Latest / Solving America's Problems / Trailer Kid's Apple Bet: Money Energy Unleashed (Full)
Transcript
- 0:00Alex: On this takeover episode of Solving America’s Problems, Jerremy tells guest
- 0:04host Robyn Ivy that a six-year-old kid in a Georgia trailer with no running
- 0:09water somehow bought Apple stock in 1995.
- 0:12[thoughtful] That same kid just revealed the exact same energy that
- 0:16turned three thousand dollars into life-changing wealth is identical to
- 0:21the energy most people bring to their relationships—and to money itself.
- 0:27Robyn Ivy presses Jerremy on how commitment issues, shame around pleasure,
- 0:31and refusing to feel rich even when you are rich keep the money flowing
- 0:35out faster than it ever flows in.
- 0:38Jerremy and Dave sit with Robyn as she flips the script, forcing
- 0:42Jerremy to confront why hunger still exists in a country with
- 0:45billionaires and GLP-1 obesity drugs…
- 0:50Hi.
- 0:50Welcome back to Solving America's Problems.
- 0:52I'm your guest host, Robyn Ivy.
- 0:53Today we're doing something different.
- 0:56I get to interview one of my favorite people of all time, and like a
- 1:00brother to me, Dave Conley, who's living in a support role of Jerremy.
- 1:05And I couldn't be happier to meet you Jerremy and
- 1:06Jerremy: Likewise.
- 1:07Robyn Ivy: I take over your podcast.
- 1:10Thanks
- 1:10Jerremy: is.
- 1:10It's, yeah, it's gonna be so fun.
- 1:12So fun.
- 1:13I love interacting with new people.
- 1:16Robyn Ivy: Yeah, this is great.
- 1:17It's great to do a little bit of a friendly takeover
- 1:19of somebody else's space.
- 1:21Jerremy: Yeah, likewise.
- 1:23Robyn Ivy: So for your listeners who don't know who I am, my name's Robin Ivy.
- 1:26I'm a life coach.
- 1:27I live here in Rhode Island, but travel around the world teaching and presenting.
- 1:31And I'm a medium and intuitive guide and I host the Robin Ivy podcast where
- 1:36we talk about navigating change and creating the life you want while you
- 1:39navigate the one you actually have.
- 1:41We dive deep in all sorts of spiritual conversations.
- 1:44I talk about thought leadership and really how to change your
- 1:47life from the inside out.
- 1:48So this felt like a pretty cool place to talk about solving problems and
- 1:53all the things you guys talk about.
- 1:55Jerremy: Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:56I think blending and co-creating both worlds will be, uh, very magical.
- 2:01Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 2:02Cool.
- 2:02Jerremy, when I was in Miami a couple weeks ago with Dave, he said something
- 2:05that's like really stuck with me.
- 2:06He said, of all the things that he's learned from hanging out with you, that
- 2:11you sang to him, that your relationship to money is essentially the same
- 2:15as your relationship to everything.
- 2:17And that if you figure out your relationship to relationship, then
- 2:21your to money will completely change.
- 2:25How true is that?
- 2:26And tell me about that.
- 2:28Jerremy: Radically true.
- 2:29Uh, in my opinion, I, I feel like money is a relationship, energy.
- 2:34And one thing that I've noticed for some people, not everyone, but a lot
- 2:38of people have commitment problems.
- 2:40We have commitment issues, so,
- 2:42Robyn Ivy: I can't relate.
- 2:44Dave: me either.
- 2:45Jerremy: Picking something and sticking to it like, all right, cool.
- 2:48I guess me and you for a long, long, long time is really, really challenging.
- 2:52And.
- 2:53For money that oftentimes can feel the same as well, where you get some, but you
- 3:00never feel like it's enough and it doesn't stay with you very long because as soon as
- 3:04you get it, you pay all the bills, you pay off your debts, you pay all the things.
- 3:07And it's like, well, yeah, that's what some I'm supposed to do.
- 3:10But then the money doesn't really stay there, just like a relationship might not.
- 3:14And you always feel like you're in this circle of the perpetual ness of not ever
- 3:19having enough, or the individuals that do actually have plenty of money, not
- 3:23recognizing and realizing that they have enough, not feeling like they have enough.
- 3:27So it's very much one thing to be rich.
- 3:30It's another thing to feel rich.
- 3:32It's one thing to have prosperity.
- 3:34It's another thing to perpetually create prosperity and to scale it
- 3:39and to grow it and to have more of it just like in a relationship, right?
- 3:43Having more love and having love expand versus picking someone and
- 3:46just dealing with all of their problems again big shifts there.
- 3:50Robyn Ivy: Tell me how you know this.
- 3:53Jerremy: I've studied both relationships and money in depth very
- 3:55closely for a long period of time.
- 3:57The relationship piece, more from the study of energy, masculine and feminine
- 4:03energy and just understanding to the best of my ability, what embodies an
- 4:08individual, what they carry with them from a day-to-day basis, what they
- 4:12actually do, what they say, what they use, and what type of energy that is
- 4:17holding within themselves and what the purpose of it is and why they're doing it.
- 4:22And then also the money piece kind of happened to me and for me, and then
- 4:27ultimately through me and the money.
- 4:30Understanding money, understanding how it moves was just always fascinating to me.
- 4:33I love the stock market since a very little kid and seeing how both
- 4:38of them connected was really as I got closer and closer to my wife.
- 4:44We got married five years ago in February.
- 4:47As that relationship started coming together, it made it a lot more clear.
- 4:50'cause she's very much more in your world.
- 4:52So she has her doctorate in metaphysics, so she's very, very,
- 4:56uh, she's the queen of the Woo, like, as far as you can go into ville.
- 5:02My wife is the mayor of
- 5:04Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 5:04Jerremy: and
- 5:05Robyn Ivy: Uhhuh.
- 5:06Jerremy: learning about her world and, oh, you two will have a blast.
- 5:10You two will have a blast.
- 5:12So she, she loves it.
- 5:13But, and then seeing her, her unique struggle when we met about
- 5:20charging money for her services.
- 5:22Keeping money, how she did it, how she thought about it, and then just having
- 5:25really in depth conversations from someone who's way smarter than I am in everything.
- 5:31Uh, and then having this back and forth dialogue of why was she struggling
- 5:36with growing her business or making a lot more money, or keeping a lot
- 5:40of money or feeling safe around money or feeling safe around men.
- 5:44And just having this really cool back and forth and just relaying
- 5:47it and tying it all to money.
- 5:48Yeah, it's been an awesome, awesome journey for the last five or six years.
- 5:52Robyn Ivy: So for my people, Jerremy, who've never heard of you and are
- 5:55excited to be meeting you like I am, can you give us a little bit of the
- 5:58backstory to put yourself in context?
- 6:01Jerremy: Yeah, totally.
- 6:02I'll do it.
- 6:02And three minutes.
- 6:04I grew up in Georgia.
- 6:07I lived in a very impoverished place.
- 6:09So about as poor as you can grow up in the United States of America.
- 6:13I grew up in a single wide trailer tree house.
- 6:15With no running water, with no air conditioning in Georgia.
- 6:18So it was always hot, it was always sticky.
- 6:20Mosquitoes the size of Pterodactyls would
- 6:23Robyn Ivy: Uhhuh.
- 6:23Jerremy: be my constant companion.
- 6:25And I watched a movie for the very first time that changed my life.
- 6:29In 1994.
- 6:30It was me, my father, and my oldest brother.
- 6:32His name is Jerry Roger.
- 6:34And we watched the movie Forrest Gump and 80% of the movie Forrest starts
- 6:39recounting the story about how he and Lieutenant Dan are investing.
- 6:44So he says, Lieutenant Dan invested into some kind of fruit company and said, we
- 6:51don't have to worry about money no more.
- 6:53So I said, good, one less thing.
- 6:55And that just baffled me at that exact moment, that moment in time.
- 6:58It was a beautiful paradigm shift.
- 7:00'cause I had never ever heard someone say, you do not have to worry about money.
- 7:06So I asked my dad, what is a fruit company?
- 7:08What's he talking about?
- 7:09I have no idea these words.
- 7:11And obviously Forrest was talking about Apple.
- 7:13They invest into Apple computers.
- 7:15And my dad started to the best of his ability explaining what Apple is and what
- 7:19the stock market is and what investing is.
- 7:22And he told me the a strategy that still works to this day.
- 7:25It's in fact probably the easiest way to explain the stock market,
- 7:30buy companies that you use.
- 7:32Do you understand their products?
- 7:33You interact with their money every day or every week.
- 7:36And if you continue to like those companies, you keep buying those
- 7:40companies, the stock will probably go up.
- 7:42And so that advice I kind of carried with me forever.
- 7:45So since the age of six, I begged my dad to invest in the stock market
- 7:50and he gave me the very, very common answers that most people give when
- 7:54we talk about the stock market.
- 7:56I don't have enough money.
- 7:57I don't have enough time.
- 7:58I'm not smart enough.
- 7:59Those are the three main ones, right?
- 8:01A lot of times it's.
- 8:02I just, I don't have any knowledge.
- 8:04Like I can't watch the news for 45 hours a day.
- 8:07Like, I don't know what you're doing.
- 8:08I don't know how to do this.
- 8:10And my answer is always, well, it's very easy, right?
- 8:12Wealth is second grade math repeated consistently and
- 8:16Robyn Ivy: That's good news.
- 8:18Jerremy: It is.
- 8:19And so once you, but the word is consistent, right?
- 8:21It's a repetition.
- 8:22It's a repetition.
- 8:22So we're all smart enough because Robin, you got an A in second grade math.
- 8:26Dave got an A in second grade math when we took in 1912.
- 8:30I got a, I got an A in second grade math.
- 8:33Um, we all got A's in second grade math.
- 8:35Yeah.
- 8:37So
- 8:37Dave: Ro Robin, we're not gonna,
- 8:39Jerremy: Me and
- 8:39Dave: here.
- 8:40Robyn Ivy: are you gonna do?
- 8:41Yeah.
- 8:41Dave: a year apart.
- 8:42Jerremy: no me and Dave.
- 8:43I'd always make fun of Dave.
- 8:45Robyn Ivy: was born in 1912.
- 8:46Jerremy: Yeah.
- 8:47Boy.
- 8:48Oh boy.
- 8:49Dave: God.
- 8:49All right.
- 8:50I'm going everybody.
- 8:50Thanks.
- 8:51Jerremy: but Dave's off the podcast.
- 8:53He's leaving.
- 8:54Robyn Ivy: This is how you know we're family.
- 8:56Jerremy: Yeah, no, I love Dave.
- 8:57And so we, we, yeah, I just love the stock market.
- 9:00I asked my, like I begged him and begged him and begged him and he eventually
- 9:02caved and said, BR buddy, if you bring me some money on match at dollar for dollar.
- 9:07And so I went, I picked blackberries and sold them door to door
- 9:11Robyn Ivy: Yeah,
- 9:12Jerremy: a dollar a bag and made $1,500 in the summer of 1995.
- 9:16And my dad borrowed, matched it, uh, borrowed $1,500 from my uncle Billy.
- 9:22We bought $3,000 worth of Apple stock in 1995, and ever since then, I have been
- 9:28immersed and I've read book, every book I've been to, every class, every webinar.
- 9:34I've spent seven hours of my life, probably every day since the age of 12,
- 9:39studying and learning the stock market and diving into it and trading it every
- 9:42day and interacting with it every day, and helping people from all over the
- 9:46world understand it and interact with it, and then grow their wealth from it.
- 9:50Robyn Ivy: I think it's so fascinating.
- 9:52So like I just said, I'm 51, so five decades on the planet.
- 9:55It's so interesting to me how one of us is somehow hardwired
- 10:00to turn towards something.
- 10:03With great intensity and curiosity that might be a thing that other people
- 10:07spend their entire life turning away
- 10:09Or
- 10:09And when it comes to things like money or metaphysics or politics or solving
- 10:15hard problems that feel beyond our own agency, we can either really see that as
- 10:21this great opportunity to learn something and to get into that arena with it.
- 10:25Or it can be totally the opposite.
- 10:28And I love that.
- 10:28Now.
- 10:29I recognize like nobody has the time to do all of that in every category.
- 10:32So thanks for being somebody that does it in that one.
- 10:36Because if we all just share those resources with each other, then like none
- 10:39of us have to do it at that full throttle unless it's the thing we really wanna do.
- 10:43Jerremy: Yeah, totally.
- 10:44And to your point I grew up in a cult.
- 10:47I grew up as a Jehovah's Witness for
- 10:50Far, the vast majority of my life.
- 10:51And I would be terrified to talk to you, 15 years ago to talk to anyone
- 10:57that's a medium or anyone that works in the energies of something that's not.
- 11:03The Bible.
- 11:04And it was, uh, to, to your point, like we all have things that we
- 11:08love and that we focus on, that we energetically align with.
- 11:11And the more that we share that gift through the world, the
- 11:14more prosperous we will be.
- 11:16Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 11:16And it's interesting 'cause my dad was a Methodist minister and there was
- 11:21something about being born behind what I call like that curtain of Oz and
- 11:25seeing that discrepancy between being a human being who's here to preach about
- 11:30God and but also not be God himself.
- 11:34And that immediate question of huh, you don't seem to be living up to the
- 11:39expectations that you're preaching about.
- 11:42As no one could, right?
- 11:43But at
- 11:43Jerremy: Yeah, of course.
- 11:44Robyn Ivy: I was like, I'm seeing some gap here in this thing.
- 11:48And it really opened up a lot of exploration around metaphysical things.
- 11:53at the deepest part of that, I really felt catapulted back into
- 11:58Christianity at a very deep place because it's all the same thing really.
- 12:03It's all the same thing at the end of the road.
- 12:05In my
- 12:06Jerremy: Yeah.
- 12:07It,
- 12:08Robyn Ivy: Love that about that.
- 12:09Whether it's the energy of money or the energy of God or whatever
- 12:12denominational perspective you hold the holier you get, the truer we get
- 12:18with the thing, the pure, the energy, it seems like the better it all goes.
- 12:23Jerremy: Yes, yes, yes.
- 12:25Yep.
- 12:26Yeah, well that's, uh, I'll bring it up Robin, just so that you
- 12:29have more of the context as well.
- 12:31And for your listeners.
- 12:33The whole reason that I feel compelled and moved and guided and
- 12:38pushed towards running for president is because of all of this, right?
- 12:43Growing up, Joe's witness, that was a big no-no.
- 12:48In fact, they keep away from all politics.
- 12:50So one of their biggest I guess, core tenets of belief is
- 12:55Be separate from the world as much as possible and only interact
- 12:59with it like when you're working.
- 13:01So it's very, very, very small.
- 13:03And I would be asked all the time at 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, what
- 13:07are you gonna do with your life?
- 13:08And I would have to make up something.
- 13:10Because I already knew the answer like since I was a kid.
- 13:13Like, why, just like you, oh, you're gonna go play baseball and become a
- 13:17professional baseball, or a firefighter or a movie star or actress or whatever.
- 13:22I've always knew that the whole purpose of my life, the ultimate
- 13:26goal is to serve at that capacity, to be a leader in that capacity.
- 13:32And I was always terrified of that.
- 13:35So as after I, I was terrified of the distinction and the separation.
- 13:39'cause there couldn't be both in that particular religion.
- 13:42So once I left the religion and I realized what a great gift it was
- 13:45for me, it kept me safe, it kept me protected, it kept me from doing really,
- 13:50really dumb things because that's how I learned, I learned through mistakes.
- 13:53So I was really mistake free.
- 13:56For a vast portion of my life, and I don't really have any skeletons in the closet.
- 14:01I don't really have anything to be afraid of or ashamed of.
- 14:03There's nothing, I didn't do anything.
- 14:05I just played basketball with a bunch of witnesses my whole life, you know?
- 14:08So I didn't have any, I didn't have any negatives, uh uh, and I started doing
- 14:14a lot of the joda spina meditation work, and that's where I met my higher
- 14:19self, or the best version of me, or the most disciplined version of me.
- 14:23And every time I interact with that beingness, that meanness I've noticed
- 14:28that's what I'm supposed to do is at least really make an extremely valiant
- 14:31effort to live the reason I was created, which is to, again, to serve as the
- 14:36president of the United States of America.
- 14:38And I thought, just my funny belief that every male.
- 14:44That was born, had that desire.
- 14:46And I was like, man, I gotta compete against everybody.
- 14:48Like this is gonna be hard.
- 14:50And the more I start talking to people, the more people I realize
- 14:53that nobody wants that job.
- 14:55It's like seven dumb dudes generally want that.
- 14:59So that's why I'm here.
- 15:00That's why we're here.
- 15:01That's why Dave and I are being putting in so much time and energy and effort
- 15:03into creating something incredible.
- 15:05Robyn Ivy: And it's interesting when you think about serving at scale, like at
- 15:09whatever your definition of the highest level is, the fundamentals and the
- 15:13foundational things that it's helpful to really understand whether you are in
- 15:17full agreement with them or completely not understanding, the, understanding
- 15:22the energetics of money and the pain of money and the joy of money and the
- 15:26relationality of money or being able to do that in terms of religious experience.
- 15:32Whether you agree with things that are more dogmatic or more rigid or you open
- 15:37up to something far more unbounded.
- 15:40I think it sets you up well, especially if you're exploring masculine energy
- 15:44and feminine energy, because the more we understand about leadership, the
- 15:47more we're talking about wholeness.
- 15:49And we're talking about being able to access these different parts
- 15:52of our own humanity, which we see historically was not the case,
- 15:56Jerremy: Yeah.
- 15:56Yeah.
- 15:56Robyn Ivy: much hiding who they were in hopes that nobody would
- 15:59ever find them out, and the level of pressure of imposter syndrome.
- 16:04then you play that out at scale in the Congress and the Senate and like
- 16:08Jerremy: Huh
- 16:08Robyn Ivy: who's ever run, who never wants to admit they smoked weed
- 16:11Jerremy: Uhhuh.
- 16:12Robyn Ivy: something stupid or learned by any misstep of any kind do they
- 16:17really think that we don't know that they had to have missed steps somewhere in
- 16:21Jerremy: Yep.
- 16:22Robyn Ivy: learn something?
- 16:23Or are we meant to think they're just buffoons having clearly no experience
- 16:27other than something positive?
- 16:29The, I think the veil's ready to drop,
- 16:32Jerremy: I love that.
- 16:32Yeah.
- 16:33That's beautiful.
- 16:33Yep.
- 16:34I agree.
- 16:35Robyn Ivy: Yeah I think there's so much, there's so much liberation in the things
- 16:39that at one point maybe feel like they tie us down, and I think that's, I don't know.
- 16:43I often think like it was only because I grew up as a preacher's kid, that
- 16:47I gave myself the permission to go all the way to the edge of the Woo,
- 16:50which I ironically gave me permission to pray a rosary as a Protestant kid.
- 16:55I don't I will hope, I will probably pray this rosary every day till
- 16:59I die, and who'd have thought?
- 17:01But if we're not open to this stuff, whether it's the possibility of becoming
- 17:04president or the possibility of leading a family in a different capacity or just
- 17:09leading ourself through the world or trying to invest in, in something that we
- 17:13don't understand it, what we're here for.
- 17:15Right?
- 17:16Jerremy: Yeah, I agree.
- 17:18Well, let, let's have, I'd like to ask this question, Rob.
- 17:20I think it would just be fun,
- 17:22Robyn Ivy: Sure.
- 17:22Jerremy: As it regards to the stock market.
- 17:24Tell me what your beliefs are around it, what fears you may or may not have.
- 17:30Just in, in regards to investing in stocks and trading in the markets.
- 17:35Robyn Ivy: I tend to go like this and pretend there's no
- 17:39such thing as any of this.
- 17:42That's been my relationship to all things financial and all things
- 17:45relative to financial at all.
- 17:47Yeah.
- 17:48Yep.
- 17:49I
- 17:49Jerremy: That's fair.
- 17:49Robyn Ivy: nothing to do with it.
- 17:50It terrifies me, but I've learned it, it terrifies me from a place
- 17:55of not trusting myself, right?
- 17:56Like the same fear as an A DHD kid of I'm not gonna figure it out.
- 18:01I'm gonna have to know more than I know I'm gonna have to be a
- 18:03different person to deal with.
- 18:05It took me a long time of working through a lot of that fear and I think
- 18:09I still have a long way to go with it.
- 18:11But I did get smart enough to get a financial advisor and a bookkeeper and
- 18:15offload it, but then it left me feeling like I'm not in relationship with it.
- 18:20else is in a healthy relationship with it, which is better than no one being in a
- 18:24Jerremy: Sure.
- 18:24Robyn Ivy: it.
- 18:25Jerremy: Yeah.
- 18:25Robyn Ivy: like, progress.
- 18:26Someone is in relationship with this, but it also gets to be me one day
- 18:31not hoping they're doing a great job.
- 18:34Jerremy: Yeah.
- 18:35Yeah.
- 18:36I agree.
- 18:36Well, that's, I, I, I appreciate you sharing that with us, and I think
- 18:39truthfully, that's probably most people's.
- 18:42Interaction with it, and it's just scary.
- 18:46I love your awareness of your like, oh wait, I'm scared of it, because
- 18:49it's probably gonna be a me thing.
- 18:52And that really is.
- 18:53I think beau.
- 18:54Robyn Ivy: percent gonna be a me thing.
- 18:55Jerremy: Yeah.
- 18:55That's beautiful awareness though.
- 18:57Robyn Ivy: more potently.
- 18:57It's not only gonna be a me thing, it's gonna be a shame thing.
- 19:00Jerremy: Yeah.
- 19:01Robyn Ivy: It's not.
- 19:01It's oh no.
- 19:02The only thing I'm ever turning my back on is when it's gonna be a
- 19:05shame thing that then is gonna also potentially be compounded with an
- 19:10action of consistency thing about a thing I don't feel that much self-trust
- 19:15Jerremy: Mm. Love that.
- 19:17Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 19:19Most
- 19:19Jerremy: that.
- 19:20Robyn Ivy: I'm like, let's go Buffalo towards a storm I'm in.
- 19:23Jerremy: Yeah.
- 19:23I hope to have more in depth conversations with you about it because I, I believe
- 19:27that there's a lot of healing that goes into that journey because the
- 19:30more we understand that world, the more we'll understand about ourselves,
- 19:33we start removing and working on and healing that shame a little bit.
- 19:36Because really a lot of times it's, uh, it'll be linked to the shame of pleasure.
- 19:41'Cause that's what, that's one of the things that money brings into our lives.
- 19:44It brings a lot of pleasure.
- 19:45Uh, it doesn't have to,
- 19:46Robyn Ivy: Oh
- 19:47Jerremy: it can bring a,
- 19:47Robyn Ivy: me that he he has to spend that you, that he has to send, spend a
- 19:51certain amount of money just for fun.
- 19:54Jerremy: yeah.
- 19:55Robyn Ivy: Like one of your rules.
- 19:56Jerremy: Yeah.
- 19:57WW when people say money that
- 20:00Robyn Ivy: that part, by the way.
- 20:01Jerremy: No.
- 20:01Yeah.
- 20:02Robyn Ivy: There's no evidence so far to suggest that I am not good
- 20:05at spending it for fun, actually.
- 20:08Jerremy: Yes.
- 20:09Yes.
- 20:09And those, those are both interesting words, right.
- 20:11Spending and fun.
- 20:13Because, yeah, I, I, fun can be pleasurable, but giving
- 20:16money away can be pleasurable.
- 20:18Building churches, building schools, building hospitals,
- 20:21figuring out ways to circulate it.
- 20:23Spit out ways to not spend it, but just earn more of it.
- 20:26'cause if you give more, you're gonna get more.
- 20:28That's the other beautiful law, right?
- 20:30Scriptural law in all text is like, you're gonna be provided for the more you give
- 20:35and the more you provide for others.
- 20:37And that's just also a beautiful recognition.
- 20:39So I think that it's just a beautifully interwoven aspect of our lives.
- 20:43'cause everyone needs money, right?
- 20:45It's not as important as oxygen, but it's right up there.
- 20:48It is really, really close, uh, oxygen and currency.
- 20:54And when you start playing in both of those worlds, you will start opening
- 20:57yourself up for a lot of opportunity, for healing, for expansion, for growth.
- 21:01Because yes to make a lot of money and to keep a lot of money, we have to
- 21:06become really, really unique containers.
- 21:08We have to be a container of someone that can hold all other
- 21:12things as well in our life.
- 21:14not only relationships, but also, a assets, right?
- 21:18Other assets.
- 21:18Not necessarily only physical assets, right?
- 21:20Intangible assets, things that we really step out into the world
- 21:24and we're ready to be a big, bold beacon and say, Hey, look at me.
- 21:28'cause again, that's what money does, is it amplifies everything that it touches.
- 21:31Robyn Ivy: Totally.
- 21:32Jerremy: Yeah.
- 21:33Heck yeah.
- 21:34Robyn Ivy: a lot of folks in the financial world talk about how money loves speed,
- 21:38Something about money and quickness and I, my coaching practice, when people
- 21:45are bumping up against self-trust.
- 21:47That tends to be where they then wanna slow down the speed.
- 21:51'cause they're like, I don't feel like I can move quick at a place of not trust.
- 21:56And I was like, then that's gonna be a real setup when
- 21:58it comes to money for people.
- 21:59If money loves speed, but not trusting ourselves creates a this
- 22:03natural inclination to slow down or stop altogether, then we're also
- 22:07financially then energetically putting ourselves in a bit of a pickle.
- 22:12Jerremy: Yeah, I love that.
- 22:13So true.
- 22:14Yes, correct.
- 22:16Speed is really what, what speed means, is velocity, and then velocity
- 22:22generally also means volatility.
- 22:24And so you've heard that phrase before, right?
- 22:26The stock market, that's a tons of volatility and people are
- 22:28like, oh, it's too volatile.
- 22:30Don't put me in it.
- 22:31Volatility is incredible.
- 22:32If you know where you're going.
- 22:34Most people don't know where they're going.
- 22:36They don't have the clarity, they don't have the intention to sit down and
- 22:39go, okay, this is where I wanna go.
- 22:40You live in Rhode Island, so if you're gonna come out here to
- 22:42Las Vegas and visit me, you're probably gonna be in an airplane
- 22:45that's volatile because it's fast.
- 22:47But you're gonna choose that overriding a bicycle.
- 22:50And it's because one is extremely efficient and the other one's not.
- 22:54I think the speed of money is also characterized by the speed of ideas, the
- 22:59speed of intention, the speed of creation.
- 23:02I do secretly judge people when I take them out to a dinner or, or a
- 23:06lunch on how fast they can order food.
- 23:08You know, how, how long they take to just interact with the world,
- 23:11how long they take to interact with the decisions to move.
- 23:14Because having speed of clarity and speed of intention and speed of thought
- 23:18does mean that you are, and you have the capacity to create a lot more income,
- 23:23money, current to or opportunity.
- 23:26Robyn Ivy: is there any cost to that you've noticed?
- 23:28Jerremy: Yes, absolutely.
- 23:29Because most people will never make the decision.
- 23:31They think they will and then they just go and then they don't.
- 23:34Because I've heard
- 23:35Robyn Ivy: No, I mean
- 23:36Jerremy: ca
- 23:36Robyn Ivy: fast, is there to going quickly the opposite.
- 23:39Is there any cost to being to, yeah.
- 23:42Is there any cost to going that quick?
- 23:45Jerremy: I'm sure there is.
- 23:46Yeah, I'm sure there is.
- 23:46I think probably the cost would be you get too wrapped up in it and you have
- 23:51the inability to be, most individuals are extremely good at human doings, but
- 23:56they're not very good at human beings, so that's probably ultimately the cost is
- 23:59like they don't know how to turn it off.
- 24:01And they're always flying.
- 24:02They're always moving.
- 24:03They're always perpetually just going, and they're never here,
- 24:06and they're never in the now.
- 24:08Robyn Ivy: Okay.
- 24:08So how do you manage that as somebody who's really good with the energy
- 24:12and speed and velocity of money, but also is good at the being part I.
- 24:16Jerremy: The best answer I have to that question is I have to schedule it.
- 24:19And I don't know if that's the right or the wrong way, but I have to put on, I
- 24:24have to put on the calendar and I have to tell my brain and my body and my mind
- 24:27this, Hey, this is where we're going this weekend or this day or these hours.
- 24:32You're going to sit down and do X, Y, z. I go to seminars very, very often.
- 24:38We'll ask people, Hey, who here, raise your hand if you ever, if you have
- 24:41ever worked for 12 hours straight?
- 24:44And everyone's like, yeah, right?
- 24:45They like badge of on.
- 24:46They're like, I've done that.
- 24:48And they get all excited.
- 24:49And then I ask, who here has ever prayed for 12 hours straight?
- 24:53And all the hands go down and it's just this, it's just really this idea of, Hey
- 25:00man, what are you working so hard for?
- 25:03Why?
- 25:03Why are you spending all this time and energy?
- 25:05Like if you just get closer to.
- 25:07Whatever ultimate being that you believe in, you probably will be able
- 25:12to close the gap between time and space.
- 25:14And if you close that gap between time and space, it's probably
- 25:18gonna happen for you faster.
- 25:19That's one of the things I love about Joe Dispenza.
- 25:21When he says, uh, the unknown, like the closer you get to the unknown,
- 25:25the absolute unknown the nothingness.
- 25:28When you and that nothingness become one, everything in your life will
- 25:32manifest into reality instantly.
- 25:34For me, that nothingness is everythingness, which is god or the
- 25:38universe or love or ultimate perfection.
- 25:41And I think that's just such an awesome, awesome realization where
- 25:43the closer you get to that, the faster things will happen for you and I
- 25:47wanna get there as much as possible.
- 25:49So I think that's a, uh, a fun place to play in.
- 25:52Robyn Ivy: I heard these these two women, and I forget their names, but
- 25:55I, if I'm, if I remember correctly, they work for Harvard and they're
- 25:59organizational, psychologists, and they were talking about how, that in
- 26:05organizations that people they say slow it down to speed it up, that that was
- 26:10like a big business ideology for a while.
- 26:12Slow it down to speed it up.
- 26:13And they said, no, that's not true.
- 26:15Speed it up to speed it up.
- 26:17But they said the reason that people don't speed it up in organizations
- 26:21is similar to the reason we don't speed it up in our own lives.
- 26:24Because if we don't trust the foundations of our systems, of our support networks,
- 26:28of what we have in place, she was using the analogy of like a dock pillar where
- 26:33like, you're not gonna go running out on the pilings if you don't trust that
- 26:36they're in place, but if you know they're in place, you could like haul ass down
- 26:40the piling no problem, but without believing that they're trustworthy,
- 26:44you're gonna take it much slower.
- 26:46And I was like, that's such an interesting thing, especially if we're talking about
- 26:50the relationality of the money or our own trust that like we can go fast.
- 26:55Because we've got the systems in place because we trust our financial person
- 26:59or we trust our knowledge of the stock market, or we trust our ability to
- 27:03reassure ourselves if we make a bad move that day and lose money like that,
- 27:07Jerremy: Yeah.
- 27:07Robyn Ivy: just abandon ourselves.
- 27:09I thought that
- 27:09An interesting parallel.
- 27:11Jerremy: yeah.
- 27:11I love that.
- 27:12I do.
- 27:13Robyn Ivy: How do you set yourself up for the kind of balance of rigidity and
- 27:18flexibility that you need to thrive?
- 27:21Jerremy: I think that also comes down to, for me, again, again,
- 27:24just being extremely clear.
- 27:25I think the person that's most clear and the most intentional will
- 27:28win the fastest or the most often.
- 27:32Perfect example.
- 27:33If someone says, Hey, I want more money all the time, like that's
- 27:36their perpetual daily mantra.
- 27:39I would love to have more money.
- 27:40I would love to have more money If you get a dollar that is more.
- 27:44And, but they're not satisfied with a dollar.
- 27:46So now they're upset.
- 27:47And then they get this anger of not being grateful or not being in gratitude.
- 27:53And the way I structure rigidity and also flexibility is one of my mantras,
- 28:01I think, is follow my rules like an engineer, and know when to break them.
- 28:05Like an artist, there's always these ebbs and flows, right where you have to be,
- 28:10you don't wanna be the most dangerous.
- 28:14Gardener in a war, you wanna be the most dangerous warrior in a garden like it.
- 28:19There needs to be this balance.
- 28:22I mean, that's what it all always is.
- 28:23There has to be some level of equilibrium.
- 28:26Another incredible, for me, just parallel that really shifts in my
- 28:31life in a huge way, just if not that long ago, three or four years ago.
- 28:34I heard the story differently for the very first time.
- 28:37The story about the two wolves.
- 28:39The, there's this Chinese father, or, you know, speaking to his younger son
- 28:43and his younger son's asking about life and death and good and bad.
- 28:47And the dad says that every man, every person has two wolves inside of them.
- 28:53The light wolf and the dark wolf.
- 28:55And the dark wolf is there for destruction and terror and creating.
- 29:05Anger and making things happen through force.
- 29:09And then the light wolf is happy and joyful and prosperous, and
- 29:12they're always battling each other.
- 29:14These two wolves are always fighting each other, and the young boy looks
- 29:17at his dad and says, which wolf wins?
- 29:19And the dad says, whichever wolf you feed the most.
- 29:22Now, I had never heard the word the most before.
- 29:27I always heard whatever wolf you feed, but in reality, we all have those two wolves.
- 29:31We all have to feed them.
- 29:33And so I do a lot of work with men because men, the brokenness
- 29:38of any country is in direct proportion to the brokenness of men.
- 29:42And if men do not have this way to internally heal, to understand and
- 29:48to adopt, it's never women who have created this, oh, I'm gonna go start a
- 29:53giant war for more land and more power.
- 29:58Robyn Ivy: We know it's not us.
- 29:59Jerremy: No.
- 30:00Yeah.
- 30:00It's, it is not women.
- 30:01Like it's that internal.
- 30:04Robyn Ivy: sure that wouldn't be how we do that.
- 30:07Jerremy: We would figure out another way.
- 30:09Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 30:10We're pretty sure we could figure out another path to
- 30:13And resolution.
- 30:15Jerremy: But really that's a gorgeous recognition that I think
- 30:18so many people just skip over.
- 30:19It's listen, it's not, it's the dudes like they're the ones
- 30:24that are ruining everything.
- 30:25If there's something that needs to be ruined, leave it up to a
- 30:28really angry, egotistical guy and he'll figure out a way to do that.
- 30:31That's the big challenge.
- 30:33And
- 30:33Robyn Ivy: of two, like now grown men, I also think, boy, without
- 30:37the men, like men get a bad rap.
- 30:38And I'm always like, I always joke that I'd be the first one Vijo,
- 30:42voted off Vagina island because I really stand for men and all that.
- 30:47Jerremy: yeah, of course.
- 30:48Robyn Ivy: that presence, without that, it would, we would just all be different.
- 30:52So
- 30:52Jerremy: That's the balance, right?
- 30:54That
- 30:54Robyn Ivy: important parts of this.
- 30:56Jerremy: agreed.
- 30:56Agreed.
- 30:57And that's the balance.
- 30:57The balance is the recognition that we have to be in both places.
- 31:01We have to know how to do both things.
- 31:03We have to know how to live in the both worlds.
- 31:04Men need to learn how to heal deeply and to pull their ego
- 31:08out and to pull it into light.
- 31:11And also be a protector.
- 31:13A protector of women, a protector of children, a protector of
- 31:16themselves, a protector of their kingdom, the castle, and they have
- 31:19to be totally okay to become more.
- 31:23Grace to become more kind.
- 31:24And I think having the balance and having the blend between all of those
- 31:28things we're talking about, which is really the energetics of spirituality,
- 31:32of beingness, of who individuals are.
- 31:34And you start blending all of that and putting it into money,
- 31:37into investing, into politics.
- 31:40That is my four corners of like, I can talk about this stuff all day and
- 31:44it jazzes me up and it lights me up.
- 31:45'cause I know that there are solutions in this box.
- 31:49Robyn Ivy: Yeah, I think that I've noticed with women, a pa the
- 31:51pattern of there's a pattern of not feeling safe and not feeling worthy.
- 31:55And those two things then ripple out into, that becomes almost like a filter
- 31:59through which everything it's not safe to put themselves out there in the world.
- 32:02It's not safe to start the business.
- 32:04It's not safe to ask for that amount of money.
- 32:06then on the guy side, I see a lot of, not enoughness, like it's, I'm not enough yet,
- 32:11so I can't, I don't feel good enough about myself, so I can't start the thing, do
- 32:14the thing, be humble or be compassionate or open, It's such a shame to me because
- 32:20if we could see ourselves from that position, reassure that in each other,
- 32:25then just keep going out and doing the thing, our contributions and our, what we
- 32:29could create here altogether, the problems we can overcome are it's mind blowing.
- 32:34Jerremy: Yeah.
- 32:35What problem would you like to overcome?
- 32:36If you had to pick one that you could just solve tomorrow, what would it be?
- 32:40Robyn Ivy: Hunger.
- 32:40Hunger to me, hunger.
- 32:42Because if you're hungry, I don't care what plans you have,
- 32:45I don't care what, I don't care.
- 32:47Everything else, if you're hungry, it's over.
- 32:50Not doing anything if you're
- 32:51So I don't, yeah, I just, I can't fathom for me how it's 20, 25 and five
- 32:56decades later people are still hungry.
- 32:58To me, this was a problem that should have been solved by the time I was like
- 33:0212 years old or long before I got here.
- 33:04So the fact that people are still hungry, the fact that we could have this
- 33:07many billionaires and hungry people.
- 33:10Something is glitchy in the matrix still
- 33:13Jerremy: Y yes.
- 33:13And not only billionaires.
- 33:15So we have this many obese people in the us
- 33:18Robyn Ivy: correct?
- 33:19Jerremy: So someone's eating a lot of food.
- 33:20Robyn Ivy: have GLP if we have GLP ones and hungry people.
- 33:24It's astounding.
- 33:26Jerremy: Yes.
- 33:27Agreed.
- 33:27Like there, like to, to that aspect.
- 33:30Like what, how are we getting at this incorrect?
- 33:36Robyn Ivy: And I also I looked around my house a couple months ago and I
- 33:38thought, wow, this is interesting that you can be overwhelmed.
- 33:41I could be overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I have to the point that I'm like,
- 33:44I gotta get rid of some of this stuff.
- 33:46It's this is a lot.
- 33:47And then simultaneously have any sense of lack in my life.
- 33:50Like how interesting.
- 33:52Jerremy: Yeah.
- 33:52Robyn Ivy: things can sit there together.
- 33:54Jerremy: Yep.
- 33:54Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 33:55Jerremy: I love that.
- 33:55Robyn Ivy: But hunger, to me, it's always hunger.
- 33:57Jerremy: Okay.
- 33:58Robyn Ivy: else, don't know.
- 33:59If you're hungry and you're cold, don't have somewhere to stay.
- 34:03But you can always you can find somewhere to stay.
- 34:05If you can't eat, if you have nothing to eat, you're, what are you figuring out?
- 34:08How about you?
- 34:10Jerremy: Love that.
- 34:11I think my main, I believe my main focus is going to be to radically change the
- 34:17educational system in the US because
- 34:20Robyn Ivy: system?
- 34:22Jerremy: Come on Robin, let's go.
- 34:25Be careful.
- 34:25You're gonna enter my best friend status real quick.
- 34:28Robyn Ivy: That's
- 34:28Yeah.
- 34:29Get
- 34:29Jerremy: I agree.
- 34:30It's
- 34:30Robyn Ivy: friends.
- 34:31I can come rummage through your cabinets.
- 34:32If I need a
- 34:33Way,
- 34:33Jerremy: cool.
- 34:34Robyn Ivy: in the acquaintance level,
- 34:35Jerremy: Yeah.
- 34:35I want snacks.
- 34:36I'm with you.
- 34:37I'm with you.
- 34:38Robyn Ivy: Get one on the Uber Eats, and we're both grabbing the same, yeah.
- 34:41Jerremy: It.
- 34:41Love it.
- 34:41Yeah.
- 34:42I think the, our educational system is killing us.
- 34:46And it's making us scared to put kids in school.
- 34:50It's making our kids less smart.
- 34:53It is making our generation and our populace fatter and larger
- 34:59and bigger and more complacent and more docile and less creative.
- 35:03And it's helping us memorize things that we never use.
- 35:09And I believe that if we sit down and we help our children and we
- 35:13help our teachers, and we help our staff become extremely creative
- 35:16thinkers, I believe that a lot of our problems do slowly dissipate.
- 35:21Just as an example, you mentioned hunger.
- 35:24Obviously that is a component of many, many, many things.
- 35:28But if you have enough smart people in schools, in high schools, middle
- 35:34schools, colleges, universities sit down and go, alright, let's creatively
- 35:38think of these solutions and let's really, really figure out how.
- 35:42This one company, this one product, this one creation can solve that issue.
- 35:47And we are rewarded as a community globally, but also also here in the US for
- 35:54just extremely creative thinking often.
- 35:57I think that's something that really does make a huge, massive impact.
- 36:01And we're not, we're not doing that in school, right?
- 36:04Our schools are,
- 36:05Robyn Ivy: think it's very difficult to get rid of everything that
- 36:07fosters creativity in a system, and then expect the people to
- 36:11Side with their most creative thinking.
- 36:13Jerremy: Yeah,
- 36:13Robyn Ivy: I am like if we don't support creativity anywhere, and if we
- 36:16don't cr if we don't support feedback and unique perspective and socra
- 36:22conversations, opportunity for people to have various opinions and debate.
- 36:27Gosh, gosh.
- 36:28Debate, did I say debate in
- 36:30Jerremy: Oh, my good.
- 36:31Oh.
- 36:32Robyn Ivy: my no Lord.
- 36:34Yeah.
- 36:34What a dangerous concept.
- 36:36Jerremy: Agreed.
- 36:37Robyn Ivy: How are we gonna do anything creatively?
- 36:39Jerremy: Yes.
- 36:40Yeah, I'm with you.
- 36:41And so I, I can see it extremely clearly is we do make huge changes
- 36:47there where we actually have that well, 'cause AI is coming, it's coming.
- 36:51And if we don't sit down as a nation and go, alright, AI overlords,
- 36:56'cause those, those are the people that Dave battles with every day.
- 36:59He battles with the AI overlords.
- 37:01If we don't, if we don't start getting ready and prepared as a, as a nation
- 37:08and also a civilization for what is coming down the pike in 15 to 30
- 37:13years, people aren't gonna have they're not gonna be aware to how to have
- 37:17jobs, to how to, to how to create.
- 37:19They're gonna be extremely complacent.
- 37:21And Wally, the kids show the movie that is wildly accurate and hopefully
- 37:28never going to happen, but probably is a 200 year dystopian from now.
- 37:33That's gonna start happening if we don't get extremely creative on making changes.
- 37:36Now
- 37:38Robyn Ivy: and Idiocracy is sad that we just watched that a couple
- 37:40weeks ago together in Miami, and I said, because I, he's have you
- 37:43Jerremy: it's a documentary.
- 37:44Robyn Ivy: no, I, what we said.
- 37:46I was like, in what universe is this actually more like how it is?
- 37:50And then it is.
- 37:52It just is.
- 37:53It is so much more like how it is, which is terrifying.
- 37:56Jerremy: Terrifying.
- 37:57Terrifying.
- 37:59Crocs is a publicly traded company now, and that's what they're all the
- 38:03people wearing Crocs in the whole movie, and they were doing it as a joke.
- 38:07Robyn Ivy: on Friday night and I turned to my friend and I was like, I don't
- 38:10know I don't know what drug this is.
- 38:12They're on, I don't, I cannot identify whatever substance has run through
- 38:16this place that we didn't take.
- 38:18Everybody was at a frequency I had.
- 38:21I'm like, I don't know.
- 38:22I know most of them, and I don't know what this is, but people
- 38:25were in some kind of weird of half Kensington, like they were just kinda
- 38:30There.
- 38:30I'm like, this is not normal, but this is very much like that movie.
- 38:34Jerremy: Yeah.
- 38:35Yeah.
- 38:36Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 38:36Jerremy: what was your,
- 38:37Robyn Ivy: feel like it's a rally cry for people who are excited
- 38:39and still wanna make a difference.
- 38:41Like, how about now
- 38:42Jerremy: yes, agreed.
- 38:43Dave, what was your,
- 38:45Robyn Ivy: the team now.
- 38:46Jerremy: the big one that stood out to you in Idiocracy?
- 38:48Dave,
- 38:49was it the pro wrestling president?
- 38:52Dave: The every piece of that thing is really, this was 20 years ago
- 38:55and here we are living this thing.
- 38:57So it's there.
- 39:00It's bonkers,
- 39:01Jerremy: Yeah.
- 39:02Dave: think that this is actually happening.
- 39:04Jerremy: Yeah.
- 39:04Robyn Ivy: the fact that it was 20 years ago is one thing, but the
- 39:06fact that it was intended to be the most absurd thing on that would ever
- 39:10potentially, ever and ever happen
- 39:13Dave: Yeah.
- 39:13Robyn Ivy: it, and it's now more not this so alarming.
- 39:17Jerremy: Dave, chances we could get the creator writers on the show.
- 39:21Just have a conversation with him.
- 39:22Robyn Ivy: Dax Shepherd,
- 39:23Dave: And
- 39:24Robyn Ivy: probably.
- 39:25Dave: Mac no, it's
- 39:26Jerremy: It is possible.
- 39:27I think it's possible
- 39:28Dave: It's a mike
- 39:28Robyn Ivy: Oh, Mike Judge.
- 39:29Got it.
- 39:29Jerremy: Do
- 39:30Dave: I'll reach out.
- 39:31Robyn Ivy: Get on that, Dave.
- 39:32Jerremy: Get on it, Dave.
- 39:33Dave: more people say yes than not, so Yeah.
- 39:35Jerremy: Yeah,
- 39:36Robyn Ivy: know.
- 39:37Jerremy: that's right.
- 39:38Robyn Ivy: Jerremy, what do, when you look at the landscape of your
- 39:40life in this financial container, what do people, are people get wrong?
- 39:46Like, where's the paradigm shift in that?
- 39:48If people are, where are they so close, but getting it all wrong.
- 39:54Jerremy: That is a very beautiful question.
- 39:57Most individuals, in my opinion, have this extremely u extremely bad belief about
- 40:08the co, the combination of time and money.
- 40:11And so here's what I mean by that.
- 40:14They feel like there is so much time they can do it later.
- 40:21And that is true.
- 40:22So that that's a truth.
- 40:25And since there is so much time and you can do it later, if you start doing
- 40:30it now, the later becomes amazing and says you can start whatever you want.
- 40:37You can start at 67, you can start at 72, you can start at 84.
- 40:40The earlier you start though, the better and easier it becomes.
- 40:45That is the truth.
- 40:46Most people that I connect with, work with discuss, they go, uh, you
- 40:51know, one day, one day, one day.
- 40:53And every time I go through my calendar, I never see, one day I see a Monday, right?
- 40:59Monday's on the calendar, some days not on the calendar, but
- 41:03some Sunday's on the calendar.
- 41:04It's like we gotta start doing this as soon as humanly possible.
- 41:07'cause you said it, money loves speed.
- 41:09Quick, fast example.
- 41:10Tons of people will say.
- 41:13This is a pretty, pretty open statement.
- 41:14I'm not blowing your minds here.
- 41:16Apple's done innovating.
- 41:17They've created the exact same thing for years, and that company's gonna slowly die
- 41:22well for the last two and a half years.
- 41:24So if you go back to just July, 2023, I'm just gonna pick a really random
- 41:27time that's, relatively relevant.
- 41:30July of 2023 on Apple, and until today's price over the last two and a half
- 41:35years, apple's up 47% just in value.
- 41:3947%. They make $90 million net an hour.
- 41:45It's a lot of money.
- 41:47It's a lot of money.
- 41:48Google is up 85% since April of this year.
- 41:54Robyn Ivy: Wow.
- 41:54Jerremy: there, there are some companies that we,
- 41:57Robyn Ivy: unbelievable because of the messaging that AI's taking over
- 42:00and nobody's using Google, right?
- 42:02Jerremy: I know precisely, yeah.
- 42:03That, that messaging is just wrong.
- 42:05Robyn Ivy: how it appears.
- 42:06Yeah.
- 42:06How.
- 42:06Jerremy: It's almost never how it appears.
- 42:08Yeah.
- 42:08So it's just a really wild and beautiful belief and awareness process
- 42:12that when we start looking at and navigating the process, like we need
- 42:15to start investing into assets now because you do have enough money.
- 42:20If you have a dollar, you have enough money to start investing into assets.
- 42:23And if you start now, as in today, buying $1 worth of something and
- 42:29you can obviously exponentially it to however much you need to
- 42:32or want to, or have ability to.
- 42:34But we, we just hired an incredible woman to work with myself and my wife
- 42:38and my family to help us out with our time and to give us more leverage.
- 42:42And she, uh, her name is Nelly.
- 42:44She's really, really sweet.
- 42:46And I'm getting her, she just really just started working with us like days ago,
- 42:50and I've already given her a Robinhood account and I'm already teaching her
- 42:53how to invest into stocks because I know her background and her background is
- 42:57an amazing background, but it's one of, I need to work really, really hard for
- 43:00money and I need to spend six hours a week and order to provide for my family.
- 43:04And although that is a truth, right?
- 43:06We can and we should.
- 43:07And there, that's an a possibility.
- 43:09What if instead of working 60 hours, we hired her for 40 hours and is paying
- 43:14her the exact same amount she was making when she was making 60 hours.
- 43:17And then I'm also gonna teach her how to make more money by investing and
- 43:21taking some of the capital that we pay her and taking a portion of that.
- 43:24Obviously we all have bills in life.
- 43:26You take a portion of that and you put it into the Googles, the NVIDIAs, the apples,
- 43:30the Teslas of the world, and guess what?
- 43:32The value of your value, your net worth is going to increase because
- 43:35those companies are gonna increase because you're betting on America.
- 43:38And I think that's really what people don't understand is when you're
- 43:41buying assets you're betting on the largest, most powerful, most profitable
- 43:45country that in the existence.
- 43:47And if you think that's gonna go away that's fine.
- 43:49You're entitled to that belief.
- 43:51I'm just telling you that you're mathematically wrong.
- 43:53It's not gonna go away.
- 43:54It's gonna get bigger.
- 43:55Robyn Ivy: it.
- 43:55So putting your money somewhere else is like a way to make sure you're right,
- 43:59which is a terrible idea if winning that it means you don't have a country.
- 44:03Jerremy: Oh my goodness.
- 44:06The quote of the date.
- 44:07Yeah, that's it.
- 44:08What do you like if you're like, no, I don't wanna do that, so I'm just gonna
- 44:10put all my money into like this bunker and guns because the zombies are coming.
- 44:15Robyn Ivy: Okay.
- 44:15Jerremy: So that means you're gonna be fighting zombies in 20 years.
- 44:18Like, that sucks.
- 44:18Like, that's not a great world.
- 44:19Let's, let's prevent that from happening.
- 44:21Let's prevent the zombies from attacking.
- 44:23Robyn Ivy: direct it towards everybody's wellbeing.
- 44:26Jerremy: Yeah.
- 44:27There you go.
- 44:27Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 44:28all right, so three things that came up when you were saying that
- 44:31is I could feel my own oh, Lord how am I gonna learn everything?
- 44:34I would have to learn about this, because this feels like, I don't
- 44:39know what it's taken to learn about parenting 24 years deep.
- 44:42My friend is a lot, and I'm like,
- 44:44Jerremy: Yeah.
- 44:44Robyn Ivy: Is it, do I have to that my inner Sisyphus is like, I'm gonna have
- 44:48to grab another boulder and hit the road.
- 44:51So how can you pacify that fear in me in a
- 44:55Jerremy: yeah.
- 44:55Robyn Ivy: I am?
- 44:56Jerremy: The same way my dad did.
- 44:57Where it is as easy as you want it to be that's what investing is.
- 45:02You don't have to learn everything to know something.
- 45:05You kinda like anything in life.
- 45:09I asked you, how can I connect with my dad who's no longer with us?
- 45:13There's probably a easier way, a quicker way that you could guide me
- 45:17into, and then there's a probably a more in depth way where if I
- 45:20needed to go all the way into it.
- 45:21So that's, that's with Juujitsu.
- 45:25All right.
- 45:25I'm a practitioner, juujitsu.
- 45:26I love doing it.
- 45:27It's an incredible martial art.
- 45:28Uh, I'm nowhere close to good.
- 45:30Yeah.
- 45:31I'm nowhere close to good.
- 45:32I'm terrible.
- 45:33I'm a 16 year white belt, but I love it.
- 45:36It's awesome.
- 45:37It's really fun.
- 45:38And just like there's levels, there's learning, chess, picket,
- 45:43pick anything in life, pickleball, tennis, football, basketball, soccer.
- 45:47You can become an incredibly, incredibly proficient at it
- 45:50and become a professional, like an immaculate professional.
- 45:53Or you can become someone who's aware and.
- 45:55Robyn Ivy: But the difference is that with money, if you get it wrong,
- 45:59people have a whole lot of ugh, about getting that wrong in a way.
- 46:03You don't care if you get the arm bar wrong in Jiujitsu, I think.
- 46:07Jerremy: Yeah they, they can, and I think 'cause wrong is back to the
- 46:10whole time thing, it's gonna they'll be right if there's enough time.
- 46:13Generally I would say 97%
- 46:16Robyn Ivy: Ah,
- 46:17Jerremy: the time they will be correct over a long enough time horizon.
- 46:21And so when you're putting too short of a time horizon, when I first
- 46:23started trading and doing the stuff in the stock market and day trading,
- 46:26my family literally lit the same week.
- 46:29We're like, alright.
- 46:30So are you a billionaire yet?
- 46:33Like a bi a, a billionaire?
- 46:37No, I have started learning finance a week ago.
- 46:40And yeah.
- 46:41Yeah, it's just, it's just this fascinating asset and it's
- 46:43just fascinating realization.
- 46:44I do think that really ultimately for all of us having the ability
- 46:48for it to make things simple, to make it easy, for me to you, Robin
- 46:52would be Yes, baby girl, something.
- 46:54Go for it.
- 46:55Yeah, of course.
- 46:56To make it easy would be invest into companies that you know, that you
- 47:00use, that you understand, and it could be any, any amount of money
- 47:04that, that's really the quick answer.
- 47:05And if you do it repeatedly, it will grow.
- 47:08So every time you spend a Netflix account, put the same amount of
- 47:13money into the Netflix stock.
- 47:15Anytime you buy an Apple iPhone.
- 47:17Robyn Ivy: a great idea.
- 47:18Jerremy: Yeah.
- 47:18Buy some Apple stock.
- 47:20Anytime you pull up Google to search, Google, put some money into Google stock.
- 47:24Every time you get into it, every time you make a car payment, like
- 47:26most people make a car payment to whoever a finance company, Ford,
- 47:30gm, Tesla, somebody, Honda Toyota.
- 47:33Put a little bit of money into that stock.
- 47:35If you use the realization that we can all be owners rather than just
- 47:39consumers, your money will grow.
- 47:44So that's a very, very powerful statement, but that's a statement of 100% accuracy.
- 47:48You're betting on America, America's gonna win by the companies that you
- 47:51use, interact with on a daily basis, and your money will grow over time.
- 47:55Robyn Ivy: I love that idea, and I really appreciate you framing that in
- 47:58a way that's very pedestrian relatable.
- 48:01Jerremy: Yeah, sure.
- 48:01Robyn Ivy: makes sense.
- 48:02It makes sense why we would do that.
- 48:03I can hear the kind of flags of social responsibility of where
- 48:08do I wanna be investing in that?
- 48:09And at the same time, I think if you're using them, then you
- 48:11might wanna be checking in with yourself about that anyway.
- 48:14If you don't want to be investing in Apple, then why
- 48:16do you have an Apple iPhone?
- 48:18Jerremy: Come on, champion.
- 48:19Robyn Ivy: want to be
- 48:20In
- 48:20Jerremy: oh.
- 48:21Robyn Ivy: then maybe you don't want to put gas in your car.
- 48:23Like I, you're accountable to your money.
- 48:26You're accountable to your decisions.
- 48:27This is life folks.
- 48:29Jerremy: Yes.
- 48:29And yes.
- 48:31Drink Starbucks or someone else.
- 48:34It's up to you.
- 48:35You're all making decisions.
- 48:37We're all making choices.
- 48:38And exactly what you said, we make the social determination and what's
- 48:44responsible and what is valuable for us.
- 48:47As an example, I do not personally invest into oil companies.
- 48:52Why?
- 48:52I just think it's dirty.
- 48:53That's all.
- 48:54That's it.
- 48:55I just, it is physically not clean.
- 48:57So if there's someone comes into my house and spills a bunch of oil on
- 49:00the floor, I'm gonna notice it, right?
- 49:02That's all.
- 49:02I just don't think it's super, super clean.
- 49:05So I also do invest in renewable energy systems, right?
- 49:10So I have large investments into solar, into solar companies,
- 49:14into solar technology, because.
- 49:16To me in my, I have no clue how Solar Works.
- 49:20Couldn't explain it.
- 49:21No idea.
- 49:21I don't know how my cell phone works really.
- 49:23Like I just click a button and it things happen.
- 49:26I, how are we not all using the sun?
- 49:28I haven't learned that yet.
- 49:29I No clue.
- 49:31Can't figure it out.
- 49:31It's just this free energy source that just hangs out there.
- 49:35No one has to pay for.
- 49:36We just boop, put on Bang energy.
- 49:39It is kind of mind blowing to me that we don't do that.
- 49:42And it's not because oil is gonna run out and there's a finite supply and
- 49:45there's only a little bit, and that I don't even come from it from that
- 49:48perspective, I come from the perspective of there's people that have to work really
- 49:51hard and tirelessly to do all of those things that need to be done for oil.
- 49:55Where you have this ginormous thing.
- 49:57Robyn Ivy: ways.
- 49:59Jerremy: Yeah.
- 49:59Hello.
- 50:00And you could just create solar energy for everyone.
- 50:02Go, you, we, Robin, we can go to the corner of, of Utah or Nevada.
- 50:07And take out the whole corner of the state and, 500,000 acres in solar field
- 50:12and all of America's powered by solar.
- 50:15That's all it would take.
- 50:17That's a
- 50:17Robyn Ivy: you see the level of innovation that they have, but it's, again, it goes
- 50:21right back to the willingness to think creatively, to problem solve with a way
- 50:24that keeps everybody, it's not a communist idea to consider everybody's wellbeing
- 50:29when your amount of land is finite, but it's, it's easy to prepare it that way
- 50:34here, but it's a matter of understanding The resources are limited and
- 50:38Jerremy: Yeah.
- 50:38Robyn Ivy: need is different.
- 50:40Like great.
- 50:41Use 'em as parking lot cover.
- 50:42Why not
- 50:43Jerremy: Yes.
- 50:44Robyn Ivy: wants their car to be cool anyway.
- 50:47Jerremy: Agreed.
- 50:47Yep.
- 50:47Precisely.
- 50:48And I think that those are just, anyway, like that's things for me to
- 50:53understand and be aware of is it has nothing to do with certain beliefs.
- 50:57It has everything to do with, I want things to be easy,
- 50:58fast, efficient, simple.
- 51:00And the faster we get there as a society and the more we think about it and the
- 51:04more we debate and have open discussions where I can just simply disagree with
- 51:09you, like me and Dave don't agree on everything, although we agree on a
- 51:12lot of things we can have a beautiful, very easy commonality where it's like,
- 51:18oh, cool, man, I think you're wrong.
- 51:20And you think I'm wrong.
- 51:21And high five, dude, it's love you.
- 51:22You're awesome.
- 51:23But that's like playing poker or playing chess or playing a sport.
- 51:27There will be a loser.
- 51:29It's okay.
- 51:30It's not, doesn't mean that you're a bad person.
- 51:32It means that you played a game over a period of time and someone
- 51:35lost because of the result was you lost and someone else won.
- 51:39That is all right.
- 51:40It's okay for that to happen.
- 51:42Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 51:42I really value multiple perspectives.
- 51:45I spent 30 years as a commercial photographer, and the entire career is
- 51:49essentially wrapped around the idea that there is no one way to look at anything.
- 51:53And in fact, if you're only looking at it one way, you're really
- 51:56missing 99% of other possibilities of how to see something.
- 52:00it's true about ourselves.
- 52:01It's true about what we think is possible with our money.
- 52:03If you are also in your fifties, like I learned when I inherited
- 52:07some money a handful of years ago, it's like you can start at any time.
- 52:10Like you, your own thinking about money or your ability to
- 52:13invest is the only limitation.
- 52:14Because if you tell yourself that, you're gonna have to pick up the
- 52:18Boulder and start going, that's also just a thought you're having.
- 52:21It's not necessarily how it has to be.
- 52:23That's just one thought you chose to have about what it would be like
- 52:26to start getting healthy with money.
- 52:28But that
- 52:29To change as I'm gonna not have ice cream at 10 o'clock in the morning.
- 52:33It's
- 52:33Jerremy: Or at night.
- 52:34Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 52:35Or whenever.
- 52:35Yeah.
- 52:36Or you
- 52:36Jerremy: Yeah.
- 52:37Robyn Ivy: however.
- 52:38Jerremy: Exactly.
- 52:39Robyn Ivy: knowing that we're really like a few thoughts away
- 52:41from it not being a problem.
- 52:42I,
- 52:43Jerremy: Yeah.
- 52:43Precisely.
- 52:43I, I'm gonna openly share this with all of your listeners too.
- 52:46The week of like, Christmas week, I'm, I'm, I just eat cookies
- 52:51and sugar and just get fat and just do nothing for a long time.
- 52:55I like it.
- 52:56I enjoy it.
- 52:57But again, to the point of, I think it should be absolutely okay where we
- 53:01all can just sit down and just relax and have a good time and do our thing.
- 53:04But that's balance.
- 53:05That's the, you can schedule it.
- 53:07That's the creation ahead of time.
- 53:08That's the thought process ahead of time.
- 53:10That's what all these conversations are almost always gonna keep coming back to
- 53:13is clarity of time, clarity of purpose, clarity of intentionality, knowing how
- 53:18to sit down, think and grow rich, right?
- 53:21The book is not called Work Harder to Make More Money.
- 53:24It's called Think and Grow Rich.
- 53:25And so we have to be able to use our thoughts and our
- 53:27thoughts can become things.
- 53:28And if thoughts become things, then our words create our world.
- 53:32And that's why I think it's called Universe, right?
- 53:35You are the verses that we speak out loud.
- 53:37So if you start speaking to yourself, I do love money.
- 53:39Money is incredible.
- 53:40What an amazing tool that money is for myself and for my family.
- 53:44I want to interact with it and grow it and expand it because it's so awesome and it's
- 53:49incredible everything that it does for me.
- 53:51You start speaking like that and using those words often daily,
- 53:55guess what's gonna happen?
- 53:56You're gonna start having a better relationship with money
- 53:58and your wealth is going to grow.
- 54:00Robyn Ivy: And noticing, I mean, no matter what your circumstances are right now,
- 54:04noticing the abundance of blessings.
- 54:06And I don't mean that in some kind of like hashtag blessed silliness.
- 54:10Truly looking around on a cold day and recognizing like, you are lucky
- 54:13enough to have a warm place to be.
- 54:15You do have someone to call.
- 54:17There is something to eat in the fridge.
- 54:20There is, we're so resourced in ways that we just don't say thank you enough.
- 54:25If any of this were to go, we'd care about it.
- 54:28So in the moment that we have it, it's really a practice.
- 54:30I think it's a devotional practice to just say, I'm gonna be as
- 54:34consistent with my acknowledgement of this as I am of the lack of it.
- 54:39You spent all this time being aware of what's not here.
- 54:41What about the practice of thank you for what is here.
- 54:43You for what is here.
- 54:45Jerremy: Yes.
- 54:45You appreciate appreciates as Oprah Winfrey said.
- 54:50So you don't pray or ask or hope from a place of want of I have less.
- 54:56It's not from a place of lack.
- 54:58It's from a place of love.
- 54:59Thank you for what I have.
- 55:00I would love more.
- 55:02It's a powerful statement.
- 55:03I love what I have.
- 55:04It's incredible.
- 55:04I want more.
- 55:05And it doesn't have to be for you.
- 55:07You can have more.
- 55:08I want more from my cell phone.
- 55:10Robyn Ivy: resourced
- 55:11We feel the easier it is to give it away.
- 55:13Jerremy: Let's go.
- 55:14Robyn Ivy: on what we don't have, we're not gonna be giving that much.
- 55:17Jerremy: Yes.
- 55:18Yes.
- 55:18And that's, I love those conversations because I do get a little slack sometimes
- 55:23when I get on stage and I say, you're selfish if you do not make enough money.
- 55:28Because who are you really, truly, ultimately providing for?
- 55:32If you make $40,000 a year and hey, no hate on it.
- 55:35I've, I was there for a long time in my life, right?
- 55:37The first 20 years of my life, 19 years of my life, guess who I was helping?
- 55:43No one.
- 55:44I mean, maybe I would tip a waitress 15%, 10%, but probably not.
- 55:49I would find ways to kind of skirt around tips, and I would do things
- 55:53that I, I didn't have that much money, so I couldn't circulate it.
- 55:56I didn't ever go to
- 55:57Charity galas.
- 55:59I never donated money ever to anyone for any reason.
- 56:03I didn't have any, so it's okay to go.
- 56:05I love what I have.
- 56:06I love my $48,000 a year.
- 56:08This is amazing.
- 56:09Thank you.
- 56:09God.
- 56:10Give me more.
- 56:11I know there's some available, I know there's more available.
- 56:12Let me figure out how.
- 56:13Gimme the insight, gimme the wisdom, gimme the knowledge, the path,
- 56:15the opportunities, the blessings.
- 56:17Give me more because I know more is available.
- 56:21Robyn Ivy: I love it.
- 56:22Jerremy: Yeah.
- 56:23Robyn Ivy: because otherwise what are we doing?
- 56:26Yeah.
- 56:27Yeah.
- 56:27Cool.
- 56:28Jerremy, where can people find out more about you and learn more
- 56:30about you and connect with you?
- 56:33Jerremy: I have an awesome social media team.
- 56:36If anybody connects with me, they could reach out.
- 56:38Jerremy Newsome on all platforms.
- 56:41My name is built with two Rs, so my dad's name was Jerry
- 56:46and stands for Jerry and me.
- 56:48Jerremy and for my podcast solving America's Problems Anywhere that you
- 56:53listen to podcasts and on all the socials, I would love for people to reach out and
- 56:58connect with me on, on that podcast so we can continue grow, growing the platform,
- 57:03helping people see, know, and understand how we can all be a part of the solution.
- 57:07How education is going to be the root fix for almost everything that we are
- 57:10struggling over, and that we worry over.
- 57:12Because the more we educate, the more we are aware, the more we are aware,
- 57:17the more we can have a an extreme clear path on where to go to how to fix it.
- 57:22And we love having guests on the show.
- 57:25It was an absolute honor and privilege to meet you, and I am quite confident
- 57:29that we'll see each other when I pop up to Rhode Island in a month from now.
- 57:32Robyn Ivy: Yeah, I am looking forward to it and I really appreciate the chance
- 57:34to guest, host on here and hang out with you guys and share the message.
- 57:38I think it's a really beautiful opportunity to speak into wholeness
- 57:43because it's not it's no different if it's money or if it's your faith,
- 57:47or it's your relationship or your marriage or the way you parent, or
- 57:50the way you wanna serve our community.
- 57:52If we're not all in this together, then we're really not gonna make this happen.
- 57:58Jerremy: That's right.
- 58:00Robyn Ivy: Thank you for this.
