- 0:00Speaker 1: The popcorn moment. Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go.
- 0:03Speaker 2: The story you need to hear to believe. Then grab
- 0:05Speaker 2: your popcorn, because there is more. I've got two for
- 0:09Speaker 2: for you. We got a light in the mood, and
- 0:11Speaker 2: then I'm gonna play for you some insanity.
- 0:14Speaker 1: The first.
- 0:16Speaker 2: The first, of course, because how can one go a
- 0:20Speaker 2: week without hearing from the one and only, the very
- 0:26Speaker 2: very special Kamala Harris. I'm gonna get hate mail. And
- 0:36Speaker 2: that's just from Micaeh Beck with.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Kamala Harris.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Making the most surreal claim we have heard.
- 0:45Speaker 1: In a while. I don't think there's any cursing in this.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Producer Kurt, producer Kurt, who's in for producer Kylon, who's
- 0:51Speaker 2: in for producer Carl, who's on assignment.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Finger on the dumb button them. She's doing an interview.
- 0:57Speaker 2: She's trying to sell her book, and she wants you
- 1:02Speaker 2: to know that is decent.
- 1:04Speaker 1: But that is a decent resume. But go ahead there.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Well, some people have actually said I was the most
- 1:11Speaker 2: qualified candidate ever to run for president.
- 1:17Speaker 1: She said that.
- 1:19Speaker 2: This was a conversation about running for president, about how
- 1:23Speaker 2: she got she was the closest election and was asked
- 1:28Speaker 2: about you know whether the the only having one hundred
- 1:33Speaker 2: and seven days, did that affect your ability to connect
- 1:37Speaker 2: with voters? And she says, well, I've always been a woman,
- 1:44Speaker 2: I swear to you, she said this, and a woman
- 1:47Speaker 2: of color, so that kind of is But it's the time.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I think that's one of the biggest things. And then said,
- 1:58Speaker 2: what you just heard.
- 2:00Speaker 1: And decent, but it is a decent resume, But go
- 2:02Speaker 1: ahead there.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Well, some people have actually said I was the most
- 2:08Speaker 2: qualified candidate ever to run for president. No one ever
- 2:13Speaker 2: said that. No one ever said she was qualified. No
- 2:18Speaker 2: one has ever said it. So that's the insane. Now
- 2:22Speaker 2: I want to share with you something that's going to
- 2:26Speaker 2: take your breath away. We if you're with us on
- 2:31Speaker 2: Tony Kats today. Yesterday we actually listened to the Supreme
- 2:34Speaker 2: Court hearing regarding Louisiana and the idea of creating congressional
- 2:39Speaker 2: districts based on race.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Louisiana wants to do this.
- 2:45Speaker 2: So this is about redistricting and whether you can create
- 2:47Speaker 2: a district that has mostly black citizens and somehow that's
- 2:52Speaker 2: all right, very weird.
- 2:58Speaker 1: It was Katanji Brown.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Who tried to make the claim that people who are
- 3:05Speaker 2: black are unable to get to the polls and unable
- 3:10Speaker 2: to be represented.
- 3:11Speaker 1: And I share with you what a Supreme Court justice
- 3:14Speaker 1: had to say.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I guess I'm thinking of it of the fact that
- 3:19Speaker 3: remedial action absent discriminatory intent is really not a new
- 3:24Speaker 3: idea in the civil rights laws. And my kind of
- 3:29Speaker 3: paradigmatic example of this is something like the Ada Congress
- 3:34Speaker 3: passed the Americans with Disabilities Act against the backdrop of
- 3:39Speaker 3: a world that was generally not accessible to people with disabilities,
- 3:44Speaker 3: and so it was discriminatory in effect because these folks
- 3:48Speaker 3: were not able to access these buildings, and it didn't
- 3:52Speaker 3: matter whether the person who built the building or the
- 3:56Speaker 3: person who owned the building intended for them to be exclusionary.
- 4:01Speaker 3: That's irrelevant. Congress said, the facilities have to be made
- 4:05Speaker 3: equally open to people with disabilities, if readily possible. I
- 4:11Speaker 3: guess I don't understand why that's not what's happening here.
- 4:14Speaker 3: The idea in section two is that we are responding
- 4:19Speaker 3: to current day manifestations of past and present decisions that
- 4:25Speaker 3: disadvantage minorities and make it so that they don't have
- 4:28Speaker 3: equal access to the voting system. Right they're disabled. In fact,
- 4:35Speaker 3: we use the word disabled in Milligan.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Supreme Court Justice Katanji Brown Jackson is saying that people
- 4:43Speaker 2: who are black are disabled. She made the argument. I'm
- 4:50Speaker 2: telling you the call for her impeachment is going to grow.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I'm the first person I agree it's going to grow.
