- 0:08Speaker 1: Scar Advice, Shoot Lower, welcome to them, not even Nichelle.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I'm Rob Shooter. It's Thursday, which means our favorite, one
- 0:20Speaker 1: of our favorites. Mark Lupo joins us, Hey Lupie, are
- 0:23Speaker 1: you there? Lupie lewis here? Hey Lupi LUs I'm getting
- 0:26Speaker 1: called out by the Naughties. I say each day, if
- 0:30Speaker 1: you're my favorite, it depends with me each day. But
- 0:34Speaker 1: the mistake I'm making them so flattered is that people
- 0:36Speaker 1: listen to more than one episode. So if you only
- 0:38Speaker 1: listen to one a week, you're like, oh, Rob's favorite,
- 0:41Speaker 1: Mark like your mommy, Doris only listens to Thursday if
- 0:45Speaker 1: you're on it. So Doris does think you are my favorite.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I've just revealed. I will say you have the very
- 0:52Speaker 1: special and unique connection to each one of us. So
- 0:54Speaker 1: we're all your favorites in some whey or another, in
- 0:56Speaker 1: the moment, in the moment, in the moment, you're my favorite. Paborties,
- 1:02Speaker 1: you are always my favorite. Let's jump into the show.
- 1:04Speaker 1: By the time, is it my friends? It is? We
- 1:07Speaker 1: very rarely start the show with just a really nice story.
- 1:11Speaker 1: So because we're in the celebrity gossip business, often stories
- 1:15Speaker 1: are a little bit cheeky, a little bit naughty. There's
- 1:17Speaker 1: nothing naughty about this. It's just the nicest story that
- 1:20Speaker 1: I've heard in maybe a month. I really can't wait
- 1:23Speaker 1: to share it. So an intern is claiming that Jennifer
- 1:26Speaker 1: Aniston went out of her way to make him look good.
- 1:30Speaker 1: So in his upcoming book, a gentleman called Joe parder
- 1:35Speaker 1: Villa reveals that the actress went out of rand him
- 1:38Speaker 1: an interviewer when he was an intern at the Scott
- 1:42Speaker 1: and Todd Morning Show on nine five p l J.
- 1:47Speaker 1: That's a New York station. I told a little bit,
- 1:50Speaker 1: and so they've been on FO forever. He recalled that
- 1:52Speaker 1: back in n he was sent to track down Jennifer
- 1:58Speaker 1: Anderston for an exclusive interview. Now, as an intern, he
- 2:01Speaker 1: had no idea that the chance of that happening was zero,
- 2:04Speaker 1: But they just sent him out with a recorder and said,
- 2:07Speaker 1: go and talk to Jen. She's in New York filming
- 2:11Speaker 1: a movie. Go down and get an interview. It's a
- 2:13Speaker 1: wonderful thing. So he turned up at the set and
- 2:18Speaker 1: he immediately was stopped by Jen's bodyguard who saw him
- 2:23Speaker 1: and sends when he was about to do and made
- 2:25Speaker 1: a b line straight to him, and he stopped it
- 2:28Speaker 1: right away, so holding up his microphone in a really
- 2:31Speaker 1: sort of smoothing and innocent tone, and Joe said, Hey,
- 2:35Speaker 1: I'm only here to ask Jenn a couple of questions,
- 2:37Speaker 1: that's all. The guard was having none of it, and
- 2:41Speaker 1: his tone was neither soothing or innocent. So the bodyguard
- 2:46Speaker 1: was pretty tough about this. Jen heard the commotion and
- 2:49Speaker 1: she came out of a trailer and she said, I
- 2:52Speaker 1: just can't do it now. I'm sort of busy. And
- 2:55Speaker 1: then he returned to the radio station and he said
- 2:57Speaker 1: I didn't get the interview, and they're like, ah, guess
- 3:00Speaker 1: what happened. Jen's assistant and said, Jen feels really badly
- 3:06Speaker 1: about what happened, and bring your mike Dan and she'll
- 3:09Speaker 1: give you an interview. Oh oh, Jen, it's so sweet.
- 3:15Speaker 1: It is so sweet. Rob It's so funny. I happen
- 3:17Speaker 1: to know Joe a little bit what he was a
- 3:21Speaker 1: commentator on Wendy Williams for many years, kind of like
- 3:23Speaker 1: how you were on the inside streets. He is the
- 3:26Speaker 1: sweetest man, so soft spoken. I can't even imagine sending
- 3:30Speaker 1: out someone like him, because when you're doing this like
- 3:32Speaker 1: you have to be at pit Bull, like you have
- 3:33Speaker 1: to go in and be confident and like go after
- 3:36Speaker 1: it as an intern, as a soft spoken guy like
- 3:38Speaker 1: he is. Oh my god, he was set up. But
- 3:40Speaker 1: I love this. I love this, and Jenna was so
- 3:43Speaker 1: sweet about it. I love it. I've worked for tons
- 3:46Speaker 1: of celebrities. They just don't do this. They don't do it.
- 3:49Speaker 1: So for Jend to do it, it it might not sound
- 3:51Speaker 1: like a big deal. It's just a couple of questions.
- 3:53Speaker 1: It's so easy. They don't do it. Their schedules are busy,
- 3:55Speaker 1: they don't want to do press. All their interviews are
- 3:57Speaker 1: scheduled months months in advance, and they don't just sort
- 4:00Speaker 1: of take questions on the fly. They're not set up
- 4:03Speaker 1: like that. Jen certainly isn't set up by that like that.
- 4:06Speaker 1: So for her to do this is just delicious. I
- 4:08Speaker 1: love the fact you know him, and I love the
- 4:10Speaker 1: fact he's still in the business. I think he has
- 4:12Speaker 1: a book coming out, so paidticks are reporting this, and
- 4:14Speaker 1: they've got an advance of his book. So once the
- 4:17Speaker 1: book comes out, Joe or level level lower, we'll plug it,
- 4:19Speaker 1: will plug it here on our show. It's so sweet,
- 4:21Speaker 1: Like you said, you've either got to be a pit
- 4:24Speaker 1: buller to pull this off, or just so sweet and innocent,
- 4:28Speaker 1: you are almost naive. I've had lots of interns over
- 4:32Speaker 1: the years, and actually sometimes the most successful are the
- 4:36Speaker 1: most naive interns because they just ask anything, and sometimes
- 4:41Speaker 1: it's a lesson in life. If you ask, the answer
- 4:44Speaker 1: might be yes, it's true. I have a funny story
- 4:47Speaker 1: for you about an internet Wendy you Uh. Summer High
- 4:50Speaker 1: was our guest on the show, and it was like
- 4:51Speaker 1: one of our biggest celebrities of our time. We had
- 4:54Speaker 1: an intern and and someone was like, I need a
- 4:56Speaker 1: double espresso, please immediately, I need before I go on.
- 5:00Speaker 1: We sent her out. Hours went by were like this
- 5:02Speaker 1: girl disappeared. Where did she go? She got hit by
- 5:05Speaker 1: a car. I could do not and then came back
- 5:08Speaker 1: with the coffee for someone. She came back with the
- 5:11Speaker 1: coffee for Sommer Hike Mike. The most amazing story. It's
- 5:19Speaker 1: amazing story. I love this story. I love this story.
- 5:22Speaker 1: But we want to know what you think about this.
- 5:25Speaker 1: So an intern is claiming that Jennifer Anderson went out
- 5:28Speaker 1: of her way to make him look good when he
- 5:32Speaker 1: worked for a local radio show. Are you surprised. Are
- 5:36Speaker 1: you surprised Jen did this? Or is that who she is?
- 5:39Speaker 1: Are you surprised? Hey? Let us know. Go to at
- 5:41Speaker 1: Twitter page at naughty nice Robber on Facebook page which
- 5:45Speaker 1: is naughty does it? And sure to check back tomorrow
- 5:49Speaker 1: to hear your results. Hey, Mark, what are you working on? Okay,
- 5:52Speaker 1: So we're taking a bit of a left turn here,
- 5:54Speaker 1: more serious story. He didn't panty here has been has
- 5:56Speaker 1: opened up about her addiction to opiates and alcohol and
- 5:59Speaker 1: an explosive a new interview Rob I know okay, So,
- 6:02Speaker 1: the thirty two year old actress says she is now
- 6:04Speaker 1: sober after privately struggling with addiction and at Her heavy
- 6:09Speaker 1: substance abuse coincided with her abusive relationship with Brian Brian Hickerson,
- 6:15Speaker 1: whom she had dated for on and off for four years.
- 6:17Speaker 1: So in the interview, Rob Penatier said, it was a
- 6:20Speaker 1: very dark and complicated time in my life, but a
- 6:23Speaker 1: lot of women go through it, and I want people
- 6:25Speaker 1: to know it's okay to ask for help now. They
- 6:28Speaker 1: began dating Rob in two thousand and eighteen and then
- 6:32Speaker 1: in the following year he was issued a protective order
- 6:35Speaker 1: or she I should say it was issued a protective
- 6:37Speaker 1: order as he was charged with domestic violence. Now in
- 6:41Speaker 1: one he went to jail for another issue related to
- 6:44Speaker 1: domestic violence, and after he was released, they were seen
- 6:48Speaker 1: hanging out in March which they were involved in this
- 6:50Speaker 1: huge bar of fight, which I'm sure you guys remember.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Of that fight, she said, it was not my best behavior.
- 6:56Speaker 1: It was not anyone's best behavior. Acting was my life.
- 6:59Speaker 1: But I felt so bad about myself that I last
- 7:01Speaker 1: trust in myself and that was very detrimental. Wow, what
- 7:05Speaker 1: do you think it's shocking? I mean, we've heard rumors
- 7:08Speaker 1: about her. One of the quotes in the interview, she
- 7:11Speaker 1: did it on the cover of People magazine. She said
- 7:13Speaker 1: she was on the top of the world and she
- 7:15Speaker 1: ruined it. I've seen this happen quite a few time,
- 7:19Speaker 1: not just to celebrities, but also friends of mine who
- 7:22Speaker 1: got big jobs. They blew it and it was their insecurities.
- 7:26Speaker 1: They say, it's self destruction, that you just don't feel
- 7:30Speaker 1: like you're worthy of success. And that's something I think
- 7:34Speaker 1: we all need to think about. The more successful we become,
- 7:38Speaker 1: are we going to welcome it or are we going
- 7:40Speaker 1: to fight it? Now it seems quite obvious that the
- 7:43Speaker 1: answer is to welcome it, but that's not always the truth.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Some people can be really self destructive. I've seen people
- 7:51Speaker 1: who get their own TV shows and then they go
- 7:53Speaker 1: out drinking all night and they turn up hungover and sloppy.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Everybody around them knows what they're doing, but they don't,
- 8:00Speaker 1: and you can't tell them because until they figure it
- 8:03Speaker 1: out themselves, it will never ever be solved. I'm very
- 8:07Speaker 1: disciplined about this. I'm not self destructive. I'm sloppy on
- 8:11Speaker 1: the weekend, and don't get me wrong about that, But
- 8:13Speaker 1: if I've got to work morning, or a big, big
- 8:17Speaker 1: interview or something coming up that I really have to
- 8:19Speaker 1: focus on, I've been bed by nine o'clock. You never
- 8:22Speaker 1: see me out drinking or being naughty when I have
- 8:26Speaker 1: a big moment. Where are you? Mark? Are you self destructive?
- 8:29Speaker 1: That's what I admire so much about you, Rob, is
- 8:31Speaker 1: that we've worked together for years now, and you always
- 8:33Speaker 1: are such a true professional. You always show up prepared
- 8:36Speaker 1: and ready. You're not drunk, you or not sloppy. You
- 8:38Speaker 1: do the work. You have fun. Like you're saying, you
- 8:40Speaker 1: go out and have fun and have fun to love
- 8:42Speaker 1: you are? You are a professional, and this makes me sad.
- 8:44Speaker 1: You know, I've covered the story for US Weekly for years,
- 8:47Speaker 1: and I was in touch with Brian's brother and Brian
- 8:51Speaker 1: and the family and just trying to understand what this
- 8:53Speaker 1: problem was. And it's like, it seems like Hayden surrounded
- 8:56Speaker 1: herself with some really dark, low quality people and the
- 9:00Speaker 1: kind of stuck in a place that she has been
- 9:02Speaker 1: stuck in for years. And I'm really happy to hear
- 9:03Speaker 1: that she's now sober and she's releasing from this. Yeah,
- 9:07Speaker 1: she looks really great, she sounds great. And you make
- 9:10Speaker 1: that decision, you decide who to surround yourself by. There
- 9:14Speaker 1: was a moment in my PR days when I was
- 9:16Speaker 1: more destructive and I felt like I was the king
- 9:19Speaker 1: of New York. You couldn't get to j L without
- 9:21Speaker 1: calling me, and a lot of people came into my
- 9:23Speaker 1: life who wanted access basically to Jennifer, but they had
- 9:26Speaker 1: to go through me. So I found myself going out
- 9:29Speaker 1: with people and drinking with people, and they were always paying,
- 9:32Speaker 1: but they wanted something. And then one day I remember
- 9:35Speaker 1: looking around and I've got no friends left. I just
- 9:37Speaker 1: got these sort of people that were like hangers on,
- 9:41Speaker 1: like they just I know, and I vowed to myself.
- 9:44Speaker 1: I know who my friends are. I know the difference
- 9:46Speaker 1: because of what we do for a living, Because of
- 9:48Speaker 1: what we all do for a living, we have people
- 9:50Speaker 1: who want to be friends with us because of our jobs.
- 9:52Speaker 1: And that's fine. And you've got to have colleagues, You've
- 9:54Speaker 1: gotta network. I'm not telling you not to do that,
- 9:57Speaker 1: but know the difference. I know my work friends, I
- 9:59Speaker 1: know my real friends. Hey, moving along. Kate Middleton's dress
- 10:03Speaker 1: at Wimbledon had a very deep meaning to it. So
- 10:06Speaker 1: Kate was spotted in a blue poker dot t dress
- 10:09Speaker 1: at Wimbledon. I love the name of that. He was
- 10:12Speaker 1: designed by Alexandra Rich and it happened to tie in
- 10:16Speaker 1: with the theme of this year's championship. Kate wore the
- 10:20Speaker 1: dress also last month to the Jubilee, So Kate's now
- 10:24Speaker 1: reusing dresses, which was unheard of for the royal family before.
- 10:28Speaker 1: It's like celebrities. Remember when a celebrity, if they wore
- 10:30Speaker 1: it once, they could never wear it again, or if
- 10:32Speaker 1: another celebrity wore it, they didn't want to wear it.
- 10:36Speaker 1: That's changed now and I think people like seeing people
- 10:39Speaker 1: wear a dress over another member Tiffany Haddish that won dress.
- 10:45Speaker 1: She had one fabulous dress to everything, and she admitted it.
- 10:50Speaker 1: She said, I spent like six thousand dollars wear it
- 10:54Speaker 1: fifty times or Kate started to wear the same dresses.
- 10:58Speaker 1: And what it had to do with the tournament is
- 11:00Speaker 1: that it was a sustainable theme. I like these little
- 11:03Speaker 1: details in life. I call it being thoughtful, just when
- 11:06Speaker 1: you've got the time or the money or the staff,
- 11:09Speaker 1: which take has I know we all don't have the
- 11:11Speaker 1: time to do this, but if you've got a palace
- 11:13Speaker 1: full of staff, I would tell them everything I wear.
- 11:17Speaker 1: I want it to be thoughtful. I want to reason
- 11:19Speaker 1: behind it. What do you think? Well exactly? And they
- 11:22Speaker 1: know that everyone's looking to them for advice for fashion
- 11:25Speaker 1: and and so we're seeing this as the common people.
- 11:27Speaker 1: We're taking the cue from them. But me and you, Rob,
- 11:30Speaker 1: we shopped to our podcast dressed. However, every week it's
- 11:34Speaker 1: like you're you're a snappy dress of that. When I
- 11:36Speaker 1: meet you out on a night, when I meet you
- 11:38Speaker 1: in your living room, we all look pretty casual here,
- 11:42Speaker 1: but on a night out, you dress up, mark you,
- 11:45Speaker 1: thank you, you make an effort. I do. I try
- 11:49Speaker 1: because it's important to make an efforts. It says a
- 11:50Speaker 1: lot about yourself to the world. Right. You want to
- 11:53Speaker 1: help people, You care about what you're doing and what
- 11:55Speaker 1: you what you stand for. So and I've never seen
- 11:57Speaker 1: your hair messy up. Just this is I woke up
- 12:02Speaker 1: like this jealous. Moving along, Tom Hanks, he's waiting in
- 12:09Speaker 1: on a controversy about this new animated movie. Explain what's
- 12:13Speaker 1: going on. Yeah, So, Tom Hanks voiced Woody in the
- 12:16Speaker 1: original Toy Stories films, and he commented on Tim Allen
- 12:20Speaker 1: not being cast in the role for light Year, which
- 12:23Speaker 1: instead stars Chris Evans. Okay, So Hanks was asked if
- 12:27Speaker 1: it was strange to have his new movie Elvis and
- 12:29Speaker 1: which he plays Elvis is Pressley's manager in theater's opposite
- 12:33Speaker 1: of the buzz Lightyear film, and he replied saying, how
- 12:37Speaker 1: about that I wanted to go head to head with
- 12:39Speaker 1: Tim Allen and they didn't let Tim Allen do it.
- 12:42Speaker 1: I don't understand, but rob. So Ultimately Tom did say
- 12:47Speaker 1: that he's glad people are returning to the theater after
- 12:50Speaker 1: the COVID nineteen shutdown, said the cheeky PA. So he's
- 12:55Speaker 1: like Tom Hanks is so funny. He's like our I
- 12:56Speaker 1: don't know, the dad of America. So it's just a
- 12:58Speaker 1: good guy. He's a good guy, easily diplomatic. But he
- 13:01Speaker 1: did say he appreciates people coming back to theater and
- 13:03Speaker 1: he's there. We are can kind of walk away having
- 13:05Speaker 1: a general understanding of something new. But you know, he
- 13:08Speaker 1: did he did say it. He did, he did say
- 13:10Speaker 1: And there's some controversy about this. I know for a
- 13:14Speaker 1: fact that Tim Allen he's not happy that he's no
- 13:16Speaker 1: longer playing a light Year and so Chris Evans is there.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Some people are saying it's because of Tim's politics that
- 13:23Speaker 1: he's a conservative. I don't know if it's just brushing
- 13:26Speaker 1: up a franchise, making it a little bit more fresh.
- 13:29Speaker 1: I mean, Tim Allen, Chris Evans, you mail a lot
- 13:38Speaker 1: of money from this. I don't know if this one
- 13:40Speaker 1: is as much drama as people are making it out
- 13:43Speaker 1: to be. Hey, quickly, before we get a break. Noah Cyrus,
- 13:46Speaker 1: who is Miley Cyrus's little sister, used to deny being
- 13:51Speaker 1: her sister. So she's opening up about her struggles growing
- 13:54Speaker 1: up in the shadow of Miley Cyrus, who at the
- 13:57Speaker 1: time was at the height of her success with Anna Montana.
- 14:00Speaker 1: She said she even denied being her sister. Quote, I
- 14:04Speaker 1: had a really hard time being part of a public family,
- 14:07Speaker 1: and I struggled a bit with that because it wasn't
- 14:10Speaker 1: exactly my choice. That's right. No, I had nothing to
- 14:14Speaker 1: do with this. She just like was there and the
- 14:17Speaker 1: whole family is famous, and I was like, thinking about this.
- 14:22Speaker 1: I have always been a bit in the shadow of
- 14:24Speaker 1: my sister Christine. If you ever meet her, I'm the
- 14:27Speaker 1: quiet one, so you can just see how annoying she is.
- 14:30Speaker 1: But what about you, Mark, You're the older brother of
- 14:32Speaker 1: you and Jonathan. Yes, so maybe Jonathan feels that you're
- 14:35Speaker 1: the Miley Cyrus. What do you think, Well, it's funny
- 14:38Speaker 1: because he shines in other ways. He's an athlete, he's
- 14:41Speaker 1: as he oh, my guide in high school and in
- 14:43Speaker 1: all the sports he excelled in, But in in career wise,
- 14:47Speaker 1: I think I maybe I'll shine him a little bit,
- 14:49Speaker 1: not in a mean way, but just we do different things.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I have more attention on me than what I do.
- 14:54Speaker 1: A very flashy job. You had great and Jonathan doesn't
- 14:57Speaker 1: have that flashier job. So if I was look into Jonathan,
- 15:00Speaker 1: would he feel a little bit like Noah Cyrus or no. Well,
- 15:04Speaker 1: I do remind him when he's not listening that you
- 15:06Speaker 1: bring him up after and I think he actually gets
- 15:08Speaker 1: really excited about the fact that you know who he is,
- 15:10Speaker 1: that we talk about him on the show. He loved Jonathan,
- 15:14Speaker 1: we love him. Behave We're going to take a quick
- 15:15Speaker 1: break and we will be right back. Welcome back to
- 15:20Speaker 1: the Naughty but Night Show. And now Jonathan's listening because
- 15:23Speaker 1: Mark told him we were speaking about him. Hey Jonathan, Hello,
- 15:27Speaker 1: that's Mark's brother. Hey, let's get to the polls dot do.
- 15:31Speaker 1: So yesterday we talked about Wendy Williams. They've removed her
- 15:34Speaker 1: YouTube page and her website and her Instagram account and
- 15:38Speaker 1: it just is a little shady. Yeah, like it doesn't
- 15:41Speaker 1: feel right. I know. I spoke about this yesterday. Wendy
- 15:45Speaker 1: wanted those. Her new management team was like, can we
- 15:47Speaker 1: have them? There's over a million followers on her Instagram page.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Now Wendy only has about a hundred thousand. Do you
- 15:55Speaker 1: think they are trying to raise Wendy? Are they trying
- 16:00Speaker 1: to just the raise Wendy. Let's have a look at
- 16:02Speaker 1: the Pole said, yeah, you know, I sort of get
- 16:06Speaker 1: it here as a corporation, as a company. Then I
- 16:09Speaker 1: focused on Sherry, the new products they should be. That's
- 16:12Speaker 1: their priority. And I think when you leave a job,
- 16:14Speaker 1: it doesn't matter if you're Wendy Williams or you leave
- 16:16Speaker 1: a job in your shop or a restaurant, your old news.
- 16:19Speaker 1: It's hard to admit that. But when I've left jobs,
- 16:22Speaker 1: I've wanted them to like really miss me, and they
- 16:25Speaker 1: move on pretty fast. Think, yeah, you know, I worked
- 16:28Speaker 1: at Wendy Williams for eight seasons. Transparently speaking, Um, the
- 16:31Speaker 1: thing is this, it's that the show. When you show
- 16:33Speaker 1: pictures and videos on a on a show like Wendy,
- 16:36Speaker 1: you have to pay for that stuff. So there's a
- 16:38Speaker 1: lot of clearances and right to go along with that,
- 16:40Speaker 1: and so it's not forever. You sign it up for
- 16:41Speaker 1: a few years, five years, eight years, so to keep
- 16:44Speaker 1: it going, I think it's a renegotiate contracts. So I
- 16:47Speaker 1: think there might be hope down the line you might
