  and how often it can just work against us.

  Dr. E and I have gone through it all and nothing has been more frustrating than

  our inability to record episodes for you, for me, for the Kroc podcast because

  of our problems with technology.

  And that's what we're going to talk about today because have faith,

  It's monday and you know what that means welcome

  I can hear you brother and I will tell you thank you for this podcast subject

  because gotta be honest with you you know we went through a week of trying three
• 1:34
  times to record the Kroc podcast and we came up short and we can't,
• 1:38
  we still don't have an answer as to why that happened, but the good news is
• 1:42
  my work computer is working and we're able to, to record an episode today and
• 1:47
  record this today for all of our half faith listeners.
• 1:50
  And, you know, it brings up the concept of, you know, just walking through life.
• 1:55
  If you guys are walking through life, I'm going to ask our half faith people
• 1:59
  to make it and do an experiment.
• 2:02
  You're at work or you're in a mall or wherever you happen to be walking down the street.
• 2:07
  I want you to pay attention to the people that you pass or the people that are
• 2:13
  sitting down or the people in your sphere.
• 2:15
  And I want you to tell me what percentage of them are looking around, looking at the sky.
• 2:23
  Looking at the sun, looking at the clouds, looking at other people,
• 2:27
  saying hello to somebody that they pass, or are they looking down at their phone?
• 2:33
  And what you're going to end up finding out, which I sadly found out every time
• 2:39
  I do it, is at least eight out of 10 of the people will be looking at their
• 2:44
  gadgets, at their monitors.
• 2:46
  And it's a problem because, number one, you lose that ability just to greet
• 2:53
  somebody on the sidewalk.
• 2:55
  That's a great opportunity for us to show our humanity to another fellow person, another human being.
• 3:03
  Also, you're putting yourself at danger.
• 3:06
  How many of you guys are going to get in car accidents or hurt other people or hurt yourself?
• 3:12
  Put your foot's going to go into a hole or you're going to fall off a curb and
• 3:16
  break your hip or whatever because you just weren't paying attention.
• 3:20
  And lastly, you're going to lose your sense of ability to communicate with other people.
• 3:26
  If it I mean it is really super cool
• 3:29
  that you can get to know not just the score of
• 3:32
  the Mets game but who's the winner what the percentages
• 3:35
  were who hit a home run who made an error what happened what was basically you
• 3:40
  probably could watch the whole game condensed in about maybe 45 minutes and
• 3:45
  that's great and to know the answer to a question that nobody knows you know
• 3:51
  hey really What was the first war that was fought,
• 3:54
  you know, over in the, in the fertile crescent?
• 3:58
  You know, these are all things that we would have had to go to a library back in the day to find out.

  And you can have it right at the tips of your fingertips, but at what cost?
• 4:07
  At what cost? At the loss of your humanity. Angel, what are your thoughts?

  You know what? It's funny you say that because as I was walking the mall,
• 4:14
  I had a shirt on that is designed for people to make a response from.
• 4:19
  And I got a little bit taken back when somebody said, by the way,
• 4:22
  I like your shirt because I'm not used to people interacting anymore.
• 4:25
  I'm used to people doing their own thing. But I was walking through and,
• 4:30
  you know, for the longest time you ever walk into a store and you'd hear the
• 4:33
  number one question. Hi, can I help you with anything?
• 4:36
  We don't even get that anymore. You know why? The workers themselves are on the phone.
• 4:40
  And then when you ask them for help, if you can find somebody,
• 4:44
  by the way, if they have to look at the phone to find out where things are,
• 4:48
  where the products are, that tells you right there that they're not paying attention
• 4:52
  enough to what they're selling.
• 4:54
  And that's a totally different other episode that we can get into.
• 4:58
  But here's the thing. When you focus on God, when you focus on yourself,
• 5:04
  when you focus on your family, when you take in the glory and the blessings
• 5:09
  that God has put out for all of us to view, when you take that away and you
• 5:15
  mask it, you're missing out on the greatest invention,
• 5:19
  the greatest creation that has ever been made, and that is life.
• 5:24
  And it's not that we're bashing social media. You can use that for your benefits.
• 5:30
  Obviously, without social media, our podcast wouldn't be on the air.
• 5:33
  What we're talking about is taking the time to be out there,
• 5:36
  interacting with other people, nodding, smiling, waving, saying hello,
• 5:41
  greeting, and also giving somebody an acknowledgement of that's a nice dress.
• 5:45
  That's a great color on you. All these things have disappeared.
• 5:49
  Think about what you're missing. Think about what you're not giving yourself
• 5:54
  the opportunity and think about, most importantly, what you're teaching your children.
• 5:59

  Heavenly Father, thank you for all that you continue to do for us.

  Lord, I know I've been stressed. I know Dr. E has been stressed.

  We need some peace. We need others to have peace of mind.

  Have Faith, Let It Begin also took many blows where a lot of us and our families
• 6:23
  have witnessed a lot of losses in our families.
• 6:26
  We have lost loved ones within our church communities. And I've heard so many
• 6:30
  that have been dealing with cancer and lost to cancer as well.

  There are many of us that are just dealing with a lot of heartache.
• 6:37
  So I ask you now, Lord, we're going to leave it at your feet because many of
• 6:41
  us just can't take any more.
• 6:42
  And we need you to come through and help us because I know you can.
• 6:46
  We ask this of you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
• 6:49
