- 1:20Speaker 2: pictures of Katie Lane and her hammock watching TV.
- 1:24Speaker 1: That was to commemorate five years of hard work. I
- 1:27Speaker 1: just want you to know.
- 1:28Speaker 3: But yeah, weekend, well it just Saturday was actually the
- 1:32Speaker 3: anniversary of when I moved back to Denver. I did
- 1:36Speaker 3: not have a job, I didn't have a place to live,
- 1:38Speaker 3: I didn't really have a plan. I just believed in
- 1:41Speaker 3: myself and my abilities. I was like, we're gonna do it, girl,
- 1:43Speaker 3: We're gonna do it. And so that was kind of
- 1:46Speaker 3: it is. I was like, you know, five years ago,
- 1:48Speaker 3: I didn't know where which way.
- 1:50Speaker 1: My life was gonna go.
- 1:51Speaker 3: And now I'm laying in my hammock watching TV for
- 1:54Speaker 3: my balcony. So I think we good.
- 1:56Speaker 2: You did good kids. But that was at Alcahammic. Thank
- 1:59Speaker 2: you World, And then Josh was spouting off about how
- 2:02Speaker 2: you got picked up by a bachelorette party or something
- 2:04Speaker 2: their bachelor party.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Well, yes, that'll.
- 2:06Speaker 5: Princess Pilot had a bachelorette party that she was going
- 2:10Speaker 5: to down in the Springs, and she was like, hey,
- 2:12Speaker 5: like they booked a room all for myself.
- 2:15Speaker 4: I'm not sharing with anybody. Would you just want to
- 2:16Speaker 4: come down?
- 2:16Speaker 5: It was an overnight thing and I was I was like, yeah,
- 2:20Speaker 5: that sounds like a blast. Actually it was at shyan
- 2:22Speaker 5: Mountain Resort, which I had never been to. Beautiful area
- 2:26Speaker 5: first of all, a nice little resort with a golf
- 2:28Speaker 5: course and the Shyanne Mountain View Grill. I believe I
- 2:32Speaker 5: remember that name correctly.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Uh.
- 2:34Speaker 5: I got to hang out by myself, go golfing and
- 2:37Speaker 5: totally like tag along with her, use the pool, use
- 2:40Speaker 5: the amenities as she went off with her little friends
- 2:43Speaker 5: for a little bachelorette party. It was awesome. That was
- 2:46Speaker 5: so much fun to do. I've never done anything like that.
- 2:49Speaker 5: And uh yeah, then she just came back in the
- 2:51Speaker 5: little you know, tipsy with her friends at like eleven
- 2:54Speaker 5: pm with like, I was.
- 2:54Speaker 4: So much fun. I had a blast. Okay, let's go
- 2:56Speaker 4: to sleep good night. Yeah that's what it was awesome.
- 2:59Speaker 5: Okay, Yeah, it was so much fun though, because I'd
- 3:02Speaker 5: never been able to just have like a kind of
- 3:03Speaker 5: staycation thing just for myself. I got paired with a
- 3:06Speaker 5: random guy named Jared. I went golfing on Saturday. Absolute
- 3:11Speaker 5: jar you super nice guy who oddly enough was kind
- 3:14Speaker 5: of staying away from his wife as she was doing
- 3:15Speaker 5: her uh like sauna spa day thing as well. Absolute blast.
- 3:20Speaker 5: I totally recommend going on a little I'm looking at.
- 3:22Speaker 2: The pictures of it. It's a beautiful, uh little resort
- 3:26Speaker 2: area it is. It's a really nice The pool looks awesome.
- 3:29Speaker 4: I would like, yeah, I would do it again. It was.
- 3:33Speaker 4: It was really cool. I had never been there again.
- 3:35Speaker 5: It's like a couple of blocks away from the Broadmoor anyway,
- 3:37Speaker 5: so I was super familiar with the area itself.
- 3:41Speaker 2: But it's got a four point eight on trip Advisor.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Does it really Yeah? Well that was a lot of
- 3:46Speaker 2: handcrafted stone and big wood beams.
- 3:49Speaker 4: It does.
- 3:50Speaker 5: I give it two thumbs up. Man, it was really fun.
- 3:52Speaker 5: I really enjoyed that they have.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Like indoor tennis courts and stuff, because they got a
- 3:55Speaker 2: big bubble out there.
- 3:56Speaker 5: I did not go to that, so I can't speak
- 3:59Speaker 5: for that. They might it might be some pickleball courts
- 4:01Speaker 5: or something as well.
- 4:02Speaker 2: High acting, but.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Yeah, really cool area, really.
- 4:07Speaker 5: Ross was awesome, and yeah, I had a blast, and
- 4:11Speaker 5: I know what it costs.
- 4:13Speaker 4: No, it was covered.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I'm just looking.
- 4:14Speaker 4: I just taxed it a lot. It doesn't express a lot.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I just clicked on two Night's Day and just said, damn.
- 4:23Speaker 2: As we start our day, guys, I just want to
- 4:25Speaker 2: read you something really quick. There's a list out of
- 4:28Speaker 2: the highest paid podcasters this morning. Joe Rogan's making eighty
- 4:40Speaker 2: two million a year, Ashley Flowers Crime Junkie forty two million,
- 4:45Speaker 2: Mel Robbins thirty five million, Jason and Travis Kelcey thirty
- 4:49Speaker 2: five million, Alex Cooper call Her Daddy thirty two million,
- 4:54Speaker 2: Charlemagne they God twenty seven million.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Hey, Charlomagne star it in radio.
- 5:02Speaker 4: So you're saying there's a SAT.
- 5:05Speaker 2: There's that Katie eight seventy five an hour.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Hey, I at least make minimum.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Wait, come on, good for them.
- 5:23Speaker 4: I'm sad.
- 5:24Speaker 1: I know way to start money, start sharing things.
- 5:27Speaker 2: It might be time to start a podcast.
- 5:28Speaker 1: So I'm saying, hope, streets, it's over here.
- 5:31Speaker 2: The market's not float out. I don't think I think
- 5:33Speaker 2: I get hop right now.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Oh yeah, nobody's doing a podcast.
- 5:36Speaker 2: This is a new thing. So I think there's a chance,
- 5:39Speaker 2: all right, Staffords mans Utter sports Uh. Tony Romo, CBS
- 5:46Speaker 2: sports lead, NFL analyst, former Dallas Cowboy quarterback. He's on
- 5:50Speaker 2: leave right now after his DUI arrest in Milliewaukee. Did
- 5:57Speaker 2: you guys see all the video of that, like a
- 5:59Speaker 2: lot of stretching, Yeah, stretch? Why would you when you
- 6:02Speaker 2: got it, you got the world at your fingertips? Why
- 6:05Speaker 2: would you do that?
- 6:06Speaker 6: So?
- 6:06Speaker 5: Why would he lie to a cop about where he
- 6:07Speaker 5: was going? Did you see someone report like an obituary report?
- 6:11Speaker 5: Both of his both sides of his dead parents have
- 6:13Speaker 5: been dead for like twelve years.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Yeah, And then they found shooters and stuff in his car. Man,
- 6:19Speaker 2: I'll never understand that, you know, when you're that famous
- 6:23Speaker 2: and that well known, that you go and you do
- 6:25Speaker 2: some drunk driving.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Now, especially when there's all the ubers and lifts and
- 6:30Speaker 1: you know, so many ways.
- 6:31Speaker 3: For him to get around, and he's obviously not hurting
- 6:34Speaker 3: for money, so it's like, you have all the options.
- 6:37Speaker 3: There's literally no excuse for this at all. So that's
- 6:40Speaker 3: what's frustrating about it.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And it's like, come on, Tony.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Come on, Tony Romo, don't you know No? Yeah, Tony
- 6:47Speaker 2: Romo did a no no, and then finally for me,
- 6:52Speaker 2: I got this story here and it just made my
- 6:55Speaker 2: day because I think about a week ago I went
- 6:58Speaker 2: off on the air about Dinger for your Colorado Rockies
- 7:06Speaker 2: and how he is the worst mascot ever because he
- 7:10Speaker 2: doesn't do anything. He just stands there like a big dummy.
- 7:13Speaker 1: He's adorable.
- 7:14Speaker 2: He looks confused at all times. He's like, what am
- 7:17Speaker 2: I doing here? I have no I have no special
- 7:19Speaker 2: skills or talents.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I want to hug him so bad.
- 7:22Speaker 2: It's like a lot of our interns here. They just
- 7:24Speaker 2: kinda stand around, have no idea what they're doing, and
- 7:26Speaker 2: I want to hug them. And I have no special
- 7:28Speaker 2: skills or talents.
- 7:29Speaker 1: You're gonna be great.
- 7:30Speaker 2: The best mascots in Major League Baseball list was revealed
- 7:34Speaker 2: from Ranker Solid.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Is it gonna support your claim?
- 7:38Speaker 2: Philly Fanatic number one? All day long? That is a
- 7:41Speaker 2: mascot with skills and talents and they deserve it.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Dances Fanatic gets me every time.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Guess who came in at number freaking two.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Dinger.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Dinger came in as the second best MLB mascot.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Are you kidding me?
- 8:00Speaker 1: Are you kidding me. He has horns?
- 8:04Speaker 2: You ridiculous?
- 8:06Speaker 1: Bs.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Is this that rides around on a little trike thing?
- 8:10Speaker 1: No, he's so, you know.
- 8:12Speaker 3: And also when I went to the Father's Day game,
- 8:16Speaker 3: Dinger's dad was there.
- 8:17Speaker 1: He's got a whole.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Family that supports It's where he gets it from, Chip
- 8:24Speaker 3: off the old Block. But no, I'm well, he's a
- 8:29Speaker 3: lot like you, you know what.
- 8:31Speaker 2: He just lays around and eats.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Lets his dinosaur light shine. People appreciate him for what
- 8:36Speaker 1: he is, and he got front to be anything else.
- 8:39Speaker 3: I don't know why you're talking smack over their homie
- 8:43Speaker 3: looking a little lumpy.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Felt right now? Okay, you kidding me?
- 8:51Speaker 4: You kidding.
- 8:52Speaker 1: I'm just saying, don't come here.
- 8:54Speaker 2: I got double if are you kidding me today with
- 8:57Speaker 2: Dinger and Mack?
- 8:58Speaker 3: If you can't take what I'm dish now, don't don't
- 9:00Speaker 3: serve it up to believe me.
- 9:01Speaker 2: You know dishes, I'll tell you that. Should we post
- 9:05Speaker 2: that video of you with the cake.
- 9:07Speaker 1: This is fine, that's fine. I don't know what's wrong
- 9:10Speaker 1: with that. That's a serving cake. I'm fine with that.
- 9:13Speaker 4: I love you.
- 9:13Speaker 2: But everyone's like post the video of the cake. I
- 9:19Speaker 2: want to know what happened with Katie and the cake?
- 9:22Speaker 2: You guys, I've never seen anything like it. I haven't either,
- 9:26Speaker 2: I've never.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Seen anything like what do you mean? I post videos
- 9:28Speaker 1: like that.
- 9:29Speaker 2: All the time, not when you were like mouth and
- 9:33Speaker 2: a cake. I don't.
- 9:34Speaker 4: I don't think so.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I haven't seen that baby cake. Hey, it's an individual
- 9:39Speaker 1: cake for one person.
- 9:41Speaker 4: I don't think it matters. I really don't.
- 9:44Speaker 2: All right, what else is going on in sports?
- 9:45Speaker 1: All right?
- 9:46Speaker 5: Well, yeah, football, NFL, It is in full swing right now.
- 9:48Speaker 5: We actually have our first NFL game this week this
- 9:51Speaker 5: Thursday is the Hall of Fame game. It's preseason, so
- 9:54Speaker 5: it doesn't really matter. But a video was going viral
- 9:56Speaker 5: over the weekend of the arch nemesis of the Denver Broncos,
- 9:59Speaker 5: the Cancer He Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes and this guy
- 10:02Speaker 5: is coming back from an ACL injury, so he's trying
- 10:04Speaker 5: to work his way back and they said he is
- 10:06Speaker 5: full go for a participating in training camp. And this dude,
- 10:10Speaker 5: known for his accuracy, right, he throws a pass that
- 10:14Speaker 5: is so bad I have never seen it in my life.
- 10:17Speaker 5: It went directly to the back of the center's head,
- 10:20Speaker 5: like it was so horrific. And I'm like, this guy's
- 10:23Speaker 5: trying to make his way back into the NFL. Roncos
- 10:25Speaker 5: fans were thrilled to see him actually struggle because it's
- 10:29Speaker 5: just like a guy that you never struggle. It was
- 10:30Speaker 5: one of the funniest videos. Check it out online. And
- 10:32Speaker 5: then one more thing to top everything off. Over the weekend,
- 10:35Speaker 5: a minor league baseball game was going and the commentator
- 10:39Speaker 5: has a great call of a home run ball that
- 10:41Speaker 5: you definitely.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Don't want to see as a commentator.
- 10:44Speaker 7: There's a high fly ball, please don't hit my truck
- 10:47Speaker 7: way back there, and it's gone. It's a solo home
- 10:50Speaker 7: run for Compton, is thirteenth of the year and it's
- 10:52Speaker 7: one to nothing.
- 10:53Speaker 2: It was close.
- 10:54Speaker 7: It was close, Like I see my truck and I
- 10:56Speaker 7: see where.
- 10:56Speaker 2: It's almost hit the blue truck out there.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Yeah, that guy over the fence.
- 11:02Speaker 5: It actually goes out of the stadium, Like this guy
- 11:04Speaker 5: got a hold of.
- 11:05Speaker 4: It truck out there.
- 11:06Speaker 5: You know, that's such a thing, you know, like that's
- 11:11Speaker 5: one of those oh yeah, funny, funny, funny. He know
- 11:15Speaker 5: the question, hold on, what do you do if that
- 11:18Speaker 5: is your truck? Are you like liable for it? Who's
- 11:21Speaker 5: liable for crashing the you know.
- 11:27Speaker 8: What's blowing up.
- 11:28Speaker 1: We've got receipts, We've got drummers, we've got Denver talking.
- 11:33Speaker 3: It's the Mile High Hike with JKJ Legends and icons
- 11:37Speaker 3: on one hundred were.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Let's talk about all the big stories in the morning.
- 11:41Speaker 2: By far the biggest news over the weekend, Spider Man
- 11:44Speaker 2: Brand New Day had the second biggest opening weekend in
- 11:47Speaker 2: domestic box office history, about three hundred and fifty five
- 11:50Speaker 2: million bucks. Joshin saw it and said it was pretty
- 11:54Speaker 2: darn good. There's a lot of web squirting throughout the
- 11:57Speaker 2: whole thing, So, yeah, I hate everybody.
- 12:00Speaker 3: For Spider Man movies, but it was I saw the
- 12:02Speaker 3: popcorn bucket with the hand.
- 12:05Speaker 2: It was like airy hand.
- 12:06Speaker 4: They had his actual head, okay.
- 12:08Speaker 5: And the one thing that I loved about it was
- 12:11Speaker 5: I saw like fifteen or first of all most full
- 12:14Speaker 5: theater I've seen in years, which I love, but there's
- 12:16Speaker 5: about fifteen or sixteen fathers and sons showing up dressed
- 12:20Speaker 5: to Spider Man.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Yeah, that was the cutest thing ever.
- 12:23Speaker 5: And I was like, that's like the first thing that's
- 12:25Speaker 5: ever in my life made me want to have a kid.
- 12:27Speaker 4: I was like, oh, that's so cute.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I want to dress that.
- 12:30Speaker 4: I do. I think it's adorable.
- 12:31Speaker 2: So that was fun to a grown man dressed as
- 12:34Speaker 2: Spider Man this weekend. Jeremy, you know what, I can't
- 12:37Speaker 2: I can't say anything because I went to the he
- 12:39Speaker 2: Man movie with a he Man T shirt.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Only I don't know.
- 12:42Speaker 2: There's something. There's something different there about full Spider Man
- 12:46Speaker 2: costume versus very T shirt.
- 12:48Speaker 5: It's very tight, I dig it. And those men look
- 12:51Speaker 5: that the thing they're not in the shape that Spider
- 12:53Speaker 5: Man is it.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Whenever you go to comic Hunt or something, there's always
- 12:56Speaker 2: a bunch of dudes dressed as Spider Man and it's
- 12:58Speaker 2: very bulgy. And yes, they're just sh they're down with
- 13:03Speaker 2: the thickness.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Some of them are. Some of them, you know, look
- 13:06Speaker 3: really good in that Spider Man.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a few for you the last comic there's
- 13:12Speaker 2: a few.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Not everyone looks bad. You can't group everyone in that.
- 13:17Speaker 1: There's some people.
- 13:17Speaker 4: You're right in the park, you know.
- 13:19Speaker 1: And I followed that guy around a little bit.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Let me see that little spidy bed uh Ariana Grande
- 13:28Speaker 2: is in the hype today. I guess she's going to
- 13:31Speaker 2: be stepping away from the public eye once she wrapped
- 13:33Speaker 2: because everyone's too mean. Yeah, this tour. She's also dropping
- 13:37Speaker 2: out of some sort of musical next summer out in London.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Uh outgrow been growing concern for her health. Yeah, she's
- 13:45Speaker 2: kind of withering away, isn't She looks.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Again like people I feel again, there's that comment from
- 13:52Speaker 3: both of you, the fact that you both think you
- 13:54Speaker 3: can talk about her like that is why she's going away.
- 13:59Speaker 2: They think, well, she she's incredibly skinny, she doesn't look good.
- 14:03Speaker 2: But I will say they are saying that the shows
- 14:07Speaker 2: that she is putting on very physical show.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:11Speaker 3: I mean, she's at the height of her career right now,
- 14:13Speaker 3: and I think that people forget that, like she's doing
- 14:16Speaker 3: a lot. So Yeah, I think that, like for her
- 14:19Speaker 3: to have to quit what she's doing because she can't
- 14:22Speaker 3: take the comments, I just feel so bad for her.
- 14:24Speaker 5: Well, it's really I mean, you want to see someone
- 14:26Speaker 5: who's already not like what Jeremy said, down with the
- 14:29Speaker 5: thickness or anything like, lose so much weight.
- 14:33Speaker 4: Yeah, there is an obvious concern there, right, I mean.
- 14:36Speaker 2: I mean I think there there might be something there
- 14:39Speaker 2: if she is stepping away, if everything was fired wouldn't
- 14:42Speaker 2: she say screw you, guys, I'm just gonna keep performing.
- 14:44Speaker 5: She has planned this, this, the stepping away has been
- 14:47Speaker 5: planned for a while, she said a while back, after
- 14:49Speaker 5: this album and tour, She's like, I'm taking time off.
- 14:52Speaker 5: It's the same with Ed Sheeron, he said, I'm taking
- 14:54Speaker 5: years off. I think when you tour for decades at
- 14:56Speaker 5: this point for you do want some time off.
- 14:58Speaker 4: So that's been planned. But she just looks very different.
- 15:01Speaker 4: She looks very different than.
- 15:02Speaker 2: She has changed for sure. Absolutely. All right, So here's
- 15:06Speaker 2: some bad news from the American Red Cross. They say
- 15:09Speaker 2: that the national blood supply has dropped to a four
- 15:13Speaker 2: year summer low. They are looking mostly for type OH
- 15:18Speaker 2: positive blood right now, the type that's used for a
- 15:22Speaker 2: large share of trans transfusion patients, and it has fallen
- 15:26Speaker 2: below a one day supply. Oh wow, you guys know
- 15:30Speaker 2: what type of blood you are?
- 15:32Speaker 1: I do not.
- 15:32Speaker 4: I don't either.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I wonder how many people actually know what type of blood.
- 15:37Speaker 4: They think I'm the universal receiver.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Mine's red.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I have to.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Oh, it's just really thick. Everybody call your mom today
- 15:52Speaker 2: and find out what kind of blood you know and
- 15:54Speaker 2: go donate. They say the extreme heat, poor air quality,
- 15:58Speaker 2: and illnesses have reduced donor turnout. I believe it's next month.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I'm gonna be doing my pint for pint again, where
- 16:06Speaker 2: you come out and you donate some blood and then
- 16:08Speaker 2: we give you a voucher for a free pint of
- 16:10Speaker 2: beer for your next visit at whatever brewery. I'm gonna
- 16:12Speaker 2: choose here, but that'll hopefully help boost some Colorado blood donations.
- 16:17Speaker 2: So keep an ear out for that. All right, Katie,
- 16:19Speaker 2: what you got?
- 16:20Speaker 1: Okay? So, empower Field maybe a park.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Josh Rosenbloom, he's a local who lives out there by
- 16:27Speaker 3: empower Field, and he says he wants the area to
- 16:30Speaker 3: be a place people can enjoy for generations to come.
- 16:33Speaker 3: So he's already created a petition to make it happen.
- 16:36Speaker 3: He told one of the local news stations that for
- 16:38Speaker 3: fans to be able to come back and have it
- 16:41Speaker 3: be concrete boxes and show their kids and grandkids a
- 16:44Speaker 3: concrete box as opposed to a great space with great
- 16:47Speaker 3: memories and hopefully like plaques and statues commemorating all the
- 16:50Speaker 3: great teams that were here, it would really be a
- 16:53Speaker 3: missed opportunity. So he's trying to make something happen. Now again,
- 16:56Speaker 3: all of the new stadium stuff they say isn't gonna
- 16:59Speaker 3: start happening until twenty twenty seven, so next year, so
- 17:03Speaker 3: he's got some time to get it done. But if
- 17:04Speaker 3: you want to sign this petition, if you want to
- 17:06Speaker 3: find out more about it, about what Josh has in
- 17:09Speaker 3: store for it, it's mile Highpark dot org.
- 17:12Speaker 1: But it's definitely pretty interesting.
- 17:14Speaker 3: I think if they are going to tear it down,
- 17:16Speaker 3: I mean they are gonna tear it down and make
- 17:18Speaker 3: room for the new stadium, this is a nice way.
- 17:20Speaker 1: To preserve that property and space.
- 17:23Speaker 3: And yeah, I just I think that downtown is already
- 17:26Speaker 3: undergoing a little transformation.
- 17:29Speaker 1: If you will, I mean, we could use a park
- 17:31Speaker 1: down there. I like the idea of making it a park.
- 17:34Speaker 4: I think it's cool.
- 17:34Speaker 1: He'll being able to get out and enjoy it.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Well, they have four square and tether ball. Oh, I'm
- 17:39Speaker 2: sure parks all about it. Then let's do it. So
- 17:42Speaker 2: there you go, mile ahead a Teeter Totter or.
- 17:45Speaker 3: Yeah, we could petition for that, Peter Totter.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Yeah, we might have to petition.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I want to I'm.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Down, okay, And then Denver among the worst drivers in
- 17:55Speaker 3: the country.
- 17:55Speaker 1: This doesn't surprise me.
- 17:57Speaker 4: We're all out.
- 17:57Speaker 1: There, we're all out there flying. We know how this works.
- 18:00Speaker 3: But in the top thirty or alone, there were a
- 18:03Speaker 3: total of three cities in and around the Denver metro area,
- 18:06Speaker 3: another Colorado city making it quite high on the list,
- 18:09Speaker 3: with Pueblo.
- 18:11Speaker 1: The top spot number thirteen.
- 18:13Speaker 3: For Colorado's I've never been to Pueblo, but I don't imagine.
- 18:18Speaker 3: I can't imagine they'd be driving a little crazy. Great
- 18:21Speaker 3: Lead number twenty seven, Thornton twenty three, and Lakewood nineteen
- 18:25Speaker 3: on this list. But yeah, they did have a total
- 18:28Speaker 3: of twelve Colorado cities in this Aurora fifty six, four
- 18:33Speaker 3: Colins sixty two, Denver number sixty five.
- 18:37Speaker 1: But Memphis is no longer the city with the worst drivers.
- 18:40Speaker 1: They had that for three years straight.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Now it is water Bury, Connecticut, and I thought it
- 18:45Speaker 3: might be It seems kind of fancy over there in Connecticut.
- 18:47Speaker 3: You think they'd take their time on the roads. But yeah,
- 18:50Speaker 3: worst drivers out there. And then a driver list Zamboni.
- 18:55Speaker 3: We've got one right here in the Denver metro and
- 18:57Speaker 3: no one else does.
- 18:58Speaker 1: This is kind of exciting. Means so Weston Wood word.
- 19:02Speaker 3: He is the ice supervisor with South Suburban Parks and
- 19:05Speaker 3: Wreck and the new autotonomous Zamboni is a family sports
- 19:10Speaker 3: center in Centennial, and again it's the only spot that
- 19:13Speaker 3: has one the driverless Zamboni. That's where that makes sense,
- 19:17Speaker 3: that's where they practice. It's like one hundred grand to
- 19:20Speaker 3: get a driverless Samboni.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Apparently. I thought it'd be more than that.
- 19:23Speaker 3: But it really is turning some heads because you see
- 19:27Speaker 3: it out there on the ice and nobody's drying.
- 19:29Speaker 1: I mean, that's would scare me.
- 19:31Speaker 4: I thought, would last.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I know exactly.
- 19:39Speaker 2: He's like no, no, yeah, or is that a steamroller?
- 19:44Speaker 3: But they say that it's able to scan the ice
- 19:48Speaker 3: and make sure it's thick and safe enough. So it's
- 19:51Speaker 3: all like new technology that's able to like put a
- 19:54Speaker 3: beam down on the ice and see exactly what's happened.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Pretty neat is a funny word, isn't it.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Yeah? Oh yeah, one of the I like the Z words.
- 20:03Speaker 1: That's why I named the name. So I really like
- 20:07Speaker 1: the the Z word. But they should have.
- 20:10Speaker 2: A sandwich shopper in there and call it Zamboni baloney,
- 20:13Speaker 2: They really should. That would be the story.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Somebody was up all night. Yeah, they do have a
- 20:21Speaker 1: few people in this story.
- 20:22Speaker 3: That's kind of funny though, because they talk about how
- 20:25Speaker 3: some of the people are a little sad because it
- 20:27Speaker 3: hurts their soul because they've always had the dream of
- 20:30Speaker 3: driving a zam I mean that's sad for them, exactly,
- 20:34Speaker 3: the driver.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Taking their jobs.
- 20:38Speaker 2: They slowly walk over to their vision board and boarded
- 20:42Speaker 2: in these picture of the zamboni and crumple it up
- 20:46Speaker 2: and single tear rolling down their no more zamboni dreams
- 20:51Speaker 2: for me.
- 20:52Speaker 3: You get to know the zamboni drivers and we all
- 20:54Speaker 3: become friends.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Yeah, literally in this story that's yeah and kudos.
- 20:59Speaker 2: And your name is Tony and you drive a zamboni.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Zamboni the facilities here.
- 21:06Speaker 3: So they told the local news folks that nobody's losing
- 21:09Speaker 3: their job. It's still able to be driven just like
- 21:12Speaker 3: any of the other ice okay.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Exactly, So you can jump on in that zamboni. Don't
- 21:19Speaker 1: you WORRYMONI. But there you go. There's the latest girl city.
- 21:23Speaker 1: It's your mile high hut.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Well you're doing tonight, huh? Will meet me on the
- 21:28Speaker 2: ice resurface, play with my zamboni really quick on the
- 21:33Speaker 2: heels of all the local stuff going on today. If
- 21:36Speaker 2: you want to go out and celebrate Colorado's one hundred
- 21:38Speaker 2: and fiftieth birthday, the Colorado Parks and Wildlife is saying
- 21:43Speaker 2: that today is the day that you want to get
- 21:45Speaker 2: out to any of Colorado's national parks because they're all
- 21:48Speaker 2: free today. That's kind of nice. Oh that's really cool.
- 21:52Speaker 2: State parks and national parks, I believe, and I'll look
- 21:55Speaker 2: that up. At least it's state parks anyway. There's others
- 22:00Speaker 2: that are going to remain in effect though, like camping reservations,
- 22:03Speaker 2: boat and off highway vehicle registrations, hunting fishing licenses. All
- 22:09Speaker 2: those fees stay in effect. But if you want to
- 22:11Speaker 2: roll into a state park today, they are free. And
- 22:15Speaker 2: check this out. They are also saying that you can
- 22:17Speaker 2: have free admission to all Colorado State parks throughout the
- 22:21Speaker 2: month of August if you are an active duty military member,
- 22:25Speaker 2: a VET, and a National Guard member. That's really neat,
- 22:29Speaker 2: isn't it very much? Thank you very much for your service,
- 22:34Speaker 2: jar you, Katy.
- 22:35Speaker 8: And Josh six one hundred.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Just a heads up, it's gonna be trip digch today, bro,
- 22:41Speaker 2: trip digg triple digits again in the Mahi City one
- 22:46Speaker 2: hundred degrees today. There's all sorts of Colorado health data
- 22:51Speaker 2: out this morning talking about heat related illnesses that have
- 22:56Speaker 2: been affecting people this summer. It was the second hottest
- 22:59Speaker 2: July on record. If I recall, I think I saw
- 23:02Speaker 2: that story. Anyway, they say keep an eye out for
- 23:06Speaker 2: heat exhaustion. It can begin with heavy sweating, nausea, dizziness, weakness, headache.
- 23:13Speaker 2: I had all of that last night when I was
- 23:14Speaker 2: eating my try tip off the smoker, a lot of
- 23:18Speaker 2: heavy sweating. It can involve confusion, fainting, seizures, high blood,
- 23:24Speaker 2: high body temperature. So be careful while you're out there.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Maybe stop by a lemonade stand, right, Katie, and get
- 23:30Speaker 2: you some lemonade from kids? Boy, why are you so.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Mad at w wallet?
- 23:37Speaker 3: Why I'm not okay? So I was trying to be
- 23:42Speaker 3: a nice neighbor. There were some kids set up in
- 23:44Speaker 3: my neighborhood with a lemonade stand, and I walked up to.
- 23:48Speaker 1: It, like, you guys are adorable. Oh my gosh, what
- 23:50Speaker 1: do I owe you?
- 23:51Speaker 3: Fifty cents two dollars AUP a cup of lemonade that
- 23:57Speaker 3: was watered down.
- 23:58Speaker 1: You could tell it was the end of the picture,
- 24:00Speaker 1: and they're like, just have more water, it's so warm,
- 24:03Speaker 1: and then they haven't.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Like these kids are like, do you need a three
- 24:06Speaker 3: dollars bag of chips to go with that?
- 24:08Speaker 1: And it's like the little mini You know, they probably
- 24:11Speaker 1: got it from their lunch box and just saved it
- 24:13Speaker 1: then charged me three dollars for it.
- 24:16Speaker 2: So did you say, yeah, no, I did it.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I was like, you know, I only have two dollars
- 24:19Speaker 1: on me.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Sorry, kids, But man, I just really got me thinking
- 24:23Speaker 3: because I know inflation things get more expensive, but two
- 24:27Speaker 3: dollars for a half a cup of the styrofoam cup
- 24:31Speaker 3: of lemonade.
- 24:32Speaker 1: You can imagine the styrofoam cup. Those are not big.
- 24:34Speaker 1: What are those three dounses?
- 24:35Speaker 2: They're tiny? Half of that for two dollars and the
- 24:39Speaker 2: parents did you negotiate?
- 24:41Speaker 8: Now?
- 24:41Speaker 1: What are you gonna do with you negotiate?
- 24:43Speaker 2: You teach us kids about negotiation, and I'll give you
- 24:46Speaker 2: fifty cents.
- 24:47Speaker 3: I feel like that's on the parents to be like
- 24:49Speaker 3: two dollars might be a little much, like why are
- 24:52Speaker 3: you charging people two?
- 24:53Speaker 1: Everything is so expensive and.
- 24:56Speaker 2: It's because the parents bought all that crap and they
- 24:58Speaker 2: want their money bag.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I guess this is what it is.
- 25:00Speaker 3: But I just feel like, as like an adult, you
- 25:03Speaker 3: kind of it's on you to not throw out a
- 25:07Speaker 3: completely unreasonable price for a cup of lemonade.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I mean it was just way too much.
- 25:11Speaker 3: But at the time, like I'm up there, they tell
- 25:14Speaker 3: me it's two dollars, and then what do I say,
- 25:16Speaker 3: never mind, turn around and walk away absolutely drin and
- 25:18Speaker 3: then I'm an awful person.
- 25:20Speaker 2: You got to teach them disappointment and rejection. This is
- 25:22Speaker 2: these are all life lessons. This is why they're out there. No,
- 25:25Speaker 2: I think this is business.
- 25:26Speaker 1: That falls on the parent.
- 25:27Speaker 3: You don't charge somebody two dollars for a crap prop Again,
- 25:31Speaker 3: it was water.
- 25:32Speaker 1: It was essentially yellow water.
- 25:34Speaker 3: I didn't know it until I walked away and I
- 25:37Speaker 3: took a drink.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I just feel like, yeah, like they just did me
- 25:40Speaker 1: dirty right there.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Business If something is a better price, if you're shopping
- 25:44Speaker 2: at Target and it's a better price at Walmart, you
- 25:47Speaker 2: leave and you go to Walmart. You tell those little girls, oh,
- 25:49Speaker 2: you know, down the street there was a stand for
- 25:51Speaker 2: fifty cents a cup. That's fine, cut me a deal.
- 25:54Speaker 3: There wasn't a stand down the street, but What I'm
- 25:57Speaker 3: saying is that I will if those kids are set
- 25:59Speaker 3: up today with elemonade stand or any day in the
- 26:02Speaker 3: near future it and I'm gonna tell everybody else don't
- 26:06Speaker 3: trust those kids.
- 26:07Speaker 1: They're gonna charge you two dollars for yellow waters.
- 26:09Speaker 2: I dare you to stand like mouth just a little
- 26:11Speaker 2: bit down from and be with a sign.
- 26:14Speaker 3: If they don't want to be, you know, on the
- 26:16Speaker 3: up and up, and they want to do me dirty
- 26:18Speaker 3: like that, then more of mouth goes.
- 26:20Speaker 1: A long way.
- 26:21Speaker 2: I say, you get on next door. Yeah, you get
- 26:23Speaker 2: on your Facebook today. You tell everybody where these horrible
- 26:27Speaker 2: children are and say do not go near them.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Those kids are gonna take all your money.
- 26:33Speaker 2: You gonna take this lemonade stand down. Well, I'm sure
- 26:39Speaker 2: a lot of parents are wanting the kiddos to get
- 26:41Speaker 2: back to school, mostly because it's so damn expensive every
- 26:46Speaker 2: single weekend. A new report out this morning talking about
- 26:51Speaker 2: how the average American spends about four hundred dollars on
- 26:54Speaker 2: summer activities each and every weekend, and they broke it
- 26:59Speaker 2: down to like dining out, attending celebrations, and having to
- 27:04Speaker 2: get gifts, a lot of birthday parties and stuff, hosting gatherings.
- 27:09Speaker 2: You're hosting birthday parties and barbecues, entertainment, movie theaters, concerts,
- 27:14Speaker 2: theme parks. Then they broke it down into camping and boating, hiking, fishing,
- 27:21Speaker 2: and then there's self care and then transportation, just driving
- 27:24Speaker 2: everybody around. You're spending about four hundred dollars a weekend,
- 27:28Speaker 2: and that seems about right. There's a funny meme that's
- 27:34Speaker 2: going around that says, why is every day two hundred dollars? Yeah?
- 27:38Speaker 2: You know, it really is wild.
- 27:40Speaker 1: For a single person.
- 27:41Speaker 3: I mean, I told myself I was not going to
- 27:43Speaker 3: spend a single cent all weekend.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Good for you.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Six later I broke my promise to myself, and is
- 27:52Speaker 3: those little things it just starts piling up, right?
- 27:55Speaker 2: Absolutely? So kids go back to school because you're expensive.
- 28:00Speaker 2: We did not spend that much this weekend because my
- 28:03Speaker 2: sweet wife, Nick Knack, stumbled upon the Denver Art Museum
- 28:07Speaker 2: doing a free day this past weekend, all in honor
- 28:11Speaker 2: of the one hundred and fiftieth for Colorado. So we
- 28:15Speaker 2: packed up the old family suv and went down to
- 28:17Speaker 2: the Denver Art Museum, which I got to thinking, I
- 28:21Speaker 2: don't think I have been there since elementary school on
- 28:25Speaker 2: some sort of field trip.
- 28:26Speaker 4: It has been.
- 28:27Speaker 2: I mean, like, who is like, hey, we got to
- 28:30Speaker 2: get down to the art museum, Like nobody ever says that, right,
- 28:33Speaker 2: And we did this because actually my daughter went down
- 28:36Speaker 2: for a school field trip and she told us that
- 28:38Speaker 2: she didn't really feel like she saw enough, and she's
- 28:41Speaker 2: really into art and stuff. So we're like, yeah, it's
- 28:43Speaker 2: a little day for you. Then let's go down to
- 28:45Speaker 2: the art museum. And I will tell you, when you
- 28:48Speaker 2: go down there, wear some good walking shoes. We put
- 28:50Speaker 2: on five miles oh walking around two different buildings down there,
- 28:55Speaker 2: looking at all the delicious art. And it was good,
- 28:59Speaker 2: it was nice, It was, you know, somewhat busy. What
- 29:02Speaker 2: fascinated me is how they have these priceless pieces of
- 29:08Speaker 2: art just right there on the wall and you can
- 29:10Speaker 2: essentially just go up and lick them if you want.
- 29:12Speaker 2: I mean, you can get right up on them.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure they frown upon that.
- 29:16Speaker 2: There is a few signs that says, please don't lick
- 29:17Speaker 2: the art.
- 29:19Speaker 1: So don't do that.
- 29:20Speaker 2: There's a Monee there that is part of some sort
- 29:23Speaker 2: of water lily series that he did or something.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Up you shut up, seriously, there's a.
- 29:30Speaker 2: There's a water lily Monee there and I believe it's
- 29:33Speaker 2: the most expensive piece at the museum. And we looked
- 29:36Speaker 2: it up and they say, essentially, these things are priceless
- 29:40Speaker 2: when they are in the museums. But other paintings in
- 29:43Speaker 2: this series. I looked up the values when what they
- 29:46Speaker 2: sold for eighty four million, seventy million, sixty five million,
- 29:50Speaker 2: and fifty four million. So this one that they have
- 29:53Speaker 2: hanging at the Art Museum is somewhere within that bubble.
- 29:56Speaker 2: So they could have an eighty million dollar piece of
- 29:58Speaker 2: art hanging right there and you literally just walk up
- 30:01Speaker 2: and touch it if you want it. They've got some
- 30:03Speaker 2: little thin glass barrier on him, but it's like it's
- 30:07Speaker 2: just right there. That's love Monet a picture of it.
- 30:12Speaker 1: His water lily features, Like because.
- 30:14Speaker 2: I'm should go look at it.
- 30:15Speaker 4: That's like his most famous series.
- 30:16Speaker 3: I have a fake Monette in my living room. I
- 30:19Speaker 3: got it at TJ Max.
- 30:21Speaker 2: That's worth well, you should go check it out. It's
- 30:26Speaker 2: really neat no idea.
- 30:27Speaker 1: That's what they were rolling with at the Denver Art Museum.
- 30:29Speaker 2: They've got so much neat stuff and it is kind
- 30:32Speaker 2: of you know, you look at these things and you
- 30:35Speaker 2: kind of tried to decipher in your head, like what
- 30:37Speaker 2: it all means and what they were going when they
- 30:40Speaker 2: painted or sculpted, and then you go read the little
- 30:42Speaker 2: plaque on the wall and you're like, wh I was
- 30:44Speaker 2: way off and it is just kind of neat, you know.
- 30:48Speaker 2: I was standing there at one point just watching other
- 30:51Speaker 2: people stand there and look at the art and just
- 30:54Speaker 2: how involved they get in it. Like there was one
- 30:57Speaker 2: guy that he stood at each piece and stare at
- 31:00Speaker 2: it for like ten minutes, like he got into it.
- 31:03Speaker 2: I was like, what's this guy's deal? Is he stoned or.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Is he is he really?
- 31:07Speaker 2: Yeah? Like he stood there and you can just see
- 31:09Speaker 2: the wheels turning, Like, what am I looking at right?
- 31:12Speaker 2: Share me?
- 31:13Speaker 1: Oh you fancy? Huh?
- 31:14Speaker 2: I know, I felt pretty fancy.
- 31:15Speaker 1: You're watching people look out.
- 31:17Speaker 7: I was.
- 31:17Speaker 2: I mean, it was an experience, you know, It's something
- 31:20Speaker 2: that I don't ever typically do, but I would highly
- 31:23Speaker 2: recommend it. There's some great observation decks on the top
- 31:27Speaker 2: of the original art museum down there that gives you
- 31:29Speaker 2: some great views of the city. And one final thing,
- 31:32Speaker 2: after all this raving about the art and the people
- 31:36Speaker 2: watching and the experience, I don't go downtown a lot because.
- 31:41Speaker 4: I hate it.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Maybe maybe you've experienced this and I haven't. The best
- 31:47Speaker 2: part of the day was the parking garage.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Which one did you go?
- 31:52Speaker 2: The parking garage that is basically connected to the Denver
- 31:56Speaker 2: Library down there in the art museums. It's the one
- 31:59Speaker 2: right there and to it all. And the best thing
- 32:02Speaker 2: about this parking garage is looking at the ceiling because
- 32:06Speaker 2: they've got these little i don't know how you would
- 32:09Speaker 2: describe it, like little power lines that go up and
- 32:11Speaker 2: over your car on the ceiling and then they hook
- 32:14Speaker 2: down just a little bit. And when they hook down
- 32:16Speaker 2: on the end of the hook, they've got a little
- 32:18Speaker 2: tiny led light and it's either red or green. And
- 32:23Speaker 2: you look, you know, down the hallway of the parking garage,
- 32:25Speaker 2: and it's like lights all the way down. The green
- 32:29Speaker 2: ones mean that the spot is empty. The red runs
- 32:32Speaker 2: mean that they are taken, so as you're driving through
- 32:35Speaker 2: you don't have to do this slow like and when
- 32:37Speaker 2: you get up on it and you're like, oh, there's
- 32:38Speaker 2: a little car in there. Look at the ceiling, and
- 32:42Speaker 2: when you see a little green light, you're like, there's
- 32:44Speaker 2: one right there. So you just zip up to it
- 32:46Speaker 2: and pull in and then boop, it turns red.
- 32:48Speaker 1: That's so perfect.
- 32:49Speaker 2: And the other part is, you know when you navigate
- 32:52Speaker 2: your way like like a quirk screw up those parking garages,
- 32:55Speaker 2: you know, around and round, there's a sign with you know,
- 32:58Speaker 2: go this way pointing up and on the sign it's
- 33:01Speaker 2: digital it says level two has nine spots open. Level
- 33:05Speaker 2: three has one hundred and forty spots open. So there's
- 33:07Speaker 2: no like guessing in those stress of like is there
- 33:10Speaker 2: enough spots in here? Where can I park?
- 33:13Speaker 1: It was the neatest thing ever.
- 33:14Speaker 3: They Bucki's bathroom to the parking ground exactly.
- 33:18Speaker 1: What is genius? Its brilliant.
- 33:21Speaker 3: They need to do that to all the parking garages,
- 33:24Speaker 3: all of them.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Maybe a beaver and.
- 33:27Speaker 3: Also put beavers in their exactly beaver nuggets.
- 33:29Speaker 4: It's a good day.
- 33:30Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 33:31Speaker 2: It's really neat. I'll post some pictures of videos of
- 33:33Speaker 2: the parking grod.
- 33:35Speaker 5: Five five.

- 34:41Speaker 2: the math. It's it's something like fifty two hundred shows.
- 34:44Speaker 2: If you do you know, if you factor in weekdays,
- 34:46Speaker 2: take out some holidays, vacation time. I think I'm right
- 34:49Speaker 2: around there. Fifty two hundred shows and fifty two hundred
- 34:52Speaker 2: times waking up at three thirty.
- 34:53Speaker 3: In the morning, I know, and I love how people
- 34:55Speaker 3: were saying, we need to make a big celebration for
- 34:58Speaker 3: your fifty two eighty shows. All that would be what

- 37:12Speaker 9: And did? Actually sold a bunch of stuff, so that
- 37:14Speaker 9: was good.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, how much money did you make?

- 49:07Speaker 1: I think I think it's done to be doing multiple
- 49:10Speaker 1: candies that are shaped.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Like, Hey, Joshua, who would you like to take to
- 49:15Speaker 2: Noah Khan with you?
- 49:17Speaker 6: I was trying to take my dad.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Oh all right, all right, all day long, I'll give
- 49:24Speaker 2: it to you. I'm in a good mood today.
- 49:27Speaker 6: Thank you, what all? Thank you?
- 49:30Speaker 2: Oh you did all the hard work, buddy, You and
- 49:32Speaker 2: your dad have a very fun time at Cornsfield to
- 49:36Speaker 2: go see the sold out Noah Coon. Courtesy of Jeremy
- 49:39Speaker 2: and Katie and josh Thanks so much, Thanks buddy for
- 49:43Speaker 2: calling in. Absolutely you know, I was just raving about
- 49:50Speaker 2: how great it's been to be here for twenty two years.
- 49:54Speaker 2: If there's one thing, what happened that I would I
- 50:00Speaker 2: would say is not the best part is the text
- 50:03Speaker 2: line sometimes, Oh, everyone coming at me right now? Because
- 50:08Speaker 2: I gave that sweet nineteen year old boy tickets to
- 50:12Speaker 2: go see Noah con with his dad because I wanted
- 50:15Speaker 2: things with a triangle and he just said candy. And
- 50:18Speaker 2: now you're all mad at me because he said candy
- 50:21Speaker 2: doesn't work. I's too generic, you sack. Well, now you
- 50:27Speaker 2: say it to Blarone totlarone.
- 50:31Speaker 5: I think it's toblerone bolone, Tony the tiger speak.
- 50:38Speaker 2: Listen, think about it. It's that chocolate bar shaped like
- 50:42Speaker 2: a triangle. It's long, it's mountains toll blarony baloney. Yeah,
- 50:47Speaker 2: that's all I got to say, even though none of
- 50:50Speaker 2: us know how to say it. That is candy shaped
- 50:53Speaker 2: like a triangle.
- 50:55Speaker 1: All day?
- 50:56Speaker 2: I love you all sure, Maybe just back away from
- 50:59Speaker 2: the text.
- 50:59Speaker 1: Line, Back away the phone.
- 51:02Speaker 2: Listen, you want me here a few more years, Just
- 51:04Speaker 2: back away from the text A deep breath, everybody. It's
- 51:10Speaker 2: as a silly game and we're talking about triangle shaped
- 51:13Speaker 2: candy this morning. All right, things are going to be
- 51:16Speaker 2: Things are gonna be fine.
- 51:17Speaker 1: Today, Jery, Katy and josh One hundred.
- 51:22Speaker 2: I did not know that today should have been a
- 51:25Speaker 2: national holiday, right our congers person, I had no idea.
- 51:29Speaker 2: Who do we talk to that today was baby Nana's birthday,
- 51:36Speaker 2: the non birthday.
- 51:38Speaker 3: Gay gay, I know, I celebrate like it's a national holiday.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Hey, hey, yes, it's my birthday day day.
- 51:46Speaker 3: You know.
- 51:47Speaker 1: We used to do it's my birthday is.
- 51:50Speaker 3: On her birthday, we would go get the pictures done right,
- 51:54Speaker 3: like the J. C.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Penny portress. Oh, we will go rolling.
- 51:57Speaker 3: I would set the appointment for noon because she was
- 52:00Speaker 3: born at twelve oh six.
- 52:02Speaker 2: No, then you get like pictures right around the We.
- 52:05Speaker 3: Got pictures right when she turned the next age.
- 52:08Speaker 1: So we did that every year up until she.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Was ten, and then she was like, mom, my friends
- 52:12Speaker 3: make fun of me right on my birthday. So we
- 52:17Speaker 3: did that for like the first ten years.
- 52:19Speaker 1: But oh yeah, I love today, you.
- 52:22Speaker 2: Know, and you should go today and do it just
- 52:24Speaker 2: for the hell of it.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Well, here's the thing, let me tell you about today.
- 52:27Speaker 3: And it made me a little upset because I was
- 52:29Speaker 3: talking to the baby Nana because usually on her birthday
- 52:32Speaker 3: she has the same thing. She goes and gets breakfast
- 52:35Speaker 3: with her best friend. They do that each and every year,
- 52:37Speaker 3: and then at some point during the day, I'm able
- 52:40Speaker 3: to meet up with her, give her her birthday gifts
- 52:42Speaker 3: and her kids as and her hugs and Mama, yeah,
- 52:45Speaker 3: me much.
- 52:46Speaker 1: The baby Nana.
- 52:48Speaker 3: But I was talking to her and she was like,
- 52:50Speaker 3: remember I told you she had a plan to go
- 52:52Speaker 3: do the craft thing with her friends. So she was
- 52:54Speaker 3: gonna get They have those craft parties, go like crochet
- 52:59Speaker 3: and and then you have like little drinks and Nibley's
- 53:01Speaker 3: and you know, you have a good time. You have
- 53:03Speaker 3: a party, and then the plan was to go get
- 53:05Speaker 3: juicy seafood after that, and so I was all about it, right,
- 53:09Speaker 3: Like I was looking forward to this like it was
- 53:11Speaker 3: my birthday because I love juicy seafood. And I was
- 53:14Speaker 3: talking to her yesterday and she's like, well, actually, Mom,
- 53:17Speaker 3: that's just for me and my friend Boom.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Was uninvited to my own child's birthday. And I threw
- 53:26Speaker 1: the line. I was like, did they give birth to you?
- 53:30Speaker 1: Is that? Is it their the obligation to be with
- 53:33Speaker 1: you on your birthday?
- 53:34Speaker 3: No. She made me feel like I was so wrong
- 53:37Speaker 3: about this, like she's gonna be twenty.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Three her friends.
- 53:44Speaker 3: No, but it's on the actual birthday, like she can't
- 53:46Speaker 3: go with her friends tomorrow.
- 53:48Speaker 2: You can't go tomorrow.
- 53:50Speaker 1: That's what's happening now.
- 53:51Speaker 3: I've been demoted to the not on the actual birthday,
- 53:54Speaker 3: birthday kind of thing, like I feel. And I even
- 53:58Speaker 3: threw this out there, and I felt like kind of
- 54:00Speaker 3: a jerk, I know, and she told me that too. No,
- 54:03Speaker 3: I felt like such a jerk because I said, today's
- 54:06Speaker 3: kind of about me too.
- 54:08Speaker 1: You know, I'm the one who did all the work,
- 54:10Speaker 1: Like it been stretch mark that did not. I said,
- 54:13Speaker 1: you bruned my body.
- 54:15Speaker 2: Soul center pictures of your stretch marks, like this is you? Now,
- 54:19Speaker 2: give me some damn juicy s.
- 54:21Speaker 3: Maybe that wasn't the best thing to say to her,
- 54:23Speaker 3: because she's like, I don't know why you're trying to
- 54:24Speaker 3: make me feel bad about my birthday.
- 54:26Speaker 1: I was like, I don't know why I am either,
- 54:27Speaker 1: but this makes me mad. You were pretty fired up
- 54:30Speaker 1: early because I was fired up, and I like, here's
- 54:33Speaker 1: the thing. I feel like I'm wrong. I do. I
- 54:36Speaker 1: feel like there's this like.
- 54:37Speaker 4: A six year old so I think there's a.
- 54:40Speaker 3: Small part of me that's like, this is not the
- 54:42Speaker 3: normal reaction to have when your twenty three year old child.
- 54:44Speaker 1: Says, you can't go to their birthday dinner.
- 54:47Speaker 3: But also a part of me is like I gave
- 54:50Speaker 3: birth to you, I should be able to come eat seafood.
- 54:52Speaker 2: I want some crawfish or.
- 54:54Speaker 1: Whatever you're thinking about crab like crab.
- 54:58Speaker 3: And then now that i'm I don't get to be a.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Part of it.
- 55:02Speaker 3: It's not only that, but she's going to have juicy
- 55:05Speaker 3: seafood tonight.
- 55:06Speaker 1: That is not a meal you do back to back.
- 55:08Speaker 2: You gotta get you. You don't want to do that.
- 55:09Speaker 1: I'm in between for that to give you.
- 55:12Speaker 3: Since I got to go to like Olive Garden or
- 55:14Speaker 3: something and literally enjoy her.
- 55:17Speaker 2: Her enjoy her day with her friends. She's twenty some
- 55:21Speaker 2: years old. She wants to go out with her friends.
- 55:24Speaker 3: Mommy, I just feel like I am.
- 55:28Speaker 2: I do have you.
- 55:30Speaker 1: You're shaking your head. I feel like I have a
- 55:32Speaker 1: right to feel this way.
- 55:34Speaker 4: It's not a mother's reaction.
- 55:35Speaker 2: I've never is she still expecting a gift today? Yeah, okay,
- 55:41Speaker 2: all right, and that'll fire me up.
- 55:43Speaker 3: She has sent me links to things that she wants,
- 55:47Speaker 3: and these are not cheap things. It has sent me
- 55:49Speaker 3: like bookshelf speakers, like headphones that are two hundred dollars,
- 55:53Speaker 3: Justin Bieber vinyls that are raise dollars.
- 55:56Speaker 1: No, I did not.
- 55:58Speaker 2: There was no twenty five dollars gift card to Target.
- 56:01Speaker 3: No, she is not a twenty five dollars gift card
- 56:03Speaker 3: to Target kind of girl.
- 56:04Speaker 4: So for that stuff she does, Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 56:07Speaker 3: No, she expects it from all of us. But then
- 56:09Speaker 3: I'm not invited to the seafood party, and well he.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Phone for her, No, Justin Beaver vinyls for her. Yeah,
- 56:16Speaker 2: she gets the twenty five dollars gift card, which is
- 56:19Speaker 2: all you really need.
- 56:20Speaker 1: I know.
- 56:20Speaker 3: If I don't get to go to your seafood party, well, yeah,
- 56:23Speaker 3: from what I recall, you're going to be going to
- 56:26Speaker 3: Sublime here soon, right, and she was going to be
- 56:29Speaker 3: going with you.
- 56:29Speaker 2: You had the extra ticket.
- 56:31Speaker 1: For her going on.
- 56:32Speaker 2: Guess what, Oh, mom can enjoy a night out with
- 56:35Speaker 2: her friends too, right, that's how you do it.
- 56:38Speaker 1: The way your thank you.
- 56:40Speaker 2: Right now, my daughter can go out with right, she
- 56:42Speaker 2: can go to gccafood again that night.
- 56:44Speaker 1: You're right, actually, because she.
- 56:46Speaker 2: Because you were stressed. Because I'm trying to remember how
- 56:49Speaker 2: it all went down, but you were stressed because you
- 56:52Speaker 2: wanted to go with somebody else. But she had already
- 56:55Speaker 2: requested the ticket or something like that.
- 56:56Speaker 3: Because when I went to Sublime at Red Rocks earlier
- 56:59Speaker 3: than this year, I didn't bring her because I didn't
- 57:02Speaker 3: want to have to be a mom at Red Rocks
- 57:04Speaker 3: at the concert.
- 57:05Speaker 2: I wanted to.
- 57:06Speaker 3: Enjoy my time my friends. So she didn't come to
- 57:09Speaker 3: that show with me. So now that Sublime is coming
- 57:12Speaker 3: to Fiddler's Green or Fiddler's Amphitheater, she was like, yeah,
- 57:15Speaker 3: you have.
- 57:16Speaker 1: To bring me. You didn't bring me the Red Rock.
- 57:19Speaker 1: We almost say it now, I almost.
- 57:25Speaker 3: Said it like that, but no, so like that truly,
- 57:29Speaker 3: she told me I had to bring her on Friday.
- 57:31Speaker 2: You don't, right?
- 57:32Speaker 4: Maybe?
- 57:32Speaker 1: Now do you know what.
- 57:34Speaker 2: I spent my.
- 57:37Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 57:38Speaker 6: Are you?
- 57:39Speaker 1: I know? I don't know if I can.
- 57:41Speaker 2: Did you buy a cake or anything for today?
- 57:44Speaker 1: Or you know I bought a cake?
- 57:47Speaker 3: You know I did, and I got mad and I
- 57:50Speaker 3: ate it all to.
- 57:53Speaker 2: You guys. There's a video that I'm dying for Kitty
- 57:56Speaker 2: to post now. She bought a little mini cake, mini
- 58:00Speaker 2: cake that could probably feed four people still, and she's
- 58:03Speaker 2: so mad at baby Nana that she ate the cake
- 58:07Speaker 2: with no utensils and made a video about it. She
- 58:11Speaker 2: put her face into the cake and then I'm mad
- 58:13Speaker 2: at my baby Nana video.
- 58:18Speaker 1: It's amazing and you're watching it.
- 58:20Speaker 2: And you're like, I have no idea why you're single.
- 58:26Speaker 2: This all has to do with a viral story. I
- 58:29Speaker 2: saw it over the weekend and I posted as a
- 58:31Speaker 2: little story on our Instagrammy's. But it's the latest controversy
- 58:36Speaker 2: centered on parents who are sending out birthday invites, and
- 58:40Speaker 2: within the birthday invite, there including a Venmo QR code,
- 58:45Speaker 2: cash app, other QR codes, and there may be a
- 58:48Speaker 2: zell link or something like that asking for guests to
- 58:54Speaker 2: leave a tip or a cash contribution towards the birthday party.
- 59:00Speaker 2: And I posted it. I was like, what the heck
- 59:02Speaker 2: is going on right now? Yeah? Anybody seen this and
- 59:06Speaker 2: it's funny write in my messages. Alicia wrote us and said, Jeremy,
- 59:11Speaker 2: it's happened to me and I want to read you guys.
- 59:14Speaker 2: The message that she sent us. She says, my eight
- 59:17Speaker 2: year old was invited to one of her former classmates'
- 59:21Speaker 2: birthday parties and when I opened the invite, I honestly
- 59:24Speaker 2: thought it was a joke. It's this huge, over the
- 59:27Speaker 2: top party at one of those indoor adventure places. There's pizza,
- 59:30Speaker 2: a balloon, artist's face painting, a dessert table that looks
- 59:34Speaker 2: like it belongs at a wedding. She said. The whole
- 59:37Speaker 2: thing At the bottom of the invite, right underneath RSVP
- 59:42Speaker 2: was the mom's venmo QR code, with a note that said,
- 59:46Speaker 2: if you'd like to help offset the cost of this
- 59:49Speaker 2: special day, contributions are greatly appreciated. And then she just wrote,
- 59:54Speaker 2: excuse me, in all caps, I'm already buying your child
- 59:57Speaker 2: a birthday present. Now I'm supposed to venmo you well
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: because you decided to throw a party that you probably
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: can't afford. I did go ahead and text other moms
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: to see if I was overreacting, and some of them
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: admitted that they fired off twenty five bucks because they
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: didn't want to look cheap. I was always taught that
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: if you're hosting the party, you in all caps, pay
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: for the party. If you want to keep it simple, great.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: If you want to spend one thousand dollars on bounce
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: houses and custom cookies, that's your choice, but don't send
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: me the bill. Tell me am I being unreasonable or
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: has birthday party culture officially lost its damn mind?
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: It is a quote. Has it officially lost its damn mind?
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Dang?
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: I love you guys, love your topics. And that's from Alisha.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: And I wrote back, I said, Lisha, where you at?
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: She said, she's out in little Fun, So she's out
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: by me. So Alisha in Littleton got the whole QR
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: code on the birthday invite to chip in. I luckily
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: have not experienced this with my kids. I don't know
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: what I would do.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: You're just at the age where these parties starting to
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: be important though, that's the thing, especially with your younger,
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: with your young girl.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: My son's starting to get out of it.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, but girls are different. But the level
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: of expectance when it comes to a girls party, it
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: just keeps growing and growing and growing. And you know,
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: Manny petties for I mean, those are like one hundred
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: dollars for me. So when you add that to every
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: kid who's gonna and I give you a little bit
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: of a discount, but it.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Starts to add up. That's just the activity.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: My daughter was invited to one of those sleepovers where
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: it was like a where they like hire somebody to
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: come in and make it a bomb like settings and
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: stuff the tents over each individual sleeping area and the
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: snacks and it's a princess party and all that crap,
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: and you're like, oh my god, how much did this cost.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: It's a lot of money.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: It's like over one thousand dollars to get someone to
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: come in, depending on how many kids you have, But
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: it's expensive.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: If you are a parent listening right now and received
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: one of these, or you're thinking about like sending one
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: out call us three oh three six nine one one
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: mix three oh three six nine one sixteen forty nine,
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: or if you just want to sound off about like
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: what you would do in this situation. Yeah, if you
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: received one of these invites, I would love to talk
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: to you. Three oh three six nine one sixteen forty nine.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: Apparently we're not. Alicia's friend is not way off base
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: with this, because there was an actual story this weekend
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: all about it. The thing that caught my eye was
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: when she reached out to the other moms and they said, yeah,
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: we tossed. She said twenty five bucks or or something
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: like that. Within the message the guilt factor or you
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: didn't want to look cheap, so you just do it
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: anyway because you know that mom will be talking about
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: you if you don't chip in.
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: That's the part I don't especially if you're the only one.
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: Absolutely, And I think tipping in general always has that
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: air to it, right, like if you don't do it
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: like Kizz, you're almost being pressured into doing it or
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: you're gonna look it's like cheat your cheap, you know.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: So I don't like it.
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: I was looking into the parents' website parents dot com
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: because this whole thing is a trend now, and they're
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: saying that some of the reasoning behind it is if
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: you plan to bring your child and they plan to
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: eat and play, please send along cash with your kid
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: for the tip bucket to go towards party expenses. So
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: they're laying it out as to what the tips go towards.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: But I'm with you, if you're deciding to do all
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: that for your kids party, it should be on you
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: to pay for it.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Right right, Yeah right, I mean that's how it's always
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: been done.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: Yeah again, I don't know. And Hi Dean, welcome to
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: the show.
- 1:03:41Speaker 8: Hello, how are you well?
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: We're super dupes. What are your thoughts on this.
- 1:03:46Speaker 8: Absolutely not. If you don't have the funds to host
- 1:03:49Speaker 8: a party, don't even invite me. I mean that I
- 1:03:53Speaker 8: just can't do that, right.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: Oh, don't be such a cheap skate, Dean.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: Well, that's not that like party is like, sir, it is.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Come on, that's I agree with you, Dean.
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: I think that that's just asking a little too much
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: from people.
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: Let me play Devil's Advocate with you, Dean. Say you
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: got a family with a small kiddo and they've fallen
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: on some hard times and they can't afford a really
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: nice birthday for their kid. Isn't this a nice community
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: gesture to chip in twenty five bucks per person to
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: help you throw a party for your kid because you've
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: hit hard times.
- 1:04:24Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:04:25Speaker 9: Well, I mean sometimes we've all been in that situation
- 1:04:29Speaker 9: and I've gone through it, and hey, maybe we'll get
- 1:04:33Speaker 9: you on the next year.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: So you're still not going to do it? Come on, right,
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: here's the problem, Dean, is it's it's what it is.
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: Though.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: I mean, that's very nice to me to throw that
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: out there. I think, good job, Jirehi, But a lot
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: of these like yeah, it's very noble and very humble
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: of you, Jeremy. But Alicia is saying, the person that
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: sent this QR code out is doing one of these
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: huge places with one thousand dollars worth of desserts, and
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: it sounds like they can afford all the So that's
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: kind of when you're.
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: Like, what the heck?
- 1:05:04Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean if you're if you got that kind
- 1:05:06Speaker 9: of desserts out there, then you should be able to
- 1:05:08Speaker 9: cover the kids.
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: It's right. You know what My thing too is, Dean.
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: If I'm chipping in twenty five dollars there, damn well,
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: better be some to go containers there, because I'm taking
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: some of those cookies hard. Yeah, thank you so much.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: You take your money's worth exactly. Yeah, so funny. We
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: appreciate you listening and calling in, buddy. You have a
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: great Monday.
- 1:05:30Speaker 9: Yeah you too.
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: All right, bye bye.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: What do I feel like I can see maybe not
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: not doing something like this? Well my birthday?
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Hate I think you made a really good point in
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: the sunset.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: If somebody's not able to make that happen, If like
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: a community gets together and they're like, we want to
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: make this happen, you deserve a party like that. But
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: if it's just like you know, this has been a
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: hard year for you and your family. Maybe it's a
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: birthday at the park. Maybe you get a bit che Yes,
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: you go to the park.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: And you have a birthday there and try to do
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: your best to.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: Come and hang out on the slide, you know what
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: I mean, Like, maybe it's one of those birthday parties
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: this time around.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: I think part of this is like Venmo has just
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: kind of normalized asking for money.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: And tipping culture and tipping culture.
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: Everybody's got their hand out, and it just seems normal
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: now to throw my Venmo out there, give me money,
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: you know, because it's so easy now just to fire
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: money back and forth that you're kind of like, well,
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: why why not, you know, I'll ask for money.
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: I mean I have seen so many different instances. One
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: in particular, the graduation speaker had a whole billboard out
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: there about the Venmo and everything. If you'd like to
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: tip me for my graduations, No way, I'm not kidding,
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: like it happens.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: And I think that this is just another instance of
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: that getting out of control.
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: And I saw a few people write about how they're like,
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: if I have to tip for any kind of party,
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: I'm not bringing a gift, like if.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: I have to tip, you don't get a gift.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: Like, so I think people are gonna have to start
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: expecting that. Like if you want cash money for your primy,
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: maybe you don't get something.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: You should throw up a QR code on our Facebook
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: image and just say scan it if you want to
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: send us money. If you enjoy entertainment each and every morning.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: My final thought on this is again Devil's advocate. If
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: your kid is getting a day away, you get a
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: little piece and quiet. They're gonna go have a ton
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: of fun and when they get home, they're gonna be
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: so tired that they fall asleep. They've been fed. Isn't
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: it worth twenty five bucks?
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: Here's twenty five dollars. I get a mommy day again.
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: You have five kids in the group right, one of
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: them is having a birthday party today.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: It's on that mom to host those kids.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: When the other kid has a birthday party, now, the
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: onus is on that mom. Like that's how it works.
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: You trade responsibility when it is your kid's birthday. But
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: I don't think a tip is necessary. I think it's
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: going to it's doing.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: Too much jar You know what the bottom line is
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: I think I know the bottom line. What just don't
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: have kids? The ding sport That sound means it's time
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: for real quick makes one hundred sports up date. What
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: you got, Josh?
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: Yeah, Well, the Rockies played a baseball game yesterday and
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: it was a mid day game. They're trying to keep
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: their hot streak going as they got a couple wins
- 1:08:12Speaker 5: in a row here, but it was also recorded as
- 1:08:14Speaker 5: the second hottest first pitch temperature in Coors Field history.
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: It was officially ninety nine degrees, and they said yesterday
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: is at about four fifteen. It even reached up to
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: one hundred and three degrees. When you're out there playing baseball,
- 1:08:28Speaker 5: it feels like it's one hundred and ten degrees.
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: It is so flipping hot out there.
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: They did, however, get the win, so the Rockies hot
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: streak keeps going as well. We're going to keep it
- 1:08:38Speaker 5: right here with baseball and send us down to the miners.
- 1:08:41Speaker 5: Here as a baseball game was going on over the
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: weekend and the commentator was calling the game and he
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: sees a fly ball go out there and he says
- 1:08:49Speaker 5: it's going way way way back, and it actually ends
- 1:08:52Speaker 5: up leaving the stadium and listen to what he had
- 1:08:54Speaker 5: to say about it.
- 1:08:54Speaker 7: There's a high fly ball, please don't hit my truck
- 1:08:57Speaker 7: way back there, and it's gone. Well home run for
- 1:09:00Speaker 7: Compton is thirteenth of the year and it's one to nothing.
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: It was close.
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: It was close, Like I see my truck and I
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: see where.
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: It's almost hit the blue truck out there.
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: You know, first of all, laugh but that's scary.
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: I mean you're watching the ball go out there, You're like, oh, man,
- 1:09:15Speaker 5: I'm just a commentator.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: I don't know about there.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: You know, do you think his uh has to pay
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: for that? Does he just have to if it breaks
- 1:09:23Speaker 5: his window, that's all on him.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: Oh, his insurance covers up, know right, take care of that. Noah, No, absolutely.
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: Thinks it's funny though. One know there.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: Please, you thought you'd heard it all.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: Just think you've seen everything?
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: Not even close. Who's spiraling? Who's getting canceled? What's the
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: local buzz? What can we expect? We're diving headfirst into
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: the chaos.
- 1:09:53Speaker 6: It's the mile high height.
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: What's up?
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: What's up? What's up with jkj on mixed one hundred?
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: Well, the celebreakers go goofy rectangles. One hundred and fiftieth
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: birthday the Colorado Parks and Wildlife. They're saying that today
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: is a free day at all state parks. Get out
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: there and have some fun park Some park fees do
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: remain in effect, like camping and boating and hunting and fishing.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: What's your favorite state park?
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: Yeah, Chaffie Lemon Mine's Rifle Falls.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: There's three waterfalls coming out that mountain.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: Whoa what we got a gusher?
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: We have a lot of.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: And if you're a National Guard member active due to
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: duty military, you get the entire month free. Yeah, courtesy
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: of the Colorado Parks and.
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: Thank you for your service.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: Very nice. Be careful while you're out there, though, because
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: it's going to be a trip ditch day.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: Brot.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: We got them trip diges today and they say the
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: amount of heat related illnesses this summer in Colorado, the
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: roof thy rockety. It was the second hottest July on record.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: I feel like there's been a few days where I've
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: gotten kind.
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: Of heat exhaustion, heavy sweating.
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: Yeah, well it's no no, no, no no.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: While I was out the sun, confusion, well, typical nausea, dizziness, symptoms.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: I just weakness and headache period.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: He also, yes, like I think that I may have
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: suffered from it. It was hot in.
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: July, like like I like the sun. I love to
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: be out there just basking in it. But man, it
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: was hard to lay in my hammock A few times.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: I was outside yesterday just trimming trees and mowing the
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: lawn and doing the whole thing and all that, and
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: I was at one point I was like, I need
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: some water. I need so much water. Right, I was dripping.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: I'm straight dripping. Bro anyway, trip ditch today? What else
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: is going on?
- 1:11:59Speaker 7: CA?
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: Okay, So our field may be turned into a park
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: if one local resident has his way.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: Josh Rose in Bloom.
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: He says he wants the area to be a place
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: people can enjoy for generations to come. As we know
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: the Broncos are look looking at wrapping up their time
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: there and moving on to the new stadium.
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: Who's this guy.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: He's just a local resident. He's just some guy who
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: lives there in the area. And he was like, when
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: you guys are done using this.
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: I knew you'd like it, Josh, but he said, when
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: you guys are done using it for the broncos he
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: really wants to make it into a park versus the
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: buildings and all the you know, downtown stuff that.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Is already there. He wants to make it.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: Into something better.
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: You know what they've they've got just the makings of
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: it going now. So you've got a petition you're going
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: to put in the general woman exactly.
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: Suggestion box Teeter totter.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: Absolutely, but could.
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: Question when's the last time you were on a Teeter totter?
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: Just this last week?
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: You have my friends, Yeah, it must just be the
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: thing to do.
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: I don't know, they.
- 1:13:01Speaker 5: Haven't been Denver Pilot Totters.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: Are fun.
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: At the top, and then you get a ridiculous right,
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: and then if you really want to be a jerk,
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: you get off and make them fall on the ground.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: Do that, yeah, Teter Totter drama. Okay, So then Josh here.
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: He told the local news stations that for fans to
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: be able to come back and have concrete boxes and
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: show their kids and grandkids that that's not fun. He
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: wants a great space with great memories and hopefully plaques.
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: Is that what he calls buildings commemorating Yeah? Boxes yet, well,
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: I mean buildings He's right.
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: Like when it comes to like looking at something and
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: like remembering it and appreciating it.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: I don't do that with the.
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: Buildings Custard, Yeah, I don't do that, but I do
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: that with nature. And so he has a whole petition
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: going and everything to turn in power field into a
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: park versus concrete buildings. And you can go sign that
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: to a petition mile high park. I've also got this
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: new list about Denver Metro amongst the worst drivers in
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: the country, I mean top thirty alone. There are a
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: total of three cities in and around the Denver metro area,
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: and then another one on the list farther south. Pueblo
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: scored the highest on this number thirteen. Apparently they drive
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: like crazy in Pueblo. Lakewood at number nineteen, and then
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: Thornton and Greeley twenty three and twenty seven. But Memphis
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: was no longer the city with the worst drivers. They
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: were for three years in a row, but now that
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: goes to water Berry, Connecticut. And then one more story,
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: just a driveless samboni. We've got one here in the
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: Denver metro and no one else in the Western hemisphere does.
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: Weston Woodward. He is the ice supervisor with South Suburban
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: Parks and rec And he's got that new autotonomous samboni
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: at the Family Sports Center in Centennial. So if you're
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: there and you see a zamboni without a driver and it,
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: do not be alarmed. It's not going to crash into
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: the boards. It's gonna be just fine. But it's kind
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: of neat, just the entire science behind it. And it
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: costs like one hundred thousand dollars, So just go out
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: there to see it.
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: It is quite impressive. A driver list zamboni right here
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: in the no Bloni. There's my high hype here.
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: She's got the mic, the mocksie, and a brand full
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: of Doctor Phil reruns.
- 1:15:20Speaker 4: She's on me like a dust on a gym bug.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: But can you take down Katie in pop culture?
- 1:15:25Speaker 4: SmackDown?
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: This is Katie Crush? That is a big question.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: Can you get it done?
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: Kevin is up to the challenge today. What's up, k Dog?
- 1:15:37Speaker 8: Hey, I'm doing excellent, Thank.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: You good Boddy. Tell us a little bit about yourself, Kevin.
- 1:15:44Speaker 8: I have a business that makes breakfast burritos for local
- 1:15:48Speaker 8: coffee shops, and I'm out just picking up supplies and
- 1:15:52Speaker 8: dropping them off, and.
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: Why haven't you brought us a fat stack of breakfast burritos? Ever,
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: that's the question.
- 1:15:58Speaker 8: Yeah, I don't know what the studio is.
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: Well, we'll let you find out. We will let you know,
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: Kevin right there. So I'm guessing you make different varieties
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: of burritos.
- 1:16:12Speaker 8: Your standard like terreso, green chili, stuff like that.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: Which one is your best one? Your biggest seller, the
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: green chili one? Absolutely Colorado. I like your business, Kevin.
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: How do I make a business like this?
- 1:16:30Speaker 8: And I kind of sell into it but it keeps
- 1:16:33Speaker 8: so busy.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: Good for you falling into burritos. I want to fall
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: into a bed made of burritos.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: Fall into bacon.
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: Well, good for you out there hustling, Kevin. We appreciate
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: you calling in, buddy. I'm gonna give you and Katie
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: the same five pop culture trivia questions, best out of
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: five wins. Ties go to Katie because she's a diva
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: monster that made up the rules. Anything you want to
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: say to barrit he no, boy, you.
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: Just made me hungry now, So I hope you can
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: deliver the pop trivia knowledge like your burrito's over there, Kevin, let's.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: Go, huh.
- 1:17:07Speaker 8: I'll do my best. You're you're pretty good at this.
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: Well, you're right, she's hungry for a wind. I am
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: hungry for yes, all right, Kevin, she is going to
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: get out of this studio and go into a room
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: where she can't hear anything. I come up with the questions,
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: so there's no cheating, and we'll find out if you
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: are right or wrong once we bring her back in.
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: So looks like she's in there. Let's get it on.
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: What fast food restaurant quote supersized their meals starting in
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: the nineties.
- 1:17:39Speaker 8: McDonald's.
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: Your second question in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, what
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: is the name of the prince that turns into the Beast?
- 1:17:51Speaker 8: I can't remember. I'm too old, all right, I'm just.
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: Right too old. Next to that one, your third question,
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: which country singer started out one of her mega hit
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: songs with the lyric Let's Go.
- 1:18:07Speaker 8: Girls, Shania Twain winging it up?
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: Your fourth question for Katie Crush, Please tell me what
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: soft drink boasts that it's made from twenty three flavors.
- 1:18:27Speaker 10: Doctor pepper, doctor pepper baby, And your final question, the accent,
- 1:18:34Speaker 10: the Santa Fe and the palisade are all car models
- 1:18:38Speaker 10: by what company.
- 1:18:41Speaker 8: Hyundai?
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: All right, let's get Katie capped back in here. She's
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: gonna work her way back in Kevin. Is your car
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: just full of burritos right now? Kevin?
- 1:18:52Speaker 8: Yeah, I've got like eighty pounds of potatoes.
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: That's awesome. Is car is like low riding it?
- 1:19:03Speaker 6: All right?
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: Katie? You ready to ready?
- 1:19:06Speaker 6: All right?
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: I will say Kevin did pretty durn good, Katie. What
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: fast food restaurant quote supersized their meals starting back.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: In the nineties, Well, I was McDonald.
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: Kevin got that one too, Kevin. In Disney's Beauty and
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: the Beast, what is the name of the prince that
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: later turns into the Beast?
