- 2:03Speaker 6: on out at saying all the scariest thing I've seen
- 2:05Speaker 6: in a while with Steve Animal from her sister station
- 2:08Speaker 6: ninety eight to seven of the Mountain Wild, a wonderful classic.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Why he ain't doing Buddy, I'm good, I'm good. Why
- 2:12Speaker 3: are you here? Why you asked me to be here?
- 2:15Speaker 7: Okaypefully, my friend Jamie from Scareview is with me and
- 2:19Speaker 7: we're broadcasting live there Friday night, and we'll be back
- 2:22Speaker 7: there again throughout the month of October. We'll wrap it
- 2:26Speaker 7: up Halloween night, which is kind of cool. And we've
- 2:28Speaker 7: been giving away tickets on the other stations in the
- 2:31Speaker 7: family here and uh yeah, I always have fun because
- 2:35Speaker 7: Jamie dresses up, he's in character. I mean he's even
- 2:37Speaker 7: gone to show us a visual see he's even really
- 2:42Speaker 7: living the party.
- 2:43Speaker 3: You know this is radio, right, Steve, they can't see that. Man,
- 2:46Speaker 3: You're just gonna have to come up to Scareview that Jamie.
- 2:49Speaker 3: How you doing, Muddy, I'm good?
- 2:51Speaker 8: How you doing great?
- 2:51Speaker 5: To be here?
- 2:52Speaker 3: How's how's it been so far?
- 2:54Speaker 8: It's been great? All right?
- 2:55Speaker 3: Now, and remind people where it is.
- 2:57Speaker 8: High Street in Saint Oleans all right.
- 2:59Speaker 6: And so you got underway on you did one on
- 3:02Speaker 6: September the twenty seventh, at end, you did October third, fourth, tenth,
- 3:05Speaker 6: and eleventh, and you're back again this Friday and Saturday night,
- 3:08Speaker 6: the following Friday and Saturday night.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Then back on Halloween night, right sir? All right?
- 3:11Speaker 6: And see if you were out there broadcasting live on
- 3:13Speaker 6: the Mountain Friday night, how was that?
- 3:15Speaker 3: It is awesome?
- 3:15Speaker 7: Like this place, what are we in now?
- 3:17Speaker 8: What year is this seventeenth year? I believe?
- 3:19Speaker 3: Yeah, which is crazy?
- 3:20Speaker 7: And this thing during so you get there like if
- 3:23Speaker 7: you went last year, as you walked through the place,
- 3:25Speaker 7: got scared white yourself like some people.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Did well at your age, Steve, that happened.
- 3:31Speaker 7: Yeah, come on by the mountain table. I have some
- 3:33Speaker 7: dependent for you there and I'll sign them.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Oh, there we go.
- 3:37Speaker 6: Did you seriously have someone without going in all the details, Jamie,
- 3:40Speaker 6: but did you really have someone who?
- 3:42Speaker 8: Yes? Oh yeah, okay, that's an every night thing.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Every night that happens.
- 3:47Speaker 7: Yeah, And it's funny because like they get you. You know,
- 3:50Speaker 7: you're lined up outside, You're not just standing there, You're
- 3:52Speaker 7: actually being entertained the entire time, which some of the creatures.
- 3:58Speaker 7: The critter is my favorite, you know, but that you're
- 4:02Speaker 7: in shock and ah, but about the house, it's really
- 4:05Speaker 7: neat because these guys spend a lot of time in
- 4:07Speaker 7: the off season. Money is going to the volunteer West
- 4:10Speaker 7: Side Volunteer Fire departments, sir. And but it changes like
- 4:15Speaker 7: it's it's a house that changes itself. You walk into
- 4:17Speaker 7: one room this year and me, look like this next
- 4:19Speaker 7: year doesn't look anything like it did the year. You
- 4:22Speaker 7: think it's like, oh, yeah, I've been here before. I know,
- 4:24Speaker 7: Oh this is not the same place, right.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Yeah. So Jamie, have you been involved in this since
- 4:29Speaker 3: day one? Since the very beginning? And it goes back
- 4:30Speaker 3: to two thousand and eight, I think you said.
- 4:33Speaker 6: What was it that appealed to you or the organizers
- 4:36Speaker 6: from the very beginning? Where did this idea actually come from?
- 4:39Speaker 9: It's like their idea was it was a cross between
- 4:42Speaker 9: West Side and the Tornado Volunteer Fire Department.
- 4:45Speaker 6: Okay, all right, And but has this been something that
- 4:47Speaker 6: that you personally, because in order the people that do
- 4:50Speaker 6: these sorts of haunted trails, haunted houses, whatever the case
- 4:53Speaker 6: may be, it's somebody that's got a love of that
- 4:55Speaker 6: sort of thing to begin with, so it'll be genuine.
- 4:57Speaker 9: Yeah, I've been a junkie since I was thirteen or
- 4:59Speaker 9: fourteen year years old.
- 5:01Speaker 6: Talk about some of your experiences growing up, some places
- 5:03Speaker 6: that you may have gone, like different trails and stuff.
- 5:06Speaker 9: House to one of the trails to see Cato Park
- 5:08Speaker 9: was a big one when I was growing up.
- 5:11Speaker 8: The Myers House, which a lot of people don't remember.
- 5:13Speaker 8: It was in St.
- 5:13Speaker 9: Albans and they actually put f live chainsaws through walls there,
- 5:17Speaker 9: which was crazy.
- 5:19Speaker 3: They can't do that anymore.
- 5:21Speaker 8: Well, it depends.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Is that word again?
- 5:26Speaker 8: There there's so many.
- 5:28Speaker 9: I mean we go to a trade show every year
- 5:30Speaker 9: out in Missouri and Saint Louis and you get the
- 5:32Speaker 9: you get to meet up with all the people that's
- 5:35Speaker 9: into industry. So it's just it's a love it's a
- 5:39Speaker 9: love hate relationship.
- 5:40Speaker 7: It's actually an industry like it is evolved into. It
- 5:44Speaker 7: took over Christmas, yeah, it had. I mean they even
- 5:47Speaker 7: had had loast. I mean there was Halloween stuff out
- 5:50Speaker 7: on the fourth of July. I'm just like, really, here
- 5:52Speaker 7: we go and it's amazing.
- 5:54Speaker 6: I mean this event, you know too, and every year
- 5:57Speaker 6: somebody pops up different you know, we're gonna try to
- 5:59Speaker 6: do a honted house, and god lesson for all trying
- 6:00Speaker 6: to do that, but very few stand the test of
- 6:03Speaker 6: time because it's you know, these things run on volunteers
- 6:06Speaker 6: and nobody gets paid anything, and so people just burn
- 6:11Speaker 6: out and so on and so forth. But you guys
- 6:12Speaker 6: must enjoy what you're doing to have done it since
- 6:14Speaker 6: two thousand and eight.
- 6:16Speaker 8: I have a dedicated group that helps me.
- 6:18Speaker 6: How many people, roughly does it take to pull this off?
- 6:20Speaker 8: Because this year was about eight of us.
- 6:24Speaker 6: Okay, all right, and that's and not only are you
- 6:27Speaker 6: giving up you know, your your time, but many of
- 6:30Speaker 6: you are giving up your dollars and so on and
- 6:32Speaker 6: so forth, and your skills to be able to put
- 6:34Speaker 6: these things on.
- 6:36Speaker 8: Yes, yeah, like I said, the eight, the eight that
- 6:39Speaker 8: was just builders.
- 6:40Speaker 9: We have over one hundred volunteers right now, actor wise
- 6:43Speaker 9: and everything else.
- 6:44Speaker 6: So how many how many actors? If I go out,
- 6:46Speaker 6: let's say, on Friday night, now, how many approximately, how
- 6:48Speaker 6: many actors are going to be there?
- 6:50Speaker 8: Fifteen?
- 6:50Speaker 3: Is that what you call them as actors? Okay?
- 6:53Speaker 6: And what and we don't want to give too much
- 6:54Speaker 6: away on the air, but what what can people expect
- 6:57Speaker 6: when they come out, we'll just leave it at that
- 7:01Speaker 6: and crying and apparently you're a nation.
- 7:02Speaker 8: But to get scared, I don't know.
- 7:04Speaker 7: Yeah, some people laugh, some people cry. I mean, it's
- 7:07Speaker 7: a roller coaster of emotions. But it's uh, you know,
- 7:10Speaker 7: everybody going into it is just there to have a
- 7:13Speaker 7: good time. And that's what it's there for too, not
- 7:15Speaker 7: only entertainment, but again raising some good money for a
- 7:18Speaker 7: good crew that needs the money. The West Side Volunteer
- 7:21Speaker 7: Fire Department, and they're there on hand to lend a hand.
- 7:25Speaker 7: They fire up the grill for those that are volunteering,
- 7:28Speaker 7: which is very cool. So and if you want to
- 7:30Speaker 7: be an actor, maybe you want to come out and
- 7:32Speaker 7: see what it's about.
- 7:32Speaker 8: Yeah, come find me and I'll sign you all right.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Hang out with you. Here's one second.
- 7:36Speaker 6: Dave Valan Chilling five eighty Live is brought to you
- 7:38Speaker 6: parted by Husband's Pizza. This month, get a large at
- 7:40Speaker 6: and Itch Pepperoni pizza and to order of fifty centm
- 7:43Speaker 6: and Bites twenty ninety nine. Find your closest Hustans for delivery.
- 7:46Speaker 6: Pug Upper dined in at Huston's Pizza dot com. It's
- 7:48Speaker 6: speaking of food as I was. One of the things
- 7:50Speaker 6: I like about what you guys do here is you're
- 7:53Speaker 6: pricing on the tickets. You're encouraging people to bring out
- 7:56Speaker 6: nonperishable food. Food out Jamie talking about you get.
- 7:58Speaker 9: Two bucks off your make at price of twelve dollars
- 8:01Speaker 9: goes to Christ Kitchens and a couple of other local
- 8:03Speaker 9: food banks right there and them.
- 8:05Speaker 6: And it doesn't necessarily you don't have to bring like
- 8:07Speaker 6: cases of or anything like that, just a couple of
- 8:09Speaker 6: cans here and there.
- 8:10Speaker 8: You could bring a can to cans whatever you feel like.
- 8:12Speaker 9: Yeah, we filled up a couple of trailers so far
- 8:15Speaker 9: on Christ Kitchens and stuff.
- 8:17Speaker 7: Early is and you know, it doesn't take anything to
- 8:20Speaker 7: help people out. And this this is what this thing
- 8:23Speaker 7: is about anyway.
- 8:24Speaker 9: So everything goes back into the community, yeah, one way
- 8:27Speaker 9: or another.
- 8:28Speaker 6: And the voluntary, as you said, with people that come
- 8:30Speaker 6: out and volunteer for this sort of thing, You've got
- 8:32Speaker 6: to be a certain kind of person that wants to
- 8:34Speaker 6: do this because you never know what the reaction of
- 8:39Speaker 6: certain people is going to be. Some people are going
- 8:42Speaker 6: to come through, just like with any other thing, like
- 8:44Speaker 6: some people are going to come through and they're gonna
- 8:45Speaker 6: be like, uh okay, and then there's going to be
- 8:47Speaker 6: other people that are all because I volunteered and done
- 8:51Speaker 6: haunted houses years and one hundred years.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Ago we did one.
- 8:54Speaker 6: And you have those people that come in usually usually
- 8:57Speaker 6: team boys, you know, or young guys you know nothing
- 9:00Speaker 6: bothers me.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Yeah, get back with me in about five minutes.
- 9:03Speaker 8: Those are the ones that you want.
- 9:06Speaker 6: Talk about the age appropriateness for this, because sometimes people
- 9:10Speaker 6: will say, well, it's I mean, you know your kid
- 9:13Speaker 6: better than anybody does.
- 9:14Speaker 3: We'll start with that.
- 9:15Speaker 6: Not all kids are going to be the same, but yeah,
- 9:18Speaker 6: but is there an age like that.
- 9:19Speaker 9: There's there's no age, there's nothing there, there's no requirement.
- 9:23Speaker 9: If you feel like that they can go.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Through then, but they do have to be accompanied by
- 9:28Speaker 3: most Yes. Yeah.
- 9:29Speaker 7: So there was a like a three year old who
- 9:31Speaker 7: came out, went through the thing and came out kind
- 9:34Speaker 7: of crying, and I had like low bracelets and stuff
- 9:37Speaker 7: at the mountain table and gave her one. It's like,
- 9:40Speaker 7: oh okay, shiny objects. Yeah, completely gone, you know, just
- 9:43Speaker 7: happy and on her way she went.
- 9:46Speaker 3: So it was kind of fun.
- 9:47Speaker 9: So if you come up and you say, like if
- 9:49Speaker 9: if you have like a five or six year old.
- 9:51Speaker 9: You paid to get in. We have what we call
- 9:52Speaker 9: a chicken line. Once you get past that line, you're
- 9:54Speaker 9: not getting your money back. Okay, the chicken line once
- 9:59Speaker 9: you once you, once you get in, and if they
- 10:02Speaker 9: decide that they can't do it or don't want to
- 10:04Speaker 9: do it before they get in the door, we try
- 10:05Speaker 9: our best to get them through there.
- 10:08Speaker 8: We'll go through.
- 10:09Speaker 9: Tell our actors not to scare them.
- 10:11Speaker 8: We'll walk through as characters.
- 10:13Speaker 9: You know you want to go through with one of
- 10:14Speaker 9: the scariest people here, Come on, we'll go We've even
- 10:18Speaker 9: turned the lights back on for people before.
- 10:19Speaker 3: How long does it take to go through?
- 10:23Speaker 5: Saturday?
- 10:23Speaker 9: We timed a group at twenty five minutes, but they
- 10:25Speaker 9: were flat out running.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Okay.
- 10:28Speaker 8: The longest we've had has been fifty minutes so far.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Okay, all right? And how many do you take back
- 10:33Speaker 3: at a time?
- 10:34Speaker 8: Ten? Ten or so ten to a group, usually eight
- 10:37Speaker 8: to ten.
- 10:38Speaker 9: And you come in. As you come in, there's two
- 10:40Speaker 9: groups in the building. You get the rules. Then we
- 10:43Speaker 9: send one group in and we put one group in
- 10:45Speaker 9: what we call chicken coop, and you get you get
- 10:47Speaker 9: tormented for five minutes or so.
- 10:49Speaker 6: Okay, in the dark right, and then again this is
- 10:54Speaker 6: all it's all community based. It all helps out the
- 10:57Speaker 6: West Side Fire Department, and of course you're helping out
- 10:59Speaker 6: christ Kitchen with the nonperishable food items as well.
- 11:02Speaker 3: There's a is there a social media people can go
- 11:04Speaker 3: to and take a look at it. And you're gonna
- 11:06Speaker 3: give away too much on social media, I know, but
- 11:07Speaker 3: go ahead.
- 11:07Speaker 8: But one other thing too.
- 11:09Speaker 9: Yeah, all of our actors, if they're like college, high school,
- 11:12Speaker 9: or middle school, they all get volunteer community.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Which is required to graduate.
- 11:16Speaker 6: Yeah, exactly, it's not the kind of community service you
- 11:19Speaker 6: got Steve yours.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Yours was court ordered.
- 11:21Speaker 8: The funny thing is that's how I met Steve. Really,
- 11:24Speaker 8: we were on the same chain game.
- 11:26Speaker 6: You had to go there, Stephen, Steve and his mom
- 11:29Speaker 6: were on the same chain game there together. It's it's
- 11:31Speaker 6: lovely when families come together like that.
- 11:33Speaker 3: You can't wait for the holidays, all.
- 11:34Speaker 6: Right, So you got this next, you got this coming
- 11:37Speaker 6: Friday and Saturday, the following Friday and Saturday, and then
- 11:40Speaker 6: on Halloween night. That's got to be because Halloween is
- 11:42Speaker 6: on a Friday this year. So that's after you and
- 11:46Speaker 6: what are your hours? By the way, I need to.
- 11:47Speaker 8: Mention the dusk till midnight.
- 11:50Speaker 9: We sell the last ticket at midnight and we stay
- 11:52Speaker 9: until we get the last group through.
- 11:53Speaker 7: All right, all right, and one more thing, uh scare
- 11:56Speaker 7: of you. We'll fire up the halls again December fifth
- 11:59Speaker 7: for cramp.
- 12:00Speaker 8: Oh yeah, we've not done we've never done the Crampus before.
- 12:03Speaker 6: We think the last time you were here last year,
- 12:05Speaker 6: you talked about plans for that, that you'd like to
- 12:07Speaker 6: do that.
- 12:08Speaker 3: So what's up?
- 12:08Speaker 6: And we'll have you on before then to talk about it,
- 12:10Speaker 6: but give us a brief preview what that's going to.
- 12:12Speaker 9: Be December fifth and sixth, which is actually the German
- 12:15Speaker 9: holiday at Crumpingstone.
- 12:17Speaker 8: It's going to be a holiday haunt.
- 12:19Speaker 9: The price goes up just a little bit more, and
- 12:21Speaker 9: we don't take can donations. We're taking toy donations, okay,
- 12:25Speaker 9: instead to get your two dollars off your tickets.
- 12:28Speaker 6: All right, but we'll have you on before down now
- 12:30Speaker 6: you were you were here this past Friday night?
- 12:32Speaker 3: Or are we back out there again?
- 12:34Speaker 7: We'll be there Halloween Hollow. We'll be back.
- 12:36Speaker 6: You'll be back up there Halloween night broadcasting live. All right,
- 12:39Speaker 6: Steve and I had a good time this weekend we
- 12:41Speaker 6: were over on the West Side all day and evening
- 12:44Speaker 6: Saturday evening.

- 12:54Speaker 3: So that's what we do. But Jamie, I appreciate you

- 15:45Speaker 6: I want to welcome to the show now, Lisa Odi,
- 15:48Speaker 6: good morning, Welcome to the show.
- 15:49Speaker 14: Hey, good morning, Dave. Thanks for having me.
- 15:51Speaker 6: Thank your knock your microphone down a little bit. You're
- 15:53Speaker 6: a bit louder than what the other gal was.
- 15:55Speaker 14: I don't want to be too late.
- 15:57Speaker 3: You're fine.
- 15:57Speaker 6: Of course, you're on the Let's Talk podcast with Carly,
- 16:01Speaker 6: but you make appearances on there.
- 16:02Speaker 3: We are that here.
- 16:03Speaker 6: It's not only a podcast but also air it on
- 16:05Speaker 6: the air as well. But now you want to be
- 16:06Speaker 6: a member of the Kanawha County Board of Education. Yeah
- 16:09Speaker 6: all right, so before we get into why you're doing that,
- 16:12Speaker 6: give us the bio and Lisa Odie okay.
- 16:15Speaker 15: Well, Dave, I'm from eastern Kanac County. I grew up
- 16:18Speaker 15: in Bell, West Virginia, attended Bell Elementary in DuPont High School,
- 16:23Speaker 15: went on to attend State College and Marshall to obtain
- 16:27Speaker 15: my bachelor's and master's degree. And then, of course I
- 16:31Speaker 15: was hired by kennaw County Schools and I served a
- 16:34Speaker 15: variety of positions with them over my thirty five year tenure.
- 16:38Speaker 15: I started as a preschool teacher, was a kindergarten teacher,
- 16:41Speaker 15: a librarian, a technician, a reading interventionist, and then the
- 16:46Speaker 15: last six years of my career, I was a reading specialist.
- 16:50Speaker 3: And that means you did everything. Would drive the bus
- 16:52Speaker 3: at this point, right, I could.
- 16:53Speaker 15: I could have probably driven the bus as well, Dave.
- 16:55Speaker 15: But yeah, that last position that I served in for
- 16:58Speaker 15: the last seven years of my career with a county schools,
- 17:01Speaker 15: what's the one that really brought to my attention. You know,
- 17:05Speaker 15: the whole county. I was able to serve K twelve.
- 17:07Speaker 15: I was able to serve you know, all students. I
- 17:10Speaker 15: serve families, I serve teachers and staff individually, and I
- 17:14Speaker 15: learned a lot about the school system and you know,
- 17:16Speaker 15: some of the things that they may need or not
- 17:19Speaker 15: need to be successful in the future.
- 17:22Speaker 6: So with your background, having done everything that you did
- 17:24Speaker 6: within the school system, yes, they're there. What kind of
- 17:27Speaker 6: a I don't want to say advantage, that's not well, okay,
- 17:30Speaker 6: I'll say advantage. I mean, what kind of experiences did
- 17:33Speaker 6: did you learn or did you take part in there, Lisa,
- 17:35Speaker 6: that you think will make you a good member of
- 17:37Speaker 6: the canaw County Board of Education.
- 17:39Speaker 15: Well, I feel like Dave, We've got a great board
- 17:41Speaker 15: that sitting board right now. But a lot of them
- 17:44Speaker 15: come from business backgrounds, a lot of them come from
- 17:46Speaker 15: the administrative side of things in the school system. I'm
- 17:49Speaker 15: coming fresh from the trenches. I just retired. Like I said,
- 17:52Speaker 15: I had the myriad of positions when I worked in
- 17:56Speaker 15: the county, and I feel like those are advantages because
- 18:00Speaker 15: I can see through the eyes of the students because
- 18:02Speaker 15: I worked with them individually. I can see through the
- 18:03Speaker 15: eyes of the families that I worked with, you know,
- 18:05Speaker 15: in meetings and in emails and phone calls.
- 18:08Speaker 5: You know.
- 18:09Speaker 15: I can also see through the eyes of the teachers
- 18:11Speaker 15: and stuff, because you know, I worked with those people
- 18:13Speaker 15: as well. So I feel like just the point of
- 18:15Speaker 15: view that I'm bringing to the board would be valuable.
- 18:18Speaker 6: Talking again with Lisa Odie, who's going to be a
- 18:19Speaker 6: candidate for a board of education in Kanawa count Even
- 18:22Speaker 6: Dave Allen showing five dyline broad toom parted by the
- 18:24Speaker 6: All New Generations board of Hurricane check out Generations for
- 18:27Speaker 6: dot Com. Now there's you know a lot of people
- 18:28Speaker 6: get these ideas for political office, whether it's board or whatever,
- 18:32Speaker 6: and they say, well, you know, I think I could
- 18:33Speaker 6: do it.
- 18:34Speaker 3: I really I've got a passion for this, and I'm
- 18:37Speaker 3: sure you do, but it's got.
- 18:39Speaker 6: To go, you know a little bit beyond that, How
- 18:41Speaker 6: difficult was to talk about your decision making progress to
- 18:45Speaker 6: decide to make the run for Ward of Education?
- 18:47Speaker 14: Okay, it was a back and forth battle. You know.
- 18:50Speaker 15: There were some events that led up to it that
- 18:52Speaker 15: kind of pushed me in this direction, but overall I
- 18:56Speaker 15: kind of went back and forth because I thought to myself,
- 18:59Speaker 15: you know, I want to be some someone that's an
- 19:01Speaker 15: advocate for the students and families in Kanah County as
- 19:04Speaker 15: well as the staff. The political climate in public schools
- 19:09Speaker 15: definitely is changing.
- 19:11Speaker 14: You're seeing, you.
- 19:11Speaker 15: Know, a push for the for the you know, Hope Scholarship,
- 19:14Speaker 15: and that's kind of you know, it's kind of a
- 19:17Speaker 15: balancing act between funding your public schools and also being
- 19:21Speaker 15: able to fund those families who choose to you know,
- 19:24Speaker 15: private school their or homeschool their their children. And so
- 19:27Speaker 15: I feel like I could be a voice of reason
- 19:30Speaker 15: going into this position, kind of seeing all sides and
- 19:34Speaker 15: trying to you know, bring everybody to the table so
- 19:37Speaker 15: that we can kind of figure out a way that
- 19:38Speaker 15: this works for every single student in West Virginia.
- 19:41Speaker 6: Excuse me, and will I will say this. You bring
- 19:44Speaker 6: up a very good point across across the nation, and
- 19:48Speaker 6: especially in West Virginia and Kanawha County is not not
- 19:52Speaker 6: unique in this parents are choosing for one reason or another.
- 19:56Speaker 6: They're choosing aspects other than quote unquote traditional of public schools.
- 20:01Speaker 6: Whether it's and I'm talking about traditional, whether it's charter schools,
- 20:05Speaker 6: whether it's homeschooling, whether it's scholars or whatever the case
- 20:07Speaker 6: may be. They're choosing other things. And you know that's
- 20:11Speaker 6: not necessarily a good thing or a bad thing, depends
- 20:13Speaker 6: on your unique position.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Where are you on that.
- 20:16Speaker 14: I mean, I think every family has a right to choose.
- 20:18Speaker 15: I think where we have to figure out the answers
- 20:20Speaker 15: is we have to make sure that the funding for
- 20:23Speaker 15: public schools are also in place. Every single student. It's
- 20:26Speaker 15: not my kids, it's not your kids. These are all
- 20:29Speaker 15: our kids, and we need to ensure that every single
- 20:31Speaker 15: child in West Virginia has an opportunity for the best
- 20:34Speaker 15: education possible. And so we have to figure out a
- 20:37Speaker 15: way to get this funding worked out so that all
- 20:39Speaker 15: students have an opportunity to do that.
- 20:42Speaker 6: And it's been said, Lisa, and I know, one member
- 20:46Speaker 6: of a board of education can't necessarily change this, but
- 20:49Speaker 6: it's been said that in West Virginia that we aren't
- 20:52Speaker 6: producing students that are ready for the world. And again,
- 20:57Speaker 6: one board member is not going to, you know, change
- 20:59Speaker 6: that that much. Sure, But I mean, where have we
- 21:04Speaker 6: It's a million dollar question. But but but but where
- 21:07Speaker 6: have we? Where have we gone off the rails now?
- 21:09Speaker 6: I will say I had Conaw County School Superintendent to
- 21:12Speaker 6: doctor Paul Potter on the show on Metro News Midday
- 21:14Speaker 6: on Friday, and she talked about the one school in
- 21:16Speaker 6: particular that had a very rapid uptick in scores. So
- 21:20Speaker 6: it's not all gloom and doom out there, no, but
- 21:23Speaker 6: there have been there seems to be a lot of
- 21:24Speaker 6: stories come out this says West Virginia students, not unique
- 21:27Speaker 6: to Kanawa County are just not ready for the world.
- 21:29Speaker 3: How do we how do we change that?
- 21:31Speaker 15: I mean, I think we're making huge strides. I think
- 21:34Speaker 15: there was an article just the other day that, you know,
- 21:36Speaker 15: some of the media outlets shared about the test scores
- 21:39Speaker 15: are on the rise, you know, s a T scores.
- 21:41Speaker 14: I think we're on the right path.
- 21:43Speaker 15: I just think we can have to ensure that you know,
- 21:45Speaker 15: our our teachers and staff are you know, supported enough
- 21:49Speaker 15: that this this this, you know, this rise keeps going
- 21:51Speaker 15: in the right direction. We need to make sure that
- 21:54Speaker 15: you know, students get the same support as well and families.
- 21:58Speaker 14: You know, we just have to make sure. I think
- 21:59Speaker 14: we're on the right path, Dave.
- 22:00Speaker 15: I just think we need to continue doing these outside
- 22:03Speaker 15: things that keeps them rising.
- 22:06Speaker 3: What are some of those said things you think?
- 22:08Speaker 15: Okay, well, I mean, you know, just making sure that
- 22:10Speaker 15: you know, these students are are able to access great curriculums,
- 22:13Speaker 15: which I think are in place. I also think that
- 22:16Speaker 15: you know, being able to make sure that that teachers have,
- 22:19Speaker 15: you know, classroom sizes that are that are manageable. We
- 22:23Speaker 15: don't want to overload classes so that teachers are stressed
- 22:26Speaker 15: and overwhelmed and the students, you know, are they feel
- 22:29Speaker 15: that as well. So we need to make sure, you know,
- 22:31Speaker 15: and some of this stuff is out of county control,
- 22:34Speaker 15: you know, it's it's state funded, it's it's national issues,
- 22:38Speaker 15: it's it's not something that Kennell County can fix. All
- 22:40Speaker 15: we can do is take care of the things that
- 22:43Speaker 15: we can take care of, as you know, acting as
- 22:45Speaker 15: a board and and just making sure that you know,
- 22:48Speaker 15: we're doing everything we can to help everybody meet their goals.
- 22:53Speaker 6: And of course, if you're elected, you would be one
- 22:55Speaker 6: of a few at five Board of Education members and
- 22:59Speaker 6: you work with the superintend I'm going to ask you
- 23:01Speaker 6: a question going back to your education, the educational how
- 23:04Speaker 6: are you working with others? You get me working well
- 23:07Speaker 6: with others.
- 23:09Speaker 14: I think I get five five stars for that for sure.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:12Speaker 6: And again when you talk about the experience that you've
- 23:14Speaker 6: had inside the classroom, I think it's a and again, everybody,
- 23:17Speaker 6: no matter what the board is, everybody brings something different
- 23:19Speaker 6: to the table, whether it's business or whether it's whatever.
- 23:21Speaker 6: But having you know somebody who's actually been in the classroom,
- 23:24Speaker 6: I think I would think that that would be an advantage.
- 23:26Speaker 14: Yeah, I would too.
- 23:27Speaker 15: I mean, like I said, I think the sitting board,
- 23:29Speaker 15: you know, they've got a great selection of people. But
- 23:33Speaker 15: I feel like that I would be a you know
- 23:34Speaker 15: a great addition to what we have in place now.
- 23:38Speaker 15: And you know, if people vote for me, that that
- 23:40Speaker 15: that would just you know, strengthen what we've got going
- 23:43Speaker 15: on in Kanall County.
- 23:44Speaker 6: Again, we're talking with Lisa Odie, who is going to
- 23:46Speaker 6: be a candidate for the Kanaw County Board of Education.
- 23:48Speaker 3: What's your campaign style going to be? Are you going
- 23:50Speaker 3: door to door?
- 23:51Speaker 15: Youosroots store, that's all grassroots? You know, I'm having to
- 23:56Speaker 15: right now, I'm working on a website. Don't have that
- 23:59Speaker 15: in play show, Okay, do have a Facebook that you
- 24:02Speaker 15: can access that I'm going to be, you know, posting
- 24:04Speaker 15: different different links to you know, hopefully we'll have some
- 24:07Speaker 15: some fundraising parties and things going on. Also a link
- 24:11Speaker 15: to maybe if you want to donate to my campaign,
- 24:12Speaker 15: that would be so great, so valuable to my whole journey. Here,
- 24:17Speaker 15: my Facebook handle is Lisa od four and it's KCS
- 24:21Speaker 15: all caps, b O.
- 24:22Speaker 3: E all caps okay, and it's O T E y.
- 24:25Speaker 14: Yes, I'm sorry y O T e ys how you
- 24:26Speaker 14: spell my.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Same right now?
- 24:28Speaker 6: In addition, we'll get away from the board. So just
- 24:31Speaker 6: for a moment, we have mentioned the podcast and so
- 24:32Speaker 6: on and so forth. But you've got kind of a
- 24:35Speaker 6: very background outside of the world of education.
- 24:38Speaker 3: I mean, you've done broadcasting, done.
- 24:40Speaker 15: A little bit of r Yeah, I mean I've done
- 24:42Speaker 15: our I did R s N for years. That's part
- 24:45Speaker 15: of HD Media. It was a tailgate show and you know,
- 24:49Speaker 15: we did the high school football scene for years.
- 24:51Speaker 14: This year we're kind of on a hiatus.
- 24:52Speaker 15: There's some things going on, but this is the first
- 24:54Speaker 15: year we've we've missed in quite a while. And then
- 24:57Speaker 15: also the podcast that I do with with Carl and
- 24:59Speaker 15: Hollis and Joy. So I'm very sports oriented. I was
- 25:03Speaker 15: at the Marshall game this past week. We'll heard go heard.
- 25:05Speaker 15: I mean, it was a big win for market.
- 25:07Speaker 14: It was so awesome.
- 25:08Speaker 3: It was a big one.
- 25:09Speaker 14: Under collapse everywhere, right, it was awesome.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Homecomings this week too.
- 25:12Speaker 15: Homecoming is this week and we get to Morgantown as well.
- 25:14Speaker 15: I love both schools, so I'm a fan of both.
- 25:17Speaker 8: All right.
- 25:17Speaker 3: We got to make sure you get that in there
- 25:18Speaker 3: and state and you see, you get.
- 25:21Speaker 14: All the schools all the time day.
- 25:23Speaker 3: All right.
- 25:24Speaker 6: If there are, and I'm sure that there, I don't,
- 25:26Speaker 6: I mean, I don't know that there will be. But
- 25:28Speaker 6: if there are, you meet the candidate's forums and things
- 25:30Speaker 6: of that nature. It's something you're willing to take part in,
- 25:32Speaker 6: to take questions and that sort of thing, debates or
- 25:34Speaker 6: discussions or whatever.
- 25:36Speaker 15: Absolutely, anybody out there, reach out to my Facebook page,
- 25:38Speaker 15: send me a private message. I'm more than you know
- 25:41Speaker 15: willing to come out, answer questions, participate in any type
- 25:45Speaker 15: of you know, forums that you might have that you
- 25:47Speaker 15: would like for me to share my platform.
- 25:49Speaker 14: I'm open to that.
- 25:50Speaker 3: All right, Lisa.
- 25:51Speaker 6: As I do with every political person that comes on
- 25:54Speaker 6: the show or everybody that's running for office, I do
- 25:56Speaker 6: a thing called the final thirty when I asked them,
- 25:58Speaker 6: and it's not on the clock because.
- 26:00Speaker 3: I'm not good at math, Ryan, so let them do
- 26:02Speaker 3: this to me.
- 26:02Speaker 6: So now it's everybody. Everybody does it. It's just basically
- 26:06Speaker 6: your final thirty seconds. Why should somebody consider next year
- 26:09Speaker 6: voting for Lisa Odie for Canawh County Board of Education.
- 26:12Speaker 15: Okay, well, I'm just going to reiterate some of the
- 26:14Speaker 15: points that I made earlier, and that is the fact
- 26:16Speaker 15: that I come from you know, all these experiences that
- 26:20Speaker 15: you know working with kannall County schools. I'm familiar with,
- 26:23Speaker 15: you know, the whole county, all the schools. I also
- 26:27Speaker 15: have this this background in you know, media that will
- 26:31Speaker 15: help when we have like different I don't know press
- 26:34Speaker 15: conferences or anything like that. I'm able to participate in
- 26:36Speaker 15: that also have different ideas. You know, we've got things
- 26:39Speaker 15: going on in education with consolidation with you know, you know,
- 26:43Speaker 15: private schools.
- 26:44Speaker 14: Hope scholarships.
- 26:45Speaker 15: I want to take into consideration every single family, every
- 26:49Speaker 15: single student, and every single teacher, teacher and staff member
- 26:52Speaker 15: in Kanall County schools before we make big decisions on
- 26:55Speaker 15: anything that we can control.
- 26:57Speaker 3: All right, Lisa, appreciate you being here.
- 26:59Speaker 5: Thanks.
- 26:59Speaker 3: I hit that Facebook page again.

- 31:27Speaker 6: noon and on this show to Markanaugh County Commission President
- 31:29Speaker 6: Ben Selango will join us. Danny, Danny, Danny Jones is here.
- 31:35Speaker 6: How you doing, man, Today's the day to be happy
- 31:38Speaker 6: it is. You're looking well, man. Look at you kind
- 31:42Speaker 6: of dapper. He had a court case or something to do.
- 31:44Speaker 18: I'm going, are you yeah? And one of the things
- 31:50Speaker 18: I'd like to say, I'll say it here. You noticed
- 31:56Speaker 18: when this thing started getting close the appearance of Jared Kushner.
- 32:02Speaker 18: Jered Kushner is the President's son in law, Ivanka's husband,
- 32:09Speaker 18: and he is one sharp cookie. And he put the
- 32:13Speaker 18: Abraham Accords together. He was the one that got u
- 32:17Speaker 18: Ae Bahrain and Morocco will put out Sudan didn't work
- 32:24Speaker 18: to recognize Israel. And he is a gifted, gifted Orthodox Jew.
- 32:36Speaker 18: He's not reformed, he's not a Citic and he is
- 32:41Speaker 18: a gifted guy. And I knew when I saw him there,
- 32:47Speaker 18: when all of a sudden I saw his appearance, when
- 32:50Speaker 18: I saw him in the mix, I knew something was
- 32:53Speaker 18: coming up. That's how talented that guy is.
- 32:57Speaker 6: And of course, as we speak, the President has been
- 33:00Speaker 6: in the has been over there, and I think, Yah, Netting, Yeah,
- 33:07Speaker 6: who said said something? And I'm very much paraphrasing that
- 33:10Speaker 6: Israel has never had a friend as far as a
- 33:13Speaker 6: president like like Donald Trump.
- 33:15Speaker 18: I saw that part and then I got I got
- 33:18Speaker 18: I work out between five and six, and I get
- 33:21Speaker 18: back in bed.
- 33:22Speaker 5: Now I've got a I've got a.
- 33:24Speaker 18: Phone on my on my screen, so I get in
- 33:28Speaker 18: bed and I tilt the things so I can watch it.
- 33:32Speaker 18: And net and Yaho's speaking and he's getting ready to
- 33:34Speaker 18: introduce Trump.
- 33:36Speaker 3: And he fell asleep.
- 33:37Speaker 18: I fell asleep, and I wanted to hear what the
- 33:39Speaker 18: president did say.
- 33:41Speaker 6: So most people, and I was listening to some experts
- 33:45Speaker 6: on this subject, Danny, when I was driving in this morning.
- 33:47Speaker 6: The morning is most people think that yes, we have
- 33:51Speaker 6: the ceasefire, Yes the hostages have been have been released,
- 33:55Speaker 6: but there there are little most people that are experts
- 33:58Speaker 6: in this part of the world are still a little
- 34:00Speaker 6: and started about.
- 34:00Speaker 8: To cease fire.
- 34:01Speaker 3: That that that it.
- 34:02Speaker 6: I mean, there's gonna be those that are gonna go
- 34:04Speaker 6: along with them, But just like with anything else, you
- 34:05Speaker 6: can't control everyone.
- 34:08Speaker 18: There are people that are involved in this and one
- 34:10Speaker 18: I'll give you one that's urdle one in Turkey. He
- 34:14Speaker 18: hates Israel and he was part of the peacemaking process,
- 34:19Speaker 18: but he has he has supplied the p l O
- 34:23Speaker 18: with arsenal to do damage to Israel.
- 34:27Speaker 5: He's no friend of Israel.
- 34:29Speaker 18: And but I think, I think, I think the biggest
- 34:35Speaker 18: loser in all this is Iran. And just started when
- 34:41Speaker 18: when they killed Sulamani, remember started that, and then just
- 34:48Speaker 18: a few months ago they bombed the UH the nuclear
- 34:54Speaker 18: little yeah, And I believe that they thought this guy
- 34:59Speaker 18: really is it's crazy, and.
- 35:03Speaker 5: So they buckled.
- 35:06Speaker 3: How big of a win is this for Donald Trump?
- 35:08Speaker 18: And big, real big, But nothing's going to be big
- 35:14Speaker 18: if he didn't get the government open, right, I mean,
- 35:16Speaker 18: because I'm on so surety and also give a disability check.
- 35:22Speaker 18: It's not much but from the from the VA. And
- 35:26Speaker 18: if all of a sudden, oh let's start shutting down,
- 35:28Speaker 18: people are going to start blinking.
- 35:30Speaker 6: Well, he said that he's figured out a way to
- 35:33Speaker 6: fund the military because they're they're due to be paid
- 35:36Speaker 6: on Wednesday. I guess, so he would have to. I
- 35:40Speaker 6: guess get that in today's a holiday, So I'm presuming
- 35:43Speaker 6: that on Tuesday, I mean, they get they got to
- 35:46Speaker 6: work this thing out. But if they're going to get
- 35:47Speaker 6: it worked out, that's not good enough. Whose fault is it,
- 35:52Speaker 6: in your opinion?
- 35:53Speaker 5: All the Democrats?
- 35:55Speaker 6: So what he called the governor Governor Morris why referred
- 35:57Speaker 6: to it as the Schumer shut down.
- 35:58Speaker 18: Well, they could vote for it. There's some stuff in
- 36:02Speaker 18: there they don't like. Now they have an option. The
- 36:07Speaker 18: Republicans have an option. They could you do what the
- 36:11Speaker 18: Democrats did on the judicial picks and just do a
- 36:17Speaker 18: you know, use a nuclear option.
- 36:19Speaker 6: But you're you're solely placing blame on this on the Democrats.
- 36:23Speaker 5: I think so.
- 36:27Speaker 18: I think it's the fact that we don't have people
- 36:30Speaker 18: like Joe there. Of course, we've got Jim Big Jim.
- 36:33Speaker 18: He's there, so he's with us, he's with opening up
- 36:37Speaker 18: the government. But out in Arizona we lost our whatever
- 36:44Speaker 18: her name was, Christen Cinema. Those kind of You got
- 36:48Speaker 18: a few Democrats that will vote for it, right, But
- 36:52Speaker 18: what the Republicans have got to get him? I hate
- 36:55Speaker 18: to sound partisan, folks, I'm not a regi Republican anymore.
- 37:00Speaker 18: But the Republicans, the media is against him. And if
- 37:07Speaker 18: you watch a Sunday Morning shows unless you watch Fox,
- 37:11Speaker 18: and I don't. I watched at ABC.
- 37:14Speaker 3: I watched it.
- 37:14Speaker 6: Yesterday's pretty pretty contentious interview with Stephanopolis and the vice president.
- 37:19Speaker 5: Oh he's so obnoxious.
- 37:22Speaker 18: I've had dinner with them before. Really, No, when he
- 37:25Speaker 18: was down here and I had my restaurant, you know,
- 37:27Speaker 18: he worked on Sparrow's parking lot, and he came over
- 37:31Speaker 18: to get a sandwich my my resferen.
- 37:33Speaker 3: Where George Stepanopolis work parking lot. Yeah, okay, he was.
- 37:37Speaker 18: A little guy and he came over to get a
- 37:42Speaker 18: sandwich at my restaurant, which was where Rusty's law office is.
- 37:48Speaker 18: So but I blame it on the Democrats. They could
- 37:53Speaker 18: open the government.
- 37:55Speaker 6: That interview, and I mean, I think jd Vance yesterday
- 37:58Speaker 6: must have been on every possible show because I'm like,
- 38:00Speaker 6: you always watched the nine o'clock show, and then I'll
- 38:03Speaker 6: catch Meet the Press, you know sometimes, or I'll catch
- 38:06Speaker 6: I catch a Star Walt, you know at ten on
- 38:08Speaker 6: News Nation, and I'll kind flip around little bit. But
- 38:11Speaker 6: I think he was on every every possible show yesterday
- 38:14Speaker 6: with that interview was Stepanopolis was was very very contentious.
- 38:20Speaker 5: I can't think.
- 38:20Speaker 3: I can't think of a better, a better way.
- 38:22Speaker 5: To put it off.
- 38:23Speaker 18: At the end, he wanted to keep talking and stepping
- 38:26Speaker 18: up with cut him off, and he wouldn't have done
- 38:32Speaker 18: that device President of the Harris. But I understand about
- 38:40Speaker 18: the Medicaid and the medicare no. As a matter of fact,
- 38:44Speaker 18: I don't understand. I need to learn more about it.
- 38:48Speaker 18: And there's nowhere to go to get the truth about
- 38:53Speaker 18: that's sadly, you're right, if if is it gonna eviscerate
- 38:58Speaker 18: all that stuff. I mean, well, there's nowhere that there's
- 39:01Speaker 18: nowhere that you can go to get the truth.
- 39:03Speaker 6: And look, I could be discovered to be totally wrong
- 39:07Speaker 6: twenty four hours from now. But I don't think this
- 39:08Speaker 6: thing's ending anytime soon. I mean I could come in
- 39:11Speaker 6: here tomorrow and start the show, go well I was wrong,
- 39:13Speaker 6: but I don't.
- 39:15Speaker 3: I don't think something.
- 39:15Speaker 18: Well, I hope you are, but I don't think so.
- 39:18Speaker 18: And you know, Trump's riding pretty high right now, and
- 39:24Speaker 18: but the press is gonna bring him down. It's gonna
- 39:26Speaker 18: last about a It's gonna last about a day. It's
- 39:30Speaker 18: a day or two. I was up at the gym
- 39:33Speaker 18: the first time I had my headphones off. I was
- 39:36Speaker 18: listening to the Fox News, and then I would look
- 39:41Speaker 18: at CNN and look at MSNBC. They were all ice
- 39:46Speaker 18: and yeah and the shutdown and it depends on who
- 39:51Speaker 18: you know.
- 39:51Speaker 6: Yeah, and that's and it's really unfortunate because there is
- 39:55Speaker 6: it with with the national news be it and n
- 40:00Speaker 6: be it, Fox News whatever, there's I'm a NewsNation guy,
- 40:03Speaker 6: and I've always I like news Nation, okay, but it
- 40:07Speaker 6: just seems to me that there is I mean, and
- 40:10Speaker 6: I long for the old days. I really don't remember
- 40:12Speaker 6: Cronkite as much as what you do, but I remember
- 40:15Speaker 6: him being on.
- 40:17Speaker 5: Uh he went three.
- 40:18Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it was eighty one. I think it
- 40:21Speaker 6: was eighty one. I think it was eighty one, but
- 40:24Speaker 6: same general time frame. You're right about that. And I
- 40:26Speaker 6: just remember this is the news and now it's you know,
- 40:30Speaker 6: I mean, go to any comment section of any page
- 40:33Speaker 6: and listen to people say things like, well, turn off CNN,

- 41:19Speaker 18: going to spend five hourand all you got you?
- 41:21Speaker 3: I got you.
- 41:23Speaker 6: Text says Notice how many Arab nation flags are white, red, black,
- 41:28Speaker 6: and green. Those four colors coincidentally are the same colors
- 41:31Speaker 6: as the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. White represents purity, peace,
- 41:35Speaker 6: or honor, but correlates with the white horse, which symbolizes deceptive,
- 41:38Speaker 6: piece or conquest. Red represents blood, sacrifice, and couragement, correlates
- 41:42Speaker 6: with the red horse, which represents war. Black represents mourning
- 41:46Speaker 6: and correlates with the black horse, which represents famine and
- 41:48Speaker 6: economic hardship. Green represents life and land. It relates to
- 41:51Speaker 6: the death as the pale horse, which in Greek translates
- 41:54Speaker 6: to pale greenish color indicates disease in the cay.
- 41:57Speaker 18: Hey, I'll tell you what I look for in that, Okay,
- 42:01Speaker 18: Saudi Arabia to establish relations with Israel, that would be something.
- 42:07Speaker 5: Well, I think that was.
- 42:08Speaker 18: They were getting close until the October seventh thing. And
- 42:13Speaker 18: like I said, Cushner's back in play. Now that got's magic.
- 42:18Speaker 18: I don't know him. I don't necessarily like him or
- 42:21Speaker 18: dislike him.
- 42:23Speaker 6: Tex says, if Obamacare is such a good health plan,
- 42:25Speaker 6: then why would it need additional subsidies to make it affordable.
- 42:28Speaker 6: That's just it. Wait, let me finish. That's just it. It's
- 42:31Speaker 6: the Unaffordable Care Act and has been a failure since
- 42:33Speaker 6: it started. It's why Democrats are raising so much sand
- 42:36Speaker 6: over it.
- 42:36Speaker 18: But it's always had subsidies. That was part of us. Yeah,
- 42:40Speaker 18: it's always had subsidies. And that was the problem is
- 42:45Speaker 18: it's between the unions and the Republicans. They stripped away
- 42:49Speaker 18: the taxes that paid for it. The unions they had
- 42:54Speaker 18: those Cadillac healthcare plans and they were supposed to chip
- 42:59Speaker 18: in to help pay because they had such good health,
- 43:01Speaker 18: and no, we're not doing that. So they stripped that.
- 43:05Speaker 18: And then the Republicans, you know, the taxes that were
- 43:07Speaker 18: paying for it, they stripped that.
- 43:09Speaker 3: Out of it.
- 43:11Speaker 6: Tex says that Dave Trump's America is for sale. Muslim

- 43:27Speaker 18: I was a mayor. They wanted to do some real
- 43:31Speaker 18: estate stuff here and I was just about ready to

- 43:41Speaker 5: Who was the local guy? He didn't let me stay

- 43:45Speaker 3: Really is this going to be in the book?
- 43:47Speaker 5: No, it didn't last that long.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Okay, it didn't make the book.
- 43:51Speaker 5: There's gonna be some good stuff in that book.
- 43:53Speaker 3: Taxes. Maga says, it's okay.
- 43:56Speaker 6: If Trump wants to confiscate guns from people he wants to,
- 43:59Speaker 6: ain't gonna happen.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Cut better get off that train.
- 44:02Speaker 6: Tex says it wasn't Trump that got the cease fire,
