- 0:00Speaker 1: Elections have consequences, That's what we're always told, and absent
- 0:03Speaker 1: something disqualifying, a president has probably earned the cabinet of
- 0:08Speaker 1: his or her choosing with any reason. But times they
- 0:12Speaker 1: are a change.
- 0:13Speaker 2: In Do you think that's a fair characterization?
- 0:15Speaker 3: That is a reckon ball in the Justice Department and
- 0:18Speaker 3: is called Todd Blanche the Senator.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I absolutely agree with that statement, and I would say
- 0:22Speaker 1: that Todd Blanch was nominated not in spite of his
- 0:27Speaker 1: conflicts of interest, but because of them.
- 0:30Speaker 3: He has turned the Justice Department on equivocally into a
- 0:33Speaker 3: shield for the president and a sword against his enemies.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Really, he deserves to be fired.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Todd Blanche is a real lawyer. He worked as a
- 0:42Speaker 1: paralegal and went to law school at night. From those
- 0:45Speaker 1: humble beginnings, he rose to the Southern District of New
- 0:49Speaker 1: York and to prominent law firms, and then he took
- 0:52Speaker 1: on a famous client named Donald Trump. You know, the
- 0:55Speaker 1: left celebrates the lawyers who represent killers and all manner
- 0:58Speaker 1: of violent criminals, but heaven forbid, you represent politicians with
- 1:02Speaker 1: whom you disagree. John Adams actually represented British soldiers accused
- 1:09Speaker 1: of killing Americans, but Todd Lanch once a registered Democrat
- 1:13Speaker 1: is paying a price for representing Donald Trump. I watched
- 1:18Speaker 1: Todd encourt and I have visited with him out of court.
- 1:21Speaker 1: He is a real lawyer and being ag is a
- 1:25Speaker 1: challenging job. So if not Todd Lanch, who who exactly
- 1:30Speaker 1: is that you want? If not this man with his
- 1:34Speaker 1: credentials joining us, former federal prosecutor Jim Trusty welcome counselor
- 1:40Speaker 1: Eric Holder said he was Obama's wingman. Loretta Lynch led
- 1:43Speaker 1: Jim Comey run main Justice Merritt Garland's DOJ conspired with
- 1:47Speaker 1: state prosecutors to target Trump. Where is this new found
- 1:51Speaker 1: independence from the left coming from?
- 1:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, well, hypocrisy primarily.
- 1:57Speaker 3: And remember you had a Democratic president pick is to
- 2:00Speaker 3: be attorney general.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Look, if any of these people.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Had shown a whisper of discontent with those previous relationships
- 2:07Speaker 3: he talked about, maybe they'd have some credibility. But this
- 2:09Speaker 3: is typical street theater bashing Todd and you know you're
- 2:12Speaker 3: talking about his resume. One of the things I liked
- 2:14Speaker 3: about him, Trey, When I was kind of hearing about
- 2:17Speaker 3: this guy coming on to represent President Trump, my friend
- 2:21Speaker 3: was saying, you're gonna like him because he's saw of
- 2:23Speaker 3: the earth. He was a guy that was a paralegal
- 2:25Speaker 3: with the Southern District of New York long before he
- 2:27Speaker 3: became an attorney there, going to night school, you know,
- 2:30Speaker 3: doing essentially two jobs.
- 2:32Speaker 2: And I like that.
- 2:33Speaker 3: I like the fact that he's gut kind of a
- 2:34Speaker 3: humble beginning, and frankly by being around the weaponization of
- 2:38Speaker 3: the Biden administration at President Trump's expense, I like that too.
- 2:41Speaker 2: I think we need an attorney general who.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Sees, just sees clearly just how deep a state it
- 2:48Speaker 3: is that's out there in the FBI and the intelligence
- 2:50Speaker 3: community actively thwarting President Trump historically.
- 2:54Speaker 1: You know, Jim, what I would say to our friends
- 2:57Speaker 1: on the eldest shot of the isle is, if not Todd,
- 3:01Speaker 1: who do you want? I mean, who would they vote for?
- 3:04Speaker 1: I mean, they would actually find something wrong with Narrow.
- 3:08Speaker 1: The truth of the matter is they're not voting for
- 3:11Speaker 1: whoever the President puts up for ag no matter what.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I think Atticus Finch would lose on party lines.
- 3:19Speaker 3: You know, just like you said about Clarence Darrow, there's
- 3:21Speaker 3: nobody that's going to pass the litmus test.
- 3:23Speaker 2: But that's how you know it's insincere.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Ultimately, you know, they know that the attorney general is
- 3:27Speaker 3: a political appointed position where he's going to have loyalty
- 3:31Speaker 3: not necessarily just to the President as a person, but
- 3:33Speaker 3: to the president's policies at DJ and we're at a
- 3:36Speaker 3: pivotal time.
- 3:37Speaker 2: You know.
- 3:37Speaker 3: You listen to President Trump the other night, and yeah,
- 3:40Speaker 3: a lot of the speech was about Chinese interference, but
- 3:42Speaker 3: a lot of the speech was about just seditious behavior
- 3:46Speaker 3: by people that are in American institutions like the FBI
- 3:49Speaker 3: and the intelligence community.
- 3:51Speaker 2: I mean, to me, that is such a wake.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Up call that's so overdue for people to realize there's
- 3:55Speaker 3: an arrogance, there's a cultural rot that is involved in
- 3:59Speaker 3: some of these institutions. And so far what I've seen
- 4:02Speaker 3: is Todd and Cash Fortteler with the FBI and been
- 4:04Speaker 3: willing to take that on and expose it and find
- 4:08Speaker 3: the burn bags full of documents that show an FBI
- 4:10Speaker 3: that was geared up against their own president.
- 4:14Speaker 1: All right, Jim, you and I I can't speak for you.
- 4:17Speaker 1: It was the best job that I ever had. I
- 4:20Speaker 1: loved being a prosecutor. How do we get back to
- 4:23Speaker 1: the old days when politics was never discussed at US
- 4:27Speaker 1: Attorney's Office or can we And then my follow up
- 4:31Speaker 1: question would be how much of what we're going through
- 4:34Speaker 1: now is policy driven versus personnel, Like, I mean, we've
- 4:39Speaker 1: had bad arrests for ever since we've had arrests, we've
- 4:42Speaker 1: had bad search warrants. We don't change the policy just
- 4:46Speaker 1: because the personnel are abusing what we've given them.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, look, there's nothing to attack in terms
- 4:54Speaker 3: of the president's law enforcement priorities when you talk about
- 4:58Speaker 3: going after gangs, eagle aliens, fentanyl, and there's been great
- 5:02Speaker 3: successes already now of course, standing up an entire division
- 5:06Speaker 3: to go after fraud and finding out the scope of
- 5:08Speaker 3: the frauds crazy, so substantively, there's no reason to think
- 5:11Speaker 3: there's anything wrong with the policies they're at the Department
- 5:14Speaker 3: of Justice. But there is just this this institutional kind
- 5:19Speaker 3: of arrogance or rot that we're seeing more and more
- 5:22Speaker 3: exposed from law enforcement at the FBI, from DJ And
- 5:26Speaker 3: that's a character issue. That's people, that's people that have
- 5:28Speaker 3: the arrogance to think they know better than President Trump.
- 5:31Speaker 3: And I don't know that many or all of them
- 5:33Speaker 3: could ever get prosecuted. A lot of this stuff is
- 5:35Speaker 3: going back ten years, and you know how the statute
- 5:37Speaker 3: of limitations works, and even with an aggressive prosecutor, you know,
- 5:40Speaker 3: you've got to find things within the law rather than
- 5:43Speaker 3: being creative like a Jack Smith. But I think at
- 5:46Speaker 3: the end of the day, you know, there's room for
- 5:48Speaker 3: history to judge people harshly on moral grounds, and there's
- 5:51Speaker 3: a lot of people just crying out for that. You know,
- 5:53Speaker 3: we're saying they're running their own undercover government or their
- 5:58Speaker 3: own shadow government.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Outrageous to hear that in law enforcement circles.
- 6:02Speaker 3: So again, you need people that are not going to
- 6:04Speaker 3: be Chris Ray's or Jim Comey's that are there to
- 6:07Speaker 3: kind of cozy up to the New York Times. You're
- 6:10Speaker 3: gonna need people that are willing to make some heads
- 6:12Speaker 3: roll and expose exactly where all the nooks and crannies
- 6:15Speaker 3: of corruption are within that institution.
- 6:18Speaker 1: The power to arrest and indict should make the person
- 6:22Speaker 1: more humble, not more likely to abuse those powers. It
- 6:26Speaker 1: should make you humble to know that you can indict,
- 6:30Speaker 1: arrest your fellow citizens and ruin their reputations. That should
- 6:34Speaker 1: not empower you to go do nefarious things. But you
- 6:37Speaker 1: and I are in agreement all that, Jim Trusty, thank
- 6:40Speaker 1: you for your service to our country and for joining
- 6:42Speaker 1: us on a Sunday night.
