- 0:01Speaker 1: This is Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous in Depth.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Hey everyone, welcome to the Almost Famous podcast special episode
- 0:10Speaker 1: because Amanda Stanton is here giving us her first interview
- 0:14Speaker 1: since announcing her pregnancy. Hello Amanda, Hello. Unfortunately Ben can't
- 0:21Speaker 1: be here today, he's traveling, so I thought we just
- 0:23Speaker 1: have some girl talk, of course about pregnancy and kids
- 0:25Speaker 1: and all that. So you, you and Michael, how long
- 0:29Speaker 1: has it been since you got married? I feel like
- 0:30Speaker 1: your anniversary must be coming up.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Our anniversary is in September, so almost a year. Yeah,
- 0:37Speaker 2: the first year goes by so fast.
- 0:39Speaker 1: So fast, but every single one afterwards goes by just
- 0:43Speaker 1: as fast, because we just did four years. Can you
- 0:45Speaker 1: believe my anniversary four years ago? No, that's crazy, insane time.
- 0:51Speaker 2: I swear once you time goes to kids, sir.
- 0:54Speaker 1: It is got to be the kids thing. So I
- 0:56Speaker 1: know that, I know that you wanted to. You haven't
- 0:59Speaker 1: an what the gender is? The sex? Yes, and I
- 1:04Speaker 1: won't tell you. I won't ask you now unless you're
- 1:06Speaker 1: wanting to give us an exclusive. Not yet.
- 1:09Speaker 2: It's funny. We found out a while ago, so we
- 1:11Speaker 2: already did like a little gender reveal just for like
- 1:14Speaker 2: the family. And I'll probably announce next week. I think, Okay,
- 1:19Speaker 2: I'm so excited.
- 1:20Speaker 1: You've kind of been not so subtle that you do
- 1:22Speaker 1: want a boy since you have the two girls, Kinsey
- 1:25Speaker 1: and Charlie, who I can't believe that they are eleven
- 1:28Speaker 1: and nine. Wow, and that crazy in sixth grade she.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Started middle school, which is so weird. I don't feel
- 1:36Speaker 2: like I am old enough to have a middle schooler.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Like it's it's crazy.
- 1:40Speaker 1: It is you still. I feel like you are like
- 1:42Speaker 1: a young mom, but you're not like that. You're like
- 1:45Speaker 1: you're thirty three.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Thirty three.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like not that weird. Yeah, yeah, you're young,
- 1:51Speaker 1: of course, it's not like weird. Right, all right, So
- 1:55Speaker 1: I know that you kind of want a boy, but
- 1:57Speaker 1: like I'll let you. I'm sure you'll be happy with either.
- 2:00Speaker 1: And that the girls do the girls do they have
- 2:01Speaker 1: a preference.
- 2:04Speaker 2: They honestly don't really care at first, char like Charlie
- 2:07Speaker 2: wanted a sister, yeah, and kids wanted a brother. I
- 2:12Speaker 2: just think like I wouldn't be disappointed, like if it
- 2:15Speaker 2: were a girl. But I think just already having two girls,
- 2:19Speaker 2: having a boy would be so much fun. And I
- 2:20Speaker 2: feel like I've seen like all my friends have had
- 2:23Speaker 2: boys so many and they're so cute, and I feel
- 2:26Speaker 2: like they're such mommies boys or mommy yeah, mom's boys.
- 2:30Speaker 2: So that was kind of and I honestly, I don't
- 2:33Speaker 2: want to say too much actually, like he's getting nervous
- 2:36Speaker 2: him and it gives something away because I feel like
- 2:38Speaker 2: everyone's already like a detective.
- 2:41Speaker 1: But that's awesome.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I won't be disappointed either way.
- 2:44Speaker 1: So tell us the whole thing. You were trying to
- 2:46Speaker 1: have a baby, yes, yes, and no.
- 2:49Speaker 2: So we originally were going to start trying like after
- 2:54Speaker 2: when You're anniversary in September, but I really really wanted
- 2:57Speaker 2: to be pregnant by the end of the year. So
- 3:00Speaker 2: and I know, like sometimes it can take a really
- 3:02Speaker 2: long time, and we just weren't sure. So we're like, okay,
- 3:05Speaker 2: well maybe we just like start not being careful a
- 3:09Speaker 2: little a little sooner. So we stopped. We started like
- 3:13Speaker 2: not being careful, I want to say, in like April May,
- 3:17Speaker 2: and it happened pretty shortly after that.
- 3:18Speaker 1: So wow, yeah, congratulations, thank you. When I wasn't feeling
- 3:24Speaker 1: good during my pregnancy, I remember texting you. You were
- 3:28Speaker 1: one of my few mom friends at the time, and
- 3:30Speaker 1: now I feel like there's more mom more friends of
- 3:33Speaker 1: becoming moms. And you were like, I was quite awful
- 3:37Speaker 1: the first trimester, very sick. How has it been this
- 3:40Speaker 1: time around, and especially now that you've taken like a
- 3:43Speaker 1: nine year break.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Honestly, I was like I had nausea with the girls,
- 3:49Speaker 2: but I never really like got sick sick where it
- 3:51Speaker 2: was like growing up every day. And honestly, this time,
- 3:54Speaker 2: I want to say, like my pregnancy's been the exact
- 3:57Speaker 2: same as both kinds in char like, same symptoms, same cravings.
- 4:01Speaker 2: I like, kind of meet a version with kid like
- 4:04Speaker 2: I couldn't meet anything gross, same thing this time, like
- 4:08Speaker 2: I feel the exact same, which is so weird.
- 4:10Speaker 1: People say, oh, every pregnancy is different, but I have
- 4:14Speaker 1: not found that when talking to people, you know, everybody.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Says people say, it's the same.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Yeah, if I was really sick, like they're really sick
- 4:23Speaker 1: the second time, and then if you're okay, it's usually
- 4:26Speaker 1: just like you're an okay pregnant lady, So good for
- 4:28Speaker 1: good for everyone who's an okay pregnant lady. And I
- 4:31Speaker 1: guess are you past that now now that you I
- 4:33Speaker 1: am assuming like you're like four months.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Yeah, close to that, close to four months ish, but yeah,
- 4:39Speaker 2: I know, I've been feeling really good. I feel like
- 4:41Speaker 2: second trimester is the best. I have so much energy.
- 4:43Speaker 2: I forget that I'm pregnant sometimes, but yeah, it's right.
- 4:48Speaker 1: That's amazing. I cannot relate. How are you guys preparing
- 4:53Speaker 1: for the baby?
- 4:53Speaker 2: Like?
- 4:53Speaker 1: Is Michael? It's Michael's first, So is he excited nervous?
- 4:58Speaker 1: Does he know what kind of life changes ahead? Did
- 5:00Speaker 1: the girls kind of the girl's given him training in parenting.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I feel like it's so interesting because he's never been
- 5:07Speaker 2: around like a baby baby before. He doesn't have any
- 5:09Speaker 2: experience with that. But I think, just like having the girls,
- 5:12Speaker 2: even though they're older and then more self sufficient, like he's,
- 5:16Speaker 2: it's not going to be like that huge life change
- 5:18Speaker 2: where like we're used to it just being us and
- 5:19Speaker 2: we can do whatever we want and all of a sudden,
- 5:22Speaker 2: you know, like we're used to having that responsibility. So
- 5:25Speaker 2: I think he's not nervous yet, But I also think
- 5:28Speaker 2: he doesn't know what to expect where like I do,
- 5:31Speaker 2: like I know how the newborn phase is, and he
- 5:33Speaker 2: has no idea. But he he's generally like a lot
- 5:37Speaker 2: calmer than I am, so I think he'll be good.
- 5:41Speaker 1: How do you imagine those few first months being Are
- 5:43Speaker 1: you gonna like split the time waking up? Is he
- 5:45Speaker 1: expecting to to switch off diaper duty and all that.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it's funny because he is very particular with things
- 5:54Speaker 2: in the house, like even like doing the dishes or cooking,
- 5:57Speaker 2: Like I don't really cook or clean or doing anything,
- 6:00Speaker 2: because even if I want to help and like do
- 6:02Speaker 2: the dishes, he doesn't like the way I do the dishes,
- 6:04Speaker 2: like he likes the way he does the dishes. I'm like, okay,
- 6:07Speaker 2: that's fine. And I feel like it's going to be
- 6:09Speaker 2: the same with the baby, like he's going to want
- 6:11Speaker 2: to have Like he's going to want to change the
- 6:12Speaker 2: diaper because you like the way that he does it,
- 6:14Speaker 2: which is fine by me. I'll probably get a lot
- 6:17Speaker 2: more sleep this time around. I'm sure we'll take the durance.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Are you guys playing a baby moon? Because I know
- 6:25Speaker 1: that you just spent a good amount of time in Hawaii,
- 6:27Speaker 1: and I know that I saw comments under you some
- 6:30Speaker 1: of your pictures that were like, just announce the baby already.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I didn't think that you were like showing or doing
- 6:35Speaker 1: anything specific to pregnancy, did you Okay?
- 6:39Speaker 2: No? And I thought it was so weird because so
- 6:42Speaker 2: many people like, you're pregnant, you're pregnant, and I'm like,
- 6:47Speaker 2: and I was, And I'm just like, how did they know?
- 6:49Speaker 2: Like I didn't feel like I looked pregnant that I
- 6:52Speaker 2: was posting anything like it. So I was just so confused,
- 6:55Speaker 2: and I was, I mean, people started noticing when I
- 6:58Speaker 2: was like so early on, and yeah, I mean I'm
- 7:01Speaker 2: curious as to like what I was doing that was
- 7:04Speaker 2: like giving off this like pregnancy vibe. But as far
- 7:08Speaker 2: as the baby moon goes, I mean, I hope. So
- 7:10Speaker 2: I feel like I'm doing such like a weird time.
- 7:12Speaker 2: I'm doing January, so it's like the holidays. Yeah, Like
- 7:16Speaker 2: it's hard to really like even a baby shower, and
- 7:19Speaker 2: like I did one in like September October. I don't
- 7:21Speaker 2: want to do it when I'm huge at the end
- 7:24Speaker 2: and then the holidays are so hectic. So we'll see.
- 7:27Speaker 2: If not, maybe we'll do a little trip after the
- 7:30Speaker 2: baby's born a few months later.
- 7:32Speaker 1: It's probably when you need it most, right, I think. So, well, okay,
- 7:37Speaker 1: so baby baby shower, what's the norm, Like, did you
- 7:40Speaker 1: have one? For Charlie. Like I know that most people
- 7:43Speaker 1: will have it for the first but then if you
- 7:44Speaker 1: have such a gap in between your kids, I think
- 7:47Speaker 1: it's totally fine to have another one. And if the
- 7:50Speaker 1: sex is different, totally you could have another one, right,
- 7:53Speaker 1: So I don't want to like assume anything, but like,
- 7:56Speaker 1: did you save this stuff from the girls? You have
- 7:59Speaker 1: bassinets and no.
- 8:01Speaker 2: And it's so funny too, because like everything I went
- 8:05Speaker 2: to the like there's a baby List showroom and Beverly.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Hills right now where they like everything.
- 8:10Speaker 2: It was so much fun. But I went there and
- 8:13Speaker 2: I'm like, none of this stuff existed when I had
- 8:16Speaker 2: kids in char like all the new like technology, like
- 8:19Speaker 2: the little socks they can wear, the track the loved
- 8:22Speaker 2: that art. Yeah, it's like it's crazy. So I didn't
- 8:26Speaker 2: have any of that stuff. I mean I remember, do
- 8:28Speaker 2: you know like what the bob stroller is. It's like
- 8:30Speaker 2: a jogging stroller.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I don't have that, but I have the Vista,
- 8:35Speaker 1: the you know, the the upper baby.
- 8:37Speaker 2: See that that Like that didn't exist when I when
- 8:40Speaker 2: I had them, like everyone had it was the Bob
- 8:42Speaker 2: and that's what like everyone had. It was like the
- 8:44Speaker 2: post stroller at the time, but I don't have it anymore.
- 8:47Speaker 2: And I had a baby shower for kids, I didn't
- 8:49Speaker 2: have one for char this time. I feel like, I mean,
- 8:53Speaker 2: so much time is gone by and everything's so new,
- 8:56Speaker 2: so I think we might. Yeah, and especially just because
- 9:00Speaker 2: like it's Michael's first. His mom's like so excited she
- 9:03Speaker 2: wants to do the whole baby shower things, so you
- 9:05Speaker 2: probably will.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, And now like not to sound you know,
- 9:09Speaker 1: you know you're you're Amanda from The Bachelor. You know,
- 9:11Speaker 1: it's just like we have to see your aesthetic baby shower.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Oh my god. Wait, speaking of it's kind of crazy,
- 9:19Speaker 2: like how did you tell Jared that you were pregnant?
- 9:24Speaker 1: Okay? Oh I love this story. Okay, so like weird,
- 9:30Speaker 1: weird details, but like my cycle was a little weird
- 9:33Speaker 1: that month, so we I imagined that I had skipped my
- 9:37Speaker 1: fertile window because it came earlier than expected, and we
- 9:43Speaker 1: had like one day where it would have worked, okay,
- 9:46Speaker 1: and it happened to have been the one day, and
- 9:51Speaker 1: I was like, just out of curiosity. When we were trying,
- 9:55Speaker 1: I'd always take a pregnancy test and then this one
- 9:58Speaker 1: time there was like the faintest line, and I was like,
- 10:01Speaker 1: that's I was like, Jared, this is so crazy, but
- 10:03Speaker 1: like there's a fake, there's a faint second line. And
- 10:07Speaker 1: he was like, you're not pregnant. And you know this
- 10:09Speaker 1: after like seven months of trying, and then we had
- 10:11Speaker 1: like one day, right.
- 10:13Speaker 2: And then.
- 10:15Speaker 1: One day in the fertile window out of like the
- 10:17Speaker 1: four fertile windows, guys, four fertile days, and then he
- 10:22Speaker 1: was like, we'll try again tomorrow. And then the next
- 10:24Speaker 1: day it was we were waiting for it and waiting
- 10:27Speaker 1: for it, and then there was like a blank test,
- 10:28Speaker 1: like the screen after the whole like minute swirly, it
- 10:32Speaker 1: was blank and we were like, okay, well, I guess
- 10:35Speaker 1: we'll go back to CBS tomorrow. And then we got
- 10:39Speaker 1: one in that one day and we just watched it
- 10:41Speaker 1: together and we were like recording and he was like,
- 10:44Speaker 1: I'm not even gonna look at the camera. I'm gonna
- 10:46Speaker 1: keep playing with video game because you're still not pregnant.
- 10:48Speaker 1: And then I was like, Jared, look at this. Yeah,
- 10:51Speaker 1: So we found out together. How did you How did
- 10:53Speaker 1: you tell Michael?
- 10:54Speaker 2: Well, it's funny because I was gonna say, like I
- 10:56Speaker 2: feel like now with like every single step, like we'll
- 11:00Speaker 2: just go all out. And it's so funny because I
- 11:02Speaker 2: just I guess I don't have the energy. But like
- 11:05Speaker 2: when I found out, people always ask me like, how
- 11:07Speaker 2: did you tell Michael, And I'm like, well, he was
- 11:10Speaker 2: at work and my friend actually it was like six
- 11:13Speaker 2: o'clock in the morning, she was like, I had a
- 11:15Speaker 2: dream you were pregnant. Yeah, and I was like kind
- 11:17Speaker 2: of the same as you. It was like, that's so funny,
- 11:19Speaker 2: like you know.
- 11:19Speaker 1: It's weird, but it's weird and dark because you know,
- 11:23Speaker 1: Jade lost the baby. But I texted Jade about like
- 11:28Speaker 1: two and a half months ago and I said, I
- 11:31Speaker 1: had a dream you're pregnant. You're pregnant, aren't you? And
- 11:33Speaker 1: she didn't respond to that, so I like kind of
- 11:37Speaker 1: thin now she told.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Me, yeah, yeah, it's so crazy though, like how I
- 11:42Speaker 2: think some some women just like no. But my friend
- 11:46Speaker 2: was like, oh, I had a dream and I was
- 11:48Speaker 2: like no, like I'm not, and she was like are
- 11:52Speaker 2: you sure. I was like yeah, like almost, like you know,
- 11:54Speaker 2: it was like early in the morning. I was probably
- 11:56Speaker 2: a little grumpy and I was just like, no, I'm
- 11:58Speaker 2: not pregnant. Stop anyways, But.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Why would you be so sure, Amanda, you were like
- 12:04Speaker 1: being not careful.
- 12:05Speaker 2: I had taken a test before that, Like I was
- 12:08Speaker 2: kind of off too, where like I took a test
- 12:11Speaker 2: a few days before, yeah, and it was negative. So
- 12:15Speaker 2: I and I okay, yeah, and she's like, she's like,
- 12:18Speaker 2: just take a test and be sure, because like I
- 12:20Speaker 2: have this really weird feeling and like I've been right
- 12:22Speaker 2: about these things before, just like take a test. So
- 12:25Speaker 2: I went and I took a test. It was like
- 12:27Speaker 2: probably eight o'clock in the morning at this point, and
- 12:30Speaker 2: like you, I saw like the tiniest faint line, and
- 12:33Speaker 2: so I just took a picture of it and I
- 12:34Speaker 2: sent it to Michael at work and I was like,
- 12:36Speaker 2: is that a line that looks like a line? And
- 12:40Speaker 2: he's like, I think so. So then I ended up
- 12:41Speaker 2: like taking three more tests and it was so weird.
- 12:44Speaker 2: I found out so early. So some of them did
- 12:46Speaker 2: not have a line, and some of them did. But
- 12:49Speaker 2: that's like, I mean how I told him, Like there
- 12:51Speaker 2: wasn't any like cute way or anything special. I just
- 12:54Speaker 2: sent him a picture of the test at work.
- 12:57Speaker 3: I don't know how people could keep this secret, maybe
- 13:00Speaker 3: especially because it was his first child, Like maybe if
- 13:03Speaker 3: you've had like three kids, like say the third, okay,
- 13:06Speaker 3: maybe you can surprise on the third.
- 13:08Speaker 1: But I don't know. I had to have him in
- 13:10Speaker 1: on like the curiosity.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Same and like ever since then too. It's like I
- 13:14Speaker 2: tell him everything that's going on, like every little detail.
- 13:17Speaker 2: I'm like always texting him and he's at work, I'm like,
- 13:19Speaker 2: this is what's happening today. So yeah, there's really no
- 13:22Speaker 2: surprises with us.
- 13:34Speaker 1: So let's talk about like your your nausea and like
- 13:36Speaker 1: your aversions because everybody loved This is what people asked
- 13:39Speaker 1: me when I was pregnant. They're like, what are you craving?
- 13:42Speaker 1: And I'm like, listen to me. I don't have cravings, guys.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I have things that I can eat, things that I
- 13:47Speaker 1: feel like I'm okay eating. So do you have cravings?
- 13:52Speaker 2: No, I don't have any cravings. It was I mean
- 13:55Speaker 2: same with the girls. The first trimester. I wanted like
- 13:57Speaker 2: so much fruit. I threw all the time.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Good for you because all I could have was cheese
- 14:02Speaker 1: and plain prota Like it was just all the plain
- 14:05Speaker 1: carbs and cheese.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Well fruit and plane carbs for me because I would
- 14:09Speaker 2: make like sour doaugh toast with butter and jam every day. Okay,
- 14:13Speaker 2: it's like my favorite. Like I would literally eat that
- 14:15Speaker 2: for dinner because that's all I could eat. I couldn't
- 14:17Speaker 2: do anything with me and honestly, I couldn't eat any vegetables.
- 14:20Speaker 2: I don't think I ate a single vegetable for like
- 14:22Speaker 2: the first three months, but a lot of fruit, and
- 14:25Speaker 2: then now I'm finally it's like the opposite. Now I
- 14:28Speaker 2: just want like all the vegetables and like salads. I'm
- 14:31Speaker 2: thankful that that's what I want.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Good for you, that's amazing.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I no weird cravings yet though.
- 14:38Speaker 1: So nice. Oh, how did you tell the girls?
- 14:42Speaker 2: So for the girls, we made them like a little
- 14:45Speaker 2: cake that said big Sisters. I posted a little video
- 14:48Speaker 2: on my stories I haven't posted on my actual page,
- 14:50Speaker 2: which I probably should have because it was so cute.
- 14:52Speaker 2: But we made them a cake that said big sisters,
- 14:54Speaker 2: and we gave it to them and they had no idea.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I mean, they knew we had talked about trying, and
- 15:01Speaker 2: they knew they were going to get a baby brother
- 15:03Speaker 2: sister soon, but they didn't obviously know when we started
- 15:06Speaker 2: trying and all that, so they were super surprised and honestly,
- 15:09Speaker 2: like so confused. At first, they're like big sisters, what
- 15:12Speaker 2: does that mean? And then obviously they figured it out
- 15:14Speaker 2: and they're so excited.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Oh so adorable. Do you have like a birth plan
- 15:21Speaker 1: right now? Because I like, how was the delivery? Like
- 15:25Speaker 1: what was your plan? Like how did it go with
- 15:27Speaker 1: kinson Jar? And do you hope it goes the same or.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Yeah? I mean I was very lucky with them. I
- 15:35Speaker 2: feel like it went it was easy. I mean I
- 15:37Speaker 2: got the epidural. I was in labor for a really
- 15:40Speaker 2: long time with both of them, but I had like
- 15:43Speaker 2: fairly easy berths with both of them. So I'm kind
- 15:46Speaker 2: of just hoping for the same same thing again.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah I did. I did a whole I Don't
- 15:53Speaker 1: Get It podcast episode last night with my dad about
- 15:56Speaker 1: epidurals because I had just heard so many women just
- 16:01Speaker 1: did not wanting them, and I was I was like,
- 16:04Speaker 1: why is this like a thing? Not that like I'm
- 16:07Speaker 1: not I'm supportive if either way you want it just
- 16:10Speaker 1: is a little it's so not me that like it
- 16:14Speaker 1: makes me curious as to other people's mindsets and all.
- 16:17Speaker 1: And when I asked my Instagram audience, I was like,
- 16:20Speaker 1: do you have epidural questions, like I can ask my
- 16:22Speaker 1: dad because he's an antasyciologist, and like I had people
- 16:26Speaker 1: like asking a lot of the same stuff, but like
- 16:29Speaker 1: so many people are worried about them, and it's just
- 16:34Speaker 1: like the complications of them are so so infrequent. Yea,
- 16:38Speaker 1: And yeah, I had a great pregnancy. I had a
- 16:40Speaker 1: great birth experience after an awful pregnancy. I was like,
- 16:44Speaker 1: the delivery was a nice relief to just barely you know,
- 16:49Speaker 1: just feel just a little bit of pressure.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Right. Well, I mean I'm still in the easy part
- 16:55Speaker 2: of pregnancy, but I always say, like towards the end,
- 16:57Speaker 2: like it gets kind of brutal, like you're ready, And
- 17:01Speaker 2: I always say, I'm like the birth, I mean for
- 17:03Speaker 2: me and I've been very lucky, but I'm like, i
- 17:05Speaker 2: think birth is like the easy, the fun part. I
- 17:07Speaker 2: feel like being pregnant, especially like the last couple of
- 17:09Speaker 2: months that is much harder, was harder for me than
- 17:13Speaker 2: like the actual labor experience. So yeah, I'm hoping for
- 17:17Speaker 2: that again.
- 17:18Speaker 1: But we were definitely both lucky that everything went stunningly.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Yeah, but with the epidural yeah, I mean, I also
- 17:24Speaker 2: think there's like, and this is just from people that
- 17:28Speaker 2: I know who don't want it. There's like a level
- 17:30Speaker 2: of like curiosity from like a mom being like I
- 17:33Speaker 2: want to actually like experience what it feels like to
- 17:36Speaker 2: give birth. I don't have that curiosity, and like I
- 17:39Speaker 2: don't want to.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Do I've had enough, like the hour and a half
- 17:43Speaker 1: that I could feel the contractions. I was like, that
- 17:45Speaker 1: was plenty, and if it was supposed to get worse
- 17:47Speaker 1: than that, like apps of freaking lutely not and then
- 17:51Speaker 1: another thing that I am just mind boggled by, but
- 17:56Speaker 1: like I don't. I try not to. I don't mean
- 17:57Speaker 1: it in like a negative way, but like once you've
- 18:00Speaker 1: had one birth that's unmedicated, I'm like, okay, well you
- 18:04Speaker 1: experienced it, and then the second one, don't you just
- 18:06Speaker 1: not want to feel it?
- 18:08Speaker 2: That's actually like a good question though that I would
- 18:10Speaker 2: want to ask people, Like for people who had a
- 18:12Speaker 2: natural birth the first time, did you end up getting
- 18:14Speaker 2: an epideral the second time? Or did you, like, did
- 18:16Speaker 2: you do it again?
- 18:17Speaker 1: I think a lot do it again. I think maybe
- 18:20Speaker 1: there's just some high they get and like a power,
- 18:23Speaker 1: you know that they feel they can conquer anything, and
- 18:26Speaker 1: they're going to do it all over again.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Right, yeah, I mean probably.
- 18:32Speaker 1: To them, right, they are stronger living than I was
- 18:37Speaker 1: like pushing the button the whole time.
- 18:39Speaker 2: I was like, give me more.
- 18:40Speaker 1: They didn't give me the button. I was talking this
- 18:42Speaker 1: about Dad other day. I was like, Dad, why don't
- 18:43Speaker 1: you guys have the button at Firefax And He's like,
- 18:46Speaker 1: it's just not in our practice. But like whatever you'd
- 18:48Speaker 1: ask for more, they give you more.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Right. Oh so funny?
- 18:52Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, So let's move on a little bit
- 18:54Speaker 1: from the pregnancy and talk about your fam you went
- 18:59Speaker 1: to with Taylor Swift. You went to like so many
- 19:01Speaker 1: Taylor Swift concerts. I'm you know, Gray, that's also good
- 19:06Speaker 1: for you, Like which one did you do? Is there
- 19:08Speaker 1: a certain night that was the best for me? Watching
- 19:11Speaker 1: you take the girls to the one in Tampa was
- 19:13Speaker 1: really fun to watch on Instagram?
- 19:16Speaker 2: That was that was my favorite one. That was my
- 19:18Speaker 2: favorite night. And it's so funny. I was lucky I
- 19:21Speaker 2: got to go with a couple of brands when I
- 19:22Speaker 2: was in LA but I had Charlie is like the
- 19:24Speaker 2: biggest Taylor Swift fan in the entire world, like obsessed,
- 19:28Speaker 2: Like her and her friends at school like they just
- 19:31Speaker 2: are obsessed with Taylor, so I had to take her
- 19:33Speaker 2: in LA, but then I ended up going with a
- 19:35Speaker 2: couple of brands, so I ended up going three times
- 19:37Speaker 2: in La.
- 19:38Speaker 1: No way.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, I think Tampa was probably my favorite
- 19:42Speaker 2: night because they had both the girls and we just
- 19:44Speaker 2: had so much fun. And then I went, yeah three
- 19:47Speaker 2: times in La, which was fun, but it like was
- 19:49Speaker 2: kind of a lot.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Yeah, that was Did it feel like any different every night?
- 19:54Speaker 2: I mean yes and no, because I was with different people.
- 19:57Speaker 2: I went with like friends, one night, I went with
- 19:59Speaker 2: my sister one, which was like so fun because me
- 20:01Speaker 2: and my sister are like have loved Taylor forever. And
- 20:04Speaker 2: then I went with Charlie the third time, so it's
- 20:06Speaker 2: it's different every time.
- 20:08Speaker 1: So cute. And you you let her say at the Patriarchy,
- 20:12Speaker 1: which you document on Instagram, but you say that like
- 20:15Speaker 1: you allow her to kind of quote it in the song,
- 20:19Speaker 1: but like you would never let her say it in conversation, right, Yeah.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Like I also let her say like one, two, three,
- 20:24Speaker 2: let's go bitch, which everyone says with the Taylor concerts,
- 20:27Speaker 2: but you like, and I've said this before in like
- 20:30Speaker 2: A Q and A, and I'm like, if my kids
- 20:33Speaker 2: like grow up and they curse. They don't really care
- 20:35Speaker 2: that much, like I curse, Like I know, it's fine, right,
- 20:39Speaker 2: I mean, as long as they like aren't cursing at people,
- 20:42Speaker 2: and obviously now like they're so young, like there's no
- 20:45Speaker 2: reason for them they don't, they don't curse. But it's
- 20:47Speaker 2: not the worst thing in the world to Honestly.
- 20:50Speaker 1: I think that you said something on your Instagram story
- 20:52Speaker 1: that I've always felt, Like my sister says it all
- 20:54Speaker 1: the time. She's like, like, it's just a word. It's
- 20:57Speaker 1: just a word, and as long as it's not like
- 20:59Speaker 1: directed at somebody in a really negative, awful, yacky connotation,
- 21:03Speaker 1: like if you stub your toe and say shit, it's
- 21:05Speaker 1: not Yeah, it's not a big deal in my house
- 21:07Speaker 1: and in my personal opinion, but like I also totally
- 21:11Speaker 1: respect other families that don't want it set at.
- 21:13Speaker 2: All totally, and that's just like how I am with it.
- 21:16Speaker 2: And like if I teach them that like cursing so
- 21:18Speaker 2: bad and they get older and see that like everyone
- 21:21Speaker 2: does it, like I'd rather teach them like the things
- 21:24Speaker 2: that I believe are bad or bad, and cursing's not
- 21:27Speaker 2: that bad.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Okay, So what are you and Michael doing
- 21:32Speaker 1: like how do you show us about your life? You know,
- 21:35Speaker 1: like the girls are with you? Is it fifty percent
- 21:38Speaker 1: of the time or is it on weekends they go
- 21:39Speaker 1: to their dad's Like just like paint a week in
- 21:42Speaker 1: Amanda Stan's life for us.
- 21:45Speaker 2: So, uh, we have the kids like pretty much all
- 21:48Speaker 2: the time these days, which is great. But yeah, I
- 21:52Speaker 2: mean it's now that the girls are back in school.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Michael goes to work. It's crazy because he moved down
- 21:58Speaker 2: to Orange County a little before we get married, and
- 22:01Speaker 2: he still works in La so he commutes like a week,
- 22:06Speaker 2: yeah far, and he travels a lot. But yeah, I
- 22:11Speaker 2: mean we have the kids and majority of the time
- 22:13Speaker 2: they are in so many like activities and stuff. Now
- 22:16Speaker 2: it's so different because I feel like the newborn phase
- 22:18Speaker 2: is so hard and it gets easier in certain ways.
- 22:21Speaker 2: But when they get older, just be prepared to be
- 22:24Speaker 2: like a human taxiicab because that's how I spend a
- 22:28Speaker 2: majority of my days, driving them to tennis and golf
- 22:30Speaker 2: and dance and all these different things. So that's pretty
- 22:34Speaker 2: much my life these days, honestly, just driving the kids around,
- 22:38Speaker 2: which I don't mind. I love it.
- 22:40Speaker 1: No, that's that sounds pretty good to me. Well kind
- 22:43Speaker 1: of music do they like? Like, what do you listen
- 22:44Speaker 1: to in the car with them?
- 22:45Speaker 2: Besides Taylor, Charlie is like strictly Taylor Swift. Ken's Ken's likes.
- 22:51Speaker 2: She likes everything. She likes country, she likes. Who is
- 22:55Speaker 2: the guy that she likes? It's like so funny to me,
- 22:57Speaker 2: machine Gun Kelly. Yeah, she likes loves him. We listen
- 23:04Speaker 2: to a little bit of everything, all the popular TikTok
- 23:07Speaker 2: songs they're in too.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Also, yeah, yeah, how's the new Bernese Mountain dog.
- 23:22Speaker 2: He's good. He's so sweet. He's going through like his
- 23:24Speaker 2: little teenager phase right now. He just turned one. But
- 23:28Speaker 2: he's like the sweetest cuddliest thing ever. He like his
- 23:31Speaker 2: thing is like he always leans on us. So like
- 23:34Speaker 2: if we're standing around in the kitchen or something, he
- 23:36Speaker 2: comes up and he just leans on us. That's the
- 23:39Speaker 2: sweetest thing ever. But we love him. He's good.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Name Moose Moose. Yeah, those those dogs are just like
- 23:48Speaker 1: so amazing. Why is their lifespan so short?
- 23:51Speaker 2: It's so sad, I mean, and that's something I think,
- 23:53Speaker 2: like everyone knows before you get them. But there, I mean,
- 23:57Speaker 2: they have to have one of the shortest lives of
- 24:00Speaker 2: like any dog breed, but they're so cute, like they're.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Eight years and there, you wouldn't think so, you know,
- 24:06Speaker 1: they have like the body of a Golden Retriever, maybe
- 24:09Speaker 1: a little bit bigger than that.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Usually a little bigger. Most is like on the smaller side.
- 24:13Speaker 2: I want to say, he's like, he's kind of built
- 24:16Speaker 2: like a Golden Retriever. So I'm hoping a lot of
- 24:18Speaker 2: the health problems that a lot of them have are
- 24:20Speaker 2: because they're so big. I think, like their hearts are
- 24:21Speaker 2: too small for their bodies. So hoping that like, because
- 24:24Speaker 2: he's smaller, maybe I'll live longer. I don't know. It
- 24:27Speaker 2: makes me so sad to think about.
- 24:30Speaker 1: I don't want to, Like, I know it's not it's
- 24:31Speaker 1: a source subject because you just talked about on Instagram
- 24:34Speaker 1: the other day, because people are asking you about George
- 24:36Speaker 1: the Golden Retriever all the time, saying that he lives
- 24:39Speaker 1: with with Michael's family.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Yes, so George was actually I'll talk about it again,
- 24:46Speaker 2: but George was actually Michael's mom's dog. His his aunt
- 24:53Speaker 2: got his mom George is a birthday gift, and they
- 24:58Speaker 2: used to live in New York and they moved to California.
- 25:01Speaker 2: So anyways, somewhere along in that time, Michael took George
- 25:05Speaker 2: while they were moving and all that, and just like
- 25:07Speaker 2: kind of never gave him back and kind of just
- 25:09Speaker 2: kept him long story short, and I I'll explain too
- 25:13Speaker 2: after this, but they another one of their dogs passed
- 25:17Speaker 2: and Marie wanted Michael's mom wanted George back, so we
- 25:20Speaker 2: gave George back, and people just like looked out over it.
- 25:26Speaker 2: And for a while, I didn't feel comfortable because you
- 25:29Speaker 2: know how it is, like it's fine if I want
- 25:31Speaker 2: to tell people what's going on with me, but when
- 25:32Speaker 2: it involves like Michael and his mom, I just didn't
- 25:35Speaker 2: want to have one Instagram for all my followers and
- 25:37Speaker 2: be like, this is what's going on. And it was
- 25:40Speaker 2: really tough. We were like, we still are very sad
- 25:42Speaker 2: and miss having George here, but we still get to
- 25:43Speaker 2: see him. But it took me a while to kind
- 25:46Speaker 2: of address it on social media, and I feel like
- 25:48Speaker 2: just no one believed me. I don't know why, Like
- 25:53Speaker 2: people keep saying it's not true, and I'm like, it
- 25:55Speaker 2: is true, Like.
- 25:56Speaker 1: It's probably because you didn't say it earlier, do you
- 26:00Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like, I think if you were
- 26:01Speaker 1: to warm people, then people wouldn't come and be like
- 26:04Speaker 1: so nosy about it. If you're just like, oh, by
- 26:06Speaker 1: the way, I don't know.
- 26:08Speaker 2: It's so strange though, but like there's been a good
- 26:10Speaker 2: amount of people that are like always scrolled back on
- 26:13Speaker 2: Michael's Instagram and we saw that, like you're telling the
- 26:16Speaker 2: truth and like it was Michael's mom's dog, because I
- 26:19Speaker 2: think if you scroll back on my business room you
- 26:21Speaker 2: can see when his mom got George. Oh and anyways,
- 26:26Speaker 2: obviously it's the truth and that's what happened. But yeah,
- 26:31Speaker 2: it probably have to like this whole thing.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Probably it's timing too, because like George was always around
- 26:36Speaker 1: when you guys were dating, and he probably had him,
- 26:39Speaker 1: you know, you'd just gotten him probably when you guys
- 26:42Speaker 1: first started dating and then you get married and then
- 26:45Speaker 1: there's a new dog and all that.
- 26:47Speaker 2: So totally yeah, but yeah, that's what happened. And yeah,
- 26:53Speaker 2: I mean I told this story I think, I want
- 26:56Speaker 2: to say, like six months ago. But it's just like
- 26:59Speaker 2: co need to be a thing and I get so
- 27:02Speaker 2: annoyed sometimes, but it's okay, I understand. Like most people,
- 27:06Speaker 2: I think are just curious.
- 27:07Speaker 1: So I know they're both such cuties. Do they get along?
- 27:11Speaker 2: I'm so cute? Yeah, they do. And his parents live
- 27:14Speaker 2: in La so we still get to see George all
- 27:16Speaker 2: the time, which is nice.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Well that's good. And if you know the other dog died,
- 27:20Speaker 1: then that's sad that she needed another dog.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Back, you know. Yeah, and George is like her favorite.
- 27:25Speaker 2: She's obsessed with him, So it all worked out. George
- 27:28Speaker 2: is really happy.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Oh good. Yeah, what is your favorite thing to watch
- 27:36Speaker 1: Michael do with the girls, and like what do you
- 27:39Speaker 1: look forward to seeing him do with your future child?
- 27:42Speaker 2: It's really cute because and I think this is like
- 27:45Speaker 2: one of my favorite parts of being a mom is
- 27:47Speaker 2: like showing your kids like all the stuff that you
- 27:50Speaker 2: like to do when you were a kid.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Yes, I've been doing that lately. It's awesome.
- 27:55Speaker 2: It's so fun. So he like grew up skiing and
- 27:58Speaker 2: loves to ski and he loves to golf, and so
- 28:01Speaker 2: he's like gotten the kids in on like his hobbies.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Like we went to ask them last winter and he
- 28:05Speaker 2: taught them how to ski. And he's just like so cute.
- 28:08Speaker 2: You could just tell it like makes him so happy
- 28:10Speaker 2: to like teach the kids how to ski. So I'm excited,
- 28:13Speaker 2: Like the new baby, I'm sure it's going to be
- 28:15Speaker 2: on skis when it's like one, but skiing and golfing
- 28:19Speaker 2: and just like all that kind of stuff. He's like
- 28:22Speaker 2: so good with the girls. I'm excited.
- 28:24Speaker 1: So cute. Now I think I know the answer to
- 28:26Speaker 1: this question. Your favorite thing to do with Michael is
- 28:28Speaker 1: stay home and snuggle and watch TV.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Yes, we're the biggest home bodies ever. We don't leave
- 28:34Speaker 2: the house unless we have to. We like stay home,
- 28:37Speaker 2: We cook, we watch TV, we like play Mario Kart.
- 28:40Speaker 2: We're the biggest nerds ever.
- 28:41Speaker 1: So and when you do go out, what do you do?
- 28:44Speaker 1: What's your favorite thing to do with them?
- 28:46Speaker 2: We usually just we're so boring. Oh my god, it's
- 28:50Speaker 2: so sad. Yeah, we just like go to dinner.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Yeah too, same.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:56Speaker 1: The girls, like, how do you see them taking care
- 28:58Speaker 1: of the new baby? You're gonna allow them to babysit
- 29:02Speaker 1: like with you out of the house.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Not yet. I am like, I'm like, I'm so crazy.
- 29:08Speaker 2: I don't even let the girls like kids is eleven
- 29:10Speaker 2: almost twelve?
- 29:11Speaker 1: Yeah, so maybe thirteen, maybe.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Like thirteen fourteen, Yeah, but I know, like already they're
- 29:18Speaker 2: so excited. Like I went in Kin's room the other
- 29:21Speaker 2: day and like she already has like the baby carrier,
- 29:24Speaker 2: Like she keeps sneaking in your room. I think she's
- 29:26Speaker 2: like trying it on. So I bet you I'm not
- 29:29Speaker 2: even going to be able to hold the baby. They're
- 29:30Speaker 2: gonna want it all the time. But yeah, they're so excited.
- 29:34Speaker 1: You're gonna get a lot of help, which is so
- 29:36Speaker 1: so nice. That's the that's definitely one of the assets
- 29:39Speaker 1: of having that age difference.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Yeah, they've already told me. They're like, we're gonna hold
- 29:43Speaker 2: the baby. We're gonna I keep almost saying like him
- 29:46Speaker 2: or her, So I have to be so careful when.
- 29:48Speaker 1: I say, well, what kind of announcement do you have
- 29:52Speaker 1: next week? Is they're this big Instagram creative No.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Do you want to know? I literally have no idea, OK.
- 29:59Speaker 1: So just fill it here on the as.
- 30:03Speaker 2: I need to come up with something. But they're like, well,
- 30:06Speaker 2: walk the baby, we'll hold it. But like when we're
- 30:08Speaker 2: not changing a diaper, and I'm like, yeah, you are,
- 30:11Speaker 2: We're going to teach you how to change a diaper.
- 30:13Speaker 2: So hopefully I'll have some help with that. Too.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Definitely, you're definitely it's gonna be so nice. Oh yeah,
- 30:19Speaker 1: last question, names, Know that you were going through it
- 30:22Speaker 1: on Instagram the other day. You had a list that
- 30:24Speaker 1: even Michael had kind of come up with throughout the year,
- 30:27Speaker 1: but those that you revealed were all scratched off the list.
- 30:30Speaker 1: They're ones you like, but they're not ones that you're
- 30:33Speaker 1: married to. So yeah, how long is the married to list?
- 30:36Speaker 1: Have we set the name?
- 30:38Speaker 2: We do have a name. Uh, it's a name even
- 30:42Speaker 2: before I was pregnant, we like both really liked this
- 30:45Speaker 2: name and we ended up going with it and it
- 30:49Speaker 2: just kind of stuck. So we do have a name.
- 30:51Speaker 2: And then I feel like it's hard though, like you know,
- 30:54Speaker 2: you pick a name from the beginning and you start
- 30:56Speaker 2: calling the baby by the name, like during your pregnancy.
- 30:59Speaker 2: So even if we like found another name because we
- 31:02Speaker 2: we didn't want to like solidify the decision, but it's
- 31:05Speaker 2: kind of just happened. So, yes, we have a name.
- 31:08Speaker 1: I have to say that while I did refer to
- 31:10Speaker 1: Dawson as Dawson while he was in utero, it's after
- 31:14Speaker 1: that still it wasn't going to but it still like
- 31:17Speaker 1: made me feel weird to refer to something in my
- 31:20Speaker 1: body by name. Is that weird? Like I was like,
- 31:25Speaker 1: I like I said him, you know and all that,
- 31:28Speaker 1: and I would say Dawson sometimes, but it was just
- 31:30Speaker 1: like until you meet them, it's like it is. It
- 31:33Speaker 1: is like, I.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Don't know, it's so weird. Wait, and I have a
- 31:36Speaker 2: question too, when do you like when did it start
- 31:38Speaker 2: feeling like, oh, there's actually a baby in there? Because
- 31:41Speaker 2: I can't really feel the baby like moving yet. Sometimes
- 31:46Speaker 2: I think I feel it, but.
- 31:48Speaker 1: It was twenty weeks. Maybe I felt a flutter. I'm
- 31:53Speaker 1: close to the teen weeks, and I was like, was
- 31:55Speaker 1: that just like my stomach gurgling or was that you know,
- 31:59Speaker 1: like a little bit kick. And I think that really
- 32:02Speaker 1: was a kick, because within that week I started to
- 32:04Speaker 1: feel a little bit more. But yeah, it's they say
- 32:06Speaker 1: between eighteen and twenty weeks. But you know, I knew
- 32:10Speaker 1: there was a baby, and they're torturing me from.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Them right from the beginning.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Six So funny. Now I look at Dawson and I'm
- 32:19Speaker 1: just like, well, your face, like I know why you
- 32:21Speaker 1: made me so sick, just like you just so sucked
- 32:24Speaker 1: everything out of me. And it's okay, Like it's all
- 32:28Speaker 1: worth it. It really is all worth it, even though when
- 32:29Speaker 1: they're telling you that it's all worth it when you're suffering,
- 32:32Speaker 1: it doesn't make you feel better now. And they're going
- 32:36Speaker 1: to say that then to me, I'm sure again at
- 32:37Speaker 1: some point, hopefully soon, and I'll be like, yeah, I know,
- 32:41Speaker 1: but those words still don't comfort me.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Dawson is so cute. You said you're going to start
- 32:47Speaker 2: trying again soon.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Yeah, very soon.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Do you want to a boy? Another boy? Girl?
- 32:53Speaker 1: It's weird? I mean, I was so I had such
- 32:55Speaker 1: gender disappointment with Dawson. I had a feeling it was
- 32:58Speaker 1: going to be a boy. But I think there was
- 33:01Speaker 1: just like that to me that like loss of one.
- 33:05Speaker 1: I don't think that I'd ever really consider three, especially
- 33:07Speaker 1: when I was feeling I was already feeling so sick
- 33:09Speaker 1: when we found out I was a boy, so I
- 33:11Speaker 1: was like, I'm not doing this three times. We're we're
- 33:13Speaker 1: going to do it twice. So I think for me
- 33:14Speaker 1: it was like, oh, I'm not going to have like
- 33:16Speaker 1: the sister sister bond that you have with your sister
- 33:18Speaker 1: and that ken Zin Chara, so like that was really
- 33:20Speaker 1: sad for me. It didn't last very long, and then
- 33:24Speaker 1: I'm just thinking like, oh, like if I don't have
- 33:26Speaker 1: a girl after this, then like who am I going
- 33:28Speaker 1: to go and bring to Taylor Swift concerts and bring
- 33:30Speaker 1: to boy band concerts and like go to the American
- 33:33Speaker 1: girl to ball store with? And now that I have
- 33:36Speaker 1: a boy, I really I know it sounds like, oh,
- 33:39Speaker 1: she's just saying that, Like I really don't care as much.
- 33:41Speaker 1: I'd be happy if we had a boy too, because
- 33:44Speaker 1: then I'd want them to have that hopefully brother bond.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. Having two of like the same sex is
- 33:50Speaker 2: so much fun. Yeah, little besties.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Totally, especially girls. I feel like girls become more besties
- 33:57Speaker 1: than boys become besties. But I don't really know a lot.
- 34:00Speaker 1: So girls fight a lot?
- 34:02Speaker 2: Oh yeah, like every day, close everything, it's constant fighting.
- 34:08Speaker 2: But they love each other all right.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Linda, thanks so much for joining us. The next time
