- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Well, I'm actually outside of the coop area.
- 0:32The girls have already run out because we had quite the weather
- 0:36event with more rain than I have ever seen come down for a length
- 0:41of time. And when I tell you as I'm
- 0:43walking around out here and squishing everywhere, it's like
- 0:47everything is squishing and we have a a lake more than a pond
- 0:52right now, and every other area is filled up with water gardens.
- 0:58Thank goodness we didn't put any vegetables out at all, yet they
- 1:02would have drowned. It just has been an epic amount
- 1:07of water coming out and girls are quite enjoying going around
- 1:11and digging in all the mud. They are filthy, disgusting and
- 1:14happy as little larks running around here looking for bugs.
- 1:18But that is not the point of the story.
- 1:20The point of the water story is that as I was watching it come
- 1:24down and I was completely stressed out about the fact that
- 1:27this water was coming down in such torrential amounts, it was
- 1:31just, you just couldn't even imagine how hard it was raining.
- 1:35And I kept saying to myself, this has to stop.
- 1:38I mean, like, what is going on? I can't believe how much water
- 1:41there is. And I hear myself in my head
- 1:43telling myself, this has to stop telling myself as if I have any
- 1:46control over this. And it goes on for most of the
- 1:51day that I can. I hear myself doing this.
- 1:55And I'm just shocked that I keep saying it over and over, knowing
- 1:58full well that I have 0 control over anything that's happening,
- 2:02like 0 control. But that really is irrelevant
- 2:05because no matter what, I'm just going to keep going.
- 2:08My certainty girl is in full charge.
- 2:10And I'm watching it and it's filling up with water and
- 2:13filling up with water. And I'm thinking to myself,
- 2:15where's it going to go? And I start to my my certainty
- 2:19is now kicking into anxiety. And then the anxiety piece of it
- 2:23is also kicking in because I'm supposed to be having some
- 2:25irrigation put in for the farm. And I'm like, he's never going
- 2:29to get here. And I'm catastrophizing
- 2:31everything that I possibly can and I'm not stopping myself.
- 2:35That's the crazy thing Now as much as I know, and this is the
- 2:38reason why I'm telling you the story.
- 2:40As much as I know, and as much as I can talk about this and do
- 2:43this 90% of the time for myself, there are certain subjects that
- 2:47really still are buttons for me. That one of them would be this
- 2:51stuff happening on the farm, things I cannot control.
- 2:55Being in a relationship with another person, you can't
- 2:58control that, so those are always hot buttons.
- 3:00There are just certain times that you have to recognize that
- 3:04you are at the mercy of the situation and you have to decide
- 3:08how you want to handle it. But mind you, all this is going
- 3:11on. I'm already in a heightened
- 3:13state of a mix of excitement and frustration.
- 3:17Believe it or not, those two were driving because I was
- 3:20redesigning the new website. I can't stand the platform we
- 3:25have and very fortunate for us, we found another platform that
- 3:29allows me to do it the way I really want to do it.
- 3:32They did not offer this service when we built the new one out
- 3:35and now here we are working on this.
- 3:37So now I'm also sitting there in this driven mode because can't
- 3:41go anywhere, can't do anything, roads are flooded.
- 3:43I mean, it was bad. I couldn't even really want to
- 3:46go out in the truck anything because it was just too much.
- 3:49So I'm already in this heightened state of emotion is
- 3:53the point. And then all of a sudden now
- 3:55here I am in this have to surrender situation.
- 3:59So there's one piece of this where I can take charge these
- 4:02two emotions where I'm like oh, I'm excited and I'm so
- 4:05frustrated at the same time because I'm doing this website
- 4:08more excited than frustrated, really happy and blessed for the
- 4:11solution, but still frustrated that all this money, time,
- 4:14effort between myself, my team, everything has like is being
- 4:18essentially torn apart and put into a new frame and I have to
- 4:23tell them where I want things. So I'm excited and I'm
- 4:26frustrated. Those are the two drivers.
- 4:28Now comes in certainty, which is, you know, my girl, the one
- 4:33who will freak me out. Always love her, make sure I'm
- 4:36always on time. Make sure I does this every I do
- 4:39this every morning. She's the girl.
- 4:40But at this point I'm like, I don't need her to show up when
- 4:44it comes to the weather. So now I've got these group,
- 4:47this group at the front of the bus, these five drivers that are
- 4:50making me insane because I can't stop the rain and I feel myself
- 4:56getting more and more anxious. Water's going up and the girls
- 5:01are like out in the rain, can't get them to come back in no
- 5:04matter what I do. They're chickens.
- 5:06They don't care. They're not listening to me.
- 5:08I can't command them around. They're.
- 5:09I think that's probably why I love them so much, because
- 5:12they're not like dogs. I can bribe them with food, but
- 5:15then they do their own thing. And I was just, I spent the
- 5:19whole day with my head spinning, spinning.
- 5:23And I thought to myself, you know, I have to talk about this
- 5:26because by the time I recognized it, it was night time.
- 5:29And I went to make popcorn to watch the Batman movie before it
- 5:34leaves Netflix. And all of a sudden I had this
- 5:38whole thing about, Oh my gosh, it's a 3 hour movie.
- 5:42What about this? And my son looks me as mom
- 5:44Saturday. Why do you care?
- 5:46And I'm like, I don't know. The clocks are going back.
- 5:49And I felt all five of those emotions still present in my
- 5:52choices and everything I was doing.
- 5:54And when I caught it, I went, whoa, whoa, wait a second.
- 5:57I'm completely blindsided by this because I wasn't aware of
- 6:02how they were still sticky. They were stuck to me.
- 6:05So I'm telling you all this because I want you to know no
- 6:08matter what you are doing, you have to make sure you are not
- 6:11being, you know, being in that state of having sticky emotions
- 6:16still with you. Because if you do, they will
- 6:20influence everything you're about to do.
- 6:23And I had such a great reminder with it.
- 6:24And I'm like, you know what? We're going to start off this
- 6:26week with a great reminder about this for everybody else because
- 6:29being sticky is no bueno. OK, my friends, I hope you have
- 6:33a blessed day and I will see you all tomorrow.
- 6:35Bye.
