- 0:01Hi, I'm Jay Fallon and you are listening to the slippery slope
- 0:06and it's slippery. Slope, indeed, I'm going to play
- 0:10for you the audio from a video which was released by the United
- 0:17States Navy, and they have decided to release a video
- 0:22promote promoting the use of pronouns, within the Navy and
- 0:28how best to use pronouns. To create a safe safe space.
- 0:37Sir, please listen to it if you can bear, listen to it all.
- 0:42It's pretty insightful and on the things that a Navy like the
- 0:48United States Navy. The biggest Navy in the world
- 0:53has decided to focus on pronouns.
- 0:58Have a listen, I'll come back with with a few thoughts after
- 1:02this goes for just under four minutes.
- 1:05I hope you can bear it. Hi.
- 1:10My name is Johnny and I use he/him pronouns pronouns.
- 1:15And we're here to talk about pronouns.
- 1:17What is a pronoun? A pronoun is how we identify
- 1:20ourselves apart from our name and it's also hope be bored
- 1:24referred to as and conversations using the right.
- 1:26Pronouns is a really simple way to affirm someone's identity.
- 1:30It is a signal of acceptance and respect.
- 1:33If it's a signal of acceptance and respect, how do we go about
- 1:36creating a safe space for everybody?
- 1:39That's a good question. A really good way to do that is
- 1:42to use inclusive language instead of saying something
- 1:44like, hey guys, you can say, hey everyone or hey team.
- 1:50Yeah. And now that you say that,
- 1:51another way that we could show that we're allies and then we
- 1:54accept everybody is to, maybe include are pronouns in our
- 1:58emails, or like, we just did introduce ourselves using our
- 2:02pronouns. But what would I do if I miss
- 2:06gender, someone. I think the first thing to
- 2:08recognize is that it's not the end of the world, you correct
- 2:11yourself and move on or you accept the correction and move
- 2:14on. The most important thing I can
- 2:16tell you is do not put the burden of making you feel good
- 2:19about your mistake on the person that you just miss gendered.
- 2:22Oh, thank you for telling me that.
- 2:23Yeah. And another tip for you to
- 2:26remember their pronoun, mix time, it's in your mind.
- 2:30Kind of go through a progression of three, good things about the
- 2:33person using their printout. So let's say the person chooses
- 2:37To use day, then you will, in your mind go.
- 2:41They have a nice Cherry, they have a nice smile, they are
- 2:46really smart, so that kind of sticks in your bread that is so
- 2:49helpful. I want to know what would I do
- 2:53if I want to know someone's gender identity or pronounce?
- 2:57The most important thing is do not pressure anybody into giving
- 3:02you their pronouns, some people may be going through the process
- 3:06of discovery and they are not ready yet to tell you what their
- 3:09pronouns are. And that's okay.
- 3:11So I should just lead with my pronouns and they may follow or
- 3:15not and if they don't then I can just continue to use
- 3:19gender-neutral language. Yes, exactly.
- 3:21Just to share something with you that happen.
- 3:24The other day, I had a cookout. I was that we were talking about
- 3:28pronouns and somebody was disagreeing with how different
- 3:34people see themselves as different pronouns.
- 3:37And the argument was, if you look like a female, then it's
- 3:42Tri her because that's what's normal.
- 3:44And if you make me, call you something else, then you're
- 3:46infringing on my rights. And I was really taken aback by
- 3:50the comment and I really wasn't sure how to respond and the
- 3:53only, Thing, I could really think quickly to say was, it's
- 3:58not about you at all and it's mostly an ultimately about
- 4:04respect. It is about respect.
- 4:05That's an important point to make and I think you did the
- 4:08right thing, I think it's important to keep it short and
- 4:12simple. What I would have said to help
- 4:15them understand. It better is to talk about
- 4:18mispronouncing names. For example, my name is Johnnie
- 4:21spelled Jo NY and It's normal for someone to pronounce my name
- 4:27like Joni. But if I were to tell you over
- 4:30and over again, my name is Johnny and you insist on
- 4:33mispronouncing. My name, I would feel
- 4:36disrespected by you. Some names are very difficult to
- 4:40pronounce but do you know what is very easy to pronounce?
- 4:43She he they So there you have it.
- 5:02U.s. Navy training video, educating
- 5:05its members. On the use of correct.
- 5:10Pronouns to me, this seems extremely strange, that's it,
- 5:16defends spores and own an arm of the United States.
- 5:20Defense Force would would think that this is the direction that
- 5:24they want to go. This will help National
- 5:26Security. This is what our Sailors need.
- 5:32To help defend them when they're in the midst of war in the midst
- 5:36of battle. I hope I don't miss gender
- 5:40someone. I hope I don't hurt.
- 5:43Someone's feelings are using the wrong pronoun.
- 5:47When I'm in the middle of a battle in the middle of a fierce
- 5:50battle. They're not do that.
- 5:52I think, I think I agree. Wholeheartedly with the
- 5:57Republican. Texas Congressman, Dan Crenshaw.
- 6:01Or do I believe is also an ex-navy seal he says, here's an
- 6:06idea fire everyone in the Navy who puts pronouns in their email
- 6:11signature and focus on how to be better at War.
- 6:15This is so stupid. He also added also the US
- 6:20Representative Billy long. He says that while China is
- 6:24building the world's largest navy including the launch of a
- 6:29super carrier, which is only Week.
- 6:32The Democrats are focusing on gender studies in CRT training
- 6:38for the military. China must be petrified.
- 6:42Could you see to it? Does anyone do any of these, do
- 6:48any of these individuals from moment?
- 6:50Think that the Chinese Navy Army, whatever the Chinese
- 6:55Defense Force or the Russian Defense Force remotely
- 6:59interested in pronouns. Do you think for a minute?
- 7:03They are educating their staff their members on pronouns and in
- 7:09the possibility that they might offend someone if they misgender
- 7:12someone. Do you think for a second that
- 7:15that is going to help with? War is not going to do a thing.
- 7:20If they bring this rubbish in into Australia, which looks like
- 7:25there. There's some worrying worrying
- 7:29signs for the Australian Defence Force.
- 7:32If they do bring this in for a Strike.
- 7:34Wow, we are in trouble. These stupidity of of far-left
- 7:41politicians is absolutely Beyond Comprehension.
- 7:44It's just another it. Look, it's just another Empted
- 7:48pandering at the pandering to the lgbtq+ community, you know?
- 7:54Because obviously it was this was all released in pride month.
- 7:57Look this constant pandering to the lgbtq+ community is just
- 8:03absolutely ridiculous. It is not going to win you Wars.
- 8:08It's not even about being laughed at.
- 8:10What are you seriously? Teaching your military
- 8:14personnel, the American Military Is being decayed from the inside
- 8:20out and Destroy Alia has been on the same path to for quite a
- 8:23while. We are starting to see this
- 8:27Decay come in and we are destroying ourselves because we
- 8:33are following this absolute rot. This sinful sinful behavior of
- 8:39pandering to the lgbtq+ community.
- 8:45And this idea that pride month. It's something to hold up on a
- 8:50pedestal. When actually the Bible says
- 8:52that pride is sin is a sin and yet we hold it up as if it's
- 8:59something to be joyful about something to celebrate should be
- 9:04ringing alarm bells in your head right now.
- 9:07That's my opinion. Thank you for listening to the
- 9:10slippery slope.
