- 0:03This is a Bramble Jam podcast this week on Yo Gabble Gabble. If you
- 0:14see your boyfriend to get your stuff back and he sues you back for literally
- 0:17no reason at all, it'll be good when he has Judged Judy on his
- 0:20side to kill feminism. And if you accidentally tap into someone's car, can
- 0:26he permanently be put onto a scooter? Judge you know, scoots his way
- 0:31into justice real people cases? Wait justice? This is your gabble gabble.
- 0:40Boy, it sounds like we got a couple doozzies to Dutch a fifteen year
- 0:46old Judge Judy, and nothing makes me I really want to be clear here.
- 0:51This episode is fifteen years old. That's right. She she is not.
- 0:55She hasn't been fifteen years old, and this episode is from fifteen years
- 1:00I wanted to murder Judge Duty. She's not my homegirl. Oh no,
- 1:04I wanted to murder. Would you burn the shirt? If you I would
- 1:07burn it? Yes, brutal. Did you not know that Judge Judy is
- 1:11the worst kind of I know that in her old age she's gotten very,
- 1:15very conservative, but I've always thought that in the courtroom she was still just
- 1:22Justice isn't a foreign concept, like it's not about conservative or liberal. Brand's
- 1:26about doing for right exactly right, but apparently not. I got a judge,
- 1:30gino, and there's security footage, and we got two good ones.
- 1:36You want to flip a coin on it? Okay, let's look on heads.
- 1:40It is heads. Whoh So did I get to go first? You
- 1:44get to choose? I'll go first? Okay? Good. I want to
- 1:47introduce you to Scott Galloway. Scott Galloway is suing Denise Murphy. This is
- 1:52personal injury court, by the way, Yes, so big money is Scott
- 1:56Galloway's suing who Denise Murphy? Murphy for sixty thousd for medical, forty K
- 2:00for future medical expensive, thirty K for lost of income, and two hundred
- 2:05and fifty thousand for pana stuff, or a total of three eighty. So
- 2:08you said the numbers you said added up to for eighty No, you said
- 2:15two hundred and fifty thousand for painting so high? Yep? Okay, that's
- 2:21wrong. Sixty plus forty K plus thirty k right? Three? Two?
- 2:24I'm wrong, My masth terrible. It's on you, is it's on me?
- 2:28It's it's on me. You said it's on you. How is it
- 2:30possibly on me? It's on me, Okay, it's on me. Denise
- 2:36Bury U Scott Galloway is like a van driver, a shuttle driver, like
- 2:42a van driver one. So he'll take groups of people to places. Yeah,
- 2:46as you will. And one morning he drops off a group at the
- 2:51airport and the tummy starts to growl. So he's hungry, so he goes
- 2:55to his favorite diner, parks the van, goes side, gets himself a
- 3:00burger, some fries, a drink, comes back to the van. He's
- 3:04going to eat it in the van and then go, you know, do
- 3:07his next pickup and next pick up and drop off. So he's eating his
- 3:14food and then some things start to happen. I want to introduce you to
- 3:19Denise Murphy. Denise is a full time student, a single mom and works
- 3:23at the diner when she can to make ends meet. She's doing it working
- 3:29as a as a waitress at a cocktail bar. Exactly, that's exactly right,
- 3:31that's exactly what she's doing. And that day was her first her daughter's
- 3:38first recital, and she had asked for it off her boss forgot kind of
- 3:46crossed the wires. Put her on. So she shows up. The coworkers
- 3:50came and clutched. They said, you know what, we got you covered.
- 3:53We got you covered. So she leaves and she's not running late,
- 3:58but she's not running early. She's trying. She's still trying to be speaks.
- 4:00So she she backs out and she notices tap tap to a cary.
- 4:05And but Scott, Scott is a version of this is a little bit different.
- 4:12So Scott is about to take a bite out of his burger. Yeah,
- 4:15and something hits the back of the van. He says, his neck
- 4:19goes forward, bangs back, and his burger fell out of his hand.
- 4:26Oh no, yep, it's three and eighty thousand dollars burgers exactly. That's
- 4:30exactly right. And he says that. She comes and says, sorry for
- 4:33hitting you. So she she says, yes, I'm sorry that I did
- 4:39this. Now Denise says, here's what happened. I was close on time,
- 4:44as I was pulling out, I barely tapped his van and and so
- 4:48yes, I did go and say hey, I hit you, But it
- 4:53was not like he was still leading burger. Yes, and he said I
- 4:57was noddyting my burger, wasn't They talk a about this burger a lot.
- 5:02It's not me bringing this back up. Do we have any Do we know
- 5:06where the burger came from? The diner? Okay, we don't know the
- 5:10name of it, just a local, he says. He says, I
- 5:13was gonna go get something at the restaurant. That's what he says. And
- 5:16they show a picture of a place that just says diner. So none of
- 5:20those details are helpful anyways. So he then has next to him this board
- 5:28of a parking lot, like an overhead with some cars that you can move
- 5:30around. He wanted to show, yes, Scott does. Scott wants to
- 5:35show. Scott wants to show where he was, where she was, how
- 5:40it happened, So you got the van. It goes to think of an
- 5:43overhead shot of a parking lot. Scott in the middle, and then right
- 5:47across also middle is is Denise, and Denise backs out, and in the
- 5:55process of backing out, he says, she accelerated quickly, banged him his
- 6:00van, then moved forward a little. Okay, got it. But this
- 6:05the the neck. What happened to the neck? Well, he's in the
- 6:11brace. Okay, we'll get to it in just a second. She says
- 6:15he's exaggerating or exaggerating. I barely tapped it. There were no marks.
- 6:21And she says that I even tapped on his car and said, hey,
- 6:26I hit you, and he seems surprised by it. Burger's still in hand,
- 6:32a lot of burger talk, a lot of burger talks. Uh,
- 6:34and Scott Scott says, no, no, no, my burger was on
- 6:40the floor. Didn't get to eat the burger man. Denise then shows Scott's
- 6:46a little pissed off he didn't get to eat that burger. Gets to ride
- 6:50here, you know how it is, We've all been there. Denise then
- 6:54shows pictures of both of the vehicles and there's not a scratch or a dent
- 6:59on either vehicle, and Gino says it is important to note that just because
- 7:03there's no apparent property damage on the outside, that doesn't mean that there couldn't
- 7:09have been some sort of injury inside. It's not necessarily a one to one.
- 7:13But do we have footage. We're gonna get to some footage and just
- 7:16a look. Okay, okay, So Scott says, you know, I
- 7:21left, I went home, and about five hour isshes later, my nex
- 7:27starts to hurt and I start to not be able to move it from side
- 7:30to side without some sharp pain. The next morning I couldn't even get out
- 7:32of bed. So my girlfriend Gigi says, hey, you should go to
- 7:38the chiropractor. So he goes to the chiropractor and the chiropractor gets some X
- 7:42rays done and an MRI, which I've never been to a chiropractice. That's
- 7:46a that's a full blown doctor, boy. But anyways, he says that
- 7:49the test revealed that he has several bulging discs and one might have ruptured in
- 7:55the neck, multiple ruptured discs in his lower back, and uh, his
- 8:00ankle is out of place. Okay, so all of this, say so
- 8:03doc, Yes, Denise is like, that doesn't make sense. I barely
- 8:07hit him. Yeah, And he says, I have the report with me,
- 8:13the meticorpor did the chiropractor do anything to him work on his back at
- 8:16all? I don't know what has been I mean some sort of stuff has
- 8:18been done, because he's suing for sixty thousand for medical and forty thousand for
- 8:24future, so something has been done, but we don't know what that is.
- 8:26But he has a brace on of sorts and he gives him the report,
- 8:33and the report is pretty damning. It basically says there are elements of
- 8:37him that without surgery, he'll never be back to wowl essentially. So then
- 8:43he says, Judge, you know, I want I made have had a
- 8:46video made up of what my neck looked like in the accident, like a
- 8:54mock up animation, an animation. So he gets on it is a little
- 9:00scooter. Yeah, scoots his way over. He's taking his taking his time.
- 9:03Denise is not having it that He's is like, this doesn't make sense.
- 9:07This is ridiculous. He's overreacting. So we see the video, you
- 9:11know, side side shot skeleton with the with the neck, the spine,
- 9:18if you will, and you see it go forward back exactly how you would
- 9:20imagine whiplash looking like. So then he gets back on his scooter. Uh
- 9:28slowly, Uh slowly goes goes on back now while scooting back, Denise is
- 9:33like, I don't understand how a tap could do this and is continuing to
- 9:37just be like it doesn't make sense. Things aren't adding up. Yeah,
- 9:39and Scott says, listen, I don't even know if my girlfriend Gigi's gonna
- 9:43stay with me. Oh boy, Gigi's thinking about leaving. I mean,
- 9:48look at me, look at me, no burger, no neck, And
- 9:52Gina says where is she today? And He's like, she's supposed to be
- 9:56here. She dropped me off. I don't know where she is now.
- 10:01And Denise dropped him off for court and then just was like deuces. Denise
- 10:05says, I I saw them walking in and he was barely using the scooter.
- 10:11Oh boy. And that's when Judge Gino says, luckily we have security
- 10:18cameras all around this courtroom. Oh so I'm gonna take a recess, no,
- 10:24and I'm going to examine the security footage and I'll come back and I'll
- 10:28let you guys know what. Does he look scared when you see when he
- 10:31when Gina says that he's he's just kind of like, no, he doesn't
- 10:35seem to concerned. I'm just gonna go in because there's no reason to ask
- 10:39you what you think is going to happen. So uh. He comes back
- 10:43out from recess wonderful time, slides the swing in some videos and he shows
- 10:50two videos. The first video is Gigi helping him get out of the car.
- 10:54He's in his brace, he's on his scooters, tried slowly getting on
- 10:56a scooter. Sow was scooting away and Scott's like, see cee cee cee.
- 11:03And then Gina says, we got one more video of the stairwell and
- 11:07of the stairwell, and Scott says, I don't know what you're talking about,
- 11:11and he shows the video and they get into this stairway corridor area like
- 11:18of a parking garage, and he once they get into the doorway, he
- 11:24takes off his his neck brace, hands at the Gigi, picks up his
- 11:28scooter, walks up the stairs and these is like say, say and shut.
- 11:35Gino's like, we don't have time for frosters or slimy people in this
- 11:41courtroom. You wasted my time, you wasted Denise's time. You take your
- 11:46scooter and you get out of here. He leaves his scooter behind and just
- 11:50walks right out. No, and sut Gino's ready to rule. We don't
- 11:56need to do that. Zero dollars, that's exactly right. Full. So
- 12:00that's unbelievable, right, unbelievable. I didn't see it coming, brand No,
- 12:05no one did. Why. I bet he ain't his burger, I
- 12:09bet he did. I bet he did eat his burger. Unbelieve anybody who's
- 12:13got a burger that much as evidence. Doctor, I don't know. For
- 12:16him, I don't know. That's a great question. Whoots. Yeah,
- 12:18that used to be. It was probably like, hey, i'll give you
- 12:22a kickback from the shim we call insurance fraud, something like, well,
- 12:26if you think Scott's a bad person to Judge Judy, I don't know.
- 12:30Can it get worse than this? This poor well you know, single mom.
- 12:35Judge Judy is going to come out in favor of domestic abuse. Oh
- 12:39no, no, yeah, oh man ready for this? And this is
- 12:48not the time, like this is such a serious issue and Judge Judy is
- 12:52going to ream out a woman. It is brutal. Let me introduce to
- 13:00April Harrington. And I want to be clear. I wouldn't no numbers.
- 13:05We don't get any numbers on who's suing what for how much? Not because
- 13:09it's Judge Judy. She plays by our own rules. This was two thousand
- 13:13Campril Harrington is suing a fellow. She's suing Fred. What's Fred's last name?
- 13:18Bad man? No, No it's not. Fred's last name is bad
- 13:24I don't think that bad man, bad man, his name's bad man,
- 13:28and she's suing him for selling her belongings, and he is counter suing her
- 13:35for stealing his belongings. All right, let's get into it. April says,
- 13:39we lived together. I mean we were dating. We wanted to live
- 13:43together. We each had dogs and my apartment only allowed for one dog in
- 13:48my place, and so he begged me to move in with him, so
- 13:52to which I did. I moved in with So was the original plan for
- 13:56him to move in with her. They wanted to live together and she wanted
- 13:58him to move This was the only way to happen. I moved in late
- 14:03May. I put some of my stuff in storage. Storage unit was in
- 14:07Fred's name, but I paid for the storage, got receipts paid for it.
- 14:11Ever, it was a storage unit in Fred's name. I don't know
- 14:13why. We never get to the bottom of that. In the storage shit
- 14:16her bed frame, mattress, dressers, glass, mirror, and then toys
- 14:22from childhood, including a bear collection she had from when she was a kid,
- 14:24her diploma, important tax information, so everything aside from clothes. Essentially
- 14:30there were clothes as well, okay, so and plates. Yes. Two
- 14:35months later they got into a falling out and they separated. Why do they
- 14:39separate? Well, I found out he had been cheating on me with her
- 14:45and he points She points to a woman in the courtroom who never stands up
- 14:48that we see her, and she's she's not just like in the audience,
- 14:50right, what are you talking about? I found out he had been cheating
- 15:01on me with her, and that is his baby's mother. Okay, And
- 15:05in fact, he had the child before we started dating, and we at
- 15:09one point were going to court to get custody of the kid over her.
- 15:13And so I had already started plans on being a stepmom, like, had
- 15:16bought gifts for the kid, and like, had tried, you know whatever.
- 15:20And then I found out he was cheating on me when I came home
- 15:24from work early. We then at this point Fred's cheating. Fred Badman is
- 15:31cheating. We flash over Fred, who has a smile on his face.
- 15:33Sure, smile back to April. I come in and question him, like,
- 15:41how can you be doing this? Why are you cheating on me?
- 15:43Blah blah blah. He shoves me into a dresser, he dislocates my finger,
- 15:50and I called the police. The police told him he should leave the
- 15:54apartment for three days while I got my stuff together during that time. The
- 15:58next day they had a different lock on the door. He busted the lock
- 16:03of the door, busted in to the apartment. Anyway, I moved out
- 16:07immediately. The cops put a different lock on the door. I guess I
- 16:11didn't feel safe. I left immediately, took all the things in the house
- 16:15that I could, but what didn't have time to go to the storage.
- 16:18Shit. The only thing I took that it belongs to him. Are some
- 16:22pornography tapes. Now, she says this and stops, and Judy's like,
- 16:27well, why did you take those? And she says they were buried in
- 16:30a box of my movies. This is two thousand and five box of my
- 16:33movies. And I felt too embarrassed to bring them back and they were disgusting,
- 16:37so I just threw them away. That's what she said, But she
- 16:40admits she did take those. I don't know why that's important to the story,
- 16:42but she brings it up. Are the pornograph of them? I don't
- 16:45know. It's just it's just on vhs, from what I understand, which
- 16:51she kept underneath all of her VHL. Yeah, where he she wouldn't find
- 16:55them. I don't know. I had nothing actually discovered that one day,
- 16:57She says, I don't go down the VS in the what's this? I
- 17:03moved out and then a couple days later I went to storage to get my
- 17:06stuff. Had the key, I've been paid for it. The storage the
- 17:10locks had been changed, was changed. I don't have the ability to get
- 17:14in to get my stuff. Judy says, all right, let's hear from
- 17:15you. So Fred starts in, Okay, when we broke up, she
- 17:19was accusing me of cheating. I never admitted that I was cheating. I
- 17:22remained friends with her, this girl, because we have a child together.
- 17:27That's why our main friends. And then she told the police that like I
- 17:30beat her up or whatever, but she didn't file a police report or anything.
- 17:37Is that true? The police have a report of the incident, but
- 17:38she did not refile any charges. Sure, okay, Judy says, uh.
- 17:45She has April's complaint and she reads from it and says, April says,
- 17:51I came home from work to talk to Fred. He was sleeping.
- 17:55She said, so you woke him up. She says, yes, I
- 17:59woke him up. And she said, okay, Uh, well, you
- 18:06woke up a guy, and you think that he dislocated and broke your finger.
- 18:11I don't think so that didn't happen. I don't think it happened.
- 18:15I'm sure you. I'm sure your finger got broken or dislocated. I don't
- 18:18think he did it. What does him being asleep have to do with any
- 18:21of that? Just wait, April goes judge. He admits he broke the
- 18:26finger in the report. So then she goes back to the report. She
- 18:32goes. She goes to Fred. Fred says, I she continued to poke
- 18:36me over and over again, to talk about this poke me, poked me.
- 18:40She was punching the walls, and so finally I wanted to leave me
- 18:42alone. I turned around, I squeezed her, I grabbed her hand.
- 18:47She started crying and her finger had been injured in the report. Judge Judy
- 18:52said, so you're poking him non stop. You're just poking him, poking
- 18:57him. No, you can't put your hands on somebody and expect them to
- 19:02do nothing. She says that to this woman. No, she says it
- 19:07to it. April says, your honor, if you keep reading, you'll
- 19:11see that he pushed me off the bed and kicked me. And Judy interrupts
- 19:15again and says you put your hands on him. And April says, so
- 19:21that makes all of that okay, and Judy goes, listen to me,
- 19:26you can't put your hands on someone and expect them not to do anything.
- 19:30Oh my god, Yeah, I am losing my mind right now. Dang
- 19:38boy. It mits she he shoved her. Itmits, squeeze your hand,
- 19:45broke her finger. Judy is on team abuse her. But to be clear
- 19:52here, even if you go down, like, even if you get to
- 19:56the point where you're like Judy's right, well, here's the thing is if
- 20:00you are poking. April was saying, I'm I wasn't angry. I was
- 20:03crying and I'm trying to wake him up because I want to talk about this.
- 20:07That is her take. But all I'm saying is, even if you
- 20:11are on team Judy, here where you're like an I for an eye or
- 20:14a finger for a finger here, finger for a finger. Okay, That's
- 20:18what all I'm saying is. He then went further, yes, like it's
- 20:22no longer an eye for an eye at that according to Judy, she started
- 20:26it. So if if you poke somebody, if you want to go down
- 20:29the trap of hill, regardless of if it's uh anybody, if I'm poking
- 20:33you, that then gives you the right to kick the living tar. Apparently
- 20:38so and Judy is. I was like, okay, tell me about what
- 20:41happened with the stuff in the storage unit. He said, well, I,
- 20:45uh held on to the stuff in the storage unit for six months.
- 20:49I took it back to my aunt's place. Uh. And why did he
- 20:52do that? I want I didn't want to pay for the storage unit anymore.
- 20:56A and then b I wanted my stuff back before she could have her
- 21:02stuff back, and Judy said, what stuff of yours did she take?
- 21:06He says, an entertainment stand, a bunch of movies, a tent,
- 21:12and a few other things. And I've got pictures. None of the movies.
- 21:17Judy asked for it. The entertainment stand looks awful. She goes,
- 21:21what is this? Like sixty nine bucks? Like did you put it together?
- 21:25And he said no, you're on hers like three hundred dollars. She
- 21:26said, do you have a re seat? He says no. She said,
- 21:30she asked, April, did you take the TV stand? He gave
- 21:33me the TV stand. I did not take the tent. I don't know
- 21:34what he's talking about Okay, what else did she take? He said,
- 21:40she took some of my daughter's clothing and some of her toys and my tackle
- 21:44box. April says, I didn't take the tackle box. I took the
- 21:48clothing and toys because I bought them thinking we were going to raise a child.
- 21:52And then it is this point that Judy hops back in to lecture her
- 21:56again on what a gift is good? Gosh, woman like, just stop,
- 22:07okay, so hey, Judy says, it's a gift. It doesn't
- 22:10matter, It doesn't matter who you bought, if you bought him or not,
- 22:11as soon as you gave him to the kid, even if the kids
- 22:15won it their hers blah blah blahlah blah. So Fred then says, I
- 22:19gave three bags of her things away to the Salvation Army. I gave a
- 22:25bag of clothes, a bag of dishes, and some Teddy Bears away to
- 22:29the Salvation Army. Wait, can I stop you right real quick? So
- 22:30she didn't try to get the stuff out of those stores. She did for
- 22:33six months, locks changed, So he changed. Why did he do that
- 22:38to make sure she couldn't get him until he had his stuff back, which
- 22:41once again she claims a stand he gave her I got, I got nothing,
- 22:45yes, right, So then he took all of her stuff. He
- 22:48didn't want to pay for it anymore. To this his aunt's barn. It's
- 22:52been outside in a barn. The rest of the stuff he has pictures.
- 22:53He's like a cow to a dress her. It's sitting in a barn outside.
- 22:57Right. He said, I kept her her furniture, I kept her
- 23:00diploma, I kept her tax stuff. Uh why didn't you give it back
- 23:04to her? Says Judy. Fred says, because she didn't give me my
- 23:07stuff back. Uh. And uh she And then Judy says, well,
- 23:10you're a baby. She does call him a baby. I want to be
- 23:12clear that it is not April. She does call him a bait. And
- 23:18I think that's and April said, you're on her. This is six months
- 23:22later. My stuff is in a barn covered in feces, over a dozen
- 23:25cats living there. Uh, like this is I don't want that, Like
- 23:30I don't want the stuff. I wanted the stuff back when I could use
- 23:33the stuff. And is at this point that Judy is ready to rule.
- 23:38Remind me of the finances there isn't. I can't because they don't ever mention,
- 23:45but he has the stuff he gave away. We're clothes, dishes,
- 23:48Teddy Bear collection. The stuff he kept was furniture, mirror, dresser,
- 23:56bed, diploma attack stuff. My guess. My guess is that Judy will
- 24:03give her the amount of money equal to what he gave away. So let's
- 24:11call it two hundred bucks. Yes, but it's a thousand, okay.
- 24:15She gives her a thousand and then says, you, within the next five
- 24:18days, he is required to give you all the stuff out of the barn
- 24:22back, okay. And that's the end of the case. Sure, one
- 24:26of the more utterly just depressing cases I've ever watched. Yeah, that's tough.
- 24:32I don't want to post the link for other people to watch it.
- 24:33But I also am just gobsmacked as Judy lectures this woman on getting this on
- 24:38the YouTube. It's on the YouTube, or to the comments, saying I
- 24:41did not look because it's on this string of like three hours worth of Judge
- 24:45Judy. But I can look it up. I say, it is patently
- 24:48absurd. I can't believe it's a real case. I wanted I wanted to
- 24:52punch Judy in the face. Just full disclosure well, you'd have to wait
- 24:55for her in this scenario to poke that's that's right, and then fair gas.
- 25:00Yeah, I really want to punch you. Do you want to be?
- 25:03She's not my homegirl. I can tell you that right now. No,
- 25:04no, no, we did, We did everybody. I would implore
- 25:07everybody to watch as much judge, you know, as possible. U.
- 25:11There is what I've been going back to is there's a four hour clip of
- 25:15four hours worth of episodes on a Facebook somewhere. Come on. I don't
- 25:19know whose Facebook it is, but God bless them for doing the Lord.
- 25:23I went back in two weeks next week with the Bayside and tell them,
- 25:26man, we'll be the first to wish you in all ris Yo. Gabble
