- 0:11[SPEAKER_01]: with me, Simon Clancy.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_01]: And as always, my special guest, our crabs from A to Z sports, the A to Z or A to Z.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_03]: A to Z.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: A to Z.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: A to Z.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_01]: But A to Z, okay, we're meeting with everybody.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_03]: Soon it was the English accent.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_03]: No, I don't have any questions at all.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_03]: I said, yeah, it's just a great time.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because I would call it Z, not Z, but that's a, yeah, I mean, whatever.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, hope you are making welcome back from the front line of scouting.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get into it in more detail, but how was my bill?
- 0:41[SPEAKER_01]: 2026.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_03]: It was cold.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: Was it?
- 0:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_03]: So I left.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_03]: We had a massive winter storm that came through there.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_03]: The end of the week beforehand.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_03]: So I moved my flight up and I'm like, all right, cool.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_03]: I avoided the foot of snow that we got at home.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_03]: And then I woke up on Sunday morning in Pensacola.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_03]: And it was 21 degrees outside.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, oh, sick.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_03]: This is really cool.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_03]: But it was it was it's always good to be boots on the ground really compelling group of talent this year with some guys that I thought really flashed in and broke out and kind of put some exclamation points going into the the start of this whole process so it's it's valuable time that was well spent excited to kind of get into some of the names that that we're going to dig into on today show.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: So I've been, I've been to the city of Obama.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: So this is already going to work for people watching on a video and I apologize to people who are, um, who are just listening, but, uh, in the city of Obama, you just sit in their kind of bleachers or you're going to feel in whatever and, uh, you know, it's a lot of kind of, you know,
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: On one side, it's obviously the teams, and on the other side, it's people like Carla Lai, who sit there and, you know, the frienduffies and all of the Ian Cummings is and all of those people.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: And on my very first day, I was fascinated to see, I don't know if you can see this, but this guy was student front me wearing this t-shirt.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: which says, this gets important, which to me was like, I'm not sure what you're working for, buddy, but I'm not sold.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's necessarily the image.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_04]: Living in bed life.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not sure that the image that you necessarily want to convey.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, before we get into the senior ball weeds, a quick word because last night,
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: ESPNC in a college football right at Peter Mel tweeted that the NCAA had denied the appeal for Ovidman score back, trying to add a chance to gain a sixth season of eligibility, which essentially can't push his fight, I think, to the state court.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: Chandis then put out a picture on Instagram with a pair of cleats and a sort of conveniently positioned Duke ball with an NFL logo on it.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: The ramifications, I think, if he loses in state call, are pretty huge aren't they?
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: Because mainly it's the impact to him and his draft stock, you know, Shrine Bol week has gone senior Bol week has gone, the combine is three weeks away and every day that he sits in limbo really affects his draft stock, doesn't it?
- 3:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and what's interesting too is, you know, a lot of these guys they go through this draft process and they talk about the impact of the training, right?
- 3:16[SPEAKER_03]: It's well, I spent three months training not to do football activities and doing media things and doing interview training and doing 40 art dash training and stacking milkshakes to add weight like all this stuff that these guys got to do,
- 3:34[SPEAKER_03]: Um, it, it really is fascinating to know that like him being in limbo potentially has him in between where where he's not doing some of those things.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that maybe gives you a more authentic snapshot of who he is as a player, not who he is when he's training for the draft process itself, because those two things are far too often not the same version of a player, not the same playing weight, not the same speed, not the same
- 3:58[SPEAKER_03]: engagement with people they're talking to because you're trained for all of it, right?
- 4:03[SPEAKER_03]: It's it's a three-month job interview.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_03]: So I think what he'll have to lean on if he ends up getting pushed into this pool is the film and the production and the athletic traits that he has relative to a quarterback class that does not have a lot of guys that have more than a few boxes checked.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it feels like I'm not completely understand where he's coming from, but it feels like
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: You know, given the class, there is a possibility.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: However, small that he could sneak into the back end the very last couple of picks of around one for a team that's maybe comfortable, but with an aging court or back situation who feel like having that extra year, the fifth year, I don't think that's beyond the realm's possibility, but I think, as every day goes by, he kind of sits further and further away from that, and he's not the only one in the same boat, Joey Aguilard, the Tennessee court back, obviously not nearly, I mean, it's regarded, but it's in the same situation.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it doesn't seem like it's a very difficult one and one, I think, of the NCAAs I'm making in many regards because it is
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's a difficult situation all around, isn't it?
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, let's jump to Senior Bowl, because as we mentioned, you were there last week, all was a fun time in Mobile or a great city, all was a well organized event.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: And you directed this year with Jim Nagy head into local homers there, GM and Drew Fabianic.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: Take you know, if I did you see any number of times before, I need discernible differences in terms of how the thing was run.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's, I've been there through the Phil Savage years, the Jim, the entirety of the Jim Naguera and now obviously with Drew this year and I think what's, what stood out was,
- 5:44[SPEAKER_03]: They, I think Drew's experience in the league was made a point of emphasis to strengthen the experience for the scouts and for the players, where the practices got bummed the first practice started at 130, right?
- 6:01[SPEAKER_03]: And the teams did all their interviews in the morning and in the early afternoon.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_03]: So like the scouts and the league guys, they got through the end of the
- 6:11[SPEAKER_03]: right like in years past it's been there's a practice that's mid-morning and then you're doing interviews until after dinner time and I remember meeting Germain Johnson up in the upper part of the hotel where the all the players stay at and it was 930 at night and he was just wrapping up his interviews right so that was something that stood out to me was some of the media accessibility I think
- 6:36[SPEAKER_03]: came at the cost of making the event better for the players and for the scouts and if if that's part of you know the the process to make it and we're out we are at a bit of an arms race here with these all-star games and trying to make it as attractive and engaging and comfortable of a process as you can for the players I'll be interested to see if that trend holds here over here.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's actually Fabianic, obviously kind of began his career coaching at Tennessee, UT Martin.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: Louisiana Monroe, I think, and then spent 18 years, I think, as a scout at the Cowboys before becoming GM and director of scouting and development at Auburn.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: And I think West Virginia after that, but interesting to see how it's changed.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: I know they had a new mention that the weather, a lot of difficulties, 127 flight changes I heard Drew say because of the weather, so a lot going on behind the scenes.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: At this appointing number of dropouts, I think at ultimately I think it was 34 players who originally accepted invites who were no longer on the roster for first practice, that has an effect, doesn't it, in terms of just not the authenticity of the event, because you can't control who comes and who goes, but it's a bit frustrating, isn't it, for the fan?
- 7:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I have learned not to get excited about excitement.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_03]: I get excited about way in numbers because that means that person is showed up.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_03]: Not on the scale got measured and has his pads like in mobile ready roll, right?
- 8:04[SPEAKER_03]: So.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_03]: You want me to go out half full and I am clearly missed a glass off empty when it Well, no, no, it's because I'm the same boat as you it's you see the names that Accepted and then like Ruben Baines and except an invite after the nanny and then two days later He's out and Kiyonte Scott and it's like okay.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we could have just kept the the Accepted invite tweet the drafts.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_03]: I get why you put it out because it's good pub for the game and
- 8:29[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the player looks good because they accepted this thing to compete, but then, oh, I accepted a month ago, and now we made the clouds football playoff run.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_03]: So I want to take the time and rest my I get it, but.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_03]: It's always kind of been a problem.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's a big barrier that the all-star games have when you're trying to become a destination event, right?
- 8:50[SPEAKER_03]: It's the first 10-pole event of the draft and it's a big economic stimulus for the city and mobile, the point of emphasis is we want to bring fans down here for the entire week, the practices and the game.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_03]: But it's hard to do that when you get a third of the roster that, or a quarter of the roster, 25% of the roster drops out from the time that the initial roster is announced and then five weeks later in the game start, or the practice is start for the week.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_03]: So I get why it's a necessary beast and everybody is people and agents are learning more and more to kind of gamify the pre-draft experience a little bit, you get the credit for the accepted invite, that's good pub, it's good pub for the event, but we're gonna focus on our combined trade.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_03]: it's so inner-woven amongst each other that it's hard to imagine what a fix looks like for that.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_03]: So I just get excited when I see the guys actually waving.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was speaking to an agent last week.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_01]: I can't say who it was or who it presents unfortunately, but he was saying that he'd had some clients down at the shrine bowl who weren't practicing what, weren't playing but were talking to Scouts and doing some interviews.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm also actually
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: tackle down there talking actually.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to talk to a dolphin scout behind the end zone.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: But also this age it was talking to me about some of his clients that were at the senior ball and not to perform just kind of fluid and out for 24 hours just to see some teams and just have some chats and a couple of them just to update teams on injury, things and and those sorts of things.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: Which is always interesting, but yeah, it's a very your point that you make, you were obviously there watching practices, you've been home for a few days, you watched the film, and the way that you and I put this show together is we kind of just kick some things around on on messenger and and
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know the players that you're going to talk about now, which is quite fun for me.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: So give me a few players who stood out for you and then we'll kick a few names around who else made an impression.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: But we've gone give us a list of who you saw and who you came away really impressed with.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: Does I know there's a few guys that we've talked about privately that you really like?
- 10:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so I would shot out, um, get start with Malachi feels the Notre Dame Widerceaver.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_03]: Big high weight speed guy, six before 218 pounds, like legitimate, high weight speed guy.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_03]: I think Ted Hurst at Widerceaver from Georgia State was yet another big Widerceaver, six three and a quarter 207.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_03]: Had over 33 inch arms, right?
- 11:08[SPEAKER_03]: So like there's a wingspan to go with the size and the way that he attacked the ball in the air that I thought really stood out.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_03]: Along the offensive line, Jalen Farmer from Kentucky, I thought was really, really good with his hand.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_03]: He's got almost 35 in terms of his own guard.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_03]: Now, there's not a lot of position flex there.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_03]: He kind of reminded me of like this miss mesh.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_03]: exotic hybrid of Robert Hunt and then John Simpson.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_03]: He's got like the John Simpson bill with some Robert Hunt stylistic like level of play to him would like for better for worse the over aggressiveness but the power, the hand strength.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_03]: So he really stood out to me in a big way as somebody who I thought
- 11:55[SPEAKER_03]: from Kansas State had himself a good showing in that regard as well, and then I want to go with a tackle.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_03]: Here's what a state kid.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_03]: He didn't play high school football at all.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_03]: He's somebody that you're very warm on as well.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_03]: I see some of them on this there, but holy smokes, the traits are good.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_03]: Those would be the offensive guys out of the chat.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Ian Eachor is a fascinating guy, as you mentioned.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I've been doing tackles this week, and I've been actually for the past three weeks for the draft book.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I kept, he was probably, I don't know, eight or nine for just the original kind of stack as you go through, and I just kept moving him up and watch somebody else.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's then below him and below him, below him, he's then that third on my legs.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is a guy born in Nigeria.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: He was a soccer player until he moved to the US age 13.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: He took up basketball, was a dominant small forward, but played no football whatsoever, because his size couldn't play football.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: He ended up in AAU, basketball, and his AAU coach was like, you know,
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: Why don't you just try out for football?
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: He went to L.A.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: Junior College, JuCo, and he literally sat on the sidelines.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: So people talk about him turning to football in 2021.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: The reality is he didn't actually play in a game until 2022 because the whole first year was just their practicing, screaming, g, developing his body, learning to understand the fundamentals of a game he had no clue about really.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: was thrown into the fire then in 2023 to essentially they had five stars in 2023 and over the last couple of years just that the physical development, the positioning, he's so smooth, there's a mover, he's a leverage, I mean there are some big losses, you know, he can lose quickly sometimes but I just think and I don't know what your take on him is but I just think that
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: it looks really, really easy to him and given how well he or how short a time frame he's played the game, I just think the the upside is just so massive.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: I mean 2100 snaps, but I mean coming off a season without giving up a sack, I'll give you the most impressive player at the senior ball.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I just think for a team that can afford to let him mature and develop.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's got pro ball plus upside for me because the, you know, what was he 65, 355, just moved so easily.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: There's a kind of powerful nastyness to how he plays the game.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: I just, and I was expecting when I really don't need to take to see somebody who was a bit more mechanical, because the fact that he only paid for three years and he's not that at all.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: I just, yeah, I thought he was a really good, he's a really good player.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you invoked the pro bowl line and that's what I had that in the final synopsis.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_03]: You know, every offensive line coach is going to watch him and they're going to say, I can fix him as far as the things are wrong.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_03]: Probably 20 of the 32 would be right, right?
- 14:45[SPEAKER_03]: Like I think there are some situations in circumstances with
- 14:48[SPEAKER_03]: not great offensive stability, the wrong quarterback behind you, I think could put some bad muscle memory and some bad habits into his tape that he probably like, I wouldn't even say his bad habits yet because he's still so fresh to it, right?
- 15:03[SPEAKER_03]: Like you got to untrain anything, it's you just got to teach him what to do sometimes.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but the lengthy athleticism, the framing.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_03]: He had Romelo height on the Texas Tech tape.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_03]: He had that man in hell.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_03]: Like he was awesome against Texas Tech.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_03]: I think he had one pressure given up to Bailey and that was it.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_03]: So, uh, I thought that tape was was a great showcase for him and he was definitely one of the biggest winners that I had, uh, regardless of what's
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Manakai feels we touched upon a couple of weeks ago and actually I was really, I saw that Matt Miller put him in his first round at the mock that he released on Monday, but the other receiver he mentioned was Ted Hurst, who to me is one of the best FCS players in the draft regardless of position.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's long, six, three, one, not if I have tracks that will really well.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_01]: just the physical traits and the size are so desirable.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_01]: A basketball kid and you can kind of see that, you know, in how he moves with the footwork and those sort of things paid receiver played corner, doubled up as a teams punter in high school.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, he can win when he gets free.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's on the Bruce Feldman's freaklist has been, I think, two years running.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, when he gets free releases, he just can get up on the shoulder of the corner in a hurry, he can stack,
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: I really like his tape and obviously saw him more than me and up close last week, but the tape and some of the...
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: And some of the nuance to this game, I thought was really impressive.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: And especially, you know, with the ballings hands, the force tackles to kind of stay alive, led all FPS receivers of the last two years with 25 receptions of 20 plus A.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: So he's a talented kid, a former silver medalist in the state championship, long jump.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: So again, you see that kind of athletic profile.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I was glad to see that he did so well down there.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he really, the way it was the way he attacked the ball.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you could, you contrasted it to Jacobi Lane from USC had some ups and downs in that regard.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_03]: And to contrast, Hurst is the big body guy to fields in his tracking down the field.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_03]: And he had a big adjustment on day two on a big post down the field from tail and green.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_03]: And seeing how Hurst attacked the ball at the catch point and how aggressive he was.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_03]: really impressive in that regard.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the decelerating is so sudden in terms of how it can decelerate and put its foot in the ground and I don't think or I certainly didn't get any impression on tape that he was super, super snappy coming out of his brakes, but what I did really like from him, especially as an FCS guy, is that he shows a really clear understanding of one of the dead areas that the defensive understands how to play in zone which I which I really liked.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: So you went through some offensive players, you must have some defensive guys for me as well.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, TJ Parker.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_03]: I thought did really well with his used his length well.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_03]: He looked like a guy who maybe was in a hundred percent throughout 20 25 and then had a chance to get a little bit of time off.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_03]: He looked great with the power great hand placement great extension played up under and through the pads of blockers and the 101s.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_03]: I thought he had a great week.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_03]: Namedi Tucker from Western Michigan is somebody that I had circled coming home on the plane.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, all right, I got watched this cap because he was slippery.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_03]: Now he doesn't have a great size profile.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_03]: He's under six foot two.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_03]: He's under 250, so maybe a little bit more like a designated past rush or to start, but you saw some of the slipperyness that he had and I thought he was a big
- 18:34[SPEAKER_03]: Zion came in big at 262 and there came in compact at 254 but had 34 in terms of 63.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_03]: Those guys had like a good, good bit of burst and then had power that they played with with that.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_03]: So I thought both of those guys really showcased themselves well as guys that had what I felt was
- 18:56[SPEAKER_03]: good power components to compliment which you thought some of their explosiveness was.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_03]: And then I would go to the second area.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_03]: I thought Davis and Ignosan had a very nice week.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_03]: Kind of reminded me of the week that Tyreek Stevenson had a few years back when he got drafted in the second round out of the University of Miami with what he did down there at the senior boy with just how long and aggressive he is.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_03]: And
- 19:19[SPEAKER_03]: I know he super handsy, but, you know, he did cut down on the penalties this year, which I think is going to help him in a big big way.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_03]: I think he cut him by by two thirds from what he was going to attack with before, right?
- 19:30[SPEAKER_03]: So I thought that was promising.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_03]: Blood Clark safety from TCU just kind of had like the instincts little lean.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_03]: I know I don't like those those safety's that are necessarily 185, six foot one.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_03]: That's like a very long slender build to play safety where you got to be able to strike guys, but.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_03]: the instincts were very evident with him, and I thought he had a good showcase for himself, and then I thought Camara Ramsey was what I hoped he would be seeing in there as well, because there was a big fan going back to last year when he chose to go back to USC.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think that was something interesting to eyes, because
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: He's from Nigerian family as well as I and each of them.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: But what I think is really interesting about him is his name, the name Egonosan translates literally to feeling friendly, which is exactly the opposite of how this kid plays.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, correct.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's the most unfriendly player.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think, and it's not just his physical play, which is he's extremely physical.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's also mouthy.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he trashed talks and all along.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: he gave them a tumbo fingerwag after every year and there he's so he was feeling himself he he he he had himself a good weekend he was very confident short term memory which you need at that position his um yeah he'd argue with himself in the phone booth uh uh uh but I kind of quite like that but I mean you've been to the parents you had 11 holding calls in 2024 he was the most penalized defensive player all of college football but actually I thought a lot of that went away in in 25 and I think
- 20:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think that Matt Patricia got him to practice with boxing gloves on, literally, not making that up, just so that he wasn't quite as grabbing.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know, basketball family is parents, very basketball, and again, I think that that shows in his footwork.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_01]: TJ Parker's an interesting guy, because Parker, I think, came into, you know, I came into the year with Parker thinking it was him and Bane, kind of at the top of the
- 21:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the top of the tree, a four-star prospect, another basketball kid, his mum, his aunt, his granddad, all-play basketball, the collegiate level, his grandfather was a seven-foot-tool basketball player.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: Military kid, military father was a sergeant in the army, so kind of discipline, hard work, all that kind of ethos, and speaking to some coaches around Clemson, they were, you know, they are
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: You mentioned the health.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: He'd had a wrist injury.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: I heard rumors of a shoulder injury.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_01]: There's also some, he's spent a career suffering from pretty serious migraines, which actually originally cropped up when he was studying on a projector, studying film on a projector.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: So he used to sit at the back where sunglasses, all of this thing, but he now takes medication for that.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder if the, maybe that had something to do with it, but yeah, I think he came on really strong down the stretch.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: Just explosive player comes out
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: big fan of him so yeah some some interesting now who would you say if you if you could pick a winner who would you say that you saw that you know you'd say look this was the best guy I saw this week.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_03]: Oh the best guy is Iron Eager.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_03]: Okay
- 22:25[SPEAKER_03]: as far as the first day had a couple like I always like to see who takes the opportunity to beginning of the week and really splashes and who sustains it, who splashes early and then disappears and then who gets better as the week goes on and takes to the coaching better.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_03]: And that's what you would expect a guy that's super raw that has the traits that he does to be able to do and that's what you saw happen where I thought his worst day was Tuesday and he got better every
- 22:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we'll go to break in a sec.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_01]: There's four, five guys I just wanted to mention just you mentioned to us reaction and deleted them from I.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_01]: But there were a couple of running back, so I was really interested in one is Jay Naut who played really well at Cal went to Oklahoma and just kind of
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: just disappeared, couldn't get any PT, was just not on the field of the whole time, and he performed really well.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: And the other is Jamari Taylor, a Virginia who spent five years in both kind of a central and really only had production in his final year, I mean, he 400 350 yards in 23th, you know, not massive production, and there's only had, just trying to find the number here, there's only had,
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: 576 carries since he left high school in 2019 but 47 career touchdowns and I just thought he looked good, especially as a receiver, he's outstanding in past protection, he's loads the floor as 590 to 04, just leverage battles and if you go back and watch the taking you go and watch Virginia play early on the season against Florida State.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: a little comes up from the secondary and has a sort of ten yard head start and just comes and hits him at four forces at the end of the second level and Taylor crushes him.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: He absolutely crushes him to the point where little is getting up and he's like shaking.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: Taylor goes on the scores.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's like a 25-yard brand.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's like he is a physical kid.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: A slick, you know, he can mix between the slasher and a power runner.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_01]: Did he see any
- 24:24[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think you used, kind of saw the slashing part of it.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_03]: I, I, I, I struggled a little bit with the backs at the senior ball right because there's no tackling right so you could see you get get a good feel for like the feet.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_03]: They did some drills that I was right up there against the, uh, the end zone that they were working in where they had a couple of bags laid out and I really liked the drill where the coach.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_03]: Um, they would have them lined up later in the back field and take a track and then the coach would run across the front of the bags and drop cones as if it's like defender in this gap defender in this gap and you had to cut and break to the the bag that didn't have the cone in it out of like four or five options.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_03]: and watching those guys work in that air, that was kind of the best feel I had for what your process in quickness, how smooth your feet.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_03]: I thought Taylor would that build at five nine.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_03]: This is a lot of other bigger backs with face on from South Carolina, it was came in a two thirteen for that week.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_03]: Both the Penn State kids weighed in.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_03]: Nick Singleton was 221 K-Tron Allen was 222, right?
- 25:28[SPEAKER_03]: They're their bigger backs.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_03]: Mike Washington from Arkansas was 228, so there's like big kids and then Taylor being as as compact and lighter that he was, I think that was an area where he showed himself well, and then naturally when you get into the live settings, you have a chance to show this showcase that leverage a little bit.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, listen, on this podcast, you are not just getting the top level guys, you're getting blocking tight ends because this time last year, Carl, I were utilizing about Jackson Hawes or Georgia Tech who went on to have a really, yeah, absolutely.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_01]: Like, have a really good season with the bills.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: And this year's candidate for the Jackson Hall's Memorial Award, as it were, not these dying, but is Nate Borkachiro of Texas A&M, six seasons in college, five in Nebraska, year with the Aggies, never had more than 200 receiving odds in the season, only 38 catches, but
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's a physical, physical blocker, isn't he?
- 26:20[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's a great power at the point of attack, leverage guy.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_01]: And actually, I thought he did a pretty good job catching the ball through contact this week and, you know, teams are going to be seeing him as, you know, a guy that can do a little more than just be, you know, a really good inline guy.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_01]: He could actually, you know, be somebody that can, you know, be targeted throughout games.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and that's, uh, that's what I like about the senior role, right?
- 26:46[SPEAKER_03]: So you get some guys out of the offense that they're in a little bit different quarterback play.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_03]: I think about Mason Taylor, right?
- 26:52[SPEAKER_03]: And kind of the usage of Mason Taylor at LSU and what routes they asked him to run versus what he was able to do in Mobile.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_03]: And then he gets drafted top 50 and loan behold.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_03]: not a super high bar to clear to be one of the top receiving targets on the jets last year, but he was one of the top receiving targets on the jet last year.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_03]: So I thought both him and the Ohio state kid, Kagnaric, Kagnaric checked in like 18 and a half on the GPS at 262.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_03]: I think he was the heaviest tight end there.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_03]: So those two guys are guys that have kind of that blocking pedigree and profile and the physicality element that I thought showed varying degrees of, okay, there's a little something extra here that I think will help them and what I think is a pretty deep.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_03]: day three, late day two type of training.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and then just a couple of defensive players very quickly, Rachel and Benny I thought was impactful each day that I saw as quick, it was powerful to defeat blocks here in kind of different ways, long arms as well, which I thought I'd help him make an impact pretty early.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: And then a guy just had like an unbelievable 2025 and we don't really talk about it.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: and kind of one of the most interesting players and colours football.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: He won the Buckress Ward, who is Jay Trabodriga.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: He won two state titles as a wrestler.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's the son of a blackjack dealer.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_01]: His wife is a helicopter pilot on active duty in the US Army.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's got so much going on so much hinterland.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: But actually, I just thought instinctive, aggressive, this season, the hammer as a gap filler, you know, a playmaker.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_01]: He adds, like, you know,
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: Midna Vembre has seven force fumbles.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know what he ended up with.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_01]: You know, there's been some injuries at least Frank Spray, our bone bruise, a torn labrum, all of those sorts of things.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: But it was interesting to see him in those cover drills against backs.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: He was just eating up, running backs in those passing drills.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: He had a good week as well.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's you're going down the run down.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_03]: He sounds like that those seconds most interesting man in the world is this what it's all right, take a drag.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_03]: Well, when I was doing the research the way he's the best linebacker gospel ball and I'll be true.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: This time of the black Jack thing.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_01]: Unbelievable
- 29:00[SPEAKER_03]: It was a good week for linebackers.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_03]: I would have a hard time kind of separating some of these guys to be honest because Kyle Lewis was phenomenal at the end of the week.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_03]: Great.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_03]: Regan's was consistent.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_03]: I thought Bryce Thatcher from Oregon had a good week as well.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_03]: So there were a number of guys at linebacker that really flashed.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_03]: I know the
- 29:25[SPEAKER_03]: The Arkansas kid, Xavier and sorry, popped a little bit too.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_03]: He's in one of these lighter linebackers, right?
- 29:30[SPEAKER_03]: It was him and Kyle Lewis are both sub 225.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_03]: But then you, you contrast those guys with Jacob Rodriguez and, and that's sure as guys that are 61, 230.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_03]: Don't have great length, but like the football instincts are there.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_03]: And I think those are the guys that,
- 29:46[SPEAKER_03]: You see day three linebackers every year, then end up landing on a spot and I mean shoot some of them are Sean Dolac and for no reason at all go undrafted other than he just played it.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not starting in the playoffs for the round.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and there's no reason for him to go undrafted other than.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_03]: He hit like great pro day numbers, he had good agility times, but he had short arms and played a buffalo.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_03]: So he went on top.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_03]: But that's neither here nor there.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_03]: That position group, I would circle guys like Rodriguez.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's probably a mid-round guy as long as he runs well, and I think running well for him would be in the four sevens.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_03]: I don't expect him to be like a big time blazer.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_03]: But I think he solidified himself in around three, round four, probably worst case scenario very early, round five would kind of be like the forecast I have for him right now.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Betcher is another, like you talk about hinterland, Betcher is another fascinating item.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_01]: He was a court about, he was at the elite 11th of CJ Strahd and Bryce Young.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: There's a court about, like that's the transition that he's made, a top 10 rank baseball player in the state, chose actually to pursue baseball rather than football.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: But just bizarrely got one scholarship offer from Utah to play baseball.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_01]: Rye Flung, Oregon fan, one of his most prize possessions as a kid growing.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is true.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_01]: It was a Kenyan Barnard jersey.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: at baseball with them.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: And then when Dan Landing was hard as a football coach, but it just sort of tweet about all contracts of football when they're long and the rest is history.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: So you just never know, but yeah, good week, good week had by all and some really interesting performances.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think we'll go to break now.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: When we come back, we'll talk briefly about the shrine game, but first here is Alf.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to pay some bills for us.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I will.

- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: Conviction seems to be like the word around here, so I'll just say I have a lot of conviction on these plays and if you've been following my plays I think going a pretty nice little streak there through the playoffs where I gave you four winners four weeks in a row But I like Jackson Smith in Jigba Higher on point five touchdowns.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_00]: I like Hunter Henry higher on point five touchdowns and if you're wondering why Hunter Henry
- 33:26[SPEAKER_00]: Seattle's the worst team in the red zone against tight ends this season.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_00]: So take that one.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_00]: And the other one that I do really like a lot is Remandre Stevenson.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_00]: His rushing attempt number is 14.5.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_00]: I like lower.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_00]: on that.

- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to the low red zone draw show as I'll set with me and Carl, who's like weeks ago now made the shrine practices actually kicked off in Frisco the week before the senior ball and some big performances actually from some kind of unlikely guys and we'll you know it's easy to touch on the sort of big name guys but some guys that sort of stood out for me and we're just touching them briefly here.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: Caden Wetchen, the kick returner, Hunter Turner,
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: Was it 28.2 yards per punt return?
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's a last year.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: Which is just, how is that real number?
- 35:11[SPEAKER_01]: How is that real number?
- 35:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think you have four punt return touchdowns and a kick return touchdown last year.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_01]: His route tree Iowa was pretty basic.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_01]: Screens, it was flat, it was flats, it's hitches, bubbles, those sorts of things.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: 22 of his 30 targets with behind the line of scrimmages.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_01]: Average route depth was 5.1 yards, which was ranked near the, I think it was fourth worst.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: in the entire FBS.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_01]: But actually, he gets to Frisco, he gets to this rainbow, route running shops off the scale.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: And actually, you could see him in a much more traditional role.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_01]: The salesmanship of routes, the quick foot, the quick footwork, could separate in man.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_01]: I thought at the top of his routes.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_01]: rocker steps and head fakes and shoulder shuffles and little hand techniques, and I don't think you play particularly well down in the red zone and that's not going to be an area where he's necessarily going to be utilized.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_01]: But as a guy, he can just pick big, you know, big first downs on third down those sorts of things.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_01]: I thought we had an excellent performance and he's going to get drafted basically, you know, based on the fact that he's an unbelievable return
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: But what he did at the shrine and as you mentioned in the first half, Guy turns up and just shows you his skills that you maybe weren't expecting.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: And he's put himself in a in a draft of a spot.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_03]: And it's kind of like a last year at the shrine, Jacoree Croskey married was a different position, right?
- 36:30[SPEAKER_03]: But like came into that shrine bowl and had kind of had like a hard path and pinballed around.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_03]: And then he gets to the shrine and everything was like, Oh, it's the smoke.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_03]: This guy's like one of the best cats here, right?
- 36:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, really.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_03]: And for Iowa,
- 36:44[SPEAKER_03]: A dream come true to scout offensive linemen and tight ends at the University of Iowa, why receivers?
- 36:50[SPEAKER_03]: Not so much, but I think the floor with the special teams profile kind of reminds me not to say that like the route running or the physical athleticism profile.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_03]: but you remember Amir Smith Marset from Iowa who was a wide receiver.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_03]: He was a little bit more of this like a vertical shot guy down the field at Iowa, but had that same return game appeal and he went the fifth round.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_03]: So I think that kind of pedigree is a special team's player who can be a bottom of the roster death chart player at wide receiver, but
- 37:26[SPEAKER_03]: Has that appeal, you know, and having this strong showing, I think middle of day three is probably the right kind of place to start having that conversation.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely another guy that I was really impressed with was was was was bow a sharp that the time from from LSU who is.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty much uncoverable in the one on one drills and separates so quickly and footwork and short area bursts.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll get to Ty end in a later later episode, but you've got Kenyan Sadik at the top, although I suspect I think he'll get drafted maybe a little bit lower than people are projecting, but then you've got this kind of whole hot spots of guys, whether that's Oscar Delp or Marlin Klein or Sam Raocial, Michael Trig or Justin Jolie or Miles Kiddselmernol, the Rared Incident Notre Dame,
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's how I was who won the Mackier Ward.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: But all of a sudden, Bauer Sharp kind of put himself right in the mix there in terms of, you know, some really good contested catch work, the ability to track the ball to go down the field.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he looked excellent.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, you are asking to pass protect and you could do that job really well.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: I thought, and I think the same with Mason Taylor last year was able to work in some of those pro formations in terms of,
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: you know what they're able to do pre-snap in terms of some of the in-line staff and yeah Balash art puts himself right in the mix I think with a strong weekend in Friscoe.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, this tight end pipeline is really fascinating when you consider he was in high school quarterback, right?
- 38:49[SPEAKER_03]: And then he goes to southeast of Louisiana and he's kind of like a Tyler Warren Wildcat quarterback while still doing some tight end stuff and
- 39:00[SPEAKER_03]: You just kind of see the pipeline for these guys that are just athletic big guys that eventually kind of make this transition some of them play quarterback all the way through college football and then make the switch right some of them get through high school and then they make it early in their college careers and That's how guys can kind of fall through their cracks a little bit and end up at southeast and Louisiana and then have two years and opportunities at Oklahoma and LSU like shower sharp did so.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_03]: I think there's some needle on the bone there from an athleticism standpoint, and especially in a draft class, like this one, where we're worried about the depth and you're going to be taking priority UDFAs with your draft picks and for some teams with their boards in the 6th and 7th round if you can't trade the picks.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_03]: take the tools guy that made a position swapping and kind of flew under the radar with their their early career at the college level.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_03]: And I certainly don't think the LSU offense got the best best out of him and getting him removed from that two years in a row with Brian Kelly tight end, going to an all-star event, showcasing his got a little something else still him.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_03]: So I think he's a really fascinating day three named to invoke here and that athleticism in that background is going
- 40:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, speaking of interesting day three guys, that Landon Robinson, that the sort of nose guards, stifensive tackles, slash kind of all action defensive lines, or Ian Cummins, describe him as a sort of maniac.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_01]: And he showed some sort of maniac stuff down in Friscoe.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's a three time member of the fellow of Felvin's Freaks List.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a top speed of 20 plus miles per hour, vertical of 33 inches, five, 11.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_01]: two-night Iran, he's like a three-year team captain, I mean there's a couple of ill-hiden right there, a couple of navy kids so I think we'll get drafted.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: He is just a ball of energy, a ball of athleticism, a kind of knee drops to beat double teams, clubs, rips, swims, stunts,
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: Again, it's kind of a crap shoot as you get into those later rounds on day three, but you know, why not take a chance on a kid who just has ticks just an awful lot of boxes in terms of off the field stuff in terms of culture stuff, but also, you know, and come in and potentially make some plays for you and, you know, at the end of a game and you're spending a six or seventh round pick on him.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_03]: And that those that explosive numbers go with a 700 pound back squat and a 465 bench press, right?
- 41:24[SPEAKER_03]: So like, you expect this go compact guys.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_03]: He's not going to have a whole lot of bend in those elbows on that bench press, but nevertheless, like you're talking big time power with with the explosiveness and
- 41:37[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think especially think with some of the changes with the service academies and how they can defer their their obligations and it takes some of that gray area out with or even going to get this guy like how long is it going to be like you know we're going to win a few years.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_03]: this is right up.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_03]: Somebody's alley with a good defensive line coach to kind of say, hey, you know, we have a very specific.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_03]: Even if it's a.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_03]: If you wanted to be a gap shooter, I would not take the 291 and put them in the A gaps, but I would say, hey, we get some passing situations in the preseason.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_03]: I don't roll you out there, and I want to encourage you to really use that explosiveness and try to tee off and see how well he can catch lightning in a bottle.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: Dad was a gymnastic kid in the state and you can kind of see that sort of athletic movement skills and the footwork and those sort of things all conference guy two years in a row, sort of lower level freak designation.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like you say, I think third downs, three seasons stop, that's where you show his metal and hopefully he can stick around.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: Apparently there's a big game at the weekend.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_03]: Real quick, it is real quick.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_03]: It's the best case scenario there.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, what's his name?
- 42:54[SPEAKER_03]: The bowling green kid that's in it.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_03]: That's in with the packers.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Karl Brooks.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, Brooks.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that feels like the best case scenario for a guy like because Carl didn't have length either like, and I know the the the the short arm defensive tackle with twitching is Milton Williams has made a popular.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't know the bag, right, but.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and I'm not saying land in Robinson is is millions by any means, but you have seen subpackage groups that have found more opportunities for roles like this, just based off their quickness and based off, I think in the sim pressure world, you're able to manufacture, I think some more
- 43:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, one all ones for interior players based on like if you're bringing second level pressure and you got that tackle in a big duel and he's going to set outside, but then you you fire that lineback or from inside and drop them out and you you kind of do well to manipulate.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_03]: Protections to get more one all ones on the inside.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: And the modern game, defensively, just does a really good job in 2025, 2026, of finding roles for players like Landon Roberts and who even 10 years ago, 15 years ago.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_01]: And so when I was growing up watching the game 30 years ago, we'd never really have had a role, that's just like, you know, that would have been the end of his career he'd have gone and done, you know, cyber operations or whatever it was, and had a career in the Navy.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_01]: And that's, that's the end of his run.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_01]: But now, you know, like you say, that there's an opportunity
- 44:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's great.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_01]: There is a game on Sunday.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: We are Miami Dolphins fans, so we have just a passing interest in hoping that the CLC box defeat the New England Patriots, but whoever got the weekend, Seattle, New England should be a fascinating game.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think as long as the Seahawks don't need to turn this into a which quarterback where's the Cape Contest better, I think Seattle's very well positioned.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_03]: I think they've got a more complete roster.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_03]: Their defense has just been absolutely prolific against anybody, not named the Los Angeles Rams for the last three months.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_03]: They've been phenomenal.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_03]: I know New England's it's been pulling teeth offensively at times for them.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_03]: The last this past month with the playoff run, but
- 45:06[SPEAKER_03]: credit to their defense for all the turnovers that they've been able to create.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's Seattle front against those two rookie starters on the offensive line.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_03]: And then even just the interior as a whole, obviously, and Wayne used a big player out.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_03]: There's not a lot of guys I would trust to put out there and
- 45:23[SPEAKER_03]: hold the point of attack against and win you, but but Miron Murphy's going to be one of them because he's so damn grown right he's a phenomenal player and I think if you watch him attacks us you're not surprised by that so I think Seattle's got the favorable matchups their challenge is just make sure the game script goes in in order in which you're comfortable with.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_03]: playing field position, taking points, if you get them, trusting your defense, all those things that like we've kind of turned into unsexy things to do in the regular season.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_03]: Like this is not the game to continue to do that, I think.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_03]: I think this is gonna be a low scoring game, but I think as long as Seattle protects the football, I think they're gonna take care of business.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_03]: It's just a matter of if it turns into that kind of contest, I trust Drake May to do a little bit more with his legs and make some more plays happen.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I agree.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_01]: I just think like you.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: I just think, yeah, I'll have too much offensively.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think, you know, the way that they've, the way that clean cubionics move Jackson Smith and jeep around certain the second half of the season, they play us how many of the backfield, you know, motioning into the line for him from a slot, those sorts of things makes it harder for Christian Gonzalez to fall in around, but
- 46:32[SPEAKER_01]: The speed edition of Rashid Jihad is just given the offense and at the level, Cooper Carham what he does, AJ Barner and his development both as a receiver, but also as a blocker, I think.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_01]: And defensively, I just think, you know, a guy like Nicky Malmori is just, you know, the second half of the season, the playoffs, he's just been so dominant.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_01]: and what he's able to do, and with Mike and Donna having two weeks to gain time for this.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, you don't want to see even more just playing spy the whole time, but May is, you know, does such a great job of pocket manipulation and his ability to get to the second level and beyond with his legs.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_01]: But also those kind of, you know,
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: he finds the easy button in terms of just some of the get-out throws and and just McDonald's and such a good job of just having a trade-ve on Henderson or among Drey Stephenson or one of the tight ends just in that second level just to you know things are closing down and that the receivers aren't able to get open and just having that that easy get out and I just wonder whether or not even in words presence will help to to shut that down I think it probably will but I think we're both hoping strongly for a sea horse win on Sunday that's it for this week thank you for listening thank you
- 47:36[SPEAKER_01]: You can catch Carla A to Z sports, there you go, or at car cramps on Twitter, you can catch me on my sub stack, which is down there, which is simply called the low red zone, or I'm at side currency on Twitter.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for listening, thanks for watching, and we'll see you next week.
