- 0:00Speaker 1: Stewie, Congratulations. When you think back.
- 0:03Speaker 2: To this championship game, you've won at every single level,
- 0:06Speaker 2: what would you remember the most about this one.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I think what I'm going to remember most about this
- 0:10Speaker 1: one is just the way that we fought.
- 0:12Speaker 3: You know, I touched on it a little bit, but
- 0:14Speaker 3: this group, you know, I've never played with any of
- 0:16Speaker 3: these players before, and we came together and everybody was.
- 0:19Speaker 1: A pro, came in, got their work done, and we
- 0:22Speaker 1: didn't stop.
- 0:23Speaker 3: You know, we got punched in the mouth in Brooklyn,
- 0:25Speaker 3: we were down sixteen points and we continue to fight.
- 0:27Speaker 1: And that's what we did today, and we're going to
- 0:28Speaker 1: fights at the very end.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Stuwie, it just seemed like there was an intention going
- 0:32Speaker 2: out there in the second half to establish you rolling
- 0:35Speaker 2: to the basket. You were in I think the first
- 0:37Speaker 2: six of seven actions down the court. What was that
- 0:40Speaker 2: conversation like at hat time?
- 0:42Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, Dak he told us that he was
- 0:45Speaker 3: talking to the Phantom assistant coaches and they said that,
- 0:48Speaker 3: you know, we fight back against everybody except them.
- 0:50Speaker 1: So that kind of.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Fueled us a little bit, got us a little bit motivated,
- 0:54Speaker 3: and we were ready to come out their quarter. Everybody
- 0:56Speaker 3: knows their quarter's most important quarter.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Freaky can you hear me? I can hear it all right,
- 1:00Speaker 1: So it's perfect.
- 1:03Speaker 4: So I feel like you were downhill all day today
- 1:06Speaker 4: where there was cuts, whether it was dropping to the basket.
- 1:08Speaker 4: You're lethal from shooting, But was that a conscious effort.
- 1:11Speaker 1: To get in the paint.
- 1:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like our guards were stronger than their guards,
- 1:15Speaker 4: so our main goal was just get to the rim,
- 1:18Speaker 4: get to the basket, make the rest call files, even
- 1:20Speaker 4: though that wasn't happening, but you know, we started finishing,
- 1:22Speaker 4: but definitely if we wanted to try to overpower them
- 1:24Speaker 4: to the room.
- 1:26Speaker 2: What did you all learn about yourself from the semi final?
- 1:28Speaker 2: Because I feel like, listen, everybody's great when everybody everything
- 1:33Speaker 2: is going great, right, But the conversations you have when
- 1:36Speaker 2: you're down by sixteen in that first quarter, I think
- 1:39Speaker 2: the entire crowd was shocked.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I think everybody was.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Shocked watching you guys on a yes, one of those conversations.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Like in the semi.
- 1:46Speaker 4: Finals, we were shocked, but we were still poised. I mean,
- 1:49Speaker 4: having a leader like Stuwie who's been in those positions
- 1:51Speaker 4: a lot, like we followed her lead, but we knew
- 1:53Speaker 4: that wasn't our game, and just we had a lot
- 1:55Speaker 4: of vets, Like I've been watching that you know game
- 1:58Speaker 4: a lot, and like we just walked them down.
- 2:00Speaker 1: It was crazy, like we were just getting stops.
- 2:02Speaker 4: We were scoring, scop scoring, stop scoring, like that's how
- 2:04Speaker 4: you gotta win.
- 2:05Speaker 1: It was definitely the defense. And then you know, Land was.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Stepping up people that you know, maybe aren't the highest scores,
- 2:10Speaker 4: they were stepping up in big time plays.
- 2:11Speaker 1: So that game was really fun.
- 2:12Speaker 4: But I think we just learned like resilience and we
- 2:14Speaker 4: knew that wasn't gonna happen again. We weren't gonna start sixteen,
- 2:17Speaker 4: you know, get down like that again.
- 2:18Speaker 2: You guys something Well, I was going to say, you know, Stuie,
- 2:21Speaker 2: you always talk about your teammates, but you won finals
- 2:23Speaker 2: MVP for a reason.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Yeah, thirty two points a career high.
- 2:26Speaker 2: By the way, congratulations for you your mindset through the
- 2:29Speaker 2: physicality that they were playing with.
- 2:31Speaker 1: How were you able to.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Operate and be so efficient eleven to fifteen from the field.
- 2:35Speaker 1: You were one of the.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Highest scoring playoff players in unrival You know, I think
- 2:39Speaker 3: my mindset was just fortunately I've been in a lot
- 2:42Speaker 3: of these situations. I've been in a lot of championship games,
- 2:45Speaker 3: and it's the simple things, you know, It's really remaining calm,
- 2:48Speaker 3: being confident, and knowing that I have my teammates to
- 2:51Speaker 3: fall back on, so making sure that I'm the aggressor,
- 2:53Speaker 3: I'm getting downhill and really putting the pressure on the
- 2:56Speaker 3: other team to try and stop it.
- 2:58Speaker 2: So what did you guys see to night they kind.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Of win a small ball lineup?
- 3:03Speaker 4: What how did you adjusted that because it was long
- 3:05Speaker 4: stretches where tea Cloud was guarding you, what was that adjustment?
- 3:09Speaker 1: Like, I think we.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Were just trying to, you know, put them in action,
- 3:14Speaker 3: get plumb, get plumb to switch on to me. Especially
- 3:16Speaker 3: if they go smaller, they're usually gonna switch three guards.
- 3:19Speaker 1: And and just move them. If they're gonna you gotta
- 3:21Speaker 1: test it.
- 3:21Speaker 3: You gotta test their off ball screens and see if
- 3:23Speaker 3: we got slipped or we got post ups.
- 3:25Speaker 1: But you saw, you know, the way Reek was getting downhill,
- 3:27Speaker 1: the way uh Be was getting downhill. She was getting downhill.
- 3:30Speaker 3: She just wasn't making it, but she was still putting
- 3:32Speaker 3: pressure on the rim leaps, obviously doing her thing and
- 3:35Speaker 3: and really being aggressive because we knew that that's what
- 3:37Speaker 3: they wanted to do. You know, when they go small,
- 3:39Speaker 3: they have great defenders and they're just trying to get
- 3:41Speaker 3: up and.
- 3:41Speaker 2: In Uh so, Erique, March you like the month? Huh
- 3:48Speaker 2: because I think again we said this in the post game.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I remember time placed when you hit the shots. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:55Speaker 2: March is a great month.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Yeah it really no right, your month, it really is
- 4:00Speaker 4: pissing baby, But we gotta.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Get in something, Mark, Mark mar. We'll work on it.
- 4:09Speaker 1: But tell me, like, what is it.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Do you wake up in March.
- 4:11Speaker 1: And you just are a grand rising? Like right right?
- 4:15Speaker 4: I mean, it's just a it's just getting to it.
- 4:17Speaker 4: I feel like when we're well, when I'm in that moment,
- 4:19Speaker 4: like I rise to it. But it's been a getting
- 4:21Speaker 4: there for me. So you know, I'm glad. You know,
- 4:23Speaker 4: we had her on our side, you know, all these
- 4:25Speaker 4: great players on our side, and I'm just glad we
- 4:26Speaker 4: made the championship and got it.
- 4:27Speaker 1: You know, got it done.
- 4:28Speaker 2: You all did it, and coach O'Brien said, in true
- 4:30Speaker 2: missed faction fashion, playing together.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Efficient, playing on both ends of the floor. There were
- 4:34Speaker 1: so many people at home locked in.
- 4:36Speaker 4: They were tweeting about all of the different performances.
- 4:39Speaker 1: It looked like we got one here. You come, come on.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Everybody else says it, no care, I'm not gonna talk
- 4:51Speaker 1: about you. Keep bringing up. I'm starting to think it's
- 4:54Speaker 1: all purpose.
- 4:55Speaker 4: STUDI wins finals, MVP and things.
- 4:57Speaker 1: We're all gonna say.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Huskies because of it.
- 4:59Speaker 1: But said, okay, we'll give you that one. Thank you both,
- 5:06Speaker 1: Thank you so much for joining us. Congratulations, congratulating, Appreciate you, guys.
