- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, guys, welcome back to Wisecracks. Bill Krackenberger, John Orlando.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Over here the Westgate Superbook. I had to open the
- 0:06Speaker 1: curtains because people had some comments saying that we were
- 0:09Speaker 1: in an institutional and I had a you know, John
- 0:14Speaker 1: has been in them before, but he's okay now and yeah,
- 0:17Speaker 1: So now we were opened up and here we are
- 0:19Speaker 1: at the West Gate. We're just off to the side
- 0:22Speaker 1: and me and John's having an argument before we he said,
- 0:25Speaker 1: turn the cameras on. Yeah, so Michael got it. Well,
- 0:29Speaker 1: there was a tweet yesterday, yeah, by David Lappin. I
- 0:33Speaker 1: don't know who he is, Poker Stars team ambassador, host
- 0:37Speaker 1: and producer. Oh, he's a host, commenter, host and producer.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And so you want to be in the poker world.
- 0:45Speaker 1: So he said, whoa that first World Series of Poker
- 0:49Speaker 1: event four hundred and fifty six dollars is the was
- 0:53Speaker 1: the money that went back into the tournament out of
- 0:57Speaker 1: the I guess five point fifty dollars and fifty cents
- 1:02Speaker 1: almost twenty one percent registration fee for a thirty minute
- 1:06Speaker 1: clock and monkey event is wild. I don't give that.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I don't get what that means to be honest with
- 1:11Speaker 1: you have theres a lot of these terms. I don't
- 1:12Speaker 1: get thirty minute clock.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Meaning the levels of thirty minutes, thirty minute levels.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Okay and no, and add to that the max late registrations.
- 1:21Speaker 1: They only get ten big blinds with sixty five percent
- 1:24Speaker 1: of the field. Gone, Well that's on them, isn't it.
- 1:27Speaker 1: And they're like like, you know, like why is that
- 1:29Speaker 1: a negative? Yeah? No, if you buy back in you
- 1:32Speaker 1: only get ten big ones.
- 1:33Speaker 3: It's not a lot to work max late redge right,
- 1:37Speaker 3: you're only getting ten big.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Now, it says sniping a twenty five percent plus ICM bump.
- 1:42Speaker 1: This is these are some terminology. I don't know. Maybe
- 1:45Speaker 1: someone in the comments can tell us. I could see
- 1:47Speaker 1: John doesn't know. He just it is what it is.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Recreational players in from the start because they actually want
- 1:55Speaker 1: to play poker are getting erecked.
- 1:58Speaker 2: I do get that that you know you're in there.
- 2:01Speaker 1: And then oh, I didn't see this. Then then David says,
- 2:05Speaker 1: Party Poker Tour Madrid Main Event eight eight, Poker Glasgow
- 2:10Speaker 1: Poker Stars is about still Poker Stars fifteen point six percent.
- 2:14Speaker 1: That's no bargain here. I mean, now I understand it's
- 2:17Speaker 1: less money than twenty point five percent, but some party
- 2:22Speaker 1: poker twelve point three percent. That's kind of the normal.
- 2:24Speaker 1: The normal world to me was always ten percent, eight percent,
- 2:26Speaker 1: and poker in the local poker room across America.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Todd whittles here players in that event.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Yes, I've been saying for years that the max late
- 2:37Speaker 1: reg is a huge edge, and I had people telling
- 2:39Speaker 1: me I was stupid. But yeah, ouch, I didn't know
- 2:42Speaker 1: the rake was that high. Probably going to keep me
- 2:46Speaker 1: out of buying at that level. Okay, that's one of
- 2:48Speaker 1: the poker guys.
- 2:49Speaker 3: So let's do it this way, and yesterday's flight probably
- 2:53Speaker 3: will be the lightest flight.
- 2:54Speaker 2: How many people does? Saw many people players? It's almost
- 2:57Speaker 2: nine something.
- 2:59Speaker 3: How many poker tournaments across the country pull nineteen hundred players?
- 3:05Speaker 2: Take your time. I'll wait on a you know, Tuesday.
- 3:09Speaker 1: There's a lot of people on here.
- 3:10Speaker 2: What are you complaining about? You guys sound stupid? You can.
- 3:14Speaker 3: You can hammer me all you want in the comments.
- 3:16Speaker 3: It's too high, ever, Rich, You're an idiot. You're an idiot,
- 3:21Speaker 3: because where else can you urge?
- 3:24Speaker 1: John? No one's calling you an idiot. No one's saying nothing.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I'm calling them an idiot, I know, for for for
- 3:29Speaker 3: not understanding what I'm saying that it is a silly argument.
- 3:34Speaker 3: You cannot play in a tournament with that size of
- 3:39Speaker 3: a field anywhere else in the world, but one time
- 3:42Speaker 3: a year even in Europe.
- 3:44Speaker 2: W sop. Europe doesn't get a field like this.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I like to know the people out there say.
- 3:48Speaker 2: So, but what is that worth? Do you know me
- 3:50Speaker 2: lines we stood in yesterday? None?
- 3:54Speaker 1: All right?
- 3:55Speaker 2: Does that count? Does the app count for anything? If
- 3:57Speaker 2: you bust and you want to go back.
- 3:59Speaker 1: In rre on your app?
- 4:00Speaker 2: You just on your app.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Side, you're in. How do you put the buy in
- 4:04Speaker 1: in with the app?
- 4:06Speaker 2: You now you do? There is there will be one
- 4:08Speaker 2: initial line.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Yeah, so you have a pool of money in there.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Where No, you're just you're just attaching it to a card,
- 4:14Speaker 3: credit a credit card or or an at A credit card.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yes, world cherious, Yes, I didn't even know that.
- 4:19Speaker 2: You can buy it with your credit card or your
- 4:21Speaker 2: ATM card. You have to just go. You do have
- 4:23Speaker 2: to go physically.
- 4:24Speaker 3: It's for your protection, right, your ID and your card
- 4:27Speaker 3: that you want to use. Once that's locked in on
- 4:29Speaker 3: the app, you just you just do it on the app.
- 4:32Speaker 3: If you have to place value. You can't hammer them
- 4:34Speaker 3: on the rake all the time and not place value
- 4:37Speaker 3: on the size of the field.
- 4:38Speaker 2: The you know, they're getting players from all over the world.
- 4:41Speaker 3: There's going to be twenty thirty, maybe forty, maybe fifty
- 4:45Speaker 3: thousand entries into this tournament.
- 4:46Speaker 2: So who cares what the rake is? This is what
- 4:48Speaker 2: my point is.
- 4:49Speaker 1: All the touch of me. I don't like that.
- 4:50Speaker 3: This is my point all the time is you're in
- 4:53Speaker 3: a You're in a tournament that's going to have forty
- 4:55Speaker 3: thousand entries. Where else can you do that? So what
- 4:59Speaker 3: if they take twenty percent? So what if they take
- 5:01Speaker 3: twenty five percent? Who cares? There is forty thousand players?
- 5:04Speaker 3: That offsets that?
- 5:07Speaker 2: No, I'm wrong, You're wrong? Wow?
- 5:09Speaker 1: Why twenty five percent? ICM plus bump refers to a
- 5:13Speaker 1: significant increase in your real money equity, often twenty five
- 5:16Speaker 1: percent or more from a successful double up or knockout
- 5:18Speaker 1: in a high ICM pressure spot. This bump happens because
- 5:23Speaker 1: eliminating a player or doubling moves you up. Pay jumps dramatically,
- 5:26Speaker 1: and your survival equity skyrockets.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Great, Gal'll say.
- 5:30Speaker 3: It again, how many poker tournaments a year? Can you
- 5:33Speaker 3: enter where you can win one million dollars? Take your time,
- 5:36Speaker 3: I'll wait, and you can do that at a wsop.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Not once, not twice, I don't know, forty five times
- 5:44Speaker 3: this summer and.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Went the end. When you do cash out, they still
- 5:49Speaker 1: have the balls at the cage to ask you for
- 5:51Speaker 1: a tip, even though they took out money already five
- 5:54Speaker 1: percent for the dealers and the staff.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Okay, and the guy at McDonald's now wants a tip
- 5:59Speaker 3: when you get a burger at the thing. It's hey,
- 6:01Speaker 3: it's just gonna ask you one question before you do.
- 6:03Speaker 1: They do it at McDonald's now, just do it everywhere. Wow,
- 6:06Speaker 1: I didn't know that they do it everywhere.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Okay, everyone's trying to.
- 6:10Speaker 1: But they already have a tip. The guy in this case,
- 6:12Speaker 1: the guy at McDonalds would already get the five percent,
- 6:14Speaker 1: So you say no. You could say no. I just
- 6:17Speaker 1: think Joe Public doesn't know anybody they Oh what maybe
- 6:20Speaker 1: they didn't. Oh oh I didn't know. I don't realize
- 6:23Speaker 1: I didn't tip. Here you go, and you're giving more money,
- 6:26Speaker 1: So I'm all for tipping, you know that.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 6:29Speaker 1: Yeah, every time we go to eat. You still have
- 6:31Speaker 1: your record clean, having put a dollar.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Up right, No, I'm on camera a couple times.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Oh wait a minute, hold it. You did they pay
- 6:39Speaker 1: for a slice of pizza. It was August twenty I
- 6:44Speaker 1: have I have a video paid for pizza? You did.
- 6:47Speaker 2: There's been a couple.
- 6:48Speaker 1: There was a hot day. I remember that.
- 6:49Speaker 3: You can definitely count him on one hand. Listen, Bill,
- 6:52Speaker 3: call me crime. Listen when we go to eat, call
- 6:55Speaker 3: me crime. It's okay, call me crime, crime. Don't pay, crime,
- 6:58Speaker 3: don't pay.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Okay.
- 7:02Speaker 2: With all that said, you will be playing in the
- 7:04Speaker 2: senior event.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Yes, you know. I don't feel like it at all.
- 7:06Speaker 1: When is it? You know?
- 7:08Speaker 2: I'll check a couple of weeks June, mid June.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Okay, it's shifting and older? Right? Yeah?
- 7:14Speaker 2: Can I get you to play the main? Can I
- 7:17Speaker 2: get you? What if I get a comped? What if
- 7:19Speaker 2: I can get.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Your com Of course I played comped, you'd.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Play comps in the main. All right, I'm on a mission.
- 7:24Speaker 1: If you comp it, you can get half the winning
- 7:26Speaker 1: What if?
- 7:27Speaker 2: Whoa say that again? Look right into the camera.
- 7:30Speaker 1: If you comp you can get you you get a
- 7:32Speaker 1: free roll?
- 7:33Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, you know who I'm gonna go to
- 7:37Speaker 3: the very people that you're complaining.
- 7:38Speaker 2: About the rink. Well, I don't know, but I think
- 7:44Speaker 2: we're gonna get it.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I don't want you to be the pimp and me
- 7:47Speaker 1: be your whore, So I don't know if I'll let
- 7:49Speaker 1: you do that.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I love it all right? What else? What's this?
- 7:54Speaker 1: I'll talk about this one second.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I went to the Vegas Golden Knights game last the
- 7:58Speaker 1: last two nights. Was fantastic, amazing, right, what when it
- 8:02Speaker 1: was down, they were down free? Nothing unbelievable. How yeah,
- 8:06Speaker 1: come back? There were a thirty to one underdog.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Now I'm confused.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Didn't everyone I know that knows hockey. I'm a casual,
- 8:11Speaker 3: super casual hockey gual. I feel like everyone I know
- 8:14Speaker 3: that follows hockey said, Colorado is gonna win the Stanley Cup.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Well, if you think about it like that, three.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Minutes ago, before that, you were even matched up.
- 8:23Speaker 1: With the wager wire ticket. Remember man Randy Yes offered
- 8:27Speaker 1: the guy sixty thousand dollars, right, and now I would
- 8:30Speaker 1: have we would have had something back. Randy had a plan,
- 8:33Speaker 1: but we would have lost. We would have lost money
- 8:35Speaker 1: on this. Yeah, So I guess, Hey, I guess credit
- 8:37Speaker 1: to the guy that actually cashed out his ticket for
- 8:40Speaker 1: fifty seven thousand.
- 8:41Speaker 2: He did the right thing.
- 8:43Speaker 1: He did the right thing. I guess he did. But
- 8:45Speaker 1: you know, we were gonna give him sixty two thousand.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I think we'll remember.
- 8:48Speaker 2: He saved your ass.
- 8:49Speaker 1: He saved me, He saved me some money. I had
- 8:51Speaker 1: no idea Colorado was gonna be that bad. Oh my god,
- 8:54Speaker 1: they were. They were a big favorite, going wild wild
- 8:57Speaker 1: and again I took some last night to the game.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I went to there last night at the Vets at
- 9:04Speaker 1: Park MGM, and then went to the game from there,
- 9:08Speaker 1: and then our buddy who we know, David, had the box.
- 9:13Speaker 1: He text me is that I have an extra seat.
- 9:16Speaker 1: So I asked Nifty to go at me. So Nifty
- 9:18Speaker 1: came over there with me, and he was his first
- 9:22Speaker 1: hockey game he went to. And he said the same thing,
- 9:25Speaker 1: He can't believe how good of a job that Las
- 9:29Speaker 1: Vegas Golden Knights do and for the city. And it
- 9:32Speaker 1: was like eighty percent locals in there, eighty percent Vegas.
- 9:36Speaker 1: It wasn't like fifty to fifty Colorado fans or it
- 9:40Speaker 1: was really really an amazing game. Again, two nights ago,
- 9:45Speaker 1: two games ago, I just seen that they I got
- 9:48Speaker 1: there early at the beginning. The job they do at
- 9:52Speaker 1: promoting it and getting the kids involved in the families involved.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I know, I've set up a former broken record here.
- 9:58Speaker 1: You know, I'm tough on Las Vegas and a lot
- 9:59Speaker 1: of areas. So when something's really good, I really like
- 10:02Speaker 1: to repeat it. And you you've been to a night's game, right,
- 10:06Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, it's just great. It's incredible the people involved.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Speaking of which, Johnson, Yeah, what is this? This is uh,
- 10:12Speaker 1: this is uh.
- 10:13Speaker 2: I've met these guys with you. Right.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Well, this is David's card shop. He has a Myrtle
- 10:16Speaker 1: Beach oh right, sports Cards plus, the biggest, biggest card
- 10:21Speaker 1: shop in Myrtle Beach. The most popular has taken over.
- 10:24Speaker 1: There's like five of them. I can't believe it, fi,
- 10:26Speaker 1: I can't believe sports cards are popular.
- 10:29Speaker 2: It's had a resurgence of the last.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Sports cards, massive, massive business.
- 10:34Speaker 1: He's there right right on the highway bypass seventeen sports
- 10:38Speaker 1: cards plus. I told him I give him a plug. Yeah,
- 10:40Speaker 1: I mean, after all, he gave me the sweet the
- 10:41Speaker 1: box for the last two weeks. Yeah, we'll try to
- 10:45Speaker 1: see if we can get some money at him for advertising.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Wait, was he in town or yeah okay, okay, yeah, yeah,
- 10:51Speaker 3: great here.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Yeah he's here, Yeah, he's here. He's playing in Friday.
- 10:56Speaker 1: He came into town to play in a big Boogie
- 10:59Speaker 1: event Friday, that world series. Yeah yeah, yeah, David has
- 11:02Speaker 1: no idea whether it is.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Do you play those other games?
- 11:05Speaker 1: No?
- 11:06Speaker 2: Nothing?
- 11:07Speaker 1: Limit back in the day, the jailhouse game.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Did you ever play limit back in the day? Only
- 11:11Speaker 2: limit only limit?
- 11:12Speaker 1: Yeah? There was, yeah, limit, limit hold them. Sure, that's
- 11:15Speaker 1: what I play now too. I play a limit hold them. Yeah,
- 11:18Speaker 1: not limit hold them tournament though, but limit hold them
- 11:20Speaker 1: cash games?
- 11:21Speaker 2: Why not tournament?
- 11:23Speaker 1: Uh, there's there's some strategy to that that I'm not
- 11:25Speaker 1: aware of. I'm not good enough to play in these
- 11:28Speaker 1: uh these you know, limit, there is some strategy to those,
- 11:32Speaker 1: you know. And I say not good enough. I noticed
- 11:34Speaker 1: a lot.
- 11:35Speaker 3: I was gonna correct you, but go ahead, Yeah you're
- 11:38Speaker 3: good enough.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I mean listen, like I said, I played
- 11:41Speaker 1: one event in the last and.
- 11:42Speaker 2: You jumped right back in and passed cashed.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Yeah, played played minimal. You know, probably wasn't aggressive enough,
- 11:50Speaker 1: didn't you know? You have to be really aggressive. I
- 11:53Speaker 1: would think this event that you guys played yesterday, you
- 11:55Speaker 1: have to be aggressive in the beginning, I would.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Think, Yeah, I am so card dead yesterday.
- 12:00Speaker 1: How do you get the bounties that until day two?
- 12:03Speaker 3: So the goal is take a monster stack in the
- 12:07Speaker 3: day two.
- 12:09Speaker 1: So and anyone you knock out day two is a bounty.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Is a bounty mystery?
- 12:14Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeow wow, okay, yeah. Now are you guys playing today? Yeah,
- 12:20Speaker 1: same same tournament.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Yeah, they started at ten, So we'll go in.
- 12:23Speaker 1: You're gonna give him the twenty one percent.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Yes, I'm gonna give him gladly give him. I don't care.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Okay, So, John, I've been out to these California car rooms. Yeah, sometimes,
- 12:36Speaker 1: the poker rooms and commerce yep, bicycle yep. Hollywood Park
- 12:40Speaker 1: two right, and I haven't been there ever? No?
- 12:43Speaker 2: Wait, what never?
- 12:45Speaker 1: I want to see a basketball game across the street
- 12:47Speaker 1: from there? What was it? What was across the street
- 12:48Speaker 1: from the Forum? The Forum back in the day? Yeah,
- 12:51Speaker 1: I think I see the concert in the Forum too.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Did you ever go to Hollywood Park race track? Oh?
- 12:55Speaker 1: Wow? No? No, is it nice?
- 12:58Speaker 3: Well it's gone now it's where it's it's where the
- 13:01Speaker 3: Sofi Stadium is.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Oh, that's where Sofi is.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Yes, I've been to Sofi the Stones and so that
- 13:06Speaker 3: used to be Hollywood Park, racetrack and casino. And now
- 13:09Speaker 3: the casino is right to the right. If you're facing
- 13:11Speaker 3: so right next to so Far is the casino. If
- 13:13Speaker 3: you're facing so Fi, it's to the right. But like
- 13:16Speaker 3: a long walk or a three minute drive.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Okay, Well I always seen these the blackjack in there,
- 13:22Speaker 1: I just never played them. It just feel right.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Yeah, it looks weird. You're to pay a dollar fee.
- 13:27Speaker 2: You'd to pay a dollar.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Up to one hundred dollars hand and if after one
- 13:32Speaker 3: hundred dollars, yet every every one hundred was another dollar,
- 13:35Speaker 3: five hundred dollars, hands five dollars.
- 13:37Speaker 1: And they have someone at the table ye with a
- 13:41Speaker 1: bank of monkery, a banker. Yeah, so and that now.
- 13:45Speaker 2: And also bet on the banker winning.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I didn't know that.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Yeah really, yeah, but now I heard that's gone.
- 13:52Speaker 1: June first, it was it was scheduled to stop June first,
- 13:55Speaker 1: a California judge blocks controversial blackjack rules targeting guardrooms. So
- 14:01Speaker 1: a judge actually blocked it and said, uh, let's look
- 14:05Speaker 1: into this more of these California games. And the injunction
- 14:09Speaker 1: is another forty five days or the court considers written arguments. Uh,
- 14:13Speaker 1: they were closing the blackjack games. They were actually closing
- 14:16Speaker 1: them there Blackjacker twenty one style games. In California tribal law,
- 14:21Speaker 1: casinos have exclusive rights to operate certain bank games card rooms. Whoever,
- 14:24Speaker 1: I spent decades using a legal workaround that relies on
- 14:29Speaker 1: the third party proposition player services. Because the tribal I
- 14:35Speaker 1: guess the under under California law, right they could do
- 14:38Speaker 1: what they want and they control and say we're we
- 14:40Speaker 1: have the whole right to the state. They found a
- 14:42Speaker 1: way to get around it.
- 14:43Speaker 3: So now Hollywood Park casinos and the bike in those places.
- 14:48Speaker 1: So that's I find that pretty interesting that that they're Wow,
- 14:52Speaker 1: I'd like to know who's going to win, who's going
- 14:54Speaker 1: to win that that that that's in the end, like
- 14:57Speaker 1: the tribal council, trib win very strong. Think the owners
- 15:01Speaker 1: of the casinos they are very strong too. Yeah, let's
- 15:04Speaker 1: talk about this jerk off. Mitchell Fairborne, the flamingo guy, right,
- 15:08Speaker 1: the flamingo guy did not he skipped court. He flew
- 15:13Speaker 1: the coop. In other words, that it says here, I
- 15:15Speaker 1: see what you do. Las Vegas Judge released him on
- 15:18Speaker 1: twelve thousand dollars. Bail ordered him to surrender his passport,
- 15:21Speaker 1: stay away from the strip, and avoid all animals, and
- 15:24Speaker 1: wear an electric monitor.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Now.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Fairborne then failed to appear for his court date. And
- 15:30Speaker 1: it says a status check for negotiations is now said
- 15:34Speaker 1: status check? What does that even mean? You know what
- 15:37Speaker 1: they're they're these these.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Uh you know the status checks? Have you hurt any
- 15:42Speaker 2: more animals since.
- 15:42Speaker 1: The last unbelievable, unbelievable, unbelieving Mitchell Fairborne from Canada? I
- 15:48Speaker 1: forget the area of Canada, but the Canadian tourist here.
- 15:51Speaker 2: It's those cads.
- 15:53Speaker 1: No, that's not true Canadians.
- 15:55Speaker 2: I say that because there's a Canadians.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Canadians are good, good people, good people. And uh, this
- 16:02Speaker 1: guy is just a bad representation. Unfortunately he he's from there,
- 16:06Speaker 1: so I had to make sure people know that this
- 16:08Speaker 1: guy is still on the loose.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Yeah, just a crazy thing to do.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Bad bad guy. I want to close with that one.
- 16:15Speaker 1: How about this one? Now? I like whenever I go
- 16:18Speaker 1: to La or San Diego or something, I always like
- 16:21Speaker 1: stopping in Baker, California, where the world's largest thermometer is. Yeah,
- 16:25Speaker 1: what's the Gyro place to the Greek place. There where
- 16:28Speaker 1: is on the wall to wall the mad Greek right,
- 16:31Speaker 1: the mad Greek Greek.
- 16:33Speaker 2: There's a picture right, No.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Because you want to know why they took all the
- 16:37Speaker 1: photos down. They had like Anthony Anthony Anthony, you know,
- 16:42Speaker 1: the Greek guy, great actor, my god nine Quinn Anthony.
- 16:48Speaker 1: They took all the photos down and they painted over
- 16:50Speaker 1: the walls and just have a couple of paintings. But yeah, anyway, so.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Photos on the wall is a very old school thing.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Maybe I guess that one of the just but you're
- 17:01Speaker 3: in the middle of nowhere. Man, No offense to Baker.
- 17:03Speaker 1: But no Baker the photos. No. I like stopping there.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I like there's Now there's that alien store that has
- 17:11Speaker 1: all the jerky and the peanuts, yep, and different things
- 17:14Speaker 1: and different candies and stuff. I know they're bust outs,
- 17:17Speaker 1: but it's a big deal. It's fun. Kids love stopping there,
- 17:21Speaker 1: alien things. It's just so. Now the person who owned
- 17:25Speaker 1: the world's tolest thermometer, believe it or not, they're set
- 17:29Speaker 1: to close the close it unless they get a buyer. Now,
- 17:32Speaker 1: I didn't think it was how could it even cost
- 17:35Speaker 1: any money to run?
- 17:36Speaker 2: But how much? How much is it?
- 17:37Speaker 1: Does that? Yeah? Well look how can it not? So
- 17:40Speaker 1: they have a little gift shop there. But does that
- 17:43Speaker 1: cost money that you wouldn't think that costs? Saying that
- 17:45Speaker 1: cost eight thousand a month to light the world's eight
- 17:49Speaker 1: thousand a month electric bill?
- 17:51Speaker 2: Really?
- 17:51Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what it says.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Can't we go solar somehow here and then it's one
- 17:57Speaker 3: hundred and forty degrees out there?
- 18:00Speaker 1: People do say you're good for a couple of things.
- 18:02Speaker 1: That's it solar solar.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Not next and maybe WSLP goes in as partner with part.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Of the they're asking one point five million come on
- 18:13Speaker 1: for the land, I guess for the land and the thermometer.
- 18:16Speaker 1: I just thought that was kind of funny how they're doing.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Speaking of what you know something we talked about the
- 18:22Speaker 1: guy we had lunch with, our dinner with at Peter
- 18:24Speaker 1: Luger's last week. Yeah, did we talk of last week
- 18:28Speaker 1: on the show? How he was he had the car
- 18:30Speaker 1: and that was driving him back. Did we talk about that?
- 18:33Speaker 2: I don't know we did?
- 18:34Speaker 1: He was he has a Tesla and he sits in
- 18:37Speaker 1: the passenger seat. We talk about it. If we didn't,
- 18:41Speaker 1: we didn't know I still find that amazing.
- 18:44Speaker 2: He's just chilling.
- 18:46Speaker 1: He's just chilling on the passenger's seat. The car is
- 18:48Speaker 1: driving by itself.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Yeah, he has his own steering.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Wheel and break just in case, but he just chills there.
- 18:53Speaker 1: I gotta tell you, I would actually probably like something
- 18:56Speaker 1: like that to get You would love it. You're on
- 18:58Speaker 1: social media, you know, all day long, looking at the
- 19:01Speaker 1: broads and stuff, and I like to drive though you do.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, I don't know if I trust Oh well,
- 19:10Speaker 3: I wasn't driving, I would fall asleep and that I
- 19:12Speaker 3: wouldn't want.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Okay, you know, I just forget. You're on the phone
- 19:15Speaker 1: all the time. Yeah, they're creating these meetings. Yeah, so anyway, Yeah,
- 19:23Speaker 1: put me out. Isn't it fun? Isn't it nice to laugh?
- 19:25Speaker 1: And I have and not take our social serious. These
- 19:28Speaker 1: other podcasts, these these uh sports betting podcast or just
- 19:33Speaker 1: in general, those people I'm saying, when you talk about
- 19:37Speaker 1: not things outside getting relatable to the public, they want
- 19:41Speaker 1: to talk about analytics and algorithms and nerdy. Just give
- 19:46Speaker 1: us the winners, you know, like my buddy, My buddy
- 19:48Speaker 1: sent me the other day here. I love Warren. I
- 19:52Speaker 1: love Warren, but Warren sent me up, sent me a
- 19:54Speaker 1: thing the other day. I like three futures, I said, okay,
- 19:56Speaker 1: thank thanks, Warren appreciates one of them.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Oakland A's win their division because they're gonna.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I shouldn't even show him this one of them is his?
- 20:02Speaker 1: What he likes?
- 20:03Speaker 2: Wait? Really?
- 20:04Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 20:05Speaker 2: What I just said?
- 20:05Speaker 1: No?
- 20:06Speaker 2: No, no, no, but no?
- 20:07Speaker 1: What what is it? So? Look this? This is this
- 20:10Speaker 1: is Look at this right up, this is there's only
- 20:12Speaker 1: three picks here. Look at this. Look at this. My god,
- 20:15Speaker 1: it's the book three.
- 20:17Speaker 2: That's not Ai either.
- 20:18Speaker 1: That's what's him.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I can tell.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Here's the bottom line what he likes.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Can we say who it is?
- 20:23Speaker 1: Or no?
- 20:24Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 20:24Speaker 1: Warren sharp? Oh war oh look look at the first one.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Man, don't make it. I can't see.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I can't believe you're getting this old. Okay, look at
- 20:31Speaker 1: the first Oh yeah, Denver. Denver wins the AFC West, Yes,
- 20:37Speaker 1: twenty five at DK Free money.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Wow, it's free money. That's free money.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Okay, to win the AFC West.
- 20:45Speaker 3: The Peanut Gallery said, that's not happening, that the Chargers
- 20:49Speaker 3: are going to win the division.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Time about who would you think this the fewest wins
- 20:52Speaker 1: in the NFL. Who would you think that it's at
- 20:55Speaker 1: it's at MGM, and it's plus four twenty five Miami Dolphins.
- 21:00Speaker 1: That's what he says. Miami Dolphins are bad and Miami's
- 21:05Speaker 1: playing first week of the season.
- 21:09Speaker 2: That's what I was going to ask you about. How
- 21:10Speaker 2: are the Raiders going to do this year? I think
- 21:12Speaker 2: I like this quarterback. Is he gonna play?
- 21:15Speaker 1: I think they the first game will tell you everything
- 21:17Speaker 1: they really should should be and Kirk Cousins will start
- 21:22Speaker 1: and start.
- 21:22Speaker 2: But I like the way he carries himself.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:25Speaker 2: I know nothing about him really as a player.
- 21:27Speaker 3: I mean, I know he won the Heisman and all that,
- 21:28Speaker 3: but yeah, but I mean I haven't really watched him.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Play or anything. But he seems like he's got his
- 21:35Speaker 2: head screwed on right. Yeah, it's good for the Raiders.
- 21:39Speaker 1: We'll see how that goes. How about this? So I
- 21:42Speaker 1: like this this law. Louisiana has a new sports betting
- 21:46Speaker 1: law that bands betters who harass athletes. We've talked about
- 21:51Speaker 1: it before.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it's out of control.
- 21:53Speaker 1: It's out of control. Listen, they want We've always went
- 21:57Speaker 1: the games and abused the umpires a little bit.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Yeah, have some fun.
- 22:00Speaker 1: I know me as a kid went to Yankee and
- 22:02Speaker 1: Yankee Stadium, Shay Stadium.
- 22:03Speaker 2: You have some fun with them, but now it's so personal.
- 22:07Speaker 2: I mean threats.
- 22:09Speaker 1: It's funny you say death threats. This article is actually
- 22:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna read this to you. W NBA superstar Angel
- 22:15Speaker 1: re said she faced death threats and online harassment after
- 22:19Speaker 1: winning the twenty twenty during National Championship with with the LSU.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Her case led to NCAA advocating for state sports betting
- 22:27Speaker 1: regulations to product the better product student athletes from such
- 22:31Speaker 1: abuses reached. Reese alleges that much of the hate comes
- 22:35Speaker 1: from fans of her arrival. Caitlin Cark, through the NCAA
- 22:39Speaker 1: was unable to substantiate those claims. But even worse, she
- 22:45Speaker 1: yet some of them did threaten her if she won.
- 22:50Speaker 1: They have to. If you threatened a death threat, you
- 22:53Speaker 1: got to go to jail.
- 22:53Speaker 2: You got to go to jail, and jail for the
- 22:56Speaker 2: stadium again, you just don't belong there.
- 22:58Speaker 1: So now they're they're looking to ban people from I
- 23:01Speaker 1: like that.
- 23:01Speaker 2: I like justin Louisiana.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Just in Louisiana or Landry. There exclusionists for sports betters,
- 23:09Speaker 1: which threatened players. It also applies to coaches, referees, anyone
- 23:14Speaker 1: else involved in the game. Listen, people are still gonna
- 23:18Speaker 1: yell at the referees. I don't know if it should
- 23:20Speaker 1: be applied there, however, if they go overboard or something
- 23:24Speaker 1: that's considered overboard, I guess I understand.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Did you see I forgot what player? It was the
- 23:29Speaker 2: Cubs last week?
- 23:30Speaker 1: What happened? Lady was, Oh, I did see it.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Yeah, she was yelling, and then he fired right back.
- 23:38Speaker 1: He said, what do you say back?
- 23:41Speaker 2: The curse?
- 23:41Speaker 1: Back?
- 23:42Speaker 2: Sucked my dick?
- 23:44Speaker 1: Did he really? I didn't see that? And then he,
- 23:46Speaker 1: of course he got in trouble.
- 23:47Speaker 3: I think he got a fifty thousand dollars five do
- 23:49Speaker 3: you know, Tyson, I've seen the video.
- 23:51Speaker 2: I think he got it.
- 23:52Speaker 1: I didn't see what.
- 23:53Speaker 2: I think was it five thousand, five thousand dollars? It's
- 23:57Speaker 2: worth the money for that?
- 23:58Speaker 1: Then?
- 23:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that he did it.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Wow. Let's look at this this week's wager war. I
- 24:05Speaker 1: look at this down the one pick here down.
- 24:07Speaker 2: The one thing is it's seventeen.
- 24:09Speaker 1: It's six. It's one of your kind of parlays. Yeah,
- 24:12Speaker 1: so wayger Wire has a parlay on it. Six legger.
- 24:15Speaker 1: This was five little bucks, five grocery dollars to win
- 24:19Speaker 1: twenty five fifty one, and I'll read you to this partly.
- 24:23Speaker 1: How can he only be where he got five of
- 24:25Speaker 1: the six in and it's only worth three ninety two? Now, wow,
- 24:29Speaker 1: let me look at this real quick. So he had
- 24:32Speaker 1: Indiana win plus to win the championship plus one forty.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Josh Hokey never heard of him? Money line? Is that?
- 24:40Speaker 1: Is that a UFC or.
- 24:43Speaker 2: I never heard of yeah y, Yeah, he's going to
- 24:46Speaker 2: be a big star.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Sean O'Malley, I do know, Sean O'Malley. Two winners minus
- 24:50Speaker 1: two twenty minus two fifteen Billy Lacana must be another fight,
- 24:55Speaker 1: I guess minus two twenty and then the Seattle Seahawks
- 24:59Speaker 1: Seahawks to win the ser well plus three ninety He
- 25:01Speaker 1: won all five of them. His last remaining leg is
- 25:05Speaker 1: San Antonio Spurs to win the NBA Finals. Now we
- 25:09Speaker 1: just see what happened last night. Okay, see yeah?
- 25:13Speaker 3: Cast that out now, wow, where they take it off
- 25:16Speaker 3: the table that it's a loser.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Wow, So five bucks to win with five fifty one
- 25:22Speaker 1: three ninety two bet profit. Now I don't know if
- 25:25Speaker 1: I agree. No, I don't know.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Or it's five bucks, let it.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Go, five bucks, let it go four hundred, you get
- 25:32Speaker 1: you get back to.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Three ninety, Let it go. Get you a buyer.
- 25:37Speaker 1: I'm not a buyer. I wait until they go to
- 25:40Speaker 1: the finals. Here. I would if they can go to
- 25:42Speaker 1: the finals. I know, okay See, he's a big favorite.
- 25:44Speaker 1: But you know we've seen okay See lose by twenty
- 25:48Speaker 1: points the other night and then win by twenty something.
- 25:50Speaker 1: I mean, you know whatever they're you know they're this
- 25:52Speaker 1: is an NBA. I think you can go.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Would you tell this guy is there a strategy for him?
- 25:56Speaker 2: At this point?
- 25:57Speaker 1: He's a small better so five hundred dollars five bucks,
- 26:00Speaker 1: which he's supposed to be. You know, you know you're
- 26:01Speaker 1: not supposed to throw giant money on plays, so you
- 26:05Speaker 1: know you are getting sixty x your money.
- 26:08Speaker 2: You actually like this guy? I mean, yeah, five dollar.
- 26:13Speaker 1: He's trying to file. Listen, I've waived the white towel.
- 26:15Speaker 1: People bet in parlish no matter what, They're gonna do
- 26:18Speaker 1: it anyway, no matter what I tell him. Because these
- 26:20Speaker 1: kids on Instagram and TikTok poster old guys like you.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I forgot you're playing the seniors. I always forget you're
- 26:27Speaker 1: my age, so that you uh, you know they put
- 26:30Speaker 1: them on TikTok on Instagram. How you see it is
- 26:33Speaker 1: to win these big parlays and big things. Yeah, and
- 26:36Speaker 1: it's all bs.
- 26:37Speaker 3: So what could what could he do right now? Is
- 26:39Speaker 3: there a so I tell him to take another twenty
- 26:41Speaker 3: five bucks?
- 26:42Speaker 2: Yeah somehow yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 26:46Speaker 1: He could bet right now? Yeah he could bet. Okay,
- 26:49Speaker 1: see maybe you can bet money. You can definitely get
- 26:52Speaker 1: of course you're gonna get five dollars back. You could
- 26:53Speaker 1: bet some money line, okay, see a little bit tim
- 26:57Speaker 1: bucks twenty bucks have some fun.
- 26:58Speaker 2: On every game.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess. So, yeah, you could do that just
- 27:01Speaker 1: to lock up something. But if you're gonna lock up something,
- 27:04Speaker 1: you might as well just cash out then until you
- 27:06Speaker 1: might as well just current bet value. So that's the
- 27:10Speaker 1: wager wire dot com and the wager Wire app. That's
- 27:14Speaker 1: our segment for them. Like I said last week, I
- 27:17Speaker 1: was saved. I was actually saved because I was definitely
- 27:21Speaker 1: buying that ticket. I made the guy an offer. We
- 27:23Speaker 1: were going to buy that ticket, and we didn't do it.
- 27:26Speaker 1: So and it's a good thing. It's a good thing
- 27:28Speaker 1: we didn't This is interesting about National Institute on Drug
- 27:32Speaker 1: Drug Abuse seeing teen gambling crisis, and I talk about
- 27:36Speaker 1: that all the time. Uh, there's kids are gambling. It's
- 27:42Speaker 1: that simple. Listen, it's not that like John and I
- 27:44Speaker 1: didn't do it from when we were young. When was
- 27:46Speaker 1: the first bet you were making? Mine was like nine
- 27:48Speaker 1: years old betting those parlay Yeah, of course, six years old. Yeah,
- 27:54Speaker 1: right in the coffee shop. It's yeah, you had action
- 27:58Speaker 1: that started at our parents. No, they didn't know it was.
- 28:01Speaker 2: They didn't know I was going to keep keep them
- 28:02Speaker 2: occupied while the adult stock.
- 28:04Speaker 1: They had no idea. It was the spirals out of control.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Yeah, other than that high school.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Yeah, high school.
- 28:12Speaker 2: High school is like when it got I don't say bad.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I gambled.
- 28:17Speaker 2: I was playing Blackjacket sixteen, Me too.
- 28:20Speaker 1: How I was in a casino to get away with that.
- 28:23Speaker 2: They didn't even idea us back then. I did not
- 28:25Speaker 2: idea if you sat at a slot machine that you
- 28:27Speaker 2: got id'd immediately.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I did not get idea.
- 28:29Speaker 3: But when I was nineteen, sort of like Blackchi taking
- 28:33Speaker 3: a bus from Summerland to Arizona Charlie's.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and nineteen, I never got enticed at nineteen was
- 28:39Speaker 2: playing at I was.
- 28:42Speaker 1: In Atlantic City at sixteen and by.
- 28:44Speaker 3: The way, but at nineteen, did you look twenty one,
- 28:47Speaker 3: because I'm here and tell you at twenty one, I
- 28:51Speaker 3: didn't look twenty one.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Oh I didn't, ide, like, how did they let me play?
- 28:57Speaker 2: At sixteen, I was.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Going to taking the US. I was taking the bus
- 29:01Speaker 1: from where I lived in Kingsburg to I think, I
- 29:06Speaker 1: don't I know. I went to Long Branch that goes taken.
- 29:08Speaker 1: I think I took two different busses or three different buses.
- 29:10Speaker 1: I think it was too at least the Long Branch,
- 29:12Speaker 1: Long Branch to Ocean Port Mammoth Park. At fourteen, I
- 29:15Speaker 1: was going to the race, and they're you're not.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Supposed to race track supposed to be eighteen. Yeah, I
- 29:21Speaker 2: was going sixteen, thirteen or fourteen.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Yeah, And you know our parents didn't know people out
- 29:26Speaker 1: there watching too. You know, your parents take you to
- 29:29Speaker 1: the racetrack, take you.
- 29:30Speaker 2: To places like that when it feels harmless.
- 29:32Speaker 1: It feels harmless, you know. I don't know that. I'll
- 29:35Speaker 1: say it again, they don't know that. It sets it
- 29:37Speaker 1: sets the stage for what's going to happen in the future. Okay,
- 29:42Speaker 1: but Anyway, this is an interesting article about kids again Yeling,
- 29:48Speaker 1: and I'm gonna send it to Jage. You can put
- 29:50Speaker 1: a little clip up there of that. Okay, let's go
- 29:54Speaker 1: to I don't like talking so negative or something like.
- 29:59Speaker 1: On casinos, there was a story out in California of
- 30:02Speaker 1: someone being followed out of a casino recently two weeks ago.
- 30:06Speaker 1: This is a homicide in Kansas City. Now, Kansas City,
- 30:11Speaker 1: I've only been to once. Have you ever been there? Yeah?
- 30:13Speaker 1: There once? Sure, and according to what I'm reading.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Here Paris, I was at Okay, this is Bally's.
- 30:19Speaker 1: This is Bally's Kansas City. A fatal shooting in the
- 30:23Speaker 1: parking lot left one person dead. Troubling return of violence
- 30:26Speaker 1: to the properties. So this has happened before, Listen, I said,
- 30:29Speaker 1: this happens everywhere, it really does. But this was this
- 30:33Speaker 1: is the second one this year there and eighteen year
- 30:36Speaker 1: old Mail was shot and killed. But you know these
- 30:39Speaker 1: parking it's the groad structures and just the different things
- 30:44Speaker 1: you have to be careful. And this doesn't say it
- 30:46Speaker 1: was a robbery though here but and even someone of
- 30:50Speaker 1: the comments that Bally's needs to have security patrolling their
- 30:53Speaker 1: parent lots like other casinos I have visited, so maybe
- 30:56Speaker 1: this is a strike against Bally's for not having enough
- 30:59Speaker 1: security and they extra overflow parking lots. The one story
- 31:04Speaker 1: I read about a kidnapping too, was that a guy
- 31:10Speaker 1: thirty four years old. He went to the casino with
- 31:14Speaker 1: a girl he met online. They said, we'll meet at
- 31:16Speaker 1: the casino, and they met at the casino. This is gambling,
- 31:21Speaker 1: having a good time, and then she led him back
- 31:23Speaker 1: to the to the capitol, the wolves den, that's even
- 31:27Speaker 1: better word. And yeah, they they they actually killed him.
- 31:31Speaker 1: They killed him. Yeah, they burned him in his car.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Come on.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Yeah, there was another story, like you know, that's not
- 31:38Speaker 1: the casinos, fau that could have been. You could have
- 31:40Speaker 1: met at the seven Alive for sure. Yeah, yeah seven
- 31:43Speaker 1: eleven probably wouldn't be safer, by the way, but yeah,
- 31:45Speaker 1: you could have met this anywhere and they could have happened.
- 31:48Speaker 1: But this, ye what happens that it worked, and it
- 31:50Speaker 1: happened at the casinos. And and I'm little looking Kansas
- 31:54Speaker 1: City because I was in Kansas City one time. I
- 31:56Speaker 1: just don't remember. Maybe I just was. I just probably
- 31:59Speaker 1: don't remember.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Has some rough play.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Yeah, Kansas City ranks eighth and homicide. Amongst large cities,
- 32:05Speaker 1: only New Orleans forty six per one hundred. That Memphis, Wow, Memphis,
- 32:10Speaker 1: New Orleans, Saint Louis, Baltimore, Washington, and Birmingham and good
- 32:15Speaker 1: Old Philadelphia have higher homicide rates. So there's interesting. I
- 32:20Speaker 1: didn't even I didn't even know that some big sports
- 32:24Speaker 1: cities there. But they all have one thing in common too.
- 32:28Speaker 1: I don't know about Birmingham, but the rest of them
- 32:30Speaker 1: all have casinos. Yeah, so the casinos is it's amazing.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Wherever casinos are, there's a lot of poverty. People love
- 32:40Speaker 1: to go to the casino and gamble and try to
- 32:42Speaker 1: make their rent money, their bill money, and you know,
- 32:45Speaker 1: try to.
- 32:46Speaker 2: You know, it's it's really inspiration causes.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Really, it really isn't. It really is amazing. Now this
- 32:53Speaker 1: is New York. New York lottery players lost three point
- 32:57Speaker 1: two billion last year in a lottery three point two billion.
- 33:02Speaker 1: The state encourages them to keep dreaming. That's how.
- 33:07Speaker 2: That really, that's what it says.
- 33:08Speaker 1: I don't know, I'm just I'm reading. I'm gonna send
- 33:10Speaker 1: it the page. It says state encourages them to keep dreaming. Right,
- 33:14Speaker 1: New Year, New York Lotteries new ad campaign. Wow, the
- 33:17Speaker 1: New York Lotteries new ad campaign. There there's players to
- 33:21Speaker 1: imagine the winning big However, New York's lost lost three
- 33:24Speaker 1: point two million on traditional lottery games in the twenty
- 33:27Speaker 1: twenty five fiscal year. And yet the lottery sales are
- 33:30Speaker 1: down nationwide. Ah, you know, but it's it's a new
- 33:34Speaker 1: campaign to try to get something, try to get some
- 33:37Speaker 1: of the money. Can you imagine? Look, I mean, look
- 33:38Speaker 1: look at look at the look at Oh man, I
- 33:41Speaker 1: tell you it's a new tagline. The new tagline for
- 33:44Speaker 1: New New York Lottery is can you imagine? Can you imagine?
- 33:48Speaker 1: Really nice? Really nice? But three point two billion? Wow,
- 33:51Speaker 1: there's a lot of money going on here. There's no
- 33:53Speaker 1: long gonna uh you know, stop this.
- 33:56Speaker 2: And I just that was for a what period of time.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Just last year, just last year in New York three
- 34:03Speaker 1: point two billion dollars being lost. And you know what
- 34:07Speaker 1: casinos open? Most people know the watter is a terrible bet.
- 34:11Speaker 1: It's fifty percent house d There's not a see this
- 34:13Speaker 1: casino behind us. There's not a game that's twenty five
- 34:16Speaker 1: percent house edge, never mind fifty fifty percent house edge.
- 34:20Speaker 1: I say house it's supposed to go to the state
- 34:22Speaker 1: and the the children education. Is that the rich something else?
- 34:27Speaker 2: Yeah, let's r let's use that word the rake, right, Yeah.
- 34:32Speaker 1: The fifty percent rake.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:33Speaker 1: And there's nothing nothing as bad as that in the
- 34:36Speaker 1: casinos except for it looks like this poker tournament but
- 34:39Speaker 1: close to it. But yeah, so anyway, it's amazing that
- 34:43Speaker 1: people even play with all these casinos opening and knowing
- 34:46Speaker 1: how bad. I didn't know when I was a kid.
- 34:48Speaker 1: I didn't know how bad the racetrack was twenty twenty
- 34:50Speaker 1: five percent. I didn't know a lottery is fifty percent.
- 34:52Speaker 1: You just play, you want to you want to play,
- 34:53Speaker 1: you want to gamble, but you're better off playing, you know,
- 34:58Speaker 1: any other game here right there at the sports book,
- 35:00Speaker 1: four and a half percent to just bet, you know, okay,
- 35:04Speaker 1: see or San Antonio four and a half percent. This
- 35:06Speaker 1: is this is over ten times worse to play the lottery.
- 35:09Speaker 1: But it's closet gambling, and it's done right there. No
- 35:13Speaker 1: one knows anything. It's the adrenaline rush, it's the you know,
- 35:16Speaker 1: I played scratch offs when I was a kid.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Is that all from scratchers or is that everything combined?
- 35:21Speaker 1: Everything combined three point two. It doesn't sound like a
- 35:24Speaker 1: lot right, But no, three point two billion with a
- 35:27Speaker 1: B three point two billion dollars. So that's the power
- 35:30Speaker 1: Ball Mega millions daily Keino.
- 35:33Speaker 2: And that's just New York.
- 35:34Speaker 1: That's that's that's just New York. That's just just one state.
- 35:37Speaker 1: According to the American Association's State Lottery Commission, let's see,
- 35:43Speaker 1: New York ranked fourth in the nation behind Florida. Wow,
- 35:46Speaker 1: Florida is number one. Come on more, this is just
- 35:50Speaker 1: real sales.
- 35:52Speaker 2: Probably more disposable. No more.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Florida nine point one three billion, California eight point nine
- 36:00Speaker 1: three billion, Texas seven point nine to one billion. Now,
- 36:06Speaker 1: New York had seven point eight billion in sales and
- 36:09Speaker 1: only returned and I'm sorry, seven point eight billion in
- 36:12Speaker 1: sales and out of that generated three point two billion
- 36:16Speaker 1: in profit.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Wow.
- 36:18Speaker 1: I cannot believe after covering operation overhead, a lottery directed
- 36:22Speaker 1: two point five billion in educational aid during the fiscal year. Sure,
- 36:26Speaker 1: but I just can't believe that these numbers. For some reason,
- 36:29Speaker 1: I just didn't think Florida retirees there's a lot of
- 36:32Speaker 1: money down there, I guess.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:33Speaker 1: I think California is a giant state that doesn't have
- 36:35Speaker 1: traditional gambling in a lot of places. And that's anyway.
- 36:40Speaker 1: It's just interesting, right John, that kind of money is
- 36:43Speaker 1: being Yeah, all the way.
- 36:44Speaker 3: I never was a lottery guy, even when I lived
- 36:46Speaker 3: in La once in a while. Yeah, hey, it's four
- 36:51Speaker 3: hundred million, all right, I go get some tickets.
- 36:54Speaker 1: So on a good note here, Las Vegas perceptions rebounded.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Here three and four people have positive views of Las Vegas.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Now I doubt that. So it's funny you just brought
- 37:06Speaker 2: that out.
- 37:06Speaker 1: No, we were.
- 37:07Speaker 3: We pulled out of WSP last night at about ten o'clock,
- 37:13Speaker 3: right ten o'clock on a Tuesday. Yeah, we're we're pulling
- 37:18Speaker 3: out of the Paris. So we're looking at the Bolagio,
- 37:20Speaker 3: the fountain, all that it is packed.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Oh nights game just got out.
- 37:26Speaker 3: Not right there, okay, I mean maybe maybe, but all right,
- 37:30Speaker 3: so there was just it was packed, packed on both.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Sidele packed people everywhere. Not dead Vegas.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Not dead.
- 37:37Speaker 2: It's Tuesday night.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I agree, this is a big difference. Crazy twenty tw
- 37:43Speaker 1: visitors expressed frustrations and supposedly greedy casinos, Well, greedy casinos.
- 37:49Speaker 1: They're still charging these ridiculous parking fees. Ridiculous resort fees. Yeah,
- 37:56Speaker 1: check in early fee. You know, someone sent something to
- 37:59Speaker 1: me the other day. I couldn't believe it I got.
- 38:02Speaker 1: I didn't even think about it till just now. Someone
- 38:05Speaker 1: sent this to me the other day. He got this
- 38:08Speaker 1: note about checking in early. At here it is no
- 38:14Speaker 1: late checkoff fee. So a late checkoff fay up to
- 38:17Speaker 1: one pm is one hundred and twenty five extra. This
- 38:21Speaker 1: is late checkout up to three pm is one hundred
- 38:23Speaker 1: and fifty extra. He got this. This is a new
- 38:25Speaker 1: text that they're used. You want to lay check out,
- 38:27Speaker 1: you're can have it at one hundred and fifty bucks
- 38:29Speaker 1: for another four hours, three hours, you know, like you know,
- 38:33Speaker 1: you just take care of the maid. Take care of
- 38:35Speaker 1: the maid in the halls. He listen, here's ten bucks
- 38:37Speaker 1: on we check it out in a couple hours. You
- 38:38Speaker 1: know that it's just ridiculous, these little shakedown fees. So
- 38:43Speaker 1: there's still I think there's still public opinion that's very
- 38:49Speaker 1: bad on the city and very down you know, the
- 38:51Speaker 1: destination itself. I don't know, this is not a low
- 38:55Speaker 1: roller town anymore so, but the majority thinks it does
- 38:58Speaker 1: provide value. It does if you're gonna come to town.
- 39:02Speaker 1: You have great meals, great shows. Even I'll say right now,
- 39:07Speaker 1: to do it. The poker tournaments. Yeah, you know you
- 39:09Speaker 1: want to do you can't do it.
- 39:10Speaker 3: It's not a dollar ninety nine steak and eggs anymore.
- 39:13Speaker 3: It's not not Vegas anymore.
- 39:15Speaker 1: No, it's not. And that's okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. The
- 39:19Speaker 1: average strip price has actually was actually down. Let me
- 39:24Speaker 1: read it from the beginning. Las Vegas visitor volume in
- 39:27Speaker 1: twenty twenty five was down seven point five percent. Through
- 39:29Speaker 1: March twenty twenty six. They have stopped the bleeding or
- 39:33Speaker 1: rebound hasn't really yet to come, but it's on its
- 39:35Speaker 1: way there. It says nine point seven four million people
- 39:39Speaker 1: have traveled to Vegas in the first quarter. That marked
- 39:42Speaker 1: a half a percent gain. And also the average room
- 39:46Speaker 1: rights nights are actually down a little bit, down to
- 39:50Speaker 1: two hundred and ten dollars on the strip one hundred
- 39:53Speaker 1: and four dollars downtown. So that's that's actually that made
- 39:58Speaker 1: it bring people back to so to see that though
- 40:01Speaker 1: I do want the town to succeed, we do have
- 40:03Speaker 1: some great things here that we do, and we live
- 40:06Speaker 1: in a reality show here. We really do. Being able
- 40:09Speaker 1: to come out every day and to live here. And
- 40:11Speaker 1: people always say they went, they're here. Oh I love
- 40:14Speaker 1: to move here, you know. They it's just it's a
- 40:17Speaker 1: tough town to live in. But you know, as far
- 40:19Speaker 1: as if you have any vices, very tough town to
- 40:23Speaker 1: live in. So but yeah, no, I actually said this,
- 40:27Speaker 1: but I won't let me talk about it. A different
- 40:30Speaker 1: I've seen. Just keep your head on a swivel in town.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Yeah too, I see some people that are certain not
- 40:39Speaker 1: only here if this happened, this story happened in Maryland. Yeah,
- 40:42Speaker 1: just keep your head on a swivel. I'm not going
- 40:43Speaker 1: to I don't want to end be in the negative
- 40:45Speaker 1: on everything. So keep your head on a swivel. I
- 40:49Speaker 1: thought I had something else to talk to you about. Oh,
- 40:51Speaker 1: so last week I went on my VSIN show on Thursday,
- 40:55Speaker 1: and I gave out something. I said, you know, week one,
- 40:57Speaker 1: the Raiders and minus three. I actual, she got them
- 41:00Speaker 1: ahead of time, bet the Raiders minus free and I
- 41:02Speaker 1: couldn't think of a Dolphins quarterback and everyone went crazy,
- 41:05Speaker 1: and so here it's you know, it's a quarterback that
- 41:08Speaker 1: wasn't the quarterback to it's gone. But it was on
- 41:12Speaker 1: that show, not this show. So people say, how can
- 41:14Speaker 1: you bet things you don't know that? It's real simple.
- 41:17Speaker 1: I worked with the best scent gambling syndicates in the world.
- 41:22Speaker 1: You know. I don't do a lot of the research
- 41:24Speaker 1: myself now, but I do a lot of the betting,
- 41:26Speaker 1: you know. So I don't have to know the name
- 41:29Speaker 1: of the quarterback. I know that every quarter I win.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Every year I win, you know, like I win money
- 41:34Speaker 1: bet in sports. So yeah, you guys keep your opinions.
- 41:38Speaker 1: Not not anyone they're watching this show. But it's just
- 41:41Speaker 1: kind of let's let's send on a good note here,
- 41:44Speaker 1: all right. So I'm not an in and out guy,
- 41:47Speaker 1: but my nieces when they come to town, they love
- 41:50Speaker 1: to go to In and Out. And my buddy from
- 41:52Speaker 1: Myrtle Beach for her, Frankie, loved to limousine takes him
- 41:55Speaker 1: right the In and Out Burger. So new construction photos
- 41:59Speaker 1: of the world's largest in and Out hits social media
- 42:02Speaker 1: this week, and Burger fans are salvating and reacting to
- 42:05Speaker 1: this secret menu. So they have a secret menu that's
- 42:09Speaker 1: gonna now that it's not the regular secret menu that
- 42:12Speaker 1: In and Out has. It's a second secret menu just
- 42:15Speaker 1: for this location. World's largest in and out Burger. I'm
- 42:17Speaker 1: gonna go check it out here.
- 42:18Speaker 3: Where is it?
- 42:19Speaker 1: So, it's it's right on the boulevard. Retail construction there
- 42:23Speaker 1: to like, right across from city Center really and across
- 42:27Speaker 1: from there's there's a couple of different things there. But yeah,
- 42:30Speaker 1: it's they're building up. I think Tilman Fatido owns the property.
- 42:33Speaker 2: It does so.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Yeah, so eight thousand square feet of indoor dining in
- 42:40Speaker 1: twenty five hundred outdoor paris. It's a massive eight thousand
- 42:44Speaker 1: square feet. Yeah. Yeah, they have a dedicated merchandise shop.
- 42:48Speaker 1: It's funny, my nieces one in and out church. They're
- 42:51Speaker 1: just like that. Really, there's all cool car designs and stuff.
- 42:54Speaker 1: So but I'm just on in guy, It's okay. It's
- 42:58Speaker 1: I don't think they're fro e Like. There's so many
- 43:00Speaker 1: good burger places we have here yea and fry places though,
- 43:04Speaker 1: But yeah, In and Out Burger coming to the Strip.
- 43:06Speaker 1: It's going to be open. That'll be cool. Yeah, all right, guys,
- 43:09Speaker 1: we'll catch you next week at Wisecracks and hopefully I'm
- 43:12Speaker 1: a loted in the World Series of Poker
