- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an unspoiled network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:10Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes six own No. Six ' ten
- 0:16Speaker 1: through six ' twelve. Fists Collide, a battle of two
- 0:20Speaker 1: vice admirals, a small dragon Mamu Nosuki appears, and mamon
- 0:29Speaker 1: Nosuke a deadly fight in a blizzard, the straw hats
- 0:33Speaker 1: versus the snow Woman. In these episodes, our friends are
- 0:41Speaker 1: still in this damn lab and we get to see
- 0:43Speaker 1: a bunch of flashbacks regarding how everybody got here. And
- 0:48Speaker 1: I really appreciate that Caesar actually is able to behave
- 0:54Speaker 1: as if he is a sane and decent person, because
- 0:58Speaker 1: the reason why folks fell for everything makes a lot
- 1:01Speaker 1: more sense.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Now, welcome to spoil.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Me, Welcome to the show everyone. Thank you very Oh wait,
- 1:27Speaker 1: I'm Natasha. Thank you very much to Florian for commissioning
- 1:31Speaker 1: this episode. Guys, I swear to God my brain lately,
- 1:36Speaker 1: I do this intro so often, and yet here I
- 1:39Speaker 1: am fucking it up. I really these episodes. First things first,
- 1:50Speaker 1: it turns out that the dragon everybody was beating the
- 1:54Speaker 1: shit out of isn't actually the child, So thank God
- 1:59Speaker 1: for that. I just want to mention that right out
- 2:01Speaker 1: of the gate. I really thought, I really really thought.
- 2:06Speaker 2: But also, this.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Dragon is voiced by the same voice actress who does
- 2:14Speaker 1: Lufy's voice, and I just don't think that was a
- 2:18Speaker 1: great call, you guys, Like, I'm curious how you all
- 2:23Speaker 1: feel about it. But personally, she does her best to
- 2:29Speaker 1: make them both sound distinct like as much as she can,
- 2:33Speaker 1: but I really found myself getting a little bit mixed
- 2:38Speaker 1: up sometimes. I feel like the moment that they are
- 2:41Speaker 1: first introduced to each other was probably the worst, because
- 2:44Speaker 1: they sound the most similar at that point. But I
- 2:50Speaker 1: just don't really know why they decided to use the
- 2:54Speaker 1: same voice actress, Like it may make a little bit
- 2:59Speaker 1: more sense later on, perhaps there's going to be a
- 3:02Speaker 1: section of the story where Loofy isn't around the dragon
- 3:06Speaker 1: as much and it's mostly other actors or other characters,
- 3:11Speaker 1: But like, from where I'm at right now, it just
- 3:14Speaker 1: seems really like you would pick anybody but Loofy because
- 3:20Speaker 1: he is spending so much time with this character. Why
- 3:24Speaker 1: would you set it up this way? So you know,
- 3:27Speaker 1: like I said, this may turn out later on to
- 3:31Speaker 1: have some reasoning behind it that I'm not able to
- 3:33Speaker 1: see yet, And that's perfectly fine, but I did want
- 3:37Speaker 1: to share how I felt about it because I can't
- 3:41Speaker 1: be the only one. I assume that in the subversion
- 3:46Speaker 1: this is not an issue because they are two completely
- 3:49Speaker 1: different voice actors, although I'm assuming that with no evidence.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I may be totally wrong. Actually, but I just the
- 4:01Speaker 1: decision making their feel strange, and I don't really get
- 4:05Speaker 1: it right now. So okay, let's jump into Monet and
- 4:12Speaker 1: her snow powers, who uh steps in at the end
- 4:17Speaker 1: of the last episode to stop the children from escaping
- 4:22Speaker 1: and to stop Mocha from As she is putting it, Monet,
- 4:27Speaker 1: she's like, stop hoarding all the candy for yourself. You're
- 4:30Speaker 1: really greedy. Make sure to share. And it's so funny
- 4:35Speaker 1: to me that at this point Monette is trying to
- 4:39Speaker 1: keep up this pretense that actually, I'm doing this for
- 4:43Speaker 1: your own good, like you're I'm still pretending to be
- 4:48Speaker 1: your friend.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Uh. I really feel like that ship has sounds, you know,
- 4:55Speaker 2: like is that just me?
- 4:57Speaker 1: I just give it up, Monette. Everybody knows what's happening here.
- 5:03Speaker 1: It's time to just let it go.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Girl.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I admire your tenacity in wanting to continue this farce,
- 5:11Speaker 1: but and maybe if it was just the children here.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Even that might feel a little bit more understandable, but
- 5:19Speaker 1: where I'm coming from right now, it just seemed like
- 5:22Speaker 1: we're already in the midst of rescuing these kids, and
- 5:26Speaker 1: you see the other straw hats here, and that one
- 5:31Speaker 1: of them knows the score and is keeping the candy
- 5:34Speaker 1: away from them. She's not able to like, you can't.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Oh my god, I was about to say, you can't
- 5:44Speaker 1: keep snowing them. I swear to God, you guys, I
- 5:48Speaker 1: didn't mean to. I really didn't.
- 5:49Speaker 2: That was an accident.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Please don't get mad at me. I can practically hear
- 5:53Speaker 1: people booing from here. Look I I'm very sorry, but
- 5:59Speaker 1: also I stand by it, and I regret nothing. So
- 6:05Speaker 1: we wind up getting this this fight, and it takes
- 6:08Speaker 1: a while to get here, but eventually what Nami winds
- 6:13Speaker 1: up doing is using this like I think she just
- 6:16Speaker 1: calls it a heat egg to burn through Monette. And
- 6:21Speaker 1: it's not like it does any real permanent damage, which
- 6:24Speaker 1: was disappointing. I didn't think it would. It doesn't seem
- 6:29Speaker 1: like logia types really sustained damage. I'm probably wrong about
- 6:37Speaker 1: that generalization, but in this case anyway, she is able
- 6:42Speaker 1: to recover quite quickly, and it's just basically that they
- 6:46Speaker 1: bought enough time to like get out of the room.
- 6:48Speaker 1: But that's about it. So let's see. Robin says, go
- 6:56Speaker 1: find some sea prismstone handcuffs. I will handle the children,
- 7:01Speaker 1: and she says, Lufy asked me to find some. So
- 7:07Speaker 1: this really I thought, guys, that whatever Robin was up to,
- 7:12Speaker 1: by the time we next saw her, her mission.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Would be completed.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Imagine my surprise when it turns out that she has
- 7:21Speaker 1: still hasn't done the thing and is actually requesting help
- 7:25Speaker 1: with completing it. And this isn't me trying to like
- 7:28Speaker 1: dunk on her exactly. It's just that normally, the way
- 7:32Speaker 1: this sort of narrative works is that you give the
- 7:36Speaker 1: audience a hint that something else is going on, that
- 7:39Speaker 1: there is some kind of other plan in play. The
- 7:44Speaker 1: audience is meant to kind of, in the excitement of
- 7:46Speaker 1: the rest of the plot, forget that that is happening,
- 7:50Speaker 1: and then you suddenly come back in like the crucial
- 7:55Speaker 1: moment with this completed mission that saves the day, and
- 7:59Speaker 1: it winds up being like the clutch thing that made
- 8:03Speaker 1: all the difference and got everybody out alive. So it
- 8:07Speaker 1: was very funny to me in a way that we
- 8:10Speaker 1: just don't do that at all here, and that she
- 8:12Speaker 1: is just asking for help on doing the thing that
- 8:15Speaker 1: she was assigned, essentially handing it off to someone else.
- 8:20Speaker 1: So Oosup and Brooke take off to get those and
- 8:25Speaker 1: the Samurai goes with them because he is determined to
- 8:28Speaker 1: find his son. So this leaves Robin, Nami, Zorro and
- 8:36Speaker 1: Chopper here in this room going up against Mocha. I
- 8:41Speaker 1: really must protest again the fact that Mocha's tick is
- 8:44Speaker 1: to lick her lips. It's so creepy. It's like, actually, great,
- 8:49Speaker 1: you know that, because I like that. It makes her
- 8:53Speaker 1: a little bit creepier. It adds something to her character
- 8:57Speaker 1: that I think she might be kind of flat without.
- 9:00Speaker 1: So I don't actually have an issue with it, but
- 9:05Speaker 1: it is very off putting. I was truly surprised how
- 9:10Speaker 1: such a small thing could make me just be like ugh,
- 9:13Speaker 1: but truly hated it. So then we jump over to
- 9:19Speaker 1: Smoker and he is this is so funny to me.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I love this so much. He's in this room, he
- 9:27Speaker 1: has caught up with Virgo, and he looks around at
- 9:33Speaker 1: all of the tanks of this like glowing green liquid.
- 9:37Speaker 1: And then he looks at Vigo and says, what's going on?
- 9:42Speaker 1: Those look mighty ominous, and Vergo just says they are,
- 9:50Speaker 1: but they're none of your concern, y'all. I don't know why.
- 9:57Speaker 1: The fact that a character straight up replies, oh they
- 10:01Speaker 1: are ominous was so funny to me. But I would like,
- 10:06Speaker 1: if anything, I would have expected him to ignore that
- 10:09Speaker 1: part of the statement and only say it's none of
- 10:13Speaker 1: your business. But the fact that he went ahead and
- 10:17Speaker 1: responded with like, oh, yeah, you should be worried, except
- 10:20Speaker 1: he doesn't say it that way. He doesn't say it
- 10:23Speaker 1: like a threat. He says it like, oh, yeah, these
- 10:26Speaker 1: things they are ominous, which something about that in particular
- 10:32Speaker 1: that delivery is really hilarious to me. And he is
- 10:39Speaker 1: like Law is over in the.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Corner and he has fucked up. You guys.
- 10:47Speaker 1: This man is so busted, and he's saying, he's yelling
- 10:52Speaker 1: up to Virgo, I'm not giving up. I'm your opponent,
- 10:56Speaker 1: you bastard. Vigo just winds up squeezing his heart again.
- 11:01Speaker 1: I have to assume there is some reasoning behind the
- 11:05Speaker 1: way that he keeps kind of like trying to get
- 11:09Speaker 1: Virgo's attention. Maybe he's trying to give Smoker an advantage
- 11:14Speaker 1: by distracting Virgo. But you know, the man literally is
- 11:19Speaker 1: holding your heart in his hand. How do you think
- 11:25Speaker 1: you are going to be able to like one up
- 11:28Speaker 1: this guy. I just I kept watching it, like thinking,
- 11:32Speaker 1: did he drop his heart? Why is he acting as
- 11:34Speaker 1: if this is something that he can negotiate? And no,
- 11:38Speaker 1: it's just just just for future reference everybody. I am
- 11:45Speaker 1: personally of the opinion that if someone is actually holding
- 11:50Speaker 1: your literal heart in their hand, you maybe just want
- 11:53Speaker 1: to back.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Off and you lost.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I think you've lost at that point ahead of time.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. I don't like to break this news
- 12:01Speaker 1: to you, Law, but that's how it is. But yeah,
- 12:04Speaker 1: Law basically squeezes it, not not even just to like
- 12:08Speaker 1: do anything, just to shut Law up. He says to
- 12:12Speaker 1: sit there and be quiet until I'm ready to deal
- 12:15Speaker 1: with you. So Smoker then starts talking to is it oh, yeah,
- 12:22Speaker 1: to Vigo, and I kind of enjoyed the tack he
- 12:26Speaker 1: takes here because instead of trying to be like, I
- 12:30Speaker 1: can't believe that you're doing this, like all of the
- 12:34Speaker 1: sort of appeals to his actual morality. Whether that exists
- 12:41Speaker 1: or not. What he appeals to is how saddened all
- 12:46Speaker 1: of the soldiers are going to be when they find
- 12:49Speaker 1: out that Vigo is a traitor, which, like I know,
- 12:55Speaker 1: Vigo doesn't give a shit about, because Vigo thinks, as
- 12:59Speaker 1: we have heard him say that basically all of the
- 13:02Speaker 1: Marines are like brainless meat heads who don't know what
- 13:07Speaker 1: the fuck is going on most of the time and
- 13:09Speaker 1: are too stupid to live. But like, coming at it
- 13:14Speaker 1: from that standpoint, when you're looking at it through Smoker's eyes,
- 13:18Speaker 1: kind of makes sense because.
- 13:20Speaker 3: He is.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Like assuming that there is still some affection for this
- 13:29Speaker 1: his subordinates in Vigo's.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Heart, and I think that's kind of like, kind of
- 13:36Speaker 2: adorable in my opinion.
- 13:40Speaker 1: That kind of just shows us who Smoker is, because
- 13:43Speaker 1: he values the respect of his own men enough that
- 13:46Speaker 1: this might I think that we tend to use arguments
- 13:51Speaker 1: on other people that would work on us, Right, you
- 13:55Speaker 1: approach things in a way that sounds convincing to you,
- 14:00Speaker 1: of course, so this feels to me like Smoker kind
- 14:07Speaker 1: of sharing something about himself inadvertently. So also, well, I'm
- 14:16Speaker 1: getting ahead of myself. But yeah, so he says, if
- 14:19Speaker 1: they especially if they learn you're one of jokers dogs,
- 14:22Speaker 1: they are going to be really upset, and of course
- 14:26Speaker 1: Vigo has to be like, well, they already know they
- 14:30Speaker 1: found out moments ago. This is when Smoker attacks Virgo
- 14:37Speaker 1: and Vigo defends with this bamboo cane. Now, there has
- 14:42Speaker 1: been nobody in the chats on these these crowdcasts as
- 14:47Speaker 1: of late. I think that Florian has been kind of
- 14:50Speaker 1: in and out. So I am super apologetic if this
- 14:55Speaker 1: turns out to be something that you guys have indeed
- 14:58Speaker 1: brought up or that happened in previous episodes that I
- 15:01Speaker 1: missed somehow, But I don't know how I missed it.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I had been saying, what's the deal with calling him
- 15:11Speaker 1: like Bamboo? Like demon Bamboo?
- 15:15Speaker 2: I think, and.
- 15:18Speaker 1: I feel like this might be the first time that
- 15:20Speaker 1: we see this weapon from him, because, like, if I'm
- 15:23Speaker 1: not mistaken, he really doesn't have to fight well no,
- 15:28Speaker 1: because he he uses his like finger pistols mostly with
- 15:34Speaker 1: the Marines. I'm trying to remember if he uses this
- 15:36Speaker 1: with them. I'm pretty sure he doesn't use it on
- 15:38Speaker 1: Law because there's no need because he has Law's heart.
- 15:41Speaker 1: So what's the point of actually getting into a fight here?
- 15:45Speaker 2: Right, like, I think that's it.
- 15:49Speaker 1: So anyway, he says to Smoker, I'm sorry it had
- 15:54Speaker 1: to end this way, but now that you know my secret,
- 15:56Speaker 1: I must kill you. He says this, and and then
- 16:00Speaker 1: he sort of like jutters forward in this really bizarre
- 16:06Speaker 1: and I don't know if that is supposed to be
- 16:08Speaker 1: uh shave that movement, if it's supposed to be his
- 16:13Speaker 1: use of hockey, or if shave is a hockey movement perhaps,
- 16:18Speaker 1: But all of a sudden, he is directly in front
- 16:21Speaker 1: of Smoker, and Smoker doesn't seem ready for this at all,
- 16:25Speaker 1: but he blows through his bamboo and it seems to
- 16:29Speaker 1: create like a sort of bazooka that shoots fire.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I really thought a Smoker was out of it already.
- 16:34Speaker 2: I thought he was done.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Not so bitches in the air behind this man and
- 16:39Speaker 1: he does a sort of like matrix style backbend here.
- 16:44Speaker 1: And the fight actually between the two of them is
- 16:46Speaker 1: pretty fun because we're dealing with this like hulking brute
- 16:51Speaker 1: type versus a logia type, and the brute has hockey,
- 16:56Speaker 1: so we've got a couple of different approaches. He and
- 17:01Speaker 1: I was very surprised at the fact that Smoker is
- 17:04Speaker 1: able to knock him down at all. I just you know,
- 17:09Speaker 1: he stands up and he's got some blood pouring down
- 17:11Speaker 1: his head, and he touches it in a way that
- 17:13Speaker 1: seems to like indicate to me he didn't expect to bleed.
- 17:17Speaker 1: He really just didn't think that this was going to
- 17:21Speaker 1: you know, that he was going to get got at all.
- 17:24Speaker 1: And good for you, smoker, on drawing some blood on
- 17:27Speaker 1: the sky. Whether or not you're actually able to beat
- 17:29Speaker 1: him as a whole other question. But as of right now,
- 17:32Speaker 1: I'm feeling kind of impressed with you, sir, because I
- 17:35Speaker 1: really thought that that fucking shave plus what do you
- 17:40Speaker 1: call it? I keep using the word bazuka, but like
- 17:43Speaker 1: that's the best I can come up with. Is that
- 17:46Speaker 1: was a pretty fierce tech in my opinion.
- 17:49Speaker 2: So we go back to.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Sanji, who's with a bunch of the Marines and with Tashigi,
- 17:55Speaker 1: and they all begin to collect the and run.
- 18:01Speaker 2: They got to get out of here.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Of course, Sanji, with his hard eyes, we've got to
- 18:04Speaker 1: protect to Shigi, the lovely lady, the fact that she
- 18:09Speaker 1: is yelling at her men not to agree with Sanji
- 18:13Speaker 1: because he is our enemy, because he's a filthy pirate.
- 18:17Speaker 1: T Shigi, babe, this man has saved your ass.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Okay.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Granted, Vigo took off, so it's not like Sonji actually
- 18:33Speaker 1: beat him, but he distracted the guy enough that he
- 18:39Speaker 1: wasn't continuing to attack your men, and then he got
- 18:44Speaker 1: distracted even more and took off. I would call this
- 18:50Speaker 1: a win, and I would be quite grateful if I
- 18:55Speaker 1: were you to Sangi. So the fact that she is
- 18:58Speaker 1: still holding on to this like, well, you know you
- 19:02Speaker 1: are a pirate, therefore you are our enemy and evil girl.
- 19:07Speaker 1: This is played out. Get with a program, sweetie, this
- 19:11Speaker 1: is like it. You are very, You're very two thousand
- 19:16Speaker 1: and late. I know that that is the silliest thing,
- 19:20Speaker 1: but I'm going to say it because I think she's
- 19:23Speaker 1: acting as silly and she deserves it.
- 19:24Speaker 2: That's that's all there is to it.
- 19:28Speaker 1: And all of the men are like hyping up Sanji.
- 19:35Speaker 1: It's such a weird moment. I don't know what we're
- 19:37Speaker 1: doing here. I feel like it's meant to be sort
- 19:40Speaker 1: of reminiscent of the cross dressers on the island that
- 19:46Speaker 1: Sanji had been on. But the Marines are yelling at
- 19:50Speaker 1: Sanji like gotta admit you looked so cool fighting Virgo.
- 19:55Speaker 1: It made my heart skip a beat. That was pretty sexy.
- 19:58Speaker 1: If you asked me.
- 20:00Speaker 2: And what like, what do you?
- 20:03Speaker 1: What do you? Why are we saying it like this?
- 20:06Speaker 1: This is not the way these characters would ever compliment
- 20:09Speaker 1: him if this were set up in a different way.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I have to assume this is all meant to just
- 20:15Speaker 1: kind of make Sanjy in particular uncomfortable, which is just like,
- 20:21Speaker 1: it's just problematic, you know, I just really don't like it.
- 20:27Speaker 1: So at this point, like the fire that's happened causes
- 20:31Speaker 1: an explosion. There's a hole in the wall now, and
- 20:35Speaker 1: so this this uh fog gas is coming through and
- 20:43Speaker 1: they have to really begin to pick up the pace. Unfortunately,
- 20:48Speaker 1: not all of our guys are getting out of here
- 20:50Speaker 1: because the gas is moving really really quickly. I felt
- 20:54Speaker 1: bad because these dudes really thought that they were out.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Of harm's way.
- 20:58Speaker 1: And I maintain they will be fine, will absolutely be
- 21:03Speaker 1: able to like make them human again. This thing will
- 21:07Speaker 1: be something it's possible to reverse. But this, uh, the
- 21:13Speaker 1: expression on their faces when they realize that they're still
- 21:16Speaker 1: not out of the woods yet. After all of this,
- 21:17Speaker 1: I was like, Oh, these poor dudes. So he turns
- 21:21Speaker 1: around and he's gonna like help deal with the guys
- 21:24Speaker 1: who are kind of falling behind, and he sends Tashigi
- 21:29Speaker 1: on ahead. We then go to Caesar and he's like,
- 21:35Speaker 1: oh sweet, these idiots fucked things up so bad that
- 21:39Speaker 1: they brought Land of the Dead into the building for me,
- 21:42Speaker 1: and I didn't even have to fucking do anything.
- 21:45Speaker 2: So he says, close the.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Gate C and D and keep R open. I can't
- 21:52Speaker 1: have them getting lost, so we'll lure them to the
- 21:55Speaker 1: building's first floor. They're looking for gate R sixty six,
- 21:59Speaker 1: and the lay out of this lab is confusing. There's
- 22:03Speaker 1: something about the way he says that that's funny.
- 22:07Speaker 2: We'll just have to guide them.
- 22:08Speaker 1: There and let me jump from there over to Loofy
- 22:14Speaker 1: and he is in the sea building and this is
- 22:17Speaker 1: when he meets the dragon. It's such a weird encounter. Reminder,
- 22:24Speaker 1: the way that this happened is that the last time
- 22:27Speaker 1: he was on screen, he was fighting Monet. He punches
- 22:31Speaker 1: through the floor to get away from her, and because
- 22:35Speaker 1: she keeps making these like igloos basically above his head
- 22:38Speaker 1: that he has to punch up through, and because he
- 22:42Speaker 1: goes downward she basically is like, oh, all right, well
- 22:47Speaker 1: he killed himself for me, I don't have to worry
- 22:50Speaker 1: about it anymore. I'm going to take off and go
- 22:53Speaker 1: deal with some bigger fish that I have to fry,
- 22:58Speaker 1: and we it like. I can't emphasize enough what a
- 23:05Speaker 1: silly thing that is to do. Anyway, You guys know,
- 23:11Speaker 1: the principle of walking away from an enemy who isn't
- 23:14Speaker 1: actually dead and assuming they're dead is always silly. But
- 23:19Speaker 1: in this particular case, she knows how resourceful and impressive
- 23:24Speaker 1: these people are. She has seen the way the straw
- 23:28Speaker 1: hats work, and she is still not taking this seriously
- 23:33Speaker 1: enough at all.
- 23:34Speaker 2: And you know, you get what you get.
- 23:37Speaker 1: You dumb bitch, because this is just lazy. She basically
- 23:41Speaker 1: feels like, to me, it was like, h he went
- 23:43Speaker 1: all the way downstairs and not like just like downstairs
- 23:47Speaker 1: one he went like six flights down.
- 23:51Speaker 2: What a pain. I just don't want to do it,
- 23:53Speaker 2: so I'm not gonna do it.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Ah annoying, like you know that's the vibe for me,
- 23:59Speaker 1: and I just girl, you literally have wings, like you
- 24:04Speaker 1: could just fly down there.
- 24:05Speaker 2: What is the matter with you? It's weak? It's weak,
- 24:08Speaker 2: sauce I am not impressed. So this is.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Where he runs into this weird little dragon that turns
- 24:18Speaker 1: out to be the samuraiz Sun. And I'm just gonna
- 24:23Speaker 1: be honest, you guys, I don't know. I think what
- 24:26Speaker 1: they're trying to do here is just basically have the
- 24:30Speaker 1: son have the same overly formal, self serious personality as
- 24:36Speaker 1: his father. And I understand that, but I think that
- 24:43Speaker 1: this is the kind of performance that maybe works better
- 24:49Speaker 1: in the sub when you have like the real understanding
- 24:55Speaker 1: of the sort of energy they're meant to project, because
- 24:58Speaker 1: I don't feel like the is quite getting it, and
- 25:03Speaker 1: it makes this kid, I think he is meant to
- 25:06Speaker 1: be seen as a.
- 25:08Speaker 2: As a weirdo.
- 25:09Speaker 1: You know, he's got the same issue where he like
- 25:11Speaker 1: denies things for no reason the same way his dad does,
- 25:14Speaker 1: just to like save face and to save face in
- 25:17Speaker 1: a way that nobody cares. Actually, you know this, this
- 25:23Speaker 1: saving face is not materially changing anybody's opinion of you.
- 25:28Speaker 1: In fact, everybody can see right through it. So you
- 25:31Speaker 1: keep insisting on like a lah, I'm not upset, and
- 25:35Speaker 1: it's just like who cares? But the way that the
- 25:40Speaker 1: samurai behaves, he tends to be much more like he well,
- 25:48Speaker 1: you know what, I was gonna say something, but I'm
- 25:50Speaker 1: realizing as I say it that that's not exactly true.
- 25:53Speaker 1: I was going to say that his son seems a
- 25:55Speaker 1: lot more off putting to other people, but then I
- 26:00Speaker 1: had to step back and remember that the samurai was
- 26:02Speaker 1: like really rude to the straw hats, to the point
- 26:04Speaker 1: that later on, Soanji feels the need to point it
- 26:08Speaker 1: out to him and be like, do you remember being
- 26:10Speaker 1: a massive asshole to us? Because I fucking proper farm remembers.
- 26:16Speaker 1: So yeah, maybe he is imitating his father more closely
- 26:21Speaker 1: than I was sort of thinking he is. But overall,
- 26:25Speaker 1: I just found this kid to be so off putting
- 26:31Speaker 1: in so many different little weird ways. That and also
- 26:39Speaker 1: the fact that this is so incredibly petty. I realize that.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Forgive me, but they made this dragon like very close
- 26:51Speaker 1: to flesh tone, and that makes him less cute by
- 26:58Speaker 1: like a large margin for me. If he had also
- 27:03Speaker 1: changed colors significantly and been green, blue, purple, anything, that
- 27:10Speaker 1: would have been something. But this dragon really looks too
- 27:15Speaker 1: close to an earthworm for comfort, and I don't like it.
- 27:22Speaker 1: So let me have this very interesting thing where the
- 27:30Speaker 1: men who are working underneath Caesar. Caesar's telling all of
- 27:34Speaker 1: his men like, I've got Joker on my time and
- 27:37Speaker 1: now on my side. Now I have the opportunity to
- 27:40Speaker 1: kill all of these people in the ideal manner. And
- 27:43Speaker 1: these dudes say, Master, were waiting orders, ready for combat.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Why have you summoned us here to the command room?
- 27:51Speaker 1: This is Vega Punk's room. Wasn't he responsible for what
- 27:54Speaker 1: happened years ago? We've got a score to settle with
- 27:57Speaker 1: him too, And this dude is just like, we're sitting
- 28:02Speaker 1: on our asses. We should be fighting. And we get
- 28:07Speaker 1: a great bit where Caesar turns around and says, you, gentlemen,
- 28:11Speaker 1: are my backup plan. You're the best soldiers I have,
- 28:15Speaker 1: so I cannot risk losing you. Guys. I am so
- 28:22Speaker 1: delighted by how often Caesar is shown to actually be
- 28:28Speaker 1: good at the actual tricking people part. You know that
- 28:34Speaker 1: I have no issue with our goofy villains like Buggy
- 28:40Speaker 1: the clown who always accidentally says the wrong thing right
- 28:44Speaker 1: in front of his men, and they are apparently too
- 28:47Speaker 1: dentse to really like pick up on it.
- 28:50Speaker 2: But you can only do that so much.
- 28:53Speaker 1: And between this and a later the later bit where
- 28:58Speaker 1: we see the way that he brought the children in
- 29:01Speaker 1: and pretended that he lost his own child to this
- 29:06Speaker 1: alleged disease that they all have. I just really understood
- 29:13Speaker 1: why these children believed him and took his word for it. Now, granted,
- 29:20Speaker 1: this is all setting aside the fact that Caesar looks
- 29:22Speaker 1: like a fucking maniac, but this is one piece world,
- 29:27Speaker 1: and everybody looks like a fucking maniac. Like, It's just
- 29:32Speaker 1: it's barely even worth remarking on after a certain point.
- 29:36Speaker 1: So I'm not mad at these kids for just setting
- 29:38Speaker 1: aside his appearance, because you've got a lot of real
- 29:42Speaker 1: weirdos in this universe that are fluttering around, So I
- 29:47Speaker 1: am I'm not blaming these kids for that one little bit.
- 29:52Speaker 1: And yeah, with for me, it's just like often kind
- 29:56Speaker 1: of the sticking point when somebody has apparently like tricked
- 29:59Speaker 1: a bunch of folks into believing something, I just will
- 30:03Speaker 1: be like, how did you ever buy that story coming
- 30:07Speaker 1: out of that man's mouth? And here I definitely get it.
- 30:15Speaker 1: I well, I say get it might be too strong.
- 30:19Speaker 3: But.
- 30:21Speaker 1: It's much much more understandable and believable. And that's really
- 30:26Speaker 1: all I have ever asked so he says, now, allow
- 30:32Speaker 1: me to explain my plan to all of you. Once
- 30:34Speaker 1: the gates to C and D have been closed, the
- 30:38Speaker 1: only open routes through the laboratory will lead to the
- 30:41Speaker 1: first floor of building R, which is directly beneath us.
- 30:46Speaker 1: The straw hats g five the children. It doesn't matter
- 30:51Speaker 1: whether they're friend or foe. All the survivors will be
- 30:54Speaker 1: forced into that room. The first floor has external events
- 30:58Speaker 1: which can bring in out side air. In other words,
- 31:02Speaker 1: we'll be able to fill the room with land of
- 31:04Speaker 1: the dead, and there will be no way for them
- 31:06Speaker 1: to escape. All of them will be caught in a
- 31:11Speaker 1: giant gas chamber and they will all die, and we'll
- 31:15Speaker 1: be broadcasting it to my shadow brokers who can witness
- 31:20Speaker 1: the slaughter. Then they'll respect me, they'll know my greatness.
- 31:25Speaker 1: And he says all of this and doesn't notice until
- 31:29Speaker 1: a moment passes that his men are staring at him,
- 31:33Speaker 1: open mouthed and sweating and looking really unhappy. And one
- 31:38Speaker 1: of them is like, Caesar, I need to ask this.
- 31:41Speaker 1: I don't want to put you on the spot, but like,
- 31:44Speaker 1: did you create that poison gas? And he says, yes,
- 31:49Speaker 1: I did, And they look at each other, and another
- 31:52Speaker 1: one speaks up and is like, okay, well, so that
- 31:57Speaker 1: seems a lot like Vega Punk's gas, the one from
- 32:01Speaker 1: that accident four years ago. And the thing is master
- 32:06Speaker 1: it freaks us out and sees it just truly like wait,
- 32:12Speaker 1: what what do you mean? And he gets this expression
- 32:14Speaker 1: on his face that is hilarious to me. He just
- 32:20Speaker 1: looks like it's not even like he's definitely angry, but
- 32:24Speaker 1: it's more disgruntled, you know. It's like the sort of
- 32:30Speaker 1: energy of like, you guys just don't appreciate what I'm doing,
- 32:33Speaker 1: you know. And uh, he begins like this whimpering, and
- 32:41Speaker 1: he says, damn it, just allow me to explain everything, please,
- 32:49Speaker 1: and he's got fucking tears in his eyes. That day
- 32:53Speaker 1: still haunts me. How I tried to stop the mad sighs. No,
- 33:02Speaker 1: what if this dangerous weapon exploded?
- 33:05Speaker 2: I said, just think of.
- 33:07Speaker 1: All the innocent people who would be killed.
- 33:11Speaker 3: Please, Vga Punk to Jesus, tears pouring down his face,
- 33:19Speaker 3: you guys, But there was no stopping him.
- 33:23Speaker 1: And now he's the head of the Navy Science Division
- 33:26Speaker 1: and widely considered the world's greatest scientist.
- 33:30Speaker 2: It's not fair. It should have been me. I cannot
- 33:35Speaker 2: accept it.
- 33:36Speaker 1: How could someone so heartless come to be praised Does
- 33:40Speaker 1: the best of all after what he's done, does he
- 33:43Speaker 1: still deserve to be called the greatest? I mean, it
- 33:52Speaker 1: is so amazing for this man in this gas cloak,
- 33:57Speaker 1: with his maniac smile and the words gas gas on
- 34:01Speaker 1: his front to be talking about how some other guy
- 34:04Speaker 1: was a parable mad scientist, truly wild shit, and they
- 34:10Speaker 1: buy it, They fucking believe it.
- 34:13Speaker 2: And this is this is.
- 34:14Speaker 1: One of those sort of phenomenons that happens with people
- 34:19Speaker 1: where we decide that we want to like somebody and
- 34:22Speaker 1: so we will kind of let them tell us whatever.
- 34:26Speaker 1: And I'm not trying to be mean, because I do
- 34:29Speaker 1: this too. This does not mean like indicting other people
- 34:33Speaker 1: and acting like I'm so much smarter, excuse me, so
- 34:37Speaker 1: much smarter than you all. I don't get tricked by
- 34:40Speaker 1: this kind of oki doo.
- 34:42Speaker 2: I do.
- 34:44Speaker 1: I do, and I know that, and it's I'm not
- 34:48Speaker 1: proud of that. But it is a fact that you
- 34:53Speaker 1: can be predisposed to, like trust somebody's word, so that
- 34:57Speaker 1: even as what they tell you begins to really transcend
- 35:01Speaker 1: past believability, you have almost gotten to a point where
- 35:07Speaker 1: you've invested so much in believing in them in the
- 35:10Speaker 1: past that now it sort of seems like, well, I
- 35:14Speaker 1: can't stop now.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Do you know what I'm saying?
- 35:20Speaker 1: I don't know, And maybe that is something that like
- 35:25Speaker 1: I won't say, maybe that's something that only I do
- 35:27Speaker 1: because I don't believe that for a second. But I'm
- 35:31Speaker 1: not sure how many of you have really kind of
- 35:34Speaker 1: caught yourself in those sort of situations.
- 35:37Speaker 2: The way that.
- 35:37Speaker 1: This tends to happen usually is when you are in
- 35:41Speaker 1: a romantic relationship, especially if somebody is being dishonest with
- 35:46Speaker 1: you and you have your suspicions about it, but you
- 35:48Speaker 1: are so entrenched in some other way in that relationship
- 35:53Speaker 1: that you don't feel there's a reasonable way out, and
- 35:58Speaker 1: or if there is, it's something that's really high effort,
- 36:01Speaker 1: and you know, deciding to push that button is going
- 36:05Speaker 1: to be a major source of chaos in your life.
- 36:09Speaker 1: And unfortunately, but understandably, we want to trust the people
- 36:17Speaker 1: that we have already invested time and energy in. This
- 36:21Speaker 1: is what's called the sunk cost fallacy, and it's often
- 36:25Speaker 1: talked about in this sort of like tone of voice
- 36:28Speaker 1: of like, oh yeah, that as if people who fall
- 36:33Speaker 1: prey to that are fools.
- 36:37Speaker 2: But it's just like the way our minds work.
- 36:42Speaker 1: It's not a flaw to want to believe in the
- 36:47Speaker 1: people that you have chosen to trust and build a
- 36:51Speaker 1: life with. And I don't blame people for that at all.
- 36:56Speaker 1: I just feel sad because some are just really good
- 37:01Speaker 1: at exploiting that. And anyway, I'm sorry, I just went
- 37:04Speaker 1: off onto like way too serious event here, but anyway,
- 37:08Speaker 1: that's what I feel is happening, is that these guys
- 37:11Speaker 1: are in this place now where they have just invested
- 37:14Speaker 1: too fucking much and this man has helped them. And
- 37:18Speaker 1: I'm putting that very much in quotes they think he
- 37:20Speaker 1: has helped. I don't really believe it, not the way
- 37:23Speaker 1: they like, how much is it helping to give you
- 37:26Speaker 1: a new set of legs and like assist with rebuilding
- 37:29Speaker 1: your body if you are just going to be used
- 37:32Speaker 1: for like cannon fodder and medical experimentation later, I don't
- 37:37Speaker 1: consider that a favor. But clearly these dudes are in
- 37:41Speaker 1: a different headspace. So yeah, these guys are all just like, yeah, yeah,
- 37:50Speaker 1: you're gonna bring peace and unity and they begin like
- 37:53Speaker 1: chanting to the Master and then we get the actual
- 37:58Speaker 1: flashback where there is some marine who is yelling at
- 38:03Speaker 1: Caesar to stop it. As Caesar is combining these chemicals
- 38:07Speaker 1: and this like purple gas. That is clearly the beginnings
- 38:11Speaker 1: of what is it that he keeps calling it? Oh
- 38:18Speaker 1: my god, I forgot already, but Smiley. Basically he says,
- 38:23Speaker 1: the Navy wants to kill as many pirates as they
- 38:25Speaker 1: possibly can. I'm simply creating a new weapon for them
- 38:27Speaker 1: designed to do just that. And this guy is like, uh,
- 38:31Speaker 1: it will kill pirates, but it'll also kill a bunch
- 38:34Speaker 1: of civilians. That's called collateral damage. If people don't evacuate,
- 38:41Speaker 1: they deserve what's coming. Man, you guys. If this isn't
- 38:47Speaker 1: in other countries, I'm not really sure how much of
- 38:50Speaker 1: a thing this is, because I don't know what the
- 38:53Speaker 1: MO is for dealing with this sort of situation abroad.
- 38:57Speaker 1: But in the United States, this is very much an
- 39:02Speaker 1: attitude that you can come across with some people when
- 39:06Speaker 1: we are dealing with stuff like tornadoes or hurricanes in
- 39:13Speaker 1: our country, there is just this sort of attitude that like, well,
- 39:17Speaker 1: they were given fair warning.
- 39:19Speaker 2: We know when one of those.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Is headed in our direction. So if people choose to
- 39:24Speaker 1: stay and risk their lives. That's their choice, and they're
- 39:30Speaker 1: given all kinds of like you know, word ahead.
- 39:35Speaker 2: To get out.
- 39:36Speaker 1: If they wind up dead or their home destroyed or something,
- 39:41Speaker 1: what do they expect. And obviously that's not exactly the
- 39:46Speaker 1: same scenario as what we've got going on here, but
- 39:50Speaker 1: it is one of those things that I definitely also
- 39:55Speaker 1: used to say before I really understood the reality of
- 39:59Speaker 1: the way many people in our country live. If you
- 40:02Speaker 1: are a paycheck to paycheck human being, as at this
- 40:05Speaker 1: point most of us are, you don't have the extra
- 40:09Speaker 1: income to like buy a plane ticket out. You may
- 40:13Speaker 1: not own a car, so you can't drive away, and
- 40:16Speaker 1: you're gonna take a bus along with how many other
- 40:19Speaker 1: people do you think that they're all going to be
- 40:21Speaker 1: running normally, that things are going to be available the
- 40:24Speaker 1: way that they usually are, probably.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Not and not like all that.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Then to go where if you don't have family that
- 40:32Speaker 1: you can go and stay with, well, fuck.
- 40:34Speaker 2: You, I guess.
- 40:35Speaker 1: And if you have like no money for a hotel,
- 40:41Speaker 1: where are you meant to go? What are you supposed
- 40:44Speaker 1: to do? And you know a lot of the people
- 40:48Speaker 1: who who can so blithely say, well, what did they expect.
- 40:54Speaker 1: They just don't think about folks who have like no income,
- 41:01Speaker 1: no vehicle, no family support network. Even if you do
- 41:05Speaker 1: have family, if there is this major disaster coming your way,
- 41:09Speaker 1: it's possible they're putting up six cousins of yours already
- 41:13Speaker 1: you can't fit too, you know, like how much is
- 41:17Speaker 1: are they meant to put up with? And so this
- 41:21Speaker 1: is the kind of thing that he just reminded me
- 41:25Speaker 1: of with what he was saying. Even though I know
- 41:28Speaker 1: that's not exactly what we're dealing with here, and even
- 41:33Speaker 1: though he is a super villain and this is meant
- 41:36Speaker 1: to be like a very extreme case, I still couldn't
- 41:39Speaker 1: help but be like, that's not that far off from
- 41:42Speaker 1: the way a lot of folks talk. Honestly, in the
- 41:45Speaker 1: Year of Our Lord twenty twenty four, more and more
- 41:48Speaker 1: of the normal talking points of Americans sounds like super
- 41:54Speaker 1: villain shit. It really, it's that close. You know, it's
- 42:00Speaker 1: really a shame. So anyway, this dude, you know, as
- 42:07Speaker 1: is his want decides, well, you think I'm cruel, but
- 42:12Speaker 1: so are you. You're using the You're using the prisoners
- 42:15Speaker 1: as their guinea pig as your guinea pigs.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm sorry.
- 42:20Speaker 1: A fleet admirals and Goku may be soft, but Admiral Akayenu,
- 42:24Speaker 1: on the other hand, I bet he would love one
- 42:27Speaker 1: of my weapons. Now, scram I don't need you interrupting
- 42:31Speaker 1: my work.
- 42:31Speaker 2: Vega.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Punk's just jealous, and I can't blame him. I am
- 42:36Speaker 1: a genius. Besides, his silly human enlargement experiment is nothing
- 42:42Speaker 1: but a failure. You'd need to be a real magician
- 42:44Speaker 1: to make the human body grow that much in such
- 42:46Speaker 1: a short time. I tried to tell him what to do.
- 42:50Speaker 1: What he needs is children, those who are growing, and
- 42:54Speaker 1: fill them with drugs.
- 42:55Speaker 2: That's the only way.
- 42:57Speaker 1: So there we get our info on what is being
- 43:00Speaker 1: done to the children. I mean, we already knew that
- 43:04Speaker 1: some shit was up, but still so uh yeah, he
- 43:10Speaker 1: starts with his like adding the chemicals together, and somebody
- 43:15Speaker 1: is like trying to pull him out. He's in one
- 43:18Speaker 1: of those I don't know what you are called, but
- 43:21Speaker 1: one of those tanks that has the holes with the
- 43:23Speaker 1: gloves that you can stick your hands in and manipulate
- 43:28Speaker 1: something that is still completely sealed away from the air
- 43:32Speaker 1: that you're breathing. So yeah, he gets yanked away and
- 43:38Speaker 1: Vega Punk is there telling him, I can't cover for
- 43:41Speaker 1: you anymore. Man, You've gone too fucking far. You've been
- 43:44Speaker 1: pulled from the science division. And he fucking yanks open
- 43:50Speaker 1: this like spot with this red button and smashes his hand.
- 43:54Speaker 1: He being Caesar, so he is the one who releases
- 43:58Speaker 1: this gas on purpose. It turns out it wasn't even
- 44:01Speaker 1: like accidental. It wasn't even because, like I had, I
- 44:06Speaker 1: knew Caesar would be behind the gas, but I assumed
- 44:10Speaker 1: it was going to be that he took it too
- 44:13Speaker 1: far from his own ambition and that there was a
- 44:18Speaker 1: terrible accident, and he decided to sort of retroactively use
- 44:23Speaker 1: this to his advantage as best he could. But the
- 44:26Speaker 1: idea that he purposely released the gas in that moment
- 44:29Speaker 1: just because he was pissed at getting fired is hilarious
- 44:33Speaker 1: and idiotic. I sir, you are a disaster, all right.
- 44:41Speaker 1: So let's I'm trying. I'm just realizing now, Oh my god,
- 44:45Speaker 1: you guys, I have so much left to talk. Well,
- 44:49Speaker 1: I talked about a fair amount already. The Dragon, uh Mamonosuke,
- 44:57Speaker 1: I think is the way that you say I'm sorry,
- 44:59Speaker 1: but I'm gonna call him the dragon because I don't.
- 45:01Speaker 1: I'm not confident in pronouncing that right, and I also
- 45:03Speaker 1: don't think I'm going to be able to remember it
- 45:05Speaker 1: unless he is around a lot longer, which he may be,
- 45:08Speaker 1: But as of right now, I'm just gonna call him
- 45:10Speaker 1: like the little Dragon or Samurai's son. But yeah, I
- 45:15Speaker 1: really feel like his whole appearance is very it's too
- 45:19Speaker 1: earthworm like.
- 45:20Speaker 2: I don't.
- 45:21Speaker 1: I don't like it, and his personality is lacking. It's
- 45:27Speaker 1: just all of his situation. I want to care more
- 45:33Speaker 1: about him than I do. And if I hadn't met
- 45:35Speaker 1: his father first, I don't know how much I would
- 45:39Speaker 1: give a shit, to be honest. But apparently he had
- 45:43Speaker 1: been like a stowaway and he gets brought here and
- 45:47Speaker 1: he tries to distance himself from the other children, but
- 45:51Speaker 1: they were so kind and quite insistent, and so we
- 45:54Speaker 1: get to see the way that he was like just
- 45:56Speaker 1: straight up rude to them, and how they were all
- 46:02Speaker 1: told that they were sick. And Caesar pretends to have
- 46:06Speaker 1: lost his own son, YadA, YadA, and eventually, uh, like
- 46:13Speaker 1: you know, he wanders off and he goes into this
- 46:16Speaker 1: room and he finds a devil fruit and eats it.
- 46:20Speaker 1: I had been so certain y'all that this was a
- 46:27Speaker 1: result of a like experiment of some kind that turned
- 46:32Speaker 1: him purposely into a dragon, But that is not it
- 46:37Speaker 1: at all. So it turns out like he's really hungry,
- 46:41Speaker 1: but he doesn't want to eat what they're being given,
- 46:43Speaker 1: so that's part of He sees this fruit and he
- 46:46Speaker 1: breaks the tank that it's being kept in and goes
- 46:49Speaker 1: and eats it. And he is just like as.
- 46:51Speaker 2: Stubborn as his dad, so.
- 46:54Speaker 1: He was unwilling to participate in a lot of the
- 46:56Speaker 1: shit the other kids were. So this is the one
- 47:01Speaker 1: where the little girl like spots him and is like, hey,
- 47:04Speaker 1: you do you remember me. He finishes eating this fruit
- 47:08Speaker 1: and he turns around and they have a little bit
- 47:12Speaker 1: of a chat where he's saying like, I'm gonna escape
- 47:14Speaker 1: this place, and.
- 47:19Speaker 2: She says, come back.
- 47:20Speaker 1: They have something to eat, and I'm sure if you
- 47:22Speaker 1: go you'll feel much better in no time. And then
- 47:26Speaker 1: a couple of guards pass by, clearly sort of looking
- 47:29Speaker 1: for the two of them, and she's like, come on
- 47:32Speaker 1: quick before they find us, and she grabs him by
- 47:35Speaker 1: the hand. And the way that this all is done
- 47:37Speaker 1: is that he is in like shadow in this way
- 47:41Speaker 1: that I'm not totally sure what I'm supposed to make
- 47:43Speaker 1: of it. But he collapses and is like, she's saying,
- 47:51Speaker 1: come on, dude, they're coming in. They're gonna catch you here,
- 47:53Speaker 1: let's go. And he's like, don't waste your time on me.
- 47:56Speaker 1: I'm gonna be fine. And this is when the devil
- 47:59Speaker 1: fruit begins to do it to work on him. There's
- 48:01Speaker 1: this like yellow light that springs up around him, and
- 48:04Speaker 1: then he turns into a dragon, and evidently, bless him,
- 48:09Speaker 1: doesn't realize that it's probably within his power to change
- 48:12Speaker 1: back into a person. So when Lufy says, like, you
- 48:16Speaker 1: could just use your power to turn back, he's like, wait,
- 48:19Speaker 1: what can you show me how to do that? And
- 48:22Speaker 1: Lufy is like, I don't. I don't have his own powers.
- 48:25Speaker 1: I'm sorry, So no, I'm not. I can't teach you that.
- 48:30Speaker 1: I'm sorry about it.
- 48:33Speaker 2: And then he.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Mentions how he stumbled across Caesar talking about how the
- 48:38Speaker 1: children aren't weren't going to do anything useful with their lives,
- 48:42Speaker 1: that they're foolish idiots, and that he's making some use
- 48:46Speaker 1: of them with his experiments, and so he's doing a
- 48:50Speaker 1: favor for the world. The kids are nobly sacrificing their
- 48:53Speaker 1: lives for the greater good, even if it's mandatory, and
- 48:56Speaker 1: they don't realize that's what they're doing, you know, all
- 48:59Speaker 1: of the stuff where it's just him demonstrating his contempt
- 49:06Speaker 1: for his test subjects. And when we come back, I'm sorry,
- 49:15Speaker 1: I'm trying to find the spot here. So he begins
- 49:18Speaker 1: to sort of freak out, and I'm not really sure
- 49:21Speaker 1: what happens here. Loofy says that he's going to help him,
- 49:27Speaker 1: and he the dragon collapses. Lufy's calling him Momo, so
- 49:33Speaker 1: maybe I'll just do that. It's weird because I associate
- 49:36Speaker 1: that name with the like Leamur guy from AVATARO Last
- 49:38Speaker 1: Air Vendor. But nevertheless, he collapses and then he's like
- 49:42Speaker 1: comes awake again, and he begins to glow and this
- 49:47Speaker 1: sort of smoke appears around him that he can walk on.
- 49:51Speaker 1: So it's not he doesn't exactly fly, you know, like
- 49:56Speaker 1: it's just a walking on the clouds, but it is
- 50:01Speaker 1: the equivalent of flying, really, And I am not sure.
- 50:06Speaker 2: If this was like a result of his.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Did he eat some of that drug and is he
- 50:13Speaker 1: going through withdrawals? I feel like the whole thing was
- 50:16Speaker 1: that he refused to eat anything. Is it possible that
- 50:19Speaker 1: he's just supposed to be having an over the top
- 50:21Speaker 1: reaction to Lufy being like honorable and generous or what
- 50:28Speaker 1: Brooke is in his spirit form, he is helping to
- 50:33Speaker 1: look for this little boy. And it is so funny
- 50:36Speaker 1: this voice actor. Every time, you guys, he is so good.
- 50:40Speaker 1: He's like in the urinals and stuff, just saying little
- 50:42Speaker 1: samurai boy. So we go back to Smoker here, still
- 50:48Speaker 1: in the midst of this fucking fight with a Virago.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Law is not moving a muscle, just watching this, and
- 50:58Speaker 1: and Vigo says, is this some kind of like pathetic
- 51:03Speaker 1: attempt to avenge the death of those scumbags, because from
- 51:08Speaker 1: the way he spoke, Choker, Choker, oh my god, Smoker
- 51:12Speaker 1: understandably put it together that these guys had been attacked
- 51:16Speaker 1: and might be dead.
- 51:17Speaker 2: I don't think they're actually dead.
- 51:19Speaker 3: But.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Yeah, he says, those boys could take a punch. I
- 51:23Speaker 1: wouldn't write them off just yet, and then continues with
- 51:26Speaker 1: his smoke attack multiple fists and whatnot coming out of
- 51:30Speaker 1: the smoke.
- 51:31Speaker 2: It's very fun.
- 51:32Speaker 1: Eventually we have the like blow that should be if
- 51:36Speaker 1: this were somebody else, that we were dealing with like
- 51:39Speaker 1: a killing blow, it's not. He lands it, and Vigo
- 51:44Speaker 1: does indeed go flying across the room, but it's not
- 51:48Speaker 1: really like doing anything. He just stands up and seems
- 51:52Speaker 1: unmoved by it. So I'm trying to like kind of
- 51:59Speaker 1: push through some things here because I'm overtime, well almost
- 52:02Speaker 1: overtime already, So let's see we'll deal with first, fucking
- 52:09Speaker 1: Mocha making the snowstorm in the biscuit room and Nami
- 52:13Speaker 1: has grabbed up Chopper and she's trying to hustle it
- 52:17Speaker 1: out of here, and Robin is standing still, and she's
- 52:23Speaker 1: sort of thinking like perhaps I can slow them down,
- 52:26Speaker 1: and she starts to use her power, but from behind
- 52:31Speaker 1: her comes Monet with these like swords I guess on
- 52:39Speaker 1: her legs. It's like she's I'm trying to see what
- 52:43Speaker 1: they are, because they're spikes that she's holding in each
- 52:47Speaker 1: claw that have a big base to them, and I
- 52:52Speaker 1: don't know these are weapons built specifically for her to
- 52:54Speaker 1: use with these claws. I couldn't figure out what objects
- 52:58Speaker 1: these were supposed to be. But she drives it right
- 53:02Speaker 1: through Robin's shoulder and she doesn't kill her, but she
- 53:05Speaker 1: hurts her pretty badly, and the episode ends with her
- 53:12Speaker 1: going once more in with a dive to try and
- 53:14Speaker 1: finish Robin and nom me off because not me. He
- 53:16Speaker 1: turns around and tries to help Robin, and Zoro interrupts
- 53:22Speaker 1: and she calls him Pirate Hunter Zoro, which I had
- 53:25Speaker 1: forgotten that was even like the name he went by.
- 53:27Speaker 1: And it's so weird because he's an actual pirate now
- 53:31Speaker 1: and not a pirate hunter at all, So you'd really
- 53:34Speaker 1: think that name would have slid off and something else
- 53:36Speaker 1: would have taken his place by now. But no, we're
- 53:39Speaker 1: just going to keep going with this very inappropriate title.
- 53:43Speaker 1: So Mocha, we have the flashbacks with her and what
- 53:48Speaker 1: it was like for her to first come to the island.
- 53:50Speaker 1: I am just going to reiterate how much I hate
- 53:55Speaker 1: Mocha's crying. It was absolutely excruciating. I couldn't take it.
- 54:01Speaker 1: I had to like kind of tune out for a
- 54:03Speaker 1: bit of her thing until that stopped because it was
- 54:06Speaker 1: so grating. Anyway, So yeah, we get to see the
- 54:13Speaker 1: alleged kindness of I love the way that fucking Caesar
- 54:18Speaker 1: Clown is, Like, my name is Caesar Clown, but you
- 54:21Speaker 1: can call me the Master, and I was like, that
- 54:24Speaker 1: is not better? What And we also see Monette and
- 54:29Speaker 1: she still has like her regular human form here. I
- 54:33Speaker 1: don't know how they explain what the fuck happens to her,
- 54:36Speaker 1: and Mocha, for her part, is just realizing like how
- 54:39Speaker 1: much they've been lied to and the fact that this
- 54:41Speaker 1: candy was supposed to be like a reward and now
- 54:44Speaker 1: she's seeing how they've been played and lied to. We
- 54:49Speaker 1: jump back to Monette fighting Zoro still in the snow,
- 54:55Speaker 1: and there's a point where Zoro is coming straight for
- 55:02Speaker 1: Nammy and you guys, this is so funny to me
- 55:07Speaker 1: because he turns around and he is looking for Monet.
- 55:11Speaker 1: He sees Nammy and Robin running away.
- 55:15Speaker 2: And he chases them.
- 55:16Speaker 1: I'm assuming because he thinks in the snow that that's
- 55:20Speaker 1: actually Monete. Nami picks up Chopper and holds him out
- 55:25Speaker 1: in front of her as a shield, which is the
- 55:27Speaker 1: rudest thing I've ever heard, and then just as he
- 55:31Speaker 1: is about to connect, it looks like and chop up Nommy.
- 55:37Speaker 1: It turns out he is coming in to try and
- 55:39Speaker 1: defend her again and blocking against an attack from Monet,
- 55:44Speaker 1: and Monete seems to be like, oh, you know what,
- 55:48Speaker 1: I really thought that I would be able to pick
- 55:52Speaker 1: off the weak ones first, and that.
- 55:54Speaker 2: That would be the witting strategy.
- 55:56Speaker 1: I love how Nami is just so indignant about being
- 55:59Speaker 1: called one of the weak ones. But she finally is like,
- 56:03Speaker 1: you just keep on defending yourself and you're not actually
- 56:07Speaker 1: attacking me, Like, am I Am I able to beat you?
- 56:10Speaker 3: Is that?
- 56:10Speaker 1: What's happening In the midst of this is when Nami
- 56:14Speaker 1: does her heat egg and like creates a hole in
- 56:19Speaker 1: one of Monette's wings, and she's running off, saying over
- 56:24Speaker 1: her like shoulder, h there's more where that came from.
- 56:29Speaker 1: I think she calls her bird brain, which I do
- 56:32Speaker 1: actually quite like. So Monette does snow fence to close
- 56:38Speaker 1: up the doorway and then grabs up Nammy by the
- 56:42Speaker 1: ankle robin by the way she had been pierced to
- 56:44Speaker 1: the shoulder. There's no blood, there's no nothing indicating that
- 56:47Speaker 1: she's even injured anymore. She looks perfectly fine. So I
- 56:50Speaker 1: don't know what's up with that. But everybody who has
- 56:54Speaker 1: been caught up in this snow winds up being frozen
- 56:57Speaker 1: in place and unable to move. And then all of
- 57:00Speaker 1: a sudden, the camera pulls back and you see Monet
- 57:03Speaker 1: in this like Bonker's cloud form, not snow obviously form,
- 57:08Speaker 1: but like what she's looking like to me. Here is
- 57:12Speaker 1: one of the angels from Doctor Who. When they actually
- 57:17Speaker 1: lift their face out of their hands. She looks so
- 57:20Speaker 1: scary here, and I loved this form, and like eventually
- 57:24Speaker 1: when the Marines come in, she like sinks her teeth
- 57:26Speaker 1: into one of their shoulders and begins to freeze them
- 57:29Speaker 1: from lee inside. I thought this was one of the
- 57:32Speaker 1: coolest attacks of this show. I just like the women
- 57:36Speaker 1: are so infrequently really scary looking, and the transformation into
- 57:41Speaker 1: this like snow demon sort of, you know, I just
- 57:46Speaker 1: thought this was really really cool.
- 57:48Speaker 2: I like this a lot.
- 57:50Speaker 1: I don't want to lose her. I know that she's
- 57:53Speaker 1: just sort of a sidekick, so we won't probably see
- 57:57Speaker 1: her after this arc. But I just think that's real
- 58:00Speaker 1: shame because I like her a lot. So all right,
- 58:05Speaker 1: I'm having to jump around here again. Uh so Lufy
- 58:09Speaker 1: is hanging on to our little guy who's using these
- 58:12Speaker 1: orange clouds. He's like climbing up them to get out
- 58:17Speaker 1: of this.
- 58:17Speaker 2: Uh, what's the word I want? It's it's there.
- 58:21Speaker 1: It's like they're down a chute kind of, but all
- 58:25Speaker 1: of a sudden he stops and it seems like he's
- 58:27Speaker 1: run out of gas because he's hungry, I think is
- 58:30Speaker 1: what is supposed to be happening, even though he's saying
- 58:32Speaker 1: he is not hungry. So they're sort of hovering in
- 58:36Speaker 1: mid air for a second, and he's got one finger
- 58:40Speaker 1: in one of the orange clouds, and then let's go
- 58:44Speaker 1: and they just go plummeting back down again. And I
- 58:48Speaker 1: was really puzzled. I was like, I thought we were
- 58:49Speaker 1: making some progress here, What is what is even going on? Meanwhile,
- 58:53Speaker 1: in the rest of the lab, that purple gas is
- 58:56Speaker 1: really coming in and Monette is determined to fucking get
- 59:03Speaker 1: the children back. We have Sanji showing up with all
- 59:06Speaker 1: of the marines and he tells them to all make
- 59:08Speaker 1: it like stupid faces at Zoro, but Zoro points out
- 59:13Speaker 1: where Nami and Robin are, Soanji is like, oh, sweet, great, thanks,
- 59:18Speaker 1: I appreciate it. And then he spots Monette and that
- 59:23Speaker 1: is the end of that. He immediately begins to get
- 59:27Speaker 1: a nosebleed. We have a hottie right here. Why do
- 59:31Speaker 1: I need to go anywhere? And yeah, one of the
- 59:38Speaker 1: Marines does call her a harpye, which is what I
- 59:41Speaker 1: had said before, and I expected that to beat her name,
- 59:44Speaker 1: but apparently not. They're all talking about how she's the
- 59:47Speaker 1: sexiest bird they've ever seen, and one of them says, yeah,
- 59:51Speaker 1: I could be into that, and she blushes and turns away.
- 59:56Speaker 1: She does not seem at all upset, and Zorro says,
- 59:59Speaker 1: call me crazy, but I think you're actually enjoying this,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: which was truly funny. I don't know why, but the
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: idea of her being flattered by them never occurred to me.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: It was just very unexpected, and I did find it
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: genuinely funny. So yeah, this is when she begins to
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: do her like real crazy tooth attack, which is awesome,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: and they're blowing like holes in the side of her
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: head and they just reform and stuff. She looks crazy.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: It is so awesome. I love this thing so much.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: And then she eventually like kind of gets gotten. She
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: stops and is like, wait, what the fuck somebody's using
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: hockey on me because there's some blood that comes down,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: and all of the guys start cheering because apparently it's Tashigi.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: I didn't know that she worked with.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: Hockey but I guess so it was supposed to be
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: Zorro that did that, but I really feel like it
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: was her. I don't know why Zoro if he can
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: use hockey, he hadn't up until this point, but it
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: seems like we're entering a zone where like that's kind
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: of the only thing that's going to work on anybody.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: So yeah.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: The episode ends with Zoro being like, so, what do
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: you plan to do because they're still stuck in this room,
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: and Tashigi gets her sword ready and it's just like,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: I'm going to cut this bitch up and really ruin
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: her day.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: That's what I'm going to do.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: And she tells him I could use a little help,
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: and that's the end.
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: So I'm over time. But these were fun.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: I enjoyed these. Thank you again so much to Florian
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: for commissioning this one. Appreciates you a lot. Thank you
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: to everybody who is listening. I hope you're enjoying the coverage.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: And until next time to the loom motherfuckers. That was
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: an unspoiled network past
