SPEAKER_00: We are the top organization in the United States for suicide prevention.
• 0:05
SPEAKER_00: We have never lost uh a veteran to suicide.
• 0:09
SPEAKER_00: And uh at current rates, unfortunately, uh the U.S.
• 0:14
SPEAKER_00: is experiencing forty-four military service members a day committing suicide.
• 0:20
SPEAKER_00: So our record is is now the gold standard.
• 0:38
SPEAKER_01: Hi, my name is Ryan.
• 0:40
SPEAKER_01: Uh serve in the United States Army for just under four years.
• 0:45
SPEAKER_01: From 2009 to 2013, I was an infantryman soldier.
• 0:50
SPEAKER_01: In 2011, I was involved in a training accident, which was a vehicle rollover.
• 0:56
SPEAKER_01: It resulted in me breaking my back and having a traumatic brain injury.
• 1:01
SPEAKER_01: Since then, I have suffered from tension headaches and back pain, which has affected my sleep at night.
• 1:09
SPEAKER_01: It was very stressful living with this back injury and neck injury.
• 1:13
SPEAKER_01: Um, dealing with headaches on a daily basis uh becomes frustrating.
• 1:19
SPEAKER_01: I didn't have any way to deal with it.
• 1:22
SPEAKER_01: I've tried, you know, countless medications, VA visits, and there was no progress with that.
• 1:29
SPEAKER_01: I was introduced to the Brain Boost back in January by Great Team.
• 1:34
SPEAKER_01: When I use it, I can tell a significant difference in my mood, my stress, and the headaches throughout the day.
• 1:42
SPEAKER_01: The headaches are the big part of what I struggle with, and since using the Brain Boost, I've had great progress with those, which also helps my sleep at night.
• 1:53
SPEAKER_02: Hi, my name is Lewis Romeo.
• 1:55
SPEAKER_02: Um I served in the Marine Corps from 2008 to 2012.
• 1:59
SPEAKER_02: My job in the military was 3051.
• 2:02
  SPEAKER_02: I was a warehouse clerk or a warehouseman.
• 2:04
SPEAKER_02: Um, so anything having to do with receiving, maintaining, and shipping military equipment.
• 2:11
SPEAKER_02: In 2011, I deployed to Sangin Valley, Afghanistan, where I was mostly involved with maintaining security for my fellow Marines.
• 2:22
SPEAKER_02: While I was deployed, um, I lost somebody who was very important to me, um, and it sent me down spiraling downward out of control uh psychologically.
• 2:32
SPEAKER_02: Well that downward spiral continued uh for years after service.
• 2:37
SPEAKER_02: Um I got involved with uh reckless behavior, um just to take my mind off of the uh depression that I was going through, um cycles of depression that never seemed to stop.
• 2:52
SPEAKER_02: Um and so I kept on chasing things that would, you know, uh make life interesting, I guess, um, in while I had that state of mind.
• 3:03
SPEAKER_02: So reckless behavior, um partying a lot, um just doing things that I shouldn't have been doing.
• 3:09
SPEAKER_02: So I finally hit rock bottom.
• 3:11
SPEAKER_02: Um I knew something needed to change.
• 3:14
SPEAKER_02: Um and through networking, I've I've met somebody who eventually introduced me to Grey Team, um, brought me here to the facility.
• 3:21
SPEAKER_02: I fell in love with everything here, and this is where my healing started.
• 3:25
SPEAKER_02: One of the tools that I used while I was here is the was the Weber helmet.
• 3:30
SPEAKER_02: Um and since the first time I started using it, it's it was like flipping a light switch.
• 3:34
SPEAKER_02: Um it was dark before and the light bulbs went off.
• 3:39
SPEAKER_02: Um, no more depression, elevated mood.
• 3:42
SPEAKER_02: Um my work ethic improved.
• 3:45
SPEAKER_02: Um the way that I communicated and interacted with people also improved, and it's just been overall mental improvement.
• 3:52
SPEAKER_02: I would definitely recommend this um helmet for anyone, regardless, you know, of your military service or non-military service.
• 4:00
SPEAKER_02: Um I mean, if it helped me, I believe it can help anyone.
• 4:04
SPEAKER_03: Oh, hello, hello everybody, and welcome to a new episode of the Light Medicine Podcast.
• 4:08
SPEAKER_03: Today I'm very happy that we have the founder of Grey Team, Mr.
• 4:12
SPEAKER_03: Kerry Reichbeck, um, on our podcast.
• 4:15
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Grey Team is a very special veteran organization um doing wonderful work for veterans in the US, like fighting post-traumatic stress disorders, doing suicide prevention, and a lot of great stuff.
• 4:28
SPEAKER_03: And um they are they are using photobiomodulation for quite a while now.
• 4:33
SPEAKER_03: And yeah, actually, I'm also looking forward to this to the to this discussion and his overall feedback now on the impact of like light um technologies on mental health of the veterans.
• 4:45
SPEAKER_03: So, yeah, thank you again for being our guest today.
• 4:49
SPEAKER_03: And let's start by you just telling us a little bit about yourself, your background, and of course, um on Grey Teams work and mission.
• 4:59
  SPEAKER_00: Absolutely, Robert.
• 5:01
SPEAKER_00: Um, thank you so much for having me on.
• 5:03
SPEAKER_00: I'm honored to be uh a part of your information gathering team.
• 5:09
SPEAKER_00: I think that Gray Team uh this is our 10th year anniversary, and we have been using photobiomodulation for for 10 years now, and uh and we've had nothing but amazing success with it.
• 5:25
  SPEAKER_00: Absolutely amazing.
• 5:26
SPEAKER_00: Um, it has helped our military service members heal so many different ailments that they've had.
• 5:34
SPEAKER_00: We've dropped inflammation, we've dropped pain levels, uh, and and of course, like traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress are tremendous causes of suicidal ideation.
• 5:52
SPEAKER_00: And with the Weber brain helmet, we've actually been able to stop that brain inflammation in its tracks and reverse it.
• 6:00
SPEAKER_00: So, very, very, very fond of the science and the technology, and it is something that we use regularly.
• 6:09
SPEAKER_00: In the 10 years that we've been here, uh, we have seen just over 1,300 through our program, and we provided services to them.
• 6:21
SPEAKER_00: And we are the top organization in the United States for suicide prevention.
• 6:26
SPEAKER_00: We have never lost uh a veteran to suicide, and uh at current rates, unfortunately, uh the U.S.
• 6:36
SPEAKER_00: is experiencing 44 military service members a day committing suicide.
• 6:42
SPEAKER_00: So our record is is now the gold standard.
• 6:47
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's very impressive.
• 6:50
SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, can you tell us a bit more about your program and yeah, the other things you are doing for your um veterans?
• 6:57
  SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
• 6:58
SPEAKER_00: So our program typically consists of 90 days, and it is all complimentary.
• 7:05
SPEAKER_00: Uh, there is no cost for anyone to ever go through it as long as they served um either in the United States military or in one of our allies uh worldwide.
• 7:18
SPEAKER_00: And uh and we typically cover everything.
• 7:21
SPEAKER_00: Um we will of course do photobiomodulation, but we also have uh huge interest in nutritional uh fitness component, we do cryotherapy, we do coal plunge, we do infrared detoxification, we have pulsed electromagnetic frequency, we have vibroacoustic, electromagnetic, infrared beds, um, hyperbaric medicine, molecular hydrogen inhalation, pretty much uh a biohacker's dream, uh all under one roof.
• 8:02
SPEAKER_00: And uh and we're constantly pushing the envelope to uh engage more tech companies in figuring out you know how to basically elevate the the human experience through technology, and uh and we've been very, very fortunate.
• 8:23
SPEAKER_00: We have a lot of support from the tech companies, of course, including Weber.
• 8:27
SPEAKER_00: Uh and you've been with us since the very beginning.
• 8:30
SPEAKER_00: So uh if I haven't said it before, I just want to thank you guys.
• 8:34
SPEAKER_00: You know, you have believed in us and you have supported us uh for the last eight years.
• 8:40
  SPEAKER_00: So it's most appreciated.
• 8:44
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, of course.
• 8:45
SPEAKER_03: We right from the beginning, your concept and your work um look yeah, looked very impressive and fascinating for us, and of course, we are getting good or important feedback also um from you because you're like also the first organization really putting together those protocols for mental health um of yeah vulnerable people.
• 9:05
SPEAKER_03: So I think it's very important, and we are happy to contribute to this um yeah mission, I would say.
• 9:12
SPEAKER_03: Um about the background of your organization, um coming back to that from the beginning.
• 9:19
SPEAKER_03: So you said you started about 10 years ago, but um how did you come into this health field?
• 9:25
  SPEAKER_03: I would say.
• 9:26
SPEAKER_03: Do you have any background in this area, or was it more like yeah, you got um yeah interested in yeah technologies on improving health?
• 9:36
SPEAKER_03: So what was the initial yeah point?
• 9:39
  SPEAKER_00: That's a that's a great question.
• 9:41
SPEAKER_00: Um so the truth is I I'm a US Army veteran.
• 9:46
SPEAKER_00: Um I was much more comfortable holding a weapon than any type of uh health technology, um, but that all changed during the transition process to go from the military into the civilian world.
• 10:01
SPEAKER_00: It's a very, very difficult transition to make.
• 10:05
SPEAKER_00: Um, a lot of people who haven't actually worn a uniform, they don't really understand that there's it's it's much more than a job.
• 10:14
SPEAKER_00: So to take you back through the history, um, one of the things people don't understand who haven't served in the military is it's a 24-hour occupation.
• 10:27
  SPEAKER_00: It's not like a regular job.
• 10:29
SPEAKER_00: You don't go home at night.
• 10:31
SPEAKER_00: Um, you are on constantly.
• 10:34
  SPEAKER_00: So cortisol levels spike.
• 10:37
  SPEAKER_00: Um you're you're either on a mission or you're training for a mission.
• 10:41
SPEAKER_00: And training for war is very dangerous work.
• 10:44
SPEAKER_00: You know, you're subjected to all kinds of dangers, including, you know, inhalation of toxins from explosions, you know, depending on what your job is in the military, and there's a wide uh amount of things that you can do, but all of them, you're training for war.
• 11:04
SPEAKER_00: And war is a dangerous business.
• 11:07
SPEAKER_00: So whether you deploy or not, or whether you actually see combat, it doesn't matter.
• 11:12
SPEAKER_00: People die in training accidents constantly, you know, uh helicopter crashes, um vehicle rollovers, you know, a parachute not opening.
• 11:25
SPEAKER_00: So so it's a it's a constant thing just to just to stay alive during your military service.
• 11:31
SPEAKER_00: And that doesn't even touch on the sleep factors, which you know, anyone who's involved in the health field knows that we're just finding out how important sleep is.
• 11:44
SPEAKER_00: So recuperative sleep, you know, actually allows the mind to rebuild and and brain cells to come back online.
• 11:54
SPEAKER_00: And one of the issues with military service, mine included, is there are people all around the world on a 24-hour cycle working, and and they don't they don't sleep uh like like a normal civilian will.
• 12:12
SPEAKER_00: You know, especially I'll give you an example.
• 12:16
SPEAKER_00: Um if you're assigned on a on a nuclear submarine, okay, um, it doesn't come up for air.
• 12:24
SPEAKER_00: It's it's it's on a patrol for eight to nine months at a time.
• 12:30
SPEAKER_00: So there is no daylight, there is no typical circadian rhythm for for your body.
• 12:37
SPEAKER_00: You know, it's divided into shifts.
• 12:39
SPEAKER_00: There is the the submarine is nuclear, so somebody's manning the reactor, somebody's running it 24-7, and they're and everything's in shifts.
• 12:49
SPEAKER_00: So even when you're not working, if you were to try to sleep, there are constantly PA announcements coming in about check this, check that.
• 13:01
SPEAKER_00: Um there's no there's no ability to turn off the lights and everybody just relax and go to sleep.
• 13:07
  SPEAKER_00: It doesn't happen.
• 13:09
SPEAKER_00: So you sleep very lightly, if at all.
• 13:12
SPEAKER_00: And because you don't get the incredible blue light of the morning to reset your circadian clock, and you don't get the amber light in the evening in order to prepare your body for sleep, you know, you're only getting that bright blue LED lighting that's that's inside a submarine 24-7.
• 13:36
SPEAKER_00: So already your your circadian rhythms are completely out of whack.
• 13:42
SPEAKER_00: You don't know if it's day or night.
• 13:43
SPEAKER_00: You you're submerged for for months at a time.
• 13:47
SPEAKER_00: And when you come home from that, your body doesn't completely snap back, it's damaged now.
• 13:57
SPEAKER_00: And and in order to reset all that, it takes quite a bit of technology.
• 14:03
SPEAKER_00: So for myself, coming back from that type of environment where where you're on, you're off, you're on, you're off, your cortisol level is constantly spiked, you're in fight or flight quite a bit.
• 14:19
SPEAKER_00: And you don't just turn that off.
• 14:22
  SPEAKER_00: You you can't.
• 14:24
SPEAKER_00: You know, your your vagal nerve system is just is completely out of whack.
• 14:29
SPEAKER_00: And so one of my issues was how do I become a civilian again?
• 14:36
SPEAKER_00: And that's that's a that's a universal problem against anyone who's ever served in the military is how do you transition back to civilian life?
• 14:45
SPEAKER_00: So you're you're losing your health, you're losing your purpose, you know, your whole identity is is tied to being a soldier.
• 14:55
SPEAKER_00: Um, you have all these people around you as support, and suddenly they're gone.
• 15:01
SPEAKER_00: So you're all alone, you know, you don't know why you can't sleep.
• 15:05
SPEAKER_00: If you've been blown up or subjected to uh any type of post-traumatic stress or traumatic brain injury, um, your brain isn't working properly.
• 15:16
SPEAKER_00: That inflammation will actually cause anything beyond that area, any of the brain cells beyond that area to be starved for oxygen.
• 15:26
  SPEAKER_00: They're hypoxic.
• 15:28
SPEAKER_00: And unfortunately, those brain cells begin to die off.
• 15:33
SPEAKER_00: The good news is it's fixable, the brain will repair itself, but only if you drop that inflammation.
• 15:40
SPEAKER_00: And you don't know that when you come out of the military.
• 15:44
SPEAKER_00: It's such a steady decline, slow and steady, that you don't even notice why you're just losing vocabulary, losing neurocognitive skills.
• 15:58
  SPEAKER_00: And it's very frustrating.
• 16:00
SPEAKER_00: You can't pull words out, your vocabulary is slipping, um, and it becomes very difficult to hold a job, to concentrate, but it but it's such an insidiously slow process that you can't put your finger on why your brain doesn't work.
• 16:18
SPEAKER_00: You just know that it that it isn't.
• 16:20
SPEAKER_00: And that's one of the leading causes of suicide.
• 16:24
SPEAKER_00: So putting all that together, the loss of camaraderie, the loss of purpose, the loss of passion, and one of the things we really have to talk about, which which is just the way it is, you know, our world is controlled a lot by capitalism.
• 16:47
SPEAKER_00: And the course, the big pharmaceutical drug companies, Merck, Pfizer, uh, AstraZeneca, they GLACO, like all of them make money by selling drugs.
• 17:01
SPEAKER_00: Okay, it's capitalism is is the best system we have.
• 17:06
  SPEAKER_00: Is it perfect?
• 17:07
SPEAKER_00: Absolutely not, but it's real.
• 17:10
SPEAKER_00: And and if you cure somebody, then they don't need drugs.
• 17:15
SPEAKER_00: Unfortunately, there's a lot of money in selling drugs.
• 17:19
SPEAKER_00: You know, we're all familiar with that, you know.
• 17:21
SPEAKER_00: Uh, and in the U.S., it's it's legal actually to advertise drugs on television and do commercials on radio and television.
• 17:31
SPEAKER_00: You know, ask your doctor if you should be taking blah blah blah.
• 17:36
SPEAKER_00: You know, maybe it's right for you.
• 17:38
SPEAKER_00: And you don't even know if you have this disease.
• 17:41
SPEAKER_00: Um, a lot of them are just created out of thin air, but now you're worried, oh my God, I need to go buy this thing.
• 17:48
SPEAKER_00: So veterans are no different.
• 17:51
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, we're we're subject to that.
• 17:53
SPEAKER_00: When we get out of the military, we're giving antipsychotics, we're given anti-anxiety pills, we're giving antidepressants, um, we're giving sleeping pills because our circadian rhythms are messed up, and then we're given pills to undo the side effects from those pills.
• 18:14
SPEAKER_00: So it's not atypical for someone to get seven prescriptions when they leave military service.
• 18:22
SPEAKER_00: And basically what we're doing is we're numbing you down.
• 18:26
SPEAKER_00: If we're numbing you down, you don't notice that all of these changes have taken place.
• 18:32
SPEAKER_00: You don't notice that you don't sleep, you don't notice that your brain isn't working properly, because you're basically just numb.
• 18:39
SPEAKER_00: You don't experience any joy, but you don't experience depression.
• 18:43
SPEAKER_00: You're just kind of flatlining.
• 18:46
SPEAKER_00: And that in it in and of itself will lead to a life with no purpose, no passion, and that leads to suicide also.
• 18:56
SPEAKER_00: So I personally had to overcome that, and on top of that, I had a good friend who was a U.S.
• 19:03
SPEAKER_00: Marine, done two combat tours to Afghanistan.
• 19:07
SPEAKER_00: Uh his marriage fell apart.
• 19:10
SPEAKER_00: He was in debt, he couldn't hold a job, he couldn't concentrate or go to college.
• 19:16
SPEAKER_00: And again, you know, the only answer that seems logical is is suicide.
• 19:23
SPEAKER_00: Because what's the point of moving forward?
• 19:25
SPEAKER_00: You know, nothing works in your life, it's gone.
• 19:29
SPEAKER_00: And we came up with well, if if if we can't do it the way the government wants it done, if we can't do it with pills, and and the government doesn't really know much about photobiomodulation or any of these advancements, let's let's research it ourselves and figure out a cure and how to get through this.
• 19:51
SPEAKER_00: And that was kind of the impetus back in 2016 when we started this.
• 19:56
SPEAKER_00: Um, if we can figure it out, you know, this is probably something that that we can direct, we can build this pathway, and we can allow others to go through this also, um, because we owe it to them, you know, uh, and hopefully we can put a big dent in that 44 that are taking their lives every day.
• 20:18
SPEAKER_00: And that was really the start.
• 20:20
SPEAKER_00: And as we've progressed, a lot of technology companies have jumped on board because veterans and service members are subjected to some of the most, you know, extreme things that a human being can be subjected to.
• 20:39
SPEAKER_00: And if we can fix them, then imagine the implications for the civilian world where things are not taken to that level.
• 20:48
SPEAKER_00: So, of course, you know, you were one of the first company, tech companies to jump on board, but since then we've had so many reach out to us that actually our facility is almost too small to be able to hold all of the tech that that is being donated to us.
• 21:07
SPEAKER_00: We're running out of room, which is a great problem to have, but also a terrible problem to have because we want to embrace these new technologies.
• 21:18
SPEAKER_00: We're actually getting a coal plasma bed delivered to us next month, and we have to find room to put it.
• 21:26
SPEAKER_00: Um the technology is amazing, the research on it is real, but it's a giant piece of equipment, and and we have to find room for it.
• 21:37
SPEAKER_00: So that kind of takes you through the the spectrum.
• 21:42
SPEAKER_00: Um we just keep accumulating more and more technologies, and as newer models come out, um we replace the older ones with the newer tech.
• 21:52
SPEAKER_00: So we're in a very blessed situation that uh I think a lot of for profits would not be able to.
• 22:00
SPEAKER_00: Be in where we don't actually purchase new equipment, it is supplied to us.
• 22:04
SPEAKER_00: And a perfect example is this brain helmet from Weber.
• 22:09
SPEAKER_00: Um, we had one of the original ones from eight or nine years ago, and and we found fantastic uh results from it.
• 22:20
SPEAKER_00: Uh the new one is actually interesting because a lot of people didn't feel they knew they knew the older brain helmet was working, but they couldn't put their finger on on the exact how do I want to put this the feeling that they got while it was operating.
• 22:43
SPEAKER_00: They felt better afterwards, but they didn't actually feel an effect during their use of it.
• 22:49
SPEAKER_00: And this one is is more powerful.
• 22:52
SPEAKER_00: They're they're experiencing um an instant pain relief from from headaches, migraines, things like that, and also just a clearing of brain fog and things like that.
• 23:04
SPEAKER_00: But it happens so quickly now.
• 23:06
SPEAKER_00: So the new one, very, very effective, and and so far we absolutely love it.
• 23:12
SPEAKER_03: Okay, yeah, thank you, especially for telling us more about this background.
• 23:17
SPEAKER_03: I think that's very interesting for many people to hear, like getting real insights from a yeah, veteran about yeah, those stories.
• 23:25
SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, I cannot really imagine how difficult it is for those people coming back for the war, but um it's really wonderful the things you are doing, and um, yeah, we are always happy to support you um on this way.
• 23:38
SPEAKER_03: Um and you're still in your location.
• 23:41
SPEAKER_03: I've been there, I think, once or twice.
• 23:43
SPEAKER_03: It's still in Boca in Florida, right?
• 23:46
  SPEAKER_00: That is correct.
• 23:47
SPEAKER_00: Um, yes, we actually held your uh one of your laser summits here.
• 23:53
SPEAKER_00: Um which we found fascinating and love to do it again, although you guys have grown so big that uh I don't think we can hold the amount of people who are now following uh your your experimentation and and work into research with light, but um we found it fascinating, you know, and and I think that more and more practitioners are beginning to embrace light therapy um because it is so so beneficial, and at the same time, you know, there's no contraindications.
• 24:32
SPEAKER_00: Everybody just gets better from it.
• 24:34
SPEAKER_00: You know, you're not you're doing no harm, and I think that's that's amazing because we're actually experiencing in the United States uh the approval of certain hallucinogens for to work with PTSD.
• 24:52
SPEAKER_00: And unfortunately, you can't say the same thing about uh, you know, even though it's plant medicine, um, it it is still a drug.
• 25:02
SPEAKER_00: It may be a drug that's grown by a plant, but it's still a drug.
• 25:07
SPEAKER_00: And and not everyone has uh the the positive experience.
• 25:12
SPEAKER_00: Most do, but there are some that don't.
• 25:15
SPEAKER_00: And one of the things I can say about light therapy is it's all positive.
• 25:21
SPEAKER_00: There you either get a benefit from it or you or you don't, but you never ever are pushed backwards.
• 25:29
SPEAKER_00: You you're you're never ever doing harm.
• 25:32
SPEAKER_00: And I think that is one of the key components of light therapy that people need to understand.
• 25:38
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 25:39
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 25:40
SPEAKER_03: And uh just one more question on your organization.
• 25:42
SPEAKER_03: Um, Grey Team is not a government-funded organization, right?
• 25:47
  SPEAKER_00: That is correct.
• 25:49
SPEAKER_00: Um we don't receive any funding from the federal government.
• 25:53
SPEAKER_00: Uh we basically run completely on corporate donations, foundations, and and of course private citizens who who understand that freedom isn't free.
• 26:07
SPEAKER_00: You know, and and if you turn on the news and and you see, you know, around the world, there there are all these conflicts, there's there's constant fighting somewhere on the planet.
• 26:20
SPEAKER_00: And, you know, most of us sleep very well in our homes, and we don't really think about that 24 hours a day there are people out there on this on this globe making sure that we sleep soundly at night, and and we take it for granted, and we really shouldn't, because it's it's one of those things that you know until you lose it, uh you don't you don't really realize that that you you have that advantage.
• 26:51
SPEAKER_00: You you go to sleep at night and there's no rockets coming in, you know, that are possibly gonna destroy your building, or you don't have to run to a uh shelter um early in the morning or you know in the middle of the night in order to um uh escape uh an attack.
• 27:11
SPEAKER_00: So I think that you know a lot of private individuals understand how important that is, that there are these people out there that they are sacrificing for them.
• 27:22
SPEAKER_00: And you know, they're not just numbers, they're sons and daughters, they're mothers and fathers.
• 27:29
SPEAKER_00: Um they're they're part of our community, and it's up to the community to actually take care of them.
• 27:36
SPEAKER_00: So we have a lot of uh a lot of patriotic individuals all over the planet who who really do appreciate the the incredible freedoms that were granted by by living in a democracy, and uh and so they come to our gallas, uh, which we hold three of them a year.
• 27:59
SPEAKER_00: Um and I think that you know they they they donate, they're very, very, very uh appreciative of what we do.
• 28:09
SPEAKER_00: Um, of course, there are the the tech companies.
• 28:13
SPEAKER_00: Um it it's really uh an all-around community effort uh in order to support these individuals uh because because they they swore to defend freedom, and you know uh the very least we owe them is to make them whole again after they come back.
• 28:37
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, absolutely.
• 28:38
SPEAKER_03: And that's also why I asked because I thought I remember that um you're mostly privately funded.
• 28:44
SPEAKER_03: So um yeah, because we also have a lot of listeners, of course, from the US or from all over the world, also corporate people, patients, doctors.
• 28:52
SPEAKER_03: So um, yeah, I just recommend to everyone who's interested in your work they can check your website and um yeah, support your work.
• 29:00
  SPEAKER_03: I think that's very important.
• 29:02
  SPEAKER_00: I I appreciate that.
• 29:03
SPEAKER_00: Anyone who is interested in learning more uh can go to grayteam.org.
• 29:09
  SPEAKER_00: That's g-re-y-t-e-a-m.org.
• 29:14
SPEAKER_00: And of course, um everyone is welcome to our our gallas.
• 29:19
SPEAKER_00: We do three of them a year.
• 29:21
SPEAKER_00: Uh there all that information is also on the website, uh, and they are you know spectacular.
• 29:29
SPEAKER_00: And I don't say that just because I help put them together, but they are probably the most interesting experiences because we're all military.
• 29:40
SPEAKER_00: We get to do fun stuff like repel from the ceiling and parachute in.
• 29:44
SPEAKER_00: And uh and we do we do some really nice uh things that you would never see at a at a galli for cancer or heart disease or something like that.
• 29:54
SPEAKER_00: So so it is a really cool experience.
• 29:56
SPEAKER_00: If you haven't come and you haven't come, Robert, then I think uh we should see you in in December on the 3rd.
• 30:05
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I will I will check the dates and hope I can be there in the future for sure.
• 30:11
  SPEAKER_03: That sounds great.
• 30:12
  SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much.
• 30:14
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, of course, we will um share this information.
• 30:17
SPEAKER_03: But um now, um yeah, coming towards the end, um maybe you can share a little bit more or tell us a couple of uh success stories.
• 30:26
SPEAKER_03: That's what people always like to hear.
• 30:28
SPEAKER_03: I know we will get some testimonial videos um from you, which will which we will include in this um podcast, but maybe from your personal experience, some success success stories which really blew your mind in the beginning, where you really saw, okay, this is working, this technology um yeah, might be a game changer for mental health.
• 30:49
  SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
• 30:51
SPEAKER_00: There there are there are so many, and I I will definitely uh give you some uh testimonials that you can add to this podcast, but I I think some of the ones that have stuck out to me uh is one of our individuals who uh retired from the military after, I believe, 26 years, if I'm not mistaken.
• 31:17
SPEAKER_00: And what we talked about just now, you know, 26 years of being in that institution, of constantly, you know, commanding men, sometimes to death, um, to have that responsibility and and that structure and that purpose in your life.
• 31:40
SPEAKER_00: And then suddenly you retire, and it sounds like the greatest thing in the world when you're first when you're first contemplating that I don't have to get up at 6 o'clock in the morning and and run five miles anymore.
• 31:57
SPEAKER_00: Uh, I'm not gonna be deployed to different third world countries and and do kind of craziness, you know, fighting.
• 32:07
SPEAKER_00: I'm basically gonna be able to come home, sleep late, and and take care of my children and take them to school in the morning like a normal person and actually, you know, be there for their birthdays and their graduations.
• 32:21
SPEAKER_00: So we had one individual who was so looking forward to his time to be able to do just that, sleep late, take his daughter to school in the morning.
• 32:34
SPEAKER_00: And the first two weeks were like heaven, just fantastic.
• 32:39
SPEAKER_00: And then slowly that joy faded into okay, now I've I've I've taken care of my morning.
• 32:51
SPEAKER_00: What do I do for the rest of the day?
• 32:54
SPEAKER_00: What purpose do I have?
• 32:56
SPEAKER_00: You know, I have served in the military for all these years.
• 33:01
SPEAKER_00: I don't know what to do with myself.
• 33:03
SPEAKER_00: You know, I I'm I'm completely like just cut loose, like a like a boat with no engine, just floating on the ocean.
• 33:12
SPEAKER_00: And that led to a darkness where this individual spent more and more time sitting alone in his garage during the day, uh drinking and ruminating about decisions that he had made in the past and lives that had been lost along the way.
• 33:33
SPEAKER_00: And uh eventually he was in such a dark place that his wife walked in on him and he was sitting on the floor with uh with a pistol to his head.
• 33:47
SPEAKER_00: And uh and he actually squeezed the trigger but moved the gun away at the last second and shot around up into the ceiling of his garage.
• 33:58
SPEAKER_00: And uh, unbeknownst to him, his wife had seen this slow progression into darkness and had reached out to Gray Team without his knowledge.
• 34:14
SPEAKER_00: And actually, we called him that morning, uh, and and he had picked up his phone and he said he never answered unknown numbers, but he answered that number that she had given us, and we invited him in and he skyrocketed.
• 34:36
SPEAKER_00: And in 90 days, he went through the program and he was a completely new person, doing so well that we actually offered him a job, and he is now one of our people.
• 34:49
SPEAKER_00: He takes uh our our team members and people who have graduated, he takes them through these outdoor experiences because he used to be uh an instructor, uh teaching people how to survive in the desert and the jungles in South America, and now um he takes them on these excursions for a week, and everybody gets to again uh get together and experience camaraderie and uh and and use their newfound skills that they've gotten from the Great Team program uh to their to their benefit.
• 35:26
SPEAKER_00: So uh it's an amazing success story.
• 35:29
SPEAKER_00: Uh I will send you a uh a video.
• 35:32
SPEAKER_00: We it was such a great story that we actually recreated it uh on video, but we we didn't want to use him as the main character because we didn't want him to relive it.
• 35:44
SPEAKER_00: Uh, but we did film it inside of his garage with his wife, and we used somebody else to stand in for his main character.
• 35:55
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, yeah, yeah.
• 35:56
SPEAKER_03: Thank you for sharing such a story.
• 35:58
SPEAKER_03: I think that's very fascinating, and I also found it very um yeah encouraging what you said um in the beginning.
• 36:05
SPEAKER_03: Like when it when it's so or has such strong impact on people which are in such a darkness and such an advanced mental um health issues, you know, then it would should be promising or should give hope to so many people suffering from mental health, you know.
• 36:22
SPEAKER_03: Not everybody is in this very deep darkness like um so like the like such a veteran, but you know, so many people are suffering from anxiety, from depression, and um I feel like if it's all if it's really working in such difficult patients, then it should give hope to so many people.
• 36:39
SPEAKER_03: And you know, latest estimates are telling us that we have close to one billion people worldwide suffering from some sort of mental issues like depression, anxiety, and things like that.
• 36:50
SPEAKER_03: So the the data you're collecting, the testimonials you're collecting are so important for us and for all the people also outside this um veteran or military world.
• 37:01
  SPEAKER_00: And and that's that's so true.
• 37:03
SPEAKER_00: I mean, uh, you know, post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury are not limited to military personnel.
• 37:11
SPEAKER_00: You know, uh a bad car accident, you know, soccer players, football players, um all kinds of people are affected by post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury.
• 37:24
SPEAKER_00: And certainly the data that we're collecting and the lessons that we're learning here at Gray Team can be applied to all of those individuals, and and and we can heal them without the use of pharmaceutical drugs, which I think is is one of the best things that's ever come out of this program.
• 37:44
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, exactly.
• 37:45
  SPEAKER_03: That's uh that's a very good conclusion.
• 37:48
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and um, and also to add to that, all the most of the data you collected so far had been um done with uh older technology, what you also already spoke about.
• 38:00
SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, we had very good success even with the kind of limited um LED technology in the past, but now with a more powerful laser device with deeper penetration into the brain, I guess you would also expect better, faster outcomes, right?
• 38:15
SPEAKER_03: What you already mentioned, that they feel something right away.
• 38:18
SPEAKER_03: So we are also very much looking forward to getting data and testimonials now for this new device from you because you're basically also the first one in this mental health field um collecting data on that with the new technology.
• 38:32
  SPEAKER_00: Well, that's amazing.
• 38:33
SPEAKER_00: And and thank you for trusting us with with that new technology.
• 38:37
  SPEAKER_00: I think I think it's gonna be a game changer.
• 38:40
SPEAKER_00: Uh, I would love to see you know more and more clinics utilizing it because again, there there is no contraindication.
• 38:48
SPEAKER_00: You know, you you you either experience nothing or you get better.
• 38:53
SPEAKER_00: Um, and with the new helmet, we haven't had anyone experience nothing.
• 38:59
SPEAKER_00: Um everyone feels it now, and that's that's a huge thing for us because you know there are there are so many devices out there, as you well know, and many of them are underpowered.
• 39:12
SPEAKER_00: Uh many of them don't do what what they say they will do.
• 39:17
SPEAKER_00: And so when you when you feel something working, you know, you're gonna continue to use it.
• 39:24
SPEAKER_00: And of course, you know, these things have a cumulative effect.
• 39:28
SPEAKER_00: You know, it's not one and done.
• 39:30
SPEAKER_00: It it needs to be used regularly until you know the the inflammation has has decreased enough and we get enough blood flow that that we're actually healing the brain, you know, that these these tissues that were damaged are all coming alive, they're getting oxygen again and they're they're reborn.
• 39:50
SPEAKER_00: And and but but you have to stay with a consistent program.
• 39:55
SPEAKER_00: And I think you know this is a huge success now that you can feel it working, so you're gonna continue to use it.
• 40:03
SPEAKER_00: And I congratulate you on that development.
• 40:08
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, thank you so much again, and yeah, we are really looking forward to get this feedback.
• 40:12
SPEAKER_03: This whole mental health field is very important also for myself.
• 40:16
SPEAKER_03: I know many people also who had big issues um with mental health in the past, and I feel like this is really a big indication where we can do a lot of good things for people, and therefore I'm so happy and grateful for this collaboration with you.
• 40:32
SPEAKER_00: Right back at you, Robert.
• 40:33
SPEAKER_00: Appreciate it from this side as well.
• 40:36
  SPEAKER_03: All right, wonderful.
• 40:38
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and um typically at the end, I always um ask people um to share their contact information.
• 40:43
SPEAKER_03: We already talked about that.
• 40:45
SPEAKER_03: You um mentioned your website um so people can check your work.
• 40:49
SPEAKER_03: Is there anything else you want to share with our audience?
• 40:53
SPEAKER_00: No, I I just wanna I want to thank you for believing uh in our program from the very beginning.
• 41:00
SPEAKER_00: Uh I want to thank Weber Medical for continuing to do the research, to continuing to evolve and not just rest on your merits, you know, but I know that you guys are all over the world talking to practitioners everywhere, taking their bits of data and information and and constantly improving and upgrading the devices that you have.
• 41:26
SPEAKER_00: And and you know, uh it's it's for the sake of humanity.
• 41:31
SPEAKER_00: So uh I appreciate what you do, as and as I'm sure all of your other practitioners do as well.
• 41:36
SPEAKER_00: And I wish you guys continued success.
• 41:41
  SPEAKER_03: Thank you very much.
• 41:42
SPEAKER_03: Same to you, of course, and um yeah, we really appreciate everything you do and everything you just said.
• 41:48
SPEAKER_03: So thank you again for being our guest today, and yeah, I hope to see you soon again in Florida, maybe at your event, or probably we will also do another um yeah educational event in Florida next year.
• 42:02
SPEAKER_03: But I will let you know maybe you can also join us and give a little input again, like what you did in the past.
• 42:08
SPEAKER_03: So um we stay in touch for sure.
• 42:11
  SPEAKER_00: Sounds great.
• 42:12
  SPEAKER_00: Thank you again.
