- 0:01Speaker 1: Every team, every topic, everywhere. This is believed.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Hey, I really make us a delicious dinner. Here's the
- 0:11Speaker 2: mission today. We're going to Dollar General with a budget
- 0:13Speaker 2: of thirty five dollars. We're gonna let Ai decide what
- 0:17Speaker 2: exactly our appetizer, our main course, in our dessert is.
- 0:21Speaker 2: And the mission is something weird, something unique, something that
- 0:24Speaker 2: none of us have ever tried or even heard of before. Well,
- 0:28Speaker 2: let's see if we can do this, all right, vam.
- 0:30Speaker 2: We're heading to the old Dollar General. The mission under
- 0:35Speaker 2: thirty five dollars, and we're gonna let Ai decide what
- 0:40Speaker 2: we're gonna have for an appetizer, for a main course,
- 0:45Speaker 2: and for a dessert. Are you scared or are you good?
- 0:51Speaker 2: Anybody scared? You think it's gonna be good? Do you
- 0:53Speaker 2: think it's gonna be weird?
- 0:56Speaker 3: Aves?
- 0:58Speaker 2: So we're gonna do is. We're gonna pull into the
- 0:59Speaker 2: Dollar General parking lot. We're gonna go to the old
- 1:02Speaker 2: AI probably the chat G to the P to the T,
- 1:05Speaker 2: and we're just gonna say, hey, we got thirty five bucks.
- 1:09Speaker 2: We're at Dollar General. Make us some weird food combinations
- 1:14Speaker 2: that we've never heard of, that we've never tried. It's
- 1:17Speaker 2: either gonna be really really good or it's gonna be
- 1:18Speaker 2: really disgusting. So I guess let's see what happens to
- 1:23Speaker 2: DG we go? He goes ready, Yeah, let's.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Go chilling at d to the G getting ready to go.
- 2:10Speaker 2: It's our favorite Eubleton Dollar General. Let's get into this.
- 2:15Speaker 2: So I'm gonna put into my phone. I'm gonna say,
- 2:17Speaker 2: you know, you know, we got thirty five dollars budget.
- 2:19Speaker 2: We're going into Dollar General. Build this the meals You've
- 2:21Speaker 2: heard about it, I've said it, and here's the results.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Are you ready?
- 2:25Speaker 5: Fan?
- 2:27Speaker 2: Can we build an amazing dinner using only Dollar General
- 2:31Speaker 2: budget under three thirty five bucks? We're gonna go with
- 2:33Speaker 2: an appetizer. Are you ready? Are you ready? Guess what
- 2:36Speaker 2: the appetizer is? Garlic parmesan waffle fries. So apparently we're
- 2:42Speaker 2: gonna get a box of frozen waffles, some ingredients, and
- 2:46Speaker 2: we're gonna have a couple of little different dipping sauces,
- 2:50Speaker 2: and we're gonna have We're gonna have waffle parmesan fries.
- 2:54Speaker 2: What do you think about that?
- 2:56Speaker 6: Sounds pretty good?
- 2:58Speaker 2: Sounds good?
- 2:59Speaker 7: All right?
- 2:59Speaker 2: So far, so good? But are we ready for the
- 3:02Speaker 2: main course waffle, grilled cheese, burgers, frozen waffles, frozen hamburger patties,
- 3:11Speaker 2: some cheese, and it says optional bacon, but in my opinion,
- 3:15Speaker 2: bacon is not optional. So we're gonna get some some
- 3:18Speaker 2: frozen bacon strips. We're gonna assemble them. I don't feel
- 3:23Speaker 2: about that. I'm excited for that one frozen waffle drizzle
- 3:27Speaker 2: with maple maybe all right? All right, are we allowed
- 3:32Speaker 2: to if we have like tomatoes or any veggies at
- 3:36Speaker 2: the house, where we can use what we have, right,
- 3:39Speaker 2: I feel yeah, all right, personalizing a little bit, okay,
- 3:44Speaker 2: And then we're going to do for dessert a candy
- 3:48Speaker 2: biscuit bomb. So probably saying, what the HEP's a candy
- 3:53Speaker 2: biscuit bomb, Well, that's a good question. We're going to
- 3:55Speaker 2: take a h what are they frozen doughs, like a
- 3:59Speaker 2: biscuit dough, and then we're gonna drop in any candy
- 4:03Speaker 2: that we want in it, wrap it, bake it, and
- 4:06Speaker 2: then we're gonna drizzle it with a cinnamon sugar if
- 4:09Speaker 2: you want, or you can have it at this If
- 4:11Speaker 2: we want a little chocolate syrup or something on it,
- 4:13Speaker 2: that might be all right. That's that sound like that?
- 4:16Speaker 2: Sound good? All right? I feel like we got a meal.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Let's go shop it, let's go cook it, let's go
- 4:24Speaker 2: eat it. Are we ready? Let's do it today? Alright?
- 5:09Speaker 2: So far you got the waffles, you got the biscuits.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Alright, we yeah burgers. Very good time for check out.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Do you think we kept it under thirty five to
- 6:00Speaker 2: do some math because we did buy some other stuff.
- 6:02Speaker 2: But we'll see. We're just leaving the Dollar General. We
- 6:05Speaker 2: heard about a frog. Our favorite cashier, Tiffany, found a
- 6:10Speaker 2: frog in the store. Was what covered in cobwebs. So
- 6:13Speaker 2: she cleaned the frog up and put them outside the
- 6:17Speaker 2: storres on giving them water anything. I was trying to
- 6:19Speaker 2: see outside of the store where the frog is. Did
- 6:21Speaker 2: you guys see they are? I'm trying to look. The
- 6:23Speaker 2: frog's still here, it's hanging out. It's alive. She's the
- 6:27Speaker 2: frog queen. We gotta do a little math. You gotta
- 6:29Speaker 2: calculate her out anybody here in the truck. I want
- 6:32Speaker 2: to see if we if we stayed under budget. Okay,
- 6:37Speaker 2: so we did add a couple of extra things. So
- 6:41Speaker 2: the total on our bill was fifty eight eighty eight,
- 6:44Speaker 2: but we got to do a little minus. We bought
- 6:46Speaker 2: some Blue Life for Papa because he came over and
- 6:49Speaker 2: helped us control some bats. So go ahead and do
- 6:52Speaker 2: minus uh where is on this? Minus seven and then
- 6:59Speaker 2: minus eight seventy because you know, a couple of blue
- 7:04Speaker 2: a couple of Miller Lottes might be good on a Sunday.
- 7:07Speaker 2: What do we got the cookie dough bites minus two?
- 7:13Speaker 2: And then we added on would you go with cookies
- 7:16Speaker 2: and cream ice cream? Minus three twenty five, and then
- 7:21Speaker 2: we added some George Tom sugar waffle cones minus one eighty.
- 7:28Speaker 5: Oh.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Our total without taxes, which is gonna be a little
- 7:32Speaker 2: bit cheaper, is thirty five dollars eighty eight cents. Again,
- 7:37Speaker 2: we're gonna I don't know the math. It'd be whatever
- 7:39Speaker 2: times eight percent. So we're under budget. We're under thirty five.
- 7:44Speaker 2: We did it under thirty five. Fist bump, wife, boom,
- 7:47Speaker 2: fist bump. Eve's all right now, we gotta go home
- 7:50Speaker 2: and cook cooking montage starts when.
- 7:56Speaker 6: Yeah, now.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Do quick. I want to apologize. We had a little
- 9:42Speaker 2: bit of some audio issues after we did the cooking
- 9:46Speaker 2: and stuff like that. There was a setting on the
- 9:48Speaker 2: laptop that was not right and there was just a
- 9:52Speaker 2: piece of equipment that was having issues. It's been resolved.
- 9:55Speaker 2: I do sound a little robotic, so it is what
- 10:00Speaker 2: it is. You know, sometimes this stuff happens in podcasting
- 10:03Speaker 2: with kids and chaos. So just want to throw that
- 10:06Speaker 2: out there again. Sorry for the audio issues. Hopefully you
- 10:09Speaker 2: have enjoyed it to this point. Hopefully you still see
- 10:12Speaker 2: the end results we have with the cooking stuff that
- 10:16Speaker 2: seem to enjoy them. Sorry, we'll do better, Bye bye.
- 10:21Speaker 2: All right, everything is cooked. We survived. Dollar General. I
- 10:25Speaker 2: was trying to find out if this is actually, I guess,
- 10:28Speaker 2: restaurant worthy or if we just wasted thirty five dollars
- 10:31Speaker 2: eighty eight cents in an hour or all of time
- 10:34Speaker 2: by you to get hot in the kitchen. We turned
- 10:36Speaker 2: on the EBB in a four hundred to make the dessert,
- 10:39Speaker 2: the burgers, the frozen ones, made it absolute mass. Which
- 10:42Speaker 2: one of you knuckleheads is going to do all the
- 10:44Speaker 2: grease cleaning?
- 10:46Speaker 7: Got me?
- 10:47Speaker 2: Crickets, they're pointing to me, fair enough, who is joining us?
- 10:52Speaker 2: The voice you're hearing, it's me. It's man, It's Beard
- 10:53Speaker 2: Loss Who's joining us today in the kitchen studio for this.
- 10:57Speaker 6: Wildness Hey, ry.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Meg, this is this is an interesting one. So, like
- 11:04Speaker 2: we showed you Ai and shout out Evan from the
- 11:08Speaker 2: cake episode, and he said that we had to do
- 11:10Speaker 2: an episode where Ai decided what we were going to eat.
- 11:13Speaker 2: So we tried it and it's interesting. We gotta start
- 11:18Speaker 2: with the appetizer. Low made the appetizer low and do
- 11:20Speaker 2: you want to explain how you did it? How you
- 11:22Speaker 2: made them, the process, what's in them?
- 11:25Speaker 5: So I double cooked the waffles in the toaster oven
- 11:27Speaker 5: and then I put butter, ranch, she's name, garlic salt, Nope,
- 11:31Speaker 5: garlic powder, and parmesan.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Cheese on it. So we have waffle garlic parmesan fries. Yeah,
- 11:39Speaker 2: which I think paired very well with the burger and everything.
- 11:42Speaker 2: So they're a little bit colder because they were one
- 11:44Speaker 2: of the first things done. Is what it is. I
- 11:47Speaker 2: think I'm gonna go with a bare bite just as is.
- 11:52Speaker 2: You guys are ready, let's do this. I mean, I'm
- 12:00Speaker 2: I mean pretty good. They're pretty dark good. Yeah, these
- 12:04Speaker 2: are And I'm gonna I'm gonna do a little maple
- 12:06Speaker 2: that Meg's gonna go with a little ranch. I don't
- 12:09Speaker 2: know if Mabel's gonna be the move.
- 12:10Speaker 6: But.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Stop bad with.
- 12:15Speaker 7: Ranch.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I'm gonna try a little ranch as well. Okay, I
- 12:22Speaker 2: almost think ranches the move here mm hm, which I
- 12:25Speaker 2: hope nobody had heard that, because love staring at me
- 12:30Speaker 2: ranch is the move mm hm. Really it is. And
- 12:34Speaker 2: that's coming from a not an overly ranch of lover.
- 12:38Speaker 2: I'm not a hater, but.
- 12:40Speaker 6: Maybe go away from plain the best.
- 12:44Speaker 2: All right, first impressions. Anybody eves you're still chewing away,
- 12:48Speaker 2: it's all right, I can skip you. First impression. Second impressions,
- 12:51Speaker 2: and uh, maybe you're even a rat again this.
- 12:56Speaker 7: I thought they were good. I wasn't expecting them to,
- 12:59Speaker 7: maybe because I didn't like the smell of them.
- 13:02Speaker 2: But I come, I guess you shouldn't judge a book
- 13:06Speaker 2: by the smell of its cover.
- 13:08Speaker 7: Mm hmm.
- 13:09Speaker 5: Yeah, well, these were what I was looking forward to
- 13:13Speaker 5: the most. No, they did not, and I think I'm
- 13:16Speaker 5: going to disagree with you. I think maple is better
- 13:18Speaker 5: than ransh.
- 13:19Speaker 6: I didn't try it with the maple.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Get in there in the maple. I guess I need
- 13:24Speaker 2: to try it again with a little more mapele.
- 13:28Speaker 5: I didn't because the maple makes the waffle taste like waffle.
- 13:30Speaker 5: The ranch just hides the waffle taste.
- 13:32Speaker 6: I agree, I think the maple is better with it.
- 13:36Speaker 2: I took a little more of an aggressive dip with
- 13:38Speaker 2: the maple. I'm agreeing as well. That's pretty good. These
- 13:43Speaker 2: are great. I mean this is is this going to
- 13:45Speaker 2: be something that might end up in our our meal
- 13:48Speaker 2: rotation again at some point where we just take some waffles,
- 13:51Speaker 2: I'd say, yes, a little garlic parm print, yeah right.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Let me ask you this, if you were to go
- 13:56Speaker 2: out to a restaurant and they had waffle garlic palm
- 14:00Speaker 2: fries on their menu, would you be inclined to have
- 14:04Speaker 2: it as a side an appetizer? Where does this fit?
- 14:07Speaker 2: I guess? On on a menu? Would it be more
- 14:11Speaker 2: appy or would it be more of like an ad
- 14:12Speaker 2: on fry, Like say you got something a chicken sandwich
- 14:15Speaker 2: or something. Would you be like, can I get the
- 14:17Speaker 2: the waffle parmesan garlic fries with it?
- 14:20Speaker 5: Or I'd say definitely it's an add on and I
- 14:23Speaker 5: wouldn't be inclined to get it if I didn't try.
- 14:25Speaker 6: It, I think I would. You would have to call
- 14:27Speaker 6: it something different though, because there are waffle fries, oh true,
- 14:32Speaker 6: So you might have to like, do like buttermilk waffle.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Fries or something like that breakfast waffle fries? Yeah, what
- 14:38Speaker 2: would you think? Ames would you? I guess that's true
- 14:40Speaker 2: because I guess if I'm thinking waffle fries, I'm thinking
- 14:42Speaker 2: the criss cross apple sauce waffle fries.
- 14:45Speaker 7: I call them garlic parm waffle fries.
- 14:48Speaker 2: What would you still think they were garlic parm waffle fries?
- 14:51Speaker 6: Because those are a thing.
- 14:54Speaker 7: Waffle strip frozen because they could still be a frozen
- 14:58Speaker 7: waffle strips.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Waffles, Okay, I like that instead of the friese waffle strips.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Those are good. You guys agree that they would be
- 15:05Speaker 2: like an add on or a side to a meal
- 15:07Speaker 2: rather than an appetizer.
- 15:10Speaker 7: I think it could be either.
- 15:12Speaker 2: I agree, what will be the appropriate amount of waffles
- 15:16Speaker 2: for an appetizer? Like, if you were expecting, say nine
- 15:19Speaker 2: ninety nine, you get the appetizer for the waffle strips,
- 15:23Speaker 2: how many waffles do you think there should be? I
- 15:27Speaker 2: guess as an appetizer two two?
- 15:29Speaker 6: You think two for nine ninety nine, I would say four.
- 15:32Speaker 7: I would say four.
- 15:36Speaker 2: I was like thinking side, Yeah, this would be for
- 15:38Speaker 2: an appy, say five ninety nine, two nine ninety nine four,
- 15:42Speaker 2: fifteen ninety nine six or whatever, thirteen ninety nine six. Yeah,
- 15:45Speaker 2: you do that? What style restaurant? Do you think this
- 15:48Speaker 2: sits better?
- 15:49Speaker 6: Diner?
- 15:49Speaker 2: Our food diner, diner shire? I mean, what side? What
- 15:55Speaker 2: kind of percentage?
- 15:55Speaker 6: We are like one of those late night oh joint,
- 16:00Speaker 6: you know what I mean? This was like a how
- 16:03Speaker 6: Denning's used to be. Yeah, okay, these are fanchet, these
- 16:09Speaker 6: are I'd make these again?
- 16:13Speaker 2: And uh yeah, way did go? Chat ChiPT is off
- 16:18Speaker 2: to a great start. And I mean at this point,
- 16:21Speaker 2: ten dollar general meals hold up to restaurants style quality,
- 16:26Speaker 2: maybe not a restaurant and restaurant and definitely a diner.
- 16:31Speaker 2: We're up to a good turning these waffles. I think
- 16:33Speaker 2: we're where do we go at the dollar or two?
- 16:36Speaker 2: When we went the Plover Valley sometimes one of the
- 16:38Speaker 2: cheap ones. The we went with a ranch seasoning pack
- 16:41Speaker 2: at a dollar, So I mean we're probably into this.
- 16:46Speaker 2: We already had butterlaner al most people do. Where we're
- 16:48Speaker 2: probably what this appetizer? How many waffles did you use?
- 16:51Speaker 5: Four?
- 16:52Speaker 2: So not even a half a box. You're probably less
- 16:56Speaker 2: than a dollar for this appetizer. And if you sold
- 16:59Speaker 2: it for five seven dollars. What would you think if
- 17:03Speaker 2: you walked into a restaurant wanted this appetite? What would
- 17:05Speaker 2: you charge? James, this was your diner?
- 17:07Speaker 7: Six ninety nine, six ninety nine?
- 17:09Speaker 2: Low, what are you thinking?
- 17:11Speaker 5: It depends on how many waffles four four probably like
- 17:15Speaker 5: just like you made it.
- 17:16Speaker 7: Probably seven.
- 17:18Speaker 5: Ninety nine.
- 17:20Speaker 6: I'm saying five ninety nine, so anywhere.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd say I'm between that five to seven ninety
- 17:24Speaker 2: nine range. Pretty decent. I mean you'd make that's a
- 17:27Speaker 2: good profit margin. That's a good percentage on what you did.
- 17:30Speaker 2: I liked it. I love it all right, so months
- 17:34Speaker 2: and more. Definitely want some more of them. So we're good.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Do we need to rank them or we just want
- 17:40Speaker 2: to get into the main main course? Appathizes done getting
- 17:43Speaker 2: in the main course. Yeah, so main course we did.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Uh it is a waffle burger. Oh what it is
- 17:52Speaker 2: is wafberger.
- 17:53Speaker 6: So essentially it's think as waffle grilled cheese burger.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Two waffles, a frozen burger, slice of cheese, and some
- 18:01Speaker 2: microwave bacon. I mean we probably have when we got
- 18:04Speaker 2: eight into that was the Burger's like six bucks Clover Valley,
- 18:08Speaker 2: six bucks waffles were like two, so there's eight bucks.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Microwave bacon was a couple of bucks, so we're probably
- 18:15Speaker 2: it's say ten bucks eleven bucks total, not see if
- 18:18Speaker 2: this main meal holds up? Did Dollar General give us
- 18:21Speaker 2: a restaurant just based on look? You guys can take
- 18:24Speaker 2: a bike while on talking, just to kind of feed
- 18:26Speaker 2: it looking at this first impression? Would I see this
- 18:29Speaker 2: at a restaurant restaurant? No? Yeah, this is this is megs.
- 18:35Speaker 2: This is a visual for anybody that's on the YouTube.
- 18:37Speaker 2: If you are only listening, you are missing out base
- 18:41Speaker 2: first impression. Anybody that's not chewing or taking a bite.
- 18:43Speaker 2: What you guys can go for it? Would you say
- 18:45Speaker 2: that you would see this at a restaurant? Because I'm
- 18:48Speaker 2: getting diner vibes again on a late night, like more
- 18:51Speaker 2: diner vibes. Is there a restaurant around here that you
- 18:55Speaker 2: could see maybe serving this?
- 18:56Speaker 5: Yeah, silver relief, silver lead diner.
- 19:01Speaker 2: That could be a good one. I agree with you.
- 19:03Speaker 2: First thing that popped in my head this is a
- 19:05Speaker 2: place I haven't been, But I was just like, maybe
- 19:08Speaker 2: maybe the new coffee shop in the Ville, maybe they
- 19:12Speaker 2: could serve up something like this, but they maybe it's
- 19:14Speaker 2: not their vibe. I don't know. Again, this isn't me
- 19:16Speaker 2: being there, it's just seeing a little bit on social media.
- 19:19Speaker 6: Probably they do more like sour doughe sandwiches.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Yeah, it had to be dinerish. You guys have taken
- 19:26Speaker 2: a flight or too. Are you happy with it's sad
- 19:28Speaker 2: with it?
- 19:29Speaker 7: It's really it's good. Yeah. I think the foods like
- 19:33Speaker 7: mix well together.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Like the appetizer to the main course. They're pretty good together. Interesting,
- 19:39Speaker 2: pretty good megs again in there, what about food truck
- 19:42Speaker 2: I could see this food truck style. I mean it's quick,
- 19:45Speaker 2: you pop down there. You're just doing cheap patties, a
- 19:48Speaker 2: little bacon. Now would it be better or worse? You
- 19:50Speaker 2: think with some veggies you throw in some lettuce, a
- 19:52Speaker 2: traditional one to be worse right better?
- 19:54Speaker 6: It's a kind of sauce.
- 19:55Speaker 2: What do we think that let's talk this through. Maybe
- 19:57Speaker 2: we need a little bit bit different, Maybe we need
- 19:58Speaker 2: a little bit of.
- 20:00Speaker 6: Garlic or not a grolic, like a maple mail or something.
- 20:05Speaker 2: So if here makes up a mental male, I think
- 20:08Speaker 2: it'd be to do that real quick. And you think
- 20:11Speaker 2: it got you think it goes right in on the waffle.
- 20:15Speaker 6: I think squirt it on. You want to make some
- 20:18Speaker 6: up proper.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree that first impression, and we do have
- 20:25Speaker 2: maple syrup that we're dipping it in. I feel like
- 20:28Speaker 2: maple syrups and moved. I think it'd be weird, would
- 20:30Speaker 2: touch up foster traditional burger shop. M I think a
- 20:36Speaker 2: male would be all right good. Yeah, the maple itself
- 20:40Speaker 2: is fantastic with a let's get a little crazy with
- 20:43Speaker 2: if you put a garlic thry funny. Let me get
- 20:48Speaker 2: this mm hmm that garlic pop mm hmmm mm hmmmm
- 21:00Speaker 2: mm hmm. The garlic pop. You're just gonna go a
- 21:03Speaker 2: little ranch. You're gonn try a little ranch with urger? Okay,
- 21:07Speaker 2: the garlic pop is nice with this. Doesn't give a
- 21:12Speaker 2: little little sting thumb or no, what's the ranch? There's
- 21:17Speaker 2: my ranch on that.
- 21:21Speaker 7: I like it with ranch. I think you could go
- 21:23Speaker 7: catch up, like, yeah, I can't ketch up, especially it's
- 21:27Speaker 7: a burger.
- 21:28Speaker 6: I went maple just because you thick maple when you
- 21:31Speaker 6: don't have a waffle. But it's not really necessary.
- 21:38Speaker 2: I'm not scared to try to catch up. Maybe you
- 21:40Speaker 2: attract him. That was a stretch. What do you what
- 21:43Speaker 2: do you? What do you. What are you up on
- 21:45Speaker 2: the garlic or to ketchup? You got a weird thing.
- 21:48Speaker 2: She's she's chewing, so I'm getting the it's ranch. Oh
- 21:52Speaker 2: she's not digging the ranch? Was avery shaking the ketchup bottle? Yes,
- 21:56Speaker 2: there's no who's getting sipp over here? The ketchup will
- 21:59Speaker 2: be all right? This is a This is a reminder
- 22:02Speaker 2: make sure you always shake a ketchup. Nobody likes that
- 22:04Speaker 2: ronney tomato juice. I don't think they were. I'm gonna
- 22:08Speaker 2: do a little tomato tomato juice. I know you do,
- 22:11Speaker 2: But the tomato juice from a ketchup. Nobody really likes that.
- 22:15Speaker 2: We got a little bit of a drop here. We're
- 22:16Speaker 2: go get the dogs in here for some clean up duty.
- 22:18Speaker 2: I mean, overall this is good. Now, I think it
- 22:22Speaker 2: would be better with some without frozen patties. Get that
- 22:26Speaker 2: nice little bit burger in there, home of a good burger?
- 22:29Speaker 2: Can I take your order?
- 22:31Speaker 7: The ketchup's good. Ket I like to ketchup the best?
- 22:38Speaker 2: Do you like to catch up? Best? So far?
- 22:41Speaker 6: See youre chip's okay? A little more burger? I think
- 22:47Speaker 6: I like it just with maple the most.
- 22:50Speaker 7: All right, I'm taking the ketchup.
- 22:53Speaker 2: I be guessing like I think I was a do
- 22:55Speaker 2: old burger mode on this. A little bit of mayonnaise,
- 22:57Speaker 2: a little bit of ketchup, a little bit of mustard.
- 22:59Speaker 2: I get it's gonna pop.
- 23:01Speaker 6: I'm gonna give you go the maple. It's more of
- 23:03Speaker 6: a breakfast option. If you go to catch up, it
- 23:07Speaker 6: turns it more until like a lunch dinner.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Now would this be something that you would ever consider
- 23:12Speaker 2: ordering for a breakfast or you thinking lunch or dinner?
- 23:15Speaker 2: Or could it be ordered anytime of the day.
- 23:18Speaker 5: I'd get mine for breakfast with just a maple.
- 23:23Speaker 7: I wouldn't want for breakfast because I don't want a
- 23:26Speaker 7: burger early in the morning.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Well, so what's the difference if would you order a
- 23:30Speaker 2: bagel with sausage or bacon? I mean, what's the difference.
- 23:34Speaker 7: Yeah, but that's different.
- 23:37Speaker 2: I know it's not a burger, but I mean sausage
- 23:39Speaker 2: and burger they're fairly you don't know.
- 23:42Speaker 7: A sausage is breakfast food, a burger's not.
- 23:46Speaker 2: But they have grilled sausages like a hot dog.
- 23:51Speaker 6: I don't eat those.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Saying in general, so we agree that quite.
- 23:56Speaker 6: I mean, i'd say brunch. I would go more lunch, and.
- 24:03Speaker 2: I'm only arguing to argue for the sake I would
- 24:05Speaker 2: not order one of these for breakfast either. You know
- 24:08Speaker 2: what I mean. I think it's a brunch, lunch, a dinner,
- 24:12Speaker 2: a dinner. I mean it's it's pretty good. Do you
- 24:16Speaker 2: think it's better than you thought it was going to be?
- 24:18Speaker 2: Just exactly or not as good as you thought it.
- 24:21Speaker 6: I think it's like how I expected.
- 24:24Speaker 7: I think it's better than I thought it was going
- 24:25Speaker 7: to be.
- 24:25Speaker 2: You're not a burger lover, so I was interested. You
- 24:27Speaker 2: know what I mean. You don't hate them, but you
- 24:28Speaker 2: don't love them.
- 24:30Speaker 6: WHOA you put maple in yours though, right like like
- 24:35Speaker 6: you assembled it with maple. We're just different. Hers might
- 24:39Speaker 6: feel little bit.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Different, little saturated in there.
- 24:43Speaker 5: Yeah, I both holes in my waffle to let the
- 24:46Speaker 5: syrup drip into it.
- 24:49Speaker 2: So for anybody that's wondering how we assembled them, obviously
- 24:52Speaker 2: cooked the waffles, frozen waffles, let them down, cut the burgers,
- 24:57Speaker 2: cooked the baking them, just assembled. Then after we assemble,
- 25:00Speaker 2: we threw them into a pan, steamed them to let
- 25:02Speaker 2: the cheese melt and crisp it up just a little
- 25:05Speaker 2: bit right, like a grilled cheese. Kind of like a
- 25:09Speaker 2: grilled cheese. Pretty good, pretty good stuff. Are we at
- 25:14Speaker 2: the point where we tried the dessert and then we
- 25:18Speaker 2: we we give it an a seawall win, Seawell looses,
- 25:21Speaker 2: We do some ratings on us. Yeah, these are pretty good.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Remember the goal is to see ten dollar General create
- 25:26Speaker 2: anything from her that you could see at a restaurant.
- 25:29Speaker 6: I could see this being really good too, if you
- 25:32Speaker 6: had I didn't use butter, like butter to grill it afterwards,
- 25:36Speaker 6: or use a panini press. See that that would nice
- 25:40Speaker 6: flight hard crisp. I'm outside, I think that would.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Have been like and obviously maybe let's throw this out here.
- 25:47Speaker 2: What if you were to take like a pancake mix
- 25:49Speaker 2: or waffle mix and make a genuine pancake or waffle
- 25:53Speaker 2: at that size? You think it would be a little
- 25:55Speaker 2: bit better? Do you think the frozen ones are just
- 25:56Speaker 2: as good?
- 25:58Speaker 7: I think you need frozen for the extra crisp, okay crutch.
- 26:02Speaker 7: I think it would be good with some normal waffle.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Better or just as good, or like a noticeable difference.
- 26:08Speaker 2: If you were to do a blind taste test.
- 26:11Speaker 7: Yeah, I'd be able to tell the difference because the
- 26:13Speaker 7: frozen waffles, like thinner and like more, meant to be
- 26:17Speaker 7: part of bread.
- 26:21Speaker 2: I wait until you took a play. I'm kind of
- 26:22Speaker 2: like a waiter waitress. I wait to come over and
- 26:24Speaker 2: ask how things are when you are chewing your food. Now,
- 26:29Speaker 2: I think while those chewing, you give us an answer here.
- 26:32Speaker 2: I think if you wanted it at a restaurant, I
- 26:35Speaker 2: think you could potentially elevate this with a real waffles,
- 26:39Speaker 2: a real burger, maybe even a smash birger, you know,
- 26:42Speaker 2: maybe a different kind of cheat, not you know what
- 26:44Speaker 2: I mean, some real bacon instead of you know. Again,
- 26:48Speaker 2: this is Dollar General, I think, as is diner food smashes.
- 26:51Speaker 2: You can buy some stuff from DG and do there.
- 26:53Speaker 2: If you wanted a real, nice, different style restaurant, I
- 26:56Speaker 2: think they could elevate this.
- 26:58Speaker 5: I think you would have to overcook the awful to
- 27:00Speaker 5: make it be able to be a sandwich.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Is the only problem, Golden, Yeah, I'm mad at that.
- 27:06Speaker 2: So so far, Diner, we don't have anything that could
- 27:09Speaker 2: be at a restaurant restaurant at this point. Maybe an
- 27:12Speaker 2: old country restaurant. But have you guys ever seen anything
- 27:16Speaker 2: like this with the waffle fries that are waffle strips. Sorry,
- 27:21Speaker 2: I waffle burgers. It's different. I think we came up
- 27:25Speaker 2: with something to able to sell it to a restaurant
- 27:27Speaker 2: called the Stay Out of My Fridge Special. I feel
- 27:30Speaker 2: like we got to try to the dessert and then
- 27:32Speaker 2: we got to we got to see which one's the best,
- 27:34Speaker 2: which one is the worst? Which ones? Which are we
- 27:37Speaker 2: ready for us?
- 27:40Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 27:40Speaker 2: Yeah, we gotta be. So who wants to start with
- 27:42Speaker 2: what they do? Because again they were they were what
- 27:45Speaker 2: do we call them? They were candy biscuit bombs, candy
- 27:49Speaker 2: biscuit bombs, soday. Why don't we start with you? Just
- 27:52Speaker 2: because you're on my left, We'll go clockwise. Mine is
- 27:56Speaker 2: milky Way milky Way biscuit. Yeah, so we just rolled
- 28:00Speaker 2: out the uh, the normal biscuits a little milky Way.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Her bomb did explode a little bit. They are called bombs, right,
- 28:07Speaker 2: so there was a little bit of a leakage. Some
- 28:10Speaker 2: of the chocolate did come out. But I and Lo
- 28:13Speaker 2: went with a totally different route than the other three
- 28:15Speaker 2: of us.
- 28:15Speaker 5: Would you go with I have sour dude, rainbow sour strips.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Oh, that's fun to say inside the biscuit and mag
- 28:23Speaker 2: want would.
- 28:24Speaker 6: She wanted to keep it weird?
- 28:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't hate it.
- 28:27Speaker 6: I went with like a turtle, you know, like caramel
- 28:31Speaker 6: with pecans and chocolate.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Yep, all words that Southerners say different. So you can
- 28:37Speaker 2: feel free to argue with us on the caramel or caramel,
- 28:41Speaker 2: pecans or pecans. I like how you went controversial. I
- 28:45Speaker 2: went with something that was a little bit different as well.
- 28:48Speaker 2: I went with the recees or reeses oreo minis in mine?
- 28:56Speaker 2: All right, this is what they look like. This is
- 28:59Speaker 2: of the three looking at this, I feel like this
- 29:02Speaker 2: is the one that's like restaurant style, the highest capability huh.
- 29:09Speaker 6: And looks pretty good.
- 29:11Speaker 2: I mean this is something that I feel like you
- 29:12Speaker 2: could walk into a bakery, you could walk into a
- 29:14Speaker 2: restaurant and you'd be like, well, we gotta have those.
- 29:17Speaker 2: So Meggie made these. Want to explain the process while
- 29:19Speaker 2: the girls are.
- 29:20Speaker 6: Trying, do you want to see the inside? Won't say
- 29:22Speaker 6: bite them?
- 29:23Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll show the inside at least a mine or whatever,
- 29:25Speaker 2: But do you explain?
- 29:28Speaker 6: So I took a can of biscuits dollar biscuits, and
- 29:32Speaker 6: for each biscuit, I just stretched them till they were
- 29:36Speaker 6: a little bit wider, a little bit flatter, and then
- 29:38Speaker 6: I put the candy in the middle, and then I
- 29:40Speaker 6: wrapped it up over top and pinched it all shut
- 29:44Speaker 6: and baked them and took them mouth. We brushed them
- 29:47Speaker 6: with melted butter, and then sprinkled them with sinama sugar.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Lowe's first bite, she stared at me like, oh my
- 29:55Speaker 2: god or whatever the thing is.
- 29:56Speaker 6: Oh ma, it's pretty good. I see the cookie. It
- 30:00Speaker 6: made it very sour.
- 30:02Speaker 2: It made it more sour, all right, So this is
- 30:04Speaker 2: the inside of the The sour ones didn't quite melt
- 30:09Speaker 2: as much as I thought, but a little bit. Okay,
- 30:12Speaker 2: aves you want to walk ears over and hand it
- 30:16Speaker 2: show years and years was the milky way. This was
- 30:19Speaker 2: after the cook A little messy, monny messy? What do
- 30:25Speaker 2: you think? What was I'll wait to get back to
- 30:27Speaker 2: your mike. Would you think of yours? Was it just
- 30:29Speaker 2: as good? Was it great? With it?
- 30:32Speaker 7: I thought it was like really good. It tastes like
- 30:36Speaker 7: cinnamon and chocolate.
- 30:39Speaker 6: It's good. M m.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Here's mine with the Reese's fourio. This just got better
- 30:52Speaker 2: every bite. I got hit with the cinnamon sugar top
- 30:55Speaker 2: and that was there. And then as I'm chewing. Next thing,
- 30:57Speaker 2: you know, there's a little peanut butter, a little oreo.
- 31:00Speaker 2: My mouth is, my mouth has never been happier. I
- 31:03Speaker 2: feel like this is fantastic. We got over here is
- 31:10Speaker 2: oh yeah, that's pretty fantastic. I mean these I could
- 31:17Speaker 2: see at a restaurant menu as a dessert. I mean,
- 31:23Speaker 2: this could potentially be at a high end. I don't
- 31:25Speaker 2: even see this at a diner. I feel like it's
- 31:27Speaker 2: up one.
- 31:29Speaker 6: We gotta put it on a school ice cream in
- 31:31Speaker 6: the middle and put the around it.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Mine was sitting in maple and it didn't elevate, it
- 31:38Speaker 2: didn't ruin. It just felt pretty good. This is hey good,
- 31:44Speaker 2: this is good. I mean Brice one wise, the biscuits
- 31:48Speaker 2: were a dollar, which made ten. The mini races Oriole
- 31:52Speaker 2: that the that I got was a dollar fifty. I
- 31:55Speaker 2: think the Milky Way was about a dollar. Sixty years
- 31:58Speaker 2: was a dollar or something, then just a dollar a dollar.
- 32:03Speaker 2: So I mean, at the end of the day, you're
- 32:07Speaker 2: say even three, four, five or six bucks to make
- 32:11Speaker 2: ten of those, and you have a ton of extra.
- 32:14Speaker 6: You actually got eleven because there was a bonus biscuit
- 32:16Speaker 6: in it.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Bonus biscuit. So yeah, essentially. I mean so that if
- 32:22Speaker 2: you added another dollar, you're making twenty of them, or
- 32:24Speaker 2: twenty two if you get a bonus biscuit. At what
- 32:29Speaker 2: what do we say? The map was seven buckskin tennis,
- 32:33Speaker 2: so I mean roughly, it's not bad. I feel like
- 32:37Speaker 2: I feel like that was pretty good. All right, let's
- 32:39Speaker 2: go around. Let's let's find our true winner here. Appetizer,
- 32:44Speaker 2: main course, dessert. What do you think games is the
- 32:48Speaker 2: clear winner here?
- 32:50Speaker 7: This is really hard. It's between the main meal in
- 32:54Speaker 7: the dessert.
- 32:55Speaker 2: The c like a tie, so one through ten? What
- 32:58Speaker 2: would you what would you give them all? It's let's
- 33:00Speaker 2: let's throw a number into this.
- 33:03Speaker 7: The main portion, the dessert, I would give an eight
- 33:10Speaker 7: point eight.
- 33:12Speaker 2: What would you get the appetizer? I feel like the
- 33:13Speaker 2: appetiser would have been a little bit better fresh hot
- 33:18Speaker 2: out the crispy waffle than a little bit cold.
- 33:23Speaker 7: And I give the appetizer, uh six point three?
- 33:30Speaker 2: It did they get that sour?
- 33:31Speaker 6: That is actually really good?
- 33:34Speaker 2: The cinnamon sugar sour. Low is choked up. I don't
- 33:37Speaker 2: know if it's emotional because it's so good, she's crying,
- 33:40Speaker 2: or maybe it maybe got a little bit too sour.
- 33:43Speaker 6: I feel like, you just choked, like the weirdest ones,
- 33:46Speaker 6: and somehow it works. I had my doubts about this one.
- 33:50Speaker 2: Wow, it is very sour.
- 33:52Speaker 6: No, I just choked, right, it kind of works, just weird.
- 33:58Speaker 7: I like find better, but.
- 34:00Speaker 2: It's not too bad. Makes want you wytt. You hit
- 34:03Speaker 2: us with a little bit of your rank, and we're
- 34:06Speaker 2: gonna give it a number, and then we're gonna give
- 34:08Speaker 2: it a clear winder numbers.
- 34:11Speaker 6: I would say the fries are like in eight point two.
- 34:20Speaker 6: Would have liked them, Like if we could have timed
- 34:22Speaker 6: no better. The timing was they were a little crispier,
- 34:26Speaker 6: they would have been perfect. The sandwich.
- 34:32Speaker 2: I'd say, like it.
- 34:34Speaker 6: Seven point five okay, h And the biscuit bombs I
- 34:43Speaker 6: would say, it's like a nine point five.
- 34:46Speaker 2: All right, what what are you thinking?
- 34:50Speaker 5: Fries nine point two okay, meal nine point three okay,
- 35:00Speaker 5: biscuit bombs seven point two?
- 35:04Speaker 2: Ooh, because you you didn't love it?
- 35:07Speaker 7: Huh.
- 35:07Speaker 2: Maybe it's not I love it.
- 35:09Speaker 6: It's just not as good as the others.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Okay.
- 35:12Speaker 6: But I'm also not a sweet person like.
- 35:13Speaker 7: I like a lot more.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Yes, she said that you heard it on camera. Sorry, Elsie,
- 35:19Speaker 2: She's just not a sweet person. Ah, So if you
- 35:23Speaker 2: went with a different option in your biscuit bomb, do
- 35:25Speaker 2: you think, like if there was a white chocolate, there
- 35:27Speaker 2: was a different candy, you think you would have liked
- 35:29Speaker 2: a little bit more, you think so?
- 35:30Speaker 6: No? I think I just like it savory more.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Okay, fair enough, savory avery all right, So I'm gonna
- 35:39Speaker 2: go appathizer. Waffle strips they were, And keep in mind
- 35:46Speaker 2: name made tough, but a fair judge. Okay, I think
- 35:48Speaker 2: the waffle strips were me. The number that keeps landing
- 35:51Speaker 2: in my head is eight point three. The main course
- 35:56Speaker 2: number for me that keeps popping into my brain is
- 35:57Speaker 2: like a seven point two. It was good. I haven't
- 36:00Speaker 2: quite found the combo with the ketchup the maple. Maybe
- 36:03Speaker 2: it gets better. Am I going to demolarship? Absolutely sevens
- 36:06Speaker 2: solid score for me. The dessert that I had was
- 36:10Speaker 2: absolutely fantastic. Apparently got a sweet tooth right now. Eight
- 36:13Speaker 2: point eight for me for the the candy biscuit bombs.
- 36:18Speaker 2: So for me, the appetizer went appetizer, their dessert appy
- 36:23Speaker 2: main course.
- 36:24Speaker 7: Apes minds main meal and dessert are tied, and then
- 36:31Speaker 7: appetizers low.
- 36:34Speaker 5: Minds Maine appetizer.
- 36:39Speaker 6: Dessert.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Okay, yours was we're going nice first.
- 36:45Speaker 6: So mine was the biscuit bombs, then the fries, then
- 36:49Speaker 6: the sandwich.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Okay, so we're pretty we're pretty close there between what
- 36:54Speaker 2: was there between the mains? Maine and dessert were right there.
- 36:58Speaker 2: So I guess the whole point of the video was
- 37:01Speaker 2: can Dollar General produce a restaurant quality meal?
- 37:07Speaker 7: Meal?
- 37:08Speaker 2: Is a General? Is that a restaurant quality meal? I
- 37:11Speaker 2: don't think it's a restaurant quality meal from Dollar General.
- 37:13Speaker 2: I think it potentially is a diner style meal, so
- 37:16Speaker 2: maybe that counts, but restaurant itself, I don't think this
- 37:22Speaker 2: randomness makes it into a restaurant. You guys agreed, disagree, Yes.
- 37:26Speaker 5: But I think that's just because of the choice of food,
- 37:30Speaker 5: because this is breakfast.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Food, understand, And I think, well, I know, we'll hit
- 37:35Speaker 2: up our favorite DG Dollar General. We're gonna hit them
- 37:38Speaker 2: up again for some other craziness. I mean, we're getting
- 37:40Speaker 2: to the point where you know, the cashiers are like, hey,
- 37:43Speaker 2: doing another video, Yeah, what are you doing today? I
- 37:45Speaker 2: feel like, other than the frog excitement, she was pretty
- 37:47Speaker 2: excited about what we had going on. Hopefully the footage
- 37:51Speaker 2: is a little bit better. We got some new recording stuff.
- 37:53Speaker 2: We're trying to elevate things. So, Nick, you think dollar
- 37:58Speaker 2: General make a restaurant style meal based on what we
- 38:01Speaker 2: made today under thirty five dollars.
- 38:04Speaker 6: I think guess okay, I think you could make it
- 38:07Speaker 6: happen fair enough.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Any restaurants out there you want our recipes, you want
- 38:13Speaker 2: you know, our meals, please hit us up. We would
- 38:16Speaker 2: love to see this on the menu. A little stay
- 38:17Speaker 2: out of my fridge menu, This would be cool. I
- 38:19Speaker 2: feel like a couple of tweaks here or there. We
- 38:22Speaker 2: find ourselves in the old restaurant and.
- 38:25Speaker 6: They do have some products that are a little bit more, more,
- 38:30Speaker 6: better quality, better, you know, maybe like a dollar or
- 38:34Speaker 6: two more. Yeah, it's not eting crazy, but yeah, we
- 38:37Speaker 6: did the cheapest of the cheap, the cheapest.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Yeah, like maybe maybe the echoes are a little bit
- 38:42Speaker 2: better than the Clover Valley waffles, maybe the cheese a
- 38:46Speaker 2: little bit, and maybe the we maybe we debated smash
- 38:48Speaker 2: burgers or the other burgers. You know, maybe we get
- 38:51Speaker 2: the ground meat form our own patties have them season
- 38:55Speaker 2: So yeah, all right, that's all we got. I'm gonna
- 38:59Speaker 2: finish this. You know, probably gonna be some leftover, so
- 39:02Speaker 2: make sure you kids stay out of my fridge. That's
- 39:05Speaker 2: all I gotta get. Say anything else, Nope, all right,
- 39:08Speaker 2: we'll be back next week. Another craziness. Maybe you'll see
- 39:11Speaker 2: maybe you'll see low, Maybe you'll see maybe you'll see me.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Who knows, who's gonna come back. That's all we got.
- 39:18Speaker 2: We'll be back next Take care, everybody, Bye.
- 39:20Speaker 6: Bye bye, bye bye knocking.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Who's there? It's the podcast?
- 39:25Speaker 6: Who have toys?
