- 0:25Speaker 1: It is time to believe your warriors outside and laugh
- 0:29Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Maley along with
- 0:33Speaker 1: Tray Trenholm. Our friend Rod Sharma out sick today, wishing
- 0:41Speaker 1: him a speedy recovery, although for many the recovery is
- 0:46Speaker 1: never ending.
- 0:47Speaker 2: It's what is it? Tray day by day? One day
- 0:50Speaker 2: at a time, One day at a time? O dat
- 0:54Speaker 2: day by Day?
- 0:54Speaker 1: Was that a Is that a bad sitcom or a
- 0:58Speaker 1: bad soap opera?
- 1:01Speaker 2: Oh no, I'm thinking step by Step?
- 1:03Speaker 3: Yeah. One Day at a Time was Schnyder. Wasn't it a.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Burtinelli?
- 1:10Speaker 2: Yep? That was a sitcom?
- 1:11Speaker 1: And then step by Step was Susanne Summers part of
- 1:14Speaker 1: the TGIF lineup, and it was also was a Bobby
- 1:23Speaker 1: from Dallas.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Patrick Ewing, Patrick Duffy, Patrick Duffy.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Yeah, although step by Step with Patrick Ewing I would
- 1:32Speaker 1: have watched a lot Susan Summer step by Step climbing
- 1:37Speaker 1: to the top of Patrick Ewit every Friday night.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I love this show.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I could go home right now, but I can't. We're
- 1:52Speaker 1: supposed to do an entire show today, so we're gonna
- 1:54Speaker 1: do that. Luckily, though we were not woken up at
- 1:58Speaker 1: four point fifty in the more this morning, the way
- 2:01Speaker 1: we were on Friday morning. Friday morning, around four point
- 2:06Speaker 1: fifty am, the blue alert heard around the.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Entire state of Texas. Did it get you, Trey or
- 2:14Speaker 2: were you still awake?
- 2:16Speaker 3: Truth matter is I had just gone to bed. But
- 2:19Speaker 3: I also I have those things turned off.
- 2:22Speaker 1: So there is a setting to turn off all emergency notifications.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Yes there is.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Will you do us all a favor and share those
- 2:30Speaker 1: with us? Because look, I think most people would agree that,
- 2:35Speaker 1: for the first time in decades, the entire state of
- 2:39Speaker 1: Texas was unified in a resounding f bomb around four
- 2:43Speaker 1: to fifty in the morning on Friday. Because no one
- 2:45Speaker 1: likes to be woken up before they want to get up.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Most people don't want to be woken up before the
- 2:49Speaker 1: sun's even up.
- 2:50Speaker 2: That's not fair.
- 2:52Speaker 4: I will say this.
- 2:53Speaker 3: In a time in which everything is divisive and people
- 2:58Speaker 3: are on the opposite sides of things, that seemed to
- 3:01Speaker 3: be a unifier.
- 3:02Speaker 2: It really was. It really was.
- 3:04Speaker 1: And by the way, if you're a Republican and you're
- 3:07Speaker 1: trying to figure out a way, I'm sorry, let me
- 3:09Speaker 1: I gotta reverse this. If you're a Democrat and you're
- 3:12Speaker 1: trying to find a way to turn Texas blue.
- 3:16Speaker 2: There you have it.
- 3:18Speaker 1: That's about as blue as you're ever going to see.
- 3:20Speaker 1: The entire state of Texas is the blue alert. In
- 3:24Speaker 1: case somehow you missed it or you're like Trey and
- 3:26Speaker 1: you know how to turn off those notifications. Friday morning,
- 3:31Speaker 1: four fifty a blue alert was issued for seth Altman,
- 3:38Speaker 1: wanted for the involvement. This is the actual emergency alert
- 3:41Speaker 1: that was sent to everybody's cell phones early Friday morning.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Blue Alert issue for seth Altman wanted for the involvement
- 3:48Speaker 1: in the injury of an officer by Hall County Sheriff's Office.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Suspect is a thirty three year old white male six
- 3:54Speaker 1: foot two, two hundred and twenty pounds. Altman is wearing
- 3:57Speaker 1: a blue T shirt and blue jeans. Believed to be
- 4:01Speaker 1: armed and dangerous. If seen, do not approach, Please call
- 4:05Speaker 1: nine to one one. There's in a very short message,
- 4:09Speaker 1: there's a lot to unpack there. So let's start with this.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Let's start with the fact that this is a bad man.
- 4:19Speaker 1: He did a very bad thing. He shot a police officer.
- 4:21Speaker 1: That's terrible, and uh, you're not going to find bigger
- 4:24Speaker 1: supporters of law enforcement pretty much anywhere, especially in the
- 4:29Speaker 1: state of Texas.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Then right here inside the treehouse, and.
- 4:32Speaker 1: We want all we want all bad guys captured and
- 4:36Speaker 1: locked away taste first at least.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Yeah, we like him cooked first.
- 4:42Speaker 1: We like them to see flashes of God before they
- 4:45Speaker 1: actually meet him.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Uh.
- 4:46Speaker 1: And the taser is a good way of accomplishing that. So, yeah,
- 4:49Speaker 1: we're big fans of the taser in here, We're big
- 4:51Speaker 1: fans of police law enforcement. But I got to say
- 4:53Speaker 1: that when you send out an alert to the entire
- 4:56Speaker 1: state of Texas telling us to look out for a
- 4:59Speaker 1: white man in his thirties wearing blue jeans and armed,
- 5:02Speaker 1: well you just described sixty percent of Texas, So I'm
- 5:08Speaker 1: gonna need you be a little more specific. Now, here's
- 5:13Speaker 1: the other thing to unpack out of this. This is
- 5:15Speaker 1: in Hall County, which is up in the Panhandle. By comparison,
- 5:22Speaker 1: Let's say you live in Dallas County. Whatever county is
- 5:27Speaker 1: the first one, or maybe rephrase whatever parish is the
- 5:31Speaker 1: first one across the state border of Texas and Louisiana
- 5:35Speaker 1: that would have more of an impact on you than
- 5:39Speaker 1: the one from Hall County in the Panhandle. The blue
- 5:44Speaker 1: alert for Hall County in the Panhandle, is going to
- 5:47Speaker 1: have less of an effect on someone that lives in
- 5:51Speaker 1: I don't know, say Lake Brownwood, then something out of
- 5:58Speaker 1: Louisiana or honestly something out of the Gulf of Mexico.
- 6:03Speaker 1: We need to put some location parameters on these alerts
- 6:05Speaker 1: to where they actually make sense. If there is one
- 6:08Speaker 1: good thing to be taken out of the blue alert
- 6:10Speaker 1: is that, well, we know the system works.
- 6:13Speaker 4: It's true.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Now would you like everyone like want a quick tutorial
- 6:16Speaker 3: on how to get around when this does happened to you?
- 6:19Speaker 2: Please? God. Yes, I've got my phone ready to go.
- 6:21Speaker 3: So if this is if you have an iPhone, if
- 6:24Speaker 3: you're Android, sorry your sol I don't know.
- 6:26Speaker 5: But.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I actually I support that that you know, I support
- 6:33Speaker 1: that train of thought, which is if you're an Android user.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Cue.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Yeah, so iPhone, go to notifications where notifications settings.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Okay, thank you. Go to settings first.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Then notifications.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:46Speaker 4: In notifications all right, now go all the way down.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Like just swipe all the way down. Yep, swiping all
- 6:52Speaker 2: the way down.
- 6:54Speaker 4: You'll see a things as government alerts.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I see Amber alert, emergency alerts, public safety alerts.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Okay, go to emergency alerts. All right, Now you can
- 7:07Speaker 3: turn on local awareness, which means it will give you
- 7:11Speaker 3: more location specific It's number one, but number two where
- 7:15Speaker 3: it says always play sound, turn that off.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna turn that off.
- 7:22Speaker 4: And especially because like.
- 7:26Speaker 3: So my phone from about four am to nine am
- 7:34Speaker 3: is in like do not disturb mode, So especially when
- 7:37Speaker 3: it's in that No, you're not going to get anything
- 7:39Speaker 3: that breaks through.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Yeah, from four am to nine am, Trey is like
- 7:42Speaker 1: a virgin on prom night.
- 7:44Speaker 2: This is a strictly no go zone.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Yes, so there you go.
- 7:50Speaker 3: That's how you can get around that and not have
- 7:54Speaker 3: annoying little alerts from way out in West Texas disturb
- 7:58Speaker 3: you at night.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Can you do me a favorite?
- 8:00Speaker 1: Can you do a recording of everything you just described
- 8:04Speaker 1: and post that on our social media at Treehouse on
- 8:06Speaker 1: Air for everyone to follow and so they too can
- 8:09Speaker 1: be aware of this.
- 8:10Speaker 4: Oh yes, I can.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Do You want me to show you how to do that?
- 8:15Speaker 4: Sure?
- 8:20Speaker 1: Look it's better than teaching our parents how to record
- 8:23Speaker 1: one channel while watching another, isn't it?
- 8:28Speaker 4: Or how to attach something to an email.
- 8:30Speaker 6: Oh my gosh, you're listening to the tree House.

- 10:57Speaker 1: Hangman's dot com, that is hangman dot com. Last week Tray,
- 11:04Speaker 1: there were a bunch of people once again living and
- 11:07Speaker 1: extending their COVID lives by panic buying toilet paper. Now,
- 11:12Speaker 1: this time they were worried that it wasn't because of
- 11:14Speaker 1: a global pandemic. Instead, they were worried about this doc
- 11:20Speaker 1: workers strike that was looming, and they decided the first
- 11:24Speaker 1: thing I gotta go buy is all the toilet paper
- 11:28Speaker 1: I can get my hands on, which I'm fascinated by
- 11:35Speaker 1: in the face of what might be difficult life circumstances,
- 11:40Speaker 1: I'm not even going to say apocalypse, but that could
- 11:43Speaker 1: you could extend it to that. But in the face
- 11:45Speaker 1: of difficult life circumstances, the first thing people think of
- 11:48Speaker 1: is their own ass.
- 11:50Speaker 2: And I'm fascinated by that.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Is that the first thing you thought when the whole
- 11:55Speaker 1: dock workers strike was possibly going to be an issue,
- 11:59Speaker 1: you thought, okay, be some shortages of products.
- 12:01Speaker 2: What's the first thing you were going to go panic by.
- 12:06Speaker 3: I wasn't, Well, that's good when I knew the long
- 12:11Speaker 3: shortmen were going on strike, which thankfully it's that lasted
- 12:16Speaker 3: two days. Then they got a nice hefty pay increase
- 12:19Speaker 3: and they're back at work.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I'm glad you brought that up just real quick. So
- 12:23Speaker 1: no one act is now panic thinking. In case you
- 12:27Speaker 1: missed this entirely, there is now nothing to worry about.
- 12:30Speaker 1: The union representing East and Gulf Coast dock workers suspended
- 12:33Speaker 1: it to strike on Thursday after reaching a tentative agreement
- 12:36Speaker 1: with shipping giants that reportedly includes a sixty two percent
- 12:40Speaker 1: wage boost over six years. So they're back at the
- 12:44Speaker 1: bargaining table. They're going to finalize all this stuff. You
- 12:46Speaker 1: don't need to go out and panic buy anything, let
- 12:49Speaker 1: alone toilet paper. So nothing to worry about, true, Yeah.
- 12:52Speaker 3: No, the uh the first thing that came to mind
- 12:55Speaker 3: for me was, well, if this goes on a long time,
- 12:58Speaker 3: that's gonna really you know, when you're already dealing with
- 13:01Speaker 3: inflationary prices, it's gonna make Christmas really ugly for some
- 13:05Speaker 3: people because then you're really gonna have you could have
- 13:08Speaker 3: a shortage of toys and other things and make you know,
- 13:11Speaker 3: the price of everything go through the roof. But the
- 13:13Speaker 3: thing I wasn't thinking of was in toilet paper, because
- 13:20Speaker 3: if you would in gluten, google where toilet papers made, like, well,
- 13:25Speaker 3: where is Sharman made Pennsylvania?
- 13:28Speaker 4: Where it's culter?
- 13:29Speaker 3: Northern made Georgia, so you realize that it doesn't hit
- 13:32Speaker 3: the docks.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Are you trying to tell me that American made products
- 13:36Speaker 2: in states like Pennsylvania in Georgia don't have to travel
- 13:40Speaker 2: the ocean to get to me in Texas?
- 13:42Speaker 4: I am telling you that I.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Am so god surprised. I am shocked.
- 13:48Speaker 2: I gotta lie down. Those things may not even touch water,
- 13:54Speaker 2: you know, between those states.
- 13:56Speaker 4: And not not after you use them.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I thank you.
- 14:03Speaker 1: But if they feel like pushing them up a river
- 14:06Speaker 1: for a little bit of the trip, just for the
- 14:08Speaker 1: hell of it, for the scenic views, okay maybe. But
- 14:10Speaker 1: otherwise that stuff's gonna come by truck. So unless there's
- 14:14Speaker 1: a trucker strike that's looming, you don't need to worry
- 14:17Speaker 1: about getting the toilet paper, most of which we get
- 14:20Speaker 1: inside the inside inside these United States.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Actually, you know the first thing that would really affect
- 14:27Speaker 3: it would be a train operators strike. Yes, then yes, truckers,
- 14:32Speaker 3: But I wish people understood it. And it's just it's
- 14:36Speaker 3: amazing that, you know, for all the great advancements we've
- 14:41Speaker 3: made as a civilization, people don't realize that most of
- 14:46Speaker 3: the shortages that happen are because of stupid effing people
- 14:49Speaker 3: hoarding stuff that they don't need.
- 14:51Speaker 1: To Yeah, because during COVID it was not only toilet paper,
- 14:56Speaker 1: but paper towels that everyone was hoarding. Ironically, not Kleenex. Yeah,
- 15:03Speaker 1: even though it was an illness going around where the
- 15:06Speaker 1: sniffles were a major issue, people people weren't even buying
- 15:09Speaker 1: Kleenex in bulk. They were just they were more concerned
- 15:12Speaker 1: about their kitchen counters and their own asses.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just it's the the just idiotic mass hysteria
- 15:21Speaker 3: that happens. And it's it's like, you know, rumors of
- 15:24Speaker 3: a gas shortage and everyone will go make a run
- 15:26Speaker 3: on gas. It's like, that's why we're having a shortage.
- 15:28Speaker 4: We would be.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Okay otherwise, Yeah, if you would just act normal, there wouldn't.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Be an issue.
- 15:34Speaker 1: But I I really am fascinated by the notion that
- 15:38Speaker 1: the thinking of something bad happening in the world and
- 15:43Speaker 1: people's first thought is I need to go buy toilet paper.
- 15:47Speaker 2: How dirty is your butt? Yeah?
- 15:50Speaker 4: And that's the other things.
- 15:51Speaker 3: During COVID, it's like how many times do you help
- 15:54Speaker 3: people crap a day?
- 15:57Speaker 1: Well, some people got the got the like the tummy COVID,
- 16:00Speaker 1: and so maybe they were going a lot, which, honestly,
- 16:03Speaker 1: if you have really bad diarrhea, you shouldn't be wiping
- 16:06Speaker 1: between those incidents. You should just live on the toilet
- 16:09Speaker 1: or next to it. There's no reason to wipe until
- 16:12Speaker 1: you know you're done squirting.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Or sometimes if it's a just jump in the shower after.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right.
- 16:19Speaker 1: That's why I invented something called the sphinx. I didn't
- 16:22Speaker 1: invent the actual act. I just coined the phrase. The
- 16:26Speaker 1: finx is when you were so sick. Let me give
- 16:29Speaker 1: you the situation. You're sick, right, you have to tell
- 16:31Speaker 1: many problems, and you're pooping really bad and you're sick,
- 16:33Speaker 1: and then you realize as you're sitting on the toilet,
- 16:35Speaker 1: oh my god, I'm going to throw up. And then
- 16:38Speaker 1: you have to decide what's going to go on the toilet?
- 16:40Speaker 1: What do I want to clean up when I'm done
- 16:43Speaker 1: with this whole fiasco? Do I want to kneel in
- 16:46Speaker 1: front of the commode and puke in the toilet and
- 16:48Speaker 1: then you know, diarrhea all over the floor and then
- 16:50Speaker 1: clean that up. Or it'd I rather sit on the commode,
- 16:53Speaker 1: diarrhea and the toilet and puke all over the floor
- 16:55Speaker 1: and clean that up. My solution is disphinxed it, which
- 16:57Speaker 1: as you get in the same position as the sphinx
- 16:59Speaker 1: in Egypt in the tub, then you can shoot out
- 17:03Speaker 1: both ends and all you got to do is turn
- 17:07Speaker 1: on the shower head and and you're good.
- 17:09Speaker 2: That's that's how you That's how you fix that.
- 17:12Speaker 4: It's a great party trick too.
- 17:14Speaker 2: It does.
- 17:15Speaker 1: It also works really well in San Marcos, Texas. State's
- 17:18Speaker 1: a big fan. I believe they've got a foam shock
- 17:21Speaker 1: her finger hand with that attachment. And the other thing
- 17:26Speaker 1: that made me think about the toilet paper thing was
- 17:29Speaker 1: this people panic buying toilet paper because they think there's
- 17:33Speaker 1: going to be a shortage when astronauts come back home.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Is that one of the first luxuries that they can't
- 17:41Speaker 1: wait to experience again after god knows how long in space.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Those two astronauts that are stuck on the International Space
- 17:48Speaker 1: Station when they come back home. Is one of the
- 17:51Speaker 1: first things they're going to be excited about is toilet paper.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Again, that's an interesting question.
- 17:59Speaker 3: I would think a hot shower, but.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I hadn't thought about that.
- 18:08Speaker 1: You mentioned Sharman earlier. I think one of those Bear
- 18:11Speaker 1: commercials when Papa Bear goes to space and he can't
- 18:13Speaker 1: wait to get home because space didn't have Sharman.
- 18:16Speaker 4: That's that is an interesting thought. Yeah, I bet that is.
- 18:23Speaker 4: What do they use?
- 18:25Speaker 2: I think it's just a space vacuum. It just kind
- 18:27Speaker 2: of fucks everything out.
- 18:30Speaker 5: There.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Might be like a you know what, I think there's
- 18:32Speaker 1: a space be day. I think there's a space b day.
- 18:34Speaker 1: It's anti gravity. It's either that or you have to
- 18:37Speaker 1: get another astronaut to suck some water in the mouth.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Because NASA believes in redundancies and they're big on the
- 18:48Speaker 1: Buddy system, So you.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Know, a whole new method of daisy chain.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Look, no one said space exploration was gonna be pretty.

- 19:31Speaker 1: This segment of the Treehouse is brought to you by
- 19:33Speaker 1: Hangman's House of Horrors in fort Worth open now open
- 19:39Speaker 1: now Friday through Sunday through November second. It's DFW's best
- 19:44Speaker 1: haunted house on its I believe it's thirty sixth year.
- 19:47Speaker 1: It's Hangman's House of Horrors in Fort Worth, open Friday,
- 19:51Speaker 1: Saturday and Sunday now through November second. For all the
- 19:55Speaker 1: information you need at a good time at a haunted house,
- 19:57Speaker 1: go to Hangman's dot com. All right, fresh off the
- 20:03Speaker 1: new way to look at space exploration inside the Treehouse,
- 20:06Speaker 1: let's do something else that's unexpected, and that is the
- 20:13Speaker 1: hot new fashion trend. If we're anything in the treehouse,
- 20:17Speaker 1: it's stupid. But if we're other things after stupid, because
- 20:21Speaker 1: that's what we love. It's what's fun in here. We
- 20:23Speaker 1: love a good We love a good fashion trend, especially
- 20:26Speaker 1: when that fashion trend is stupid, like this one Trey.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Bathrobes are the hot new fashion trend for fall.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Are you ready?
- 20:37Speaker 4: Yes?
- 20:38Speaker 2: Do you currently own a bathrobe?
- 20:40Speaker 4: I do not?
- 20:41Speaker 1: Well, buddy, you need to get one, because otherwise you're
- 20:44Speaker 1: gonna look very cool without it. Bathrobes are the hot
- 20:48Speaker 1: new fashion trend for fall. Vogue magazine has even endorsed
- 20:52Speaker 1: the look. Now I'm going to use a phrase here,
- 20:57Speaker 1: and it's very important that you listen to me when
- 20:58Speaker 1: I say this, Okay, bathrobe inspired, Okay, bathrobe inspired. This
- 21:08Speaker 1: doesn't mean we all get to run around looking like
- 21:10Speaker 1: the dude in The Big Lebowski and pretend that we
- 21:13Speaker 1: just walked off the runway in Milan or Paris. Its
- 21:17Speaker 1: bathrobe inspired dresses are the hot new fashion trend. So
- 21:24Speaker 1: I'm out on this. Although Trey, what you do between
- 21:27Speaker 1: four and nine am is totally between you and your closet.
- 21:33Speaker 1: But bathrobe inspired dresses keep popping up on red carpets.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Even Angelina Jolie just stepped out in a coat that
- 21:39Speaker 1: looked like a bathrobe in New York this week. A
- 21:42Speaker 1: writer for The New York Post called it the latest
- 21:44Speaker 1: in post pandemic unpretentiousness. After the lockdowns, we all stopped
- 21:50Speaker 1: caring so much and just went for comfort. So I'm
- 21:54Speaker 1: gonna emphasize that again, post pandemic unpretentiousness, which, now that
- 22:00Speaker 1: Vogue has endorsed it, doesn't that now mean it is pretentious?
- 22:05Speaker 4: Yes?
- 22:07Speaker 1: So by trying to look unpretentious now you are pretentious.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Yeah, especially if you're buying a bathrobe dress that I'm
- 22:19Speaker 3: gonna guess a bathrobe these days probably will cost thirty
- 22:23Speaker 3: to fifty dollars.
- 22:24Speaker 2: I don't know, at a at like a Kohl's or something. Yeah, yeah, I.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Mean yeah, you're gonna go spend five hundred on a
- 22:31Speaker 3: bathrobe dress.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Yeah, especially if it's got a designer's name attached to it.
- 22:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:37Speaker 7: Me.
- 22:37Speaker 4: Me.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I'm a big fan of the Hilton Honors bath towels
- 22:42Speaker 1: that I get from the Hilton hotels, and those are
- 22:45Speaker 1: usually free unless they notice it and then they charge
- 22:49Speaker 1: me after the fact. But right, they're usually free. That's
- 22:52Speaker 1: where I get my bathrobes. Those are the good bathroobes.
- 22:54Speaker 1: And let's be honest, have you ever found one of
- 22:56Speaker 1: those good hotel bathrooms anywhere but a hotel?
- 23:00Speaker 2: No? I haven't either.
- 23:02Speaker 1: I've heard before, and I don't know if this is true.
- 23:04Speaker 1: And when I'm not sure if something's true, are usually
- 23:07Speaker 1: ask you, Trey, because you know a lot of things
- 23:09Speaker 1: about a lot of things. I've heard that you can
- 23:12Speaker 1: buy the towel or the robe at the hotel.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Have you heard this.
- 23:18Speaker 3: Yeah, Usually they have a little sheet somewhere in there
- 23:20Speaker 3: that says, you know, if you like the bathrobe it's
- 23:26Speaker 3: one hundred bucks and if you take it, they're going
- 23:29Speaker 3: to charge you for it.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Full disclosure.
- 23:34Speaker 1: I don't typically stay at the Hilton, and the Best
- 23:37Speaker 1: Western that I frequent doesn't typically have bathrobes at all.
- 23:40Speaker 1: So what I do is I'll walk out of the
- 23:42Speaker 1: Best Western and then go across the street to the
- 23:45Speaker 1: good nice hotel or the Marriott and get theirs, get
- 23:49Speaker 1: one of their robes, and then bring it back to
- 23:51Speaker 1: my Best Western. And that's how I'm living my best life.
- 23:53Speaker 4: Now.
- 23:54Speaker 3: I will say this, there is a positive light, positive
- 23:58Speaker 3: spin on this trend and on the story, and that
- 24:02Speaker 3: is the great videos of on TikTok, YouTube, whatever. A
- 24:08Speaker 3: lot of times involve people in bathrobes at Walmart or
- 24:13Speaker 3: something doing stupid things. So maybe this will lead to
- 24:17Speaker 3: better videos because there's, you know, something funny about a
- 24:21Speaker 3: woman in a bathroom getting taste.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Oh that is good. I think That's what I'm gonna
- 24:27Speaker 2: do the rest of the day.
- 24:28Speaker 1: I'm just gonna type that into YouTube or a Google
- 24:30Speaker 1: and it's just I'm gonna binge watch all day bathroom tastings.
- 24:34Speaker 4: I have figured out.
- 24:37Speaker 3: One of the most satisfying sounds we're watching videos is
- 24:42Speaker 3: that initial just kind of click when the taser deploys
- 24:47Speaker 3: because you just know you're you're about two seconds away
- 24:52Speaker 3: from the good stuff.
- 24:53Speaker 2: That's right, because you know things are about to get good.
- 24:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:58Speaker 1: The other thing I'm taking out of this hot new
- 25:00Speaker 1: fashion trend that bathrobes are are in for fall.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Because think about it this way.
- 25:07Speaker 1: While the headline is bathrobes are the hot new fashion
- 25:11Speaker 1: trend for fall, the subhead needs to be, and you're
- 25:14Speaker 1: only going to hear about this here in the Treouse,
- 25:16Speaker 1: the subhead to that headline needs to be that means
- 25:19Speaker 1: pants are optional.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true. Although I feel like pants have been
- 25:25Speaker 3: optional for women since COVID.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Well, they're always optional inside the treehouse, if we're being honest.
- 25:33Speaker 4: That has a lot more of an albundi mystique.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Though, Yeah, it's not the same when when the chicks
- 25:39Speaker 1: come in and stick their hands in the front of
- 25:40Speaker 1: their trousers.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Although, although what I'm going to google later is going
- 25:48Speaker 1: to be really interesting to see some of those results.
- 25:52Speaker 1: I wonder if you just type in the click before
- 25:55Speaker 1: the days if things still pop up there.
- 25:57Speaker 4: Oh, that's a good question. You gotta isolate that sound.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Though, and oh, I just got a chill down my
- 26:06Speaker 2: spine thinking about it. Yeah, taser videos. Taser videos.
- 26:10Speaker 3: I can't say, just because you know a lot of
- 26:12Speaker 3: times you're watching those videos and you don't get the tase.
- 26:17Speaker 3: You know they got them out, but they don't do it. Man,
- 26:20Speaker 3: when you hear that click, you're like, oh, yeah, here
- 26:22Speaker 3: it comes.
- 26:24Speaker 8: Ah.
- 26:27Speaker 2: All right, I'm gonna do two things in this break.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Number one, I'm gonna isolate you screaming like that, and
- 26:31Speaker 1: number two, I'm gonna see if I can find the
- 26:32Speaker 1: sound effect for that click.
- 26:33Speaker 6: All right, you're listening to the tree House. Visit us
- 26:47Speaker 6: online that Treehouse on.

- 27:16Speaker 1: The segment brought to you by our Patreon channel. We
- 27:19Speaker 1: encourage you to listen to the show. So if you're
- 27:21Speaker 1: doing that right now, we appreciate it. And you can

- 27:39Speaker 2: All right, I've.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Found the closest example I think I could find in
- 27:44Speaker 1: a short amount of time, tray trying to find the
- 27:48Speaker 1: beautiful little click that you absolutely love and I do too.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Right before the police officers taser.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Let's win, it deploys and then you you you're just
- 28:02Speaker 3: waiting for that the first initial scream.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Yeah. I think it's sort of like it goes like.
- 28:09Speaker 1: I think the click that you like is the safety
- 28:12Speaker 1: or or the click is the pulling of the trigger.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Right yeah, and the pull of the trigger and then
- 28:17Speaker 3: as the barbs then the barbs go out, and then
- 28:19Speaker 3: you's got that little bit of delay.
- 28:22Speaker 1: It's that little delay what makes it so so sweet.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Oh so here's the best. Here's the best one I
- 28:27Speaker 1: can find. Most of them don't have like the little
- 28:31Speaker 1: clicking noises or anything before it. Usually most of the
- 28:33Speaker 1: sound effects I found in the break were just the
- 28:36Speaker 1: ones that started with the actual tasing. So it listened
- 28:40Speaker 1: closely here, so lean in really close.
- 28:42Speaker 4: Here we go.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Did you hear it?
- 28:45Speaker 4: Oh? Yeah, I mean it's.
- 28:46Speaker 2: It's faint because this is not great audio, but I
- 28:49Speaker 2: mean it's it's in there.
- 28:51Speaker 1: If you're curious. This is the Taser X twenty six,
- 28:55Speaker 1: So it's it's the the pistol looking model. It's not
- 28:58Speaker 1: like the stun gun that you know, looks like like
- 29:02Speaker 1: a cell phone with the little tips on it. Now,
- 29:04Speaker 1: this is the one that actually shoots out the barbs
- 29:06Speaker 1: police style. Let's do it again.
- 29:17Speaker 2: It's not bad.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Uh huh.
- 29:19Speaker 1: So I think I've figured out a way for us
- 29:21Speaker 1: to get a really good, clean version of this so
- 29:24Speaker 1: we can play it to our hearts content. And that
- 29:28Speaker 1: is we ask any number of our police friends of
- 29:30Speaker 1: ours uh to record themselves deploying their taser.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Yeah, in a safe environment, but we'll take you using
- 29:37Speaker 2: it on.
- 29:38Speaker 1: A suspect if if that's all you got, in fact,
- 29:42Speaker 1: that might be preferred.
- 29:44Speaker 3: You know, that's a one of these because I think
- 29:48Speaker 3: the first one of the first times I noticed that sound.
- 29:50Speaker 3: This would be a good throwback Thursday was a video
- 29:55Speaker 3: from uh I believe it's from like Boyton Beach and
- 29:57Speaker 3: uh it's the several mean sets.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Oh yes, yes, I remember that. It's It's funny you
- 30:06Speaker 1: mentioned that because that's one of the first. That's that's
- 30:08Speaker 1: one of the first videos I think of. There's two
- 30:11Speaker 1: videos I think of when it comes to all time
- 30:13Speaker 1: classic tasing videos. That one or the Boynton Beach lady
- 30:18Speaker 1: who's getting pulled over and being cited for a traffic
- 30:22Speaker 1: infraction and she doesn't follow or listen to the officer
- 30:26Speaker 1: at all, and she won't get out of her car,
- 30:28Speaker 1: so he tases her to get her out of the car.
- 30:30Speaker 1: That's that's that's an all timer because she gets tased
- 30:33Speaker 1: so many times in that video. It's like she's trying
- 30:35Speaker 1: to set a world record. And I think she may have.
- 30:37Speaker 1: The other great tasing video of all time is of course,
- 30:41Speaker 1: don't Tase Me Bro, the guy from I believe it
- 30:43Speaker 1: was a University of Florida, And yeah, and once again,
- 30:46Speaker 1: thank you Florida for supplying so many great memories for
- 30:49Speaker 1: us and our internet lives. But even he, even he
- 30:55Speaker 1: don't Tase Me Bro, didn't get lit up as many
- 30:58Speaker 1: times as that lady did and blink and before And
- 31:02Speaker 1: I do need to look up to see if there
- 31:04Speaker 1: is a world record for how many times in a
- 31:05Speaker 1: row someone's been tased, because if there isn't, I nominate her.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Yeah, that was one of those. They couldn't they couldn't
- 31:12Speaker 4: pull that trigger enough.
- 31:14Speaker 2: I think the only reason they stopped is because the
- 31:16Speaker 2: battery died. Oh, you know what.
- 31:25Speaker 1: I was going to give you some news, but then
- 31:26Speaker 1: I just remember there was something else I wanted to
- 31:28Speaker 1: throw at you. You want to do since we're a
- 31:30Speaker 1: little short on time in this segment, you want to
- 31:31Speaker 1: do a quick wrong answers only.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Sure, it is time for wrong Answers Only.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Inside the tree House, I'm going to provide today's contestant
- 31:43Speaker 1: trade Trendholme. Hello, Trey, Hello, today's contest long time, first time.
- 31:48Speaker 1: I think we appreciate that. So today's contestant tray. I'm
- 31:50Speaker 1: going to throw at you a fill in the blank,
- 31:52Speaker 1: and I want you to supply the wrong answer.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Do you understand I do? I'm glad. Let me see
- 32:01Speaker 2: if I can if my pre planning has helped us
- 32:08Speaker 2: enough on this. Maybe not?
- 32:12Speaker 1: Mm hmmmmmmmmmm Hang on one second, all right, Trey, here
- 32:18Speaker 1: we go Wrong Answers Only. A renovated blank takes down
- 32:24Speaker 1: its large mascot inflatable after complaints. I'll give you a
- 32:29Speaker 1: moment to think about your answer for wrong Answers Only.
- 32:33Speaker 1: A renovated blank takes down its large mascot inflatable after complaints.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Do you have a wrong answer trade?
- 32:45Speaker 4: Yes?
- 32:48Speaker 2: All right? What is your wrong answer.
- 32:53Speaker 4: An adult toy store.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Man, I'm glad that's the wrong answer. That is a
- 33:14Speaker 1: good job, Trey. That is the wrong answer. Therefore it
- 33:16Speaker 1: is the correct answer. The correct answer would actually be
- 33:22Speaker 1: A renovated McDonald's took down its large mascot inflatable after complaints.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Can you believe that?
- 33:31Speaker 1: So a very large Ronald McDonald in Tucson, Arizona. So
- 33:37Speaker 1: they renovated this McDonald's, and as part of the grand
- 33:40Speaker 1: reopening in Tucson, they decided to put up this massive
- 33:44Speaker 1: inflatable Ronald McDonald to the neighborhood's dismay. And at first,
- 33:52Speaker 1: I'll admit, at first I thought it was going to
- 33:54Speaker 1: be because people are afraid of clowns, especially large ones,
- 33:58Speaker 1: looming over.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Their chicken nugget factory.
- 34:02Speaker 1: But it turns out it wasn't because it was a clown.
- 34:04Speaker 1: It was just basically an eye sore.
- 34:08Speaker 9: A few people that thought that it was not appropriate
- 34:11Speaker 9: for the area that we're in. Our intent was never
- 34:13Speaker 9: to make anyone upset, not one customer at all, So
- 34:17Speaker 9: we've made the business decision to keep it down for
- 34:20Speaker 9: the near future and probably for good.
- 34:23Speaker 2: So basically, the neighborhood was too fancy for an inflatable
- 34:27Speaker 2: clown welcoming people to the renovated McDonald's.
- 34:32Speaker 3: Yeah, then they definitely would have wouldn't have enjoyed a
- 34:34Speaker 3: big inflatable dildo.
- 34:48Speaker 1: I like to think you're right, although you know there's
- 34:53Speaker 1: gonna be one lady that neighborhood that sees that is
- 34:56Speaker 1: sort of like a bat light.

- 35:53Speaker 1: Today is Monday, October seventh, twenty twenty four. Let's sue
- 36:00Speaker 1: who's celebrating a birthday today October seven, twenty twenty four birthdays.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Nicole Maines is twenty seven today trade Do you know who?
- 36:11Speaker 1: Nicole Mayins?
- 36:12Speaker 5: Is?
- 36:12Speaker 4: Not a clue?
- 36:13Speaker 1: Do you notice I didn't ask do you know who
- 36:16Speaker 1: she is? Okay, I just said, do you know who
- 36:21Speaker 1: Nicole Maynes is. The reason why I say that is
- 36:23Speaker 1: because not only is she celebrating, damn it, I did it.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Not only is Nicole celebrating, it's twenty hers damnit. This
- 36:31Speaker 1: is see, this is why this stuff's confusing. I don't
- 36:33Speaker 1: really know what everybody wants anymore. So Nicole Mayins is
- 36:35Speaker 1: twenty seven to day. Nicole plays Nia Naal on Supergirl,
- 36:41Speaker 1: and it says he or she's I'm gonna go with that.
- 36:43Speaker 1: She is the first transgender actress to play a transgender superhero.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Good for her. Here's my thing.
- 36:52Speaker 1: I look at the pronoun situation not as politically as
- 36:55Speaker 1: most people. I just look at it as a preference, right,
- 36:58Speaker 1: Like I I prefer to go by Dan instead of Daniel.
- 37:03Speaker 1: I was born Daniel, but I prefer you call me Dan.
- 37:08Speaker 1: That's how I look at it. When someone says, don't
- 37:11Speaker 1: call me by my whatever at birth, just call me
- 37:13Speaker 1: what I prefer. Now, That's how I look at it,
- 37:16Speaker 1: And it's pretty simple. I just look at it as
- 37:18Speaker 1: someone like I just said, just shortening their name. But
- 37:24Speaker 1: it's also like in these transgender times. It's hard to
- 37:28Speaker 1: keep up because it's it, that's just it. It's just hard
- 37:31Speaker 1: to keep up. And I don't really know, and I
- 37:34Speaker 1: don't want I don't want to offend anybody. I would
- 37:37Speaker 1: like to call you by what you prefer, because I
- 37:39Speaker 1: don't want you calling me Daniel. I typically don't like
- 37:41Speaker 1: it when people call me Daniel, and when people would
- 37:43Speaker 1: call me Daniel, I usually took it to me like
- 37:45Speaker 1: they were being uh, kind of a dick about it.
- 37:50Speaker 4: You know.
- 37:50Speaker 3: I I will always go out of my I will
- 37:53Speaker 3: go out of my way to respect people's wishes. And
- 37:55Speaker 3: if they, you know, have certain pronouns that want to
- 37:58Speaker 3: be used, I will do my best. At the same time,
- 38:02Speaker 3: you know, if you look and sound one way and
- 38:06Speaker 3: want to be addressed as another, don't get mad at
- 38:10Speaker 3: first when people mislabel you or you know, use the
- 38:14Speaker 3: wrong pronoun.
- 38:15Speaker 4: Give him a.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Chance or give you the rca dog head tilt.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Yeah, Like like if I show up and you you
- 38:23Speaker 1: see me as a five foot nine white man and
- 38:26Speaker 1: I say, hi, my name is Dan, but my pronoun
- 38:30Speaker 1: is she, You're probably.
- 38:33Speaker 4: Gonna do though, Yeah, but.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Okay, anyway. Nicole is twenty seven today.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Also celebrating a birthday today Brie Olsen, who was Charlie
- 38:44Speaker 1: Sheen's head goddess during his meltdown years. She's thirty eight today.
- 38:48Speaker 1: And this is a great example of how you say
- 38:51Speaker 1: something matters, not just what you say. Right, I'm gonna
- 38:54Speaker 1: read you this sentence again, and I'm gonna read it
- 38:56Speaker 1: to you in two different ways and see if you
- 38:57Speaker 1: can tell the difference.
- 38:58Speaker 4: All Right, was.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Charlie Sheen's head goddess during his meltdown. That's version number one.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Version number two is Brie Olsen was Charlie Sheen's head
- 39:10Speaker 1: goddess during his meltdown. I'll let you try to figure

- 39:29Speaker 2: How did that make you feel old?
- 39:31Speaker 4: No, it's not. It's Radiohead. Oh just not w It's
- 39:34Speaker 4: like I don't mind Radiohead's music.
- 39:35Speaker 3: I just can't stand Radiohead fans. I mean that is
- 39:41Speaker 3: they are. They have got to be the most pretentious
- 39:48Speaker 3: group of people that you'll ever find, because I mean
- 39:56Speaker 3: they will go out of their way to you know,
- 40:00Speaker 3: tell you why it's the greatest band ever.
- 40:02Speaker 4: And you're right.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Every Radiohead fan has a fifteen minute monologue ready to
- 40:11Speaker 1: go at the drop of a hat to explain to
- 40:13Speaker 1: you why Radiohead is the greatest band of all.
- 40:17Speaker 3: They will music explain you why. And I'm like, no,
- 40:20Speaker 3: they're not. I go there, you know, I'll sum up
- 40:24Speaker 3: radio and Radiohead fans. They don't play their biggest hit
- 40:28Speaker 3: there you.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Go, yeah and no, and you're not gonna You're not
- 40:33Speaker 1: gonna hear hear them in the tree?
- 40:34Speaker 2: How was either?
- 40:36Speaker 4: But that's not because I'll say it, Radiohead sucks.
- 40:39Speaker 2: How dare you, Trey, Well, I.
- 40:42Speaker 3: Promise you wait wait when this goes out, there will
- 40:45Speaker 3: be there will be a three page comment.
- 40:49Speaker 4: Yep.
- 40:50Speaker 2: And it was ready to go.
- 40:51Speaker 4: Uh huh, it was.
- 40:52Speaker 2: It was. It was in there.
- 40:53Speaker 1: It was in their already copied file, ready to paste
- 40:55Speaker 1: at the drop of a hat into the comment section.
- 40:58Speaker 1: But let's be honest, Trey, Radiohead fans are the terminators
- 41:03Speaker 1: of band fans, and you just became their John Connor.
- 41:09Speaker 1: They do not stop, they do not eat, they do
- 41:12Speaker 1: not sleep. Their only mission in this life is to
- 41:15Speaker 1: prove to the entire world that Radiohead is the greatest
- 41:18Speaker 1: band ever to live and if they have to kill
- 41:21Speaker 1: everyone that disagrees with them, then, by god, that's what
- 41:23Speaker 1: they're gonna do.
- 41:25Speaker 4: Hey, Radiohead fans, Nickelback is better.
- 41:35Speaker 1: I don't know if you saw it, but my soul
- 41:37Speaker 1: just left my body. I think even all of Canada
- 41:41Speaker 1: just gasped. Even Chad what, yeah, yeah, Somewhere Chad Kreeger's like, really,
- 41:51Speaker 1: I mean I like this at all, but really. Trey

- 43:05Speaker 2: All right. Last thing, Trey is this Are you ready?
- 43:09Speaker 4: Yes?
- 43:10Speaker 2: All right?
- 43:10Speaker 1: Because I feel like this story is gonna speak to
- 43:12Speaker 1: you in a certain way. A thirty six year old
- 43:16Speaker 1: man broke into a woman's home in Wales and did
- 43:21Speaker 1: all of her chores. So it's definitely not your typical
- 43:26Speaker 1: break in story. This happened over the summer, but the
- 43:29Speaker 1: trial was held this past week. The woman who lived
- 43:32Speaker 1: there was at work when he broke in on July sixteenth.
- 43:35Speaker 1: What did he do well? He hung her laundry out
- 43:38Speaker 1: to dry, put her groceries away, and even emptied her recycling.
- 43:43Speaker 1: He also tidied up her garden, refilled the bird feeders,
- 43:47Speaker 1: organized her fridge, mopped the floors, put out a bottle
- 43:49Speaker 1: of wine, cooked dinner, and left a note that said
- 43:52Speaker 1: don't worry, be happy, eat up. After that, he left
- 43:57Speaker 1: and he was not there when she got home from work,
- 44:00Speaker 1: and it freaked her out. She wasn't exactly thankful for
- 44:04Speaker 1: all of that he had done. Instead, she was freaked out,
- 44:07Speaker 1: called the police. She thought she had a stalker on
- 44:09Speaker 1: her hands, but he wasn't. His lawyer told the judge
- 44:13Speaker 1: he was just homeless at the time and undergoing a
- 44:15Speaker 1: number of difficulties. She stayed with a friend for two
- 44:18Speaker 1: weeks until police caught him. And they caught him after
- 44:21Speaker 1: he broke into another vacant house. He didn't do any
- 44:24Speaker 1: chores that time, and he didn't have time to because
- 44:27Speaker 1: someone showed up kicked him out. A judge just sentenced
- 44:31Speaker 1: him last Thursday to twenty two months in jail. His
- 44:35Speaker 1: lawyer told the court her client was sorry for the
- 44:38Speaker 1: harm he caused his victims. Twenty two months in jail
- 44:42Speaker 1: or I guess trespassing the one home and doing some
- 44:45Speaker 1: lady's chores in another.
- 44:49Speaker 4: Yeah, just goes to shay you. He can never please
- 44:51Speaker 4: a woman.
- 45:05Speaker 2: Once again.
- 45:06Speaker 1: That's Troy Tunholme at gmail dot com.
