- 1:38Speaker 3: Monday edition of the show. Let me just say we
- 1:39Speaker 3: actually have decent weather to start to start us off
- 1:42Speaker 3: this week, and that makes me happy. Coming up this
- 1:46Speaker 3: morning as the flood cleanup continues in southern West Virginia
- 1:49Speaker 3: and eastern Kentucky for that matter, we have an event
- 1:53Speaker 3: that we're going to be doing on Wednesday on our
- 1:55Speaker 3: parking on here to eleven eleven to try to help
- 1:57Speaker 3: out do our little part of this we are going
- 2:00Speaker 3: to do is we're going to clear off our lot
- 2:01Speaker 3: here at eleven to eleven Virginia Street, East as we've
- 2:04Speaker 3: done in the past, and we're going to set up
- 2:06Speaker 3: shop allowing you the greatest listeners in the world to
- 2:09Speaker 3: drop off stuff. This time around, it's cleaning supplies. We're
- 2:12Speaker 3: teaming up with Union Mission and the Charleston Dirty Birds
- 2:15Speaker 3: and also Members Choice Federal Credit Union collect items for
- 2:18Speaker 3: flood to victims. And I'll go over the entire list
- 2:20Speaker 3: of what we are looking for because it is kind
- 2:22Speaker 3: of specific. Actually, I have it posted on my social
- 2:25Speaker 3: media on Dave Island Radio and also at Dave A
- 2:27Speaker 3: seventy on x if you'd like to check that out.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Logan Scott, who is the program director from one of
- 2:32Speaker 3: our stations here in the building, V one hundred, is
- 2:34Speaker 3: going to join us to talk about that big event.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Plus this weekend, if you're an outdoorsman or an outdoors person,
- 2:40Speaker 3: place to be is Morgantown for the West Virginia Fishing
- 2:43Speaker 3: Hunting an outdoor sports show at mylad Park. Rachelle Batty
- 2:46Speaker 3: will join us to talk about that and apparently your
- 2:50Speaker 3: humble radio host here set off a bit of a
- 2:51Speaker 3: social media firestorm over the weekend because I ask a
- 2:54Speaker 3: simple question. With all the flooding and devastation in southern
- 2:59Speaker 3: West Virginia and as I said, eastern Kentucky. Where's Donald Trump?
- 3:03Speaker 3: He has been remarkably silent during all this, especially since
- 3:06Speaker 3: we are a state in my opinion, that has been
- 3:08Speaker 3: over backwards for him. And we're going to get into
- 3:12Speaker 3: that coming up a little bit later on. Plus your
- 3:14Speaker 3: calls the text are welcome to Bigley Pickli Wiggly hotline
- 3:17Speaker 3: three zero four three four five fifty eight fifty eight.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Tony the Taylor Text three zero four nine three five
- 3:21Speaker 3: five zero zero way, want to welcome now to the show,
- 3:24Speaker 3: as joined by the name of Brian Connell. He is
- 3:26Speaker 3: the vice president of Federal Affairs at the Leukemia and
- 3:29Speaker 3: Lymphoma Society and a spokesperson for the group Keep Americans Covered.
- 3:33Speaker 3: He joins us, Now, Brian, good morning. Did I get
- 3:35Speaker 3: your last name right?
- 3:37Speaker 5: You sure did?
- 3:37Speaker 6: Thanks.
- 3:38Speaker 3: I wasn't sure what it was Colin or Kanal and
- 3:40Speaker 3: you've probably heard it both ways?
- 3:41Speaker 5: Right, that's right?
- 3:43Speaker 3: All right? Tell me about this group, Keep Americans Covered?
- 3:46Speaker 3: What is the group? What's it all about?
- 3:48Speaker 5: Yeah, so it's a good question. This group filled with
- 3:51Speaker 5: organization is like mine. So Leukemium Boma Society. You know,
- 3:54Speaker 5: we're out there fighting the four folks with the diagnosis
- 3:57Speaker 5: of a blood cancer, and there's all types of grew
- 4:00Speaker 5: representing all types of different patients and just everyday consumers
- 4:04Speaker 5: who are part of this group keep Americans covered. It's
- 4:07Speaker 5: a coalition that is fighting to keep healthcare affordable and
- 4:11Speaker 5: accessible for the fifty thousand West Virginians and twenty four
- 4:16Speaker 5: million Americans who rely on premium task credits to afford
- 4:19Speaker 5: their health insurance.
- 4:20Speaker 3: And these tax credits explain.
- 4:22Speaker 5: How they work, yeah, so you know, they are a
- 4:26Speaker 5: really key part of the way that we keep health
- 4:28Speaker 5: insurance affordable. It's already tough enough, but it's even harder
- 4:32Speaker 5: without these premium task credits. So folks qualify for the
- 4:36Speaker 5: task credits based on their income, and those task credits
- 4:39Speaker 5: go to helping keep the healthcare affordable for residents who
- 4:42Speaker 5: need it. So you know, we're thinking of these are
- 4:44Speaker 5: folks who are buying health insurance on the marketplace. A
- 4:48Speaker 5: lot of folks qualify who buy that coverage that way,
- 4:51Speaker 5: and includes you know, many of our small business owners,
- 4:54Speaker 5: small business employees, folks in really rural areas, families, hourly workers,
- 5:00Speaker 5: earlier retirees, all different types of folks who rely on
- 5:04Speaker 5: the marketplace to get their health insurance because they don't
- 5:06Speaker 5: necessarily get it from their employer, are using these tax
- 5:09Speaker 5: credits to make sure that they can afford the premiums
- 5:11Speaker 5: for their health insurance.
- 5:13Speaker 3: And you talked about the number of West Virginians. What
- 5:15Speaker 3: was that number again for West Virginians that rely on.
- 5:17Speaker 5: These Yeah, so fifty thousand West Virginians, so about the
- 5:21Speaker 5: side of Charleston rely on these premium task credits to
- 5:26Speaker 5: afford their health insurance.
- 5:28Speaker 3: And so obviously there's a lot of concerns because this is,
- 5:32Speaker 3: as you said, a national coalition, but there's a lot
- 5:34Speaker 3: of concerns here for the Mountain States specifically.
- 5:38Speaker 5: Exactly because you know, the challenge is these task credits.
- 5:43Speaker 5: If Congress doesn't act by the end of this year,
- 5:45Speaker 5: those task credits are going to be cut by more
- 5:48Speaker 5: than half for a lot of people. So if that happens,
- 5:51Speaker 5: healthcare costs are going to skyrocket for those fifty thousand
- 5:54Speaker 5: West Virginians. And you know, I think we can all
- 5:56Speaker 5: say those are folks that can't afford for their costs
- 6:00Speaker 5: and help their costs to suddenly skyrocket. Just you know,
- 6:03Speaker 5: I think example, a sixty year old couple could see
- 6:07Speaker 5: their premiums increase by thirty two thousand dollars a year,
- 6:12Speaker 5: and a family of four could see something closer to
- 6:14Speaker 5: eighteen thousand dollars a year. That's a burden that almost
- 6:17Speaker 5: no one can afford.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, exactly right. We're talking to Brian connell Agin,
- 6:21Speaker 3: who's the vice president of Federal Affairs at the Leukemia
- 6:24Speaker 3: Alymphoma Society and a spokesperson for the group Keep Americans Covered.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Let's talk about what people need to do. What's the
- 6:31Speaker 3: call to action here, as we say in the advertising world, Brian,
- 6:33Speaker 3: what do people need to do if they have concerns
- 6:35Speaker 3: about this?
- 6:37Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean hope boks are concerned because it is concerning.
- 6:39Speaker 5: You know, we don't want to folks to lose their health insurance.
- 6:41Speaker 5: So to learn more and to contact your local representatives
- 6:46Speaker 5: that represent you in DC, we'd ask folks to visit
- 6:51Speaker 5: Americans Covered dot org online, learn more about the issue,
- 6:56Speaker 5: learn more about what it means for West Virginia, and
- 6:58Speaker 5: be connected directly with your representatives. Senators, the folks who
- 7:02Speaker 5: are going to make a decision on whether these expire
- 7:05Speaker 5: at the end of the year. And we see a
- 7:06Speaker 5: big skyrocket and folks healthcare costs.
- 7:08Speaker 3: All right, Brian, very important stuff. I appreciate you taking
- 7:11Speaker 3: time on our schedule to join us. Man, thanks a lot,
- 7:13Speaker 3: have a great day. Thank you all right, Pantons Brian
- 7:16Speaker 3: Connell again. He is the vice president of Federal of
- 7:19Speaker 3: Affairs at the Leukemia and Lymphone with Society and a
- 7:22Speaker 3: spokesperson for the group. Keep Americans Covered with Dave Allen
- 7:25Speaker 3: Show and five eighty Live is brought to by Morgan
- 7:27Speaker 3: and Morgan, America's largest injury law firm. Coming up a
- 7:30Speaker 3: little bit later on the show, we're going to talk
- 7:31Speaker 3: about the West Virginia Fishing Hunting, an outdoor sports show
- 7:34Speaker 3: which is going to be held in Morgantown. This is
- 7:37Speaker 3: coming weekend. Rachelle Beatty will join us to talk about that,
- 7:41Speaker 3: and also we're going to be joined by Logan Scott,
- 7:43Speaker 3: program director and afternoon host here in the building our
- 7:46Speaker 3: sister station V one hundred to talk about our big
- 7:49Speaker 3: drive through campaign that we are going to be doing
- 7:52Speaker 3: to help out the flood victims in southern West Virginia.
- 7:55Speaker 3: We're teaming up with some really good folks like the
- 7:56Speaker 3: Charleston Dirty Birds and Union Mission and Members Choice Federal
- 7:59Speaker 3: Credit Union for this event on Wednesday, seven am till
- 8:03Speaker 3: six pm on our parking lot here at eleven eleven
- 8:06Speaker 3: Virginia Streets, Charleston. I understand I have a phone call,
- 8:09Speaker 3: so we'll go to the phones. Good morning, you're on
- 8:11Speaker 3: the show.
- 8:13Speaker 7: Well, good morning, how are you today?
- 8:15Speaker 3: It's it's my old friend Tim. I recognize the voice.
- 8:18Speaker 3: How you doing, buddy, Well.
- 8:21Speaker 7: Doing pretty good. I wanted to give you a call.
- 8:24Speaker 7: While I don't normally do social media, I don't read
- 8:29Speaker 7: the enquire either, for the same reason I did. I
- 8:33Speaker 7: did happen to see your post. And you know, that
- 8:37Speaker 7: is a good question. We've had significant flood damage and
- 8:41Speaker 7: you are right. West Virginia has done much for Donald Trump,
- 8:46Speaker 7: but we're not really seeing any flood relief here. And
- 8:49Speaker 7: really it seems like he's torn down the mechanisms to
- 8:52Speaker 7: receive that. You know, FEMA's lost several employees somewhere in
- 8:56Speaker 7: the thousands, and they're talking about abolishing it completely. So
- 9:00Speaker 7: what would even be the mechanism were we to get
- 9:02Speaker 7: that kind of declaration?
- 9:04Speaker 3: You know, And this goes back and I kind of
- 9:06Speaker 3: prefaced this the top of the show. I kind of
- 9:08Speaker 3: mentioned it that I had a little social media on
- 9:10Speaker 3: Saturday and Sunday talking about this, and I understand, and
- 9:14Speaker 3: I've been you know, I've spent a lot of time
- 9:16Speaker 3: in southern West Virginia, obviously being from there, and I
- 9:18Speaker 3: know how FEMA works and things of that nature. My
- 9:21Speaker 3: concern was the fact that Donald Trump hadn't even mentioned
- 9:24Speaker 3: it in anything that I have. But you're right with
- 9:27Speaker 3: the dismantling of some of these federal organizations. Although I
- 9:29Speaker 3: don't think it's going to be an overnight thing, there
- 9:31Speaker 3: are a lot of concerns about it, and this is
- 9:34Speaker 3: an area of the United States that is the And
- 9:38Speaker 3: I didn't mean this as an insult to him. I
- 9:39Speaker 3: just said the trumpiest of Trump in this part of
- 9:43Speaker 3: the world. And to my knowledge, there's not even been
- 9:46Speaker 3: a mention from the President about the flooding in southern
- 9:49Speaker 3: West Virginia and in eastern Kentucky.
- 9:54Speaker 7: And to be honest, we gotten my concerns about our
- 9:57Speaker 7: state government as well. A lot of people may be
- 10:01Speaker 7: familiar with the fact that they've promiltrated a call for
- 10:05Speaker 7: a survey response. They're having a survey on the damage response.
- 10:10Speaker 7: I have to say Frontier has had my phone out
- 10:13Speaker 7: for the past week. Fortunately, I've been able to call
- 10:16Speaker 7: in to you, but the Frontier hasn't been able to
- 10:18Speaker 7: get phone on, so that doesn't work. But calling, you know,
- 10:22Speaker 7: checking in on their disaster survey, you go online and
- 10:25Speaker 7: it's not working. You can't file there, it won't take addresses.
- 10:29Speaker 7: So then the next process is you dial two one one.
- 10:34Speaker 7: They don't return calls at two one one. You leave
- 10:36Speaker 7: a message and there's no call. And then and is
- 10:39Speaker 7: it true did the new Republican governor not announce that
- 10:44Speaker 7: the just passed reco Republican governor a four hundred million
- 10:49Speaker 7: dollar deficite we're facing from his misspending. Is that accurate?
- 10:53Speaker 3: Well, it depends on which metric you used him, because
- 10:58Speaker 3: that's that's what the incoming governor has said. But others
- 11:01Speaker 3: have said that's not entirely true. So I guess the
- 11:04Speaker 3: truth is somewhere in the middle. Possibly.
- 11:07Speaker 7: I would hope that the governor of the great State
- 11:10Speaker 7: of West Virginia would be telling the citizens the truth.
- 11:12Speaker 7: And I would also like for him to be speaking
- 11:16Speaker 7: about our disaster problem here and Donald Trump, you know
- 11:21Speaker 7: you are right, I mean, both Jim Justice and our
- 11:26Speaker 7: current president, current Governor Morrissey. They both knelt and kissed
- 11:29Speaker 7: the ring for Trump and just like Trump said, all
- 11:35Speaker 7: on your vote, I don't really care about you. Apparently
- 11:38Speaker 7: that's coming to fruition here because we are not seeing
- 11:41Speaker 7: any response whatsoever from the FEDS, and not only that,
- 11:44Speaker 7: like to say, we're seeing an erosion of their capability
- 11:47Speaker 7: to help folks out up these hills and hollows.
- 11:50Speaker 3: You know what.
- 11:51Speaker 7: Is the answer. If our own governor won't go and
- 11:53Speaker 7: plead the case, what are we going to do?
- 11:56Speaker 3: All right, Tim, I got to move on. I appreciate
- 11:58Speaker 3: your phone call. Thanks a lot. Dave Allen Show on five.

- 12:19Speaker 3: Got a couple of texts here, Tex says heard the
- 12:22Speaker 3: news to Dan Bongino is the new deputy director of
- 12:25Speaker 3: the FBI. Does that mean we don't have to hear
- 12:28Speaker 3: his mindless propaganda from noon till three on the radio
- 12:31Speaker 3: any longer? Do you think we can get someone who
- 12:34Speaker 3: isn't a right wing propaganda this to fill that slot.
- 12:37Speaker 3: I'd like to listen to the station more, but noon
- 12:39Speaker 3: to five am it's either sports or right wing propaganda,
- 12:44Speaker 3: says a Texter. Tex says ask Coop of Bongino going
- 12:48Speaker 3: off the air with the apployment, can we have Clay
- 12:51Speaker 3: and buck back? He gets the text as well as
- 12:54Speaker 3: I do. We'll we'll talk about that on you know,
- 12:57Speaker 3: I'll leave that up to the bosses. How's that? He says?
- 13:00Speaker 3: Saw you on Twitter? Trump doesn't offer thoughts and prayers
- 13:03Speaker 3: because he doesn't believe in gods outside himself. He's not
- 13:06Speaker 3: even culturally Christian, let alone. Plus the Christians that voted
- 13:09Speaker 3: for him know that deep down, but he provided the
- 13:12Speaker 3: access to power they want in government. Christianity is thoroughly
- 13:15Speaker 3: captured by politics. It is pathetic. We're going to take

- 17:09Speaker 13: Africa coming from Canada. So we're just so excited to
- 17:12Speaker 13: see your vendors. And we can't wait for you to
- 17:13Speaker 13: meet him too.
- 17:14Speaker 3: You know it's going to I've been I've been up
- 17:16Speaker 3: there a couple of times for this event, and I'm
- 17:18Speaker 3: not the most outdoorsy guy in the world, but I'll
- 17:20Speaker 3: tell you there is something for everybody to use the
- 17:23Speaker 3: advertising cliche if they and I understand that mister outdoors
- 17:25Speaker 3: Chris Lawrence is going to be there too, is that right?
- 17:27Speaker 12: He will? He will be there Saturday morning, and I guess.
- 17:31Speaker 3: He's doing his show from there, right, because that's what
- 17:33Speaker 3: he normally does.
- 17:34Speaker 12: Is that, yeah, absolutely right.
- 17:36Speaker 3: How many years has this been going on?
- 17:38Speaker 12: This is our twenty third year.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Twenty third year, and again it's a great family event
- 17:43Speaker 3: and the weather and I know it's been the same
- 17:46Speaker 3: up in Morgantown as what it has here. It's just
- 17:48Speaker 3: been crap, you know. It's so it'd be a good
- 17:50Speaker 3: opportunity for people to get out of the office or
- 17:53Speaker 3: get out of their homes, I should say, and start
- 17:56Speaker 3: looking forward to fishing season, hunting season later. But let's
- 18:00Speaker 3: take care of fishing season first. And there's going to
- 18:02Speaker 3: be a lot of outfitters, as you said there, and
- 18:04Speaker 3: a lot of big names people are going to recognize.
- 18:07Speaker 13: Oh yeah, absolutely. We have some special guests from West Virginia.
- 18:11Speaker 13: We have the Chase with Ted and Amber and Whitetail
- 18:13Speaker 13: Frenzy Kenny usually comes up for that one. And these
- 18:16Speaker 13: are our West Virginia folks who have their own shows
- 18:18Speaker 13: on Pursuit Channel Hunt TV. We also have Bad Outdoors coming,
- 18:22Speaker 13: Hunt Chef and Josh White's Outdoor Adventures. So great people
- 18:27Speaker 13: from all over and they want to meet you too.
- 18:30Speaker 3: And I'll tell you one of the things I say
- 18:32Speaker 3: about this is that to use the cliche, ladies. There
- 18:35Speaker 3: is something for the entire family there because the little kids,
- 18:38Speaker 3: the big kids. There's all sorts of demonstrations and things
- 18:40Speaker 3: of that nature. If you're an outdoors person, this is
- 18:43Speaker 3: definitely the place to be. And I know you've got
- 18:45Speaker 3: a Facebook page set up. Give us the website and
- 18:49Speaker 3: any other pertinent information. We're going to have you on
- 18:51Speaker 3: later in the week to get into more specifics, but
- 18:53Speaker 3: tell folks what they need to know.
- 18:56Speaker 12: The website is wv Outdoor Sports Show, that out Doorsportshow
- 19:01Speaker 12: dot com and you can find a full list of
- 19:03Speaker 12: all the seminars and schedule, ticket prices, hours and everything
- 19:07Speaker 12: on there.
- 19:08Speaker 3: All right, Well again, it's happening this weekend up at
- 19:11Speaker 3: Miland Park in Morgantown, and it's going to be a great,
- 19:14Speaker 3: great event. A lot of us will be up there.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Look forward to us seeing and talking and I'll talk
- 19:17Speaker 3: to you again about it later this week. As we
- 19:19Speaker 3: get closer, you'll have more things to add to it.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I'm sure I appreciate you both being here, Thank you,
- 19:23Speaker 3: Thank you. All right, Kelly and Rachelle there with the
- 19:27Speaker 3: West Virginia Fishing, Hunting and Outdoor Sports Show being presented
- 19:30Speaker 3: in Morgantown this coming weekend. It's going to be a great,
- 19:34Speaker 3: great time and again mister Outdoors Chris Lawrence will be
- 19:36Speaker 3: there and I think I do believe he's doing his
- 19:39Speaker 3: show live from there Outdoors today Westerngion Outdoors because he
- 19:42Speaker 3: does it every every year, I think pretty much. There
- 19:44Speaker 3: lots of seminars and stuff. And again, the weather has
- 19:46Speaker 3: not been the best in the world all wintertime long,
- 19:49Speaker 3: but there's an opportunity for you to get out and

- 21:11Speaker 3: what you don't know can hurt you. Let me get
- 21:13Speaker 3: to some text. Man, the textures are busy this morning, Texas.
- 21:18Speaker 3: I'm not a Trump voter, but this crusade attempting to
- 21:20Speaker 3: show Trump doesn't care about West Virginia is a ridiculous
- 21:23Speaker 3: stretch first planted by the West Virginia Democratic Party as
- 21:27Speaker 3: a tool to whip people up, but in reality it
- 21:29Speaker 3: will prove to be foolish, and promoted it will prove
- 21:32Speaker 3: to be even more foolish. Well, I am certainly not
- 21:35Speaker 3: a member of the West Virginia Democratic Party. I'm not.
- 21:39Speaker 3: I'm a registered independent, former Republican but now registered independent.
- 21:43Speaker 3: And I was not the first person that brought it up,
- 21:46Speaker 3: but I can certainly tell the Texter didn't. I'm not
- 21:49Speaker 3: in cahoots, if you will, with the Democratic Party of
- 21:52Speaker 3: the State of West Virginia. I just it's kind of
- 21:56Speaker 3: something that occurred to me, Like, where's where's Donald Trump
- 22:00Speaker 3: hearing all this? Tex says abolished FEMA. Those morons who
- 22:05Speaker 3: voted for Trump can just pull themselves up by their bootstraps.
- 22:08Speaker 3: You wanted an end of government handouts, so you shall
- 22:12Speaker 3: get it, says a Texture Texas Dave, I am conservative,
- 22:15Speaker 3: but I don't want to hear someone yapping three hours
- 22:17Speaker 3: on the radio. We need to fill that slot with
- 22:20Speaker 3: some good local shows and programming, says a Texture. This
- 22:23Speaker 3: is in reference to Dan Bongino being named what was
- 22:27Speaker 3: the title? I think Deputy director of the FBI, I
- 22:30Speaker 3: can tell you. And I'm not doing the programming side
- 22:32Speaker 3: of things here in the building. I don't know exactly
- 22:34Speaker 3: what's going to happen with the Dan Bongino show. I
- 22:37Speaker 3: was told by someone in the business that he's probably
- 22:40Speaker 3: going to continue it through March. I don't know that
- 22:42Speaker 3: that's a fact, but it And look, you know, the
- 22:46Speaker 3: thing about Bongino is as I will say this because
- 22:49Speaker 3: somebody on social media will ask about his credentials. I mean,
- 22:53Speaker 3: the guy does have an extensive secret service background, I
- 22:57Speaker 3: will say. And it's never good to a size your
- 23:00Speaker 3: own company. I'm not criticizing the company necessarily, but I'm
- 23:04Speaker 3: not necessarily a fan of the show. But that's just me.
- 23:07Speaker 3: That's just me. I was a huge Rush fan because
- 23:10Speaker 3: Rush was entertaining. I just don't know that I see
- 23:13Speaker 3: Dan Bongino as very entertaining. But that's just me. You know, everybody,
- 23:16Speaker 3: everybody's different. Texas, the Governor of West Virginia needs to
- 23:20Speaker 3: issue an executive order that says all lanes of interstate
- 23:23Speaker 3: cannot be shut down unless he personally approves it. In
- 23:27Speaker 3: no other state do emergency workers shut down entire interstates
- 23:30Speaker 3: it's almost exclusive to West Virginia and other places. Emergency
- 23:34Speaker 3: workers ensure at least one lane that's kept open to
- 23:36Speaker 3: reduce the dangers of backed up drivers who are stuck
- 23:40Speaker 3: with nowhere to go. Texas I sixty four is rolling
- 23:46Speaker 3: roadblocks for hole patching. It's open and moving slowly. I
- 23:50Speaker 3: appreciate the texture for throwing that out there. Text says
- 23:55Speaker 3: a lot of texts today. Good morning, Dave. Understand that
- 24:00Speaker 3: you're a Republican, and I'm not a Republican. I was,
- 24:04Speaker 3: but I'm not now, And from my point of view,
- 24:07Speaker 3: if you're a physical conservative, I get that, But how
- 24:10Speaker 3: do you explain the level of today's party? If Reagan
- 24:13Speaker 3: were to see how Trump is giving putin favors. I'll
- 24:17Speaker 3: just say that glad I caught that ahead of time,
- 24:21Speaker 3: he'd be rolling over in his grave like a rotisserie chicken.
- 24:24Speaker 3: This is unprecedented to let a civilian run a monk,
- 24:28Speaker 3: and it's wrong. What are your thoughts as a texture?
- 24:35Speaker 3: Let me just say that I think that we all
- 24:37Speaker 3: could agree that government does need some trimming. I don't
- 24:43Speaker 3: know myself that taking a sledgehammer or in elon musk
- 24:49Speaker 3: case a literal chainsaw to it is the way to go.
- 24:52Speaker 3: And now you're starting to see a little bit of
- 24:55Speaker 3: pushback even from what's the cash cash I mean telling
- 25:01Speaker 3: people not to answer the emails and what this has
- 25:05Speaker 3: to do with They sent out these emails to various
- 25:08Speaker 3: government workers saying, you know, explain what it is that
- 25:11Speaker 3: you do, Explain what you've done in the last week,
- 25:14Speaker 3: the last month or whatever, and uh the incoming dude
- 25:17Speaker 3: there cash battel told people not to answer it. So
- 25:20Speaker 3: could we be seeing little chinks in the armor here?
- 25:23Speaker 3: I don't know, Dex, says Dave. When I watch the
- 25:27Speaker 3: response to the flooding of the news, I don't see
- 25:30Speaker 3: the Westford International Guard out helping the southern towns recover.
- 25:34Speaker 3: You need to talk to Governor Morrisy concerning this and
- 25:36Speaker 3: have them explain things I have. Actually, I beg to
- 25:39Speaker 3: differ there because I know in Williamson the National Guard
- 25:41Speaker 3: has been out there. I do know that for a fact.
- 25:45Speaker 3: I saw some pictures of actually some friends of mine,
- 25:47Speaker 3: O we're at the Williamson Field House over the weekend
- 25:50Speaker 3: helping to distribute various things there. Let me see here, Dave,
- 25:58Speaker 3: Donald Trump has been golfing West Virginia didn't bend over
- 26:01Speaker 3: backwards for Trump. West Virginia been over Ford and said
- 26:03Speaker 3: please Daddy. And what do West Virginians expect when they
- 26:06Speaker 3: voted for Republicans who don't think the government is used
- 26:09Speaker 3: for anything other than cutting taxes for the wealthy?
- 26:14Speaker 14: Uh?
- 26:15Speaker 3: Texas, The Commerce Secretary said on the Fox Entertainment channel
- 26:18Speaker 3: that Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid will be going away.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Hope all these retirees, disabled people and seniors are ready
- 26:25Speaker 3: to get back in the workforce and earn their paychecks
- 26:27Speaker 3: and insurance MAGA sure is helping West Virginia, says a texture.

- 26:48Speaker 3: that Mexican actor doing some awkward arm gesture at seapack?
- 26:52Speaker 3: That Elon Musk did actions speak louder than words? When
- 26:56Speaker 3: are West Virginians going to start listening? As a tex
- 27:03Speaker 3: tex says, some of you people are despicable. You hate
- 27:06Speaker 3: someone only because they are conservative, and prove it every
- 27:09Speaker 3: second of every day with your constant rants. Before starting
- 27:12Speaker 3: his own show, Dan Bongino was a two thousand and
- 27:14Speaker 3: six Presidential Protection Division Secret Service agent, first assigned to
- 27:19Speaker 3: George W. Bush the second term. Then he was so
- 27:21Speaker 3: well trained at his position he continued protective duty for
- 27:24Speaker 3: Barack Obama through May twenty eleven. Educate yourselves and open
- 27:30Speaker 3: your closed mind. Just eighteeny bit, says a thankster Texas Dave,
- 27:36Speaker 3: checking in on the rocket ship ride. Also, Bongino is
- 27:40Speaker 3: a raving lunatic, perfect to join the most incompetent administration
- 27:44Speaker 3: of our time. Tex says, maybe Trump is too busy
- 27:51Speaker 3: trying to think of the five things he accomplished last week,
- 27:53Speaker 3: so we can send to elaw Okay, all right, now,
- 27:56Speaker 3: that was funny. That was funny. Dave Christy Noham immediately
- 28:01Speaker 3: contacted and spoke with Governor Morrissey concerning the flooding to
- 28:05Speaker 3: offer whatever help the state needed for recovery. Look it updates.
- 28:08Speaker 3: I will say this about Governor Morrissey. I think Governor
- 28:11Speaker 3: Morrisey's done a great job in this. Now there's always
- 28:14Speaker 3: people that are going to say that a government official,
- 28:17Speaker 3: president or whatever can do more, can do better, whatever.
- 28:19Speaker 3: But I think overall, I think I think Governor Morrisey's
- 28:22Speaker 3: done a great job. He was boots on the ground,
- 28:25Speaker 3: he's been right there, he's been touring the area. I
- 28:28Speaker 3: give him credit give I think Governor Morrisey has done

- 33:37Speaker 16: air freshener, scrub bushes bruh yeah, scrub brush brushes, and
- 33:42Speaker 16: hygiene kits as well.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Do you say that again? Scrub brushes I thought I
- 33:45Speaker 3: message up the first time. I don't think it did.
- 33:46Speaker 16: And also hygiene kits, so think of washcloths, towels, combs,
- 33:50Speaker 16: nail clippers, soap, tooth brushes, bandages, one gallon reusable bags
- 33:57Speaker 16: and again buckets. So we're gonna collec to all of
- 34:00Speaker 16: these items on Wednesday, seven am to six pm with
- 34:03Speaker 16: Union Mission and the Charleston Dirty Birds here at our
- 34:06Speaker 16: studios eleven eleven Virginia Street East. And again it's presented
- 34:09Speaker 16: by Members Choice Federal Credit Union.
- 34:11Speaker 3: Yeah, and again the great all three of those great,
- 34:14Speaker 3: great members of the community. And I will say this,
- 34:16Speaker 3: yesterday my wife was out running Samarns and spending money. Yeah,
- 34:21Speaker 3: that's her money. She can do what she wants to
- 34:22Speaker 3: do with it. But she made a trip to Dollar
- 34:25Speaker 3: Tree yesterday and she got a heck of a lot
- 34:29Speaker 3: of stuff that I have in my car that I've
- 34:30Speaker 3: got to bring in for not a whole lot of money.
- 34:34Speaker 3: She got a lot of those items at Dollar Tree. Yes,
- 34:37Speaker 3: dollar twenty five. There you go. Yeah, so you don't
- 34:39Speaker 3: have to spend a whole lot of money on these things.
- 34:41Speaker 3: And look, just like we say with the when we
- 34:43Speaker 3: did the sock drop, we had people. We had a
- 34:45Speaker 3: lady that brought in two hundred and fifty pairs of socks.
- 34:48Speaker 3: We had one person that came in and they had
- 34:51Speaker 3: one pair of socks. Absolutely we will. Well, I take
- 34:54Speaker 3: it back. They probably didn't have one, because I don't
- 34:56Speaker 3: know that you can buy one pair of socks, but
- 34:57Speaker 3: they buy they had a small packa But we'll take
- 35:01Speaker 3: it all because it all adds up, and we will.
- 35:03Speaker 15: Uh.
- 35:03Speaker 3: And again, if you've never gone through anything like this,
- 35:07Speaker 3: like the you know, there's there's nothing as nasty in
- 35:10Speaker 3: the world as a flood. I've been fortunate that I haven't,
- 35:15Speaker 3: but in my time in southern West Virginia, I have
- 35:17Speaker 3: seen enough of it. Just the mud, the muck, and
- 35:20Speaker 3: the smell that is everywhere, and just you you look
- 35:24Speaker 3: at when your homes, your businesses have been destroyed, logan,
- 35:28Speaker 3: you look at it like I don't even know where
- 35:31Speaker 3: to start, right and uh and and this, and there's
- 35:34Speaker 3: been so many people that have already stepped up to
- 35:38Speaker 3: the plate. And look, we are not doing this for
- 35:40Speaker 3: publicity or whatever. We're just doing something to help out.
- 35:43Speaker 3: And a lot of our stations in the company are
- 35:45Speaker 3: doing this for the serious parts of that that have
- 35:46Speaker 3: no ties at all right to southern West Virginia. We
- 35:49Speaker 3: and so many others just want to help.
- 35:51Speaker 16: Out absolutely, and you can help us help those in need.
- 35:54Speaker 16: This Wednesday, seven am to six pm. Again kitchen and
- 35:58Speaker 16: work gloves and not five masks, dish soap, air freshener,
- 36:03Speaker 16: scrub brushes, hygiene kits as well, towels, washcloths, combs, because
- 36:09Speaker 16: people are losing things in their house as well.
- 36:11Speaker 3: Yeah, so that the things that you think you never
- 36:14Speaker 3: have to buyoutely because like things like fingernail clippers, you think, well,
- 36:17Speaker 3: I don't know if I've ever bought a pair in
- 36:19Speaker 3: my life. I thought they just came with a house, right,
- 36:21Speaker 3: So it's it's the things like and and you can't
- 36:24Speaker 3: go wrong with good old cash. Absolutely we'll take that
- 36:26Speaker 3: as well. Yep.
- 36:27Speaker 16: And again teaming up with Union Mission and the Charleston
- 36:29Speaker 16: Dirty Birds for the disaster relief bucket drop this Wednesday.
- 36:33Speaker 3: All right, and again we'll start at seven And unlike
- 36:35Speaker 3: I mean the sock drop was amazing, but it was
- 36:38Speaker 3: a little cold. It was have good weather on Wednesday.
- 36:41Speaker 3: It's the weather is gonna be fantastic. It'll be a
- 36:43Speaker 3: little cloudy and like in the mid to upper sixties.
- 36:45Speaker 3: So unlike last time when when we were all looking
- 36:48Speaker 3: at each other, well, I thought it was your turn
- 36:50Speaker 3: to go out. I thought it was your everybody. Everybody's
- 36:52Speaker 3: gonna want to be outside up there out there to
- 36:54Speaker 3: help this, help us out. And again we'll start at
- 36:56Speaker 3: seven am. We'll go all the way to six pm.
- 36:58Speaker 3: And this is one of our events that we're all
- 37:00Speaker 3: involved with. You know, you represent V one hundred, I
- 37:03Speaker 3: represent the WHS in the Mountain. Steve Animal is going
- 37:06Speaker 3: to be there from the Mountain, Woody and the folks
- 37:08Speaker 3: from the Beat will be there, Rob and Chapel and
- 37:10Speaker 3: Crash from KWS. We all kind of come together for these.
- 37:13Speaker 16: Things and it's a it's a great event too, just
- 37:14Speaker 16: to see everybody come together in not just here but
- 37:17Speaker 16: company wide.
- 37:18Speaker 3: Like you said, all right, logan, what's going on at
- 37:21Speaker 3: V one hundred these days? I gonna give you a
- 37:22Speaker 3: little plug for your station across the hall. What are
- 37:24Speaker 3: you going going on these days? What exciting? Steve and
- 37:27Speaker 3: Jenny wake up with them.
- 37:29Speaker 16: You can tune in with me afternoons two to seven,
- 37:32Speaker 16: the drive At five I take your request for the
- 37:34Speaker 16: drive home, and at four twenty it's the now Trending Report,
- 37:38Speaker 16: so you get the latest in what's going on celebrity wise.
- 37:41Speaker 3: What did I I was listening the other day and
- 37:43Speaker 3: I heard you doing something and if I butcher the name,
- 37:45Speaker 3: I apologize. It was you're doing some kind of a
- 37:49Speaker 3: like a it's a retro thing. I know Jenny does
- 37:51Speaker 3: the thing with the eighties, but you're doing something like
- 37:53Speaker 3: a little newer retro like the two thousand.
- 37:55Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 37:56Speaker 16: Yeah, that is the two o'clock two K song of
- 37:58Speaker 16: the day. So I feature a song from like twenty
- 38:01Speaker 16: to twenty fifteen.
- 38:02Speaker 3: And people listening going, well, that's not retro, it kind
- 38:05Speaker 3: of is.
- 38:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:06Speaker 3: Yeah, classic rock now you want classic rock, and retro
- 38:09Speaker 3: now is two thousand and five. Yeah, so keep that
- 38:11Speaker 3: in mind.
- 38:12Speaker 16: Well, and I so I grew up listening to two thousands.
- 38:15Speaker 16: I'm like, there are so many I don't want to
- 38:16Speaker 16: say lost hits, but lost hits of the two thousands
- 38:19Speaker 16: that you know it's good to pull out of the vault.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Yeah, And well, you're doing good stuff over there, man,
- 38:24Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 38:24Speaker 16: You can stream us online V one hundred dot FM
- 38:26Speaker 16: or tune in ninety nine point nine and all you get.
- 38:28Speaker 3: To do is tell one of us in the building
- 38:30Speaker 3: and talk about your station, and then they're all about it.
- 38:32Speaker 5: Man.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Loogan Scott, program director in the afternoon host of V
- 38:35Speaker 3: one hundred. I appreciate you being here man, Thanks a lot,
- 38:37Speaker 3: and I'll see you out on the lot on Wednesday.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Let me knock out a bunch a text here, Tex says,
- 38:43Speaker 3: in addition to cleaning products, will you possibly accept pet foods? Also?
- 38:47Speaker 3: I saw reports that the shelters got here hit hard.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Also they got the animals out, but the lost dog
- 38:53Speaker 3: and can't fit. So yeah, like, we're not going to
- 38:55Speaker 3: turn anything away. Those are just the things that we
- 38:58Speaker 3: that people are asking for that we talk to the people,
- 39:02Speaker 3: and Union Mission is going to help us facilitate all
- 39:04Speaker 3: these items down there. But talking to people that are
- 39:06Speaker 3: actually boots on the ground right now, that have been
- 39:08Speaker 3: there since last weekend when this flood first hit, those
- 39:11Speaker 3: are the things that they specifically ask for, those things
- 39:14Speaker 3: that we that Logan just mentioned. But you want to
- 39:18Speaker 3: give something else, Again, We're not going to turn anything
- 39:20Speaker 3: away because everything, everything can be used. And again you

- 44:26Speaker 3: Thanks well, Governor Morrissey has always welcome on this show.
- 44:28Speaker 3: He has not been on this show as far as
- 44:32Speaker 3: since he became the GOVNA, but he's always welcome on
- 44:35Speaker 3: this show, and I know he's always welcome on with
- 44:37Speaker 3: TJ and Dave on talk Line as well. So let
- 44:40Speaker 3: me in case you joined s late. I want to
- 44:44Speaker 3: get back to this President Trump thing for a moment,
- 44:47Speaker 3: and I've had like three or four at least. I
- 44:49Speaker 3: know people followed me on social media because I had
- 44:51Speaker 3: the caller that talked about it. Then I had people
- 44:55Speaker 3: texting the show about it too, basically all I was doing.
- 45:00Speaker 3: And I did a written post on my social media
- 45:04Speaker 3: on Saturday, and then I did an actual recorded that's
- 45:07Speaker 3: the Sunday Dave look, you know, with the baseball cap
- 45:10Speaker 3: on and a flannel shirt on yesterday, basically asking, as
- 45:15Speaker 3: it pertains to the flooding in southern West Virginia and
- 45:17Speaker 3: eastern Kentucky, where has President Donald Trump been? And I
- 45:22Speaker 3: get it, As I said earlier, I understand that things
- 45:25Speaker 3: take time, and again I applaud Governor Morrisey for being
- 45:28Speaker 3: in the area. I think he's done a stellar job
- 45:30Speaker 3: in my opinion. But unless I just missed it, I
- 45:38Speaker 3: don't know that Donald Trump. President Donald Trump has even
- 45:41Speaker 3: mentioned the flooding in southern West Virginia. And again, I
- 45:44Speaker 3: understand the you know, FEMA, and I understand red tape
- 45:47Speaker 3: and so on and so forth, but he's a sea
- 45:50Speaker 3: pack over the weekend. How about he just say and
- 45:57Speaker 3: our thoughts and prayers are with the people of other
- 46:00Speaker 3: in West Virginia and eastern Kentucky with all its horrible flooding.
- 46:03Speaker 3: That's kind of what I was getting at. Now. I know,
- 46:06Speaker 3: thoughts and prayers aren't going to get your basement cleaned out.
- 46:09Speaker 3: I get that, but at least to show a little
- 46:12Speaker 3: bit of empathy here to say, you know how devastating
- 46:19Speaker 3: it was, especially in an area where President Donald Trump
- 46:25Speaker 3: is basically a deity. I had someone on social media
- 46:32Speaker 3: when I did my post on Saturday. Someone commented and said,
- 46:36Speaker 3: you can count me as one of those who worships
- 46:39Speaker 3: Donald Trump. And I'm thinking, ain't nobody south of Heaven
- 46:46Speaker 3: that I worship. I can tell you that right now,
- 46:48Speaker 3: whether it's Donald Trump or whomever. So, I mean, you
- 46:52Speaker 3: can like a person, whether it's a politician or an
- 46:54Speaker 3: athlete or whatever, actor or singer or whatever, but as
- 46:57Speaker 3: far as worshiping somebody, Heck, no, I ain't a worship
- 47:00Speaker 3: and anybody on this earth. I can tell you that
- 47:03Speaker 3: I don't know. I just I just was kind of
- 47:05Speaker 3: just just wondering Texas. FEMA won't come in until invited
- 47:11Speaker 3: by the state. No request for a declaration means no FEMA.
- 47:15Speaker 3: It's a texture Texas, dave. I see now the Sheriff's
- 47:20Speaker 3: department giving purple hearts to wounded police. It's a slap
- 47:23Speaker 3: in the face to veterans I did. I was not
- 47:26Speaker 3: aware of that. TJ. Meadows is here, Hey man, how
- 47:30Speaker 3: are you sir?
- 47:31Speaker 14: Oh?
- 47:31Speaker 3: You know, just don't what I do. Don't want to
- 47:33Speaker 3: do here.
- 47:34Speaker 19: I got a pull up on X that might be
- 47:36Speaker 19: topical right now with what you're talking about the poll,
- 47:39Speaker 19: says a friend.
- 47:40Speaker 3: It's a TJ. Meadows three or four by the way,
- 47:42Speaker 3: on X.
- 47:43Speaker 19: Friend and colleague Amanda Baron recently reported that FEMA is
- 47:46Speaker 19: currently conducting joint preliminary damage assessments in West Virginia, a
- 47:51Speaker 19: first step before a major disaster declaration in requested areas.
- 47:55Speaker 19: In your opinion, Trump will declare it, Trump will not
- 47:59Speaker 19: declare it. Trump is late in acting so far. Forty
- 48:03Speaker 19: six point six percent say he will declare it, eight
- 48:06Speaker 19: point one percent say he will not, forty five point
- 48:09Speaker 19: three percent say he is.
- 48:11Speaker 3: Late in acting. I don't see how he doesn't declare it.
- 48:13Speaker 3: I mean, I'll I'll be honest with you, I bet
- 48:15Speaker 3: I would be one of those that says he's probably
- 48:18Speaker 3: probably late in declaring. But again, but again, it's not
- 48:23Speaker 3: just about the declaration. To me, what what rubbed me
- 48:27Speaker 3: the wrong way was the fact that we have not
- 48:29Speaker 3: heard a damn thing out of the President of the
- 48:31Speaker 3: United States on this flooding. That's what That's what got me.
- 48:35Speaker 19: Wouldn't be hard, would it to maybe drop a line
- 48:37Speaker 19: or or say some ten seconds I will say this, Dave.
- 48:40Speaker 19: My sources on this tell me that what is being
- 48:44Speaker 19: promised on the ground in terms of FEMA relief will
- 48:49Speaker 19: not bring the area back and will be less than
- 48:52Speaker 19: what FEMA will provide even under a Trump declaration. So
- 48:58Speaker 19: what I am hearing is that the promises that are
- 49:01Speaker 19: being made and the level of support that will come,
- 49:06Speaker 19: or that is promise that will come, is different from reality.
- 49:10Speaker 19: That's what I am being well.
- 49:11Speaker 3: And again, this area, and this is an area that
- 49:15Speaker 3: specifically I'll talk about Mingo McDowell County, I'm very familiar
- 49:18Speaker 3: with in areas that are no strangers to this type
- 49:22Speaker 3: of flooding, but many people, and if you've heard the interviews,
- 49:27Speaker 3: Jeff spent time down there, Chris spent time down there.
- 49:29Speaker 3: You and mister Wilson are going to be down there
- 49:32Speaker 3: doing talk line from there on Thursday. They spent time there.
- 49:35Speaker 3: They talk to people who have said TJ that this
- 49:37Speaker 3: flooding is at a level to which many and people
- 49:41Speaker 3: in my part of the world where I'm from, harken
- 49:43Speaker 3: back to like nineteen seventy seven, some go back to
- 49:46Speaker 3: nineteen sixty three. Many of them will say that this
- 49:49Speaker 3: is flooding and devastation that they've never seen before.
- 49:53Speaker 19: And you have to wonder how many times do you
- 49:56Speaker 19: go through that before you say enough is enough and
- 49:59Speaker 19: you leave. The things that's emerging from Jeff's reporting is
- 50:03Speaker 19: that folks on the ground there are saying, we just
- 50:05Speaker 19: hope we don't lose more people. We hope we don't
- 50:08Speaker 19: lose more people. At some point, Dave, I think you
- 50:10Speaker 19: reach your limit. You go through this a number of times,
- 50:13Speaker 19: and you think about moving on and getting out, and
- 50:15Speaker 19: these events tend to have that effect. So it will
- 50:19Speaker 19: be interesting to see how many folks, out of just
- 50:23Speaker 19: desperation being plain worn out by what happens, say it's
- 50:27Speaker 19: time to go.
- 50:28Speaker 3: It is a very economically depressed area, and you have
- 50:32Speaker 3: a lot of older folks. West Virginia in general, it
- 50:34Speaker 3: is the oldest station of the nation, so oldest state,
- 50:36Speaker 3: I should say. So you have a lot of people
- 50:38Speaker 3: that probably don't have the time, the money, or the
- 50:41Speaker 3: energy fair to move. You know, there's not a I mean,
- 50:45Speaker 3: I would hazard to say there was probably very few
- 50:48Speaker 3: twenty five year olds that got flooded down there.
- 50:50Speaker 19: These could assistance be used to helping that could federal
- 50:53Speaker 19: assistants be used to help propel that.
- 50:54Speaker 3: I don't know, I'm asking. I don't know. Maybe all right,
- 50:57Speaker 3: may not got a couple of texture. Then we'll preview

- 51:04Speaker 3: is this a comedy show? That's a text? Well, it's
- 51:06Speaker 3: been called that. Text says Dave. I hear that President
- 51:11Speaker 3: Trump has played golf ten of his first thirty days
- 51:13Speaker 3: as president. Is that true? I don't know. I have
- 51:18Speaker 3: seen a lot of people asking about the amount of
- 51:21Speaker 3: time that President Trump has spent playing golf. I don't know, don't.
- 51:24Speaker 3: I can't back that up, so I don't.
- 51:25Speaker 19: And I don't care. I care about the job he does.
- 51:27Speaker 19: I don't care if you play golf eight days a week.
- 51:28Speaker 19: If you're getting the job done, I don't care if
- 51:31Speaker 19: you're a Democrat, Republican, Independent. If you're getting the job done,
- 51:34Speaker 19: I don't care what you do in your leisure time.
- 51:35Speaker 3: Tex says, if Republicans want to run the government like
- 51:38Speaker 3: a business, why would they invest in an area that's
- 51:40Speaker 3: been continually losing population and businesses for decades? In a
- 51:44Speaker 3: business mind, that is a bad investment, says a text or.
- 51:48Speaker 3: I will say this, and then we got to go.
- 51:51Speaker 3: I will say that there's been a whole lot of
- 51:53Speaker 3: money over the years spent in McDowell County to try
- 51:57Speaker 3: to get people to move there, and it ain't work.
- 52:00Speaker 3: Get any worn't all right? What do you got going
- 52:03Speaker 3: on on the show today?
