- 0:00Welcome to Frontline Static, we will get to hear interviews with
- 0:02some of my clients journeys of getting into flight and how they
- 0:05utilize coaching to help them create success of getting hired
- 0:08with less confusion and more ease.
- 0:10Make your dream a reality of getting into flight.
- 0:12Listen in as you hear some of the stories of the people
- 0:14getting there and come join the Flight Prep group.
- 0:16This week's podcast episode is a replay of the webinar How to
- 0:20Jump Start Your Journey in Three Simple Steps.
- 0:22I talked to you about the three common things that I see people
- 0:25focusing on that are having them take longer or having them fail
- 0:28all together getting to flight, and the three things that you do
- 0:30want to focus on that will jump start your journey into flight.
- 0:33I have created an entire course now that you can watch online on
- 0:37demand in this three-part series.
- 0:39In this course, these three things that I talked about that
- 0:42you want to focus on are one belief and mindset and growing
- 0:45your confidence and critical thinking skills to get to
- 0:47flight. The second one is mapping out
- 0:49your plan. No matter where you are
- 0:51starting. I teach you the things that you
- 0:52want to focus on and what things you want to cut out so that you
- 0:55don't hustle and overwork to get there.
- 0:57And then the third video that you'll see is how to do ride
- 1:00alongs and make connections with flight companies.
- 1:02Now, no matter where you are starting in this, this course is
- 1:05available for you to purchase now for $97.00 and you will have
- 1:09lifetime access to this course with your own member login and
- 1:14password. If you know that flight nursing
- 1:16is what you, if you want, come join us in the Jumpstart flight
- 1:19course. You will be able to purchase
- 1:21this now and you can go to the link in the bio.
- 1:23I hope you guys enjoy this workshop and I hope that you are
- 1:26fueled to jumpstart your journey into flight journey to flight.
- 1:29That would be great. Most of you guys know me from
- 1:33Instagram. My name is Janessa.
- 1:35I help nurses and paramedics on a daily basis gain more
- 1:38confidence to get into flight nursing.
- 1:40I really work with people who know that flight flight nursing
- 1:45or flight paramedicine is really what they want to do.
- 1:48And I was a flight nurse for seven years.
- 1:52So I sat in a lot of flight interviews.
- 1:54I helped train a lot of new nurses, a lot of new paramedics
- 1:57in that time. And I know what flight companies
- 1:59are looking for. So because of this, I've created
- 2:02an entire program where I help you map out your plan and get
- 2:07there in a shorter amount of time so that you're not spending
- 2:10tons of years trying to gain a lot of time and experience.
- 2:15And we're going to talk about this.
- 2:16I meet a lot of people who are either from nursing school or
- 2:21people who have been critical care nurses for 20 to 30 years.
- 2:24And the same thoughts always come up.
- 2:27I don't know enough. I don't have enough time and
- 2:28experience. So I really have just created
- 2:31this program that can make help you get there in a simple,
- 2:34doable way and also combine the mindset portion of it where
- 2:38we're really talking about growing your confidence, working
- 2:43through imposter syndrome, working through some of these
- 2:45doubts and some of these thoughts.
- 2:47And so that's really what sets my program apart from others out
- 2:51there. OK, great.
- 2:53From Florida. Yes, ERRN, ready to move towards
- 2:56your goal. I love this.
- 2:57Like I really work with people who know that flight is what
- 3:01they want to do and they just don't know where to start.
- 3:03And so today we're going to talk about the three steps to kind of
- 3:07jump start your journey into flight.
- 3:09I'm also going to share with you the three common things that I
- 3:12see people working on that are either taking them longer or
- 3:15have them failed together. And then I'm going to point out
- 3:17the first three things to jump start your journey to flight.
- 3:21So you're really here because you know that flight nursing or
- 3:24flight paramedicine is is what you want, but you're what's
- 3:28getting in your way are thoughts and obstacles like common ones.
- 3:31I hear is I don't know enough. I don't have enough time
- 3:33experience or you just simply don't know where to start.
- 3:36I meet a lot of people that are like, I've spent hours, days on
- 3:41a daily basis Googling how to get there.
- 3:43I have so many misconstrued opinions.
- 3:47People are telling me different requirements.
- 3:48And so today I'm really going to help you set yourself straight
- 3:53and focus on these three things which will get you hired.
- 3:56I want to start out this webinar by just telling you guys that
- 4:01you belong here in flight. I know the underlying thoughts
- 4:06of I'm not good enough, I don't have enough time and experience
- 4:09is that you don't belong here. And I want you to know if this
- 4:12is a goal that you really want, it is available to you.
- 4:15And as long as you want it and you're willing to work hard for
- 4:19it, you will get it. And you belong in this industry.
- 4:22It's not for the Super smart people or the people who know
- 4:27everything. It's for the people who are
- 4:29willing to to believe that they belong there, that they're
- 4:33capable, and the people who are willing to not quit and give up.
- 4:39So I'm going to show you today on this webinar how to jump
- 4:41start your journey into flight in a simple, doable way.
- 4:45In this training. I'm going to talk to you about
- 4:46the three things that people think they need to be focusing
- 4:49on to get in the flight, but that are actually taking them
- 4:52longer or having them fail altogether or, and I'm going to
- 4:54talk to you about the three simple steps to focus on that
- 4:57actually will get you hired into flight.
- 4:59So the three things, common things that I see people look
- 5:03taking time on that have them take longer or have them fail is
- 5:07focusing on time and experience. So in the chat box, if this is
- 5:12something that you have been doing, put it in there.
- 5:15Let me know if this is you. Most people that I talked to,
- 5:18they think that they need to be working both ER and ICU.
- 5:23And so because of this, I see them jumping around from
- 5:26department to department trying to get more time and experience
- 5:30and just outrunning the thought. I don't know enough.
- 5:33And then when they try to get more time and experience, then
- 5:36they're like, OK, I did ICU for example, now let's move to ER.
- 5:40And then after they move to ER then they're like, well, I don't
- 5:43have any pediatric experience. So then they go to peeds and
- 5:46then after peeds they're like, I don't have any cardiac device
- 5:48experience. So then they move to CVICU and
- 5:51then after that they're like, well, I guess I need some pre
- 5:53hospital or my paramedic. And then they try to do pre
- 5:55hospital and it just compiles more and more and more time of
- 6:01of getting there. OK, great.
- 6:04Samantha put from New York City, 11 years ER and that you've been
- 6:11interested for a long time, but you haven't felt confident
- 6:12enough. You don't know where to start.
- 6:13OK, perfect. You're in the perfect spot.
- 6:15Samantha, I'm going to talk to you about where to start.
- 6:18And we're going to talk a little bit about why growing your
- 6:21confidence is so important in this process as well.
- 6:24Okay, so that's the first one. So when you change departments
- 6:29to departments, the way that I see this is around the one to
- 6:33two year mark is where you guys start to be a little bit more
- 6:36comfortable in the department or unit you're working in.
- 6:39So let's just say you started out in the ER and you're like
- 6:41one to two year, you're like, I'm feeling a little bit more
- 6:44comfortable. That's where I see you starting
- 6:45to jump around, but that's not where you want to jump around.
- 6:48You want to stay in the unit that you're currently in.
- 6:51And I'm going to tell you why in the next step after this, but
- 6:55This is why it's taking people longer.
- 6:58The only requirement for for flight in the United States for
- 7:02the majority of flight companies is 3 years ER or ICU experience.
- 7:07They don't even require certifications anymore.
- 7:11And because of that, I, I just see people chasing a lot of
- 7:14search, which is going to be the next thing I talk about and
- 7:17chasing a lot of different departments and time and
- 7:19experience. So the I'm going to just say it
- 7:21again, because sometimes I think you guys miss it.
- 7:24It only requires for the flight companies, United States for the
- 7:28majority of them just three years ER or ICU experience, no
- 7:33certifications and majority of them no trauma courses.
- 7:37But I see you guys spending so much time focusing on them.
- 7:39So that's the first one trying to gain all the time and
- 7:42experience. I'm going to give you a solution
- 7:45to this in in in the first step. And the the second thing that I
- 7:49see people really focusing on is gaining getting more certs.
- 7:55So I know this because people come to me and they're they say,
- 7:58OK, I'm studying for the CEN, I've already taken the CCRN.
- 8:03What's the next should I take the TCRN?
- 8:05And I sell and I tell them you actually don't need any
- 8:08certification to get hired in the flight.
- 8:10The reason why I tell them this is that flight companies are
- 8:12actually moving away from requiring this because they are
- 8:15requiring the CFRN, the certified flight nurse national
- 8:20certification within one to two years of getting hired with
- 8:23them. Now I don't even recommend
- 8:25taking it or unless you're really, really good test taker,
- 8:28just because it makes more sense to wait and take it with the
- 8:32company. They will pay for the course,
- 8:34they will pay for your study material.
- 8:36So I always say wait to take it, but they are not even requiring
- 8:40A certification. So if you are a good test taker
- 8:43and you feel like you do want to have a national cert, just get
- 8:47one. So if you work in the ER
- 8:49department, just get your CEN. If you work in the ICU, just get
- 8:52your CCRN. Don't spend extra time and
- 8:55energy and money like these courses and the materials that
- 8:58can add up to so much money getting more.
- 9:01So if you do feel like you want to have one, just get one.
- 9:05But I do want to offer you, if you are at like the two year
- 9:08mark, don't spend time studying for this.
- 9:10You want to spend time really focusing on interview prep.
- 9:13I'm helping people get hired at the 2 1/2 year mark.
- 9:16So that's why I say at two years you really want to start doing
- 9:20focusing on interview prep specifically for flight
- 9:23interviews because that's really where you want to start making
- 9:26out interviews and hopefully get hired at the 2 1/2 year mark.
- 9:30Like I said, people working with me are getting hired before the
- 9:32three-year mark. So just get one certification in
- 9:39the, I just wanted to let you guys know too, like when I was
- 9:42saying the 2 1/2 year mark, I've had four people in the last
- 9:45couple months get hired at the 2 1/2 year mark in the flight prep
- 9:49Academy. And that's because what I'm
- 9:51going to talk about next. The three things to really focus
- 9:54on, they're just focusing on those things in a simple doable
- 9:58way. Working on flight interview prep
- 10:00specifically so that when they sit in the flight interview,
- 10:03they're they are ready to go in the interview, they're confident
- 10:07and then they receive an offer. OK, So that's number two is not,
- 10:12I see people focusing on a lot of getting a lot of
- 10:15certifications and you don't want to be doing that.
- 10:17The third common mistake that I see people focusing on is taking
- 10:21all the classes. So they spend a lot, again, of
- 10:25time, money, studying energy outside of the shifts that
- 10:29they're working, really focusing on taking more trauma courses.
- 10:35And a lot of flight companies don't even require a trauma
- 10:38course. And if they do, they'll usually
- 10:41take the one that you're hospital or your department
- 10:46endorses. Or if anything, like I flew for
- 10:49a company that had their own requirement for a trauma course
- 10:53and it was the TPA TC. So they paid for me to take the
- 10:56course and to do it. So I just highly recommend if
- 11:00you do want to take a trauma course, take the one that your
- 11:06that your department or your hospital will pay for you to do
- 11:09and just use that as your trauma course.
- 11:12Because there's going to be so many different ones out there.
- 11:16And if they even require one, if they really want you enough,
- 11:20they're going to hire you and then pay for you to get it.
- 11:24OK, so those are the three things that I commonly see
- 11:26people focusing on. Here is actually what you want
- 11:30to focus on to jump start your journey into flight.
- 11:34Number one, this is really important.
- 11:36One person already mentioned this.
- 11:37They're not confident enough. Mindset is the biggest thing to
- 11:42work on getting to flight. If you don't believe that you're
- 11:45a flight nurse, other companies won't either.
- 11:47And so that's why the mindset piece is really important.
- 11:49When you come and work with me, we work on growing your
- 11:52confidence and your critical working skills.
- 11:55At the same time, what I teach in my program is to not get rid
- 11:59of the doubt and to not get rid of the imposter syndrome.
- 12:01I teach you how to be the person who can really lean into it and
- 12:05take the doubt with you. I wanted to share with you guys
- 12:08that I ran over probably 1000 calls as I calculated it in the
- 12:13seven years that I flew and every single call that I ran, I
- 12:17still experience doubt, especially the same calls.
- 12:21So I'm an ICU, ICU nurse at heart.
- 12:24I worked ICU for six years before I transitioned into
- 12:27flight and I'd never worked ER, I'd never seen pre hospital.
- 12:31I didn't know what it was like to like bring a trauma patient
- 12:34patient and I just had them all nice and bundly packaged and and
- 12:37ICU. And so scene calls was what my
- 12:41company predominantly ran and I was nervous on every single
- 12:46call. We'd circle the scene, my heart
- 12:49rate would go up, my hands would start to sweat, we'd land at the
- 12:53scene. I was really nervous.
- 12:55I'd open up the ambulance doors, not knowing what to expect.
- 12:59And I had a lot of doubt. But I knew I would always figure
- 13:03it out. And I knew that my partner and I
- 13:05would always come up with a plan to successfully get what the
- 13:09patient needed in the moment. And so I want to just offer you,
- 13:13if you're anything like me, where you feel like you're a
- 13:15high achiever and you set big goals for yourself, getting to
- 13:18flight is going to create a lot of doubt for you.
- 13:21And what I see a lot of people do is that they want to push the
- 13:24way this doubt instead of learning to just lean into it.
- 13:28And if you're a high achiever, then doubt and imposter syndrome
- 13:31is going to be something you're always gonna bring with you and
- 13:34you're always gonna push up against it.
- 13:36Because as we level up, that's when we feel imposter syndrome.
- 13:40And so I really teach you in my programs, in my courses, like
- 13:46how do we grow your confidence level with having doubt and
- 13:50leaning into imposter syndrome? Because our brains like to tell
- 13:54us we can have doubt or we can be confident.
- 13:56And I'm really going to teach you how to have doubt and be
- 13:58confident at the same time. So mindset and working on those
- 14:02constant obstacles that are loud in your in your head, whether
- 14:06they're I'm not good enough, I don't have enough time and
- 14:09experience, I'm not smart enough, I'm too old.
- 14:13Like these are common thoughts that I hear people saying, we
- 14:16are going to work on this in the courses and in the programs.
- 14:20Because my goal for all of you guys is I want you guys to start
- 14:23thinking as a flight nurse before you even sit in these
- 14:26seats of these offers. So that or in these interviews,
- 14:29so that when you sit in the seat for the interview, you already
- 14:33believe that you already know how to have doubt and show up
- 14:35confidently. And then they're going to want
- 14:37to give you an offer because of that.
- 14:40Again, it all comes down to belief work and mindset work and
- 14:43working on growing your confidence.
- 14:45So that's the number one thing that I put as #1 is working on
- 14:49the mindset piece and sifting through the thoughts #2 The, the
- 14:54second thing that you really want to work on to jump start
- 14:56your journey to flight is mapping out your plan.
- 14:59You want to do this as early on as nursing school.
- 15:02In nursing school, I knew that I wanted to be a flight nurse.
- 15:05And so I started taking actions and steps to it.
- 15:08And I've created a direct step by step plan.
- 15:11No matter where you're starting to map out your plan, what's
- 15:14important for this and mapping it out so that you can stay out
- 15:18of track and out of confusion. I see a lot of people start to
- 15:21go go this way and it takes them years to get to flight versus
- 15:27let's create a plan, let's create a protocol so that when
- 15:30your brain's like, hey, maybe I need to go to that level 1, or
- 15:33maybe I need to work ER and ICU, you're stay on track where
- 15:37you're like, wait, this is my plan.
- 15:39I just need to do ER or ICU and I don't need to work a level 1.
- 15:44I can work a rural bed ERICU and still be just as qualified.
- 15:49So mapping out is important because it helps you focus on
- 15:52one department. I highly recommend working in
- 15:56one department and growing your confidence and critical thinking
- 15:59skills. The reason why I recommend this
- 16:02is flight companies are not looking for time and experience.
- 16:05Flight companies are looking for leaders and people who have
- 16:09grown their leadership qualities and have grown their critical
- 16:12thinking skills and who go above and beyond their staff position.
- 16:16What happens again is like usually at the one or two year
- 16:20mark of working here, I see you. When you start to feel more
- 16:23comfortable, that's where I see people jump around.
- 16:26But at that one year mark, that's where you want to start
- 16:29taking on leadership roles. That's where you want to start
- 16:31precepting new hires or precepting student nurses, being
- 16:36a part of committees, helping roll out training devices like
- 16:40this is really where you want to step up as a leader because this
- 16:43is who flight companies are looking for.
- 16:45They're looking for leaders and so that really can only be
- 16:49established and honed in when you work one department.
- 16:53I do want to, I touch on this for a second and I want to go
- 16:55back to it. I get asked a lot too, is ER
- 16:58better or is ICU better? And I just want to offer for you
- 17:01guys to pick the unit that you are most excited about. 1 is not
- 17:06better than the other. That's why they don't say ER and
- 17:09ICU. They say a critical care unit.
- 17:11So that could look like a pediatric adult ER or a
- 17:15pediatric or an adult ER. That could look like a adult ICU
- 17:20or a trauma ICU or a burn ICU or a pediatric ICU.
- 17:24Any kind of specialty of either one of those, that is fine.
- 17:28It doesn't matter. Any critical care unit for three
- 17:31years, that's what they're looking for.
- 17:33And then also the leadership qualities.
- 17:35I also want to touch on, if you're in between, do I work
- 17:39ERICUI always offer for you to pick the department that you're
- 17:43the most excited about. Because if you're more excited
- 17:46about working in an ER, then that's where your confidence and
- 17:50your critical thinking skills are going to grow.
- 17:51You're not going to dread going to work.
- 17:53You're not going to be like, oh, this is just because this is
- 17:55what flight wants. No, you're going to be
- 17:57interested into it. And when you're interested in
- 18:00something, that's just where your confidence levels are going
- 18:03to. I also want to touch on that.
- 18:05It doesn't matter if it's a rural bed ERICU or a level 1
- 18:08trauma ICU. I see people chasing level ones
- 18:11as well. Flight companies are looking for
- 18:15rural bed ERICUS all the way to level 1.
- 18:18I sat in a lot of interviews where there was level 1
- 18:21candidate, but they ended up picking the rural bed ER ICU
- 18:24nurse because they were resourceful.
- 18:26They knew how to get what they wanted with very little
- 18:29resources. And so they're not looking for
- 18:32just level 1. So don't chase level 1 as well.
- 18:35I wanted to give you an example of someone who's currently in my
- 18:39flight prep Academy. I met her probably about a year
- 18:42and a half ago now. She's been working with me and
- 18:45she came to me and she was working float pool at that time.
- 18:48And she said I've always wanted to be a flight nurse.
- 18:51Like I known that this is really what I want to do.
- 18:54And she said I knew that in nursing school.
- 18:57I got into nursing school fully thinking that I was going to go
- 19:00into critical care and then I just ended up getting a job in
- 19:04the OR and life circumstances happened and things happened,
- 19:08but she's like, I've been working.
- 19:10I went from OR I've been, I did OR for four years and now I've
- 19:13been working float pool for the last two years.
- 19:15She's like, I really just want help getting on track.
- 19:18She goes, I'm studying for my CEN.
- 19:21I'm thinking about taking a job in an ER and then taking a per
- 19:25diem in an ICU. I'm taking this trauma course
- 19:28and I'm getting ready to take my paramedic license.
- 19:30She goes, what do I need to be doing?
- 19:32And I said, actually, we're going to cut all those things
- 19:35out. And she said, what?
- 19:37And I said, part of your plan is we're going to get you into an
- 19:41ER or an ICU. We're going to get you starting
- 19:44to do ride alongs and make connections with light companies
- 19:47and that is it. We're going to hold off studying
- 19:50for your CN and you don't need to get your paramedic license.
- 19:53And she said what she's like, I've been doing all of these
- 19:55things. I thought like I needed to
- 19:57hustle and work hard and overwhelm myself and do all
- 20:00these things to make myself look good as a candidate.
- 20:02And I said, no, this is just what we're going to focus on.
- 20:06So she got herself into an ER full time and she had been doing
- 20:10that only nine months. She had done, I think two or
- 20:12three ride alongs at that point because we had.
- 20:15I taught her how to do ride alongs.
- 20:17And after the third ride along, she got her first flight
- 20:20interview of just working ER for nine months.
- 20:23And that's how I know it's possible by just focusing on
- 20:26these things. So just nine months of working
- 20:29ER, she's now sat in two flight interviews.
- 20:33And I know that she's going to get hired, if not one of these
- 20:36positions very soon and only working ER nine months and
- 20:40cutting out all of the other fluff.
- 20:43And so I just want to offer you guys like with a mapped out
- 20:46plan, doing it in a simple, doable way, focusing on the
- 20:50things that really matter. That's how you get hired into
- 20:53flight. She got her time back.
- 20:56She got being able to be with her family.
- 20:58She had a small child at home and she didn't hustle and
- 21:01overwork to get there. And I just want to offer you
- 21:04guys too, that if you hustle and overwork to get there, that's
- 21:08how you will be when you arrive. And that's how flight nurses
- 21:12burn out. So more importantly, when people
- 21:15come to me, they're like, I really want to work with you to
- 21:17get into flight. I'm, I not only want to help you
- 21:20get to flight, but I want to help you be successful
- 21:23afterwards to transition into the role successfully,
- 21:26confidently and fly for the longevity of the rest of your
- 21:30career if you want to. And I know that flight nurses
- 21:33have a short half life. I saw it so many times.
- 21:36They would hustle over work to get there and then they'd only
- 21:38last a year or two because they'd get overwhelmed and
- 21:41they'd burn out. So I'm, what I'm noticing is
- 21:44that people who map out their plan earlier come and work with
- 21:47me on earlier in their career. Not only are they getting hired
- 21:50in the first one to two flight interviews, but they are also
- 21:54clearing orientation and successfully getting off of
- 21:57orientation sooner. And so that's what's really
- 22:00important to me. So that's why mapping out your
- 22:02plan is really important as well as not getting an overwhelm and
- 22:07overworking and hustling to get there as well.
- 22:10OK #3 the last and final thing that is really important and I
- 22:14touch on this and I teach this is doing ride alongs and making
- 22:18connections and networking with companies.
- 22:21The purpose of this is twofold. 1 you get to sit in that
- 22:26helicopter seat. You get to see what it feels
- 22:28like to do the job, the goal feel much closer to you.
- 22:32You get to see what it's like to to be the flight nurse, to be
- 22:39the flight paramedic, to work as a small team, to work in this
- 22:41small space. It really gets to get you
- 22:46excited about this goal and you really want to start doing ride
- 22:50alongs as soon as you graduate nursing school.
- 22:54I really teach the people that I work with and the clients that I
- 22:57work with to do about 3:00 to 4:00 in a six month period.
- 23:00So that ends up to being about 6:00 to 8:00 and that that can
- 23:05be less or more. I have some people in my flight
- 23:08prep Academy right now that are doing like 3 this month and it's
- 23:12really, I really teach you again, not to overwork in doing
- 23:15that, but it gives you the opportunity to get to know them.
- 23:20I treat ride alongs as dating. So what I see a lot of people do
- 23:24who want to get into flight is they just think that they're
- 23:26going to work their three years, they're going to prep really
- 23:29quickly for a flight interview and then they're going to get
- 23:31hired. And the reality of it is, is
- 23:34they're so competitive that you can't rely on doing that.
- 23:38This is what stops a lot of people from even getting hired
- 23:41because what they do is they think that they can focus on an
- 23:46opening and then when an opening happens, expect an interview and
- 23:49then get hired after the interview.
- 23:51Well, for flight companies, because there's so many
- 23:53applicants and so much competition, when they post an
- 23:56opening, that position has already been spoken for.
- 23:59And that position has already been spoken for by people who
- 24:02have been doing ride alongs and making connections with them
- 24:04their whole three years of working critical care.
- 24:07So I recommend and I have some nursing students in my program
- 24:10who are already doing ride alongs too.
- 24:12So I I recommend doing ride alongs as soon as you graduate
- 24:16nursing school. Doing 4 to 8 in or three to four
- 24:21in a six month period ends up being 4 to 8 or 6 to 8 in a year
- 24:25period because I like to treat this as dating for my my analogy
- 24:34with this is when we go to marry someone, most of us aren't like,
- 24:38hey, that's the person I want to marry and I'm going to marry
- 24:41them. But that's how people treat
- 24:42flight companies. They're like, I'm just going to
- 24:43work my three years and I want to marry this company and I'm
- 24:46going to get hired with them. And that's not realistic.
- 24:48So doing ride alongs gives you an opportunity to speed date a
- 24:51lot of companies. You get to figure out what's
- 24:54important to you, is culture important to you is teamwork, is
- 24:58training, safety, education, management.
- 25:03When you get to sit in this helicopter seat and make
- 25:05connections with these companies, you get to find out
- 25:08what they value. And then the second part to this
- 25:11is companies get to know you. They get to find out what you
- 25:14value, who you are, what's important to you.
- 25:17They get an opportunity to date you, and then these ongoing ride
- 25:21alongs are continuous dates that you keep to have what you keep
- 25:25having with them. They get to find out what kind
- 25:27of team player you are and ultimately this is who they pick
- 25:30from to be invited to the interview.
- 25:33So you don't want to rely on openings online.
- 25:36I teach all my clients to be the candidate who does so many ride
- 25:39alongs that they get invited to interviews.
- 25:41And this is how my clients are getting hired before the
- 25:44three-year mark because they're getting invited to interviews.
- 25:47What's great about this invitation is that they already
- 25:49know you. They've got to know you on a
- 25:52less serious basis. They've got to know who you are,
- 25:57what you value, the team player you are in this environment.
- 26:01Relaxed is the better word, relaxed environment of doing
- 26:04these ride alongs before you get in this environment that's not
- 26:08so relaxed in the flight interview.
- 26:09So they're already bought into you.
- 26:11And when they're already bought into you, they already want you
- 26:14to be a part of their team. And so just doing the flight
- 26:18interview is just the thing that they have to do to offer you the
- 26:21position, but they're already bought into and they already
- 26:24want you. And so that's how my clients are
- 26:27really getting one, one interviews before there's an
- 26:31opening and then two selected for an offer above everybody
- 26:34else or above a lot of different candidates.
- 26:37So that's why these write alongs and making connections is so
- 26:40important. And I teach you exactly how to
- 26:42do this and how to prepare for this.
- 26:45And so, yeah, I, I wanted to tell you another story of
- 26:48someone else who is in currently the flight prep Academy.
- 26:51She did a ride along and I always help you get your resume
- 26:54flight ready as well. And she took her resume to the
- 26:57ride along that day. And they just really loved
- 27:00getting to know her on this ride along day that they asked for
- 27:04her resume and they put up on their crew fridge and on their
- 27:06crew fridge, they wrote on it when there's the next opening,
- 27:09we want her. And she got an interview the
- 27:12very next time there was an opening.
- 27:14And so this is really what I want for you guys is to be able
- 27:18to one personally experience right along so that you can
- 27:24really anchor in your desire of being in flight.
- 27:28It's going to feel much closer to you no matter where you are
- 27:31in the journey when you start joining them too.
- 27:33And then it also anchors in how much they desire of wanting you
- 27:36on the team. And so when I was trying to get
- 27:39in the flight, I didn't even know right alongs with a
- 27:41possibility. And this is really the core of
- 27:43what I teach you in my courses and in my programs that really
- 27:47help you get the job I want to offer you.
- 27:49One last thing, you don't have to be confident before deciding
- 27:53to go for this big goal. A lot of people come to me and
- 27:56they're like, I'm not 100% confident about myself.
- 27:59So I don't know if I want to go for it.
- 28:01And where you are going will require you to bring doubt.
- 28:05It will require you to be a beginner again.
- 28:08It will require you to start over.
- 28:11And if you are willing to do that, I'm going to teach you how
- 28:14to have this doubt and still show up confidently, how to work
- 28:18through the imposter syndrome. Not push it down, but bring it
- 28:21with you. Because as soon as you get into
- 28:24flight, those thoughts and will be magnified.
- 28:27The areas where you feel weaker will be magnified.
- 28:29And so it's really important as you're trying to get there to be
- 28:34working on growing your confidence and you don't have to
- 28:36be 100% confident before going for it.
- 28:39In fact, it's going to be required that you have some
- 28:42doubt. I also have this strong belief
- 28:45and I want to offer you guys that it's really important to be
- 28:47in a community with people who are going through the same thing
- 28:51as you so that you don't feel alone.
- 28:53When I was trying to get to flight, I didn't know anybody
- 28:55else in the industry. And in fact, the people that I
- 28:57thought would be really supportive of me of trying to
- 29:00get there weren't. And so that I see stops a lot of
- 29:05people from going for it because they want the support of other
- 29:08people. And I want to offer you, if you
- 29:10really want this, come be a part of a community that is going for
- 29:14the same goal. They will support you.
- 29:16They will keep you on track as long.
- 29:18And also you'll get the mentorship of myself.
- 29:21I know the common obstacles that you guys face.
- 29:23I know it has you quit ahead of time and I know it has you guys
- 29:26pulled back. And so I'm going to prevent you
- 29:29from making the same obstacles that I see people make.
- 29:32And I'm not going to let you quit.
- 29:34People who have done this work and mapped out their plan
- 29:37earlier, like the people that I've caught as early as nursing
- 29:39school, they're getting hired in the flight in the first one to
- 29:42two interviews. And it's not just because
- 29:44they've grown their confidence level and their critical
- 29:46thinking skills. It's because they know how to
- 29:48stay on track. They haven't gotten lost in the
- 29:51weeds and for years started working on other things that are
- 29:54going to make them look better and focusing on time and
- 29:56experience. They've really stayed on track.
- 29:58And I've helped them do that with the mentorship and the
- 30:00community. OK, so that's the end of the
- 30:04training. These are the three things that
- 30:06you think you need to be doing to get into flight.
- 30:08Gaining more time and experience, working all the
- 30:11departments, getting more certs and taking more trauma courses.
- 30:15But these are the three things you actually need to be doing to
- 30:18jump start your journey to flight.
- 30:19Working on your mindset, rolling your belief in confidence
- 30:22levels, being able to take that doubt and imposter syndrome with
- 30:26you #2 mapping out your plan, growing your confidence,
- 30:31critical thinking skills, and leadership skills.
- 30:33Knowing exactly where your plan is, where you are now, and what
- 30:37you need to be doing in subsequent years before getting
- 30:40there to keep you on track and out of the weeds.
- 30:42And then number three, one of the most important things is
- 30:45doing ride alongs, networking, and making connections.
- 30:48I teach you how to do that. So in this three, if you know
- 30:52that flight nursing or flight paramedicine is what you want to
- 30:55do and you want to jumpstart your journey to it now, join us
- 30:58in the online Jumpstart Flight course.
- 31:00In this course, the following is going to be included.
- 31:02You're going to have three video, 3 videos in this course.
- 31:06The first video is going to talk about the mindset required to
- 31:09work towards this goal and be successful.
- 31:10After you get to flight. It's going to talk to you about
- 31:13how to work on some of these obstacles of doubt, imposter
- 31:16syndrome, and learning to have doubt and imposter syndrome and
- 31:19still be confident and show up successfully towards this goal.
- 31:23I'm going to teach you how to grow your confidence and
- 31:25critical thinking skills now, no matter where you are starting in
- 31:28the game and why it is so important to work on it now
- 31:31versus later. The second video I'm going to
- 31:34take you through the step by step process of no matter where
- 31:36you're starting, how to map out your plan and stay on track to
- 31:40get to flight. This is really important because
- 31:42you don't want to hustle and overwork to get there.
- 31:45How you are now is how you will be once you get there.
- 31:48Meaning if you hustle and you overwork now, then when you get
- 31:51to flight you were going to burn out so quickly.
- 31:54And while hustling and overworking might have worked
- 31:56out for you in the past, it's not going to be sustainable once
- 31:59you get to flight. You will have a very short half
- 32:01life as a flight nurse and you will get overwhelmed.
- 32:03So I really teach you the step by step process, what things to
- 32:07focus on, what things to to cut out and how to slow down and
- 32:11doing this and getting there without hustling and without
- 32:14overworking. The third video I teach you
- 32:17specifically how to start doing ride alongs and making
- 32:19connections with flight companies, which is really
- 32:22important for them to get to know you and you to get to know
- 32:25them. And I show you how to do this in
- 32:27a simple doable way. I recommend doing 3 ride alongs
- 32:30in a six month period, but some of my clients currently are
- 32:33doing 4 to 6 in a month period. I'm not saying that that's what
- 32:36you need to be doing, but I really teach you why it's so
- 32:40important in this course and so that you can start taking action
- 32:43in it right away. Once you do your first right
- 32:45along, you're going to be hooked and you're going to want to
- 32:48continue doing them. These videos will be available
- 32:51to for you to watch on demand at your own pace and you'll have
- 32:54lifetime access to them. This three course video is, is
- 32:58available only for $97.00. And, and again, you will be able
- 33:02to continue to rewatch these at your own pace.
- 33:05You will be able to secure right along right after watching them
- 33:07in the same month that you watch them.
- 33:09You're going to have clarity of exactly where to start and what
- 33:12to work on now, and you're going to be able to learn how to slow
- 33:15go down and not hustle and overwork to get there.
