- 0:25All is fine in Florida, where I'm at, where I've been since we
- 0:30started this podcast. And I want to thank those who
- 0:34wrote and emailed and called while things were a little hairy
- 0:38and scary. And just to let you know that
- 0:40for the most part, everything is fine here, although I can't
- 0:44speak for the 10s of thousands of people around the country who
- 0:49are enduring quite a bit of hardship.
- 0:50And yeah, you know, I see it on TV and it looks pretty awful.
- 0:56And I've been through that before.
- 0:58And I think if we go back to a couple of years ago, I provided
- 1:03some content on the last hurricane that I was in.
- 1:06And again, it's, it's just the process of life.
- 1:09And I'll tell you though, I am assured and I feel good that
- 1:16these things always bring out the best in people.
- 1:19There's no question about that. So in the last episode or the
- 1:23last podcast, we've been would have been delving into the the
- 1:29actual words of Jesus throughout his life.
- 1:33And we're focusing on that period just before he went about
- 1:39his public preaching and teaching.
- 1:41And, and now we're in the phase where his actual public
- 1:45teachings are sort of wrapping up and, and he took time to
- 1:51speak about certain things that just when you read them, it's
- 1:57absolutely amazing. And last time we explored what
- 2:00the master said about reality itself.
- 2:05And now from from, I think it's paper 143 or it's.
- 2:12Yeah. And now he's going to give a
- 2:14discourse on time and space. And time and space are two huge
- 2:22preoccupations of modern science and philosophy as well.
- 2:27And so the pretext to this is that these are the words of
- 2:32Christ as he communicated them to the people of his day and
- 2:36age. But they have been sort of
- 2:39updated to our own English. And so the revelators, they,
- 2:44they wanted the truths of what Jesus taught these people to
- 2:49also teach us. And so on time and space, the
- 2:55story starts here. And he is talking to people
- 2:59privately, and he's teaching them the the Creator Son of the
- 3:04universe, the bestowal son, in the presence of these men is
- 3:09teaching them about the realities of time and space.
- 3:14So it reads that at Carthage Jesus had a long and memorable
- 3:18talk with a Mithraic priest about immortality, about time
- 3:23and eternity. Now this Persian had been
- 3:26educated at Alexandria and he really desired to learn from
- 3:31Jesus put into the words of today.
- 3:34In substance, Jesus said in answer to his many questions,
- 3:39Time is the stream of flowing temporal events perceived by
- 3:43creature consciousness. Time is a name given to the
- 3:48succession arrangements whereby events are recognized and
- 3:53segregated. The universe of space is a time
- 3:56related phenomenon as it is viewed from any interior
- 4:01position outside of the fixed abode of Paradise.
- 4:06The motion of time is only revealed in relation to
- 4:10something which does not move in space.
- 4:12As a time phenomena in the universe of universes, Paradise
- 4:19and its deities transcend both time and space on the inhabited
- 4:25worlds. Human personality, indwelt and
- 4:28oriented by the Paradise Father's spirit, is the only
- 4:33physically related reality which can transcend the material
- 4:37sequence of temporal events. Animals do not sense time as man
- 4:45does, and even to man, because of his sectional and
- 4:49circumscribed view, time appears as a succession of events.
- 4:55But as man ascends, as he progresses inward, the enlarging
- 5:01view of this event procession is that is such that it is
- 5:06discerned more and more in its wholeness.
- 5:10That which formerly appeared as a succession of events, then,
- 5:15will be viewed as a whole and perfectly related cycle.
- 5:20In this way, will circular simultaneity increasingly
- 5:24displace the one time consciousness of the linear
- 5:29sequence of events. There are 7 different
- 5:35conceptions of space as it is conditioned by time.
- 5:40Space is measured by time, not time by space.
- 5:46The confusion of the scientist. Now remember, this is the
- 5:49Creator's Son teaching mankind. The confusion of the scientists
- 5:56grows out of the failure to recognize the reality of space.
- 6:02Space is not merely an intellectual concept of the
- 6:05variation in relatedness of universe objects.
- 6:09Space is not empty, and the only thing man knows which can even
- 6:15partially transcend space is mind.
- 6:20Mind can function independently of the concept of space
- 6:24relatedness of material objects. Space is relatively and
- 6:29comparatively finite to all beings of creature status.
- 6:34The nearer consciousness approaches the awareness of
- 6:38seven cosmic dimensions, the more does the concept of
- 6:43potential space approach ultimacy.
- 6:48But the space potential is truly ultimate only on the absolute
- 6:52level. It may be apparent that
- 6:57universal reality has an expanding and always relative
- 7:01meaning on the ascending and perfecting levels of the cosmos.
- 7:05Ultimately, surviving mortals achieve identity in A7
- 7:10dimensional universe. The time space concept of a mind
- 7:17of material origin is destined to undergo successive
- 7:21enlargements as the conscious and conceiving personality
- 7:26ascends the level or the levels of the universe.
- 7:29So with each stage of those seven cosmic dimensions, we, our
- 7:35vision, our spiritual vision, our visual, our mind
- 7:39appreciation and and conceptual understanding will expand
- 7:44sevenfold. The enlarging cosmic conceptions
- 7:50of an advancing spirit personality are due to the
- 7:54augmentations of both depth of insight and scope of
- 7:58consciousness. So as we ascend, our
- 8:01consciousness enlarges, we're able to appreciate our minds
- 8:05become almost super, and as personality passes on upward and
- 8:12inward to the transcendental levels of Deity, the time space
- 8:17concept will increasingly approximate the timeless and
- 8:20spaceless concepts of the absolutes or of God.
- 8:27Relatively and in accordance with transcendental attainment.
- 8:31These concepts of the absolute level are to be envisioned by
- 8:35the children of ultimate destiny.
- 8:38So we were destined to at one day in that future state, be
- 8:42able to see the universe as God sees the universe, and He is the
- 8:48only thing in the universe that doesn't change.
- 8:51He is from the outside looking in, so he sees the whole
- 8:54picture. This is when you hear Preacher
- 8:58say that God is never surprised. He never is surprised by events.
- 9:03He's not surprised by human nature because he's already seen
- 9:06it. He knows the future.
- 9:08He knows how his will is projected to be fulfilled.
- 9:13We are a part of that process. And as we ascend in his
- 9:16universe, we become more cognitive, more perceptive of,
- 9:22of understanding the wholeness of, of any given situation.
- 9:25And when you're a father and you look at your children, you have
- 9:31the insight that they don't have.
- 9:32And so you are more patient with them because you know to a
- 9:36certain degree at least what their life is going to or not
- 9:40specifically what's going to happen, but a series of things
- 9:44do occur as each of us grow. And and then that sort of gives
- 9:48you a, a glimpse of the perception of how God views the
- 9:52living universe. So that's Jesus talking about
- 9:58some pretty heavy subjects there, time and space.
- 10:01And he was speaking that to a Mithraic priest.
- 10:04And that priest actually went on to become a huge supporter of
- 10:09the early Christian Church. And I think we have time for one
- 10:13more. I wanted to do this too on
- 10:17values. It was at Angamon.
- 10:21This is from Paper 132 and this is on values and this again is
- 10:26the Creator's Son, the bestowal son of the living Father,
- 10:30sharing truth along the way to those people he met on and
- 10:34during his sojourn in Rome. So from paper 132, it's brief.
- 10:38It was at Agambon, the leader of the Stoics, that Jesus had an
- 10:42all night talk early during this his sojourn in Rome.
- 10:46This man subsequently became a great friend of Paul and proved
- 10:50to be one of the strong supporters of the Christian
- 10:52Church at Rome. In substance and restated in
- 10:55modern phraseology, Jesus taught Angamon the standard of true
- 11:01values must be looked for in the spiritual world and on divine
- 11:05levels of eternal reality. To an ascending mortal.
- 11:08All lower and material standards must be recognized as transient,
- 11:13partial, and inferior. The scientist as such is limited
- 11:17to the discovery of the relatedness of material facts.
- 11:20Technically, he has no right to assert that he is either a
- 11:24materialist or an idealist, for in so doing he is assumed to
- 11:29forsake the attitude of a true scientist, since any and all
- 11:33such assertions of attitude are the very essence of philosophy.
- 11:39Unless the moral insight and the spiritual attainment of mankind
- 11:43can proportionally be augmented, the unlimited advancement of a
- 11:47purely materialistic culture may eventually become a menace to
- 11:51civilization. A purely materialistic science
- 11:56harbors within in itself the potential seed of the
- 12:00destruction of all scientific striving.
- 12:02For this very attitude presages the ultimate collapse of a
- 12:07civilization which has abandoned its sense of moral values and
- 12:12has repudiated its spiritual goal of attainment.
- 12:17The materialistic scientist and the extreme idealist are
- 12:20destined always to be at loggerheads.
- 12:23This is not true of those scientists and idealists who are
- 12:27in possession of a common standard of high moral values
- 12:31and spiritual test levels. In every age.
- 12:34Scientists and religionists must recognize that they are on trial
- 12:39before the bar of human need. They must eschew all warfare
- 12:43between themselves while they strive valiantly to justify
- 12:48their continued survival by enhanced devotion to the service
- 12:52of human progress. If the so-called science or
- 12:57religion of any age is false, then it must either purify its
- 13:02activities or pass away before the emergence of a material
- 13:07science or spiritual religion of a truer and more worthy order.
- 13:14And those are the thoughts and teachings of Jesus as they were
- 13:182000 years ago for us to ruminate upon.
- 13:22And with that, we'll continue to pull these gems of knowledge and
- 13:28truth from the life and teachings of Jesus on this The
- 13:31Urantia Radio Podcast on December 14th.
- 13:35I will be doing a presentation. Thanks to the folks at the
- 13:39fellowship and I appreciate the opportunity and I'm going to be
- 13:43speaking on a book that I am in the process of rewriting, which
- 13:47is called Godless, How secularism is destroying
- 13:50society. I would urge you to buy the book
- 13:54after I have revised it, not the current edition.
- 13:58The current edition is incomplete and I want to have
- 14:02another stab at it, but a lot of interesting thoughts that are
- 14:06related to the problems that we're having today are directly
- 14:09a result of secularism. And in fact, Jesus just sort of
- 14:13gave testimony to that from this paper from 1:32.
- 14:17So on the 14th of December, if you want to join, go to the
- 14:22fellowship page, or you can go to just e-mail me and I'll send
- 14:25you the link. How about that?
- 14:27And you can join me in my dissertation on how secularism
- 14:31is a menace to society. And until next time, if you want
- 14:35to reach me or the program, Your Rancher book, radio@gmail.com.
- 14:41Your Rancher book, radio@gmail.com.
- 14:43And until next time, I sure appreciate you stopping by.
- 14:46And I hope that you'll share this podcast with your friends
- 14:49and fellow seekers of truth. Until next time.
