- 0:00Speaker 1: It just did what I was going to do.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Now together this afternoon, let's welcome together on the way
- 0:07from a Budja, our possle, Josh.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Ourself, Allelujah, praise the name of the Lord. Please allow
- 0:24me stand on the existing protocol. For the sake of time.
- 0:28I honor our father and the Lord Babawai okay and
- 0:31every father here represented. May the Lord bless you in
- 0:35the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you more sincerely for
- 0:40this great privilege that has been given. For these few minutes,
- 0:44I pray that God will help us in the name
- 0:47of Jesus. Can we lift our hands to heaven in
- 0:49one minute and just cry onto the Lord to speak
- 0:53yet again to our hearts. In addition to all that
- 0:57we have heard and learned, let's pray that God will
- 1:00speak to our hearts. You can never get enough of
- 1:08the world. There is always room for more. In Jesus' name,
- 1:15we pray. Please, you may be seated. I'm not really
- 1:20preaching for sake of time. This is not the kind
- 1:23of platform to preach. I just want to make a
- 1:27few submissions within the time that I have as a contribution.
- 1:31By the way, hearty congratulations to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.
- 1:37I think one more time, let's give God a big
- 1:40hand clap for his good hand.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Allelujah a man. So, I sort of just.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Want to state, maybe make a few submissions that I
- 1:53believe would hopefully be a meaningful contribution in our desire
- 1:59to make progress and to advance.
- 2:04Speaker 1: I trust that God will help us in the name
- 2:06of Jesus Christ.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Now, Revelations chapter three and verse twenty two, the Bible
- 2:13says he that hath an ear. It says, let him
- 2:17hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. The Holy
- 2:22Spirit is always speaking, and according to scripture, he speaks expressly.
- 2:28And I believe that at every major prophetic milestone that
- 2:36a man or a ministry, a vision covers, God comes
- 2:39in to bring commendations.
- 2:42Speaker 1: He comes in to bring rebukes.
- 2:44Speaker 3: It comes to bring in a new chapter to that
- 2:48person's life or that organization.
- 2:51Speaker 1: In Revelations chapter.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Two, when you read from verse one to eleven, you
- 2:56find out interestingly that in speaking to the seven churches beginning,
- 3:03you know, with the Church in Ephesos, he commended them
- 3:08on a few things. We don't have the time to
- 3:10do a long read on that or you may want
- 3:12to write for reference Revelations Chapter two, from verse one
- 3:16to eleven. He began by commending them on the great things,
- 3:20the ability their stamina to stand, you know, and resist falsehood,
- 3:25and so on and so forth. But then he lovingly
- 3:28brought a few observations that he suggested that they make
- 3:34amendments over.
- 3:36Speaker 1: And that's the model I want to use very quickly.
- 3:39Speaker 3: So I'm just going to do a long read, just
- 3:42as a letter, if you want to call it. And
- 3:45I titled this to the Church in Nigeria. Now, the
- 3:49truth is that like a father and the Lord, Papoetico said,
- 3:53and then you know, Pete Daniels came and made a
- 3:57very strong prayer point on that we have seen the
- 4:00hand of God over the Nigerian Church. In truth, there
- 4:03is no generation without voices who have been raised by
- 4:07God to speak His purposes. We have spearheaded revivals and
- 4:13campaigns across the globe right from this nation. And to
- 4:17God be the glory for all of this. These things
- 4:20are worthy of commendation. Nigeria has literally exported and is
- 4:24still in the business of exporting the Gospel in its
- 4:28various dimensions, beginning from our domain, all.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Across Africa, spreading across.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Europe, you know, down to the Middle East, and literally
- 4:37across the globe.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Allelujah.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Now, but there are few challenges, and I want to
- 4:42just point out quickly within the time that I have,
- 4:45so that I don't stretch us beyond the time allotted.
- 4:50A few years ago, the Lord led me to preach
- 4:53a message called the Purified Church, and in that message
- 4:57I listed by the Spirit seven what would call seven
- 5:03deadly scenes that the Lord would want to purify from
- 5:06the Church. And as a way of humbly presenting these challenges,
- 5:13I'm hoping that as I run through the list, it
- 5:16would give us a reason to trust God for grace
- 5:19as we forge ahead to look very closely.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I'm going to least them very quickly.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Number one, that the Lord would want the church to
- 5:27access grace and to rise above It is a subject
- 5:31of immorality, and by the word immorality, it is beyond
- 5:36just sexual immorality.
- 5:38Speaker 1: It attempts to.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Capture every kind of moral perversion from sexual immorality, pornography, masturbation,
- 5:47and every kind of Antichrist practices as far as the
- 5:51moral uprightness of believers are concerned, There's no hiding the
- 5:55fact that these are challenges that have plagued the Church globally,
- 6:00and our nation has not been spared of such. And
- 6:02we are praying that this has an observation that God
- 6:06will grant grace so that men and women will rise
- 6:09above the grip of sin. On these wise, you believe
- 6:12that shout Amen. Number two very quickly. The loss for
- 6:16money and material things. Now there is a striking difference
- 6:20between prosperity and materialism.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I will not go into that.
- 6:24Speaker 3: The Church that is victorious and most remain victorious must
- 6:28conquer the lost and on guarded appetite for money and
- 6:34material things, especially using the standard of money and material
- 6:39things as the ultimate standard to portray spirituality. While prosperity
- 6:44and material increase is captured in the Bible as one
- 6:48of the benefits for the believers, we must not make
- 6:52it become the pie vote and the measure of true spirituality.
- 6:56Number three witchcraft and extra biblical practices. It's a sad reality,
- 7:02but there is a growing need to examine our principles
- 7:06and practices, particularly on the pulpit, with reference to the
- 7:10ordinances that were presented to the church from Jesus by Jesus.
- 7:15Speaker 1: And practiced by the early apostles.
- 7:18Speaker 3: The Church has been plagued with all levels and all
- 7:21shades of extra biblical practices and sometimes direct practices that
- 7:27from the lens of scripture qualified to be called witchcraft.
- 7:30Number four Pride, vain, glory, and self centeredness. This is
- 7:37one area that has truly plagued the Church. And unfortunately,
- 7:41I make a very humble submission that this has become
- 7:44a cancer to my generation of preachers, the cancer of
- 7:48pride and vain, glory and self centeredness. Number five the
- 7:54sine of the tongue. I call it everything from lying, gossiping, backbiting,
- 8:00and the sowing of the seeds of discord. As simple
- 8:03as and as harmless as this may look, it has
- 8:07destroyed the body of Christ. It has brought dishonor and
- 8:10reproach to us.
- 8:11Speaker 1: As a people.
- 8:13Speaker 3: And there is need to obtain grace from God, to
- 8:16trust God to rise above these limitations. Number six the
- 8:21scene of competition and on healthy comparison. Competition and on
- 8:27healthy comparison. This has even advanced to creating on healthy
- 8:33cabals and sometimes cult like structures. And I tell you
- 8:37the truth, there is no future for a people. There
- 8:40is no future for any territory that will want to
- 8:44leave practicing not there's a place for loyalty and honor,
- 8:48but the moment it becomes ac cult like, then it
- 8:51is destructive.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Prays the name of the Lord very quickly.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Number seven is the sin of imbalance, exaggeration of truths
- 9:03or communicating truths beyond the boundary of their relevance. The
- 9:07Bible talks about the whole counsel of God. And while
- 9:11we commend the Church for the great strides for this far,
- 9:15we must come to an honest, acknowledgment. Of all these things,
- 9:18I run the least one more time, very quickly. Number
- 9:21one immorality in all of its expressions. Number two, the
- 9:26loss for money and material things. Number three, witchcraft and
- 9:31extra biblical practices on the pulpit and across our assemblage.
- 9:37Number four, pride, vainglory and self centeredness.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Number five, the sine of the tongue.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Number six, competition and unhealthy comparison of men of structures.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Seven the danger of imbalance.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Now, very quickly, let me talk about another major issue
- 9:55that I think is worth considering. I call it doctrinal issues.
- 10:00There is no greater time. I think in the church
- 10:03age where we have a widespread confusion as to our
- 10:07doctrinal stands, and I'm hoping and praying with all due
- 10:11respect as a submission, that the Perfen would be able
- 10:15to consider creating a platform that brings stability to the
- 10:21things that the Bible says are most surely believed. Everything
- 10:25we believe as believers has been challenged. Everything literally, the
- 10:30foundational pillars of the Christian faith are being threatened and
- 10:33challenged across the globe doctrinal issues. There is a growing confusion,
- 10:39especially among younger believers, as to what is really to
- 10:43be believed.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Everything has been challenged.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Another issue that we need to look at that is
- 10:48worth considering is the issue of division and disunity.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I mentioned that early on, but let me just truce
- 10:55it a bit.
- 10:57Speaker 3: We need to manage our appetite for you know, headship
- 11:03and fraternities so that we don't begin to behave like a.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Lot of occultic societies.
- 11:09Speaker 3: It matters that people are given the liberty to serve God,
- 11:13but then we must be very careful with the subject
- 11:16of cabals and cams, disunity and divisions. This is by
- 11:22no means downplaying the achievement of the church. These are
- 11:25humble submissions using this platform in a bid to improve
- 11:30ourselves and firge further onto perfection. One other area very
- 11:35quickly that I'll talk about within the time that I
- 11:37have is what I call the inefficient management of zeal
- 11:42and may I request our attention for one moment. This
- 11:45is particularly to my generation of ministers. There is what
- 11:49we call the inefficient management of zeal. This has led
- 11:54to widespread communication of dishonor, this honor to fathers, dishonor
- 11:59to conc temporaries. Right now, there is a growing trend
- 12:03within the Body of Christ where this honor looks fashionable.
- 12:07People have spiritualized lack of manners, and just because we
- 12:11quote scriptures around it does not make it right. There
- 12:15is a lot of mismanagement of zeal allelujah, and I'm
- 12:21hoping and praying that God is going to grant grace
- 12:25all over social media. You find, in fact, quite honestly,
- 12:31it has even become a human right violation issue now
- 12:36and as simple as it sounds, if this is not addressed,
- 12:39past us will start killing themselves.
- 12:42Speaker 1: The level of growing hatred in the Body.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Of Christ and everything is credited to our love for Jesus.
- 12:49Speaker 1: That's not a model we find in Scripture. Allelujah.
- 12:52Speaker 3: We cannot love Jesus too much to kill one another
- 12:56has proof that we love him. Something is wrong with
- 12:58our understanding, something is wrong with our zeal. I make
- 13:02a humble submission, and this may sound funny, but among
- 13:06many recommendations that I wrote here, I am not sure
- 13:09that I will have the time to present them.
- 13:11Speaker 1: One of it is to truly examine the mental state
- 13:16of ministers.
- 13:18Speaker 3: It looks like a very subtle issue, but there is
- 13:21a need to examine the mental state of pastors. Many
- 13:27pastors have spiritualized trauma, trauma from childhood, and we come
- 13:33on the pulpit and turn it into salmons. These things
- 13:36is not just an issue of pray and fascin. There
- 13:39might be need to bring in professionals and look carefully
- 13:43as to whether or not preachers are fit to serve
- 13:47upon the pulpit. I have one minute my apologies that
- 13:53I do not do justice to the.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Things that I want to say, but there.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Needs to be I'm still speaking about the inefficient management
- 14:00of zeal. One of the things we learn from Scripture
- 14:03about authority is that authority must also have jurisdiction. You
- 14:09do not have the right to speak about everything everywhere
- 14:12anyhow because of zeal. Again, it's an appeal, particularly to
- 14:17my generation of ministers. There is this unguarded passion where
- 14:22we sustain credence from wherever.
- 14:25Speaker 1: We talk about all kinds of things.
- 14:27Speaker 3: When you read the Epistle of John, John said, I
- 14:30write to you fathers, I write to you young men.
- 14:35I write to you children. There are letters that are
- 14:38for fathers. Children should not read that letter. There are
- 14:42letters for young men, and there are letters for children.
- 14:46Speaker 1: By the time children.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Begin to read the letters for fathers, they become arrogant
- 14:51and they become discouraged. There are letters for fathers, there
- 14:56are letters for young men.
- 14:58Speaker 1: There are matters.
- 14:59Speaker 3: Within the body of Christ that children are too small
- 15:03to address. No matter the level of spirituality, it is arrogance.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I write to you fathers.
- 15:11Speaker 3: There are issues that only fathers can speak about.
- 15:15Speaker 1: There are issues for young men. There are issues for children.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Now, because we do not understand the jurisdictional component of authority,
- 15:23everybody is doing everything and we credit it to the
- 15:27Holy Spirit.
- 15:28Speaker 1: There is a way the Holy Spirit leads.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Let us not make a mockery of his wisdom and
- 15:33his leadership.
- 15:40Speaker 1: My time is up.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Please allow me just for two minutes if I make
- 15:46a quick request. I have tabled a few recommendations, and
- 15:50please let me just run it in two minutes and
- 15:54then I'm out of your face.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Number one.
- 15:56Speaker 3: My first recommendation and a humble submission to the Pentecostal
- 16:00Fellowship of Nigeria, is that a structure be created and
- 16:06made available were preachers with all kinds of moral feelings
- 16:12can have a safe heaven to open up and have
- 16:15an opportunity to be healed without being destroyed, without being demoralized.
- 16:20Provided the church is in place, there are people who
- 16:24will fall, there are people who will rise. The campaign
- 16:27of celebrating the falling of our soldiers will ultimately destroy everybody.
- 16:32Speaker 1: There must be.
- 16:32Speaker 3: A structure where wounded soldiers can find it safe heaven.
- 16:37They can be spiritually rehabilitated and brought back into the system.
- 16:43Recommendation number two that is, structure be created so that
- 16:55all those who are indirect antagonism to the principles of
- 16:59the Scripture. There is no point watching people betray the
- 17:03name of Christ indefinitely. We must have the courage to
- 17:07with maturity call those people and if need be, engage
- 17:11in a meaningful scriptural discussion. Because for as long as
- 17:16we allow evil to thrive because we are looking for peace,
- 17:19it will eventually destroy the body.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Somebody must have the courage.
- 17:23Speaker 3: There are people in wide spread practice of sale, with
- 17:28due respect witch craft another extra biblical practices. The fathers
- 17:33and those who are instituted by the authority, they have
- 17:36the credence to lovingly call such people and say, would
- 17:40you want to re examine this practice from the lens
- 17:43of scripture. We will be surprised how many people got
- 17:47into their confusion, not because they were evil. They were
- 17:50like the lady with the spirit of divination. And if
- 17:53they have a better chance, they can come out of
- 17:56some of those practices. Recommendation number two number three quickly,
- 18:01I wrote here that the PFM, in conjunction we say
- 18:04can and every other major Christian body should create a
- 18:09recommended material documenting the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith.
- 18:15What does the Nigerian Christian believe. It's important that this
- 18:20is spelled out because the generation that is coming is
- 18:24in clear confusion right now. Everything you bring as a
- 18:28doctrine is a subject of debate.
- 18:30Speaker 1: The fathers are transitting gradually.
- 18:32Speaker 3: It's important that a spiritual council come together and define
- 18:37for Nigeria as a spiritual recommendation, what.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Do we believe.
- 18:42Speaker 3: The Bible calls them the things that are most surely believed.
- 18:45While we may not agree on everything, it's important to
- 18:49define the things that define a Christian. Finally, I want
- 18:59to re commend that, hopefully, in conjunction with all other institutions,
- 19:06a dedicated institute be raised so that pastors who never
- 19:11had an opportunity to be trained but are currently in ministry,
- 19:15they don't have to give up ministry, but a system
- 19:18be created to train them. The more people are trained,
- 19:22the more they reflect Christ. Most of the you know,
- 19:26the madness and childishness on the altar, sometimes it's not
- 19:30a demonic attack, is a reflection of the lack of training,
- 19:34and these things can be corrected. I'm training the name
- 19:36of Jesus that, in addition to all that the Lord
- 19:39has done this forty years, that these humble submissions will
- 19:43help to improve the pfin and the body of Christ.
- 19:46Speaker 1: The Lord bless you in Jesus' name. Let's appreciate a
- 20:00Processame man. Can we rise? We can do better. It's
- 20:05such a powerful world. From the Toronto Greace. God bless you, sir,
