- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to Inside the Bus. This is the Christmas episode,
- 0:03Speaker 1: Episode thirty. Steph Curry, Todd Gurley.
- 0:08Speaker 2: You say King Geoffy Junior, King Griffy or senior or junior?
- 0:12Speaker 1: Uh Price, I think senior.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Yeah, dang what Jalen Warren, Derek Seth Curry, Julius Randall, Dang, thirty.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Is such a goofy sports number. Now I'm trying to
- 0:27Speaker 3: think of another running backs that were number thirty, Like why,
- 0:30Speaker 3: there's a lot of basketball players that were at thirty.
- 0:34Speaker 4: Curry Dell.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Okay, so it's a cry. It's a family fair, the
- 0:38Speaker 2: family thing.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Sam Houser, who is that?
- 0:41Speaker 3: Howser? What are we talking about today? We got Cooke,
- 0:48Speaker 3: we got on the docket, Nolan Ryan, Yeah, forty.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Not for the Rangers though, so it don't matter, it
- 0:55Speaker 1: don't count.
- 0:55Speaker 4: King Griffy Junior was thirty on the Reds, That's what
- 0:58Speaker 4: it was. Herolda Davis.
- 1:02Speaker 3: I forgot about Torrell Davis.
- 1:03Speaker 2: The fact that King Griffy Junior and his dad got
- 1:06Speaker 2: to play in the league together on the same team
- 1:09Speaker 2: is so insane. Yeah, to this day it will it
- 1:12Speaker 2: will always be the probably the coolest sports.
- 1:16Speaker 3: That's a better moment, that's better than Lebron and Brownie debatable.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Debatable, Yeah, because Junior Griffy was good.
- 1:24Speaker 5: Whoa dude, whoa no Bronni slander on this?
- 1:28Speaker 4: We love.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Have Bronnie on.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Dude, you still think Luka Doncic is better than Cooper Flag.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I still do think that.
- 1:35Speaker 6: I'm right.
- 1:36Speaker 4: I don't think I didn't see Luka Doncic break Lebron's record.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Back.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I can't get into this. R Welcome back, miss Luca.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Rashid Wallace also number thirty one of my way hated
- 1:50Speaker 4: NBA players of all time Wallace. I hated him.
- 1:53Speaker 3: I weirdly used to love Ben Wallace.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Loved Ben Wallace, hated Rashid Wallace. Some question they related, No, nope,
- 2:02Speaker 4: one's cool ones now they're both on the Pistons. Hated
- 2:05Speaker 4: that Pistons team.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Really, I thought they were kind of cool.
- 2:07Speaker 4: I think I actually just hated Rashida.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Rip was on there.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Fun fact, Rip Hamilton is actually from reading PA. Really.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Oh love Rip Hamilton reading Rip.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Henriklud Quiz, that's who Henrik lud Quiz.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Seth Curry was goalie.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, no, I know who he is.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Awesome guitar player too, magleo six.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. All I know is my one
- 2:33Speaker 2: and true goalie, which is the brick wall Pepcerine thirty five?
- 2:39Speaker 3: I thought it was That's my bad. I was thinking
- 2:42Speaker 3: of that guy one day.
- 2:44Speaker 4: We're going to have to figure out the best number.
- 2:47Speaker 3: But I feel like the best sports numbers. We got
- 2:49Speaker 3: so many numbers to go, I know, but which we
- 2:52Speaker 3: were doing this to? One and three?
- 2:54Speaker 4: I know, like I wonder which number has the most
- 2:57Speaker 4: Hall of famers mmmm, across all all sports.
- 3:00Speaker 2: We probably should do an episode like a trivia episode
- 3:03Speaker 2: sports trivia episode.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Definitely one episode one so far away?
- 3:09Speaker 4: Not if we start doing four a week.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Dang, a live show. We should just do a live show,
- 3:13Speaker 3: daily show?
- 3:14Speaker 4: True?
- 3:14Speaker 3: Should we? Are we going to be opening up for Jared?
- 3:18Speaker 3: Are we? I heard you might be five minutes saying
- 3:22Speaker 3: you're singing I not want me to open up for
- 3:25Speaker 3: Jared because everybody I would be extremely me saying I
- 3:29Speaker 3: don't want you is gonna make everybody.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Like none have to Where did this idea even come from?
- 3:33Speaker 2: I don't know, But let you just like put yourself
- 3:36Speaker 2: in the spot. Yeah, it would suck right now, I mean,
- 3:40Speaker 2: because what would be your opening joke.
- 3:44Speaker 3: How about that airline food? How about it?
- 3:47Speaker 5: Tomato tomato, tomato?
- 3:51Speaker 3: Have one?
- 3:53Speaker 2: What's that tomatoes? What's the airplace?
- 3:56Speaker 3: Peas and episode time? How about airline food? All right,
- 4:01Speaker 3: and it's slapped. I mean everybody was laughing. Play the hits.
- 4:08Speaker 4: But yeah, I think what Gary was saying to you
- 4:09Speaker 4: could sing. You got Carolyn coming up, your self proclaimed
- 4:13Speaker 4: great singer.
- 4:13Speaker 3: We heard, Yeah, I mean still do you have Carolyn?
- 4:20Speaker 3: This this uh this weekend? Definitely, we'll have the pipes
- 4:23Speaker 3: all warmed up, looking forward to it. This is the
- 4:27Speaker 3: first year that Dietrich is not like my Dietrich is
- 4:31Speaker 3: not like the overseer and plainer of it all. It
- 4:35Speaker 3: is his younger brother, Adam past the torch. He's now
- 4:38Speaker 3: a state trooper, which is awesome.
- 4:41Speaker 5: You like drink and drive and you bego go that far,
- 4:47Speaker 5: but like, don't rat, don't screw him over.
- 4:50Speaker 3: I'm not gonna say I'm not going to say nothing.
- 4:52Speaker 5: Okay, say something.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Would be like a little drunken drive. No, but yeah,
- 4:59Speaker 3: we we like have I have no clue what's going on,
- 5:01Speaker 3: just because dietrichs not hasn't been the one planning it.
- 5:04Speaker 3: It's him. It's Adam and one of Dietrich's buddy Ryan,
- 5:07Speaker 3: who I'm really good friends with as well. But yeah,
- 5:09Speaker 3: we're looking forward to it. Will is going to be.
- 5:13Speaker 2: In New York and will not be there.
- 5:17Speaker 3: But I will give shoot him a text to be
- 5:19Speaker 3: like for the listener.
- 5:21Speaker 2: For the listener, give a quick background to explain what
- 5:24Speaker 2: Carolyn is.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Yeah, so Caroling, it's uh, it's been going on for
- 5:28Speaker 3: I think this is our seventh or eighth year a decade. Yeah,
- 5:33Speaker 3: it's been a minute, like at least my seventh or
- 5:35Speaker 3: eighth year doing it, but I guess apparently it was
- 5:37Speaker 3: going on for a couple of years beforehand. But well,
- 5:40Speaker 3: it's all of my buddies from college, and then uh,
- 5:44Speaker 3: Dietrich's like hometown friends. He's from Hawthorne, New Jersey, and yeah,
- 5:50Speaker 3: we literally just go. He's he's like in like a
- 5:52Speaker 3: small little community where it's just like blocks of houses
- 5:55Speaker 3: and then there's like a bar at the end of
- 5:57Speaker 3: the street. So the last three or four years you
- 6:00Speaker 3: ran out the back of the bar for three or
- 6:04Speaker 3: four hours and it's like open drink, open food. And
- 6:07Speaker 3: then we have a wagon full of like whether it's
- 6:10Speaker 3: jungle juice or beer, like a keg? Yeah, what do
- 6:15Speaker 3: you go to? The beer? The jungle juice? Probably the beer,
- 6:20Speaker 3: because jungle juice. We all we've all been there. Yeah,
- 6:24Speaker 3: the jungle juice.
- 6:26Speaker 4: It's like uh PJ, you know, PJ.
- 6:29Speaker 5: It's just it's like cheap liquor mixed with like any
- 6:33Speaker 5: kind of.
- 6:33Speaker 3: It's like fruit juice. It's juices with like an absurd
- 6:37Speaker 3: amount of alcohol in it. And its like like in.
- 6:38Speaker 2: The movies when they just make the worst looking drink
- 6:41Speaker 2: of a long time. Yeah, and then in the movie
- 6:44Speaker 2: everyone goes nuts.
- 6:45Speaker 3: What do you call that?
- 6:46Speaker 1: I didn't even know how to name.
- 6:48Speaker 2: That's called Saturday Night.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Yeah, but pre game. Yeah, so we're we there's I mean,
- 6:53Speaker 3: it has grown exponentially. The first year we did, I
- 6:56Speaker 3: think there was like ten to fifteen people and it
- 7:00Speaker 3: was just at Dietrich's house because we weren't twenty one yet.
- 7:03Speaker 3: And then each year it's gone. It went from like
- 7:04Speaker 3: then to twenty and then thirty, and then last year
- 7:07Speaker 3: I think we had over one hundred people at the
- 7:10Speaker 3: whole choir. It's it's insane and it's an absolute shit show.
- 7:13Speaker 3: But last year kind of was.
- 7:15Speaker 2: It just like everyone and then like now they're little
- 7:17Speaker 2: brothers and like how are you collecting new people?
- 7:21Speaker 3: It's also it's like now that Adam is of age,
- 7:24Speaker 3: like he has all of his college buddies come in
- 7:27Speaker 3: and then like their significant others and whatnot, and then
- 7:30Speaker 3: uh is Brooke going, yeah, Brook, this will be Brooks
- 7:32Speaker 3: second year. Like we all have our significant others and
- 7:37Speaker 3: like then it's all like like their hometown friends and
- 7:41Speaker 3: some of their coaches and then their kids and stuff
- 7:43Speaker 3: like that. But yeah, last year was just so so cold,
- 7:47Speaker 3: and I think it was like ten to fifteen degrees
- 7:48Speaker 3: outside that we were We were literally, I think caroling
- 7:51Speaker 3: for thirty to forty five minutes. What's the group's best song?
- 7:56Speaker 3: Probably deck the Halls? Can you give us a little? Well,
- 7:59Speaker 3: I mean I'm not in the mode. Can we get
- 8:01Speaker 3: a little yeah sing? No, But it's like it's it's
- 8:04Speaker 3: better because we're all like we're all drunk, and it's.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Just also when y'all go up to the door, break
- 8:10Speaker 4: it down, Like I've never been carolling in neighborhoods. Yeah,
- 8:13Speaker 4: you literally just knock they open, you start singing, or
- 8:15Speaker 4: do you like you mind if we play a few
- 8:17Speaker 4: songs for you guys.
- 8:17Speaker 3: So yeah, so it's exactly you're going to be. Typically
- 8:22Speaker 3: you have a designated knocker. I have been that once
- 8:25Speaker 3: or twice. Uh, you go up there and be like,
- 8:27Speaker 3: you knock on the door, you kind of wait if
- 8:29Speaker 3: the lights are if they don't geez, if there's no
- 8:32Speaker 3: lights on, you don't go up to that house because
- 8:34Speaker 3: they're like they don't want to be bothered. But if
- 8:35Speaker 3: you see a light on in the living room, knock
- 8:37Speaker 3: on the door respectful. They come out and like normally
- 8:41Speaker 3: and then they just open up and it's like oh
- 8:43Speaker 3: ship deck, yeah, and then you as soon as the
- 8:48Speaker 3: door opens.
- 8:48Speaker 2: It's not what's the first song? What's the first song?
- 8:53Speaker 3: First song? Like the first song at the first house
- 8:57Speaker 3: is I think it's typically either jingle bells or Frost
- 9:00Speaker 3: to the snow Man play the hits. And then the
- 9:03Speaker 3: longer we go that, I feel like the more the
- 9:06Speaker 3: more ballsy we get with some of our songs where
- 9:08Speaker 3: it's like not everybody knows the words. However, we do
- 9:12Speaker 3: have packets of lyrics and you just get around, so
- 9:16Speaker 3: like we won't have packets for it, we won't have
- 9:18Speaker 3: a hundred packets, but like we'll have one like the
- 9:20Speaker 3: five of us will just get around yep and choir.
- 9:23Speaker 3: It's it is something that I look forward to you
- 9:26Speaker 3: every single year because one, it's awesome, like you're just
- 9:30Speaker 3: spreading Christmas chyre for all to hear. But also but
- 9:35Speaker 3: also you just like you're just with your buddies that
- 9:37Speaker 3: you don't you see once or twice a year and
- 9:39Speaker 3: you catch you up. And like I think last year,
- 9:42Speaker 3: for the thirty to forty five minutes we were outside,
- 9:44Speaker 3: I ended up talking to somebody that I don't even
- 9:46Speaker 3: think I really knew, but you know, like juices are flowing,
- 9:50Speaker 3: You're just like, what's going on? Brother? They're nice to
- 9:52Speaker 3: see you get tipsy?
- 9:53Speaker 1: Are anyone ever?
- 9:55Speaker 3: Just we don't accept tips because it's all for the
- 9:57Speaker 3: love of the game. You gotta pay for the bar tab,
- 10:01Speaker 3: so yes, but like it's like seventy five eighty dollars
- 10:04Speaker 3: to go to rent out the back of the bar
- 10:07Speaker 3: and then we get like we buy keg with that
- 10:08Speaker 3: extra money and then that's where.
- 10:11Speaker 1: So people try to tip, y'all.
- 10:13Speaker 3: I feel like we have at least once or twice,
- 10:16Speaker 3: but we're like maybe thrice. Yeah, but it's all it's
- 10:19Speaker 3: all fun and it's all fun and like what's funny
- 10:23Speaker 3: is like Chris Dietrich's dad is like buddies with like
- 10:26Speaker 3: the some of the police department, Like, hey, this is
- 10:29Speaker 3: what's going on tonight.
- 10:30Speaker 5: They're going to be driving.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Like if you if you hear stuff like that, it's
- 10:36Speaker 3: just us. But then I feel like we kind of
- 10:38Speaker 3: like low key have a curfew kind of thing in
- 10:40Speaker 3: the sense of like orderance. Yeah, eventually they'll come up like, hey.
- 10:44Speaker 5: Guys, yeah, be like seven to nine almost give a
- 10:48Speaker 5: little range.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Yeah, and then they're like time to head back. Time
- 10:53Speaker 3: to head back to the to the bar, because I
- 10:55Speaker 3: mean a hundred drunk people just walking around it's never
- 10:57Speaker 3: un is crazy, but.
- 10:59Speaker 4: Like would be won't have it this year, but Carolyn
- 11:01Speaker 4: would be a sweet place to propose. It would get
- 11:05Speaker 4: everybody singing, it would that is a great idea. Everybody's
- 11:10Speaker 4: already there.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Yeah, but yeah it's last year. We had somebody get
- 11:16Speaker 3: picked up by a cop. She was just banging on
- 11:20Speaker 3: everybody's I need to get home. She was hammered. No,
- 11:25Speaker 3: she was like we it starts as we started Dietrich's
- 11:29Speaker 3: house and we u No. Last year is the Penn
- 11:33Speaker 3: State SMU game was like the early slate game. So
- 11:35Speaker 3: we got there and like every year, you would just
- 11:38Speaker 3: start with a bottle of Rumplemans and you're just passing
- 11:42Speaker 3: it around and no majority of the people meet us
- 11:48Speaker 3: at the bar.
- 11:49Speaker 5: Oh, this is this is the pre before the pre Yes.
- 11:52Speaker 3: This is this is the at Dietrich's house kind of
- 11:55Speaker 3: all like you're catching up all like the main college
- 11:58Speaker 3: buddies are coming over saying what's up to the fans
- 12:00Speaker 3: and whatnot. But it is the most fun every This
- 12:04Speaker 3: is my this will be my third year doing it here,
- 12:07Speaker 3: third or fourth year doing it while I'm here every
- 12:10Speaker 3: year d Trich is like, we need the boys to come,
- 12:12Speaker 3: We need the boys to come. So and it has
- 12:15Speaker 3: been an open invite, but I think there needs to
- 12:18Speaker 3: be a year where the fellas need to come out.
- 12:22Speaker 2: And this isistically this falls when when this is Saturday
- 12:27Speaker 2: December twentieth?
- 12:30Speaker 3: Is that what the date is? Yees, Saturday? It's December twentieth,
- 12:33Speaker 3: I understand logistically.
- 12:35Speaker 2: And where is it?
- 12:37Speaker 3: It's in New Jersey, Northern New Jersey.
- 12:40Speaker 4: Because like we so people are like being coop. We
- 12:43Speaker 4: would have to fly to New Jersey go do it
- 12:47Speaker 4: for the weekend, fly back here, and then go home
- 12:50Speaker 4: for the holidays.
- 12:52Speaker 3: So my thought process is I have the solution because
- 12:56Speaker 3: next year, what is Christmas going to be on a
- 12:59Speaker 3: Thursday or Friday? It's a good question. Thursday this year,
- 13:02Speaker 3: so so it'll be Friday next year.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I don't know if that works, but I have no
- 13:07Speaker 2: idea if that's how that works.
- 13:08Speaker 5: Like if it is on a Friday, let us know
- 13:09Speaker 5: in the comments it is on a Friday.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Next year, somebody find that. I feel like, next.
- 13:14Speaker 5: Day, there's JP's birthday on a Friday next year, Oh
- 13:18Speaker 5: dang day.
- 13:21Speaker 4: I appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Next year it'll be on a Friday. So I'm assuming
- 13:27Speaker 3: we would have like that we would have to go
- 13:30Speaker 3: home that Wednesday where we would get to go home
- 13:32Speaker 3: and have off for work. So I'm thinking next year
- 13:34Speaker 3: I would fly up to Jersey, have d Trich pick
- 13:38Speaker 3: me up or somebody picked me up, and then do
- 13:40Speaker 3: it and then fly home Sunday. The next year is
- 13:42Speaker 3: the year, is what you're saying. If there if there's
- 13:45Speaker 3: a year, there's a year, next year would be the year.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Inside the bus vlog, I feel like it would be
- 13:53Speaker 3: incredible I.
- 13:54Speaker 5: Think a good way to get us involved is you
- 13:57Speaker 5: got to put something on paper. This year, we need
- 14:00Speaker 5: some videos.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, that's like I want to bring up
- 14:03Speaker 3: my camera to like vlog it and whatnot.
- 14:07Speaker 5: I mean, you've got to bring your big camera. You
- 14:08Speaker 5: can just go horizontal with the phone. Just give us
- 14:11Speaker 5: a taste.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Right now, it is all talk.
- 14:15Speaker 4: We've never seen anything.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Let's zoom in and have we ever actually seen one thing?
- 14:19Speaker 3: We don't know if he really got I mean, I
- 14:22Speaker 3: got the video. Can you just sing really quick? Deck
- 14:26Speaker 3: the Hosman? I forget see I don't that sounded good though.
- 14:34Speaker 3: That's what the that's what the lyrics are.
- 14:35Speaker 5: Fortis the season too. After that, I would accept not
- 14:40Speaker 5: knowing the lyrics, but you got to at least know
- 14:41Speaker 5: that second.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't know if it was like this is
- 14:44Speaker 2: just yeah, mitche's it's so hard at the beginning and
- 14:46Speaker 2: then falls back.
- 14:49Speaker 3: But like the knocker is typically the maestro, like dude
- 14:54Speaker 3: the composer. Yeah, but it is the most fun. You
- 15:00Speaker 3: gotta see believe it. Next year, if I so let
- 15:03Speaker 3: me put this out there, if I make a mini
- 15:06Speaker 3: vlog of it.
- 15:08Speaker 5: We're not even expecting like a full on production, but
- 15:10Speaker 5: we would like to see at least a few stops.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Four a minute log would go hard on the phone.
- 15:15Speaker 5: That would be it would be great for our channel,
- 15:17Speaker 5: and we see the pre before the pre the bar,
- 15:20Speaker 5: you know, maybe an interview with like a couple of
- 15:22Speaker 5: random guys, an interview with Dietrich's little brother, Andy Trick.
- 15:25Speaker 5: How's the you know, passing of the torch going? And
- 15:29Speaker 5: then maybe I feel like there's probably got to be
- 15:30Speaker 5: a straggler at some point during the night, if you
- 15:32Speaker 5: guys are drinking pretty hard, get you know, up close
- 15:35Speaker 5: and personal with him, maybe throwing up some fun something.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Maybe maybe when you are driving around.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I'm gonna h Are you guys taking the
- 15:47Speaker 3: the phone mics this weekend?
- 15:50Speaker 5: I don't think so, probably not.
- 15:52Speaker 3: I might bring those with me and then we'll well,
- 15:55Speaker 3: I promise you guys there will be some content. Let's
- 15:57Speaker 3: go from this.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Because it is cool when when you do talk about it,
- 16:01Speaker 4: it's cool, like it's the biggest Christmas tradition of all
- 16:05Speaker 4: of my friends that I have ever heard of. Hundreds
- 16:07Speaker 4: people showing up to do caroling. It does sound like
- 16:10Speaker 4: a something you'd see in a movie.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Yeah, so it is.
- 16:14Speaker 4: It is all love to the caroling.
- 16:15Speaker 3: It is really so much fun, and I'm like, I
- 16:17Speaker 3: look forward to it every year. I mean, I start
- 16:19Speaker 3: talking about it the same summer, the same way I'm
- 16:22Speaker 3: started talking about like Supercross.
- 16:23Speaker 4: Right, which we do need to get that booked.
- 16:26Speaker 3: You where are we on that. I've been scared to
- 16:29Speaker 3: bring it up, but I've had people reach out. Maybe
- 16:32Speaker 3: we could. There's a chance we could have an interview
- 16:34Speaker 3: inside the bus.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Wow, dang, does it hit bikes for everybody?
- 16:38Speaker 3: I don't know if that could make that op.
- 16:39Speaker 5: Does anyone here have any Christmas traditions of the same Vein?
- 16:43Speaker 5: I agree with you, like this is the biggest kind
- 16:46Speaker 5: of Christmas tradition I hear of. But does he don't
- 16:48Speaker 5: have anything else? It's like once Holidays here, you're doing
- 16:51Speaker 5: X y Z with your family.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Uh, every Christmas Day morning me, jeff Ame, Mary Haley, Mattie.
- 17:00Speaker 3: We all go to wallflouse. That's pretty cool. Smothered and covered, chunked.
- 17:05Speaker 3: It's chunked still never it's still never been.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Actually I don't really get chunked. I don't want him
- 17:10Speaker 2: in my hash browns.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Just smothered.
- 17:12Speaker 4: That's a good one.
- 17:13Speaker 3: For my birthday dinner.
- 17:14Speaker 4: We didn't do this all the time growing up, but
- 17:16Speaker 4: ever since I've probably been a senior in high school,
- 17:19Speaker 4: my dad will make lamb chops and it's my favorite meal.
- 17:23Speaker 4: And my dad is an amazing cook. And every single
- 17:26Speaker 4: year I look forward to it. And it's, you know,
- 17:28Speaker 4: a it's a bone friendly meal, so you can pick
- 17:30Speaker 4: it up, chomp down. And I look forward to those
- 17:33Speaker 4: lamb chops every year.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Poros so underrated, are.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Like tradition, and it's like so different than mitches is
- 17:40Speaker 1: going to y'all know the like the Galored Opera land
- 17:44Speaker 1: here and they do ice here. They do that in
- 17:46Speaker 1: Texas too, at the Galer Texan and we would like
- 17:49Speaker 1: my favorite memory is just we'd always carve out a night.
- 17:51Speaker 1: We go get dinner and then we go see Santa
- 17:53Speaker 1: and then go to like ice in the sledding and
- 17:56Speaker 1: all that there, and like, I have not done that
- 17:58Speaker 1: in a few years, you know, because I've been away
- 18:01Speaker 1: from home. And so me and Addie went to the
- 18:05Speaker 1: one at the Aubrey Land and so I felt like
- 18:08Speaker 1: a kid again walking through ice, like doing the whole thing.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I don't do the slide, I did not We didn't do.
- 18:14Speaker 1: So there's like a sledding thing that you pay for
- 18:16Speaker 1: separately that's like separate of ice, but it's part of it,
- 18:20Speaker 1: if that makes sense. And then there's like the ice
- 18:21Speaker 1: slides in there, and I did not go because it
- 18:24Speaker 1: was it was kind of you know, Addie went, I
- 18:27Speaker 1: filed her and then I didn't go because I was scared.
- 18:29Speaker 3: I was cold, man cold.
- 18:33Speaker 2: They give you like the big like thermal jackets though,
- 18:35Speaker 2: right to walk through.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Yeah, And a lot of people bring babies into there,
- 18:39Speaker 1: and that is crazy. There's like fifty strollers and babies.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Are instruct you saying the sledding remind me of something
- 18:47Speaker 3: that my family sometimes does, but it's typically after Christmas
- 18:52Speaker 3: because it's colder.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Uh.
- 18:54Speaker 3: We have like a mountain house where my dad and
- 18:56Speaker 3: brother go hunting, and up there they have a toboggan
- 18:59Speaker 3: run where like the like it's like a massive hill
- 19:04Speaker 3: and it goes out onto a lake and the lake
- 19:06Speaker 3: has to be like two feet thick of ice and
- 19:08Speaker 3: it gets like really cold up there. So like that's
- 19:10Speaker 3: not a crazy thing to happen, but we've gone like
- 19:13Speaker 3: four or five times and bro, you get launched out
- 19:18Speaker 3: onto the lake you're going at least like fifty by
- 19:20Speaker 3: the time you're going down, Yes.
- 19:22Speaker 4: Fifty fifty.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Bro's sitting on the top of a sled. No, like
- 19:27Speaker 3: you know, there's a it's a toboggan. So like, how
- 19:29Speaker 3: big is this lake? Huge? Like going across the lake,
- 19:33Speaker 3: you're you're going out to like the middle of it,
- 19:35Speaker 3: and then what you got to.
- 19:36Speaker 5: Just get back and then you just walk it back
- 19:38Speaker 5: is a toboggan the rail sled.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Yeah, so you're like, I got one on the port
- 19:43Speaker 3: right now. Some of us would be on it, like
- 19:45Speaker 3: it is, hooked up at each other and a lot
- 19:48Speaker 3: of like that much weight going out there and then
- 19:50Speaker 3: you just gotta walk walk your ass all the way
- 19:53Speaker 3: back up. But it is it's so much fun.
- 19:55Speaker 1: You feel sketched out like on the ies.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Oh, Bro, when you get out there, when you know
- 19:58Speaker 3: because it has to be thick enough so you know
- 20:01Speaker 3: you're straight, but like.
- 20:02Speaker 4: SI, but how do you know it's thick?
- 20:04Speaker 2: There's still that Yeah, who's the one that's like we're good.
- 20:08Speaker 3: The scary part is when you're out there it's so
- 20:10Speaker 3: dark because like there's only like a couple of spotlights
- 20:13Speaker 3: at the top of the hill. But then you just
- 20:15Speaker 3: have to like walk all the way back and then
- 20:17Speaker 3: you have to walk up the hill like it's a
- 20:19Speaker 3: it's in a hole ordeal, but it is. It's really
- 20:21Speaker 3: cool to do. Dude.
- 20:22Speaker 4: That's like whenever I hear people, really hear people, really
- 20:26Speaker 4: whenever we see Steve Vanella and he's talking about ice fishing. Yeah, dude,
- 20:30Speaker 4: ice fishing sketches me out so much. And I was
- 20:34Speaker 4: watching A Secret Life of Walter Mittie on the plane
- 20:37Speaker 4: and when he moved back and when he jumps from
- 20:39Speaker 4: the helicopter into the ocean, they're like, you got about,
- 20:42Speaker 4: you know, three minutes before you go into hypothermia.
- 20:45Speaker 3: I immediately thought about men.
- 20:46Speaker 4: If Will and Taylor ever went ice fishing with Steve Vanella,
- 20:49Speaker 4: I don't think I'm going because what if it does
- 20:52Speaker 4: crack and Steve would just be there probably laughing.
- 20:55Speaker 2: I think you're out there for a long time too.
- 20:57Speaker 2: I know you got a camp people like build campfires.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:00Speaker 2: One of my uh my old next door neighbor, uh
- 21:04Speaker 2: Tanner Elmore Shadow Tanner lives in Minnesota and he does
- 21:08Speaker 2: that in the winter.
- 21:09Speaker 3: All right. I have a buddy, a couple of buddies
- 21:11Speaker 3: in New Jersey. That'll do that like drill the hole
- 21:13Speaker 3: and then it's like you just basically build a hut. Yeah.
- 21:15Speaker 4: I used to crush that game on Club Penguin two.
- 21:17Speaker 4: I'll be catching that Mondo.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Fish the Meglodon.
- 21:22Speaker 4: Played them. Oh who else had the Who hasn't said one?
- 21:26Speaker 3: Derek?
- 21:27Speaker 4: You got one? Uh we I.
- 21:29Speaker 7: I just going back to Pittsburgh with my parents now
- 21:31Speaker 7: that I moved here, and it's fun. We don't really
- 21:32Speaker 7: have too many traditions. We'll always go over we have
- 21:34Speaker 7: like two high school buddies we're best friends with. We'll
- 21:37Speaker 7: always go over the one dude house because he's like
- 21:38Speaker 7: the Weasleys. He has seven brothers and sisters.
- 21:41Speaker 6: His parents were substitute teachers at the school.
- 21:43Speaker 7: Like they live in the middle of nowhere and it's
- 21:45Speaker 7: like wood surrounded, so we'll always go there for it.
- 21:47Speaker 7: And then last year I started one where I just
- 21:49Speaker 7: I just cooked for my parents. Now, so I had
- 21:51Speaker 7: my two high school best friends over and I just
- 21:52Speaker 7: cooked like a big meal steak, chicken, potatoes, a bunch
- 21:54Speaker 7: of sides. And so that's the first Christmas tradition I've
- 21:57Speaker 7: like developed in the night.
- 21:59Speaker 4: That is cool.
- 22:00Speaker 7: But now there's not. I mean ever since I moved,
- 22:01Speaker 7: there's not too much. I just want to go home
- 22:03Speaker 7: and be at my parents' house and like enjoy it,
- 22:04Speaker 7: which is kind of nice.
- 22:05Speaker 4: But I love that for sure.
- 22:06Speaker 3: For sure, there's nothing better going home seeing your childhood dog.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Yeah, my mind's getting older. Gotta meet Kai.
- 22:15Speaker 3: What a legend he getting old?
- 22:16Speaker 7: Man?
- 22:17Speaker 3: Sad my dog Coda is? I think he's like nine
- 22:22Speaker 3: or ten now? Choco a lab? Oh boy? Does he
- 22:25Speaker 3: go caroling? No, he would be. Does your brother go
- 22:28Speaker 3: make the cut? No, my brother doesn't.
- 22:30Speaker 4: This could be the year on the bus y'all want
- 22:32Speaker 4: to get the relationship going, to get out there. I know,
- 22:35Speaker 4: I think my I guess you don't live in New Jersey.
- 22:38Speaker 3: He like he knows a couple of my buddies. But
- 22:40Speaker 3: I feel like he'd be out of place. But I mean,
- 22:43Speaker 3: Nate loves drinking, so I mean he could do, he
- 22:46Speaker 3: would be, he'd fit right in. It's not like nobody
- 22:48Speaker 3: knows who he is. But I feel like he's always
- 22:50Speaker 3: got ship planned with his buddies back home. Yeah, you
- 22:54Speaker 3: can make one hundred shit, that'd be crazy. I don't
- 23:00Speaker 3: know what you think about it. This is the first neighborhood.
- 23:04Speaker 3: This is the first year I'm not staying at Dietrich's house,
- 23:06Speaker 3: which kind of you're in the hotel. Yeah, I gotta
- 23:08Speaker 3: get a hotel, buddy man, Mitch. It was for one night.
- 23:12Speaker 3: It's like three hundred bucks, but it's nothing. Charge it
- 23:16Speaker 3: to the game.
- 23:17Speaker 4: We want to do best Christmas. Everybody says their favorite
- 23:20Speaker 4: Christmas movie and then we talk our favorite gift or
- 23:24Speaker 4: that works.
- 23:25Speaker 5: Should we do it to where you have to say
- 23:28Speaker 5: one singular movie. I think it's really hard to pinpoint one,
- 23:31Speaker 5: but you have to lay down.
- 23:33Speaker 2: I feel like I have one, and I like, I
- 23:36Speaker 2: have always felt very strongly about this and it's Jim
- 23:41Speaker 2: Carries the Grinch.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Love it now.
- 23:42Speaker 3: It's just it will always be, forever, will be.
- 23:47Speaker 2: I know I'm only allowed to say one, but I
- 23:49Speaker 2: did just recently watch the animated one, and if you
- 23:52Speaker 2: haven't seen.
- 23:52Speaker 3: That one, it's amazing.
- 23:54Speaker 4: I need to watch it.
- 23:55Speaker 2: One of It's one of my favorite animation styles. To
- 23:59Speaker 2: the colors are so vibrant. It's just a very fun watch.
- 24:04Speaker 2: And yeah, it's fantastic for them to try and redo
- 24:08Speaker 2: a Grinch movie that is so good with Jim Carrey.
- 24:11Speaker 2: But Jim Carrey Grinch. That character might be in one
- 24:15Speaker 2: of the top movie characters for me of all time.
- 24:20Speaker 4: The Grinch is just dude. Even the people that dress
- 24:23Speaker 4: up as the Grinch at the amusement parks and mess
- 24:25Speaker 4: with the kids, the parents that put on the Grinch
- 24:27Speaker 4: outfit and scare their kids or friends.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Kids, those videos are funny.
- 24:31Speaker 4: The Grinch has given us so many great gifts for Christmas,
- 24:35Speaker 4: one of the greatest on the.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Internet, which is kind of ironic.
- 24:38Speaker 4: I know, right, little does he know he makes the
- 24:41Speaker 4: holiday season.
- 24:41Speaker 1: It's heart grew three size.
- 24:43Speaker 3: I bet he's sick here in this got you Grinch?
- 24:47Speaker 4: Who wants to go?
- 24:47Speaker 1: I'll go mine? I mean you said Stamford one. I
- 24:51Speaker 1: guess it is one. There's three of them. But my
- 24:54Speaker 1: best memories the movie I feel like I watched every
- 24:57Speaker 1: year and just like loved it was Santa Claus, like
- 24:59Speaker 1: t Allen ones you love. I mean the first one
- 25:03Speaker 1: is goat right. The other two I still love, But
- 25:06Speaker 1: that first one. When I think of Christmas movies, like
- 25:09Speaker 1: the first one I go to is that one every
- 25:10Speaker 1: single time.
- 25:11Speaker 3: It's a great one.
- 25:12Speaker 1: That's my favorite.
- 25:12Speaker 3: It's a good one, great movie. Mine. I feel like
- 25:16Speaker 3: this is like in I don't know if it's an
- 25:17Speaker 3: unpopular opinion, but for whatever reason, I love the Polar
- 25:21Speaker 3: Express great one. Just the movie the Hot Chocolate Song,
- 25:27Speaker 3: the like ten or Tom Hanks being the conductor and
- 25:31Speaker 3: looking so much like him, talk about a wild animation style.
- 25:36Speaker 1: That's what I remember, like going to see that in
- 25:38Speaker 1: theaters and I must have been it might be my
- 25:41Speaker 1: first theater memory. I remember I was maybe seven, and
- 25:45Speaker 1: I just I do have a soft spot for that
- 25:47Speaker 1: movie because of that.
- 25:48Speaker 3: That's how I am with the ELF.
- 25:49Speaker 4: I wish I could remember my first movie theater.
- 25:52Speaker 1: I remember exactly what my first one is, but I
- 25:54Speaker 1: think that might be it because I have a funny story.
- 25:57Speaker 3: But yeah, the el like uh Polars where it's like
- 26:00Speaker 3: the Hot Chocolate and then also the caribou scene where
- 26:03Speaker 3: he's pulling his beard. I just love that scene for
- 26:06Speaker 3: whatever reason, and it's right left.
- 26:10Speaker 4: I just.
- 26:12Speaker 5: If you could be one character in that movie, Like,
- 26:14Speaker 5: who do you think relates to your personality the most?
- 26:19Speaker 3: I wish I knew their names. I'd be the homeless guy.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Be the homeless guy on top of the I'm looking
- 26:25Speaker 1: for a girl.
- 26:26Speaker 6: Hey, we all.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Probably probably the homeless guy, because I wouldn't be the
- 26:33Speaker 3: uh I forget the main character's name, and I wouldn't
- 26:37Speaker 3: be that annoying.
- 26:38Speaker 5: Nerd who I'm sure I wasn't coming out for that one.
- 26:43Speaker 5: That kid is so annoying though.
- 26:45Speaker 3: The like I also love like even Yeah, Tom Hanks character,
- 26:51Speaker 3: I think we can make that happen. He's like doing it.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Yeah, you'd be Tom Hanks, one of that guy in
- 26:59Speaker 2: the home man.
- 27:01Speaker 5: I will say, Will Compton how to tweet the other
- 27:03Speaker 5: night about it. There is something a little unsettling about
- 27:06Speaker 5: the Polar Express, the way a train just pulls up
- 27:09Speaker 5: in the front yard, has a bunch of kids, takes
- 27:11Speaker 5: them away. I'm not gonna like destroy the value of Christmas.
- 27:15Speaker 3: You don't do that.
- 27:16Speaker 5: But what Cooper or someone was saying earlier the there's
- 27:21Speaker 5: like a whole debate about animation styles and how if
- 27:23Speaker 5: it can get too realistic to the human eye. It
- 27:25Speaker 5: feels very unsettling and Polar Express they've done these studies
- 27:29Speaker 5: to where it is the closest you can get two
- 27:31Speaker 5: sets of animation style. Because I feel that a little
- 27:34Speaker 5: bit where when you watch it hyper realism, say what
- 27:38Speaker 5: like the uncanny Valley thing. I think that's is that
- 27:41Speaker 5: what it is.
- 27:43Speaker 3: You're describing where.
- 27:45Speaker 7: Something like Bilwolf she looks exactly how she looked. There
- 27:49Speaker 7: is a categorized like fear of that just unsettling.
- 27:52Speaker 5: Yeah, something about it. It just makes you feel a
- 27:54Speaker 5: little fishy. But yeah, I still like the movie a lot.
- 27:57Speaker 5: I think it's great.
- 27:58Speaker 1: That's Scarce and the One Box Car. I haven't seen
- 28:01Speaker 1: a movie in a long time, Like when when I
- 28:03Speaker 1: was little.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Scared when they went down like the back alleyway or
- 28:06Speaker 3: whatever they were doing on that trolley, like that part
- 28:08Speaker 3: always just with the with the puppets and like the
- 28:12Speaker 3: uh this song where it gets stuck on repeat like
- 28:14Speaker 3: that always creeped me out. But then why were they
- 28:17Speaker 3: cooking in that scene? But overall great movie. Yeah, and
- 28:21Speaker 3: hearing the bell because he believed in it, Like, yeah,
- 28:25Speaker 3: it's got a good story. Yeah, yeah, Mine has gotta
- 28:30Speaker 3: be the O. G. Rudolph movie.
- 28:33Speaker 4: Okay, I love the playmation Yukon Cornelius one of my
- 28:37Speaker 4: favorite movie characters of all time. Silver and Gold one
- 28:41Speaker 4: of my favorite songs of all time. And then I remember,
- 28:44Speaker 4: I forget when I learned it, But when I learned
- 28:46Speaker 4: that in the real O g Rudolph, he wasn't looking
- 28:50Speaker 4: for silver and gold. He's looking for peppermint. And that's
- 28:52Speaker 4: why he's always licking his pickaxe to see if he
- 28:55Speaker 4: could taste something sweet. One of the greatest adventurers, explorers,
- 28:58Speaker 4: most brave men ever. Story of Rudolph the Ultimate Underdog
- 29:03Speaker 4: and yeah, Rudolph.
- 29:05Speaker 3: My number one.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Those are a good one.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Like Frosty too, Yeah, those are the narration of it.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Like I mean, even the cartoon Grinch one is great too.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, they like the one ft in front of
- 29:15Speaker 3: the other song. Yeah, heat, that's what we call ditrich.
- 29:22Speaker 3: This is just so epic.
- 29:24Speaker 1: What's the what's the what's the little ELFs name? On
- 29:27Speaker 1: Misfit Island? That was they you know what I'm talking about.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I know he's talking about.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Those are good.
- 29:33Speaker 4: That's good.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Some pretty weird.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Characters in that movie though, that work with Santa. Yeah,
- 29:37Speaker 2: I know, think of something.
- 29:40Speaker 4: It's one of my earliest movie memories, like watching that one.
- 29:43Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's a good one.
- 29:45Speaker 1: That was another one I gotta watch again, Like those
- 29:47Speaker 1: are other ones I gotta watch again because I haven't
- 29:49Speaker 1: seen this a long time.
- 29:50Speaker 5: I probably would have stuck with the Santa Claus. But
- 29:53Speaker 5: since you've taken that, I'll switch directions. But I do
- 29:56Speaker 5: have a hot take after And this just occurred to
- 29:59Speaker 5: me in the last two weeks because I watched the
- 30:01Speaker 5: first one. I was put my Christmas trip, I put
- 30:03Speaker 5: the Santa Claus on. Love that movie means a lot
- 30:05Speaker 5: to my family. We always watch it on Christmas. I
- 30:09Speaker 5: now believe that the Santa Claus, too, I think is
- 30:11Speaker 5: better than Santa Claus, which is not a very popular take.
- 30:16Speaker 5: But I think there's a lot more that happens at
- 30:18Speaker 5: the North Pole than because if you go and watch
- 30:20Speaker 5: the Santa Claus. Really there's about ten minutes of the
- 30:23Speaker 5: hour and thirty minute movie that are in the North
- 30:25Speaker 5: Pole and the rest is in it. Realistically, you can't
- 30:28Speaker 5: beat the og Santa Claus. But I really liked it.
- 30:31Speaker 5: I love how Charlie becomes this like punk like he's
- 30:34Speaker 5: like anti establishment because their public high school won't support
- 30:38Speaker 5: like a Christian.
- 30:39Speaker 1: That's that one, Yeah, Is Jack Frost?
- 30:42Speaker 3: The third one?
- 30:43Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 30:43Speaker 5: That one I won't even because yeah, I think it's
- 30:47Speaker 5: Martin Short is like Jack Frost.
- 30:49Speaker 4: But all was slide in.
- 30:51Speaker 3: That second one too.
- 30:52Speaker 5: But if I had to pick another one that's not
- 30:54Speaker 5: like your typical Christmas one for Christmases is just such
- 30:58Speaker 5: a great laugh for a love that one can't go
- 31:01Speaker 5: wrong with Vince Vaughan and John Favreau. They crush it.
- 31:04Speaker 3: And yeahl whole cast is crazy.
- 31:07Speaker 5: There's just so many good moments and funny stuff that
- 31:10Speaker 5: that transpires. So if I need a good laugh, I'm
- 31:12Speaker 5: gonna throw four Christmases on. So yeah, I can think
- 31:15Speaker 5: that's where I'm gonna say.
- 31:15Speaker 2: I feel like there's like a couple of dark Horse
- 31:18Speaker 2: ones that I enjoy, and one would be Fred Claus.
- 31:21Speaker 2: I think that one's hilarious.
- 31:23Speaker 3: That's also another.
- 31:24Speaker 5: Yeah, Chris, like Jack Frost honorable mentioned Jack Cross is depressing.
- 31:30Speaker 1: It is bro mentioned Christmas Vacation. Yeah, that's one of
- 31:35Speaker 1: the gristiest ones. I just rewatched that. I'm like everyone's
- 31:38Speaker 1: seen it.
- 31:39Speaker 3: That movie will make my dad laugh harder than anything
- 31:42Speaker 3: so to this day. Still, I know we'll probably get
- 31:44Speaker 3: a lot of hate for saying like Home Alone or EL.
- 31:47Speaker 2: For I Yeah, EL is fantastic. There's so many, like
- 31:51Speaker 2: I'm still trying to think.
- 31:53Speaker 4: It's a great genre of movie. Yeah, so many good movies.
- 31:56Speaker 7: Derek, what you got honorable mention for me, I know,
- 31:59Speaker 7: weren't supposed to do. I watch for the first time
- 32:00Speaker 7: the night before. Have you guys seen that. Yeah that's
- 32:04Speaker 7: Seth Rogan, Anthony John's and yeah Jewish and yeah the.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Drugs, trying to impress the new his like new in laws.
- 32:13Speaker 7: Kind of it's about they always go out on the
- 32:15Speaker 7: same night, except Anthony gets super famous. Seth has a
- 32:18Speaker 7: relationship just for Gordon levit'z like parents passed away, so
- 32:21Speaker 7: they do that to help him, And it's basically about
- 32:23Speaker 7: them trying to find this party and then on the
- 32:25Speaker 7: last time they're doing it, they find tickets to the party,
- 32:28Speaker 7: and Seth Rogan's wife is basically like, hey, we're having
- 32:30Speaker 7: a kid. You've been my rock star. Here's a bucket
- 32:33Speaker 7: full of drugs. Take them all. And then he ends
- 32:35Speaker 7: up going to church with his in laws.
- 32:37Speaker 3: So funny.
- 32:38Speaker 6: But my pick is Jingle all the way. We're talking.
- 32:46Speaker 5: I'm due to watch that still this this year. I
- 32:49Speaker 5: have a huge soft spot for Jingle all the Way.
- 32:51Speaker 7: I forgot how crazy the jetpack scene was. Everything's realistic
- 32:55Speaker 7: up until he's flying around the skyline of the city
- 32:58Speaker 7: on a jet pack.
- 32:59Speaker 6: I was like, Oh, never mind, this isn't real.
- 33:01Speaker 5: This is Turbo time.
- 33:02Speaker 3: What's the movie with Miles Teller, Zach Efron and Michael B. Jordan.
- 33:08Speaker 3: I don't know that one Neighbors. No, it's like The
- 33:10Speaker 3: Three Friends.
- 33:11Speaker 5: No, that's twenty one and up is it? Yeah, but
- 33:15Speaker 5: it's Miles Teller, an Asian guy, and.
- 33:19Speaker 7: That's the first Tellers in a relationship and they're all
- 33:22Speaker 7: living together.
- 33:22Speaker 4: That one.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Yeah, you guys ever seen the Harold and Kumar Christmas one?
- 33:27Speaker 2: That one's I've only seen the one Harold and Kumar
- 33:29Speaker 2: The White Castle.
- 33:30Speaker 3: Dude.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Also, we're all Nicholas Cage fans, right love Nick k Dude,
- 33:35Speaker 4: maybe you've already seen this, but I just watched for
- 33:37Speaker 4: the first time. He's got a Christmas Christmas movie. It's
- 33:40Speaker 4: called The Family Man, and this is one of the
- 33:43Speaker 4: best Christmas movies I've seen, and I was so shocked.
- 33:46Speaker 4: Don Chiegel is in it. He's living this big millionaire life.
- 33:52Speaker 4: And the whole premise is as he got on the
- 33:55Speaker 4: plane to go to London to go chase the dream,
- 33:57Speaker 4: he had to break up with his girlfriend.
- 34:00Speaker 3: So then you fast forward.
- 34:01Speaker 4: He's doing great. He has the big corner office in
- 34:03Speaker 4: New York. He's going to the convenience store. One day,
- 34:06Speaker 4: Don Cheatle is robbing somebody. Nicholas Cage steps in and
- 34:10Speaker 4: it's like, hey, don't do this, here's the money, YadA YadA.
- 34:14Speaker 4: Don Cheatle says something cryptic. The next day, Nicholas Cage
- 34:18Speaker 4: wakes up in the reality in which he stays and
- 34:20Speaker 4: didn't get on that plane. So he has his his wife,
- 34:24Speaker 4: he has two kids, but he has no idea how
- 34:26Speaker 4: to be a dad, how to be a husband. And
- 34:28Speaker 4: then you probably see where it goes. But like he
- 34:31Speaker 4: basically just has to come come to a decision of
- 34:35Speaker 4: like she's the wife, yeah, she's also dude. It is
- 34:43Speaker 4: a good movie.
- 34:45Speaker 5: Also on the thread of like, well that's this isn't
- 34:47Speaker 5: like a new movie. I would assume it seems like it's.
- 34:49Speaker 3: From two thousand, Yeah, the new movies.
- 34:52Speaker 5: I was mentioning this to someone the other day. But
- 34:54Speaker 5: Red One with the Rock and Chris Evans watch It's
- 34:59Speaker 5: like Reason came out last year in twenty twenty four.
- 35:02Speaker 3: It is so worth superhero.
- 35:04Speaker 5: It's just an action Christmas movie that is I like
- 35:08Speaker 5: take what you want about the Rock and like cheesy
- 35:10Speaker 5: this cheesy that that's what Christmas movies are about, like
- 35:12Speaker 5: being cheesy. It's not like over the top cheesy. It
- 35:15Speaker 5: is very entertaining. It's got a lot of good laughs,
- 35:18Speaker 5: like a pretty solid storyline. And then if you like
- 35:20Speaker 5: more violent movies, Violent.
- 35:22Speaker 3: Night, Yeah, that's what Hopper from.
- 35:24Speaker 5: Yeah, David Bauer what, I can't remember his name.
- 35:28Speaker 3: That movie rock.
- 35:29Speaker 5: It's awesome and they have some brutal killings in that
- 35:32Speaker 5: that really will scratch an itch if you're into that
- 35:34Speaker 5: kind of thing.
- 35:35Speaker 3: But movie I was thinking of was that awkward moment.
- 35:37Speaker 7: Sorry you guys seen Crampis. Yes, it's another one that's
- 35:42Speaker 7: kind of like Violent Knight that rips.
- 35:44Speaker 5: Actually I saw a clip of that, I think on
- 35:48Speaker 5: Twitter a couple of weeks ago. I have not I
- 35:50Speaker 5: need to see that as well.
- 35:51Speaker 3: There's like there's a bunch of different Crampises. Though the
- 35:54Speaker 3: one I saw like it was my senior year or
- 35:57Speaker 3: it was my freshman year of college. We all watched
- 36:00Speaker 3: it right before like we went home for Christmas, and like, yo,
- 36:04Speaker 3: that was actually an insane movie. It was actually like
- 36:06Speaker 3: really good like back then, but I like it was great.
- 36:11Speaker 3: It was wild.
- 36:12Speaker 2: Office Christmas Party is another just one that is very fun,
- 36:17Speaker 2: except for what's his name apparently sucks now?
- 36:20Speaker 5: Yeah, but his garlic Bakman.
- 36:22Speaker 3: The guy who that is, Yeah, he's he's awesome. Have
- 36:27Speaker 3: you not seen that movie?
- 36:28Speaker 4: No, No, I've seen the movie.
- 36:29Speaker 5: Yeah in real life though, you should watch its office
- 36:33Speaker 5: Christmas Party.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Jason Bateman, t J. Miller, Jennifer Aniston. I say Ike's
- 36:39Speaker 2: last name.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Family Stone will get the tears going if you haven't.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Yeah one, what's the other one with Jack Black?
- 36:47Speaker 3: And crap? What is that one?
- 36:52Speaker 4: The Holidays?
- 36:52Speaker 3: The Holiday? That's what it is.
- 36:54Speaker 5: Holiday is a great movie.
- 36:56Speaker 6: Speaking of new ones, have you guys seen Spirited?
- 36:59Speaker 4: I need to watch it?
- 37:01Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, Taylor loves that one.
- 37:02Speaker 1: My mom in twenty twenty two, whenever that came out,
- 37:05Speaker 1: when I was home for Christmas, played that movie on repeat.
- 37:09Speaker 1: I'm I kid you not. She might be the biggest
- 37:10Speaker 1: fan of that movie on repeat. I know all the songs.
- 37:14Speaker 4: We have to get tip on the podcast.
- 37:17Speaker 1: We'd go for two hours.
- 37:18Speaker 4: He's first four apparently she spirited Ryan Reynolds.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Shif Tiff Rocks, she'd be a good listen.
- 37:24Speaker 4: She would be awesome.
- 37:25Speaker 1: But that movie, like, yeah, we watched it on thanks.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Even when we went like she made like addie me
- 37:32Speaker 1: and like everybody watched, like, let's watch this movie.
- 37:34Speaker 4: You gotta love mom rallying people around a movie at
- 37:36Speaker 4: night in the holiday and.
- 37:37Speaker 1: They also rallied. My sister and her my mom and
- 37:40Speaker 1: they rallied and watched. The Jonas Brothers movie was worth
- 37:42Speaker 1: five minutes of television I've ever seen.
- 37:44Speaker 3: In my life.
- 37:45Speaker 1: I went straight upstairs.
- 37:46Speaker 3: Yeah, Rocks come out there coming everyone coming out for real.
- 37:50Speaker 3: I saw something about like they were doing that and
- 37:53Speaker 3: he's coming back out.
- 37:54Speaker 2: If you had to make a new Christmas movie today,
- 37:58Speaker 2: who would you want the lead actor to be?
- 38:00Speaker 3: Jared Beman you already know my answer. Chris Hemsworth.
- 38:03Speaker 5: Yeah, he'd be a good Christmas factor, dude.
- 38:07Speaker 4: You could get him and Liam involved. Honestly, all of them.
- 38:11Speaker 4: Man luked that they could have that. They'd be a
- 38:14Speaker 4: fun goofy Christmas of family.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it'd be funny if like Chris had a girl
- 38:19Speaker 2: he was bringing home and his brothers at home where
- 38:22Speaker 2: his actual brothers in the movie.
- 38:24Speaker 3: They are just going nuts and they're wait, this.
- 38:27Speaker 4: Is for Christmas? It is, but who cares?
- 38:31Speaker 3: Dude?
- 38:31Speaker 1: Trying to see Ryan Gosling Christmas movie.
- 38:34Speaker 4: Like Ryan Gosling.
- 38:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like he could Hugh Jackman. Yeah, it's
- 38:38Speaker 3: a matter of time before it's.
- 38:41Speaker 4: He's got to be. He's had to have been one of.
- 38:45Speaker 3: Just his he's the character just from it, like watching
- 38:51Speaker 3: stick thinking how funny he can be. Like, I feel
- 38:54Speaker 3: like he would Price Casell Christmas movie.
- 38:57Speaker 2: I asked that question, and I don't know who mine
- 38:59Speaker 2: would be, but new Christmas movies. We gotta, we gotta,
- 39:05Speaker 2: we gotta make that happen.
- 39:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:08Speaker 4: Uh, do you wanna do gifts?
- 39:12Speaker 3: This is one of the best. The best gift recency
- 39:15Speaker 3: bias right now that I feel like we can all
- 39:17Speaker 3: relate to is what Will is getting us right now?
- 39:20Speaker 3: Great gift And I've never had my card detailed before,
- 39:24Speaker 3: but it's one of those things that it's like, you
- 39:25Speaker 3: know what, that actually be so sick. So thank you
- 39:28Speaker 3: Will for getting that for all the boys. It means
- 39:32Speaker 3: a lot.
- 39:33Speaker 2: If you're a boss is listening, yeah, get consider getting
- 39:37Speaker 2: your employees card detailing. And if you're an employee out there,
- 39:42Speaker 2: ask your boss for Christmas blessed with Yeah, would be
- 39:46Speaker 2: a good gift for I asked for every single year
- 39:49Speaker 2: It's on my Christmas list every year I asked for it.
- 39:53Speaker 3: That's the only thing I've never even like thought I
- 39:55Speaker 3: don't like.
- 39:57Speaker 2: If there's something that I want, most of the time,
- 39:59Speaker 2: like I feel like I'll go get it. Yeah, but
- 40:01Speaker 2: that's one of those to your point, like how many
- 40:03Speaker 2: times are you gonna be like, let me go schedule
- 40:05Speaker 2: to get this done, let me take all this stuff
- 40:07Speaker 2: out of my car.
- 40:09Speaker 3: It sounds so lazy, but it just is. It looks
- 40:12Speaker 3: so nice too. Oh dude, I can't wait. This morning
- 40:15Speaker 3: and it was clean, I was like, oh shit, I
- 40:19Speaker 3: know I was. I've been saying. I'm like, I'm obviously
- 40:22Speaker 3: super grateful for getting it, but I'm like pissed because
- 40:24Speaker 3: I'm gonna be driving up twelve hours up to pa
- 40:26Speaker 3: just for it to get on the first the least.
- 40:27Speaker 5: That's just the outside.
- 40:28Speaker 3: The inside.
- 40:29Speaker 2: You're like, the first three minutes of my drive this morning,
- 40:31Speaker 2: some guys blowing Apollo leaves.
- 40:32Speaker 3: I was like, motherfucker. I just drove as fast as
- 40:36Speaker 3: I could through that little spot. We're still good, though
- 40:39Speaker 3: it's squeaky.
- 40:40Speaker 4: That was weaky.
- 40:43Speaker 5: Well that's what what's like the best gift that it
- 40:46Speaker 5: doesn't necessarily to be in your Santa days, but like
- 40:50Speaker 5: when you were getting them on Christmas morning from your family,
- 40:52Speaker 5: Like what can you pinpoint from your childhood of a
- 40:55Speaker 5: gift that really changed everything.
- 40:57Speaker 3: One that sticks out to me and and because it
- 41:01Speaker 3: like introduced like a whole nother I guess you could
- 41:03Speaker 3: say sport into my life was when my brother and
- 41:05Speaker 3: I got dirt bikes for Christmas.
- 41:08Speaker 4: We were was it a all right? Yeah, explained it.
- 41:10Speaker 4: I was gonna ask where'd your dad have them sitting?
- 41:13Speaker 3: Yeah? So we were opened up. We were opening up gifts,
- 41:15Speaker 3: like we got like the little like dirt bike like
- 41:17Speaker 3: action figures, and then we opened up like one gift
- 41:20Speaker 3: was like a like helmets, like motocross helmets, and we
- 41:24Speaker 3: were like this is sick because we were kids, like
- 41:26Speaker 3: you just kind of think it's super cool and then
- 41:28Speaker 3: you just ride it when you wear in your bike.
- 41:29Speaker 3: So we finished up and then my dad was like,
- 41:31Speaker 3: all right, there's one more, like come out here when
- 41:34Speaker 3: and like the bikes were in the garage and we
- 41:36Speaker 3: were like whoa like freaking out about it? Yeah, And
- 41:40Speaker 3: it was like it was how old were you? I
- 41:44Speaker 3: want to say, I was like between ten and twelve
- 41:48Speaker 3: and my brother was between six and nine. I feel
- 41:53Speaker 3: like it had to be to the later part of
- 41:54Speaker 3: it because my brother, I don't think he would have
- 41:57Speaker 3: started riding around six, so I think it was before.
- 42:00Speaker 3: It was when we were still I was still in
- 42:01Speaker 3: middle school. But like, I couldn't for the life of me,
- 42:05Speaker 3: I couldn't figure out how to work the clutch on
- 42:07Speaker 3: the big bike, and Nate learned how to do it instantly.
- 42:09Speaker 3: I'm like, it's just not fair.
- 42:12Speaker 4: That mast.
- 42:14Speaker 3: So that's how we got into like supercross and stuff,
- 42:17Speaker 3: and it's like, I mean, now you guys are hearing
- 42:20Speaker 3: my obsession and stuff for it. So core memory one
- 42:23Speaker 3: of the cool one of the coolest gifts. I'm sure
- 42:25Speaker 3: I'm missing some more out there, but yeah, that was
- 42:29Speaker 3: That was probably one of my favorites.
- 42:30Speaker 5: I also got a dirt bike for Christmas one year,
- 42:32Speaker 5: and I remember because my dad grew up riding super
- 42:35Speaker 5: hard and oneted one. And this was still the time
- 42:38Speaker 5: where my youngest brother, Joey, the lore of Santa Claus
- 42:41Speaker 5: was still like, hey, Joey believes in Santa We're going
- 42:44Speaker 5: to all operate in this capacity. So there was one
- 42:47Speaker 5: room like full of toys, and then me and my
- 42:49Speaker 5: two other older siblings they you know, we have like
- 42:52Speaker 5: the whatever clothes or you know, a gift something like that,
- 42:56Speaker 5: and I'm like, damn, guess we're not getting one this year.
- 42:59Speaker 5: And then the room to directly next to it. My
- 43:01Speaker 5: dad was like, hey, come outside, and so like, oh
- 43:04Speaker 5: my god, and he's like he's like no, no, no,
- 43:07Speaker 5: He's like, I think it might be somewhere else because
- 43:09Speaker 5: Joey's kind of fun. He's like maybe Santa Plus. And
- 43:10Speaker 5: there was three dirt bikes in the living room directly
- 43:13Speaker 5: next to us, and so I got one, my younger
- 43:16Speaker 5: brother James, my older sister Maddie got one. I got
- 43:19Speaker 5: a one fifty cc with the clutch. But the following
- 43:22Speaker 5: summer my parents built the pool. Steve was doing well
- 43:25Speaker 5: for himself.
- 43:25Speaker 3: At this time.
- 43:27Speaker 5: They had an issue with the construction people at the pool.
- 43:30Speaker 5: The pool was held for six months, so they had
- 43:33Speaker 5: they had an entire pool of built I mean doug
- 43:36Speaker 5: but no concrete lad so there's just sitting dirt. My
- 43:39Speaker 5: dad built a backyard dirt bike draft that is so
- 43:44Speaker 5: we where we have these home videos of us just
- 43:46Speaker 5: ripping around. I remember there's this one specific video, of course,
- 43:49Speaker 5: it's like the only one that ever gets showed. Me
- 43:52Speaker 5: and my brother and my sister are racing. I dropped
- 43:54Speaker 5: the clutch and stalls out immediately, and I'm so mad
- 43:57Speaker 5: and I'm just like kick starting it. But I remember, yeah,
- 44:01Speaker 5: I was like, this is unbelievable.
- 44:03Speaker 4: Yeah, dude, what just That's got to be one of
- 44:06Speaker 4: the best dad moves of all time.
- 44:08Speaker 5: It's kind of freedom to where you're like, man, maybe
- 44:12Speaker 5: I can just take this thing and go wherever. Yeah,
- 44:14Speaker 5: you realize quickly it's like, all right, you can go
- 44:16Speaker 5: here or here. We're gonna take this out of town.
- 44:19Speaker 5: Neighbors were not happy.
- 44:20Speaker 3: About this bike track, I'll tell you that, but normal neighbors.
- 44:26Speaker 3: One of the things, it's like, come on, we weren't
- 44:29Speaker 3: allowed to ride unless my dad was home for the
- 44:30Speaker 3: longest time. Smart and then like finally like we had
- 44:34Speaker 3: to call and and get permission if you weren't home.
- 44:36Speaker 3: But our neighbors, our next door neighbors literally built or
- 44:39Speaker 3: literally bought like an absorbent amount of trees just to
- 44:44Speaker 3: like deafen the noise, and so they couldn't see us
- 44:47Speaker 3: riding around. And like, if you look at my house
- 44:49Speaker 3: and Google images you can see our Track's awesome.
- 44:53Speaker 4: I wish I had that.
- 44:55Speaker 2: I always wanted one, but like my parents didn't grow
- 44:58Speaker 2: up doing that's the same.
- 45:00Speaker 3: It was just wasn't in the cards. But I always
- 45:02Speaker 3: wanted to know how to ride a bike. So fun
- 45:04Speaker 3: dude now because now I'm just too old and it's scared.
- 45:07Speaker 5: I'm scared of it, right you when you don't care
- 45:12Speaker 5: if you tip it over fall breaking army the.
- 45:14Speaker 3: One that we have, the one that we have, scary.
- 45:17Speaker 2: I would I would try as I would try a.
- 45:20Speaker 3: Small I have a little pit bike at home. If
- 45:22Speaker 3: y'all come up for caroling. I tried. I talked Broke
- 45:25Speaker 3: out of ten years ago. I taught Broke how to
- 45:27Speaker 3: ride in like ten minutes. Oh really, yeah, she probably
- 45:30Speaker 3: forgets how I love that. Yeah, it was so sick.
- 45:33Speaker 4: It would be you know.
- 45:34Speaker 3: Mitch was like, Okay, just let me show you how
- 45:37Speaker 3: to do this. Yeah real quick.
- 45:40Speaker 4: Yeah, my best gift I have. I have a funny
- 45:45Speaker 4: Christmas story that you y'all all know, but it could
- 45:47Speaker 4: be good for the viewers.
- 45:48Speaker 3: You know, what do y'all do?
- 45:49Speaker 4: You can open one Crabsman on Christmas Eve and so
- 45:52Speaker 4: my uncle. He always got us the best presence, me
- 45:55Speaker 4: and my two brothers, and usually it was always the
- 45:57Speaker 4: newest video game or you know, something new in the
- 46:01Speaker 4: sports world. That it was Christmas Eve, you open uncle
- 46:04Speaker 4: Bob's present, and because you can play it all night,
- 46:08Speaker 4: and so they open theirs. They get two new video games.
- 46:11Speaker 4: Then they're telling me, Jay, do not open uncle Bob's present.
- 46:15Speaker 4: Open Mime's gift. Me Me at the time was probably
- 46:18Speaker 4: like eighty eight years old, very religious woman, sweet grandma.
- 46:22Speaker 4: She lives with us, but she doesn't understand, you know,
- 46:25Speaker 4: the three boys growing up in the two thousands, and
- 46:29Speaker 4: they're like, you trust me, Jay, You're gonna love it.
- 46:32Speaker 4: You're gonna be playing with it all night. This is
- 46:34Speaker 4: the best gift you could possibly get. And it's like
- 46:36Speaker 4: a smaller box. I'm like, all right, Like let's do it.
- 46:38Speaker 4: Meme's there also, so I'm fired up. Remember Christmas is
- 46:42Speaker 4: my birthday too, so I have extra juice to me
- 46:45Speaker 4: on this day. I open it up and in this
- 46:49Speaker 4: small box is just this baby Jesus figurine just sitting
- 46:54Speaker 4: in a manger. And that's it. I'm and I look
- 46:59Speaker 4: up and I'm just fighting back tears, and I'm like.
- 47:05Speaker 5: The thank you you were the hug.
- 47:07Speaker 3: My parents, they they looked at each other.
- 47:09Speaker 5: And they're like just praying for a new family all night.
- 47:12Speaker 3: They're like, Jay, you could open you could open another president.
- 47:14Speaker 4: You could open another president.
- 47:16Speaker 2: Water and watch it grow.
- 47:19Speaker 3: Jesus dude, my brothers are just dying laughing.
- 47:23Speaker 5: I was so heartbroken, an all time brother praying.
- 47:26Speaker 3: Man, I feel like you you'd be.
- 47:28Speaker 5: Lying if you wouldn't be in Jay's shoes, just like fighting,
- 47:31Speaker 5: just like the ugliest cry you've ever fell in your life.
- 47:35Speaker 4: Because I was, you know, and I'm probably like nine
- 47:36Speaker 4: years old, eight or nine, so Christmas.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Peak when the magic of Christmas just comes crashing.
- 47:43Speaker 4: Because they're also the ones, obviously that told me that
- 47:45Speaker 4: Santah wasn't real and that was so stupid. And I
- 47:50Speaker 4: had the most vivid dream of my life that one
- 47:53Speaker 4: of the reindeer got hurt in our front yard and
- 47:55Speaker 4: I went out there and helped it, and I saw
- 47:57Speaker 4: the sled and I have some movie, right, y'all know,
- 47:59Speaker 4: I have a great imagination and or a vivid imagination.
- 48:03Speaker 4: And I woke up the next morning. Tell the whole family, y'all,
- 48:06Speaker 4: won't believe what happened last night. Santa one of his
- 48:10Speaker 4: reindeer got hurt in our front yard. I went out there,
- 48:13Speaker 4: taped it up, and then they went off and my
- 48:16Speaker 4: brother yeah taped the akle and my brothers said, like, Jay,
- 48:19Speaker 4: that didn't happen.
- 48:21Speaker 3: How are you gonna tell me it didn't happen.
- 48:22Speaker 5: I was there.
- 48:24Speaker 4: Sanna's not real what I just saw him last night?
- 48:30Speaker 4: And Dad get all these presents. Why do you think
- 48:32Speaker 4: Santa's handwriting is the same as theirs? Why do you
- 48:34Speaker 4: think blah blah blah blah.
- 48:35Speaker 1: You know that.
- 48:35Speaker 4: I go to my parent, tell me it's not true.
- 48:37Speaker 4: They're telling me that Sanna, and they're like pissing my
- 48:40Speaker 4: brothers again. All that to say, my favorite Christmas gift
- 48:44Speaker 4: ever was a Sydney Rice game Cock football jersey. And
- 48:50Speaker 4: he was probably the first player I have like memory
- 48:53Speaker 4: of of being an all time like great, actual great
- 48:57Speaker 4: college football player, not just good at South Carolina. But
- 49:00Speaker 4: the best part about it was my parents got the
- 49:03Speaker 4: s Rice custom on the back of the jersey, just
- 49:06Speaker 4: how he had it on his jersey, and I remember
- 49:09Speaker 4: getting that and it was my first one, and I'm
- 49:11Speaker 4: just like man, this. There's no way there's ever going
- 49:14Speaker 4: to be a gift better than this one.
- 49:15Speaker 2: Is that when you wrote cocky Land.
- 49:17Speaker 4: Probably that was probably wrote cocky Land when we got
- 49:20Speaker 4: back from winter break.
- 49:22Speaker 3: That's sick.
- 49:23Speaker 4: That was sick.
- 49:24Speaker 1: My best gift was not like life changing, but it
- 49:28Speaker 1: was after we had opened like all of our Christmas
- 49:31Speaker 1: gifts from Santa and our parents. My parents are like, hey,
- 49:34Speaker 1: y'a should y'all should go stairs real quick, like in
- 49:37Speaker 1: the media room another thing.
- 49:39Speaker 4: They were like, hey, there that anticipation, like, wait, some
- 49:43Speaker 4: what's upstairs?
- 49:44Speaker 1: And we walk up and it is a And I
- 49:46Speaker 1: was maybe like eleven, and this is like the biggest
- 49:49Speaker 1: deal to me because I really wanted one of these things,
- 49:51Speaker 1: but I got three of them. It was a three
- 49:53Speaker 1: and one air hockey ping pong pole table.
- 49:57Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 49:57Speaker 1: And it was like like, look like it was not
- 50:00Speaker 1: perfect size for each of them, but I got each
- 50:02Speaker 1: of them. And I just remember I was so hyphe
- 50:05Speaker 1: because I just wanted to play air hockey and pink
- 50:07Speaker 1: pong all the time. And I remember like it was
- 50:10Speaker 1: magical on Christmas, and maybe for like the next two years,
- 50:13Speaker 1: I was like always convinced, Hey, come on, like, let's
- 50:15Speaker 1: try to convince people, let's go play peponge.
- 50:17Speaker 3: No one wanted to. I was like, I was pissed, dude,
- 50:19Speaker 3: I know, Bob, I want to play crowd.
- 50:22Speaker 4: It was.
- 50:22Speaker 1: It was awesome. And then like on the same Christmas
- 50:25Speaker 1: they're like, oh, in what's outside? We heard something hit
- 50:28Speaker 1: the roof last night, like Santa must have drop some toys,
- 50:30Speaker 1: and we'd go outside and for whatever reason, this was
- 50:33Speaker 1: also like huge for me. I had this in my room,
- 50:35Speaker 1: just gumball machines on the like big ass like those
- 50:38Speaker 1: big gumball machines like on the ground. They're like, oh,
- 50:40Speaker 1: he must have dropped those like on his way out.
- 50:42Speaker 1: So I got a gumball machine. I got pool, air hockey,
- 50:46Speaker 1: pink pong damn. So I was like, yeah, this is Christmas.
- 50:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't really know what my favorite would be, Derek,
- 50:55Speaker 3: do you have one? Yeah?
- 50:56Speaker 7: We had so two things. I'll say one. My parents
- 50:58Speaker 7: had a similar like open then before. But what they
- 51:00Speaker 7: would do is because me and my brother would wake
- 51:02Speaker 7: up at like five am, they would put a gift
- 51:04Speaker 7: in her room that Santa put in the room, and
- 51:07Speaker 7: so it's something that we could play with until they
- 51:09Speaker 7: woke up right sick by them.
- 51:12Speaker 6: Dude, the best gift I ever got was I remember.
- 51:14Speaker 3: I mean I was young.
- 51:15Speaker 7: I got the first game Boy game Mario game from Santa.
- 51:19Speaker 7: And I'm sitting there and I'm looking at all the gifts.
- 51:21Speaker 7: I opened everything, and my mom was like, that's so weird.
- 51:23Speaker 7: It didn't get you the thing to play it. We
- 51:26Speaker 7: go through her side of the family. I'm holding it
- 51:28Speaker 7: like as opening other people's gifts, like holding it, not
- 51:31Speaker 7: being able to play it the whole day for eight hours.
- 51:32Speaker 6: And they get to my dad's side.
- 51:34Speaker 7: My grandma got me the game Boy. My Mom's like,
- 51:36Speaker 7: thank goodness you kept it with you. Santa, kew your
- 51:39Speaker 7: grandma got the game Boy. I'm like, Santa's sick. Santa's
- 51:42Speaker 7: the man. I don't know how he talked to my grandma,
- 51:44Speaker 7: but this is dope, but I ripped that. The first
- 51:47Speaker 7: Mario like cartridge on game Boy was my favorite thing.
- 51:50Speaker 5: That's is there any everyone Everyone's don't.
- 51:54Speaker 2: I don't know what my favorite would be, but I
- 51:57Speaker 2: will shift it to I remember like I'm the oldest
- 52:02Speaker 2: sibling at one of the at my dad's house, and
- 52:05Speaker 2: I remember the Christmas that he kind of looked at
- 52:07Speaker 2: me and was like, hey, I'm gonna need your help
- 52:11Speaker 2: with the younger siblings, Like we gotta get it. Build
- 52:14Speaker 2: everything in the garage, build everything. Point I had I
- 52:20Speaker 2: had known, but now I was a part of you
- 52:24Speaker 2: were an elf.
- 52:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I wish I had gotten that far because they
- 52:27Speaker 1: didn't ask for my hope when.
- 52:29Speaker 3: It was Uh, I don't know.
- 52:30Speaker 2: I took a lot of pride in it, obviously, like
- 52:32Speaker 2: being the big bro, you're just like hell yeah, Like
- 52:35Speaker 2: I know that they're about to enjoy tomorrow so much. Uh.
- 52:39Speaker 2: But listening to all of that, like the creativity that
- 52:42Speaker 2: parents somehow come up with hearing Christmas is so impressive,
- 52:48Speaker 2: And the fact that you guys don't keep that up
- 52:51Speaker 2: yere around is kind of bullshit, but it it is
- 52:54Speaker 2: very impressive that they're like, what can we do? How
- 52:59Speaker 2: do we set up just enough inside that like leads
- 53:01Speaker 2: the trails to like wait, hold on, I need this though,
- 53:05Speaker 2: come outside. It's always been very impressive to me, and
- 53:09Speaker 2: so getting to help my dad do that was a
- 53:10Speaker 2: lot of fun. And then a couple of years ago,
- 53:13Speaker 2: maybe two years ago, my on my mom's side, my
- 53:18Speaker 2: stepdad's daughter, my sister Melssa has my niece Goldie, and
- 53:24Speaker 2: she was like, I need your help building stuff. And
- 53:28Speaker 2: we build, you know, like on the playground, like the
- 53:31Speaker 2: I'm gonna really fuck up what it's called, but like
- 53:33Speaker 2: you would climb on it. It's like a metal piece
- 53:36Speaker 2: on the playground. We'll put a reference photo up. But
- 53:42Speaker 2: we had to build this fucking thing in the freezing cold.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Oh hands not moving, not moving, and that's like, of
- 53:49Speaker 2: course the bolts are like this big.
- 53:51Speaker 4: I get mad at you.
- 53:53Speaker 2: She got Goldie got like an airplane that you could
- 53:56Speaker 2: sit in and like fly it. So we had to
- 53:58Speaker 2: build all these things made of me at all at
- 54:01Speaker 2: like seven pm, yeah, and like twenty something degree weather.
- 54:05Speaker 2: But I feel like those stuck out to me the most,
- 54:08Speaker 2: just because it's like I'm getting to give this to
- 54:11Speaker 2: my younger siblings or my nieces and nephews and then yeah,
- 54:15Speaker 2: just like the next day, you're just kind of like,
- 54:17Speaker 2: that's so sick that they believe this crazy thing that exists.
- 54:22Speaker 3: Like, do you have a favorite gift that you've given somebody? Anybody?
- 54:27Speaker 3: I have a favorite gift?
- 54:28Speaker 2: I have one and if I can get yeah, go ahead,
- 54:31Speaker 2: I'll think.
- 54:33Speaker 3: Favorite gift I gave somebody.
- 54:34Speaker 4: I got something I need to say later on too.
- 54:36Speaker 3: My it was my senior year football like that Christmas.
- 54:41Speaker 3: So I think if it's twenty nineteen Christmas, it was
- 54:44Speaker 3: twenty nineteen Christmas. Just finished my senior year football. I
- 54:47Speaker 3: got a game ball from my last game ever, from
- 54:51Speaker 3: like our bowl game. I went to the equipment man like, hey,
- 54:53Speaker 3: I need two balls from this game. I'm gonna give
- 54:57Speaker 3: him to my dad and uncle for uh Christmas. So
- 55:00Speaker 3: then I had my brother's girlfriend who had like nice handwriting.
- 55:04Speaker 3: I had her write down all of my stats, like
- 55:07Speaker 3: my career stats and all like punt return, wide receiver stats,
- 55:11Speaker 3: all that, I mean what. I wrote down everything that
- 55:14Speaker 3: she needed to write. I wrote down everything I needed
- 55:17Speaker 3: that she needed to write down on it, and like
- 55:19Speaker 3: got like a glass case for it and gave it
- 55:21Speaker 3: to my dad. He opened it immediately started crying, like
- 55:24Speaker 3: my mom was crying. I was crying. But it was
- 55:26Speaker 3: like just for whatever reason, a part like a gift
- 55:29Speaker 3: that just stood out, and it was like because like
- 55:31Speaker 3: now I'm done playing football, Like here's the last thing
- 55:34Speaker 3: from the last ball, like the last game I played
- 55:36Speaker 3: in with everything on it, Like now it's sitting on
- 55:38Speaker 3: his like dresser in his room, which is pretty cool.
- 55:41Speaker 3: That's badass.
- 55:42Speaker 2: I uh, mine's gonna be quick because I feel like
- 55:44Speaker 2: the anticipation of yours is amazing.
- 55:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:47Speaker 2: But my my favorite gift I gave my family again,
- 55:50Speaker 2: like Mom's side and Dad's side. It's a lot of people,
- 55:54Speaker 2: but I gave everyone a T shirt or sweatshirt with
- 55:58Speaker 2: my face on it.
- 55:59Speaker 3: That's probably my favorite gift.
- 56:02Speaker 4: Mine's not like a gift thing. Also, your thing just
- 56:05Speaker 4: made me think of I don't know if y'all saw
- 56:06Speaker 4: this TikTok video of there was this older brother. He
- 56:11Speaker 4: was definitely an old lineman in high school, and he's
- 56:15Speaker 4: like walking off the field for his last time to
- 56:17Speaker 4: his younger brother. And this the older brother is like
- 56:19Speaker 4: a bigger, heavier set dude. Hopefully he was a beast
- 56:22Speaker 4: all region, but didn't really look like it. And he's
- 56:27Speaker 4: walking off the field and he has his helmet and
- 56:30Speaker 4: he hands it to his little brother and puts his
- 56:32Speaker 4: hand on his shoulder and they like say something and
- 56:35Speaker 4: then the little brother like runs out onto the field
- 56:37Speaker 4: and the song is if today was your last day,
- 56:43Speaker 4: And it was so serious and I felt for those
- 56:46Speaker 4: brothers in that moment. But the thing I was going
- 56:49Speaker 4: to say, as we're talking about Santa and just the
- 56:54Speaker 4: magic of Christmas, there's there's a group of people, a
- 56:59Speaker 4: small pop population, hopefully it's a small population that exists
- 57:03Speaker 4: out there, and I think we're sanding ice after the
- 57:06Speaker 4: wrong people in this country. They need to be going
- 57:08Speaker 4: after these people. And it is the people that refuse
- 57:12Speaker 4: to tell their kids about Santa or they they tell
- 57:17Speaker 4: their kids.
- 57:18Speaker 1: Oh, they take like the moral high grounds.
- 57:20Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, I never want to lie to my kid,
- 57:22Speaker 4: so I'm not gonna let them believe in Santa. I
- 57:25Speaker 4: think those are actually the worst parents of all time
- 57:28Speaker 4: and they need to be investigated.
- 57:30Speaker 3: I feel like there's somebody you're talking about. No, not really,
- 57:33Speaker 3: because we're all almost thirty years old and we're talking
- 57:35Speaker 3: about like whoa, you're in your latter half year. I
- 57:39Speaker 3: get I get it.
- 57:40Speaker 5: You'll be at the uncion next year, don't you worry
- 57:42Speaker 5: for good?
- 57:43Speaker 3: I was twenty six, Like we're all at like old
- 57:44Speaker 3: enough now, older now, and we're like we talk about
- 57:47Speaker 3: like the magic of right saying that the magic of
- 57:49Speaker 3: Christmas and if that got ruined me when I was
- 57:51Speaker 3: five or six, years old, I'd be like, what the
- 57:54Speaker 3: fuck are we doing here? Yeah, all these kids are
- 57:56Speaker 3: so happy about ring and everything, and I'm like, i
- 57:58Speaker 3: have to be the bearer of bad news, and I'm
- 58:00Speaker 3: the grumpy the grinch, like, like, I'm with you, child Services.
- 58:06Speaker 5: I have one more thing, and it's It wasn't the
- 58:08Speaker 5: best gift I've ever given, but probably the funniest gift
- 58:11Speaker 5: I've received. And it took me years to come to
- 58:14Speaker 5: the conclusion that it is funny and I'm not upset.
- 58:17Speaker 5: But this was I don't know, probably three or four
- 58:20Speaker 5: years after my brother Jimmy had moved to Hawaii his
- 58:22Speaker 5: first Christmas home. So I'm making my big boy money
- 58:27Speaker 5: this time. So I'm like, I'm gonna get him something good,
- 58:29Speaker 5: something practical. I got him this awesome beach umbrella that
- 58:33Speaker 5: had a really cool design from a company that he liked.
- 58:35Speaker 5: It was like three hundred bucks, which was way too
- 58:37Speaker 5: expensively buying. When you have three siblings, a brother in law, parents,
- 58:41Speaker 5: it's like you got to keep, you know, financially responsible
- 58:44Speaker 5: gifts flowing. So I give him that and he's like, oh, dude, thanks,
- 58:47Speaker 5: and you can just see it in his eyes opening
- 58:49Speaker 5: it being like, oh shit, like I didn't get this.
- 58:52Speaker 5: Either he got me something of much lesser value or
- 58:55Speaker 5: he didn't give me something at all. So James disappears
- 58:58Speaker 5: upstairs and it's not like Key's up next to give
- 59:01Speaker 5: me mine. So he comes down and like he kind
- 59:03Speaker 5: of like runs into a different room, like dude worldbing gifts,
- 59:06Speaker 5: Like what's this dude doing? He comes down, he's like, Jack,
- 59:08Speaker 5: here's your gift, Like, toss it to me, and it's
- 59:10Speaker 5: clearly in the shape of a ball, and I unwrap
- 59:13Speaker 5: it to see my first ever game ball that I
- 59:16Speaker 5: got in T ball that was up in my room
- 59:18Speaker 5: on a trophy. He took a sharpie and signed his
- 59:21Speaker 5: name and gave it to me. My whole my whole
- 59:25Speaker 5: family lost their minds and I am fuming, acting like
- 59:30Speaker 5: the ball like still meet, like you know, but I
- 59:33Speaker 5: was like, I was like, I was more pissed that
- 59:36Speaker 5: I spent so much money on him and he was waiting,
- 59:38Speaker 5: defiled like one of my childhood memnto's, I was like,
- 59:42Speaker 5: And then looking back on it, it's like, honestly one
- 59:44Speaker 5: of the funnier things that's ever been done. But so
- 59:47Speaker 5: I guess it's a lesson, Like don't buy your family.
- 59:51Speaker 2: I thought I thought you were gonna tell the story
- 59:53Speaker 2: when you were just handing out bread to the to
- 59:55Speaker 2: the family.
- 59:56Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah. That was like two or three years ago.
- 59:59Speaker 5: I think it was like after one of my first
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: Dagas trips, and like I was just lacking on Christmas
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: presents and it just hit me with like four days
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: and I was like, dude, fuck this. I let everyone
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: give their gifts out and I just pulled out six
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: hundred dollars and I just go, here's one hundred for years.
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: And then I gave a hundred to my niece who
- 1:00:15Speaker 5: wasn't I had just turned one, and I was like,
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: here you go. And like, honestly, I feel like they
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: were probably like, yeah, we love this, but.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: Dude, cash is king Cash's that.
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: Did like two or three years ago. My dad he
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: got zero stocking stuff for gifts for my mom, and
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: the Christmas night he went in my mom. He went
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: in his stocking that my mom had packed, took everything out,
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: put a different sticker on it that says two Mom
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: from Dad. We get there. The next morning he gets
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: his stock and he's like, you really didn't get me anything, Diane.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: She's like what are you talking about? I filled this
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: whole thing. And then she starts opening all these gifts.
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: She's like, I got I got this for you. He's like, well,
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: I don't see anything, like it's crazy. And then finally
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: at the end she's like, wait a second, these are
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: all of my gifts. And it was so fun that Yeah, we.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: All in agree, and so that stocking gifts are sometimes
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: low key the best present you get.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: They're the ones who use the most, like.
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: I don't know, gift cards, some sort of like little
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: gag thing.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd always get I love my stocking.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Me and Ca would always get like a pack of
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: football cards and ours, and that was I like look
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: forward to opening that the most. I was like, all right,
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna go put it back. Christmas over the stocking
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: is the best I.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: Growing up, it was like, okay, whatever, we're gonna cram
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: these the stockings as fool as we can get them.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: So in my brain I was like, I'm gonna go
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: buy the biggest stocking I can find. So I everyone
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: has like matching stockings and I have this enormous stocking
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: because I was like, I don't like I love what
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: goes into stocking more than most of the other things.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: So let me just going up my stocking game. It's
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: like so funny.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: It's pretty epic though. I saw another video of that.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: Somebody had like one of these big balloon.
- 1:02:05Speaker 4: It wasn't a pinata, but it was serving the same
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: purpose and it was going to get popped, and all
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: the kids were standing underneath it. And then the last second,
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: right before somebody pops it, one of the bigger kids
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: comes in and just holds his shirt out it pops,
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: almost all the candy falls into it, and he just
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: takes off running for a gringe.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: Grine for sure, Derek, you got one.
- 1:02:29Speaker 6: Gift I given?
- 1:02:30Speaker 7: Yeah, Yeah, I'm trying to think through it because, like
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: I give some pretty intentional ones that I like, I
- 1:02:35Speaker 7: can't think of one that I've given off the top.
- 1:02:36Speaker 7: But one thing I will say that I was thinking
- 1:02:38Speaker 7: about is how, like my mom broke to me Santa
- 1:02:41Speaker 7: wasn't real is she made me watch a video Like
- 1:02:44Speaker 7: she showed me this video of a It was like
- 1:02:46Speaker 7: a story. So it's just a video of a guy
- 1:02:48Speaker 7: talking about like pictures, but it was basically about a
- 1:02:49Speaker 7: kid going up to his grandpa being like Grandpa tell
- 1:02:52Speaker 7: me is Santa Lana, And the Grandpa's like, come with me,
- 1:02:53Speaker 7: and they go to the store and they bought like
- 1:02:55Speaker 7: a pack of diapers and like kid stuff, and then
- 1:02:57Speaker 7: they went to a house that the kid had no
- 1:02:59Speaker 7: idea who was on the door, left the basket and
- 1:03:01Speaker 7: ran to the car and watched and outwalked a brand
- 1:03:04Speaker 7: like a pregnant woman and a husband, and they looked
- 1:03:06Speaker 7: down and saw the basket like looking around in one away,
- 1:03:08Speaker 7: and the Grandpa's like, there might not be a bearded man,
- 1:03:10Speaker 7: but that is Santa Claus. And so just like I
- 1:03:13Speaker 7: don't even know if a gift I got, but I've
- 1:03:15Speaker 7: always held that close because I'm like to your point
- 1:03:16Speaker 7: about like people that say, like I'm making this about Jesus.
- 1:03:19Speaker 7: I grew up thinking baby Jesus and Santa, we're homies.
- 1:03:22Speaker 7: Like I assumed Christianity and Santa were one and the
- 1:03:25Speaker 7: same Santa. That's what I thought, And so I'm the same.
- 1:03:28Speaker 7: You can take those people out back, But yeah, that's
- 1:03:31Speaker 7: a given a gift.
- 1:03:32Speaker 6: No, I just I like to give gifts. I think
- 1:03:34Speaker 6: it's fun, but I try to make it personal, being.
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: Like a VHS tape like show to Derek when he's eight.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: Yeah, basically I have a I have a funny one.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: It's not like the best gift I've given. I don't
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: I think it's funny. My brother and my dad are
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: Cowboys fans. I'm a Cardinals fan. We always not really anymore.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Unfortunately for me, we used to a few years ago
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: argue like Kyler Murray, Verus, Dak Prescott, and I just
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: thought it'd be so funny for Christmas. I got them
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: a normal gift, so like this was not their gift.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: But like, after it's all down, I was like, hey, y'all,
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: look up on TV. I got a what's it called
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: when you can pay for someone to cameo? A cameo?
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: And I was not going to sholl out for this cameo. Y'all,
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: this this friend of the show cameo. I think I
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: got Dean Blandino to basically just eviscerate that argument like
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: for me and like just say, like Kyler so much better,
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: like Bobby and camp y'ar are dumb, Like that's I
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: still have the video on my phone, but I just
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: I was like you heard it, Like I was like,
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Merry Christmas.
- 1:04:34Speaker 7: He do a good job at yours because he did
- 1:04:36Speaker 7: a fantasy league for me once and the guy he
- 1:04:38Speaker 7: would had notes for everybody, and he goes, oh, it's six.
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: That's Timmy. Timmy just got married.
- 1:04:43Speaker 7: Well, I'm going through a divorce Timmy, so good, look
- 1:04:45Speaker 7: at yours and went on for a forty five second
- 1:04:48Speaker 7: rant about his divorce and we're like.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: Who's pick five?
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: I kind of told I gave him a prompt. I
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: remember he started it off. I can show I can
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: send it in the group chat. He starts it off
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: watching like Larry Fitzgerald Highlight, like Lake Career, like Kyler
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: through Passion Larry fits He's like, oh, sorry, I didn't
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: see there, and then he starts arguing about like why
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: Kyler's better, and I'm like, yeah, this.
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: Is the guy.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: This is the this is the referee guy, like that's
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: head official. That's funny. Shout out Dean Blanding Man, how
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: long we've been going?
- 1:05:20Speaker 6: Hour in six minutes?
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: You feel good? Feel great? You want to take us
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: out on a song? Yeah? This will be our last
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: episode of the year as we're off the next semi
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: we're moving to Netflix. Guys, so I believe first episode
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: of the new year we have our big guest. Something
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: schedules got conflicted this week, so unfortunately we were able
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: to have him on. But I believe I'd like to
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: think the next beginning of the year we will have
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: a guest for you guys. But what song we want
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: to sing?
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Just not true sting on it because we Jack Frost
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: sniffing at your nas All right, what do you want
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: to say?
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: Dude? I just want to do keep it, Play the heads,
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: jingle bells, dun't sit up, dum.
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: Oh night.
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: That's all we got for you. Thirty Merry Christmas, christ
