- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Ooh, so how often do you think about how things should be?
- 0:37Instead of how things are interesting, question to ask
- 0:42yourself, because we spend so much time future pacing, you
- 0:46know, we spend so much time thinking about what could be,
- 0:50what we want out in the future. It's actually very addictive and
- 0:53it can cause quite a bit of problems, as much as it's great
- 0:57to have goals. And Lily me, I'm a huge.
- 1:01Setter of intentions, and goals and everything else spending too
- 1:04much time out in the future or spending too much time thinking
- 1:07about. What's next, is the killer of
- 1:11the Soul. So to speak because we
- 1:13constantly are not where we are and as anybody who ever studied
- 1:18mindfulness will tell you, mindfulness is being in the
- 1:21moment and enjoying where you are right now.
- 1:24Like for the, for this moment, I'm in the chicken coop, the
- 1:27girls are having breakfast, it's very cold here.
- 1:30Morning for us, everybody's having oatmeal and blueberries
- 1:34and chia seeds and you can hear them.
- 1:36They're all like super happy about it, and I'm just with you
- 1:40and them here. Could my brain instantly shift
- 1:44out to what's next for the day. What do I have to get done?
- 1:47The haircut. I need to get my son to all the
- 1:50Christmas shopping that needs to be done, the to-do list running
- 1:53in my head, trying to decide which way to go.
- 1:55So I avoid traffic. Yes, I could do all those things
- 1:59and not to mention worrying about things.
- 2:02I need to proofread for clients content, that needs to be
- 2:05written. I could pick a myriad of things
- 2:08to choose to not be in the moment.
- 2:10But in that moment, I would be Still doing things.
- 2:13I might be folding laundry, I might be running around, I might
- 2:16be sleeping but my brain is not present on what I'm doing and
- 2:19this future pacing piece of us is always present.
- 2:23We talked about it before but it's always present.
- 2:26But why we're talking about it? Specifically today is when this
- 2:29involves other people and how we think something should be with
- 2:33other people. So for instance, with the
- 2:36holidays coming up. What often happens is, we
- 2:39believe our holiday should go the way we want it to.
- 2:42To go and somebody else in our family may believe, they want it
- 2:46to go how they want it to go. And in the, you know, in this
- 2:50whole process of sorting out who's going, where who's doing?
- 2:54What? Who's getting one?
- 2:55Whose responsibility to do. What lots of times?
- 2:58There's shooting, like, I should do this.
- 3:01I should do this, even though I don't want to do this.
- 3:04Boy. What problems does this cause
- 3:06and it gets even further complicated when we say, you
- 3:10know what, he should do this, or she should do this and we start
- 3:14putting our rules on other people and the world blows up at
- 3:19that point. How someone should act what they
- 3:22should expect? You know, we often do this with
- 3:25our children and we as adults think, well, you should do this
- 3:30and you should act this way. And whether our children are
- 3:35Fifteen twenty twenty seven doesn't matter, we will still do
- 3:40it because we think we know best and often that's what causes our
- 3:44pain and our problems, because we start the should train and we
- 3:49continue on it and we refused to get off because we think we're,
- 3:53right, and we will die on the hill so to speak because we will
- 3:58not get off the should train. And if you would love to know
- 4:02the secret to getting off, the should Train.
- 4:05It's really a simple concept, not easy to execute, but it's
- 4:09simple. You have to stop using your
- 4:12emotions. Your feelings your wishes and
- 4:15putting them on someone else and expecting them to hold those
- 4:18wishes true. You have to realize that
- 4:21everybody has their own path, their own purpose there, it
- 4:25doesn't matter if they're your child doesn't matter if they're
- 4:27your parent. None of that matters.
- 4:29They have their own Direction, their own way.
- 4:32They're going to go and when Are looking at this upcoming holiday
- 4:37season or situations. You might currently be in and
- 4:40you feel yourself going well, you know, she's doing this
- 4:44wrong. She shouldn't be with these
- 4:46people. She shouldn't be here.
- 4:47Talking to them. She shouldn't be wasting her
- 4:49money on this. The are he shouldn't be going
- 4:51out there. He shouldn't be dating, this
- 4:53person. Whatever it might be, you have
- 4:56to stop and collect yourself and say, my world is my business.
- 5:01Meaning my ecosystem of me, just me, there are plenty of things
- 5:06that you can focus on for yourself and worry about for
- 5:09yourself. And yes, it's really hard when
- 5:11you have children, or are you have parents that are elderly or
- 5:14people you care for, or workers? And you are concerned for them,
- 5:18but no matter how much you're concerned for those people, it's
- 5:22never going to drive them to make the choices you want them
- 5:26to make unless they're compelled to do it themselves.
- 5:29The compulsion to do it themselves.
- 5:31Is what is so important they have to want to do.
- 5:34They have to come to you and say, what do you think of this?
- 5:37And even when you give them your advice, they may not take it.
- 5:39So you have to say listen I'm happy to tell you what I think,
- 5:42however you're not obligated to do it and I'm not going to hold
- 5:45anything against you for not doing it, and just making those
- 5:48declarations helps so much. And you have to trust that you
- 5:52have to hold space in yourself for those people.
- 5:56Meaning you just continue to love them.
- 5:59Silently you, let them know verbally.
- 6:01You love them. I love you.
- 6:02I love you. No matter what happens.
- 6:04I love. Love you, and things seem to
- 6:06always work themselves out. When you make space, it's when
- 6:10you resist, that's the problem. So today I ask you to please.
- 6:15Look at where you're shooting all over yourself as well as
- 6:18others and stop it and don't let that happen.
- 6:21Don't allow those rules to ruin your holiday season.
- 6:24Don't allow things to show up that don't feel good because you
- 6:28ultimately have control over that piece of it, my friends.
- 6:32I hope you have a very blessed day and I I will see you
- 6:35tomorrow. Bye.
