- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:04Speaker 1: six fortyf I.
- 0:15Speaker 2: AM six forty Bill Handle here, Good morning, everybody, on
- 0:19Speaker 2: a Wednesday morning.
- 0:21Speaker 3: March fourth.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Some of the stories we are looking at, well, we're
- 0:24Speaker 2: going to talk about the latest of what's happening in
- 0:26Speaker 2: the Middle East. In just a moment, Governor Gavin Newsom
- 0:29Speaker 2: broadly supports La Mayor Karen Bass's bid for a second term.
- 0:33Speaker 2: I don't even know what that means, as opposed to
- 0:36Speaker 2: just I support her. I broadly support her. Okay, fair enough,
- 0:41Speaker 2: and just a whole bunch more prices Gas prices jumped
- 0:45Speaker 2: eleventh cents yesterday across the country, also very quickly on Friday,
- 0:51Speaker 2: day after tomorrow. It's ask handle anything. Where you ask
- 0:56Speaker 2: handle anything. It's all about embarrassing me. And you go
- 0:59Speaker 2: to the show. You go to the iHeartRadio app and
- 1:03Speaker 2: it's it's, uh, we're broadcasting or we're got the word
- 1:09Speaker 2: again streaming. Thank you very much, Bill mind, we're streaming
- 1:14Speaker 2: the show, and uh, just go ahead and click onto
- 1:17Speaker 2: the microphone in the upper right hand corner, click onto it,
- 1:19Speaker 2: then record a question and then Neil chooses him, and
- 1:23Speaker 2: it's all about embarrassing me. Okay, the latest, and there's
- 1:26Speaker 2: a lot going on the latest in the Mideast.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Okay uh. The Iranians are trying.
- 1:32Speaker 2: To figure out who is going to be the Grand
- 1:34Speaker 2: puba uh and dealing with the attack. So President Trump
- 1:39Speaker 2: yesterday acknowledged the possibility that Iran's next ruler could be
- 1:43Speaker 2: as bad as the Iola Jumeni. And it looks like
- 1:48Speaker 2: he will be because his son Mojtaba Rameni JM and
- 1:54Speaker 2: I Ramene hardliners, probably going to become the next Poohba.
- 1:59Speaker 3: And it's nothing's going to change.
- 2:02Speaker 2: There were some talk there the other two by the way,
- 2:06Speaker 2: on this try triump for it. We're actually fairly moderate
- 2:10Speaker 2: considering it's Iran. But it looks like that the supreme
- 2:15Speaker 2: leader son is going to go ahead and become become
- 2:18Speaker 2: the guy. And the Israeli's defense minister said that if
- 2:24Speaker 2: that is who is going to happen, he is going
- 2:28Speaker 2: to become an unequivocal target for elimination.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Like those words. All right.
- 2:32Speaker 2: So the bombing continues on command centers, police station detention centers,
- 2:37Speaker 2: intelligence offices in Iran.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Are continuing to be bombed.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Stocks in Asia stock the market fell precipitously. The other thing,
- 2:50Speaker 2: which yesterday I shared this matter of fact, I've been
- 2:53Speaker 2: saying this for a few days, is why Iran is
- 2:57Speaker 2: attacking its neighbors in the Gulf.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Fighting goes on across the region.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait all announced
- 3:08Speaker 2: new Iran attacks on them yesterday actually today, it happened
- 3:13Speaker 2: early this morning. I remember we're ten hours they're ten
- 3:15Speaker 2: hours ahead of us. The US Central Command is conducting
- 3:20Speaker 2: twenty four to seven strikes into Iran, and it's being
- 3:23Speaker 2: described from.
- 3:23Speaker 3: The seabed to space to cyber space.
- 3:27Speaker 2: And in Lebanon, Israel is ramping up its fight against Hezblah,
- 3:33Speaker 2: the lunatics that have decided they're going to join the fight,
- 3:38Speaker 2: even though Lebanon or Hezbola and Lebanon has had nothing
- 3:42Speaker 2: to do with this. It was against Iran, So of
- 3:44Speaker 2: course they start launching missiles and now Israel goes after them.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Israeli military issued a warning to those people in South Lebanon,
- 3:54Speaker 2: get the hell out.
- 3:56Speaker 3: What else is going on.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Funeral rights for the Grand Vizier there hormone has been postponed,
- 4:05Speaker 2: although you're going to see millions of people out there
- 4:08Speaker 2: who are going to be going to his funeral, and
- 4:11Speaker 2: they will be demonstrating. The big issue also is evacuation
- 4:16Speaker 2: of the hundreds of thousands of foreigners in these major capitals,
- 4:20Speaker 2: major cities across the region. The US State Department is
- 4:24Speaker 2: now facilitating charter flights. And this was a real tough
- 4:27Speaker 2: one because the Trump administration had no plans, didn't have
- 4:32Speaker 2: contingency plans to evacuate Americans from all of these gul states,
- 4:37Speaker 2: and they were caught flat footed.
- 4:39Speaker 3: And you got one reason going one way.
- 4:41Speaker 2: You got Donald Trump saying something, Marco Rubio saying something,
- 4:44Speaker 2: and they're just just absolutely bouncing around. I mean, this
- 4:48Speaker 2: is not being handled well. This is the aftermath. Day
- 4:51Speaker 2: two is not good at all. The attacks are brilliant,
- 4:56Speaker 2: that's one thing that a military does brilliantly, our military.
- 5:00Speaker 2: But the problem is what happens after that. That's where
- 5:02Speaker 2: we're not very good at We're not good at all.
- 5:05Speaker 2: So that's up in the air. The President said the
- 5:08Speaker 2: United States might deploy the Navy to escort commercial ships
- 5:12Speaker 2: through the Strait of Hormuz.
- 5:15Speaker 3: The it just goes on the death toll in Iran.
- 5:19Speaker 2: The Red Crescent Society, their Red Cross said the death
- 5:23Speaker 2: toll is seven.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Hundred and eighty seven. Also, this didn't get a lot
- 5:26Speaker 3: of traction.
- 5:27Speaker 2: And I don't understand why the bombing of a girls
- 5:30Speaker 2: elementary school in Iran, it is being reported, killed at
- 5:34Speaker 2: least one hundred and seventy five people, mainly girls, schoolgirls.
- 5:38Speaker 2: And you would think the killing of those many people
- 5:42Speaker 2: with a direct hit, those many youngsters, with a direct
- 5:46Speaker 2: hit on the school, would be huge news with huge reaction.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I'm kind of surprised that did not happen. And here
- 5:55Speaker 3: in the United.
- 5:56Speaker 2: States, a Fed Reserve officer told The New York Times
- 6:00Speaker 2: energy prices could translate to a more persistent inflation problem.
- 6:04Speaker 3: How is it that it could persist? How is it that.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Higher prices don't specifically translate to.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Inflation?
- 6:15Speaker 2: And then I want to end with this one, and
- 6:16Speaker 2: then I'm going to go on with California politics a
- 6:19Speaker 2: little bit, and that is Turkey's Defense ministry announced that
- 6:24Speaker 2: a ballistic missile fired from Iran had been shot down
- 6:28Speaker 2: by NATO air defenses heading towards Turkey, heading towards Turkish airspace.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Now this one, I can't believe that Iran is this nuts.
- 6:40Speaker 3: I think it's pretty nuts.
- 6:42Speaker 2: I mean, I've talked about this before and I will
- 6:45Speaker 2: again as to why Iran is in this position and
- 6:48Speaker 2: why these hardliners I think are kind of nuts, but
- 6:51Speaker 2: this one is particularly crazy.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Why is that?
- 6:54Speaker 2: Because an attack on Turkey means it's an attack on
- 6:58Speaker 2: a NATO country, which means under Article five of the
- 7:02Speaker 2: NATO Charter, every single one of those NATO countries, twenty
- 7:09Speaker 2: seven of them would be at.
- 7:10Speaker 3: War with Iran.
- 7:14Speaker 2: And now Iran is at war with basically the entire world,
- 7:18Speaker 2: the entire Western world. And if they think Putin is
- 7:21Speaker 2: going to jump in and defend, or maybe China is
- 7:24Speaker 2: going to jump and defend, ain't going to happen. I mean,
- 7:28Speaker 2: I just I don't get it. I don't get it.
- 7:30Speaker 2: I don't in many cases. And it's really important to
- 7:33Speaker 2: them to develop those ballistic missiles, and it's really important
- 7:36Speaker 2: for them to develop that nuclear program. Although I will say,
- 7:40Speaker 2: and one of the other controversies is the argument is
- 7:44Speaker 2: that there was no eminent fear of attack. There was
- 7:48Speaker 2: no eminent attack. I agree Iran was not imminently within
- 7:52Speaker 2: days or weeks of having a bomb and using it.
- 7:54Speaker 2: I don't think so but long term, I mean, they
- 7:57Speaker 2: already had the three thousand missiles is what's being counted
- 8:01Speaker 2: and reported on. So do you wait until they have
- 8:03Speaker 2: ten thousand missiles? Do you wait until they actually do
- 8:07Speaker 2: develop a bomb? So let's say it's a year from now,
- 8:10Speaker 2: when do you cut off the head of the snake?
- 8:12Speaker 3: Do you wait?
- 8:13Speaker 2: And that's why I think there's a lot of justification
- 8:15Speaker 2: here my call on this. Okay, California politics are fascinating.
- 8:19Speaker 2: A couple things about California politics, state politics.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Interesting thing.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Number one, if you're a Republican, particularly right, Democrats outnumber Republicans.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Registered Democrats outnumber Republicans by about two to one, Republicans
- 8:33Speaker 2: don't have a much of an easy shot at getting
- 8:36Speaker 2: elected in this state. The Democratic Party has a super
- 8:41Speaker 2: majority both the Senate and the Assembly. They can override
- 8:46Speaker 2: and veta override any veto, and they have a Democratic governor,
- 8:50Speaker 2: which means that well, basically, anything that the governor and
- 8:56Speaker 2: or the legislature wants happens.
- 9:00Speaker 3: That's one.
- 9:01Speaker 2: The other issue is that California runs the top two
- 9:07Speaker 2: winners in the primary in the gubernatorial primary, and it
- 9:12Speaker 2: doesn't matter what party they are. So if you have
- 9:16Speaker 2: two Democrats that are in the top two. You have
- 9:19Speaker 2: a Democrat running against a Democrat. Now, usually when it
- 9:22Speaker 2: comes to primaries, you think of a Republican versus a
- 9:26Speaker 2: Democrat running and then you elect one or the other.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Not in California, it's the top two, no matter what.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Why is that so important? I mean, come on, it
- 9:34Speaker 2: doesn't matter. Democrat is going to be elected. Yeah, hang
- 9:38Speaker 2: on a minute. The Democrat State Democratic Party Chair Rusty
- 9:42Speaker 2: Hicks wrote a letter, an open letter, and he said
- 9:47Speaker 2: that the Democratic candidates who are the lowest in the polls,
- 9:55Speaker 2: the opinion polls, should drop out of the race. And
- 10:00Speaker 2: he said, even though the odds are relatively low, California
- 10:03Speaker 2: cannot risk a Republican being elected as the next governor
- 10:07Speaker 2: at a time when President Trump is in the White House.
- 10:10Speaker 2: And why, hang on a minute, does that make any sense.
- 10:16Speaker 2: A Democrat, of course, is going to be elected. Republicans
- 10:19Speaker 2: are out number two to one, well with the two
- 10:22Speaker 2: party with the two top candidates rule getting There are
- 10:28Speaker 2: nine Democrats that are running, only nine and the fear
- 10:35Speaker 2: is they are going to split the vote, cannibalize each
- 10:39Speaker 2: other in such a way as that the two top
- 10:43Speaker 2: candidates may be Republicans because there are so few Republicans running,
- 10:51Speaker 2: and now here comes the argument of racism.
- 10:53Speaker 3: I even love this one.
- 10:56Speaker 2: So Thurman, Okay, Tony Thurman, who is is black and Latino,
- 11:02Speaker 2: he states superintendent of public Instruction.
- 11:05Speaker 3: He posted a.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Video accusing the party of urging every person of color
- 11:08Speaker 2: to drop out of the race. All you care about
- 11:11Speaker 2: is white people. Well, actually, what we care about are
- 11:16Speaker 2: the polls. If you look at the polls, it shows
- 11:19Speaker 2: that you who happened to be black and a Latino
- 11:23Speaker 2: or black, you're not getting the support in terms of
- 11:27Speaker 2: the electorate. We want you to drop out. No, no,
- 11:29Speaker 2: you want me to drop out because I'm black. Bernie
- 11:33Speaker 2: Sanders was right. Our political system is rigged, corrupted by
- 11:37Speaker 2: the political elites, the wealthy and the well connected.
- 11:39Speaker 3: He sounds like Donald Trump.
- 11:41Speaker 2: The California Democratic Party is essentially telling every person of
- 11:45Speaker 2: color in the race for governor to drop out. And
- 11:49Speaker 2: he said the party favored three flawed white candidates, billionaire
- 11:53Speaker 2: Tom Steyer, Representative electric Eric Stallwell, and former Representative Katie Porter.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Now I find that fascinating because is everything racial?
- 12:05Speaker 3: Is that where we're at?
- 12:07Speaker 2: Because let's say you happen to be part of a
- 12:10Speaker 2: group and you are arrested. Let's say let's say you're
- 12:14Speaker 2: in South Central, which is primarily black, and you get arrested.
- 12:19Speaker 2: You didn't get arrested because you may be a criminal
- 12:22Speaker 2: or the accusation is real.
- 12:23Speaker 3: You've got arrested because you're black.
- 12:25Speaker 2: If you're polling less than two percent of the vote,
- 12:29Speaker 2: and the state party chair says, hey, stay the hell
- 12:32Speaker 2: out of the race because you're so low in the polling.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Oh no, it's not because of that. It's because I
- 12:41Speaker 2: am black. That's how crazy it has. Is there anything
- 12:44Speaker 2: that doesn't touch an argument or an acquisition of racism anymore?
- 12:50Speaker 3: It does not.
- 12:52Speaker 2: So you've got two nine Democrats running and you've got
- 12:58Speaker 2: two Republicans running, And is the splintering going to happen
- 13:03Speaker 2: to such an extent that Republicans are going to be
- 13:06Speaker 2: at the top.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Of the market.
- 13:08Speaker 2: There, wow, really really crazy stuff. And the five candidates
- 13:17Speaker 2: is a Public Policy Institute poll find that the five
- 13:20Speaker 2: candidates who lead the contests have well, each of them,
- 13:25Speaker 2: I have more than five percent of the vote, the
- 13:29Speaker 2: other ones have. Of the other four, each of them
- 13:33Speaker 2: have less than five percent. But if you have four
- 13:37Speaker 2: each of them having let's say four percent, that's sixteen
- 13:40Speaker 2: percent of the vote. You think that's enough to really
- 13:43Speaker 2: affect a primary election, you bet it is. Okay, Now,
- 13:48Speaker 2: the elections are coming up November, as you know, big time.
- 13:51Speaker 2: And here is the argument that's being made, since the
- 13:56Speaker 2: elections are rigged as a matter of course, because to
- 14:00Speaker 2: certainly MAGA followers and the president, if a Democrat wins
- 14:04Speaker 2: an election, it is rigged. The only free election in
- 14:08Speaker 2: this country is if a Republican wins. That is our democracy. Okay,
- 14:15Speaker 2: with that in mind, here is the myth that's going around,
- 14:19Speaker 2: and that is that the president will declare a national
- 14:22Speaker 2: emergency based on the fact that we have no democracy
- 14:25Speaker 2: and the elections are rigged and will eliminate the elections
- 14:30Speaker 2: in November. We'll simply say that's democracy demands that we
- 14:35Speaker 2: have an election that is not rigged, and therefore I
- 14:39Speaker 2: am declaring an emergency. This is Donald Trump saying that
- 14:42Speaker 2: and election the election will be either eliminator or postponed.
- 14:46Speaker 2: And of course the president remains a president. Well, that
- 14:48Speaker 2: is a myth. Now, as much as the president is
- 14:51Speaker 2: interfering or wants to interfere, that's not the avenue he's
- 14:54Speaker 2: going to take. That's not the way it works at all.
- 14:58Speaker 2: What he wants to do is simply ban mail ballots,
- 15:03Speaker 2: ban voting machines because of foreign intervention, and demand ID
- 15:11Speaker 2: for voting to prove your an American citizen. Now a
- 15:14Speaker 2: lot of us think that, you know, demanding ID. I
- 15:17Speaker 2: mean it says only citizens can vote, that's the law.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Then what is wrong with saying, okay, you've got to
- 15:24Speaker 2: prove it. So here is what the other side says
- 15:27Speaker 2: that demanding ID disenfranchises people because a lot of really poor.
- 15:31Speaker 3: People don't have ID. But then the argument.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Also reads that by law they should be transported to
- 15:38Speaker 2: polling booths because they can't get there.
- 15:41Speaker 3: It's you know, it's a dumb argument.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I think that somehow does away with the mail in
- 15:49Speaker 2: ballot and the votes. And even though the president says
- 15:53Speaker 2: that he has the right to go in and institute changes,
- 15:59Speaker 2: he does. The Constitution is very very clear, which says
- 16:04Speaker 2: the states control the manner and the place and the
- 16:08Speaker 2: time that elections will be held. It's right there. The
- 16:14Speaker 2: federal government does not have the power to do that. Now,
- 16:18Speaker 2: it's a stretch to say that the very nature of
- 16:22Speaker 2: elections are fraudulent and the president therefore can declare an
- 16:27Speaker 2: emergency and undo the voting itself. That is going to
- 16:34Speaker 2: be a stretch and where the court's.
- 16:36Speaker 3: Going to go with that one? Huh?
- 16:39Speaker 2: And the guy who was part of the lawsuits on
- 16:46Speaker 2: behalf of Donald Trump to undo all this a guy
- 16:49Speaker 2: by the name of Peter Tickton.
- 16:51Speaker 3: He's a Florida lawyer.
- 16:53Speaker 2: And what he is advocating is this draft executive order
- 16:57Speaker 2: that's going around and he is part of the pro
- 17:02Speaker 2: Trump activists to say their in coordination with the White
- 17:04Speaker 2: House on the seventeen page draft executive order that claims
- 17:10Speaker 2: China interfered in the twenty twenty election. That's the basis
- 17:14Speaker 2: to declare a national emergency because of a.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Foreign power interfering in our election.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Therefore the president has the right to come in and
- 17:24Speaker 2: change it. By the way, I don't know how China
- 17:27Speaker 2: interfering or not undoes what the Constitution says in terms
- 17:32Speaker 2: of the states controlling it. I have yet to figure
- 17:35Speaker 2: that one out. But here is the well, here's exactly
- 17:41Speaker 2: the argument, and this from a Tickton. Here we have
- 17:44Speaker 2: a situation where the president is aware there are foreign
- 17:47Speaker 2: interests that are interfering in our election process, and that
- 17:51Speaker 2: causes a national emergency where the president has been able
- 17:54Speaker 2: to deal with. Now, there is evidence that China considered
- 17:59Speaker 2: influencing the election but didn't go through with him. And
- 18:03Speaker 2: keep in mind, in the twenty sixteen election where he won,
- 18:06Speaker 2: where there was more than just an argument that Russia
- 18:11Speaker 2: was interfering with the election, the president said that that
- 18:14Speaker 2: is a hoax because Putin was in favor of Donald Trump.
- 18:19Speaker 2: And therefore, again, anybody in favor is a friend, anybody
- 18:23Speaker 2: against is an enemy. So there is the president coming
- 18:29Speaker 2: in and interfering with the election, seeking executive power over
- 18:34Speaker 2: the elections by declaring an emergency that a foreign power
- 18:39Speaker 2: is interfering. Therefore he has the right to override the constitution, override.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Article one straight out. Where do you think the courts
- 18:49Speaker 3: are going to go on this one? Huh?
- 18:51Speaker 2: I mean, this is chutzpah with a capital ch. That's
- 18:56Speaker 2: it's astounding. It's weird times weird, okay. And and Padilla,
- 19:04Speaker 2: Alex Padilla, our senator is preparing for the president to
- 19:08Speaker 2: declare a national emergency. And now can you imagine the
- 19:12Speaker 2: state senator saying, let's prepare for this to undo the
- 19:18Speaker 2: state election power. It's crazy stuff, okay, good news. Why
- 19:24Speaker 2: you can no longer afford auto insurance? Okay, auto insurance
- 19:28Speaker 2: here in California. Boy are we lucky? Rate increases exceeding
- 19:33Speaker 2: thirty percent since twenty twenty two.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Why, well, it's a perfect storm. And let me put
- 19:39Speaker 3: the reasons.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Well, there's several reasons. One of them the price. The
- 19:43Speaker 2: cars are heavier, okay, and they do more damage. The
- 19:48Speaker 2: prices of parts are way more. You've got evs, which
- 19:54Speaker 2: are more expensive to fix if a battery goes south
- 19:57Speaker 2: or is somehow damage. The cost of a battery in
- 20:02Speaker 2: an EV is let's say, astronomical. You also have the
- 20:07Speaker 2: tariffs that make cars more expensive, and it just keeps ongoing.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Oh. The other thing is it's the insurance.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Commissioner here in California who either okays or.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Denies rate increases.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Matter of fact, a couple of times, like State Farm
- 20:22Speaker 2: had a rate decrease during the pandemic because they were
- 20:26Speaker 2: sell you were still paying insurance and you weren't driving,
- 20:30Speaker 2: and so we actually got a rate decrease.
- 20:32Speaker 3: How is that for a miracle.
- 20:33Speaker 2: So you have an insurance commissioner who is elected.
- 20:39Speaker 3: That's very few states do that, and so the.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Insurance commissioner sort of has a duty or has a
- 20:49Speaker 2: responsibility to the electorate, which means that since he in
- 20:55Speaker 2: this case has to be elected, you're not going to
- 20:57Speaker 2: see him jumping on rate increases.
- 21:00Speaker 3: It just isn't a good thing.
- 21:02Speaker 2: So it's very difficult to get a rate in a
- 21:05Speaker 2: rate increase in California, and.
- 21:07Speaker 3: It bills, and it bills and it.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Bilds, and finally the balloon pops and there is no
- 21:13Speaker 2: choice because insurance companies are saying, Okay, we're leaving the state.
- 21:17Speaker 2: We can't make any money, We're out the door. Oh wait, oh,
- 21:21Speaker 2: wait a minute. What's going to keep you here? How
- 21:24Speaker 2: about you getting the rates or part of the rates
- 21:27Speaker 2: that you want so you can stay here.
- 21:30Speaker 3: That is the other problem.
- 21:32Speaker 2: What was it last year averages six percent up the
- 21:37Speaker 2: top ten insurers. In twenty twenty four, that was a
- 21:40Speaker 2: fifteen percent height. Now this is cumulative, this is year
- 21:43Speaker 2: to year. So let's start in twenty twenty three, thirteen
- 21:46Speaker 2: percent jump, twenty twenty four fifteen percent jump. Last year
- 21:51Speaker 2: only six percent jump. But add all that together and
- 21:55Speaker 2: that means the California driver paid the state's average premium
- 22:00Speaker 2: of eighteen hundred or one thousand dollars in twenty twenty
- 22:03Speaker 2: two is going to be paying hundreds dollars more today.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Yep, there we go.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Also the new safety features that help reduce collisions and
- 22:13Speaker 2: the other thing about cars. Do you remember there was
- 22:15Speaker 2: a law that was passed that say that a bumper
- 22:18Speaker 2: had to somehow maintain the ability to keep its shape
- 22:25Speaker 2: and not be repaired with a collision of five miles
- 22:28Speaker 2: an hour or less. That used to be the law
- 22:31Speaker 2: that it literally had to sustain, be able to sustain
- 22:35Speaker 2: a five mile an hour collision and not be damaged
- 22:37Speaker 2: at all. Today, a five mile per hour collision, your
- 22:43Speaker 2: bumper is going to cost forty eight thousand dollars to replace.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Now is that hyperbole? Maybe, but not very much. Have
- 22:54Speaker 2: you done a car repair lately? It's thousands of cars
- 23:02Speaker 2: are just that more expensive. And that's why Proposition one
- 23:08Speaker 2: O three passed by the way in nineteen eighty eight,
- 23:11Speaker 2: because the premiums were skyrocketing. So there we Therefore, we
- 23:15Speaker 2: elected an insurance commissioner who has the authority to reduce
- 23:19Speaker 2: or deny insurance requests. And what ends up happening is
- 23:24Speaker 2: the insurance the uh. The insurance commissioner makes the decision.
- 23:31Speaker 2: I mean he has he has the pencil, and if
- 23:35Speaker 2: an insurance company's selling millions, hundreds of millions of dollars
- 23:39Speaker 2: in California insurance maybe billions, has to go to the
- 23:42Speaker 2: insurance commissioner and go please please, unlike ol of for twist,
- 23:48Speaker 2: can I have seconds? Please?
- 23:51Speaker 3: It's excuse me, sir? May I have some more? Yeah?
- 23:56Speaker 2: There's that too. Yeah, okay, you got the point. Don't
- 24:00Speaker 2: correct me.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Okay, after today, the day after, No, it's tomorrow, tomorrow.
- 24:06Speaker 3: Yeah, that's annie.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:07Speaker 3: No, well seconds isn't the seconds Oliver twist? Do I
- 24:11Speaker 3: have that? Right?
- 24:12Speaker 2: No?
- 24:12Speaker 3: Can I have some more? No?
- 24:14Speaker 2: I understand that, But where did it come from?
- 24:20Speaker 3: I am the ghost of Christmas? Further on the.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Yeah, that didn't happen either, No, no, I don't think so. Okay,
- 24:30Speaker 2: we're done coming out. Yeah, not that one either, right, Okay,
- 24:37Speaker 2: we are so done. We'll come back. Doctor Jim Keeney
- 24:41Speaker 2: joins us. We have some medical news. Oh no, we don't.
- 24:46Speaker 2: We have the midterm contest. We have that, right, Yeah, yep.
- 24:51Speaker 3: It's going to.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Reveal a lot about Trump and Democrat doctor Jim is
- 24:54Speaker 2: at eight thirty, So we'll be right back about some
- 24:57Speaker 2: election news yesterday with some big news, and then we
- 25:02Speaker 2: have an initiative here in California that is really big
- 25:06Speaker 2: news and the Trump followers and the Conservators are jumping
- 25:11Speaker 2: up and down on this one. This is a win
- 25:14Speaker 2: for California for them, or in California for them. We'll
- 25:18Speaker 2: be back with all of that, and I'm sure you're confused,
- 25:21Speaker 2: because I was just confused.
