Jack Packs His Bags: New York or Bust
Aired: Apr 3rd, 1949. Jack's off to New York to emcee an American Heart Association benefit at the Copa Cabana, but not before Mary and Rochester turn his packing session into a minefield of jokes about baggage fees, vaudeville flops, and a long-lost pigeon named Natalie. Dennis Day drops by with a tale about his uncle, an executed-then-rehired hotel detective, before wandering off to rehearse a song. Vintage Benny at his stingiest and vainest, with the whole gang riffing on air travel, nightclub nostalgia, and Jack's questionable past as a Ceros waiter.
