- 0:00Speaker 1: Sir here at the pets shelter, do you have one
- 0:01Speaker 1: of those cards like after I get five the six
- 0:04Speaker 1: ones free, do you have something like that? It's one
- 0:06Speaker 1: more thing.
- 0:08Speaker 2: I'm strong and getty. One more thing that.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Was intentionally tasteless.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Okay, well well done, you aimed, you fired, you hit
- 0:19Speaker 2: the bull's eye, tasteless, nailed it.
- 0:21Speaker 1: So do I understand? We're going to have follow up
- 0:23Speaker 1: on a conversation I started on the radio the other day,
- 0:26Speaker 1: and I can reset the premise here. It's really an
- 0:30Speaker 1: ethical thing that I don't I don't think you can
- 0:33Speaker 1: argue me out of being correct, even though nobody would
- 0:36Speaker 1: actually do it. But it's about pets and people's loves
- 0:42Speaker 1: for pets. The shelters across America are full of pets,
- 0:49Speaker 1: great cats and dogs that would love a home and
- 0:53Speaker 1: you know the next one to twelve years of their
- 0:55Speaker 1: life of being loved and being your pet. But there
- 0:57Speaker 1: are enough people to take them all in and they're
- 1:00Speaker 1: going to be put to death. You have a pet already,
- 1:05Speaker 1: so what would be the problem with like change them
- 1:11Speaker 1: out on a regular basis. You have a dog you like,
- 1:13Speaker 1: but you're gonna go on vacation rather than put it
- 1:15Speaker 1: in this shelter or you know, getting a dog walker
- 1:17Speaker 1: or whatever. You're gonna do a great expense. You take
- 1:21Speaker 1: your dog, you put it to sleep, and when you
- 1:22Speaker 1: come back from vacation, you go get a new dog.
- 1:26Speaker 1: That dog wants love too, that dog wants so much. Yeah,
- 1:32Speaker 1: I know, you're actually making two dogs lives great or many,
- 1:36Speaker 1: depending on how often you go on vacations.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Where the bonus card comes into play.
- 1:42Speaker 1: That's where Yeah, after the fifth one is the sixth
- 1:44Speaker 1: one free?
- 1:46Speaker 2: Good lord? Is this not helping anything?
- 1:50Speaker 1: No, it's not. Well, the only argument against it is
- 1:53Speaker 1: the whole you get attached to it. It gets attached
- 1:55Speaker 1: to you. It's a member of your family thing, right.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the whole argument.
- 1:58Speaker 1: That's a big.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Argument point you monster. I'm sorry that was too much.
- 2:05Speaker 3: If you adopt a dog, you get a dog. It's
- 2:06Speaker 3: a member of the family. And that's just the way
- 2:08Speaker 3: that it is.
- 2:10Speaker 2: So I want to get into some of the actual
- 2:12Speaker 2: arguments against what the Monster Jack has proposed here, But
- 2:18Speaker 2: first some reactions that we received via various social media
- 2:22Speaker 2: and I'll listening to our four Friday's podcast where Jack
- 2:26Speaker 2: argues the killing your sick dog before going on vacation
- 2:29Speaker 2: getting into it. No, not a sick dog, a perfectly
- 2:31Speaker 2: healthy dog. It's far worse than you thought. Try Troy,
- 2:35Speaker 2: blah bah bah makes good sense, lmao. The reactions from
- 2:40Speaker 2: Katie are hilarious. Jack may be a Canis path or
- 2:46Speaker 2: a Cannis path. It's like a well, it's a psychopath
- 2:53Speaker 2: re dogs.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sure I'm not.
- 2:56Speaker 2: You have no attachment or compassion toward dogs like a psychopath.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I make the argument that it is compassionate to take
- 3:03Speaker 1: that dog that's going to be put to sleep at
- 3:05Speaker 1: the pound and give it a good life for until
- 3:08Speaker 1: your next vacation.
- 3:10Speaker 2: But you've said enough, murderer. Can I go on with
- 3:12Speaker 2: the comments here? Yeah? Yes? Debbie writes, Omfg, Jack is
- 3:16Speaker 2: officially a sick, heartless f talking about the dog situation.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I'm going to give this dog who's going to be
- 3:21Speaker 1: put to sleep like tomorrow, a great life until my
- 3:25Speaker 1: brother's wedding fourth of July because I'm going to be
- 3:27Speaker 1: out of town.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Sheila writes. He's really off the rails this fry. Yay, Rebecca, Yeah,
- 3:35Speaker 2: those are not the thoughts you say out loud, man, Robert,
- 3:39Speaker 2: what the hell was that shit, Christy. I don't think
- 3:44Speaker 2: he was serious, but it's a weird thing to say.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Katie Green definitely spoke up Celestino. He wanted to cook
- 3:52Speaker 2: the dog.
- 3:53Speaker 1: WHOA, I don't know any dogs. You have voices in your.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Hand not killing them or not cooking them, or just
- 4:01Speaker 3: killing them. That's what that's what we're doing.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Debbie Rights, I thought it was killing dogs. That's really
- 4:08Speaker 1: the point is they're already killing dogs. Lots of really
- 4:10Speaker 1: good go to the pound today. It's full of cute
- 4:13Speaker 1: dogs that nobody's going to adopt, that are going to
- 4:15Speaker 1: be killed.
- 4:16Speaker 2: They're killing the dogs, they're killing the cats, They're killing
- 4:22Speaker 2: the pets of the people who live here.
- 4:25Speaker 3: They're eating the dogs the people that nobody there.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Nobody's proposing.
- 4:35Speaker 1: And again not to get over, but whoever noticed that
- 4:38Speaker 1: Trump's rhythm fit Schroeder's music? Shed get a Nobel prize
- 4:42Speaker 1: up some sort like a special category.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Boy, let's see. Uh there's another comment. Would a dog
- 4:50Speaker 2: forfers sitting in a shelter for a few years then
- 4:52Speaker 2: be put down? Or a live fun, happy life for
- 4:54Speaker 2: a year or so then put down? All right? So
- 4:57Speaker 2: she's with you, Susette, not sticky for Jack, but he
- 5:00Speaker 2: worked in cattle feed lots when he was young and
- 5:02Speaker 2: on farms, and people that experience stuff like that think
- 5:05Speaker 2: about animals differently.
- 5:06Speaker 1: That fits in with the whole Christy Gnome South Dakota
- 5:10Speaker 1: dog thing. There is a slightly different view.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Yeah, Aaron writes, he's not wrong. Annette says he said
- 5:18Speaker 2: it to make people realize the tragedy of how many
- 5:20Speaker 2: pets are constantly dumped at the shelter as disposable. That's
- 5:23Speaker 2: the major problem that needs to be resolved. Reading honorable
- 5:29Speaker 2: intent into your monstrous words.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I think there is I don't know what you would
- 5:33Speaker 1: do about it, or you know, what are you supposed
- 5:35Speaker 1: to do, But there is a certain amount of ignoring
- 5:37Speaker 1: the fact that we have millions of puppies and kittens
- 5:41Speaker 1: that get put to sleep all.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I think people have to keep that realization at arm's lengths,
- 5:45Speaker 2: otherwise it would make them too sad or something.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Right, And what do I want people to be sad
- 5:49Speaker 1: all day every day? No?
- 5:49Speaker 2: Yeah, monster, Catherine, I just hope Katie Green sticks around
- 5:54Speaker 2: a freaking love her and I've been listening since the
- 5:56Speaker 2: dominic days. Never forget that's Jack's reminded me of something
- 6:01Speaker 2: Dominic might have said.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Whoa, that's in the dominant category.
- 6:08Speaker 1: You're a better person than Dominic, Katie. Congratulations, well for you, Jack.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Yeah. Somebody made a comment by email that.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I didn't molest Corey Haim. I guarantee you that, oh.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Oh congratulations, Yeah yeah, or any other children. Yeah, yeah,
- 6:28Speaker 2: no kidding allegedly allegedly exactly. He's not here to uh
- 6:32Speaker 2: defend himself because he's in hell. So uh, we got
- 6:36Speaker 2: an email from somebody putting out I think you guys
- 6:38Speaker 2: are forgetting the complexity of and and we're talking dogs here.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Cats are a different ride to take. But the many
- 6:48Speaker 2: facets of a dog's personality and your personalities and lifestyles
- 6:52Speaker 2: and potty training and everything that hashed the mesh to
- 6:55Speaker 2: have a good relationship. And sometimes it works, but often
- 6:58Speaker 2: it doesn't very well. So you might be going from
- 7:01Speaker 2: a fabulous dog that brings you nothing but joy. It's
- 7:05Speaker 2: a responsibility blah blah blah, but you bond to a
- 7:09Speaker 2: psycho dog that craps all over the place.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I've known people who do the opposite, though. You have
- 7:16Speaker 1: a psychodog who craps all over the place and you
- 7:18Speaker 1: ride that out to the end because of the whole
- 7:20Speaker 1: view of it's a family member as opposed to that
- 7:23Speaker 1: really nice dog that's not a psycho dog, that's not
- 7:25Speaker 1: going to crap in your house, that's gonna get put
- 7:27Speaker 1: to sleep Friday if somebody doesn't adopt it.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that is an interesting question as well. It's
- 7:36Speaker 2: then you'd almost have to get into angels dancing on
- 7:38Speaker 2: heads of pins, say territory in discussing sins of commission
- 7:43Speaker 2: versus o mission and the value of a soul and
- 7:47Speaker 2: the value of a dog soul? Does a dog have
- 7:49Speaker 2: a soul?
- 7:50Speaker 1: I don't know how many people have ever been to
- 7:52Speaker 1: a kill shelter. Lots of people have been to an SPCA,
- 7:57Speaker 1: but those are no kill shelters like your pound where
- 8:00Speaker 1: they're gonna put him down. That's where I got my dog, Boguard,
- 8:03Speaker 1: who I had for a dozen years. At that pound.
- 8:06Speaker 1: He was gonna be put to sleep that Friday. I
- 8:08Speaker 1: think I got him on like a Tuesday for my birthday,
- 8:12Speaker 1: and he was a fabulous dog. But man is rough
- 8:14Speaker 1: walking through there and thinking about the decision I was making. Well,
- 8:18Speaker 1: you're cute, so are you? You're You're smiling at me,
- 8:20Speaker 1: wagging your tail. So are you one of you is
- 8:22Speaker 1: gonna be dead in a couple of days, one of
- 8:23Speaker 1: you am gonna take home. I mean, that's a tough reality.
- 8:26Speaker 2: And you start thinking, well, two dogs would be fun,
- 8:29Speaker 2: and yeah, that's how you drive home with a fulse
- 8:31Speaker 2: wagon full of dogs. Yeah. Yeah, I don't recommend Jack's plan,
- 8:39Speaker 2: but it was a it was a thought starter.
- 8:42Speaker 1: That was the conversation. Well, maybe the takeaway should be uh,
- 8:47Speaker 1: neuter and spaey your pets so that they don't have
- 8:49Speaker 1: a whole bunch of puppies or kittens that nobody's going
- 8:51Speaker 1: to claim. And please don't go with that hole. We're
- 8:54Speaker 1: gonna have puppies and we'll sell them or whatever there
- 8:58Speaker 1: unless you got some really specific hot brand currently with papers.
- 9:04Speaker 1: No they're not. You're not gonna have eight beagle husky
- 9:12Speaker 1: crosses that are adorable that everybody wants to adopt. It
- 9:15Speaker 1: just thinking about hegels are the best. They don't shed
- 9:18Speaker 1: and they bark constantly. I like buskies.
- 9:21Speaker 2: But whatever, Labrski Deedles funniest podcast ever.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Good Night. No, Well, I guess that's it.
