But the seller might ask you Mkate gani? Luna: Mkate gani? What kind of bread? Lucas: Right. For example, Mkate wa ngano — wheat bread. Luna: Mkate wa ngano. Lucas: Or mkate wa mahindi — corn bread. Luna: Okay, so I can say Nataka mkate wa ngano. Lucas: Exactly. Nataka mkate wa ngano. Luna: Nataka mkate wa ngano. Lucas: You did it. Then you ask the price: Bei gani ya mkate? Lucas: So let's put it together. I'm the seller, you're the customer. Luna: Okay. Lucas: Karibu. Unataka nini? Luna: Nataka mkate. Lucas: Mkate gani? Luna: Mkate wa ngano. Lucas: Bei gani ya mkate? Luna: Mkate ni shilingi mia moja. Lucas: Perfect! You are ready to buy bread.
