 1: up milk. I didn't think we get a dirty secret
- 5:26Speaker 1: so quick, but here we are. Let me tell you something.
- 5:28Speaker 1: A day that seventy six doesn't sell, It just doesn't.
- 5:32Speaker 1: We will get process. Oh yeah, we're coming on Tuesday.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, coming soon. Process and questions answered. I'm gonna
- 5:41Speaker 3: throw it over to you. Wait, you already introduced yourself.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Oh it's okay. I was just going to explain though.
- 5:46Speaker 5: My name also is a stage name, believe it or not.
- 5:49Speaker 1: That's fine.
- 5:49Speaker 5: Uh So I'm Yorky Hale, but my full name is
- 5:53Speaker 5: New York, New York.
- 5:59Speaker 1: York, New York.
- 6:03Speaker 5: They were mom, Dean.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Martin, What a dog?
- 6:12Speaker 2: You?
- 6:13Speaker 1: Okay? So I'm sorry, Just to go back to it.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Your mom's a Dean Martin fan, so she changed her
- 6:21Speaker 1: last name to New York and named your first name
- 6:23Speaker 1: New York. I'm confused how last name New York got
- 6:26Speaker 1: into the picture.
- 6:27Speaker 5: My real name is Paul Doodle.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Sorry, so what is New York? New York?
- 6:32Speaker 4: So you let me us Hey, guys, you're at a Friday.
- 6:37Speaker 4: Let's take it back to a Monday, and.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Is are you drinking Scotch. Let's just say I drank
- 6:47Speaker 1: it already, So let me tell you.
- 6:49Speaker 5: The Monday of it, and then we'll get to the Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.
- 6:53Speaker 1: We always you guys know, skip Wednesday's over at ABC.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Guy, great guy, great guy. Terrible card player, absolutely filthy
- 7:05Speaker 3: at poker. That's a dirty little secret.
- 7:07Speaker 4: You cannot play goldfish if it fucking hit him in
- 7:10Speaker 4: his head. Oh, my my name is Paul Doodle. My
- 7:15Speaker 4: my mother and my father. The second I was born
- 7:18Speaker 4: are my nickname was New York, New York around the
- 7:21Speaker 4: household because I only stopped crying when New York, New
- 7:25Speaker 4: York the song it was. It's covered by multiple people.
- 7:28Speaker 4: It's covered by basically the other so anytime it wasn't
- 7:31Speaker 4: the singer itself, it was really whoever was singing it.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I don't know if that matters.
- 7:37Speaker 4: So I'm explaining that's basically my birth name is what
- 7:40Speaker 4: I like to say. But my my law birth birth.
- 7:43Speaker 5: By law name is.
- 7:47Speaker 1: You already forgot it?
- 7:48Speaker 5: You know it's Paul Doodle.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Oh, somebody needs a prompter?
- 7:52Speaker 5: Can I tell you?
- 7:53Speaker 4: I'm looking for the prompter behind you? Guys, and I
- 7:55Speaker 4: can't find it. I think I'm just not used to
- 7:57Speaker 4: being off the cuff. No umbrella here. Oh yeah, So anyway,
- 8:01Speaker 4: my name is Paul Doodle. Then I grew up being
- 8:03Speaker 4: called New York, New York, and now I'm ne York Hill.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Well, let's talk about being weather people. Huh yeah, I mean,
- 8:09Speaker 1: let's get get into it.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Of course, let's get to it.
- 8:13Speaker 5: Believe they're finally letting a bunch of weather people in
- 8:16Speaker 5: the city.
- 8:17Speaker 2: It's dangerous. It's dangerous if we're here. Who's watching the Doppler?
- 8:22Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
- 8:23Speaker 3: Who is what Doppler five thousand?
- 8:25Speaker 1: Oh?
- 8:26Speaker 3: Who's captaining the ship? There's no pilot? Come on now,
- 8:29Speaker 3: I mean, and.
- 8:29Speaker 1: People always wonder.
- 8:30Speaker 3: You know.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Technically our layman's term is weather person, whether man woman,
- 8:35Speaker 2: but also the scientific term what we went to school
- 8:37Speaker 2: for was meteorology.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Meteorology. Isn't that funny? It is such a ring to it.
- 8:43Speaker 3: It's doctor meteorology.
- 8:44Speaker 2: You know.
- 8:45Speaker 3: It feels very fancy, like I got my my my
- 8:47Speaker 3: pinky up. I promise I'm just a regular guy.
- 8:50Speaker 5: I would you guys study meteorology in college?
- 8:53Speaker 3: Uh?
- 8:53Speaker 2: Meteorology aka Latin for knowing how to read one type
- 8:58Speaker 2: of radar. I couldn't wait for You are bad, You
- 9:03Speaker 2: are too bad. Ra Sure if you've heard me say
- 9:05Speaker 2: that joke before, I've heard.
- 9:06Speaker 1: You addio listeners, all the hands were raised audio. Yeah,
- 9:11Speaker 1: let's just say all the hands were raised.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:14Speaker 1: I got into meteorology when I was a little kid.
- 9:17Speaker 2: I grew up in a really small town and I
- 9:20Speaker 2: became and we grew up together, and we grew up together.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Well you remember this, and yes, we can get into this.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I was the little kid known far and wide by
- 9:27Speaker 2: farmers as the one to talk to about whether.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Or not the rain's coming. It was amazing. He had
- 9:34Speaker 1: a sense for it, unlike anything I'd ever seen before.
- 9:37Speaker 1: It was farmers would line up, line up wherever you
- 9:39Speaker 1: were at school. You know, That's where I learned about it,
- 9:42Speaker 1: and then go, what is the kids?
- 9:43Speaker 2: Siy?
- 9:44Speaker 1: What is the kids sigh? Yeah.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I was just trying to live my life, poor kid.
- 9:48Speaker 2: I was just trying to watch hr Puffin stuff on
- 9:50Speaker 2: the camera. I used to used to put all my
- 9:54Speaker 2: favorite TV shows into a camera and watch it. Gotta
- 9:57Speaker 2: just see. I wanted to see natively like how it
- 9:59Speaker 2: felt if I watch it or watch it like I
- 10:02Speaker 2: was watching it being shot.
- 10:04Speaker 1: So I would put in there, that's amazing because that's
- 10:06Speaker 1: also kind of what weathermen do. They're seeing a projection
- 10:09Speaker 1: of themselves on the green stone. That's good.
- 10:11Speaker 2: So I went, you know, and it's hard because I
- 10:14Speaker 2: think for me, the instincts had to kind of fall
- 10:17Speaker 2: away and I had to focus on the science.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Of it all. But I do love your special segment.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Every time that you do your guests as to what's
- 10:25Speaker 1: going to happen you're feeling.
- 10:26Speaker 2: I call it three years out I do. I do
- 10:28Speaker 2: three years in advance of what the weather's going to
- 10:31Speaker 2: look like.
- 10:32Speaker 5: These things are starting to go viral.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Right well, so I started doing them three years ago,
- 10:37Speaker 2: and now they're showing that I was correct in every
- 10:41Speaker 2: single prediction.
- 10:42Speaker 3: We call you the Simpsons of the weatherman world because
- 10:45Speaker 3: you know, you go viral every every once in a while, you.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Get it dead on the Simpsons, s U. N S.
- 10:53Speaker 3: That is exactly incredible.
- 10:54Speaker 5: Did you guys study meteorology?
- 10:56Speaker 3: Well, I got into it a little a little off
- 10:59Speaker 3: the grid. Was a storm chaser by hobby. I had
- 11:03Speaker 3: a camcorder and I was running around running after tornadoes
- 11:06Speaker 3: in the middle of the country's football. Of course, of
- 11:10Speaker 3: course it's our super Bowl there. They said, oh, a
- 11:12Speaker 3: category five NATO is coming into Kansas. I better chase
- 11:16Speaker 3: that thing. So I'd get in the car yard line
- 11:18Speaker 3: exactly exactly. You gotta get into the end zone.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Uh, And so I U.
- 11:22Speaker 3: I would chase these storms. But the problem was I
- 11:26Speaker 3: was and not to toot my own horn too. Handsome
- 11:30Speaker 3: locals wouldn't follow evacuation orders because they were so distracted
- 11:33Speaker 3: by my cheekbones and laugh lines that they couldn't focus
- 11:37Speaker 3: on what they were supposed to do. They didn't go
- 11:39Speaker 3: hide in their in their little tornado cubby holes. They
- 11:42Speaker 3: were out trying to flirt with me, trying to get
- 11:45Speaker 3: my damn number. I heard.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I heard a lot of people were lost that way.
- 11:49Speaker 1: They would come. You'd be standing in front of the tornado,
- 11:51Speaker 1: going get away, get away. They'd come, try to talk
- 11:53Speaker 1: to you. Not hunger, down er, anythink, fly round into
- 11:55Speaker 1: the tornado.
- 11:56Speaker 3: It's like bots to a flame. It was, honestly so.
- 12:00Speaker 3: And I'm mourned for them all the time, and that
- 12:03Speaker 3: rests heavy on my conscience. But that was eventually how
- 12:07Speaker 3: I spotted because my other you know, my fellow storm
- 12:10Speaker 3: chasers basically said, buddy, you got to get out of here.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Well, they called you the tornado siren, which not a
- 12:15Speaker 2: siren that plays tornadoes, but the Greek mythology term where
- 12:18Speaker 2: you call someonunder the rocks.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Where it's dangerous where, which is an awful name because
- 12:22Speaker 1: also very confusing, you.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Know, very confusing because people say, follow, listen for the siren,
- 12:27Speaker 3: and then they go, oh, incredible, like pold, like.
- 12:32Speaker 1: They that, oh really did give all?
- 12:37Speaker 3: I mean, you guys are a bunch of lookers. I
- 12:39Speaker 3: can't imagine you with glasses on in meteorology school. Well,
- 12:42Speaker 3: your cheekbones are so huge. I heard a rumor that
- 12:46Speaker 3: at the studio you work at you have a separate
- 12:47Speaker 3: parking spot for your cheekbones. I do, of course, and
- 12:50Speaker 3: it's a little gag that started at the Christmas party.
- 12:53Speaker 3: But I keep it on because I like it and
- 12:54Speaker 3: everybody likes it.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I guess a cue card guid did that?
- 12:57Speaker 2: Huh?
- 12:57Speaker 3: A cute card guy?
- 12:58Speaker 1: Did they loved you? I love sad. What happened to
- 13:02Speaker 1: Q card guys? What's Telepropter's came around? Well? Those?
- 13:05Speaker 2: Honestly I felt bad for him, but also I know
- 13:07Speaker 2: they finally got a good day arrest. Yeah, because one
- 13:10Speaker 2: time que cards for news is so much right, it's
- 13:15Speaker 2: especially breaking.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Paper cuts heel over because it.
- 13:18Speaker 4: Is Uh, it is a tough They are writing so
- 13:21Speaker 4: quickly when it's we're in early at four am to
- 13:23Speaker 4: get to hear him makeup there here at midnight writing
- 13:25Speaker 4: on those boards that they got them from Michaels.
- 13:27Speaker 2: We used to say, your only your news is only
- 13:30Speaker 2: as breaking as your que card guy is fast.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Yes, exactly, exactly exactly did you school for me to
- 13:36Speaker 3: your own?
- 13:36Speaker 5: I did.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I kind of fell into it because my last name,
- 13:40Speaker 1: but I found I was actually I started out as
- 13:43Speaker 1: somewhat of an actor. I studied drama primarily, but one
- 13:48Speaker 1: time I got chewed out by Mike uh professor a
- 13:50Speaker 1: little too hard, so I switched to meteorology. It was yes,
- 13:55Speaker 1: we were doing a little Shop of Horrors and he
- 13:58Speaker 1: hated my version of it.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Oh what what was your take? What went wrong?
- 14:02Speaker 1: I tried to do Seymour as a little bit more
- 14:07Speaker 1: rascally and dangerous and gritty, if you will, so, oh
- 14:13Speaker 1: you know, when you know, well, give me a couple
- 14:15Speaker 1: of lines from Seymour. Oh, Audrey, I got you this
- 14:18Speaker 1: leather jacket.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Got It's like he's in the room with us and
- 14:25Speaker 3: I freaking out.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I popped that one, so sorry, I popped right into it. Yeah. Absolutely, Wow.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Do you ever want to go back to acting? Do
- 14:34Speaker 3: you ever get the bug?
- 14:35Speaker 1: There's sometimes I do check my actors access video for you.
- 14:39Speaker 3: But good for you, good for your book, good for you.
- 14:44Speaker 1: And thank you. So you can go back and asked,
- 14:46Speaker 1: I go back and back. I'm waiting for submitted or submitted.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I'm waiting for a submission or a breakdown to come
- 14:52Speaker 1: through my actor's access. So if you're listening, if we
- 14:56Speaker 1: want to reach me, I find this guy's actor's access.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Find this guy's actors acts guys.
- 15:02Speaker 4: Get this guy's actors access, and put one thing about
- 15:04Speaker 4: my actors accesses.
- 15:06Speaker 1: That is actually what I use my stage name, which
- 15:08Speaker 1: is Memphis don Memphis.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Don't like d O M E or or d O
- 15:14Speaker 3: n E, but pronounce different than done.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Those are the two choices. Well, shoot, I'm realizing it
- 15:24Speaker 1: is done.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Memphis done, Memphis done.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Probably why audition start coming? Well? Shoot, well, shoot, it's
- 15:36Speaker 1: so tough.
- 15:36Speaker 3: When you.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Pronounce it. Do you spelling it out like that? He shoo, shoot.
- 15:47Speaker 3: I know what we call a missed forecast, and that
- 15:49Speaker 3: it happens to the best.
- 15:51Speaker 1: I am done. Let's talk about a mis forecast, nothing worse,
- 15:56Speaker 1: nothing worse, predicting rain and getting a bunch of male
- 15:59Speaker 1: writing and saying it's it's not rainy at all today.
- 16:02Speaker 2: You know, it's tough because I think as a weather man,
- 16:04Speaker 2: as a meteorologist, people actively want you to be wrong
- 16:08Speaker 2: so they can have something to be mad about it exactly.
- 16:10Speaker 2: You know, if you did something wrong, you are literally
- 16:13Speaker 2: the reason why somebody can't have a keensanira. You're the
- 16:17Speaker 2: reason why somebody can't have their baseball game.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I don't know. If you're predicting sun and it rains
- 16:22Speaker 1: on somebody's wedding day, they're not saying it's ironic. They're saying,
- 16:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna fucking kill.
- 16:27Speaker 5: But here's the bad guys. This hasn't been. This hasn't
- 16:30Speaker 5: been what's been happening in our industry for that long.
- 16:32Speaker 4: It's only since the twitters started that they can find
- 16:35Speaker 4: me and tell me you made me cancel my wedding.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Because before, in the nineties, I would report this stuff
- 16:42Speaker 4: and it would go to dead ears. On MySpace exactly.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Well, it's like you know, now, it was mail. Of
- 16:47Speaker 3: course they would send you in and they would be
- 16:49Speaker 3: pissed off about a day. But because of the speed
- 16:51Speaker 3: of mail, you don't even know what day they're talking about.
- 16:53Speaker 3: So it rolls out the cheek a little easier, and
- 16:55Speaker 3: you count's pretty mean, and your cheek is so steep,
- 16:58Speaker 3: and it takes a long time to roll off the thing.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Let me tell you this is what I miss about
- 17:01Speaker 1: physical mail. You can burn mail. You can't burn your computer.
- 17:04Speaker 4: Oh, you can't burn a Twitter tweet tweet can't You
- 17:07Speaker 4: can't burn you can't They stay on.
- 17:09Speaker 1: And I've learned hard lessons about responding. Yeah, I'm sure
- 17:14Speaker 1: I have you guys ever responded to it?
- 17:15Speaker 6: Oh?
- 17:16Speaker 5: I always use the emoji with the two hands up
- 17:18Speaker 5: like this and the and the clouds.
- 17:19Speaker 7: Well.
- 17:20Speaker 3: I used to be more like texting, where you got
- 17:22Speaker 3: to talk to everybody who talks to you. But I
- 17:25Speaker 3: was recently told by the station, Hey, buddy, you don't
- 17:27Speaker 3: gotta talk to everybody like that.
- 17:29Speaker 2: I hold office hours. I let people come in for
- 17:32Speaker 2: one hour a week and tell me how they feel.
- 17:34Speaker 2: I don't receive anything else, and I usually in person.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:38Speaker 2: So I'm in Boston and we our studio is behind
- 17:41Speaker 2: a big glass wall that you can watch us record
- 17:44Speaker 2: when we're recording on Good Day Boston, right by the
- 17:48Speaker 2: State House, and uh, it's it's fun because they'll come
- 17:51Speaker 2: over and I'll just sit there and I'll listen to
- 17:52Speaker 2: them for an hour and they can scream at me.
- 17:54Speaker 1: But it through glass. They can do whatever they want.
- 17:56Speaker 2: And sometimes I act like I'm listening and sometimes I
- 17:58Speaker 2: act like I'm not, but I ever can hear them.
- 18:01Speaker 5: We could not do that New York. We could never
- 18:04Speaker 5: do that in New York.
- 18:05Speaker 1: What tunny is actually they do that on The Today
- 18:06Speaker 1: Show every single day.
- 18:07Speaker 5: We couldn't state New York not enough.
- 18:12Speaker 3: They don't have that strong up there.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I had a The Today Show you don't know, Okay,
- 18:18Speaker 1: you're not doing That's a classic weather we all know.
- 18:21Speaker 1: We all have run ins with it, kind of like
- 18:24Speaker 1: Andy Dick of the Weather. He is problematic. The and
- 18:30Speaker 1: Dick mean drunk and really really problematic.
- 18:33Speaker 3: And hitting on my we mean drunk and hitting on
- 18:35Speaker 3: my real life friends. That's what we mean by And
- 18:39Speaker 3: that's a personal anecdote from all of us.
- 18:43Speaker 1: We love al but in a way that we want
- 18:45Speaker 1: Andy Dick where you never go near him.
- 18:48Speaker 4: But I love AL and AL created some of the
- 18:51Speaker 4: Ten Commandments. I'd say of our industry, some of the.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Some of the before OL was only four or five.
- 18:59Speaker 3: I mean, we could talk about the ten Commandments. I mean,
- 19:04Speaker 3: this isn't somebody that's something that we let the public
- 19:06Speaker 3: in on. But I one of the commandments, this is
- 19:08Speaker 3: the first one I learned. Number six is a smile
- 19:12Speaker 3: saves lives, but a frown makes it rain.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Yeah, a huge commandment there, that's huge. Number one is
- 19:20Speaker 1: uh proverb if you will?
- 19:21Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, sort of a rhyme more than order one
- 19:25Speaker 2: through five or thou shalts and then six through ten
- 19:27Speaker 2: are kind of proverbs.
- 19:28Speaker 3: There's sort of confusing.
- 19:31Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I guess which one's out there? Did he
- 19:33Speaker 7: the owl shouts or did he depends on what he
- 19:36Speaker 7: was drinking is a problem. I'm sorry, darling, And by
- 19:40Speaker 7: that I mean colleague listen. I would say my favorite
- 19:44Speaker 7: commandment is thou shalt point to where you're talking about.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Yeah, that one sounds way more like a commandment, Yeah, exactly.
- 19:54Speaker 5: The other ones, which is be kind and rewind.
- 19:58Speaker 1: And that came out right at that movie came out.
- 20:01Speaker 1: We learned a lot from Whether People. We learned a
- 20:04Speaker 1: lot from be Kind rewind. We love that Shell Gondry film. Yes,
- 20:08Speaker 1: number two, of course is thou shalt never say one
- 20:11Speaker 1: hundred percent anything. We can never ever guarantee one hundred
- 20:15Speaker 1: percent something's gonna happen, because bad things can happen if
- 20:17Speaker 1: you do one hundred percent.
- 20:18Speaker 3: There's a hunt. And there's another saying, which is there's
- 20:20Speaker 3: one hundred percent chance it's gonna bite you in the
- 20:22Speaker 3: ass if you say what.
- 20:24Speaker 1: So that's nine A. So nine is actually connected to two.
- 20:28Speaker 5: We should tell you the tears. There's there's one through ten,
- 20:31Speaker 5: and then there's abc D.
- 20:33Speaker 1: This is why you go to school folks for it, because.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Every weatherman wants to put their own little spin on it.
- 20:39Speaker 3: So the commandments is and we got a Google doc
- 20:42Speaker 3: full of these.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it's on a Google doc, so it's always changing.
- 20:46Speaker 1: It's like we when the weatherman founded it, they wanted
- 20:48Speaker 1: to make sure it's like the Constitution, a living document exactly,
- 20:51Speaker 1: so they put it on Google Docs so it could
- 20:54Speaker 1: always be edited. All you have to do is request access.
- 20:57Speaker 3: And that's true. That is a that is the only living,
- 21:00Speaker 3: truly living document we have. It's truly granditable community to
- 21:04Speaker 3: Google doc and I tell you.
- 21:06Speaker 4: Uh, Commandments eight through ten start were added when women
- 21:10Speaker 4: started becoming weather people.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Yes, right, that's why number three is women can be
- 21:15Speaker 1: weather people. Yeah, huge one. It kind of broke weather
- 21:19Speaker 1: men in half when that came around. They didn't know
- 21:22Speaker 1: what was happening. They didn't know how to handle it.
- 21:24Speaker 3: You guys, remember what happened to uh to uh Florida, Florida, Florida, Florida.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Flor Florida.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Son, I'm not sure you're talking about the weather women
- 21:34Speaker 2: in Florida, Florida, Florida, Florida.
- 21:36Speaker 5: All they're good, both are good.
- 21:37Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no, no, it was it was Florida, Florida, Florida, Florida.
- 21:41Speaker 3: I was fixing her up with her sister.
- 21:42Speaker 2: We used to date well, Florida, Florida, Florida, Florida. You
- 21:45Speaker 2: might know her by her nickname Florida because it's Florida, Florida.
- 21:48Speaker 3: Yes, of course, Florida, Florida, Florida, Florida, Florida.
- 21:51Speaker 6: What did they.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Florida?
- 21:58Speaker 3: Now, what the hell did I bring this up?
- 22:00Speaker 1: Florida Florida, something about women getting become weathermed You.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Know, I don't have the faintest idea where I was
- 22:07Speaker 3: going with this.
- 22:08Speaker 5: We were talking about women in the industry because we
- 22:10Speaker 5: love them women.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Well, the thing was, but she was talking, well I'm
- 22:15Speaker 1: talking now, I'm talking now.
- 22:20Speaker 5: Oh, I remember what it was.
- 22:22Speaker 3: I remember what it was. And it was related to
- 22:25Speaker 3: a thing you said that we kind of zipped by,
- 22:28Speaker 3: which was that, uh, the weather men were having a
- 22:32Speaker 3: tough time with it. But Florida, Florida, Florida, Florida, Florida.
- 22:38Speaker 1: If you if you said that after.
- 22:41Speaker 5: Don't you know.
- 22:44Speaker 3: When she got on the scene in in Memphis, she
- 22:48Speaker 3: split four weathermen in half. They literally fell apart in
- 22:52Speaker 3: the scenes. I can't.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I know it was she literally killed multiple weathermen.
- 22:59Speaker 5: What's my favorite thing to do after your work?
- 23:00Speaker 1: As you go?
- 23:01Speaker 5: And now, wasn't that worth it?
- 23:02Speaker 1: Absolutely?
- 23:03Speaker 3: We'll cut it out. They always cut it out.
- 23:05Speaker 2: But I love to say I did want to talk
- 23:07Speaker 2: about if we could uh jump storms for a second. Okay,
- 23:12Speaker 2: a new front's coming in. It's a new topic. And
- 23:14Speaker 2: move into a different county. Yeah, move into a different county.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Let's move on over here to I want to talk
- 23:18Speaker 2: about banter with the anchors.
- 23:22Speaker 1: That is something that I was.
- 23:24Speaker 3: You'd bring this up.
- 23:26Speaker 5: I get a little off the cuff.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Well, let's talk about it, because on the job you
- 23:30Speaker 2: got to learn this. They don't teach you this in college,
- 23:33Speaker 2: but what you're prepared for when you get in for
- 23:35Speaker 2: the first weather cast, you talk about exactly what the
- 23:39Speaker 2: weather is, and then they cut back and you're way
- 23:41Speaker 2: far away in the studio from the anchors, and you
- 23:43Speaker 2: talk for what it feels like five hundred years about
- 23:47Speaker 2: absolutely nothing with the anchors.
- 23:49Speaker 3: And sometimes you know, the producers, they're in your ear
- 23:51Speaker 3: and they say, we got a stall, we got install
- 23:54Speaker 3: because the news that you know, you hit these points,
- 23:56Speaker 3: but at a certain point, sometimes it doesn't work out
- 23:58Speaker 3: the timing, uh, and so we we sometimes have to
- 24:01Speaker 3: go on and on and on and on. And I
- 24:04Speaker 3: remember talking about different scenarios in which rain could happen
- 24:07Speaker 3: for years. There was one twenty three minutes I went
- 24:10Speaker 3: on a run, a banter run of well, I hope
- 24:13Speaker 3: you brought your umbrella to the beach if you're going
- 24:15Speaker 3: to the beach, and then you know, Herb, Herb at
- 24:17Speaker 3: the desk would go, well, I hope you brought your
- 24:20Speaker 3: umbrella if you win hiking, and then he'd throw it
- 24:23Speaker 3: right on back to me. I'd go, I hope you
- 24:24Speaker 3: brought your umbrella if.
- 24:26Speaker 1: You were on a trail twenty seven minutes away.
- 24:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Yeah. Then I throw it back to herb and he says,
- 24:32Speaker 3: I hope you brought your umbrella if you're going shopping
- 24:34Speaker 3: at Target. And then I say, well, then you don't
- 24:37Speaker 3: need boy, you're inside, and then he goes, well, I bet,
- 24:40Speaker 3: I bet not the way I do it, and then
- 24:42Speaker 3: we we sort of went on a run on that
- 24:44Speaker 3: for a few minutes. That hurt umbrellas.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Run more of an argument.
- 24:49Speaker 2: You're forgetting what Leslie Wilkins, who was the female anchor
- 24:52Speaker 2: at the time, right, She kept saying boys.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Yeah, she would say boys, boys. There's interesting John Oliver
- 24:59Speaker 3: did this, HILARI. He is super cut.
- 25:02Speaker 1: And going.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Their digital team is ruthless with the news footage. They
- 25:07Speaker 3: are always have you guys got one on last Week Tonight.
- 25:11Speaker 1: I've been on a lot of them, and.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Jo John Oliver sends uh people to he we hire
- 25:19Speaker 2: people as PA's who end up being Last Week Tonight
- 25:22Speaker 2: writers and that's really the rats.
- 25:25Speaker 1: They're pranks.
- 25:26Speaker 3: No, they're they're thinking of clippable moments all day long. Yeah,
- 25:29Speaker 3: and you know we're on autopilots sometimes we're just talking
- 25:33Speaker 3: and they and they all they see is clips.
- 25:35Speaker 2: I actually have a surprise for you guys. I got
- 25:38Speaker 2: together with the producers of this podcast, and I got
- 25:41Speaker 2: examples of banter from all of our broadcasts.
- 25:44Speaker 5: Oh my god, are you gonna play them behind my screen?
- 25:49Speaker 6: Oh?
- 25:49Speaker 1: I don't have a green screen. We're just gonna play
- 25:52Speaker 1: them on the screens over there.
- 25:53Speaker 5: We can't point at it.
- 25:54Speaker 1: We can point at it if you are just going
- 25:56Speaker 1: to point that way?
- 25:57Speaker 5: Can you point forward?
- 25:58Speaker 2: No?
- 25:58Speaker 5: No, no, I'm the right.
- 26:00Speaker 1: You want to try pointing forward? Just once tried that way?
- 26:04Speaker 1: Can I Can I listener at home?
- 26:07Speaker 5: Yeah? Please push please?
- 26:08Speaker 3: Oh oh oh oh.
- 26:10Speaker 5: This is like physical therapy.
- 26:12Speaker 3: You better hit the chiropractor after this.
- 26:14Speaker 4: I'm just not used to putting my body that way. Here,
- 26:16Speaker 4: I am facing you. Sure, we're facing the left. Sure, anyway,
- 26:20Speaker 4: let's play those clips.
- 26:22Speaker 5: So is this crazy?
- 26:24Speaker 2: So?
- 26:24Speaker 3: This is clip? So bright?
- 26:26Speaker 2: This is your clip. It's the anchors talking. It's it's well, no,
- 26:29Speaker 2: here's what it is. It's you finishing the broadcast. And
- 26:32Speaker 2: then the anchors talking a little bit before the at
- 26:36Speaker 2: my legendary. Yes, I guess was it?
- 26:39Speaker 1: So here's yours. Let's let's play yours, buddy players. And
- 26:42Speaker 1: that's the ten day forecast. I've been Memphis light the
- 26:45Speaker 1: heavy rain, Thank you guys so much.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Wow, looks like, uh, I'm probably gonna have to cancel
- 26:51Speaker 2: my kid's birthday party this weekend.
- 26:53Speaker 5: Looks like we will not be able to do the
- 26:55Speaker 5: bouncy out.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Well, I wouldn't count it too much. It's only thirty percent.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Maybe let the guests know a little bouncing in the ring.
- 27:03Speaker 5: Oh, Memphis, you love to bounce.
- 27:05Speaker 1: I love to bounce on that cock. I mean, oh.
- 27:13Speaker 2: That was.
- 27:15Speaker 3: I want to know.
- 27:16Speaker 5: Before anyone talks. I want to know what bouncing on
- 27:19Speaker 5: a cock?
- 27:20Speaker 3: It's you?
- 27:23Speaker 1: What is bouncing on a cock?
- 27:25Speaker 3: Is that?
- 27:25Speaker 5: Is that jacking it off?
- 27:27Speaker 1: I think?
- 27:30Speaker 3: Oh, my mind didn't even go there. My friend I
- 27:33Speaker 3: assumed vaginal. My bad.
- 27:37Speaker 1: So we don't really need to talk about the nitty
- 27:39Speaker 1: gretedy details I was.
- 27:42Speaker 3: I guess, so, no, this is very out of character
- 27:45Speaker 3: for me. I will say, I gotta wash my damn
- 27:47Speaker 3: mouth out with soap.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Yeah, so I was trying to do a light banter
- 27:51Speaker 1: completely blew it. Uh, and they didn't. Unfortunately, they couldn't
- 27:54Speaker 1: edit it out, so I got in a lot of trouble.
- 27:56Speaker 1: But luckily, uh, you know, I think that was one
- 27:59Speaker 1: of my worst ones, unless you guys.
- 28:01Speaker 3: Got to be the worst one, I would hope telling we.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Have oh you have another one? No, No, that's not okay.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I want to do more. No, I don't need to
- 28:08Speaker 1: do more. I think we got York's next. Okay, yeah,
- 28:11Speaker 1: let's play it.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Oh, if it's anything based off of what I've been
- 28:14Speaker 4: doing on this couch, I'm worried.
- 28:17Speaker 1: All right, are you wasted? What is going on? Are
- 28:21Speaker 1: you drinking like deep Martin or something?
- 28:24Speaker 3: Well, if you want to know.
- 28:27Speaker 4: No one asked me if I went to meteorology school,
- 28:31Speaker 4: because I didn't.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Because I'm the hag at the table.
- 28:36Speaker 5: At the table, the hag, the hack look at Okay,
- 28:42Speaker 5: play my clip.
- 28:43Speaker 2: All right, and I'm gonna play it. And it starts
- 28:46Speaker 2: with you talking and goes into the anchors just the
- 28:49Speaker 2: end of the end of your forecast.
- 28:51Speaker 5: Thank you for really walking me and I'll see you later.
- 28:56Speaker 5: I'm New Yorky Hale.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Good night. Wow. Some great weather coming up, isn't it.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm excited I might get uh my, my, my,
- 29:05Speaker 3: my towel after the beach.
- 29:07Speaker 1: It sounds like a great day for towel.
- 29:09Speaker 3: Off right, Yeah, No, do I feel like Yorky?
- 29:15Speaker 1: You're still on still boy?
- 29:18Speaker 5: They both really winging it today.
- 29:21Speaker 3: Well, well, you know, John, John, I think I'm sure
- 29:26Speaker 3: looking forward to the sun shot.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I'm really looking forward to You're still Yorky. You know
- 29:33Speaker 1: it's all.
- 29:36Speaker 3: So now, you know so?
- 29:38Speaker 1: I hate that clip.
- 29:39Speaker 2: I can't believe you found Yeah, that was the first
- 29:42Speaker 2: thing that came up when I googled your name.
- 29:46Speaker 3: I'm a hag in the land. You keep saying it
- 29:49Speaker 3: with a G instead of a c K. That's why
- 29:52Speaker 3: we're confused.
- 29:53Speaker 1: My friend. Very different things, hagged hack, just fundamentally different.
- 29:59Speaker 5: Well, can I sleep in the snow?
- 30:01Speaker 1: What made you feel so much like a hag? After
- 30:03Speaker 1: that broadcast? You never sweat so much?
- 30:06Speaker 5: You feel like a hag. You don't think you're out
- 30:14Speaker 5: there with the bright lights.
- 30:15Speaker 1: And got all these and it's all you feel sometimes.
- 30:21Speaker 5: Like you're talking so much, your mouth is so dry.
- 30:23Speaker 3: You're a fucking hag, you know, my friend, I've never
- 30:26Speaker 3: thought that way. I also think Hag is quite gender,
- 30:29Speaker 3: and I would say, you know, we're all sixty five
- 30:31Speaker 3: year old men, give or take.
- 30:32Speaker 5: Right, And so I fell like a hag.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Now, my friend, I get I think you're getting a
- 30:38Speaker 3: bit off Mic. We might get into trouble. Don't want
- 30:40Speaker 3: you getting on John Oliver again.
- 30:42Speaker 5: No, you're right.
- 30:44Speaker 1: You should quite your mouth because we've got your clip. Yeah,
- 30:46Speaker 1: you should talk.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Okay, I'm a little nervous for what this is gonna
- 30:50Speaker 3: do again, just to it's gonna start with you. I'm
- 30:54Speaker 3: gonna talk first.
- 30:55Speaker 1: You're gonna talk first.
- 30:57Speaker 5: Getting of your clip is the end of your forecast.
- 31:00Speaker 3: You can't great, So somebody play that climic. All right,
- 31:02Speaker 3: play and we can expect San Jose to get the
- 31:06Speaker 3: brunt of the storm with sixty five percent chance of
- 31:09Speaker 3: brain moving on up into Sacramento. We will see that
- 31:12Speaker 3: seventy percent chance, but should clear up by midday. Just
- 31:16Speaker 3: five pm. Back to you, Cheryl, Wow, just in time.
- 31:19Speaker 1: For the Golden State Warriors game. It'll be great.
- 31:21Speaker 5: Oh, that'll be awesome.
- 31:22Speaker 1: What do you yeah, baby?
- 31:24Speaker 3: Yeah, baby, can't wait to see you. Can't wait to
- 31:27Speaker 3: see you tonight at that Warriors game.
- 31:29Speaker 5: We are looking forward to a win for a Bay Area.
- 31:31Speaker 2: We're gonna be going za accident for Steph Curry is
- 31:34Speaker 2: going to be back tonight, what zion?
- 31:38Speaker 1: Yeah, we're talking to you.
- 31:39Speaker 5: Yeah, we're still on.
- 31:41Speaker 3: No, you're playing a brank on me? Yeah baby, no, yeah, baby.
- 31:45Speaker 1: I can't wait to see you tonight.
- 31:46Speaker 3: I can't wait to see you tonight.
- 31:47Speaker 5: I can't wait to see Steph Curry tonight.
- 31:51Speaker 1: I can't wait to watch the back.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Yeah, baby, me too. Yeah. You gonna wear that little dress?
- 31:56Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, baby, and we will have baby.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Oh my good breaking news. There has been a shooting
- 32:01Speaker 1: at them all.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Well, I hope it doesn't rain. That was actually the
- 32:05Speaker 3: worst part in the We didn't have to play the
- 32:21Speaker 3: other No, that was the worst part of the cliff.
- 32:24Speaker 3: It's it's interesting. It's a double whay because I really
- 32:27Speaker 3: thought the first part was Bad's the worst thing to say.
- 32:32Speaker 1: You're doing voice to text, but you added inflection for
- 32:36Speaker 1: the text, and the end is just the word everything.
- 32:42Speaker 4: There have been so many ungodful shootings that are so disgusting,
- 32:47Speaker 4: and no one has ever said anything more.
- 32:51Speaker 5: About my friends.
- 32:53Speaker 3: I'm not proud my friends. I'm not proud and thank
- 32:56Speaker 3: god I have these cheekbones, Otherwise I would not have
- 32:58Speaker 3: skated out of that thing alive. You know, it's funny,
- 33:01Speaker 3: speaking of insensitive, they actually played that on America's Funniest
- 33:04Speaker 3: Home Videos, which I feel like is tonally incorrect.
- 33:07Speaker 4: It's also did you make a mistake or were you?
- 33:09Speaker 4: It's were you hoping it wouldn't rain?
- 33:12Speaker 1: Well?
- 33:13Speaker 3: I I genuinely was hoping it wouldn't rain. I thought,
- 33:16Speaker 3: what could be the worst thing that would happen to
- 33:17Speaker 3: those people? After that happened, well, I think.
- 33:19Speaker 1: What's hard too, is you're the weather person, right, all
- 33:24Speaker 1: you can about you can discuss it.
- 33:28Speaker 3: I guess I'm not supposed to talk about hoping. I'm
- 33:31Speaker 3: supposed to talk about numb facts or not. It's not
- 33:34Speaker 3: my proudest moment, gentlemen, it's not my proudest.
- 33:37Speaker 5: Moments in her monologue. Doesn't rain, it's not helpful for anyone.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Well, my friends, I'm nothing if not honest, and sometimes
- 33:52Speaker 3: it's gotten me into trouble.
- 33:55Speaker 5: You're honest, and I'm a hag.
- 33:57Speaker 1: You have a clip of me.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Of course, I'm not gonna throw you guys under the bus,
- 34:01Speaker 2: shoving myself on.
- 34:02Speaker 1: The fourth okay, this clip, it's gonna start all right,
- 34:08Speaker 1: thank you guys.
- 34:08Speaker 3: All right, uh let me see, let me see your
- 34:10Speaker 3: laptop over here and play.
- 34:15Speaker 1: And it looks like it's.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Gonna be beautiful in the back bay this weekend, and
- 34:19Speaker 2: we're gonna have a gorgeous, gorgeous day for a lot
- 34:21Speaker 2: of fun in the sun.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Maybe head out to the Commons, get on the swamp
- 34:24Speaker 1: boat and I have a good time. I am so
- 34:27Speaker 1: looking forward to a gorgeous day. It's about time.
- 34:30Speaker 3: It's about time, after the after the rain we've had.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Huh, I'm really excited. I I didn't like the rain.
- 34:35Speaker 2: No, it was I know, I'm a weather man and
- 34:36Speaker 2: I am supposed to like all the weather, but I
- 34:39Speaker 2: don't like the rain.
- 34:40Speaker 1: You don't have to like that. I like the rain.
- 34:43Speaker 3: Hot take over here.
- 34:45Speaker 1: It's okay. What are you guys up to this week?
- 34:46Speaker 1: And anything fun? Well, I think I'm gonna go take
- 34:49Speaker 1: the kids and the wife out boating.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Well that's nice. What's happening? Do you.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I have to go? What was that?
- 34:59Speaker 3: What was that?
- 35:00Speaker 6: Just?
- 35:01Speaker 1: I just got a call from my doctor. What's going on?
- 35:04Speaker 1: Turns out my farts are ripping. My farts are so acidic.
- 35:08Speaker 1: They are hurting my butthole. Turns out my farts are
- 35:12Speaker 1: poisonous to my butthole.
- 35:15Speaker 3: I think, I think the sun is going to be
- 35:16Speaker 3: quite well.
- 35:18Speaker 1: My own butthole, it's going to be great. Oh my god,
- 35:21Speaker 1: my farts are killing my butthole. My farts.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Right, you've been you've been laying off the nachos lately,
- 35:28Speaker 3: having too many snacks.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Don't you talk about what I eat. It's not about
- 35:31Speaker 1: what I eat is what comes out. Farts are killing
- 35:34Speaker 1: my butthole. Farts, you're killing my butthole. It's just in
- 35:37Speaker 1: breaking news. One of the towers of the Twin Towers
- 35:40Speaker 1: has fallen. I hope it doesn't rain. I love it parallel.
- 35:48Speaker 3: It's such a mistake to make.
- 35:51Speaker 1: I've done it too. I bought it because I saw
- 35:53Speaker 1: yours and I said, I've done it.
- 35:54Speaker 3: Sort of a gut reaction.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Yeah, And it turns out it was just kind of
- 35:58Speaker 1: it was the nachos.
- 36:00Speaker 5: It turns out your butthole wasn't being killed.
- 36:02Speaker 1: I guess. I guess farts can't kill anything. That's an
- 36:06Speaker 1: important lesson to learn it. I guess farts can't.
- 36:08Speaker 4: But I will say that clip that is like our
- 36:11Speaker 4: to play us out of the weathermen's absolutely to play.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Us out, you know, you know, yeah, well I hated
- 36:16Speaker 2: that the double Rainbow guys made farts are Killing my
- 36:19Speaker 2: butthole into a song.
- 36:19Speaker 1: I didn't like that. Absolutely, you know that time was
- 36:22Speaker 1: was tough.
- 36:22Speaker 3: And also they dug that footage up from from from
- 36:25Speaker 3: so long ago, I mean two thousand and one.
- 36:27Speaker 1: That was you think it'd buried? You think?
- 36:30Speaker 5: And Rossey o'donald did that like dance on top of
- 36:33Speaker 5: that that audio.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Yeah, she did the farts are killing my butthole audio
- 36:37Speaker 1: audio dance. Crazy that Rosie o'donald did that dance. What
- 36:41Speaker 1: I'm just saying. So here's Hags on the mic. No,
- 36:46Speaker 1: sorry about that, super big sir, New York, New York.
- 36:54Speaker 1: You're not a hat guys.
- 36:56Speaker 5: What is your favorite forecast to report on?
- 37:00Speaker 1: Oh oh man, you're dream for We talked about this
- 37:03Speaker 1: a little earlier.
- 37:03Speaker 2: You said tornadoes are like the Super Bowl, right, But
- 37:05Speaker 2: for weather people, every sort of weather phenomena is its
- 37:10Speaker 2: own events. So tornadoes are like the Super Bowl, hurricanes
- 37:13Speaker 2: are a little bit like the People's Choice Awards.
- 37:16Speaker 3: Yeah, we're just things.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Can we.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Can we talk about it. They're saying, every little storm
- 37:23Speaker 3: pattern with a swirly thingy is a hurricane.
- 37:27Speaker 5: Can I tell you?
- 37:29Speaker 4: Part of me thinks ever since they got we got
- 37:31Speaker 4: really good TVs in the homes, really good image on
- 37:35Speaker 4: the TVs, that they.
- 37:36Speaker 5: Just want to do those tornadoes to show how good.
- 37:39Speaker 1: The home and let's talk about it too, and let's
- 37:41Speaker 1: be honest.
- 37:41Speaker 3: The graphics team is having too much fun.
- 37:43Speaker 2: So they're just boy when it comes to other weather phenomena,
- 37:46Speaker 2: Floods are the streams, yes.
- 37:48Speaker 5: Yes, which we forget, and then every once in while
- 37:50Speaker 5: it's like, wait.
- 37:51Speaker 1: What oh a flood? Well, floods are the streamings because
- 37:53Speaker 1: they only ever happen after. You never can predict a
- 37:56Speaker 1: flood happening, you know, And so when the streamings are over,
- 37:58Speaker 1: you kind of go, what the hell was all of that?
- 38:00Speaker 1: And why did everyone who most people cared about it
- 38:03Speaker 1: before it began?
- 38:04Speaker 3: Oh?
- 38:05Speaker 1: Should I be caring about that? That's always a fluod?
- 38:07Speaker 1: Should I be caring about that mass the streamings? Yeah?
- 38:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd call overcast clouds the Golden globes because they
- 38:13Speaker 3: are a corrupt and evil weather batter.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Yeah, overcast don't hack up, you hack up your food.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Now, I'm sorry, I ate a bunch of sandwiches before
- 38:25Speaker 3: a bunch.
- 38:26Speaker 4: Oh, that's a weather man's breakfast, A bunch of sand
- 38:28Speaker 4: like a banana bunch of.
- 38:32Speaker 3: On a banana bunch. You ever heard that old you've
- 38:35Speaker 3: never gotten a banana bunch from Mendosino Farms banana. It's
- 38:39Speaker 3: really creative. They do a bunch of four inch sandwiches
- 38:42Speaker 3: on a banana bunch. It's really creative with the.
- 38:45Speaker 5: Did you have you heard that old adage, what's in
- 38:48Speaker 5: a weather man's lunchbox?
- 38:50Speaker 1: A bunch of sandwiches.
- 38:53Speaker 5: And a cloud?
- 38:56Speaker 1: Well that's actually commandment number seven, what's in a bunch
- 39:02Speaker 1: of What's in a weather man's lunch box? A bunch
- 39:06Speaker 1: of sandwiches? Big.
- 39:09Speaker 3: It's interesting because we have proverbs and we have thou shaltz,
- 39:12Speaker 3: and then we have sort of observational comedy. Did you
- 39:15Speaker 3: ever hear the one about?
- 39:22Speaker 1: Well? Wow? Well, can I ask you guys a personal question? Well,
- 39:25Speaker 1: what do you think is the hardest day that did
- 39:28Speaker 1: you've had on the weather?
- 39:29Speaker 5: One day?
- 39:30Speaker 1: I can jump in, Uh okay, I'm sure you guys
- 39:32Speaker 1: remember this. I was supposed to be giving the weather
- 39:37Speaker 1: and I said it looks pretty good. Besides, uh, Toronto,
- 39:43Speaker 1: so stay indoors and have a good time. I thought
- 39:47Speaker 1: it said Toronto, it said tornado, and the tornado ripped
- 39:50Speaker 1: through the town.
- 39:51Speaker 3: And I hate when the when the doppler says pretty
- 39:54Speaker 3: could except tornado, it's the worst.
- 39:57Speaker 1: I wish they clarified that all that they kind of
- 40:00Speaker 1: do this bit where it's pretty good except a tornado,
- 40:04Speaker 1: that's always read it as Toronto.
- 40:05Speaker 5: It's a mistake. Mistakes suck.
- 40:07Speaker 2: I mean once, sorry, no, go ahead, I want to
- 40:09Speaker 2: hear what you think about how mistakes suck.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Go ahead. Do you sounds like you know? Did you
- 40:15Speaker 1: mess up? I'm sorry, let's hear it. I want to
- 40:18Speaker 1: hear your mistake.
- 40:20Speaker 5: Oh well, it's okay, thank you.
- 40:22Speaker 2: You know.
- 40:23Speaker 5: I hate when we mess up. It sucks. It sucks.
- 40:26Speaker 1: It sucks so much.
- 40:27Speaker 4: But actually it was a little prank by my team.
- 40:30Speaker 4: It was my birthday and they replaced the the what
- 40:34Speaker 4: do you call it? The when I read the words.
- 40:36Speaker 1: Off of the things.
- 40:37Speaker 4: They replaced the teleprompter with a karaoke machine, and I
- 40:41Speaker 4: was reading the lyrics to Mariah Care's All I Want
- 40:45Speaker 4: for Christmas is You Like it was a forecast.
- 40:48Speaker 1: That's really tough. It was.
- 40:50Speaker 5: I didn't hear it.
- 40:51Speaker 1: Actually, let's throw.
- 40:56Speaker 5: And today we have. I don't want a lot for Christmas.
- 41:02Speaker 5: There is just one thing I need here at the tip.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Yeah, you realize it pretty quick.
- 41:11Speaker 3: You know what to do.
- 41:12Speaker 5: There's humilia.
- 41:13Speaker 1: I can't believe they spelled the letters out A.
- 41:15Speaker 5: Yeah, well that's how the karaoke machines do it. But
- 41:17Speaker 5: what's your mistake that sucks your day?
- 41:18Speaker 1: That sucks?
- 41:19Speaker 7: Well?
- 41:19Speaker 2: I had a really rough day. This was young in
- 41:21Speaker 2: my career. I unfortunately accepted payola from a local sled
- 41:25Speaker 2: company to say that that was going to snow.
- 41:27Speaker 1: You don't don't want to do. They wanted to be
- 41:29Speaker 1: getting into the real interview. I was in bad.
- 41:32Speaker 2: I was I was going through some really terrible, terrible stuff.
- 41:35Speaker 2: I was going through divorce at the time, and uh
- 41:37Speaker 2: I not only that, but was just really not feeling
- 41:42Speaker 2: good about myself. I low self esteem.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Cloud. He said, hey, worst sled.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Company will give you fifty thousand dollars if you help
- 41:48Speaker 2: us sell sleds this weekend. It was June and Albuquerque,
- 41:52Speaker 2: and I said, crazy, crazy snowstorm coming, Hurry, hurry, hurry.
- 41:56Speaker 1: If you live by a hill. You need a big sled.
- 41:58Speaker 5: You sure those weren't lyrics too.
- 42:01Speaker 1: I don't practice sanchuria. I ain't got no crystal ball. Okay,
- 42:05Speaker 1: good no, yeah, okay.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Lyrics no, okay, good I heard okay, good.
- 42:10Speaker 1: No, yeah, I heard about this. That was I got
- 42:14Speaker 1: Tartan feathered in the towns? You did they did? Yeah? Yeah,
- 42:17Speaker 1: a more modern version, which was just hot glue and milk.
- 42:22Speaker 3: But hot glue and milk on me in the that
- 42:25Speaker 3: the milk sticks to the super clue.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Crazy. They don't tell you that, I heard behind the
- 42:31Speaker 1: super glue box. Well, it's just something that doesn't come
- 42:34Speaker 1: up a lot, but they should tell you.
- 42:36Speaker 3: We're asking them a lot to put on the box.
- 42:39Speaker 3: There's already there's a stick.
- 42:42Speaker 1: To the glue. So is that going on the milk
- 42:45Speaker 1: box or the glue box both?
- 42:49Speaker 3: Well, I can tell you about a mistake I made.
- 42:51Speaker 3: I was, you know, my This was back in the
- 42:55Speaker 3: nineties and I was, you know, I was getting my
- 42:57Speaker 3: starret in San Jose. I was doing the weather and
- 42:59Speaker 3: everything was going pret well. I had I had a
- 43:01Speaker 3: pretty established reputation then and my brother was going through
- 43:04Speaker 3: a hard time and uh, he lost his job you know.
- 43:08Speaker 3: He uh, he ended a relationship. He was in a
- 43:11Speaker 3: tough spot, and so I thought, you know what what
- 43:14Speaker 3: if I throw him the bone? What if I do
- 43:16Speaker 3: the forecast with him? And uh, so I brought my
- 43:19Speaker 3: brother to work and the station wasn't happy with.
- 43:23Speaker 5: This beer with your brother who's down, you know, And
- 43:27Speaker 5: to be honest.
- 43:28Speaker 3: I don't I don't drink too much, So I don't
- 43:30Speaker 3: really know how to relate to him in a different
- 43:31Speaker 3: in another way, and so, uh, it's difficult. And so
- 43:35Speaker 3: I I I grabbed him. I I said, come on
- 43:37Speaker 3: down to the station. No, Ronnie, come down to the station.
- 43:40Speaker 3: And so, uh he got on TV and he absolutely
- 43:43Speaker 3: did not know what to do.
- 43:44Speaker 1: He he threw up, and it was they had brought
- 43:48Speaker 1: that out, didn't he?
- 43:49Speaker 3: Yeah, well he threw up. And then the worst part
- 43:52Speaker 3: was that he brought the gun out.
- 43:59Speaker 5: And the worst Yeah, and so.
- 44:01Speaker 3: I had to I had to buy the station manager
- 44:03Speaker 3: quite a few drinks to make up for it.
- 44:05Speaker 1: At least you did. That is that is you know.
- 44:07Speaker 2: I don't want to get politically here, but that's one
- 44:08Speaker 2: of my biggest things about changing the gun laws.
- 44:11Speaker 1: We need to.
- 44:12Speaker 2: I don't care about background checks I need to know,
- 44:15Speaker 2: are you gonna get weird with this gun after you
- 44:17Speaker 2: throw up?
- 44:20Speaker 1: Are you gonna pull it out?
- 44:21Speaker 3: As sort of an instinctual response, because oh shit, I
- 44:24Speaker 3: threw up.
- 44:27Speaker 1: I remember the slip. It did feel like he pulled
- 44:29Speaker 1: it out of embarrassment. He pulled it out of all up.
- 44:33Speaker 5: You know what I mean. And we have to be
- 44:34Speaker 5: careful who has access to a gun after bar threw up.
- 44:41Speaker 1: It's fight or flight kicks.
- 44:43Speaker 3: And it wasn't loaded. He wasn't that kind of guy.
- 44:46Speaker 3: It's just sort of a thing he carries around and
- 44:48Speaker 3: feel safe, of course.
- 44:49Speaker 4: But you know what you were talking about the newscasters, right,
- 44:51Speaker 4: and we are the weather people. And I think, listen,
- 44:55Speaker 4: it's towards the end of the interview, and I think
- 44:57Speaker 4: we should get we should get real for a minute.
- 44:59Speaker 5: We're talking about gun laws, constrictions.
- 45:01Speaker 1: Everything I've said is basically what I say in press release.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Let's get real.
- 45:05Speaker 4: Now you can find all what we said on the internet, right,
- 45:08Speaker 4: but let's get real because I want to say those newscasters,
- 45:11Speaker 4: the contracts are different.
- 45:13Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, and you don't know that the contracts are different.
- 45:17Speaker 3: Okay, this just in the contracts are different.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, see we can do their job. We could
- 45:24Speaker 1: do their job in pay the weathermend the same.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Okay, well no, I wouldn't say that because we get
- 45:30Speaker 2: paid way more. Right, we are different, and that we
- 45:34Speaker 2: get paid more.
- 45:34Speaker 1: We get paid so much.
- 45:36Speaker 3: More, but we.
- 45:38Speaker 5: Have a much bigger morality.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Clause exactly, absolutely, because clauses we get paid more, but
- 45:45Speaker 1: we get to do less.
- 45:46Speaker 5: The contracts are different.
- 45:48Speaker 3: We basically we have to have the sexuality of apple juice. Essentially,
- 45:53Speaker 3: we gotta keep it.
- 45:54Speaker 1: All drinkable but for kids. But put it.
- 46:10Speaker 3: So we you know, can you sign these things because
- 46:13Speaker 3: you want to chop?
- 46:14Speaker 5: Of course?
- 46:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Absolutely. The sexuality that if a kid sees you on
- 46:19Speaker 1: screen they have a crush.
- 46:20Speaker 3: On you, you know exactly, it's it's it's it's it's
- 46:23Speaker 3: so you don't upset the kids. This means no gyrating
- 46:28Speaker 3: at the bar or anything, no doing anything.
- 46:31Speaker 1: I'm getting a phone call. Oh this is crazy. There's
- 46:38Speaker 1: a sandstorm hitting Cincinnati. No way, no way?
- 46:41Speaker 5: Who told you that on the phone.
- 46:43Speaker 1: I don't know. My phone doesn't save any numbers.
- 46:48Speaker 3: How do you work with that?
- 46:50Speaker 1: That's the phone you're using. I don't up date my
- 46:53Speaker 1: phone always wants me to. I like playing. There's a sandstorm,
- 46:58Speaker 1: sandstorm Cincinnati, So how you happens?
- 47:00Speaker 2: I know?
- 47:01Speaker 1: So we we cover report it. We didn't even start
- 47:04Speaker 1: about global warming. How much it's fucked with our jobs.
- 47:06Speaker 1: We should talk about let's talk about let's get into
- 47:08Speaker 1: the I hate it, but I love it because it's interesting. Yeah, well,
- 47:11Speaker 1: if we can sum it up, we can.
- 47:13Speaker 4: Hate it, but also at work, hate it, love it
- 47:17Speaker 4: keeps me on a job, don't given.
- 47:20Speaker 3: Yeah, that about sums it up.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 47:25Speaker 5: Let's let's let's report this.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Okay, let's let's report this.
- 47:28Speaker 3: So this is so funny. I've never done this in
- 47:29Speaker 3: a team before.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Let's do one report.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Well, we got some sand coming to Cincinnati this week,
- 47:36Speaker 2: and I'm gonna throw over to my buddy York.
- 47:39Speaker 5: Oh yeah, it looks like it is coming in.
- 47:41Speaker 4: It is coming into the is my my, Yeah, I'm
- 47:45Speaker 4: passing it on to my buddy over there Memphis, is my.
- 47:49Speaker 1: Well, yeah, your mic is on. We have a sand
- 47:51Speaker 1: storm in Cincinnati. There is sand coming from the south,
- 47:54Speaker 1: the east, and the west. So if you're in Cincinnati,
- 47:58Speaker 1: I'm gonna throw it over to my friend Sarah for Seattle. Seattle.
- 48:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna throw it over to my friend Seattle to
- 48:05Speaker 1: do what you need to do in this this sandstorm.
